Dear congregants, purification 3:06 consists of three parts, yes. 3:12 Purification from major ritual impurity 3:15 , purification from minor ritual 3:18 impurity, purification from filth ( 3:22 najis). There are three types. Or if 3:26 you want to summarize it into two types 3:27 . Purification from ritual impurity ( 3:30 hadath), purification from filth (najis 3:33 ). Purification from hadath is divided 3:35 into two: major hadath and minor hadath 3:36 . Major hadath is purified by bathing. 3:41 That is, anyone who has had marital 3:44 relations, whether reaching orgasm or 3:47 not, is required to bathe. It is called 3:51 *ghusl junub*. People here call it a " 3:55 major bath." That is called 3:59 purification from major ritual impurity 4:00 . Now, the second is purification from 4:04 minor impurity; how is it done? By 4:06 performing ablution (*wudu*). That is 4:09 also called purification, yes. Now, 4:12 purification from*najis*is cleaning 4:14 oneself from all dirt. There are 4:18 various kinds of*najis*, yes. Human 4:21 waste, animal waste, urine, blood. 4:26 Those are all*najis*. Now, they must be 4:29 purified. There is a specific method 4:32 for it. Now, we will look at what 4:36 relates to the*wudu*mentioned earlier, 4:42 which is purification from minor ritual 4:44 impurity. The hadith of Abu Hurairah. A 4:52 hadith from Abu Hurairah, may Allah be 4:55 pleased with him. From the Prophet, may 4:58 Allah bless him and grant him peace, he 5:00 said: The Prophet said, "If one of you 5:08 wakes up from his sleep." fatawadah 5:14 then he performs wudu falyastansyir 5:17 then he should perform istinsyar by 5:21 drawing water into the nose and then 5:24 blowing it out forcefully. If the 5:28 drawing in part is istinsya. Istinsya 5:30 automatically means istinsyar. 5:32 Forcefully blowing it out. Salasan, 5:37 three times, says the Prophet, " 5:39 Fainnaha tabitu' ala khaisyumihi." 5:42 Because indeed the devil spends the 5:44 night yes staying inside the tip of our 5:54 nose. When we are sleeping, the devil 6:01 or Iblis enters the nose. So when we 6:05 wake up and perform wudu, we must 6:07 perform istinsyaq and istinsyar three 6:09 times. Because the Prophet said, 6:16 fainnaha tabitu. Because indeed the 6:20 devil stays, following, stays. Where 6:22 does it stay? yes inside a person's 6:29 nostrils. So by performing istinsyar, 6:35 istinsyar, istinsyar, that Iblis will 6:37 come out and not bother us anymore. Now 6:39 , that is important. This is related to 6:44 Now, it is strange if someone performs 6:47 wudu, excuse me, but there is still 6:49 mucus, so the wudu is not correct. Our 6:51 nose must be clean. When performing 6:56 wudu, our mouth should also be clean, 6:59 so it is recommended to brush our teeth 7:01 . Yes, it can also be termed, in the 7:06 past using siwak, now a toothbrush. 7:11 Siwak is a specific type of wood. It is 7:15 called siwak wood, which is frayed at 7:17 the tip and then used on the teeth. So, 7:20 it acts as a toothbrush. So, you may 7:24 use that, or you may also use a 7:25 toothbrush. With that, our teeth are 7:29 clean, then our nose is clean, our face 7:32 is clean, our ears are clean. Thus, 7:36 this is the manifestation of a person 7:38 who is purifying themselves through 7:40 wudu. Including, later, washing the 7:44 feet thoroughly, and the hands as well. 7:49 That is one of the ways we perform 7:52 istinsyaq and istinsyar in wudu when we 7:55 have finished sleeping. The next hadith 8:04 is the hadith of Abdullah ibn Amr. 8:08 Hadith from Abdullah bin Amr He 8:15 informed us, "Takhalafa 'anna 8:17 an-nabiyyu shallallahu' alaihi wasallam 8:20 ." The Prophet fell behind in a "fi 8:24 safaratin" in a journey "safarnaha" 8:28 which we traveled together. And the 8:36 Prophet fell behind, "fa-adrakana." 8:38 Then we were caught up by, the 8:40 Messenger of Allah caught up to us, yes 8:42 , caught up to us so the Messenger of 8:44 Allah joined us again. "Wa qad arhaqna" 8:49 "latiha""arhaqat." And the time for 8:56 prayer was already pressing, "tawadda'u 9:00 ," and at that time we were performing 9:01 wudu. "Namsahu 'ala arjulina." Some 9:09 among us were wiping their feet, not 9:12 washing them, wiping them as an 9:15 extension of "wamsahu biruusikum." Yes, 9:20 not "wujuhakum," but "wamsahu" as an 9:22 extension to that. So they were just 9:24 wiping their feet instead of washing 9:26 them. "Fanada," so the Prophet called 9:30 out "bi-sawtihi" with a loud voice. The 9:32 Prophet reminded them of that. What did 9:33 the Prophet say? "Waylun lil-a'qabi 9:36 minan-nar." Woe to the heels that are 9:43 not washed yes from the Hellfire. It 9:54 describes people who do not wash their 9:56 feet up to and past the ankles, that 10:02 person's wudu is not perfect. He said, 10:09 "a'qab," woe to the heels that are not 10:11 purified. Yes, "minan-nar" from the 10:15 Hellfire, "marrataini." He said it 10:17 twice, "au thalathan," or even three 10:19 times, repeated by the Prophet so that 10:26 his ummah, his followers, would realize 10:28 . Do not neglect to wash your feet 10:32 properly. They must be truly clean, 10:37 scrubbed, including between the toes 10:42 when we perform wudu. Then, at the 10:47 soles and the tips of the feet, those 10:49 are areas with very strong nerves. Well 10:53 , if scrubbed often, it is very good so 10:55 the cells do not die. So, those are the 10:57 things that must be paid attention to. 11:04 The Prophet even warned, "Woe to the 11:08 heels," if they are not washed. He said 11:16 that two to three times. The next 11:24 hadith, the hadith of Abu Hurairah. A 11:29 hadith from Abu Hurairah. Kana yamurru. 11:37 He passed by people. Yatawaddauna. 11:43 While they were performing wudu. People 11:50 performing wudu from a pure vessel. Wa 11:56 qala. Then the Prophet said, "Asbighul 11:59 wudu." Perfect your wudu. Perfect your 12:03 wudu. Fa inna Aba Qasim. Indeed, Aba 12:08 Qasim, meaning the Prophet (peace be 12:10 upon him), that is his title. The 12:12 Prophet had a son named Qasim. So he is 12:14 called Aba Qasim. Fa inna Aba Qasim. 12:18 Indeed, Aba Qasim, the Prophet (peace 12:19 be upon him). Qala wailun lil aqab. " 12:24 Woe to the heels from the hellfire." 12:29 Meaning the heels that are not purified 12:33 or not washed during wudu. Yes, so it 12:39 is repeated again in the following 12:41 hadith. So, this is how many times he 12:48 reminded his companions to be careful 12:51 when performing wudu; the ankles and 12:54 feet must be washed clean and scrubbed. 13:00 Only then is the wudu perfect, and it 13:02 becomes cleaner. Try putting your feet 13:07 in water without washing them 13:09 thoroughly; once they touch fabric, 13:11 they will get even dirtier. But if they 13:15 are washed and scrubbed, they will 13:17 become clean. The next hadith, the 13:27 hadith of Abu Hurairah. A hadith from 13:30 Abu Hurairah. Qala, informing us. What 13:36 did Abu Hurairah say? Inni sami'tu. I 13:40 heard. Heard whom? The Prophet (peace 13:43 be upon him). How the Prophet said, " 13:51 Indeed, my ummah will be called on the 13:53 Day of Judgment," Ghurran muhajjaleen. 14:05 My ummah on the Day of Judgment, said 14:06 the Prophet. Shining will be their 14:10 faces, feet, and hands. From the traces 14:16 of wudu water. We will be resurrected 14:20 in the hereafter with shining faces, 14:23 shining hands, and shining feet because 14:26 of this. Pay close attention to this. 14:32 So the Prophet said, "Whoever among you 14:36 is able,""To lengthen their glow," Yes, 14:43 lengthening the glow, meaning do not 14:45 just wash the bare minimum for wudu. " 14:48 Only up to the elbows." Going further 14:50 is better, more virtuous. The elbows 14:53 here as well. Then our feet, do not 14:57 just wash up to the ankles. Going 15:02 beyond that is better, up to the calves 15:05 is good. Now, this is what is called 15:09 ghurran muhajjaleen. The glow or light 15:14 on the faces, feet, and hands of the 15:17 believers because of their wudu in the 15:20 hereafter. Like that. So when the 15:24 Prophet stated, to his companions, that 15:34 he really missed his brothers. "Oh, how 15:41 I long to meet my brothers." The 15:46 companions were a bit confused, asking 15:49 why. The Prophet said he wanted to meet 15:52 his brothers. So they asked, "Are we 15:55 not your companions?""O Messenger of 15:58 Allah," are we not your brothers? "O 16:00 Messenger of Allah, are we not all your 16:02 brothers?" The companions asked, "Are 16:08 we not your brothers?" The Prophet 16:10 replied, "No.""You are my companions."" 16:15 You all are my companions.""Not my 16:19 brothers.""My brothers.""Later, at the 16:21 end of time, there will be people who 16:24 never met me, but they truly believe in 16:28 me.""That is what it means to be the 16:30 Prophet's brother.""Brother" is higher 16:34 than a friend. Yes. Why? If the 16:38 Prophet's companions believed in the 16:40 Prophet, it is natural because they met 16:41 him directly. They saw the Prophet's 16:44 miracles directly. Now, at the end of 16:45 time, people will no longer see the 16:47 Prophet, they will not see his miracles 16:49 other than the Qur'an. But they believe 16:52 in the Prophet; that is extraordinary. 16:54 That is why it is described, yes, in 16:56 the hadith it is mentioned as ikhwanu 16:58 Rasulillah, the brothers of the 17:00 Messenger of Allah. May we be included 17:04 as those brothers of the Messenger of 17:06 Allah. Amin ya Rabbal Alamin. Such is 17:22 the importance of purification, in the 17:24 sense of wudu earlier, yes. Including 17:30 within it, yes, wudu is washing the 17:34 face, hands, wiping the head, washing 17:38 the feet, yes, including cleaning the 17:43 nose, yes, then cleaning the mouth by 17:47 rinsing, and even brushing teeth, and 17:51 also cleaning the ears. So in the 17:58 hadith of Abu Hurairah, a hadith from 18:03 Abu Hurairah radiyallahu anhu, may 18:05 Allah be pleased with him. Anna, indeed 18:08 , the Messenger of Allah sallallahu 18:09 alaihi wasallam said: The Prophet said, 18:14 "Were it not""if it were not a burden 18:25 on my people""or not a burden on 18:32 mankind, I would surely command them to 18:35 use the siwak, to brush their teeth at 18:38 every prayer." Imagine if every person 18:45 performs prayer, they purify themselves 18:46 , right. Yes. They are very clean. 18:54 Their mouths are clean, their teeth are 18:57 clean, their noses are clean, their 18:59 faces are clean, their ears are clean, 19:01 their feet are clean, their heads are 19:04 clean. Wudu is extraordinary. So it is 19:08 truly extraordinary, four things, 19:11 ladies and gentlemen, we are directed 19:14 by this hadith to truly perform our 19:17 wudu well by scrubbing those limbs. 19:26 Including brushing our teeth. It is 19:28 very good if every person, every one of 19:30 us, brushes our teeth every time we 19:32 want to pray. Imagine how many times we 19:34 brush our teeth in a day, surely our 19:37 teeth will be healthy, yes. We won't go 19:41 to the dentist anymore because we will 19:43 be constantly healthy. Yes, the picture 19:45 is that our teeth will be healthy if we 19:48 constantly brush them. The next hadith, 19:54 the hadith of Abu Hurairah. The hadith 19:58 from Abu Hurairah from the Prophet. 20:01 From the Prophet sallallahu alaihi 20:02 wasallam who said, The Prophet said, " 20:07 Al-fitratu khamsun." fitra activities 20:15 of humans, yes. Fitra is what is 20:20 natural, yes, naturally, as humans, 20:24 there are five, said the Prophet, yes. 20:30 Five, five of the fitra, or five parts 20:34 of the fitra. What is the first? 20:40 Circumcision, circumcision is fitra, 20:43 yes, for Muslims, circumcision. Jewish 20:47 people are also circumcised, yes. The 20:54 second is removing pubic hair, what is 20:57 the routine? Once a week or once every 21:01 half month, that is clean, yes. Do not 21:07 let it grow for months; thankfully, 21:09 there is a routine for it. At the 21:13 latest once a month, though ideally, it 21:16 is preferred to be done every week. 21:23 Then, *wa tiful ibti*. Shaving the 21:28 armpit hair as well. So it stays clean 21:33 and doesn't get overgrown here. Keep 21:39 the armpits clean. Then, *wa taqlimul 21:44 azhfar*. Trimming the nails. Yes, every 21:52 week. Twice a week. For the fingernails 21:59 . For toenails, it can be slower 22:01 because they grow more slowly. 22:04 Fingernails have a faster growth rate. 22:06 So that is once or twice a week. For 22:13 toenails, even once a week they are 22:19 still quite short because their growth 22:22 is indeed slower; toenails grow slower 22:24 than fingernails. Then what? Trimming. 22:40 Trimming the mustache. Do not let it 22:46 pass the mouth, this boundary here; the 22:49 mustache should be cut short so it 22:51 doesn't hang over the upper lip or 22:54 connect to the bottom lip; that's not 22:57 allowed, it must be right here. So that 23:02 the lip is not covered by the mustache. 23:06 So it is permissible to keep a mustache 23:07 , but it must be neat as mentioned. It 23:12 is stated there, *qash*(trimming), not 23:16 shaving; it is not*halaqah*, because 23:20 shaving in Arabic is*halaqah*. Not* 23:27 halaq syarib*, no. But*qash*, which is 23:34 trimming the mustache. Those are the 23:43 natural human traits that should be 23:45 done routinely. The next hadith is the 23:50 hadith of Abu Ayyub al-Ansari. Hadith 23:55 from Abu Ayyub al-Ansari. *Anin-Nabi*, 24:01 that the Prophet sallallahu alaihi 24:03 wasallam said, *Idza ataitumul ghaitha* 24:11 , when you go to relieve yourselves or 24:16 defecate, do not face the qibla. And do 24:23 not turn your back to the qibla; facing 24:25 the qibla is not allowed, turning your 24:27 back to it is not allowed. For us here, 24:30 the qibla is to the west, so that means 24:31 facing towards the east. Both are not 24:33 allowed. *Walakin syarriqu*. Or* 24:40 gharriqu*, just avoid the direction of 24:42 the qibla. And Abu Ayyub. Abu Ayyub 24:47 informed us, *qadimna Syama*, he said. 24:52 We came to the region of Sham. *Wajadna 24:57 marahida*. And I found toilets or 25:03 latrines. Yes, facing. Built facing the 25:12 direction of the qibla. *Fananhariifu 25:15 wa nastaghfiru*. So we would relieve 25:18 ourselves by turning slightly to the 25:21 side. Then we would ask for forgiveness 25:24 from Allah. So, Abu Ayyub found that in 25:29 Sham at that time, many toilets or 25:33 places to defecate were facing the 25:37 qibla. The next hadith is the hadith of 25:41 Abdullah ibn Umar. Abdullah ibn Umar. 25:45 Hadith of Abdullah bin Umar. *Annahu 25:52 kana yaqulu*, that he said or informed, 25:55 this Ibn Umar. *Inna nasan yaquluna*, 26:00 that many people say, When you sit to 26:09 relieve yourself or defecate, do not 26:16 face the qibla and do not face Baitul 26:19 Maqdis. And do not face Baitul Maqdis. 26:22 The first qibla of the Muslims. Yes, 26:23 Baitul Maqdis is now in, um, Jerusalem. 26:28 Jerusalem. *Faqala*. Then Abdullah ibn 26:34 Umar said, Abdullah bin Umar, *laqad 26:39 irtaqaitu yawman ala baitin lana*. At 26:44 one time, we went up. One day went up 26:50 to the roof of a house, the roof of our 26:54 house. He said, "I saw the Messenger of 26:57 Allah sallallahu alaihi wasallam 26:59 sitting on two bricks." I saw the 27:01 Prophet sitting on two bricks as a 27:07 latrine, yes as a toilet, mustaqbila 27:11 baitil maqdis. In the act, facing 27:15 Baitul Maqdis in order to relieve 27:19 himself. So, it is understood here that 27:23 if the building is inside the house, it 27:26 is tolerated if it happens to face the 27:29 Qibla, for example, if the position is 27:31 difficult, but inside the house; if 27:34 it's outside, then no, it is not 27:37 allowed. Yes. So it is emphasized here, 27:52 uh laqiraitu at one time I went up, 28:02 yawman, one day up onto the roof of the 28:08 house, yes. Suddenly Abdullah bin Umar 28:14 yes. Then I saw from that roof, he saw 28:23 the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam 28:26 relieving himself on two piles of 28:28 bricks facing Baitul Maqdis. Now, so 28:33 that's what we must understand. If it 28:36 is inside the house, it can still be 28:37 tolerated. If it is outside the house, 28:40 in an area that is open, it is not 28:42 allowed. The next hadith, the hadith of 28:48 Abdullah ibn Umar. Abdullah bin Umar's 28:53 wife informs. I climbed onto the roof, 29:03 yes, of Hafsah's house. Hafsah was one 29:08 of the Prophet's wives yes. Hafsah 29:13 climbed to the roof of the house of a 29:16 wife of the Prophet hajati for my own 29:21 need. Then from that roof, from the 29:26 roof of Hafsah's house, I saw the 29:28 Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam 29:30 relieving himself carrying out his need 29:36 in the sense of defecating, yes. Back 29:43 turned to the Qibla, it turns out 29:46 mustaqbilan, facing towards Sham. So, 29:50 here it also explains that inside the 29:53 house it is tolerated, there is no 29:55 problem if the building is shaped like 29:57 that, yes, facing it. If here we are 30:01 facing west for instance inside the 30:03 house, that is still tolerated. But if 30:05 it's outside the house, in an open 30:07 field or such, it must not face the 30:09 Qibla. The next hadith, the hadith of 30:22 Abi Qatadah. The hadith from Abi 30:26 Qatadah informs, qala, the Prophet 30:29 sallallahu alaihi wasallam said. The 30:33 Prophet said, "Ahadukum""if one of you 30:40 drinks, then do not exhale" yes, we 30:48 exhale air from our mouths into the 30:51 food or drink container. For example, 30:57 this glass, we often do it because it's 30:59 hot, that is not allowed. Why? Because 31:03 the air coming out of our mouths 31:05 contains a lot of germs. So just wait 31:10 until it's cool enough for us to drink. 31:13 Don't, we often do that when drinking 31:15 coffee or hot tea blowing on it to 31:19 drink it, that is not allowed, yes. 31:23 That can be asked of health experts, 31:26 yes. The breath that comes out of us, 31:30 there are many harmful germs in there, 31:32 yes. That is why it is not allowed. 31:35 Don't blow on it like that. If you want 31:37 to, just wait until it can be drunk 31:39 easily, yes. Do not blow on hot food or 31:57 hot drinks in a container, glass, or 32:01 cup. But we see in daily life people 32:06 drink coffee and blow on it, that is 32:07 not allowed. And if he goes to the 32:16 toilet, wala yatamassa, then do not 32:23 touch his private parts, or his 32:27 genitals, with his right hand. It is 32:30 not allowed with the right hand, 32:34 yatamassa yes, it is also not allowed 32:40 to touch it with his right hand. 32:45 Touching one's penis with the right 32:48 hand, or holding the penis with the 32:50 right hand, is not allowed. But you 32:53 must use the left hand, yes. So that is 32:57 one of the ethics in our, uh, our 33:01 manners in purification. It is 33:07 forbidden to hold our private parts 33:09 with the right hand, but it must be 33:11 held with the left hand. Now, the duty 33:13 of the right hand is to rinse it with 33:16 water. Yes. Lastly, the hadith of Aisha 33:27 . A hadith from Aisha, may Allah be 33:32 pleased with her, she informed that the 33:34 Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant 33:36 him peace, liked to start from the 33:40 right. The Prophet made it a habit in 33:45 his activities to prioritize the right 33:48 side; when he put on his sandals, he 33:50 would put on the right foot first, then 33:53 the left. Likewise, when he, uh, combed 33:59 his hair, he would start from the right 34:01 side, then the left. Similarly, in 34:11 matters of purification, yes. Wudu, for 34:14 example, the right hand first, then the 34:16 left hand, yes. Right foot first, then 34:19 the left foot. And in everything, he 34:23 always prioritized the right side, yes, 34:29 and only then would he use the left 34:32 hand. That is all for our study this 34:35 evening, brothers and sisters. 34:37 Hopefully, there is some benefit in it. 34:39 Wabillahi tawfiq wal hidayah. 34:41 Wassalamu'alaikum warahmatullahi 34:43 wabarakatuh. 34:45 >> Wa'alaikumussalam warahmatullahi 34:47 wabarakatuh. Our study, Al-Marjan, 34:51 delivered by Dr. K.H. PBNU regarding 34:56 the etiquette of purification. 34:58 >> It cannot be heard. 35:00 >> How is it, can you hear it? Yes. 35:03 >> Yes. 35:03 >> Is the sound audible now? 35:06 >> It cannot be heard. It cannot be heard. 35:09 >> Hello. 35:10 >> How is it, Ustaz? Ustaz, now? 35:14 >> Try, try. 35:15 >> Operator, please 35:18 >> fix the sound, fix the sound. 35:20 >> Hello, Ustaz. 35:20 >> Hello, Ustaz. How is it now? Hello. 35:23 Okay. 35:23 >> Alright. Can you hear? 35:24 >> Alright, Ustaz. 35:25 >> Alright, Ustaz. Many have come in via 35:27 WhatsApp 081199. The brothers and 35:31 sisters who have sent WhatsApp messages 35:33 . Thank you very much, brothers and 35:34 sisters. Here is Mr. Mitra in South 35:37 Tangerang who is listening. Thank you, 35:40 Ustaz, for your time. There is also Mr. 35:43 Budono who is listening, and the next 35:46 greeting from Mr. Maruki, there is also 35:49 Mr. Hendra Saputra, also Mr. Bambang, 35:52 Mr. Hasan is listening, Mrs. Hajjah Ida 35:59 is also listening today, and Nuro is 36:01 also listening this evening. 36:05 >> How is it, Ustaz? How is it, Ustaz, is 36:07 the voice clear here? No, it's very 36:09 small. Very small. 36:11 >> Very small. Masyaallah. 36:12 >> We are trying to improve the sound 36:14 quality. But the volume is already at 36:17 full, Ustaz. 36:18 >> Yes. 36:19 >> Yes. 36:19 >> We can continue with the questions that 36:22 have come in. 36:23 >> Yes. Yes, already. 36:24 >> Alright. 36:25 >> From Mr. Ramadan in Sukabumi. Ustaz, I 36:28 will read the first one. 36:31 Assalamu'alaikum warahmatullahi 36:32 wabarakatuh, Ustaz Mubarok. 36:34 >> Wa'alaikumussalam. Ustaz, is it true 36:38 that a person who always maintains wudu 36:41 automatically has greater merit than 36:43 someone who only does wudu when they 36:45 are about to pray? How can we 36:48 understand the merit of maintaining 36:50 purification without belittling other 36:52 deeds, Ustaz? Yes, alright. Alright. A 36:56 person who maintains wudu is said to be 37:02 part of virtuous deeds. Yes, it is 37:08 mentioned that there are several good 37:13 deeds that are routinely performed by 37:16 pious people. Among them is maintaining 37:22 wudu, keeping one’s wudu continuously 37:25 , yes. Then congregational prayer is 37:28 included yes, that is considered very 37:33 good. Now, don't misunderstand this 37:36 wudu. Many people are wrong, yes, in 37:39 doing it by holding back wanting to 37:44 urinate but holding it in so that their 37:45 wudu doesn't break holding in a bowel 37:49 movement, that is not right, that is 37:51 wrong. So if you need to urinate, just 37:55 go, yes, it's better for your health 37:59 than holding in urine, holding in... 38:05 that's healthy, yes, if you want to 38:07 urinate, just go and do wudu again; 38:09 that's what wudu is. Don't be mistaken, 38:13 many people are wrong everywhere, and 38:15 as a result, it leads to illnesses. 38:19 >> There are stones in the tract, yes, 38:22 stones in the kidneys or in the urinary 38:26 tract. Yes, that’s because they often 38:29 hold it in, claiming to maintain their 38:31 wudu; that’s not how it works. Just 38:33 finish your wudu normally; if we need 38:36 to urinate, then urinate, if we need to 38:38 defecate, then defecate, and do wudu 38:41 again later, like that, yes. Thank you. 38:44 So those are among the good things, yes 38:46 . Okay. Okay. 38:48 >> Yes. Yes. Let's just continue. Just 38:50 continue, yes. To the next WhatsApp 38:52 from Ibu Nurul. Peace be upon you, and 38:54 Allah's mercy and blessings, Ustaz. 38:56 >> Peace be upon you, and Allah's mercy 38:57 and blessings, 38:58 >> Ustaz. Is there, Ustaz, someone who 39:00 doesn't memorize the prayers while 39:02 washing the parts for wudu? Is it valid 39:04 and can it be replaced with prayers 39:06 other than the ones intended? For 39:08 example, just saying "Bismillah" from 39:10 beginning to end. Is that allowed, yes? 39:14 Those prayers are just sunnah. The 39:16 prayers, those prayers are sunnah, yes. 39:18 Yes, so it's okay, if it's okay, yes. 39:22 Yes, that's included, yes. Allahuati 39:27 that is the prayer before wudu. If you 39:30 haven't, yes. Yes, like that, thank you 39:34 . 39:35 >> Alright. Next, we will move on to the 39:39 WhatsApp sent by Mr. Hendra Saputri in 39:42 Depok. Ustaz. Peace be upon you, and 39:44 Allah's mercy and blessings. 39:47 >> Ustaz, 39:49 >> Ustaz, I often see people doing wudu 39:51 using a lot of water even though the 39:53 place is limited. How does Islam teach 39:57 the etiquette of using water when 39:59 purifying oneself, Ustaz? 40:01 >> That is all. 40:04 >> Alright. That is wasteful behavior yes. 40:18 "Wa innal mubadhirina kanu 40:19 ikhwanash-shayatin." Those who are 40:23 wasteful are the brothers of devils, 40:24 according to the Quran. So it is not 40:27 allowed. The Prophet once met Saad. Who 40:33 was doing wudu. The Prophet said, "O 40:37 Saad, why are you being excessive in 40:39 using water?""Why do you not save water 40:44 ?" Saad asked, "O Messenger of Allah, 40:47 is there wastefulness even in wudu?" 40:49 The Prophet said, "Yes, there is."" 40:52 >> You must not be wasteful with water 40:56 even if you are doing wudu next to a 40:58 flowing river." That is a big river. 41:04 Still, when doing wudu, you must 41:06 conserve water and not be excessive, 41:08 because that is the religion; because 41:11 water crises are also very dangerous, 41:14 yes, so we are commanded to do wudu 41:16 moderately and not excessively. Thank 41:19 you. 41:21 >> Next, we move on to Mr. Yoga Permana in 41:24 Depok. Peace be upon you, and Allah's 41:27 mercy and blessings. 41:29 >> Waalaikumsalam warahmatullahi 41:31 wabarakatuh Ustaz, how how do we 41:34 determine if the impurity on our 41:36 clothes or body has been removed 41:38 completely? How do we ensure it, Ustaz? 41:42 Well, it depends on the impurity. If it 41:47 is a light impurity (mukhafafah), it is 41:49 enough to just sprinkle it with water. 41:52 For moderate impurity (mutawasitah), it 41:56 must be washed with water. So it 42:01 removes the substance of the impurity, 42:06 removes its color, removes its smell, 42:08 only then it is pure. If it still has a 42:13 smell, it means it is not yet pure, or 42:15 if the form of the impurity substance 42:17 still remains, it is not pure yet. It 42:21 must be gone, yes. So the substance of 42:25 the impurity is removed, then the color 42:27 of the impurity is gone, the smell is 42:29 gone, and the taste is gone. 42:32 >> The taste. 42:32 >> Yes, only then is it pure. Thank you. 42:36 >> It depends on the type of impurity, 42:38 Ustaz. The impurity, yes. 42:41 >> Next, we we have one from Bambang 42:44 Suprianto in Sukabumi. Asalamualaikum 42:46 warahmatullahi wabarakatuh, 42:50 >> Ustaz. Ustaz, at home it might be easy 42:53 to keep the bathroom clean, but when we 42:56 are at work or traveling, we sometimes 42:59 find it difficult to find clean water. 43:03 What is the Islamic guidance when 43:05 facing such a situation, Ustaz? 43:07 >> Yes, exactly. 43:09 >> Alright. I often bring water in a small 43:20 plastic bottle. 43:22 >> Hmm. 43:23 >> Yes. Well, often in bathrooms, offices, 43:29 and so on, it's not clean, right? And 43:33 often it splashes, that urine. That 43:40 means the impurity will spread. So, we 43:43 use the water I brought; that is 43:45 usually what I do. If not, I take a 43:49 tissue then I wet that tissue with 43:51 clean water. Then we urinate and pour [ 43:57 the water] while squeezing the tissue 43:59 so the water is pure. That is a 44:03 requirement we must follow. Because 44:05 sometimes it happens, it splashes 44:07 everywhere, that urine means it becomes 44:10 an impurity. Splashing onto pants makes 44:13 it impure. So, one must be careful. We 44:17 cannot be careless in our purification 44:19 from urine. Many people urinate, and 44:27 purifying just by shaking it off is not 44:30 right. It must be rinsed with water. 44:33 Well, when rinsing, don't let it, what 44:35 is it called? Splash everywhere, yes. 44:39 It must be tidy 44:41 >> until it reaches the place provided for 44:44 us to urinate. Thank you. Alright, 44:53 still from WhatsApp messages coming in 44:56 from listener Iwan, this one is from 44:59 Nur in West Jakarta. 45:05 >> Alright, Ustaz. Alright, Ust. From Nur 45:07 Aisah in West Jakarta. Asalamualaikum 45:09 warahmatullahi wabarakatuh. 45:10 >> Waalaikumsalam warahmatullahi 45:12 wabarakatuh. Ustaz, nowadays many 45:15 people use wet wipes or cleaning 45:17 liquids or other modern hygiene 45:19 products to clean themselves. Under 45:23 what circumstances can these items be 45:25 used for purification, Ustaz? And when 45:28 is water still required by Islamic law? 45:31 That is the question. 45:32 >> Yes. There are indeed some types of 45:37 tissues that are quite thick. Yes, 45:42 those are usually pure. It is 45:47 permissible after we, uh, urinate, yes, 45:50 to clean and dry it with that. Yes. 45:55 >> Yes, with tissue, or likewise after 45:57 defecating, it is the same. In a proper 46:00 bathroom, there is tissue for after 46:03 defecating which is thicker, yes. There 46:06 is tissue for after urinating. 46:09 >> Yes, using that is allowed because the 46:12 tissue provided is clean, yes, like 46:14 that. But remember, do not let it get 46:21 splashed, so ensure the contents are 46:23 truly pure. Thank you. 46:27 >> Alright Ustaz, for the last question. 46:28 >> The last question, Ustaz, yes. 46:30 >> The last one, from Mr. Mulyadi in East 46:32 Jakarta. Ustaz, peace be upon you and 46:34 Allah's mercy and blessings. And peace 46:36 be upon you and Allah's mercy and 46:37 blessings. 46:39 >> Ustaz, there are people who, when 46:41 performing wudu, only wet some of their 46:43 hair or body parts because they are in 46:45 such a hurry. Uh, is their wudu valid 46:49 if there are parts that are not touched 46:52 by water, Ustaz? That is the question. 46:56 >> If the part not touched by water is 46:57 part of the pillars of wudu, then the 46:59 wudu is invalid. 47:01 >> Yes. For example, the hand does not 47:03 reach the elbow, that's it. But if it 47:06 concerns the sunnah (recommended) 47:08 aspects, the wudu remains valid. For 47:10 example, a person does not rinse their 47:12 mouth because they are in a hurry, it 47:14 is still valid. 47:16 >> Yes. Not performing istinsha (clearing 47:18 the nose), because that is a sunnah, 47:19 yes. But that which is mandatory or 47:22 classified as a pillar of wudu cannot 47:24 be left out. 47:25 >> It must be done. 47:25 >> Yes. So if it is left out, the result 47:27 is that the wudu is invalid. If the 47:29 wudu is invalid, then the prayer is 47:30 invalid, and so on. H. 47:32 >> Yes. Thank you. 47:34 >> Alright Ustaz, we are limited by time; 47:36 perhaps before we say goodbye, Ustaz, 47:38 could you summarize our theme, Ustaz? 47:40 Very well. 47:41 >> Conclusion. 47:42 >> Alright brothers and sisters whom we 47:44 love, that the etiquette of 47:47 purification in Islam is very important 47:49 . Yes. Because with that etiquette, we 47:54 will carry out purification activities 47:57 well, in accordance with religious 47:59 guidance, so the result is also good. 48:05 First, not getting splashed by impurity 48:07 . Second, the way we clean ourselves is 48:12 also in accordance with religious 48:14 guidance. For example, when we wash our 48:18 private parts, then we hold with the 48:21 left hand, and pour water with the 48:24 right hand, for instance, yes. So that 48:27 is very important in the etiquette of 48:29 purification. That is all, hopefully it 48:31 is useful, and I apologize for any 48:33 mistakes. Peace be upon you and Allah's 48:36 mercy and blessings. 48:38 >> And peace be upon you and Allah's mercy 48:40 and blessings. We have just listened to 48:43 the evening tausiah on the study of the 48:46 Kitab Al-Waljan presented by Dr. K. 48:51 PBNU which was delivered. Useful. And 49:02 also. And Allah's mercy and blessings.
