- Brothers and sisters who are blessed by
- Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. I am very
- happy this afternoon, I am Angga
- Aminuddin, accompanied by Muhammad Neza
- , with Yusuf Subangkit at the operator
- desk, greeting you wherever you are. We
- are here for the Thursday edition of
- our afternoon lecture program. God
- willing, in every Thursday afternoon
- lecture, we will listen to advice and
- studies presented by Ustaz Zain Alhadi.
- Alhamdulillah, he is now present in the
- studio. Peace be upon you, and Allah's
- mercy and blessings, Ustaz.
- And peace be upon you, and Allah's
- mercy and blessings.
- Right, Ustaz, let us resume our
- afternoon lecture, shall we?
- Yes.
- Usually, in every Thursday afternoon
- edition, during the closing, there are
- often poems shared by the Ustaz, or
- pearls of wisdom. Is there one today,
- Ustaz? There will be a poem and pearls
- of wisdom later.
- And also, in today's edition, oh, it
- seems Ustaz Zain is in a very generous
- mood. The Ustaz has brought books.
- This book, written by him, is titled "
- Kneeling Before Allah Subhanahu wa
- Ta'ala." This is a very interesting
- book if we look at the cover. The
- design is truly attractive. I haven't
- had the chance to read it yet because I
- just received it from Ustaz Zain, and
- Ustaz Zain is providing these books for
- you, brothers and sisters. But he is
- only providing nine copies. So, we will
- distribute them to those of you who
- send in the best questions, or for the
- questions that come in. We will select
- them based on the questions that arrive
- the fastest, right, Ustaz?
- There are nine books. Now, which book
- number is this, Ustaz?
- 11th.
- The 11th book. Wow, the Ustaz is quite
- productive.
- Titled "Kneeling Before Allah." Alright
- , Ustaz, what is our topic for this
- afternoon's edition? Our afternoon.
- In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious
- , the Most Merciful. God willing, this
- is something important for us. After
- darkness, light shall rise. After
- falsehood, truth will always come. So,
- how to overcome suffering and hardship.
- Do not lose hope. Because we see in
- history, both in the Quran and in this
- world,
- that everyone who suffers, in the end,
- succeeds and finds happiness.
- Huh.
- Like Prophet Yusuf, who was cast into a
- well and slandered. Yes.
- Lied to by his father—no, he was lied
- to, but the father reached the palace.
- Yes, that's it. And there are many
- others.
- Right.
- Sayyidah, who was that? Zainab.
- Sayyidah Zainab.
- The younger sister of Sayyidina Hussein
- .
- Yes. Yes.
- The story of Borgol from Syria to Iraq
- and beyond.
- Alright, please go ahead, Ustaz.
- Alright. In the name of Allah, the Most
- Gracious, the Most Merciful. All praise
- is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds
- , the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
- Master of the Day of Judgment. O Allah,
- send blessings upon Muhammad and the
- family of Muhammad. O Allah, send
- blessings upon Muhammad and the family
- of Muhammad, and peace be upon our
- master, the Messenger of Allah, and
- upon his family, his companions, and
- those who follow his guidance, and
- thereafter, Viewers and listeners dear
- to Allah, God willing, we will discuss
- the story of Prophet Yusuf. There is
- much wisdom in the story of Prophet
- Yusuf that we should know and use as a
- guide in our lives, God willing, right,
- sir? In the name of Allah, the Most
- Gracious, the Most Merciful. We know
- the suffering experienced by Prophet
- Yusuf because of his brothers who were
- envious. Because Prophet Yusuf had many
- virtues and was beloved by his father.
- They conspired to find an excuse to
- take him out for a walk. His younger
- brother, Prophet Yusuf. His father said
- no. But they insisted, "Let us take him
- , we will watch over him." And all
- sorts of things. But after arriving
- near a remote area, near the forest,
- they conspired. "Let's just throw him
- into the well," they said. They
- deliberated on what to do. They were
- all harsh and wanted to kill him, but
- his brother from the same mother said,
- "Just throw him into the well, so there
- is still hope for him to live," and he
- gave the advice to put him in the well.
- To make a long story short, a traveler
- passed by wanting to get water, and
- finally, they found a boy. They thought
- he could be used as a slave to be sold.
- Indeed, they sold him, and eventually,
- he reached Egypt; that's the short
- version. Because if told in every
- detail, our time would run out; it's
- quite long, you see. And so eventually
- he traveled everywhere and finally
- arrived at the palace. Living in the
- palace, we will continue the story
- later. Now let us take from the Quranic
- verses.
- Surah Yusuf, verse 18. In the name of
- Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most
- Merciful. Um, after they threw him into
- the well, the brothers returned home to
- their father, claiming that their
- brother had disappeared, eaten by a
- wolf, bitten by a wolf, bringing false
- blood to put there as evidence. Look,
- here is his shirt, his garment. Yes,
- the shirt is mentioned in the verse
- like this. Meaning they came bringing
- his shirt stained with fake blood.
- Prophet Yaqub said, "Actually, it is
- you who have made it seem good to do
- that evil deed." So, Prophet Yusuf is a
- prophet. He knew what really happened,
- but how could he be that patient? What
- did he say? Verily, patience is
- beautiful. That is the Quranic term, "
- sabrun jamil.""Fasabrun jamil" means he
- knew. But he said, "Let me be patient."
- Patience is beautiful. Patience is
- beautiful.
- Because if you are not patient, you
- rage, you get angry; none of that is
- beautiful, right? And in the end, it
- will result in something beautiful too.
- Patience itself is beautiful, and it
- will result in something more beautiful
- than being angry. Fasabrun jamil.
- Patience is beautiful, endurance is
- beautiful, steadfastness is beautiful.
- And Allah will help and defend what you
- are doing. What you are saying. Not
- doing, what you are saying, because you
- are not doing it.
- So it is not a matter of faulting
- others. Prophet Joseph faced the
- mischief of his half-brothers with
- beautiful patience, and his father,
- Jacob, was also beautiful and his
- steadfastness was beautiful as well. So
- , beauty manifested in his entire life.
- Through the bridge of suffering,
- Prophet Joseph crossed over to the
- palace. From that suffering, he crossed
- into the palace and became the
- treasurer there. Then, even after that
- was finished, there were still more
- life trials there. So this is a lesson
- for us: when we are already happy, what
- else is there? Slander. Slander. Then
- he was slandered, and with beautiful
- patience, the truth was revealed.
- Slandered in the age of hoaxes. So,
- hoaxes have existed since long ago. Is
- it spelled "hoax" or "hoa"?
- Hoa.
- Hoax. It has existed since ancient
- times. Now, many slanders are twisted.
- So, that woman was attracted to Prophet
- Joseph. She grabbed his shirt, but it
- didn't work. Prophet Joseph dodged,
- then she slandered him, saying he tried
- to attack her, and so on and so forth.
- But eventually, if there is a hoax,
- religion encourages us to seek evidence
- . What does that mean? Clarification (
- Tabayun). Don't just swallow fake news.
- There is news, and we just swallow it
- whole. In the end, we become misguided.
- We become astray. People who spread
- fake news, whether on TV, in newspapers
- , through gossip, through distributions
- , or whatever, if we accept it, we
- become astray. A good person is called
- evil, we think they are evil, and even
- label them as disbelievers. If they are
- not disbelievers, what will happen to
- us in the afterlife? If we are asked in
- the afterlife, what will we say? We say
- , "I heard it from there." Why do you
- have a mind if you can't think? Why not
- seek clarification? Just believing it
- right away. Pity the person being
- oppressed, right? Now, this is
- clarification (tabayun). Seek the
- evidence, yes. Seek the evidence by
- looking at how it was proven that his
- shirt was torn at the back, not the
- front. That is where it was discovered
- that the person was lying and
- slandering Prophet Joseph. Finally, it
- ended, and he became happy. He was then
- in the palace, serving as the treasurer
- there. Finally, his brothers—after
- many years had passed, there was a
- famine, and people were distributed
- wheat; the people were given wheat in
- the country, in the time of Egypt, the
- story is about...rice, no, it wasn't
- rice, it was wheat, bread, flour like
- that wheat. So their father told the
- children, "Go and ask for food there in
- Egypt." They went there. Prophet Joseph
- already knew that his brothers were
- arriving. They did not know they were
- queuing to get food from their brother,
- from Prophet Joseph. He ordered his
- subordinates to place the scales in
- their sacks. It was some kind of scale,
- some kind of measurement tool in his
- bag, yes. one of his brothers named
- Benjamin, right. Then, in short, it was
- announced that someone had stolen, so
- they had to be detained and searched;
- whoever had the stolen item in their
- bag must be held. Search it. Yes,
- that’s right. Take it, this brother
- of yours stole it. Now, the other
- brothers were afraid because they had
- already lost Prophet Yusuf before,
- right. Here are his brothers again.
- Don't detain us, just one of us. Have
- pity on our old father, he is already
- suffering, like this and that; no, the
- guilty one must be detained. The one
- detained is the brother who helped him
- before. Yes.
- Yes.
- That is the short story told by his
- father. Father, our brother is being
- detained, but the father already knew
- it was this and that. Quickly go back
- there and say this and that. Returning
- there again, Prophet Yusuf told them
- this and that, saying you are actually
- Yusuf. Yes, I am Yusuf. Then his
- brothers realized it, "I am Yusuf."
- Then he said this. He said, "la tasriba
- alaikumul yaum." Meaning there is no
- more grudge. I forgive you and I ask
- for your forgiveness from Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala for committing that
- act. This is what Prophet Yusuf said, "
- La tasriba alaikumul yaum yaghfirullah
- lakum wa huwa arhamur-rahimin." Today
- there is no grudge against you.
- Hopefully, Allah forgives you, and He,
- Allah, is the Most Merciful of the
- merciful. We ask for forgiveness, said
- the brothers. "Inna kunna khathi'in,"
- we were wrong. But what did Prophet
- Yusuf answer? No, no. You are all
- forgiven. I ask for forgiveness for you
- from Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. Like
- that. Now, that was proven earlier, if
- Prophet Yusuf was innocent, that is
- verse 27 of Surah Yusuf. "Wa in kana
- qamishuhu qudda min duburin fakadzabat
- wa huwa minash-shadiqin." And if his
- shirt is torn from the back, then the
- woman is the one who lied. And Yusuf is
- truthful, because how could he have
- raped her if his shirt, Prophet Yusuf's
- shirt, was torn in the back. So the one
- accused of raping was him, right. If it
- were torn in the front, maybe, but it
- was torn in the back. Heh.
- So there is lying, there is slander, we
- are told to verify, to investigate.
- After being investigated, it turned out
- Prophet Yusuf was not wrong. He gained
- more honor, his position was elevated,
- he became more noble. So people who are
- slandered must be patient. If it's "
- sabrun jamil," patience is beautiful.
- It will be revealed. No matter what,
- there will be verification, it will be
- revealed what is the truth, who is
- wrong, and who is actually right. It
- cannot be covered up. Covering up a lie
- only lasts for a while. And lying is
- deceiving people. Not everyone can be
- deceived. Certainly, some will not
- believe it. But we who are slandered,
- we must verify, we must find evidence
- that we are not guilty, provide
- explanations. And those who hear it
- also should not just listen. Use your
- reasoning. Allah gave us reason to
- think, not to swallow everything
- blindly. You can't just swallow
- everything. There are so many lies.
- Especially in these end times. There
- were many lies in the past, let alone
- in these end times. The Prophet's
- hadith states that in the end times,
- lies will be everywhere, even in
- speeches and pulpits, mostly filled
- with falsehoods. Many religious
- teachings presented also contain a lot
- of lies. Because this world is now
- filled with such trials in the end
- times. Political slander is everywhere;
- everyone is hostile toward each other,
- but sometimes we don't know what is
- true or false anymore. Unless we want
- to verify, think, and stick to the
- Quran; if we stick to the Quran, God
- willing, we will be guided and receive
- enlightenment. Without insight in our
- hearts, we cannot know what is right or
- wrong. Once again, we must not give in
- to fake news. We have a mind, we must
- be able to think. Not everything people
- say is true. We must use our intellect.
- Intellect is a light. It allows us to
- know and understand what is right and
- what is wrong. If you practice religion
- without using your intellect, things
- can get chaotic. It can be chaotic. So,
- intellect must be used. Pray using your
- intellect, listen to sermons using your
- intellect. Don't abandon your reason.
- How does the story go? There are 10
- clerics, 10 opinions; 100 clerics, 100
- opinions. Even with just a few, there
- will surely be differences. What
- remains constant is the Quran. Even the
- interpretations differ. Many hadiths
- also differ. So what do we do? We use
- hadiths that align with the Quran as
- our guide. The Quran and the Prophet's
- Sunnah are our foundation. A foundation
- for life. Once again, if a scholar's
- opinion contradicts the Quran and
- Hadith, we leave it. Because scholars
- do not receive revelations. Even the
- Prophet's companions did not receive
- revelations. So we listen, we take the
- teachings that are clearly correct
- first. But we must still be critical,
- and check them against what? Refer them
- back to the Quran. If it aligns with
- the Quran, then follow it. Not to
- mention the issue of rigid translations
- ; the scholars of the past were
- extraordinary. We aren't even a
- fraction of them. But the times are
- different. The times are different. So
- there are many things that were not
- revealed in the past that are now
- uncovered. I am repeating last week’s
- topic so that our minds may open. For
- example, Surah Al-Hasyr, verse 16, if
- I'm not mistaken. You are inside the
- mother's womb, covered by three layers
- of darkness. In the Quran, it is called
- "zulumat.""Zulumat" is usually
- translated as "darkness," but now it
- cannot be translated as darkness. We
- don't understand it. Even those reading
- it don't understand how a baby in a
- pregnant mother has three darknesses;
- there is no darkness. So the accurate
- translation is that there are three
- protective layers to shield the fetus.
- These layers are made from blood,
- menstrual blood becoming plasma,
- becoming the placenta. That was what we
- discussed yesterday. Now, the
- translation should be three layers of
- protection, not darkness. One more
- thing in Surah Al-Isra, mentioned
- yesterday, we created two signs. God
- said He created two signs. What signs?
- People don't understand the
- interpretation of signs. Two sources of
- light. Meaning the moon and the sun. It
- should be written as two sources of
- light. I extinguished the light for the
- night to become the moon. Illuminated,
- not shining, but illuminated.
- Originally it shone, now it is
- extinguished. So it is illuminated so
- you have night to rest and day to seek
- a living and know the count of days,
- hours, dates, and years. That is
- rational, right? Now, we find a lot of
- this in the Quran, its translation by
- the scholars of the past was
- extraordinary. But back then, knowledge
- did not yet exist. So the translation
- was in accordance with that era.
- So it doesn't mean the Quran's
- translation cannot be changed. It can
- be improved and adjusted according to
- present-day facts. It is not the Quran
- that needs to adjust its language.
- Because the universe is already in
- accordance with the Quran, as the One
- who created the universe created the
- Quran—one Allah. It is impossible for
- them to contradict each other. Be
- open-minded, don't be narrow-minded,
- rigid, or imprisoned. The mind cannot
- be imprisoned or tied down, it
- shouldn't be like that. The doctrine
- says you must follow this, but follow
- whom? Follow Prophet Muhammad blindly.
- Because Prophet Muhammad is infallible.
- Don't follow an ustadz blindly, don't
- listen to me blindly. Think, if it's
- right, take it. If it's wrong, discard
- it. Ordinary humans do not receive
- revelation and are not infallible. What
- must be followed is obey Allah and obey
- the messenger. Follow Allah and His
- messenger—follow blindly, no need to
- think, follow the Prophet, that fits.
- It's just that the understanding must
- also be thought through. If the Prophet
- used a miswak, it doesn't mean we just
- take a piece of wood, put it on our
- teeth, and call it following the sunnah
- . That's not what miswak means. Here,
- it means clean your mouth. If you want
- to pray, clean your mouth. Whether
- using a miswak stick or a toothbrush.
- Brushing teeth with toothpaste made
- from miswak. That is good. Turning the
- miswak into toothpaste. That is how to
- think about it. So there is no change;
- the understanding must be precise,
- rational, and logical unless it is a
- matter of worship; worship does not
- need to be rationalized because it is
- supra-rational, above the reach of
- human logic. Subuh prayer is two,
- Maghrib is three. Why is it like that?
- Well, it's just like that. Why is it
- like that? Dynamo coils are like that.
- These many coils, that many coils, add
- one more, and there is no energy. A
- dynamo, whether small, large, or a car
- dynamo, has its requirements and
- conditions for the windings. Just add
- one single winding, one extra loop, it
- won't work, it won't run, there is no
- energy. It can lift huge energy with
- just coiled copper wire, but it follows
- the rules and specific count
- requirements. With that specific count,
- there is energy. Sayyidina Ali could
- lift the gate of Khaybar. How many
- people tried to break it and couldn't,
- while he did it with one hand? He said
- that whenever the Prophet taught him,
- he would recite Subhanallah,
- Alhamdulillah, Allahu Akbar. Read it
- every day, that's where the strength
- comes from. Hm. That's why it must be
- 33. 33. If we recite 40, is that
- allowed? Yes, it is. But the energy
- will decrease. Recite 33. Stop for a
- moment. If you want to add more later,
- feel free. It’s not heresy (bid'ah),
- but is that kind of teaching considered
- heresy? So if we read more until we
- forget the 33 and read 40, is that
- heresy leading to hell? Of course not.
- Even the angels would be puzzled. "How
- could this person go to hell just for
- reciting 'subhanallah' too many times?"
- Certainly not. The understanding
- shouldn't be like that. All of that is
- good. Doing extra is 'tatawuk'(
- voluntary). Doing more is 'tatawuk'.
- Going on Hajj twice is 'tatawuk'. Going
- on Hajj once. Once more, going on Hajj
- once. Is going twice a sunnah? No. The
- Prophet only went on Hajj once. Sunnah
- means following the Prophet. So if
- someone goes twice, what is that, sir?
- Is it heresy? It's not heresy, but it's
- not a sunnah either. Where do I get '
- tatawuk' from? Read it in the Quran. "
- Walillahi alan-nasi hajjul bait." Who
- are humans to go on Hajj if they are
- capable? "Waman tatawwa'a khairan."
- Whoever wants to add, "fahua khairun
- lahu," it earns merit. That's why you
- should study the Quran first, not the
- hadith first. Hadith is the opinion of
- scholars; some scholars defend heresy.
- So if you go on Hajj twice, why isn't
- it called heresy? The Prophet only did
- it once, so it's not heresy. Allah says
- if you want to add more, go ahead,
- Allah will give more reward. Allah is
- very kind, after all. Why are you being
- so harsh? Always shouting heresy,
- wanting people to go to hell until it's
- full. Just a little joke so we don't
- feel tense. So, there are 'tatawuk'
- acts of worship that aren't commanded
- —they are voluntary. Giving a certain
- percentage in charity, then adding more
- ; is that heresy? No. Voluntary charity
- is called 'tatawuk' charity. 'Tatawuk'
- is in the Quran, it's a mindset that
- can be applied through analogy (qiyas).
- When we look at the schools of thought
- (madhhabs), they have the same goals
- but different mindsets. For example, in
- the Shafi'i school, there is the
- concept of emergency where it allows
- what is forbidden. In other schools,
- they say no. We allow it because of
- wisdom.
- Istihsan (juridical preference).
- Another school doesn't use analogy; it
- doesn't exist. What is the other one?
- Maslahah mursalah, the benefit of the
- community, not personal benefit. We see
- the benefit of the community, so it is
- allowed. Some say no, it's not an
- emergency; the mindset and the way to
- find evidence are different. But the
- goal, the statement that "all is
- allowed"—but why is it allowed? One
- uses wisdom, not emergency wisdom;
- another doesn't, but uses benefit. Like
- that, the principles of usul fiqh are
- different. So the goal is the same. Now
- , if there is a mistake, well, mistakes
- happen; we avoid them, we are only
- human. So if you want one opinion that
- you can follow blindly without error,
- it is the Quran and Prophet Muhammad.
- That is why I follow the Quran and
- follow Prophet Muhammad. So if I'm
- asked, "Ustaz, what is your madhhab?"
- My madhhab is Prophet Muhammad; is that
- wrong? The Quran commands us to follow
- the school of Prophet Muhammad. Obey
- Allah and obey the Messenger. So there
- is no need to follow other schools of
- thought. I do take the opinions of
- scholars and imam schools occasionally,
- but my absolute obedience is to Prophet
- Muhammad. The verse exists, right? "Qul
- in kuntum tuhibbunallah fattabiuni.""If
- you love Allah, then follow me." What
- does Prophet Muhammad mean by "follow"?
- To be told to follow means to adopt a
- school. A school is a path. A school is
- a path. So, whose path? I follow the
- path of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon
- him. Who wants to blame me? The Quran
- commands it. So, Ustaz, do you not
- follow any school? No. Just Prophet
- Muhammad. Why, Ustaz? If I follow the
- school of Prophet Muhammad, I am united
- . If I follow these many schools, it's
- confusing and we keep fighting. Am I
- wrong? If I follow the path of Prophet
- Muhammad, am I wrong? The Quran
- commands it. There you go. But if it
- connects to them, is it okay to follow
- Imam Shafi'i or Maliki? Well, I will
- still look to Prophet Muhammad first.
- Does the Ustaz think some of these
- schools now deviate from the Prophet's
- Sunnah? Many do. There will be a time
- for us to discuss it later. Many
- deviate from the Prophet's Sunnah.
- Triple divorce counts as three. In the
- Prophet's time, saying it 1,000 times,
- a million times, or three times, it
- remained one. In the time of Caliph Abu
- Bakar, it was one. After two years,
- Caliph Umar changed it to three, so it
- became three. This is in Bukhari, in
- the Hadith of Bukhari. So we must be
- open-minded. We cannot be rigid, saying
- my teacher's opinion must always be
- right. It shouldn't be like that. We
- end up being constantly rigid. We are
- the ones who lose out; this is a
- religious school, not a political party
- . It is to seek Allah's pleasure, not
- to seek a following. Why must we
- compete in numbers of schools and
- followers? It’s not a political party
- to get into parliament; it is to seek
- Allah’s pleasure. Now I follow
- Shafi'i, tomorrow I follow Hanafi, the
- next day I follow another. Why is that
- wrong? If it aligns with the Prophet's
- path, then I follow. Whichever one
- aligns with the Prophet's path, I
- follow. Regarding triple divorce, I
- don't; I follow Caliph Abu Bakar, it
- remains one. Caliph Abu Bakar followed
- the Prophet, right? Abu Bakar was
- closer to the Prophet. It was one; in
- the time of Caliph Abu Bakar, it
- remained one. But people often ask me,
- and I say one. Then MUI asks, "Oh, that
- Ustaz is wrong, it remains three." So
- MUI doesn't want to follow Prophet
- Muhammad. Prophet Muhammad said it
- remains one. Caliph Abu Bakar said it
- remains one. Who was closer to the
- Prophet? Caliph Umar or Abu Bakar? Abu
- Bakar was closer, so we follow Abu
- Bakar following the Prophet. Done. I'm
- not trying to cause a stir; our mindset
- must be changed. Don't be fanatical. If
- it is clearly wrong, why maintain it?
- Look in Bukhari, it's there. That’s
- just one example. There are many others
- . I have the courage to choose what is
- more correct because I am already fed
- up with the division of the global
- community over this school of thought
- or that one. I follow Prophet Muhammad,
- peace be upon him. The Prophet's school
- of thought is a clear command in the
- Quran: "In kuntum tuhibbun Allah."
- Faith is love for Allah. Allah says, "
- If you love Allah, then follow me."
- Follow Prophet Muhammad. "It is Allah
- who commanded us to follow that path.
- That path is the school of thought. So,
- I follow the school of thought of
- Prophet Muhammad. Wouldn't it be nice
- if we all lived in harmony? My brothers
- and sisters, let's continue. When
- Prophet Yusuf was happy that all his
- brothers were gathered." Now you may go
- home and take this food with you. "And
- this, meet your father there. Allah
- gave me this, my shirt, my tunic. So
- they departed. The Prophet, their
- father, knew from far away." Wow, he is
- getting close. "Prophet Yaqub already
- knew; he could smell the scent, even
- though he was blind. He cried until he
- was blind. As soon as the brothers
- arrived, they brought the tunic and
- wiped it on their father's face."
- Fartadda basira, "he could see again.
- In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious
- , the Most Merciful." Fama jaal bashir
- alqahu ala wajhi fartadda basira. "When
- the bearer of good news arrived. So,"
- bashir "means bearer of good news. From
- the suffering he had, after every
- suffering, there is definitely a"
- bashir, "there is joy, there is ease
- after hardship. So earlier, he was
- crying until his eyes could no longer
- see, this father, Prophet Yaqub.
- Prophet Yaqub, with the shirt, he
- smelled Prophet Yusuf's scent and when
- it touched his face, he could see.
- Now, isn't this strange? A miracle,
- right? But here, we have miracles and
- we have karamat. Do not be confused by
- that. There is such a thing as a snake
- stone mentioned in our world. It is
- real. I have met many community health
- centers in the forests, in Riau and
- everywhere, those clinics or centers
- keep snake stones." What is that, Sir?
- "People often get bitten by snakes here
- . Then what? If you apply this, the
- poison disappears. So, Allah created
- the animal such that when the snake is
- poisoned, it coils that stone around
- its body to draw the poison out. So,
- humans can take it to remove poison; it
- is natural, the stone itself is not
- magical. Allah the Almighty placed the
- anti-poison there. There is also an
- anti-poison in a rhinoceros horn.
- Everything in the forest, all creatures
- are given the right to self-defense.
- Tools for self-defense. Chickens are
- given what? Spurs. All for self-defense
- . Rhinos are given horns for
- self-defense. Everyone is given
- self-defense. Well, the snake has that
- stone to protect itself. So, the stone
- is not magical, no. A stone is never
- magical like that. It understands us.
- Now, about these stones being sold by
- people who claim this and that. Yes,
- that's true. That is art. I use it for
- art, there is no problem. But for those
- in shamanism where spirits are ordered
- into stones, that exists, but its
- influence is very small. Just hold it
- and recite the Fatihah, and it will
- disappear. So we must understand, don't
- say that spirits can just enter any
- stone anywhere and be commanded; that's
- not how it works, stones don't have
- those properties. That's an
- exaggeration; stones might have some
- minor properties, but nothing more than
- that. They cannot do anything
- extraordinary; that's just not true. So
- , it is clearly fine; it is good, and
- it was even a Sunnah of the Prophet.
- The Prophet used it, sometimes as a
- stamp, but he didn't believe in
- nonsensical things. Why believe in
- things that are not rational? And
- matters outside of worship must be
- rational. Matters outside of worship
- must be rational. Muamalat, civil law,
- criminal law, all of that can be
- adjusted with rational logic. For
- example, why is a thief's hand cut off?
- Because the One who knows the human
- soul is Allah. That the soul of a thief
- —not someone who steals once or twice
- , but the professional thief," the
- thief "in English—cannot repent. It
- is a mental illness.
- If there is an opportunity and he
- doesn't take it, he suffers, his heart
- feels regret, so sometimes even when he
- is rich, he still steals.
- Because it is a disease, there is no
- other cure than cutting the hand or
- finger; there is an opinion about the
- finger, and I prefer the finger so he
- can no longer pickpocket. If his
- fingers are cut off, he cannot
- pickpocket anymore. So, what is this?
- That is where we understand that
- Allah's law is never wrong. Humans have
- reason and want to blame Allah's law.
- Well, it was Allah who created their
- reason. Human capability is only in
- their reason. Now, who created their
- reason? Allah. Do not blame the law of
- Allah. If a person breaks Allah's law,
- it is a sin. But if you blame Allah's
- law or hate it, that is disbelief,
- terrifying, and rebellious like Iblis.
- Remember, rebelling is different from
- making a mistake; they are different.
- Prophet Adam made a mistake and was
- immediately forgiven. Iblis did not
- just make a mistake; he rebelled,
- opposed Allah, and mocked Allah's law.
- Allah's law ordered respect for Adam,
- but he mocked and opposed it. That is
- what is heavy. There is no forgiveness
- for that. So be careful when speaking
- about Islam. Do not be reckless. We
- were all created by Allah. Be
- self-aware. If you created yourself,
- you may oppose Allah. But if Allah
- created you, opposing Him is
- inappropriate. If I say Allah created
- you, what can you do? Prove it, if it's
- not Allah, then who? Name them. Now, if
- you say it's not Allah, who is it? Say
- it. Tell me, who can name the creator
- of humans? No one knows who the creator
- of humans is. No one claims it. Read
- any god, any scripture. None claim," I
- am the creator. "Only Allah Subhanahu
- wa ta'ala in the Qur'an proclaims
- Himself," I created you. "" I created
- the heavens and everything within them.
- "" Everything I created and I determine
- . "Ah, what do you want? Don't want to
- surrender to Allah anymore, want to
- oppose Him. Questioning Allah's laws.
- It's heavy in the hereafter later. If
- you are wrong, just admit you are wrong
- . This is before Allah, not a worldly
- judge. This is the One who made, the
- One who controls us. No one dares to
- claim they created Allah, or created
- humans. None. There never was and there
- never will be. If there is, who?
- Pharaoh once claimed so, but he died,
- and his corpse is still there in Egypt.
- Look at it, it must be jet black. Now,
- we must realize as humans we can engage
- in politics and all that, but don't try
- to oppose Allah's laws. Don't bring
- religion into it, mock religion,
- religious opinions, religious
- understanding, or religious beliefs.
- Don't play games. Where do you want to
- go? It's the body that dies, you know.
- The body dies. Your soul does not die.
- The one who passed away, passed away.
- When so-and-so passes away, what do
- they leave behind? They leave behind
- their body. Where do they leave their
- body? Returning to the One who made it.
- What do you want? Think while you are
- alive. Regret in the grave is useless
- in the hereafter. Over there in the
- barzakh. Regret now. Where do you think
- you came from? Who created you, did you
- make yourself? No. Passing away.
- Passing away to where? Leaving the body
- to return to the One who made it. How
- will you face the One who made you if
- you've been naughty here by opposing
- Him? Think. You still have your mind,
- still have time to repent, still have a
- place to turn. This is the test in this
- world. Are you willing to acknowledge
- Allah? Acknowledge Him as our Lord. Is
- it natural to be created by Allah and
- not acknowledge Him? Is it natural to
- have been eating Allah's provision
- since you were in your mother's womb?
- Up until now, you eat Allah's provision
- , there is no provision made by humans.
- Humans process things, throwing seeds
- doesn't make them grow. The One who
- grows the crops and fruits is Allah,
- who waters them. Allah why not want to
- surrender to Him? Think, the clothes we
- wear, these materials are all from
- Allah. The water we drink is from Allah
- . The water is dirty, recycled by the
- sun, rises up, comes down clean from
- the mountains, flows to touch all the
- seeds, crops and fruits grow, we eat
- them all, yet we don't want to
- acknowledge Him and even oppose Him.
- Those who have died are crying in
- regret later. Many are regretting.
- Crying together. We don't hear them.
- Chickens can hear, but the frequency is
- low. Screaming in regret. Not being
- beaten. Regret. God is good, He won't
- beat His servants. They regret. They
- realize God is good. Even all those who
- were disbelievers now in the barzakh
- realize God is good. They are ashamed.
- Regret. Let me be the one who is wrong.
- Even if I want to be forgiven. Oh God,
- it is true, I am wrong. Let me be wrong
- . I didn't know myself, You are the one
- who created me, fed me, and provided
- for all my needs. She cries in regret
- there. How many years of regret? Well,
- maybe 10 years, 1000 years. Those who
- seek pleasure only enjoy it for a few
- minutes; it is extraordinary pleasure.
- Who is this small person in this small
- world, a domestic worker? Siti Masita."
- Hey Masita, I am your God. "Said
- Pharaoh," Follow me. "" Worship me. ""
- No, Pharaoh. "" You are not God. "" My
- God is the One who created you. "" Hey
- Pharaoh. "" Hey Masita, I will throw
- you into the fire. "" I will torture
- you. "" I don't care. "Even if thrown
- into a large pot, boiled, and cooked,
- she won't feel the pain. Even if it
- hurts, it's only for a minute or two
- before she dies. The pain is only for
- two minutes; then it ends, right? Now,
- for thousands of years, she has been in
- the barzakh, like paradise. Her rank is
- high. Pharaoh has become wretched. She
- became noble because of her faith in
- Allah. Her faith was tested for only a
- few seconds under heavy trial." My God
- is Allah, "she said, and she passed.
- Siti Masita, while Pharaoh the king of
- that time became wretched, is now
- crying. Siti Masita became a princess.
- A noble princess, no longer a domestic
- worker. If she had obeyed Pharaoh, what
- would she have gotten? She would have
- been made the head of the domestic
- workers. She would still have died.
- Even after eating well in Pharaoh's
- palace, she would still have died. And
- what now? But praise be to God, her
- faith was strong. She thought with a
- sound mind." My God is Allah, O Pharaoh
- , who created me and created you. "Live
- this life with reason, use your
- intellect. Accept the past, rely on God
- for the future. Now use your reason,
- think, where am I going? Where did I
- originate? Where am I heading? Where
- will I be later? With whom? What will
- be done there? What will I do? There
- will be the Path, the Sirat al-Mustaqim
- . Who is on the straight path in this
- world? The bridge later, some will
- cross it using light like lightning.
- Some will walk in light, propelled by
- it. Some will have light like a lamp
- and so on. Light, light, light. Light
- carries them across. Some are in
- darkness, some still have a candle,
- better off crawling. Some are in
- darkness and fall right off. So, the
- path of Sirat al-Mustaqim in the
- afterlife is built here. What we
- practice now becomes the path there,
- becoming the bridge here. God willing,
- this is all already the straight path.
- The path is straight, the character is
- straight, the morals are straight,
- everything is straight. Mustaqim means
- straight, life is straight, honest.
- Honest in all things. As a Muslim,
- honestly follow the Quran, follow the
- Prophet's sunnah. Only then consider
- other opinions. Furthermore. There is
- so much we see. God willing, our time
- is very short, we take from the Quran.
- As we explained earlier. If there is
- slander, clarify it; if there is a lie,
- clarify it; if there is hardship, be
- glad. In the end, it will certainly be
- good, just to put it briefly. Then
- earlier it was mentioned about
- beautiful patience. Now, whoever wants
- to take notes, you may.
- There are three beautiful words in the
- Quran.
- Three beautiful things.
- Three beautiful things.
- One is called sabran jamil, which is
- beautiful patience. It is in Surah
- Al-Ma'arij verse 5. So it can be
- studied in Quranic tafsir translations.
- There is no error in Quranic
- translations. I said earlier, there are
- only translations that are less fitting
- because
- the language is not there, the language
- is difficult.
- There is difficult language. Some
- because the knowledge wasn't there
- before, and only now it is revealed.
- That happens a lot, yes. So, that's
- just it. But is it wrong? No. Read the
- Quran translation, you may read it. So,
- beautiful patience. Al-Ma'arij verse 5.
- It means beautiful patience is without
- anger, which will give birth to
- beautiful results. So, being patient
- but angry while grumbling and raging.
- Well, that's not patience; that
- patience is not beautiful. That is bad
- patience.
- I am patient. I am patient, patient,
- while being angry. Yes. Now, so
- patience must be made beautiful so the
- outcome becomes beautiful. Yeah,
- that’s surely it. Allahum sabran
- jamil. Memorize it, sabran jamil. The
- language is also pleasant, yes. Sabran
- jamila. Second, beautiful forgiveness.
- Safhan. Safhan jamila. Safhan jamila.
- Beautiful forgiveness. Musafahah is
- like this. The word musafahah means
- shaking hands.
- Musafahah, right? Yes.
- Shaking hands. Well, it's clean. Clean,
- hands touching. Clean. Forgiven,
- nothing left.
- Like water on a taro leaf, it spills
- off and nothing remains. That is safhan
- jamila. So there is no more grudge,
- empty in the heart.
- There is an addition, Ustadz.
- Huh?
- Without anger while smiling.
- Without anger while smiling. That is
- safhan jamila.
- That is the Jamila.
- Yes, Safhan Jamila. Yes,
- because there are also people who give
- forgiveness but don't give a smile.
- A smile. Yes. That is Al-Hijr verse 85.
- H.
- Al-Hijr verse 85. Three. Hajran jamila.
- Beautiful parting. If there is a
- divorce that is forced and it can no
- longer work. Indeed, try your best.
- Without causing a scene, without
- fighting, without involving the police.
- Hajran jamila, a beautiful parting. H.
- Especially if there are children,
- matters regarding the children can
- still be handled as usual, yes, that is
- hajran jamila, it is in Surah
- Al-Muzzammil, uh, no, Surah Al-Ma'arij,
- yes, Al-Ma'arij.
- Al-Ma'arij.
- Al-Ma'arij verse 10. If it is forced
- that you must part, part beautifully.
- So before going far, drift away a
- little, before going far, visit first,
- smile, bring some oranges, make peace,
- it's up to you. So the parting is
- beautiful. That is called, in Arabic,
- if parting beautifully it is called
- wada '. Wada'. If parting in a state of
- hatred, it is qala. So in that surah,
- it is ma wadda'aka rabbuka wa ma qala.
- O Muhammad, your Lord has not abandoned
- you. Will not part ways nicely, let
- alone qala, parting in hatred. Not at
- all. But in the translation, there is
- also an error there. It’s not a major
- error, just a minor one. Wadda, there
- is a 'k' there. He
- Qola does not use a K. So the
- translation should be," I will not part
- with you and do not hate. "
- Don’t use" you, "that’s a poor
- sentence. Allah does not want to attach
- " you "to Prophet Muhammad. That is how
- much Allah loves Prophet Muhammad. H
- But our translation says," has not
- forsaken you and has not become hateful
- . "The original wording in Arabic does
- not have the" you "when the sentence is
- about hate.
- The sentence
- ends with," I will not hate. "Already
- Yes
- But He does not want to use" hate you.
- "Even though there is a" not, "He
- doesn't want to use the" you. "
- The language is so beautiful, Allah's
- language to the Prophet.
- Because the Quranic verse is also like
- that, right?
- Yes. There isn't one. The second part,"
- ma wadda rabbuka wama qola. "" Wama
- qola. "If it were" waqalaka, "the" ka "
- means" you, "but it doesn't use" ka, "
- just" waqola. "
- That is how respectful and loving Allah
- is to Prophet Muhammad, even in the
- language.
- The love of Allah.
- Yes, poor language is not used when
- referring to him.
- This is why the Quran is extraordinary
- in its literature and language; when
- you understand it, wow, you get
- goosebumps reading the Quran, the
- literature is truly very high. No
- Arabic book to this day can rival the
- literature of the Quran. Yes.
- The content and so on. Hopefully, to
- all listeners and viewers, this is
- beneficial. As I said, if there are
- lies, we must clarify, we are obligated
- to verify first. Don't just swallow it
- whole. Otherwise, we will all fight,
- and there will be a world war. There
- will be a lot of slander, a lot in our
- country.
- Yeah. Heading toward the presidential
- election, toward everything else, plus
- religion. No, verify first. Be careful,
- God willing, so we remain safe.
- The teaching of tabayyun (clarification
- ) exists. He.
- Well, that is it, Iwan Ahot, may you be
- blessed by Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala.
- Our first session’s topic was about
- the dark hadith. Light always rises.
- After a lie, the truth always follows.
- There are several stories shared from
- the Quran. We are waiting for your SMS,
- questions, or comments. The nine first
- or best questioners will receive a book
- prize from Ustadz Zain Alhadi. The
- title is" Kneeling Before Allah
- Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. "We will return
- shortly for the second session. Stay
- with us.
