- beneficial things. Among them is thabul
- ilmi, namely seeking knowledge as we
- are currently doing. Alhamdulillah
- every Friday at 00 noon we are present
- in the Ikhwan and Akhwat listening room
- with a women's fiqh session with our
- teacher Ustazah Herlini Amran. She has
- been present among us even though it is
- still hybrid. We are in our respective
- places even though virtually we are at
- Al-Aqsa Mosque. Pray that all of us who
- listen can also visit Aqsa later.
- Masyaallah. Let us first greet our
- teacher Ustazah Helini Amran. Peace be
- upon you, Ustazah. And may
- Allah bless you all.
- Masyaallah. Pray for us, Ustazah, so
- that we can all visit Alaqsa, Ustazah.
- We pray that the Al-Aqsa Mosque in
- Baitul Maqdis will soon be free, Tah.
- Amen. Amen. Yes, and it is currently in
- full swing, Ustazah. Hopefully, the
- martyrs will also be accepted in the
- best side by Allah Subhanahu wa taala.
- Amen. Okay, Ustazah. God willing, for
- approximately 1.5 hours, the theme that
- will be raised is only about old age,
- namely 10 things that cause our old age
- to be more blessed. Tafadol Ustazah.
- Jazakallah. Thank you, Mbak Olin.
- Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.

- given healing.
- Amen.
- In a state of grief, may Allah comfort
- her, may Allah replace the best. We
- pray for those who are in difficulty,
- may Allah lift their difficulties. We
- pray for our oppressed brothers and
- sisters on this earth, may Allah give
- them victory, may Allah remove them
- from all their life problems. We pray
- that the strength of the Muslim ukhuwah
- will be re-established. God willing,
- may Allah give us blessings, mercy,
- forgiveness, grace, and love. May Allah
- broaden our sustenance and may Allah
- grant us the most beautiful ending,
- husnul khatimah, God willing. Our theme
- this morning, this afternoon on this
- Friday, blessed by Allah, is ee related
- to ee how our old age will be more
- blessed. Yes, we certainly want our old
- age to be filled with beauty, right,
- Ms. Olin. So there will be 10 things,
- of which there are actually many, but
- these 10 things are just a summary so
- that we can make our old age a blessed,
- beautiful, and beneficial old age.
- Insyaallah ee we know that old age
- cannot be avoided by anyone, no matter
- what. Sometimes it is worrying, Miss,
- yes. ee for some people, yes, they used
- to be beautiful, now they are wrinkled.
- Indeed, ee this old age will definitely
- come, this phase will definitely come,
- physical strength will gradually
- decrease, yes. Eye sharpness begins to
- decrease. Ms. Oli used to not wear
- glasses, yes, now she wears glasses.
- That's right. That's right. need a tool
- to see yes hearing has started to
- decline yes or something yes
- old or ustazah
- oh there she is oh God
- Meanwhile the skin is also sagging, yes
- , it's starting to not be as firm as it
- used to be, yes. Lines of aging have
- started to appear, yes. Maybe the lines
- between our eyebrows have started to
- wrinkle, yes. Hair has also started to
- turn white, has started to decorate our
- heads, yes. Even diseases, uh,
- degenerative diseases have also started
- to appear at this phase. If Buya Hamka
- said that we like to hear Mbak Lin, yes
- , when hair or when hair starts to gray
- , yes, energy starts to decrease, yes,
- skin starts to sag, vision starts to
- blur, teeth start to fall out like that
- . That's ee very beautiful language yes
- . Well, this is where old age begins.
- If we see and hear the word of Allah in
- surah Almukmin verse 67 eh Allah said
- azubillahyairim. musammaun. So, Allah
- explains in Surah Al-Mukmin verse ee 67
- that it is Allah, He who created man
- from dust, then from a drop of semen,
- then from a clot of blood, then He
- brought you forth as children, then He
- left you alive until you reached
- maturity, yes. Then He left you alive
- until you reached old age. Some of you
- died before that. We did this so that
- you might reach your appointed term and
- that you might understand. Subhanallah.
- So this verse explains our old age,
- which is part of the final phase that
- humans face. Starting from a drop of
- semen, then successively, yes,
- gradually until old age. Well, this
- verse also says tumma litakunu syuko.
- Then He left you alive until old age.
- So this is indeed our time, getting
- older every month, every year, right,
- Sis. Before we were unmarried, we got
- married, then we had children. The
- children gradually grew up, then we got
- married, and the children then had
- children too. So, what we used to be
- was a virgin, then we became
- grandmothers, then grandfathers. And so
- on. Well, of course, you are then
- allowed to live until old age. Well,
- regarding the age limit of old age,
- Imam Alqurtubi rahimahullah once said
- that an old person is a shukh, someone
- who has passed the age of 40.
- Masyaallah. Are you almost 40, Miss Oli
- ?
- Is it past, Ustazah?
- It's past, right? Masyaallah. It's far
- past.
- Masyaallah. This means that you have
- passed the age of shukh, yes, you have
- entered the age of over 40. Well,
- especially when we hear from the hadith
- of Abu Hurairah radhiallahu anhu that
- the Prophet said, "Umtiin." So,
- waqumajuz. So, the age of my people is
- between 60 and 70. Few of them exceed
- that. So, there's a bonus for those who
- are 70 years old and above. Well, we
- will reach our final years. This is
- what is called old age. Especially in
- the Yasin letter that we always read,
- right? Usually on Friday or Friday
- night, right. Whoever we extend the
- life of, we will return him to his own
- destiny, so will they not reflect? So
- it means when we were young, when we
- were approaching old age, when we were
- old we would return. So it means like
- children, yes, we are kept away, we
- avoid, hopefully, God forbid, don't let
- it become worse as we get older, right,
- Mbak Oli. God forbid. Don't let us be
- old, starting our twilight years,
- thinking only of wealth, only position,
- or only a partner, ee, to indulge our
- lusts, yes, to prove that I am still
- young even though I am old. This is
- what we avoid. Even in the hadith, it
- is mentioned that there are still
- people who are old. So when they are
- getting old, what is it that in their
- hearts is like a young person, what is
- it that they love? Long dreams and love
- of wealth. So let's see, maybe there
- are those who have entered old age who
- apologize for remarrying. Even though
- physically, in terms of energy, maybe
- in terms of attention, ee, is
- decreasing, quote, yes. There could be
- an ambition to prove that even though
- they are old, their spirits are still
- young. This is careful because we are
- worried that when we do that, due to
- our lust, we will leave many traces of
- sin or sin that flow, responsibilities
- that we neglect, injustice towards our
- families, many things. So, eh, in the
- narrations, it is also mentioned that
- there are people who are old but their
- desires are like those of young people
- in two ways. Greed for wealth and long
- dreams. It seems like they want to live
- long. So they give vent to their lusts
- as if old age is allowed, but their
- enthusiasm is no less than that of
- young people. Nauzubillah minzalik. We
- don't want to be like that. When that
- time happens, nauzubillah, what will
- happen when Allah takes his life? His
- age, nauzubillah, ee...It's sad, Mbak
- Olin, when on the Day of Judgment we
- only hope for Allah's mercy, Allah's
- forgiveness, Allah's love. It turns out
- that God doesn't talk to us. No. W
- yuzakihim, did not clean them even if
- ilaihim. Don't even look at them. Even
- if you are pious. For them it is a
- painful torment. Oh my God, that's
- really, really sad. Where today we have
- no more protection than Allah's
- protection. Hope only in Allah. Ask for
- forgiveness for our sins and mistakes.
- Just hope in Allah that at that time
- Allah doesn't care about us. Doesn't
- clean us, doesn't look at us. Even
- painful torture. Who are those three?
- Among them is Syikhun Zanin, an old man
- who commits adultery. So in his old age
- it wasn't the pious deeds that he
- brought, that he collected, that he
- prepared, but what? Indulging in lust.
- Adultery, changing partners.
- Nauzubillah minzalik. That's why we
- find several cases of people dying on
- the stomachs of old prostitutes.
- Nauzubillah minzalik. Or perhaps the
- elderly still indulge in lust for the
- same sex. Nauzubillah minzalik, yes.
- Then, what else are the three people
- mentioned above, including the sikhun
- sikhun zanin, men who commit adultery.
- Then there is the wikun kadzab of
- rulers who like to lie. So, making
- empty promises, lying to the people is
- among those who do not receive mercy
- from Allah. Allah does not speak to
- them, Allah does not cleanse them,
- Allah does not look at them, and for
- them is a painful punishment. Then the
- third is the waailun mustakbirun, the
- arrogant poor. Already poor, arrogant
- too. Yes, what I mean here is that the
- arrogant poor, for example, are those
- who are already poor financially, do
- not want to pray, they are arrogant
- before Allah, do not want to follow
- Allah's commands. So that is considered
- arrogant. Well, ee listeners who are
- blessed by Allah. So, old age for a
- Muslim is both an episode and a final
- opportunity that greatly determines our
- fate in the afterlife. It is a
- beautiful time, but also full of
- anxiety because there is no other
- period of life after that except death.
- Of course, when you are old, you die.
- Although death is not actually due to
- old age, death is indeed a fate that
- has been determined by Allah, not
- because of age. But usually when Allah
- gives a long life until old age, it is
- certainly close to death. Well, if old
- age is good, the afterlife will also be
- good. But if it is bad, the afterlife
- will also be bad. So the determination
- in old age is what determines our fate
- in the afterlife. Whether it is
- beautiful or not. Well, that is why our
- discussion this time is related to 10
- things that make our old age more
- blessed. So this is what I said, Mbak
- Olin, actually not to preach because I
- am also in the process of aging, yes, I
- am old too, I am over 50, right? Ee
- means we have good luck, yes, it is
- yukhah, at least to remind myself
- personally, all of us because reminding
- each other is ee without mukminin which
- is beneficial ee for believers. God
- willing, hopefully we are among the
- faithful when reminded, hopefully we
- can immediately be aware and we can
- carry it out because we have gained a
- lot of knowledge but only a little of
- it we are able to put into practice. I
- know that, but hopefully with this
- reminder, we will be aware, take care
- of ourselves, and then try to practice
- it, God willing. The first thing, so
- that we can make our old age more
- blessed, is to revive the spirit of
- life. What do you mean? Rekindle the
- spirit of life. This is how it is, ee,
- usually elderly people lose their
- spirit, right? Especially when the
- children are grown, married, living in
- their own homes. The house that was
- once busy becomes quiet, lonely, alone
- with a partner. If indeed there is
- still a life partner, if the partner
- has gone before returning to Allah,
- left alone. Sad, right? Well, here
- usually ee there is a feeling of
- discouragement, right. So, life seems
- meaningless, just waiting for death.
- When will I die, it feels like life is
- not pleasant. Well, that's usually how
- it is. Even ee, in everyday reality,
- many people place elderly people in
- society. Usually, that's true, those of
- non-productive age are pushed aside
- from life, don't get the attention they
- deserve, are considered trivial, as if
- they are a burden. Well, this feeling
- is definitely present in the elderly.
- Well, this feeling must be fought.
- There is a revival, instill a sense of
- optimism with our enthusiasm for life.
- A strong enthusiasm for life will
- usually give birth to positive energy
- that encourages people to always be
- creative and productive. Of course,
- this can make life more meaningful, yes
- , yes. Even though we are old, we still
- feel the benefits, feel the blessings,
- there is a zest for life. Oh, but don't
- let your enthusiasm be excessive, you
- have to be self-aware. E. For me, I am
- old but young in spirit, so I end up
- trying to get married again. Instead of
- being responsible, ee, it becomes a
- burden. It could be that people want to
- marry us not because we feel young, yes
- , but because they want money, yes,
- which will eventually lead to arguments
- between our children and our wives.
- Let's take this as an example, it
- doesn't mean we can't have a partner,
- but at least we can start to realize
- that we're old. Even though we're old,
- we still have a zest for life, a
- positive zest that gives rise to
- optimism and allows us to produce works
- that are beneficial to others. But
- don't overdo it, meaning you'll create
- problems later on, just to prove that
- you're still young and have plenty of
- energy. Don't use things that you'll
- regret in the end. So, this is the
- first step in how we can have a zest
- for life. Well, if we look outside of
- Islam, for example, in countries like
- Japan, for example, when they're older,
- their children don't want to care for
- them. Eventually, their parents end up
- in nursing homes. Being in a nursing
- home means they don't want to care for
- their parents. So when this happens, a
- phenomenon like this occurs, and they
- end up feeling like there's no point in
- getting married. They feel like if they
- get married, they'll be a burden when
- they're old. Many of them don't want to
- get married. Even if we get married, it
- will be useless if we have children
- later, ee, raising children is already
- difficult, later when the children are
- grown up, they will be successful. Oh,
- we are old, eh, in a nursing home, no
- longer want to be cared for. Yes, so it
- is this materialistic life that makes
- them not want to marry. It is different
- from Islamic teachings, huh. When in
- Islam, how to be devoted to parents,
- then in Islam there are no nursing
- homes. Yes, so here we are, ee, in this
- old age, we hope that the spirit of
- life is there. Because didn't the
- Prophet say khairun nas is khairukum e
- anfaukum binnas. The best people are
- khairunas, namely those who are useful.
- Even though we are old, but if we are
- useful, that is extraordinary. So
- that's the first thing, first rekindle
- the spirit of life. Don't lose heart,
- don't want to ask for death, don't. The
- main thing is to have the spirit of
- life. At least before we leave this
- world, we want to have work that we can
- carve out. That work will be our
- charity later that we will receive
- after we are gone. Well, that can be
- done later, whether the charity can be
- adjusted to our abilities. Is our work
- included in our goodness? Well, that
- can be done. The point is, don't lose
- heart, don't ask for death. You're not
- allowed to ask for death. Except when
- we are in a serious condition, which is
- really, really, like the illness of old
- people, where they can't do anything.
- Then we can pray, "O Allah, give me
- life if life is good for me. Or, let me
- die if that's what's best for me." Well
- , that's the form of prayer. So, it's
- not a form of prayer, "O Allah, let me
- die, O Allah." Not like that. Well,
- that's the first thing. How do we
- revive our enthusiasm for life. Then
- the second is gratitude. Yes, we must
- be grateful for the various blessings
- we have received so far, we have
- received from Allah. Allah has given us
- so many blessings. Especially the
- blessing that we must be grateful for
- is the blessing of faith. The blessing
- of Islam. If we are not in Islam, in
- faith, well, maybe we are now at a loss
- , not receiving guidance, not receiving
- direction from Allah. This is an
- extraordinary blessing that Allah
- bestows upon His chosen ones, with
- which we can fill our old age with the
- best things. Yes, so the blessing of
- faith, the blessing of Islam, is an
- extraordinary blessing for which we
- should be grateful. Alhamdulillah, we
- are in a state of Islam, hopefully in a
- state of faith, God willing. Now, this
- gratitude is capable of bringing
- extraordinary vibrations, yes, which
- will have a profound effect on us. This
- gratitude will of course spread from
- our hearts to our entire bodies. This
- will ultimately affect the hormones and
- energy waves in our bodies. Besides
- being healthy, of course, the effect
- will also give us positive thoughts,
- yes. This means that if we are grateful
- and good at being grateful, God willing
- , our old age will be full of blessings
- and valuable. Isn't it true that Allah
- will increase the blessings of those
- who are grateful? So never be someone
- who is ungrateful, regretful. Imagine
- if you were not grateful for having
- children. Alhamdulillah. What about
- people who don't have children? So
- everything when we see ee with the
- glasses of gratitude, God willing, the
- next pleasures will be given by Allah.
- This is incredibly powerful. So
- lainatum laidanakum. Hopefully, ee in
- the old days that we want to be blessed
- in, we go through it with gratitude.
- Alhamdulillah, the children are now
- adults. Maybe some feel that their
- children are old enough to marry, but
- they still regret not getting married.
- Why is this just a thought that keeps
- thinking about it? We should be
- grateful, thank God, our children,
- hopefully, we hope to Allah to get a
- partner, but thank God our children are
- healthy, our children ee can ee be
- devoted to their parents. Alhamdulillah
- means be grateful. Don't look at the
- negative ee, ee see the shortcomings.
- We are grateful for everything we have.
- Alhamdulillah. Don't regret this life.
- If only my husband were still alive. If
- not, we wouldn't be like that. We are
- grateful, thank God, there must be
- wisdom here. Well, that's the second
- thing, be grateful. Always be grateful.
- Then the third is filling your time.
- Filling our time with religious studies
- , yes. With knowledge, regularly
- studying the Quran, contemplating it or
- meditating on it. Yes, at least if we
- can still read, we also read the
- translation. We can listen to religious
- studies on the radio, we can, uh, if we
- are still able to read YouTube, or
- maybe, uh, if we can still walk to the
- mosque, we can attend religious studies
- . There are lots of ustaz, right? Yes,
- if we are still able to read, we read
- tafsir books. This means, uh, studies
- that will broaden our horizons, yes.
- Because by participating in these
- religious studies, our old age will
- certainly be a blessing. Even staying
- young means being busy. In fact,
- sometimes people say, why do we get
- busier the older we get? Busy with what
- ? Busy with studying the Quran, huh.
- Masyaallah, Miss. We find some of our
- mothers who are active in religious
- studies who are already getting old,
- huh. That's an extraordinary spirit of
- life, huh. Ee, of course, besides
- attending regular religious studies, of
- course we have a lot of friends, many
- can even exercise here, Miss. I haven't
- had a chance to join the sport yet,
- Miss. What, Miss?
- Where, Ustazah?
- The sports that are being discussed are
- those
- Oh, lintikung. Lintik.
- Lintik huh. Eh, liantik what? Lintikung
- .
- Lintik
- huh. That's what most of the
- looting is like.
- Well, that means when we are active, ee
- , in positive things, yes, with the
- study, God willing, it will be a
- blessing for our lives. So we fill our
- time, not just brooding at home,
- sleeping or regretting our inactivity.
- Then not only that, pay attention to
- our obligatory deeds, yes. If at our
- age, ee, so that our old age will be a
- blessing, we pay attention to
- obligatory deeds, such as our prayers.
- Don't forget, when you hear the call to
- prayer, get ready for prayer. This is
- the obligatory thing for Ramadan
- fasting if you are strong enough. If
- you are not strong enough, then don't,
- if you can pay fidyah, yes, if it is
- not obligatory. This means paying
- attention to our obligatory deeds and
- never neglecting them. Yes, this is
- very important. Sometimes, when we were
- young, we didn't enjoy worship, Mbak
- Olin, but sometimes we neglect it in
- our old age. So, while we're still
- young, our younger siblings, our
- children are still young, we should
- enjoy worship so that our parents will
- also be diligent in worship. Sometimes
- we find people who are senile who are
- senile in their worship. They pray
- repeatedly because they forget, because
- senile people forget, right? So they
- pray, even though they've already
- prayed, and then they pray again. That
- could be because they really enjoyed
- worship when they were young. Well, we
- want that to be the case, not because
- they neglected obligatory deeds. In the
- end, what happens is what they did when
- they were young. They enjoyed watching,
- but in their old age, they also watched
- . When they were young, they counted
- money because they had a lot of money,
- and when they were senile, they counted
- money like that. So, here we want our
- days in old age to be blessed. We pay
- attention to obligatory deeds and don't
- miss anything. Then we avoid things
- that are forbidden. What are forbidden
- things? We avoid them. Yes. Yes. Of
- course, we know all this from attending
- religious studies, we gain knowledge,
- we know what is permissible and what is
- forbidden. Then we add to the
- recommended deeds. Yes, so far, we
- never forget the obligatory ones, never
- neglect them, add the recommended ones.
- Yes, there are many recommended deeds.
- Of course, we know that from the
- knowledge we always study. We often
- recite tahmid, recite istighfar, and
- practice tawwah. Because we have many
- sins. When we reached puberty, perhaps
- we didn't understand or didn't
- understand, or perhaps our parents
- didn't understand Islam and didn't
- teach us Islamic values, maybe. Because
- each of us has a different upbringing.
- There are many obligations we neglect,
- many sins we commit, many things that
- perhaps our sin record is already
- extensive. Now, we realize that we will
- meet Allah, we will be called by Allah.
- So, the opportunity still exists; we
- increase our istigfar, we pray to Allah
- , we are given the opportunity to live,
- we are given the opportunity to repent,
- we are given the opportunity to correct
- all our mistakes and mistakes in the
- past. Now is the time to start making
- istigfar and repent. God willing, Allah
- is the Most Gracious of the Womb. No
- matter how big our past sins are, the
- benchmark for us, husnul khatimah or
- suul khatimah, is at the end of our
- life. There are many people whose days,
- time, and age are filled with
- disobedience and sin. But when on the
- last day before he dies, he repents
- with nasuha repentance, God willing, he
- will get a good final husnul khatimah.
- So do more tahmid, read istigfar,
- repent, do more light deeds but the
- reward is big. We've discussed that,
- Mbak Olin, light practice has big
- rewards, yes, we've discussed that a
- lot. Yes, we've discussed that. So we
- do those light deeds but the rewards
- are great, like dhikr, reciting salawat
- , whatever, we will certainly get it
- with knowledge, right? Then regularly
- read dhikr morning and evening, read
- the morning and evening Magfurat. Try,
- even if Allah can force it. If we force
- worship, if we don't force it, we will
- definitely follow Satan's temptations.
- There are so many things to do, not
- this and that. Unless we still have
- responsibilities, right? When we're old
- , there are no more children, and the
- grandchildren are grown up. Some people
- run out of time to raise their
- grandchildren. Yes, actually it's okay,
- there's no problem. But this way,
- grandchildren are their parents '
- responsibility, right? Indeed, some of
- them are like this, so it's up to each
- of us. Well, we used to spend time
- raising their mothers, now we raise
- their children too. Well, well,
- hopefully if the intention is for Allah
- , hopefully it will be rewarded. It
- will be beneficial. Yes. Then, ee,
- strengthen ties of friendship. So,
- don't just spend your days being silent
- , sad, or doing nothing. We should be
- active. God willing, our days will be
- blessed, and our old age will be
- blessed. That's the third point. Then
- the fourth, avoid negative thoughts.
- Suspicion. Masyaallah. It's true that
- when we get older, we become more
- sensitive, right, Ms. Olin? Usually,
- when our children say something, we
- translate it, we interpret it, we
- become sad, we cry, even though they
- might mean something different. So,
- negative thoughts, of course, ee, ee,
- negative thinking, of course, won't
- give us any positive value in life
- because negative thoughts or suuzon
- will certainly bring anxiety, doubt,
- hesitation, and heartache. Well, this
- is negative energy. If this negative
- energy is channeled from the mind, from
- the heart, and distributed throughout
- the body, it will affect the
- performance of our organs. So we lose
- enthusiasm, become lazy, become
- discouraged. Well, if this continues to
- happen, eventually illness will come.
- There are many illnesses, all kinds of
- illnesses, that will affect you because
- most of them, you can ask a medical
- professional, a health professional,
- that one of the causes of illness can
- be due to thoughts. So, that's why we
- should avoid negative thoughts. Just
- think positively. Oh, I mean, don't
- think about it, don't take it to heart.
- For example, if you're sad, for example
- , your grandchild is like that with his
- grandmother screaming. After all,
- children of old people are sad, right,
- Miss Olin? Are you starting to feel sad
- yet? I think it's
- just experience.
- Experience means that those of us who
- are entering old age usually feel sad.
- If a child speaks loudly, it
- immediately becomes very sad. Remember
- again, "Oh God, this child used to be
- taken care of, we gave him our whole
- life. Now he's starting to act like
- that just because he's being nice."
- Well, that's usually how parents are
- like that. So, let's avoid that. We
- should avoid negative thoughts.
- Directly ask for forgiveness,
- astagfirullahalazim. Pray for it right
- away. That's the fourth point. Avoid
- being suspicious. Then fifth, expand
- your chest as wide as possible, as deep
- as possible. E, what is it called?
- That's as high as it is, right? So
- expand your chest as wide as possible.
- So it means a lot of understanding, a
- lot of understanding, so a lot of what,
- ee, in the position of yes, never mind,
- maybe open up your chest, forgive
- profusely if there is a mistake, be it
- to your partner, to your children, to
- your neighbors, to anyone, or to you,
- usually, Ms. Olin. What I hear is that
- as you get older, paranoid schistopenia
- disease appears more and more, it
- recurs, it makes it easy to think badly
- of people, you like to bring up the
- past, it's hard to forget. ee what is
- the name of the words of the person who
- hurt him. Well, this is normal. So, if
- we, who have gained the knowledge,
- fight everything that is painful, that
- offends our feelings, that we don't
- like, let's just ignore it. The
- atmosphere has cleared up. Oh God, we
- don't think about other people, we're
- at a loss if we think about what other
- people say. Okay, we only hope for
- Allah's pleasure. Well, that's the
- fifth point. That's it for now, Miss.
- We'll continue later.
- Okay. Masyaallah, Ikhwan and Akwat,
- we've heard five of the 10 things that
- will make our old age, God willing,
- more blessed. Among them are keeping
- the spirit of life alive, then being
- grateful, then by attending religious
- studies, avoiding bad deeds. The third
- is maintaining ties with relatives, the
- fourth is avoiding suspicion. And the
- fifth is being broad-minded. There are
- still five more. God willing, I will
- continue. Ikhwan and Akhwat. We invite
- you to submit your questions to the
- usual number 0811999720. Only via
- WhatsApp text, not by phone because it
- will not be answered. Sorry, yes. We
- invite you to submit your questions.
- God willing, the female teacher will
- discuss them after the nasyid break.
- Brail TV Silaturahim Rasil TV for Islam
- that is one brother and cloud.
- Currently we are hybrid live with
- Ustazah Herlini Amran for a session on
- women's jurisprudence with the theme of
- 10 things that make old age more
- blessed. Ustazah has already delivered
- five points. There are still five more.
- Tafadul Ustazah continues,
- okay. Let's continue, okay.
- Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. The sixth.
- The fifth ee sixth now, okay. Uh sixth
- ee, uh what is it called? Earlier we
- have opened our hearts as wide as
- possible. So now the sixth is accepting
- reality. Accepting this reality means
- ee accepting destiny sincerely. So here
- , ee, how do we, in terms of our lives,
- have been determined by Allah. Allah
- has given us according to the
- provisions that Allah has determined.
- So we accept all the destiny that Allah
- has determined. So don't let there be
- regrets or say what if. This is destiny
- , okay. For example, maybe in our old
- age, the one who precedes Allah might
- be our partner. Then we feel regret,
- yes, if only it were longer, if only.
- Then we compare our lives with our
- friends' lives. If only my husband were
- still alive, if only my wife were still
- alive, if only try try try. Ah, this is
- not allowed. It means that all of our
- lives have been determined by Allah.
- Yes, this is part of the pillars of
- faith. One of the pillars of faith is
- believing in qada and qadar. Or for
- example, "If only my child was
- successful, my life would not be as
- miserable as this. If only, try try."
- So we are not satisfied with the life
- we have. He tries this and that because
- of illness try try try nauzubillah tak
- kad. The Prophet said, "Never say if
- only, if only, but say qadarallah waya
- faala." This is Allah's determination.
- Whatever Allah determines, what Allah
- wills will happen. Well, here we are
- open-hearted, yes, accepting reality.
- We ee accept fate sincerely. This is
- our determination. Maybe in old age we
- won't have children. Maybe in old age
- we won't be with our life partner.
- Perhaps in her old age, the children
- she raised, cared for, cared for, and
- guided from infancy until marriage left
- her to be with their husbands. So,
- that's all she has to do. So, we no
- longer regret fate. We accept all of
- Allah's provisions. Because our lives
- have been determined by Allah. So, we
- accept everything. The destiny we
- receive is destiny. Whether it's good
- destiny or bad destiny. We must not
- deny it. We should accept it sincerely.
- Not complain. Not regret it. Why is
- Allah like this? Why not? This shows a
- lack of faith. Because the Prophet said
- in his saying, "A servant is not said
- to have faith until he believes in
- destiny, both good and bad." And until
- he knows that what is destined to
- happen to him will never miss and what
- is not destined to happen to him will
- never happen. So everything has been
- determined by Allah from A to Z,
- everything has been destined by Allah.
- So, we just have to accept it, we are
- grateful for what Allah has destined.
- The more we are grateful for the
- blessings that Allah has given us or
- perhaps a disaster, there must be
- wisdom when Allah gives us a bad
- destiny. So we accept the reality of
- this life that befalls us, especially
- those who remember the past. So the
- story was in the past so that the
- children and grandchildren don't want
- to hear it anymore. In the end, why is
- this, children, ah, enough, just a
- little sick alone. Ah, now we are
- approaching old age, may our lives be
- blessed. Never mind, there is no need
- to regret fate anymore. We accept the
- reality that Allah has given. Yes,
- maybe there are those who spend their
- old age alone. Maybe Allah has not
- destined a life partner. Ms. Olin,
- there are several cases of our parents
- who are alone, who are alone, they are
- not married. God knows, it is a test
- from Allah, they don't find a partner,
- they end up alone. In the end, if we
- don't return to faith, of course we
- will try if I had married first, if I
- had accepted the proposal, if I had
- already had children, if I had already
- had children, I would have...No way,
- nauzubillah, this is destiny, we accept
- it all sincerely. Even the sickness
- that Allah gives us is part of the test
- and God willing, there must be wisdom
- in it. Isn't it when Allah gives
- sickness, usually parents are sick a
- lot, right, Sis, the sick are obedient,
- the sick are whatever, there are always
- illnesses. What else can we do, try it
- first, ee, because parents are the ones
- who like what, ee, calcium deficiency,
- osteoporosis and all that. If only when
- we were young we exercised diligently,
- we would no longer look back, it's
- happened, it's destiny. Hopefully, with
- this sickness that Allah tests us, it
- will erase all our sins. So just ask
- Allah when you feel sick, O Allah, with
- this sickness, forgive my sins. God
- willing, hopefully Allah will forgive.
- Moreover, the Prophet said that the
- prayers of sick people are answered. In
- fact, we were commanded by the Prophet
- if there is a sick person to ask for
- prayer from him. Because their prayers
- are like angels, the prayers of angels,
- ee, are answered by Allah. Because
- people who are sick, who are willing to
- accept the test that God gives can have
- their sins erased. Yes, that's the
- sixth. So accept reality, okay? Accept
- fate sincerely. Then the seventh,
- gather with pious people. Yes, we,
- mothers, God willing, there are lots of
- mothers who see all that. Let's join in
- to take part in the recitation.
- Hopefully the mothers won't make noise.
- Hey, there are lots of mothers, God
- willing, there are good mothers who are
- far from sin and immorality. Avoid
- going to gatherings that add to your
- sins and contain gossip and backbiting
- that only talks about the person you
- are talking about, only about worldly
- material problems. Avoid it because it
- will be affected. In the end, instead
- of increasing our worship, we increase
- our competition. against the world,
- with wealth competing to show that I am
- capable and rich. Nauzbillah yes. We
- choose a group of pious people who are
- pious. God willing, it will increase
- our faith. Then eighth, give a message
- to children and descendants so that
- they become pious children, pious
- children who pray for their parents. Is
- it prayed for when you are alive or
- later after you die? Yes, I would
- advise our children that if their
- parents are sick or we are sick, don't
- forget to talk about it when we are
- about to die so that the last sentence
- spoken is the sentence of monotheism.
- Yes, we order it to our children. We
- order everything that is good, we order
- that after we die, never fight about
- wealth, love each other. So, all these
- messages, even though the children may
- not be married yet, will at least be
- remembered by them. Order it, Miss Olin
- , I still really remember my parents,
- eh, Mom was still small at that time,
- maybe she was still in elementary
- school, what did she play with before,
- right? You still, still, still like Mom
- to accompany you to play games with Dad
- , that's how it is. When I was little,
- I used to say that my mother would say,
- "When I die, pray for me, my child's
- prayers will come to me while playing."
- We also responded to it while playing,
- but I still remembered it, it was still
- imprinted in my heart because it was
- fun learning while playing, maybe I put
- in positive sentences, those sentences
- made me remember. Oh yeah, it's been a
- long time since she passed away, but I
- still remember. Oh yeah, my parents
- asked me to pray for them. Well, this
- is also a message for our children. So,
- whatever we do from our good deeds and
- our activities, don't forget to intend
- it for our parents who have passed away
- . Well, we tell our children that when
- Mom has passed away, Dad has passed
- away, don't forget to send rewards,
- send good deeds. God willing, it will
- arrive because that's what our parents
- hope for. Well, these messages are even
- a message for our children, don't ever
- fight over our possessions that we have
- left behind. We can imagine, Ma'am,
- parents who forget to give advice,
- perhaps also forget to educate their
- children about these assets after their
- parents die, their inheritance becomes
- a fight over them. Killing each other,
- breaking friendships. Nauzbillah yes.
- At least it's possible that they won't
- commit murder, but at least they will
- fight among themselves over the
- inheritance left by us parents who
- haven't or forgotten to give advice,
- messages or wills. Don't fight over it,
- divide it according to inheritance law.
- Well, this is it. This is very
- important because we don't want
- whatever we leave behind, whatever we
- leave behind to be a disaster for our
- children. The children we give birth
- with the hope that they will become
- pious children, in fact they fight over
- our property which has not yet been
- given away or perhaps even the property
- which is still left behind, which is
- still our legacy, which they are
- enemies with, breaking off the
- friendship, even though we are the
- parents who gave birth to them. How sad
- is that? So, we are telling them to
- help each other, really, so that our
- children will hopefully remember this,
- God willing. This is the eighth. The
- ninth is a will regarding property. So
- you can be a parent so that your
- children don't fight, so when dividing
- inheritance, you can just give it to
- them while they are still alive. You
- don't take property with you when you
- die, you save it, that means how much M
- you keep, you don't know if your child
- will die suddenly or not. So when I
- checked my parents 'inheritance, I
- found at the bank everything up to
- billions. Wow, there's been a fight,
- nauzubillah. So just make a will now
- whether you want to donate, donate or
- give alms. Because the best wealth is
- when you are still alive, it is donated
- or donated or alms or gifts to children
- . Yes, we will make a will regarding
- our assets. In fact, it should be noted
- , if perhaps at this time he doesn't
- want to be open, the father is the one
- who earns his living, maybe he's not
- open with his wife and children, so he
- keeps his wealth privately. Bring it
- and make notes. Who knows, maybe he'll
- suddenly die, or be hit in an accident.
- Suddenly, after he dies, his son
- rummages around and finds it, or
- something, in a safe, for example. Wow,
- it turns out there's 50 million, huh!
- Wow, it could be a fight, huh. In fact,
- it could belong to someone else, huh,
- because it wasn't in a will. Write a
- will! That's why the Prophet advised us
- to write a will, huh. Where the debt is
- , to whom, it's necessary, huh, so it
- doesn't become a burden on us too.
- People who owe money will be a hassle
- later, huh, when they die, huh, they're
- told to pay, but the reward is
- postponed. Oh dear, and hopefully we
- don't die leaving behind any debt, God
- willing. That's a will, huh, a will, a
- message of advice to our children
- regarding wealth. Well, the last thing
- is to always pray. Pray with every
- breath we take, in our days, in all our
- time, not only when praying, at any
- time, in any condition, many prayers,
- yes, especially prayers for Husnul
- Khatimah. Biha Allah bihusnil ktimah,
- Allahumarzuqnal husnul khatimah, yes,
- basically the prayer that we die in a
- state of husnul khatimah or the prayer
- that for example we often hear, yes,'
- Allah'alir umri akiru amaliq, O Allah,
- make the end of my last age, my last
- deed, and my best day is the day when I
- meet you. So, here are 10 things for
- our old age that can be a blessing.
- Hopefully we can put it into practice.
- At least to remind myself, Sis, yes.
- Hopefully you can remember what has
- been said and put it into practice.
- Hopefully God willing. Wallahuam below.
- Amen. Amen, rabbal alamin. God willing.
- We have listened to the theme raised
- and discussed by Ustazah, namely 10
- things that cause old age to be more
- blessed. And the opportunity has been
- opened to ask questions, I will go
- straight to the first questioner from
- Cibinong. A servant of Allah asks,
- Ustazah. Peace be upon you, Ustazah.
- Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi
- wabarakatuh.
- Waalaikumsalam warahmatullahi
- wabarakatuh. I teach gentlemen who are
- over 60 years old but are learning to
- recite the Quran, I mean. But for the
- pronunciation of the letters and the
- tajweed, Ustazah, I wonder if it is a
- sin, Ustazah? Thank you.
- Um, so it's not like I'm old, because
- the pronunciation of the letters should
- be from childhood. Meaning, when you're
- old, it's difficult, at least there's
- an effort. Even if it's not possible,
- God willing, it's okay. It means keep
- trying, keep trying, Masyaallah. Indeed
- , learning in old age is like writing
- on water, as the saying goes. If at a
- young age it's like writing on stone,
- right? Well, the important thing is the
- enthusiasm to keep learning. Keep
- learning, right? That's it, Miss.
- Okay, Ustazah. This is from a servant
- of Allah in Jakarta. Peace be upon you,
- Ustazah.
- May you always be given good health and
- we always faithfully listen to the
- study of women's jurisprudence. Ustazah
- , I currently live with my parents,
- namely my father who is over 70 years
- old, but has a habit of watching soap
- operas for hours. So when we remind him
- to perform obligatory prayers, Ustazah
- gets angry. What should we do to
- motivate him to maintain or improve his
- obligatory worship activities, Ustazah
- at least. Thank you, Ustazah. First of
- all, yes, we, O Allah, yes, it is a
- lesson for us, hopefully, in our old
- age we will not be like that. First, as
- a child, pray a lot, pray, pray, pray,
- pray, pray, that's the first. Second,
- if there are soap operas with religious
- themes, that's okay. Not romance themes
- , religious themes, right? What, Miss,
- religious themes?
- Just those guidances. Guidance,
- guidance, remembering death. I think
- it's okay if you have YouTube, Miss, I
- don't know what's on TV, it's been a
- long time since I watched TV. That
- means, don't immediately close or turn
- off the fun, but change it to something
- with more story content that reminds
- you of the end of the world. That's the
- second. Third, keep reminding them to
- be patient, especially in prayer,
- because in Surah Thaha verse 132 it
- says, "Well, good morals are alaiha."
- Command your family to pray and be
- patient with that command. That also
- applies to our parents, not just to our
- children. Continue to be reminded,
- guided, don't let anyone feel like
- they're lecturing you, don't feel like
- they're lecturing you. Just be patient.
- Gu, yes. It means that our parents used
- to raise us with patience and love. Now
- it's our parents 'turn to be like
- little children. We also have to be
- more patient, just as our parents used
- to raise us. Yes, that's right.
- Hopefully, in this way, Allah will give
- us guidance. Hopefully, we can do the
- obligatory things, God willing.
- Okay. Uh, hopefully this servant of
- Allah has answered. Then, still from a
- servant of Allah in Bekasi.
- Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi
- wabarakatuh, Ustazah.
- Waalaikumsalam warahmatullahi
- wabarakatuh.
- We have parents, a father who has
- difficulty walking and has to be helped
- by others because his hearing and sight
- are not good. We are both very busy
- siblings. We can't leave work. Several
- times we left him with a nurse and a
- distant relative. But it seems like
- father is uncomfortable, in fact, it
- tends to be short-lived. Ustazah, it's
- really hard for me to ask this. But I
- think the best thing is for us to
- entrust father to a nursing home,
- Ustazah. Are we considered disobedient
- children, Ustazah? Sorry. I
- apologize for earlier, I was busy
- working. Is that a girl or a boy? It
- wasn't
- mentioned, Ustazah.
- So, it's like this,
- two siblings just said it.
- So, if he is indeed entrusted to a
- nursing home, now, what is the father's
- attitude and acceptance? Is he happy or
- sad? This is the determining factor.
- When our parents are entrusted to a
- nursing home and they can't refuse but
- are sad, they are disobedient children.
- Yes, it means their parents didn't
- actually want to, they didn't want to
- be entrusted. But with the condition
- that they feel burdened, they are
- ultimately entrusted with it, and with
- the parents' unwillingness, this child
- gets, of course, quotation marks, qul
- walidain, ee, they are disobedient. So
- how do we do it? Yes, of course, he
- remains under our supervision. In a
- nursing home, you rarely see him. But
- if he's with us, we can see him every
- day. No matter how busy we are, at
- least we can come home at night and
- meet and greet him. That's already very
- happy for parents. In a nursing home,
- you feel like you're being abandoned.
- You feel far away from your family. It
- wasn't explained earlier whether his
- family is married or what about their
- children. So, if I look at it here,
- it's okay for us to use someone to take
- care of him, to replace us if it's
- deemed difficult for us to make time
- for him. However, in any case, it's
- actually better to prioritize child
- supervision. Hiring someone is
- expensive. Don't think about money,
- because there might be people who work
- hard to care for their parents like
- this and get little pay. If we give
- them a lot, meaning what's appropriate,
- of course our parents will be taken
- care of. So, we don't have to think
- about material things. As long as our
- parents are cared for, yes. ter eeeni
- fulfilled all his needs. Even with ee
- big reward is not enough to repay his
- services, yes, rather than regretting
- it later, yes. Because parents are the
- key to heaven. We will no longer be
- able to find heaven except by being
- devoted to our parents. That's why the
- pious predecessors cried when their
- parents died, yes. Now there is no
- longer a key to heaven that I can guard
- . Well, so while it's not too late,
- never entrust our parents to a nursing
- home. Don't. Yes, no matter how
- difficult our parents 'condition is. It
- means try, God willing, where there is
- a will, there is a way, God willing. So
- , ee, never be cared for by others,
- meaning in other places, yes. Unless
- that is the parents' request. Maybe
- there are parents, there are also Miss
- Nursing homes that are full, ee, full
- of activities, yes, what Mr. Winarno,
- yes, nursing homes for the elderly, no,
- no, not sick people there, yes, but
- when they are old, they enter something
- like an Islamic boarding school, yes.
- Oh. Well, he can study there. He is
- still able to serve himself. He just
- wants to fill his days with knowledge.
- That's an exception. Yes. Well, if
- parents are old, sick and unable to
- care for themselves, this is a child's
- opportunity to be devoted at the end of
- their parents 'lives. This is a child's
- opportunity to show that he is a pious
- child. What are we looking for? Looking
- for material things, what are we
- looking for in this world? The key to
- heaven is already there. Don't waste it
- . In fact, when we make all kinds of
- sacrifices, time, energy, and material
- things, our lives can be blessed.
- Because Allah gives us parents whom we
- will care for forever. So remain
- patient because serving our parents is
- like jihad. It's hard. It's hard. Jihad
- is hard. Jihad means sacrificing wealth
- , energy, tears, all of which are part
- of jihad. It turns out it's the same as
- caring for parents, it requires
- sacrifice of feelings, sacrifice of
- time, energy. Because parents sometimes
- say things that are thoughtless,
- hurtful, and alienating. ah, the main
- thing is, it's truly jihad. Never
- resist it. The priority should be that
- our life is full of blessings. So, when
- we are devoted to our parents at the
- end of their lives, God willing, our
- children will later be devoted to us.
- Yes, I see, for the questioner, I don't
- know whether it's a mother or a father.
- So while there are still parents, we
- have the opportunity to be filial at
- the end of our lives. Hopefully it
- explains and provides the best solution
- . And it seems that this Ustazah's
- servant of God was the last questioner
- in Tangerang. Asalamualaikum
- warahmatullahi wabarakatuh. May
- the peace, mercy, and blessings of
- Allah be with you too.
- I am a wife where ee has two children.
- One is in high school, the other is
- still in elementary school. And my
- mother lives with me, she is 70 years
- old. Subhanallah, Ustazah. Mother lives
- with us. However, in the past 3 years,
- my mother has become very, often
- gets angry and often curses at everyone
- , including the children and my husband
- , so they don't like their grandmother.
- Well, the problem is that my husband is
- also starting to feel uncomfortable.
- What should I do, Ustazah? Even though
- I often try to talk to my mother, but
- she gets even angrier, Ustazah. We are
- confused because the children,
- especially the older one, are not
- comfortable at home because they say
- they are often scolded by grandmother.
- Ee, it's like this, Mother, ee, most of
- them, in their old age, ee, first, like
- a child, then second, yes, there are
- many mental disorders, maybe they used
- to feel depressed, but now these mental
- illnesses are emerging, right? Yes. So
- that's the form of jihad, the form of
- our patience. Because ee, this is a
- test, right? It just depends on how we,
- with our husband and children,
- encourage them. Don't entertain it.
- Indeed, ee, grandmother is very patient
- , right? Hopefully. So don't take it to
- heart, okay? Because I once got it,
- even though I'm not a mental health
- expert, right, Sis. I've read a lot of
- books about mental health, ee, old
- people like this, what's it called?
- Diseases like paranoid schizophrenia,
- you know, Miss. So if it happens, it's
- actually the disappointing past that's
- now emerging. So if he's offended, the
- past is brought up again and again.
- It's like when he nags, we wait for
- hours, then we nag at length until it
- hurts. But the advantage is when he's
- in a good mood, he's very kind. Well,
- that's what it means, we as children,
- just lift our hearts, our children's
- hearts, our husbands' hearts. This is
- how parents are like, never mind, don't
- take it to heart. So if he nags, then
- shut up, don't take it to heart. So the
- key is. Don't be the same. If it's the
- same, it means both of us are a little
- mentally disturbed. Yes, be patient,
- patient, patient. This will end, God
- willing, someday. The main thing is to
- be patient, but don't ask when my
- mother will die. Nauzubillah. Don't
- ever do that. Don't do that. This is
- the key to heaven. Indeed, heaven is
- not cheap. Heaven is expensive. That's
- why it's hard for us to get the key,
- right? How should we be broad-hearted,
- broad-minded, and have a lot of what do
- we call it? Broaden our hearts, and
- forgive a lot. Basically, we are truly
- being tested. Because faith must be
- tested, right? Tested by parents like
- this. Be broad-minded, don't be the
- same, just keep quiet. So, whatever our
- parents want, as long as it doesn't
- conflict with Islamic law, just fulfill
- their wishes, buy whatever they want,
- as long as it doesn't conflict with
- Islamic law. Yes, so the point is this
- is a test and convince us that innamal
- usri yusron, with every hardship, there
- will be ease. This condition won't last
- , Mom. It won't last. How old we are
- doesn't mean we wish for death. No.
- That's God giving us a test. Because we
- are indeed able to bear it. Don't let
- your parents feel offended, "Oh, my
- child rejects me, my grandson doesn't
- like me, oh my son-in-law hates me." In
- the end, they will be hurt. That's our
- sin, you know. Yes, so once again this
- is our best opportunity to be filial,
- to show our devotion to our parents. We
- just have to give understanding to our
- husbands and children. Yes, I'm old,
- I'm patient. That's how patient you are
- , you don't need to take it to heart
- and that's it, ma'am. Remain patient,
- this is an extraordinary trial, later
- it will be a regret, ma'am, yes, if our
- parents have died, try to be patient,
- try, yes, you can't do it anymore, yes,
- the past can be returned now, now while
- there is a golden opportunity, there
- will be no second one anymore. This is
- an extraordinary test if you pass it
- well, God willing, good luck in the
- afterlife for you and your family, God
- willing. Yes, this is also an example
- for children to prove that we are
- filial to our parents. This is an
- example for children so that they will
- also be devoted to us, God willing.
- Yes, good, mothers wherever they are
- are enthusiastic and hopefully they
- will be given patience and their
- children and husband will also be given
- patience and sincerity. Iwan and Awat
- seems to be Ustazah's last question.
- Hopefully, Ustazah's conclusion for the
- theme is 10 things that will make old
- age more blessed, God willing.
- Yes, the listeners who are blessed by
- Allah are indeed at a young age who are
- very enthusiastic and fit to do good
- deeds. Therefore, we make the best use
- of it, don't waste it. We also ask
- Allah for protection when we are in old
- age, so that in our old age we don't
- become a bad old age, which causes us
- to return to what we did when we were
- young. That is why the Prophet
- sallallahu alaihi wasallam prayed with
- a prayer and there was a request for
- the Prophet to seek refuge in Allah.
- Allahumma inni azubika minal kasal
- waubika minal jub waubika minal
- harubika minalqli. Yes, O Allah, I seek
- refuge in You from laziness, from
- weakness of heart, from old age which
- makes it difficult to do good deeds and
- I seek refuge in You from the nature of
- dhikr. So, one of the Prophet's
- protections from Allah is to avoid
- having bad old days, old days that
- don't have the slightest goodness, old
- days that carry burdens, old days that
- don't obey. Hopefully we can fill our
- old age with days full of blessings and
- benefits. Aulu qi hadza astagfirullahi
- wakum. Asalamualaikum warahmatullah
- wabarakatuh. May
- the peace, mercy, and blessings of
- Allah be with you too. Thank God, we
- have participated in the study with
- Iwan and Ahwat this afternoon. God
- willing, it will be a reminder and can
- motivate us to become better Muslims or
- Muslim women in the future. Thank you
- to our teacher Ustazah Helni Amran. May
- Allah bless you with good health and
- give your family ease in all their
- affairs. Hopefully we will meet again
- soon at the next opportunity. Ustazah
- always healthy, Ustazah.
- Thank You.
- And we also thank Iana for submitting
- her question via WhatsApp. There are
- also some of the YouTubers who have
- commented. We are listening, we are
- listening. Thank you, alhamdulillah,
- for the response from those on duty
- today. I am Karolin, accompanied by ee
- Anis and Ondi on the operator channel.
