- Rasil TV also joined us for a Q&A
- session on this morning's sermon with
- Ustaz Ahmad Jazuli Kholil. I will read
- the first question from Ibu Albar in
- Cikarang. Ustaz, peace be upon you. And
- peace be upon you,
- Ustaz. I happen to be entrusted as the
- head of the religious study group in my
- neighborhood. The problem recently is
- that one of the congregants left and
- joined a Salafi study group. I don't
- mind that. The problem is that he told
- one of the congregants who is still
- joining my study group that our study
- group is unclear and full of
- innovations. He suggested that rather
- than being left in limbo, he invite him
- to join his study group. What do you
- think, Ustaz? What should I do? Thank
- you. Thank you.
- Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. Ee, indeed,
- we hope that mothers or fathers,
- whoever they are, will join our ee
- taklim. Because we believe that what we
- do is good, what we do is right. Now,
- when there are people who are different
- from us, even though we don't blame
- them, at least this choice we have in
- it is the best. Meaning that what there
- is less than good, right? Well, vice
- versa, those there think that what we
- do is seen by them as less than good,
- not good, not even just less. So it
- could be that it was using the term
- bid'ah. So naturally he is also happy
- if the people who study the Koran in
- our congregation follow him. Which
- party doesn't want more followers,
- right now, they are also fighting and
- want everyone to support them, that's
- how it is in this religion too. So what
- is your attitude now towards them, in
- their preaching, that is their right.
- You just have to protect them, ee, your
- congregation, okay? If necessary,
- invite that person to discuss with you.
- Show me where the mistakes or
- shortcomings are. But usually, ma'am,
- if you go there and join a Salafi group
- , invite them to a discussion, they
- won't want to. Even if we invite them
- to sit together, they won't want to.
- Fatik, right? Ustaz. Yes. They won't
- want to. Hey, there's this preaching,
- it's similar to congregational Islam,
- with Wahabi and others. Namely, if you
- meet a tiger, what do you do? Run. This
- means if you meet someone with a small
- head and a big belly, then guide them.
- Because they're stupid. Stupid people
- are easily influenced. But if you meet
- someone with a big head and a small
- belly, it means they have a lot of
- content in their heads. Just stay away.
- Why? Well, it's not that the person
- will be influenced, but you could be
- carried away later. Well, this is what
- you need to convey to your friends in
- Islam, ma'am. Can we be sure that what
- we believe, what we understand now is
- right, and then they are wrong? In
- reality, only God knows. That's what we
- think. We are the ones who are right.
- But so too, according to them, they are
- the ones who are right, we are the ones
- who are wrong. So, now, to find out, ee
- , for simplicity, ee, for simplicity,
- one of Imam Ghazali explained that one
- of the traits that causes someone to be
- veiled from the truth is when that
- person is taasub, namely fanaticism
- towards one school of thought. If
- fanaticism towards a school of thought
- can become a veil from the truth, let
- alone fanaticism towards a teacher.
- That's why in Islam, it's not right to
- be fanatic towards a school of thought,
- fanaticism towards a teacher.
- Fanaticism towards Islam, yes.
- Fanaticism towards a school of thought,
- fanaticism towards a teacher is wrong,
- yes. Not allowed. Therefore, here we
- can understand, yes, that if we study
- with a kiai, this kiai has no problem
- with us studying with anyone, and even
- encourages you to study the Koran. It
- doesn't have to be with me. If there's
- a kiai, kiai, go ahead and study the
- Koran. So what if the kiai has a
- different opinion from you? You have
- reason, you have feelings, you have a
- heart. Later, you can compare what's
- appropriate and what's not. Well, if
- that kiai or teacher gives us the
- freedom to learn from A, B, or C, go
- ahead. Then choose the right one.
- Whichever you believe is good, take it.
- If it's not suitable, just leave it.
- Follow that kiai, that teacher. But if
- there's a ustaz or kiai who forbids his
- students from studying anywhere else
- except with him or with ustaz from his
- group, you shouldn't study. Why? That's
- being forced to follow the teacher.
- Well, that will make you live an
- exclusive life. You can't mingle with
- others, only with your group. Usually,
- people like this, because they only
- know one thing, usually have a narrow
- understanding, and they end up imposing
- their will, and that's a characteristic
- of them, because they're so pushy they
- don't want to respect other people's
- opinions. And I'll tell you all about
- this, Mom. So, if we attack that person
- , it's not because that's their right.
- Ah, faman sa amanawan saa kafar. Those
- who want to believe, please believe,
- those who want to disbelieve, please
- disbelieve, those who want to convert,
- please do so, those who don't, it's up
- to you. That's it. And Allah knows best
- .
- Okay. Hey, God willing, the answers
- from Ustaz are clear. I will move on to
- the next question from Didi in Bogor.
- Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi
- wabarakatuh, Ustaz.
- And I heard Ustaz say that people who
- enjoin good and forbid evil have bad
- relations with their surroundings.
- Please explain it more clearly, Ustaz.
- Okay, congregation, may Allah bless you
- . Hey, usually people always invite
- their community to do good, and also
- prevent people from doing evil, for
- example, those who don't wear
- decorative headscarves are immediately
- reminded. Those who don't want to study
- the Koran are advised. Even though in
- our community, there are many like that
- . Try comparing those who study the
- Koran with those who don't, most of
- them don't. Those who pray in
- congregation with those who don't, most
- of them don't. Maybe those who pray
- with those who don't pray also don't.
- Well, if someone is a person who
- commands good and forbids evil, it will
- be like that. Look, those who don't
- wear headscarves are immediately
- advised and reprimanded. Well, they
- meet again tomorrow and they'll be
- advised again. Later, people won't like
- it. Well, there's no liking, that's
- what I mean. So if people really always
- invite people to goodness when they
- don't do good, when they make mistakes,
- they are immediately reminded by us, we
- are usually not liked by our society.
- But they admit we are good people. Hm.
- Like that. They admit we are good
- people, but they usually don't like us.
- In general. Because generally people
- want to be free to do whatever they
- want. So it doesn't mean that we will
- be bad in the eyes of the Prophet
- Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam,
- because Abu Sufyan, Abu Jahal, didn't
- like us, because of what? When Abu
- Sufyan was asked by this Roman king, eh
- , is he from a good tribe? Has he ever
- done anything? Lied. Never. H. So if,
- for example, it is said that he is a
- good person, a good person and so on.
- But we don't like that. Don't like what
- ? Because generally, if people are
- corrected, especially those who correct
- them are easier. Children again, eh,
- don't want to acknowledge the
- children's advantages. You're so
- annoyed that you invite me like this.
- You circumcised me, the one who is my
- servant. That's how it is. Yes. Asking
- people is like that, right?
- Yes, that's right, Ustaz. That's what
- it means. And Allah knows best.
- Okay. This name is still related to the
- previous question. Servant of Allah
- Ustaz, peace be upon you,
- warahmatullahi wabarakatuh. And Allah
- knows best.
- Ee hisbah or amar makruf nahi mungkar
- means we invite to goodness and forbid
- evil. Ustaz, what if we have tried to
- prevent gossip and incitement among
- people, for example? Sometimes the
- person we invite to goodness and
- prevent from evil instead criticizes
- and gets angry with us. Are we sinning
- because of their anger, even though it
- is one of our parents whom we should
- respect? Should we still prevent them
- or allow things that we do not need in
- this case? Please answer.
- Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. That is why I
- said earlier that the Torah explains
- that if someone likes to enjoin good
- and evil, usually their position among
- their people is not good. That is
- because generally, it is difficult to
- invite people to be right. If invited
- to be smart, God willing, if invited to
- be smart, it is not difficult, but
- invited to be right is difficult. That
- is why the education taught by the
- Prophet was how to form a righteous
- society first. If people are right,
- invited to be smart is easy, but if
- people are smart, invited to be right
- is difficult. Yes. Well. Now, the risk
- of those who preach is like that.
- That's why the Prophet said, "Whoever
- shows people goodness will get a reward
- like the one who does it without
- diminishing anything. Just showing them
- . Hey, there's a religious study there
- every day. Come on, try reciting the
- Quran. He who doesn't recite the Quran
- gets a reward. The one who just shows
- them gets a reward too. Moreover, when
- it's like that, he'll think, 'I tell
- people to recite the Quran. I don't
- recite the Quran. What will people say?
- ''He'll think,' It's enough to invite
- them first, to preach first. 'And the
- risk is that the person who invites
- them to goodness will be scolded by
- people, or even hated. Well, that's how
- it is. Getting extraordinary value from
- Allah is a risk. Well, wama alaina
- illal balagul mubin. Yes, there is no
- obligation for us except to convey the
- law as it is. The problem is that what
- we convey is accepted or not depends on
- how we convey it. Yes, that's the first
- thing. The most important thing is
- whether Allah is willing to provide
- guidance or not. This is the most
- important thing. But we are people who
- give advice, people who preach must pay
- attention to how they preach. But the
- person being preached to should not pay
- attention to how the person preaches,
- but what their goals are. It's just
- that this is difficult. I was in the
- village there at my in-laws' place.
- There was an old man who often advised
- us like this. If someone nags us, it's
- a sign that the person still loves us,
- don't get angry, he said. Yes, that's a
- sign that he loves us. Because his
- teachers also said that. When he was
- reprimanded, he sulked because he
- didn't pray Friday prayers there. So he
- only said that in his mouth. Well, the
- story is that when he prayed, he
- recited Surah Ad-Duha with the wrong
- word, namely ee wawajadaka dolan fahada
- wajadaka ailan faagna with saila, yes,
- it was always read wrong. So when he
- read wawajadaka lan fada wawajadaka
- ailan. Well, the ailan is read using
- hamzah first, then ain. Hmm. Then the
- saila is also used ain. Not saila but
- saila, right? The meaning is already
- all over the place. Well, this person,
- the people there, like to grumble after
- praying. But no one dares to speak up.
- When corrected, no one dares. Why? Well
- , they tend to get angry when corrected
- . I said this, actually, maybe our way,
- maybe that's why I came to his house,
- Sir. I said, I came here besides
- maintaining friendship, there are two
- things too. There's one other thing I
- want to say. What? I want to apologize,
- " Bak, sorry, what did you do wrong, Ji
- ? "he said. Well, it's not like that,
- Sir. I said, I heard Baba say that if
- you read this surah Adduha, there are
- two mistakes. Well, that's why I just
- wanted to remind you, right? Ee which
- one did you say ji? The first one is ee
- wawajadaka ailan. Well, that man likes
- to read ailan using hamzah. Ain first
- then hamzah. Ailan. If I read ailan
- backwards. So I think badi read it
- wrong. like that. Even though I
- reversed the situation, yeah. I
- reversed it, but I just blamed myself.
- Well, well, after that, when I got home
- , I checked the Quran, it turned out I
- was wrong, sir. I said. So I came here
- to apologize. Yes, bro. It's okay, sir.
- Good, Ji. You said you looked at the
- Quran. If not, you keep making mistakes
- . That's right. Yes, yes. It's okay.
- It's okay, he said. ee what's it called
- ? If the oath is like that, you're only
- supposed to check it first, don't just
- talk about it. Likewise, if no one
- reads the wrong one, he said you remind
- him, right? Well, then the second bag
- is only sir, the second one is my turn,
- the one who's right is sir, like that,
- abah, baba, who's wrong, which one is
- ji, he said waamsaila. If I read wamila
- using hamzah, Baba reads saila like
- that using ain. Ah, so I was wrong ji.
- Yes, that's what I said. Ah, so then
- one by one, Sir. I said, I was one or
- the other. If someone feels wrong,
- there's a friend who's wrong too, he
- doesn't know what it's called, right?
- That means you and I are the same,
- right? Eh, yeah, he said. Wow, I didn't
- look anymore, he said, Ji. Yes,
- apparently after I got home, thank you
- Ji, he said you remembered me, he said.
- Yes, Sir. He said you're welcome, I
- also forgive you, Miss, I've already
- thought about it, Sir, it's okay, he
- said that. Well, the story ended with
- the Maghrib prayer reading the Ad-Duha
- surah. That person read both of them
- correctly. The one earlier, until Mas
- Aar said, it's unusual, he said he read
- it correctly, huh. It's unusual to read
- it correctly. Finally, I said, so
- actually, this person isn't sulking,
- Sir, our way is like that, maybe
- there's a way. Let us lie a little, the
- important thing is that the Quran is
- not damaged like that. Heeh. So that's
- probably what the questioner said
- earlier. Heeh. It's okay to know for
- your parents, Ustaz. Tell your parents.
- Yes, it was your parents who gave it to
- you, right? Don't let this ever happen
- to you where I am. Ustaz, I want to ask
- something. Yes. If your parents don't
- pray, what are our obligations? Ustaz
- said. Yes, we tell them, invite them
- nicely. Be careful, but ee wala tak uf.
- Don't just say hus like that, because
- wasohibhuma fid dunya ma'rufa, right?
- If they invite you but you don't want
- to pray, ask Allah to set an example
- for you and keep asking Allah not to
- offend them. So, what else? Nothing.
- That's all. Ask Allah to give you what
- is called tawfiq, okay? And we continue
- to set an example by inviting them, no
- need to give them advice, because our
- parents already know the truth. There
- is no other way than that, I said
- nothing. In the end, it doesn't matter,
- Ustaz, I was studying the Koran, then
- someone said something like this," If
- you've told your parents to pray but
- they don't want to, then don't ask for
- the second step. If we don't ask them,
- but they still don't want to pray, then
- we'll kick them out, that's fine. We'll
- just kick them out of our house, okay?
- "I was wondering," Is it true, Ustaz,
- that we children can kick our parents
- out even if they don't pray? "I said,"
- That Ustaz is stupid, why are they
- kicking them out? "Don't listen to me,
- don't listen to me.""We've tried to
- persuade them, right? If it doesn't
- work, then there's no blessing from
- Allah." That's why we should set an
- example by inviting them nicely by
- showing them our good behavior, God
- willing, it will change. Don't invite
- them directly, what's it called,
- directly, don't want them to, just like
- that, where are we, what's it called,
- our struggle, it's good, we're not
- being attacked by the Prophet, he was
- attacked and so on, so it's gradual.
- Well, it's not right if parents just
- because they're invited to pray don't
- want to, then they're thrown out. Even
- the last person like that is said to be
- killed, it's okay. This is what I said,
- wow, this is crazy, this is a sign,
- don't listen to what I said, stop
- studying the Koran with him, find
- another ustaz. I didn't tell you to
- study the Koran with me, don't look for
- a real one. How could parents be killed
- , I'm like that, ma'am. Eh, Brother, so
- that's the risk of people who preach,
- right? Like that. But don't give up.
- Don't give up. God knows best.
- Okay. One last question, Ustaz. In
- short, this is from the servant of
- Allah, Ustaz who asked. Earlier Ustaz
- has said that to uphold amar makruf
- nahi mungkar there are specific
- criteria. I consider myself still very
- new, Ustaz. Then if there are already
- other people who have carried out the
- amar makruf nahi mungkar, does my
- obligation to follow suit, ee follow
- along in carrying out the amar makruf
- nahi mukkar?
- Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. In the verse,
- it is like this, yes, walakum minkum
- ummah nih. Wal takum minkum ummatun
- yaduna ilaliruna bilufanil munkar waul
- muflihun. There should be a group of
- people among you, so Allah says. Well,
- it doesn't mean all of you, not between
- you. So here, amar makruf nahi mungkar
- clearly means the law is fardu kifayah.
- Not all of us have to amar makruf nahi
- mungkar. No. So if there is someone who
- has already amar ma'ruf, then the
- obligation for others is finished.
- Likewise If someone has done it, then
- the evil has also fallen from other
- people because someone has already done
- it. It's like that huh. So, the law is
- fardu kifayah. Ah. Well, at least
- that's how it is for us in our family,
- right? So that's it, Mother, yes, the
- law is fardu kifayah. Not all of us
- have to act makruf nahi ungkar, yes,
- but some of us do. Hopefully Allah
- Subhanahu wa Taala will grant us long
- life in obedience to Him. Allah bestows
- grace, taufik and guidance on our
- children and grandchildren so that we
- can be steadfast in carrying out His
- commands. and the prohibition of
