Listeners of Radio Rasil and 3:20 viewers of Rasil TV, may Allah the 3:22 Almighty have mercy on you. Our study 3:27 is on Surah Yusuf. Now, we will read 3:33 and reflect on the words of Allah the 3:38 Almighty, starting from verse 21. Yes. 3:51 Starting from 21, and perhaps up to 3:55 verse 29, if time permits. As usual, 4:05 let us begin by reciting the Mother of 4:07 the Book, Surah Al-Fatihah. May through 4:10 the recitation of the Mother of the 4:11 Book, Surah Al-Fatihah, Allah the 4:13 Almighty open our hearts to understand 4:18 His words. May Allah the Almighty 4:22 cleanse our hearts from all impurities 4:25 of shirk, arrogance, showing off, envy, 4:28 suspicion, pride, and various other 4:30 heart ailments. And may Allah the 4:34 Almighty forgive all our mistakes and 4:37 sins. The mistakes and sins of our 4:41 parents, our teachers, those who have 4:43 served us, and also our brothers and 4:45 sisters, the believing men and women. 4:52 To the Prophet Muhammad, may the peace 4:54 and blessings of Allah be upon him. 4:56 Al-Fatihah. I seek refuge in Allah from 5:01 the accursed Satan. In the name of 5:04 Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most 5:05 Merciful. All praise is due to Allah, 5:09 Lord of the worlds, the Most Gracious, 5:11 the Most Merciful. Master of the Day of 5:17 Judgment. It is You we worship and You 5:21 we ask for help. Guide us to the 5:25 straight path, the path of those upon 5:28 whom You have bestowed favor, not of 5:31 those who have evoked [Your] anger or 5:34 of those who are astray. Amen. And the 5:46 one from Egypt who bought him said to 5:48 his wife, "Make his residence 5:50 comfortable.""Make his residence 5:56 comfortable, perhaps he will benefit us 6:00 or we will take him as a son." And thus 6:06 We established Yusuf in the land that 6:09 We might teach him the interpretation 6:12 of events. And Allah is predominant 6:18 over His affair. But most of the people 6:23 do not know. And when he reached his 6:30 maturity, We gave him judgment and 6:33 knowledge. And thus do We reward the 6:37 doers of good. And she, in whose house 6:42 he was, sought to seduce him. She 6:45 closed the doors and said, "Come here." 6:50 He said, "I seek refuge in Allah. 6:54 Indeed, he is my master, Indeed, the 6:59 wrongdoers will not succeed." And she 7:06 certainly desired him, and he would 7:09 have desired her, had he not seen the 7:12 proof of his Lord. Thus it was, that We 7:15 might avert from him evil and 7:18 immorality. Indeed, he was of Our 7:22 chosen servants. And they raced to the 7:29 door, and she tore his shirt from the 7:34 back. And they found her husband at the 7:36 door. She said, "What is the recompense 7:41 for one who intended evil for your wife 7:44 but that he be imprisoned or a painful 7:47 punishment?" He said, "It was she who 7:52 sought to seduce me." From her own 7:58 family. If his shirt was torn from the 8:01 front, then she has told the truth. If 8:06 his shirt was torn from the front, then 8:10 she is truthful, and he is of the liars 8:14 . But if his shirt was torn from the 8:19 back, then she has lied, and he is of 8:26 the truthful. So when he saw his shirt 8:32 torn from the back, he said, "Indeed, 8:34 it is of your plotting, Indeed, your 8:40 plotting is great.""Joseph, ignore this 8:46 . And, O wife, ask forgiveness for your 8:49 sin. Indeed, you were of the sinners." 8:59 The noble beloved, peace be upon him 9:01 and blessings, and praise be to Allah, 9:03 Lord of the worlds. Exalted are You; we 9:07 have no knowledge except what You have 9:09 taught us. Indeed, it is You who is the 9:11 All-Knowing, the Wise. My Lord, 9:14 increase me in knowledge and join me 9:15 with the righteous. Our Lord, let not 9:19 our hearts deviate after You have 9:20 guided us and grant us from Yourself 9:22 mercy. Indeed, You are the Bestower. My 9:26 Lord, expand for me my breast, and ease 9:28 for me my task, and untie the knot from 9:30 my tongue, that they may understand my 9:32 speech. Now then. To the listeners of 9:39 Radio Rasil and the viewers of Rasil TV 9:41 , may you be honored by Allah Subhanahu 9:43 wa ta'ala. In the previous verses, 9:51 where Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala 9:53 narrates the situation of Prophet 9:59 Joseph who was placed by his brothers 10:03 in a well, the pit. A well, not like I 10:09 mentioned, not like our wells with 10:11 immediate water, but a fairly large 10:14 well inside. But there is water there 10:18 and also a dry flat area. Now, Joseph, 10:23 the Prophet of Allah, peace be upon him 10:28 , wasn't thrown from top to bottom, but 10:33 rather lowered there. Because indeed, 10:40 Prophet Joseph's brothers initially 10:43 intended to kill him, but then they 10:46 changed their intention and just put 10:49 him 10:52 >> into the well like that. Then, by being 10:56 placed in the well, finally, Prophet 11:00 Joseph was pulled up by someone among 11:05 the group of travelers tasked to get 11:09 water. When he lowered his bucket, it 11:12 turned out that when pulled up, the 11:15 bucket was heavy. It turned out there 11:18 was a child who came up with the bucket 11:22 . Finally, Prophet Joseph was taken as 11:26 what? As trading merchandise. But 11:32 because he didn't get him by buying or 11:35 anything, because back then slavery 11:38 still existed. He was sold in Egypt, in 11:44 the city of Egypt, Prophet Joseph was 11:48 sold at a low price. Can be said, says 11:55 Allah, at a low price, just a few 11:59 dirhams. Yes. The important thing for 12:06 the sellers was to get money, just get 12:10 the money. It turned out the one who 12:14 bought him was a dignitary of the land 12:17 of Egypt. Now, then what was done by 12:23 the one who bought him? This is what 12:32 Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala says: "And 12:34 the one who bought him from Egypt said, 12:35 'Treat him honorably.'" And he made him 12:42 a son. So the one who bought Prophet 12:47 Joseph said. Yes. Yes. He truly bought 12:52 him, like buying a slave, the point is 12:53 he bought a slave. But it turns out 12:58 that the one who bought him was someone 13:02 who indeed desired it. It is narrated 13:06 that he did not have any children. He 13:08 really wanted to have a child. Then he 13:12 said to his wife, waqala alladhi 13:16 ishtarahu min misra limra'atihi. Yes, 13:20 he said to his wife, "Akrimii mathwahu, 13:21 " give a respectable place, a good 13:28 position for this child. Yes, do not 13:34 treat him like a slave. "Asa an 13:40 yanfa'ana," perhaps he will be useful 13:44 to us, or we adopt him as our child. We 13:50 adopt him. So it means, how the trials 13:58 of Prophet Yusuf which he experienced 14:03 from the envy of his brothers until he 14:07 was placed in a well, then brought as a 14:11 slave and sold. It turns out when he 14:16 arrived in Egypt, in this city of Egypt 14:19 , Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala would begin 14:22 to place Prophet Yusuf in a respectable 14:25 position. Yes. "Wa kadhalika makkanna 14:31 li Yusufa fil-ard." Thus, We gave a 14:35 position to Prophet Yusuf in the land 14:38 of Egypt. "Fil-ard" here does not mean 14:42 the entire earth. The word "ard" means 14:44 earth, yes. But the alif-lam here 14:47 replaces the idafa (genitive 14:48 construction). There is a mudhaf ( 14:50 possessor). After that, it means "fi 14:52 ardi Misra." Yes, thus we placed 15:00 Prophet Yusuf in a place that is what? 15:04 We gave a good position to Yusuf in the 15:06 land of Egypt. "Wa linu'allimahu min 15:10 ta'wilil-ahadith." And also so that We 15:13 taught him from the interpretation of 15:15 events. From interpreting events, 15:21 dreams, or interpreting visions. " 15:27 Wallahu ghalibun 'ala amrihi." And 15:31 Allah is the one who executes all His 15:36 affairs, the Almighty to complete all 15:41 His affairs. "Ghalibun" comes from the 15:44 word "galaba" which means to overcome 15:45 or prevail. Yes, He is the Almighty 15:51 what? Executing all His affairs. It 15:54 means He is fully capable of carrying 15:56 out all His affairs. Whatever Allah 15:58 plans that is surely what will happen. 16:04 "Wa lakinna akthara an-nasi la ya'lamun 16:06 ." But many among people do not 16:10 understand. And here, how Allah 16:16 Subhanahu wa Ta'ala "ghalibun' ala 16:19 amrihi," here Allah is executing all 16:28 His affairs, even though there were 16:32 twists and turns, how Prophet Yusuf 16:35 fell into the hands of his brothers who 16:40 wanted to harm him, wanted to destroy 16:44 him. Yes, but that was a life journey 16:47 that had to be gone through by Prophet 16:49 Yusuf Alaih Salam. Until he was finally 16:53 sold in the city of Egypt. After that, 16:57 he experienced various trials until he 16:59 was eventually imprisoned. And after 17:03 that, Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala raised 17:07 his status to become a dignitary in 17:10 Egypt, until he became a ruler in Egypt 17:14 . Yes, like that. This is what Allah 17:17 Subhanahu wa Ta'ala mentioned. " 17:19 Ghalibun 'ala amrihi wa lakinna akthara 17:22 an-nasi la ya'lamun." But most people 17:25 do not understand. Yes. Yes. Long story 17:32 short, how Prophet Yusuf then lived 17:34 with the dignitary of Egypt or as 17:36 mentioned. So initially here, it is not 17:40 mentioned who bought him. "Wa qala 17:42 alladhi ishtarahu min Misra." It is 17:44 only mentioned like that. But in the 17:47 following verses, it is mentioned that 17:49 the one who bought him was the Aziz of 17:52 Egypt. Aziz of Egypt means the high 17:55 official or the prime minister of Egypt 17:57 at that time. He was not the king. He 18:01 was the prime minister of Egypt. 18:02 Ultimately, the position of a prime 18:04 minister is a high one, isn't it? Yes. 18:08 Below the king. So, the one who bought 18:13 him was the prime minister of Egypt. 18:18 Prophet Yusuf lived in the palace of 18:24 this Aziz of Egypt, treated well, and 18:30 was not treated as a slave, even though 18:36 he was—a person who was originally 18:42 bought as a slave. But his master was 18:45 indeed kind. He even instructed his 18:49 wife to provide a good place for 18:51 Prophet Yusuf. Meaning, he was provided 18:55 with good care. Walamma balagha 19:00 asyuddahu ataynahu hukman wa ilma wa 19:04 kadzalika najzil muhsinin. Yes. And 19:09 when Prophet Yusuf reached maturity— 19:13 balagha asyuddahu—the exegetes differ 19:17 in their opinions here. What does it 19:22 mean? How old was Prophet Yusuf when it 19:26 is mentioned he reached maturity, 19:29 meaning when Prophet Yusuf attained 19:32 adulthood, a mature age? Some say, oh, 19:39 adulthood is usually 15 years old, like 19:42 that. There is also a mature age that 19:48 does not just mean adulthood. A 19:49 maturity that can be more than 15 years 19:52 . In fact, perfect maturity is 40 years 19:55 . Yes, as Allah mentions in the Quran. 20:04 Hatta idza balagha asyuddahu wa balagha 20:06 arba'ina sanah. So when, or at the time 20:13 that a child reaches their age of 20:16 maturity and reaches the age of forty. 20:23 This might also be 20:26 >> the age limit that we previously used 20:29 as a legal regulation, the age limit to 20:32 become president being 40 years old, 20:35 like that. 20:38 >> Yes, that is indeed the age of perfect 20:41 maturity. But it can also be in terms 20:46 of caring for orphans; Allah subhanahu 20:47 wa ta'ala also mentions ahsan. Yes. And 21:00 do not approach the wealth of an orphan 21:04 except in the best way. The meaning of 21:08 "approaching" here is taking care of 21:10 orphans. Whether they are orphans from 21:14 our relatives or someone else's. 21:20 Because one must be careful; one must 21:22 understand. Do not consume the wealth 21:26 of orphans. Because Allah threatens 21:31 those who consume the wealth of orphans 21:34 . Innal ladzina ya'kuluna amwalanal 21:38 yatama innama ya'kuluna fi butunihim 21:43 nara. Yes. Indeed, those who consume 21:49 the wealth of orphans unjustly innama 21:54 ya'kuluna fi butunihim. They are only 21:57 consuming fire into their bellies, and 21:59 they will enter the Hellfire. This is 22:03 in Surah An-Nisa. Verse 9, if I'm not 22:08 mistaken, before discussing inheritance 22:11 law. Because inheritance law is closely 22:17 related to this, as the heirs can be 22:20 orphans. Because if a father dies and 22:23 the children are still small, and the 22:25 inheritance is usually managed by an 22:28 uncle, for example, they must be very 22:31 careful in managing it. Do not let them 22:37 consume it all, so that when the child 22:39 grows up, the wealth is already gone. 22:43 Now, this doesn't mean it's forbidden, 22:47 but one must manage it in a proper way. 22:51 Until when? Hatta idza ahatta yablugha 22:55 asyuddah. Until he reaches adulthood. 23:01 An age where he can manage his own 23:04 money and his own wealth. It could be 23:08 15 or more, right? Now, this is the 23:11 meaning of what? Of what is mentioned 23:15 by Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala in the 23:19 Qur'an when mentioning lamma balagha 23:23 asyuddah. Indeed, the mufassirin have 23:25 different opinions. It means, certainly 23:29 , it has passed 15 years and has 23:32 reached a mature age. Now, Allah 23:38 Subhanahu wa ta'ala taught him Sharia 23:42 laws and also knowledge. These laws 23:46 cover what is halal and what is haram, 23:49 taught by Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. 23:53 Well, if Allah teaches, it is fast; it 23:56 is not like us teachers teaching 23:58 students, right? Now, that is Allah 24:06 atainahu hukman. First, the law is 24:08 taught. Oh, this is allowed, this is 24:10 not, only then is ilma mentioned, which 24:12 is various kinds of knowledge. 24:15 Knowledge. The word' law 'being placed 24:20 first has wisdom and a secret to it. 24:26 How we should educate children is by 24:28 teaching them first about the law, 24:31 about faith, piety, and character. Only 24:36 then, feel free to educate them with 24:40 various kinds of knowledge that will 24:44 make them experts. Because if knowledge 24:50 is not restrained or limited by 24:54 knowledge about the law, about what? 24:58 Faith, piety, and character. He could 25:03 indeed become a smart person, but his 25:09 intelligence might be used for evil 25:15 deeds. The crimes of an ignorant person 25:20 might be easily caught. But if a smart 25:23 person commits a crime, the crime will 25:26 surely be more dangerous. Now, Allah 25:31 Subhanahu wa ta'ala taught Prophet 25:33 Yusuf hukman wa ilma. Yes. Then, it 25:39 turns out Prophet Yusuf was...He had a 25:45 handsome and clean appearance. Now, he 25:54 was not only liked by the Aziz of Egypt 25:57 , but it turned out his wife also 26:01 fancied Prophet Yusuf. Now, Prophet 26:06 Yusuf Alaih Salam began to be someone 26:10 who purified his heart, only obedient 26:15 to Allah, and dedicated himself solely 26:19 to Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. Yes, he 26:26 was also obedient, for example, to the 26:29 one who cared for him, his master, 26:32 which is part of Allah's command. Yes, 26:37 because everyone is commanded by Allah 26:41 Subhanahu wa ta'ala to worship Allah 26:44 mukhlisina lahuddin with full sincerity 26:48 . This is Prophet Yusuf. He behaved and 26:56 had noble character. Now, when he had 27:01 reached a mature age. Now, it seems 27:10 what? The love of the Aziz of Egypt's 27:14 wife grew even stronger. Finally, she 27:18 attempted to seduce and conquer the 27:20 Prophet of Allah, Yusuf, peace be upon 27:23 him. hua fi baitiha nafsih. And then 27:33 the woman in whose Prophet of Allah 27:38 Yusuf lived in her house persuaded him 27:43 and seduced him, yes, an nafsihi, to 27:46 surrender himself. Warwadatullati hua 27:51 fi baitiha. Yes. And the woman in whose 27:56 house Prophet Yusuf lived seduced 28:02 Prophet Yusuf or tempted Prophet Yusuf 28:06 to, yes, surrender himself to, yes, to 28:09 surrender, I mean, the Prophet of Allah 28:12 Yusuf, yes. Meaning how he was seduced 28:17 to commit an indecent act like that. 28:21 Apparently, yes, this act was already 28:26 planned and she, uh, closed the doors. 28:32 Wallaqtil abwab. The doors were closed 28:36 so that no one would find out, yes. 28:39 Apparently not just in the house, but 28:41 entering the rooms as well. House doors 28:43 , room doors, everything was closed. 28:46 Wallaqatil abwab waqalat haalak. Then 28:50 the woman said, "Hai talak, come here." 28:55 The Prophet of Allah Yusuf, yes, when 29:00 tempted by a beautiful woman, a woman 29:04 of status, noble, yes, possessing 29:08 wealth. This is a great temptation and 29:12 there was no one there at that time. 29:15 Yes, this is a test of faith. This is a 29:20 war, yes, against worldly desires. 29:24 Prophet Yusuf is a normal man, right? 29:28 Prophet Yusuf is not an angel, yes. 29:32 Prophet Yusuf is a human who, in his 29:34 heart, in himself, surely has such 29:36 desires. Meaning there is a desire, yes 29:40 , for women, it's normal since he is a 29:44 human, right? If it were an angel, 29:46 there wouldn't be, no, there wouldn't 29:48 be such desires. Now, but how is this 29:53 temptation of desire overcome by the 29:59 Prophet of Allah Yusuf, peace be upon 30:02 him, when the woman seduced the Prophet 30:04 of Allah Yusuf? Not just any woman, a 30:09 noble woman, a beautiful woman, yes, a 30:11 woman who possesses wealth like that. 30:16 And meaning inside her house the doors 30:22 were already closed. What was the 30:25 response of the Prophet of Allah Yusuf 30:28 when invited by this woman, yes, to 30:31 perform such an indecent act? Qala 30:36 maadallah. The first thing, yes, 30:39 Prophet Yusuf said, "Maadallah," 30:42 meaning I seek refuge in Allah. Yes, 30:46 this is the first foundation, yes. 30:50 Someone whose heart is always connected 30:53 to Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala, certainly 30:56 when facing trials, the first thing is 30:59 that he remembers Allah Subhanahu wa 31:02 ta'ala. Maadallah. Yes, this is a short 31:07 utterance, yes. Meaning I seek refuge 31:12 in Allah. If we say it fully, " 31:14 Audzubillahi minash-shaytanir-rajim," 31:17 for example, like that, yes. This is 31:20 the short response, yes, when receiving 31:23 temptation from that woman. Maadallah. 31:27 Then it's not just that. The second, 31:31 innahu ahsana matwai. Yes, he said, " 31:36 Indeed, my master," the word' rabbi ' 31:39 here is not, even though some exegetes 31:42 say this refers to my Lord, yes. But 31:48 most exegetes say it refers to my 31:51 master. Because, uh, why? Rabba yurabbi 31:56 means the one who cares for, yes. Allah 31:59 is Rabb, yes, Rabbul' alamin. Allah is 32:04 the one who cares for us. The word Rabb 32:07 does not only refer to Allah as 32:09 Rububiyah. Being Rabb means Allah who 32:13 creates, who sustains, who nurtures, 32:18 who regulates. That is the meaning of 32:20 Rabb, yes. The meaning of Rabb. Now, in 32:24 this context, the intent is to remind 32:32 the master's wife, so she remembers, " 32:37 You are my master's wife." Innahu rabbi 32:43 ahsana matway. "Indeed, my master has 32:48 given me a good position," treating me 32:51 well. How could I betray him? By 32:54 engaging in inappropriate relations 32:57 with his wife. This simultaneously 33:02 serves to strengthen Prophet Yusuf and 33:06 remind the woman not to pursue her 33:09 desires. Then, Prophet Yusuf 33:14 immediately says, "Innahu la 33:16 yuflihuz-zalimun." Third, indeed the 33:21 wrongdoers, those who wrong themselves 33:25 or wrong others, by betraying their 33:29 master like that. Engaging in 33:33 inappropriate relations with the 33:35 master's wife is an act of wrongdoing. 33:39 Innahu la yuflihuz-zalimun. Indeed, the 33:43 wrongdoers will not succeed. These 33:49 three things in Prophet Yusuf's heart 33:51 are what strengthened him. Then, it is 33:57 told in the next verse, "Walaqad hammat 34:01 bihi wa hamma biha lawla ar raa burhana 34:04 rabbihi." Indeed, the woman had 34:09 intended to engage in inappropriate 34:12 relations with Prophet Yusuf. Wa hamma 34:17 biha. And Prophet Yusuf, as a human, 34:21 also had the desire for that. Himmah or 34:27 hammah means what? That kind of desire, 34:30 that is human nature. But "lawla ar raa 34:32 burhana rabbihi." If not for seeing the 34:36 proof from his Lord, the evidence from 34:39 his Lord, which is how Allah Subhanahu 34:42 wa ta'ala forbids sexual relations 34:44 outside of marriage. Especially if it 34:48 is someone else's wife, right. Adultery 34:53 is something that is forbidden. This is 34:57 what Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala 35:00 mentioned earlier, "Atainahu hukman wa 35:05 'ilman.""We gave him judgment and 35:07 knowledge." Yes. So, based on what 35:12 Prophet Yusuf already knew about 35:18 Allah's decree, that adultery is an act 35:24 forbidden by Allah and a major sin, he 35:30 did not pursue it. So it is mentioned 35:35 here, "wa hamma biha lawla ar raa 35:38 burhana rabbihi." Interestingly, there 35:44 was someone, a descendant of our 35:53 Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi 35:55 wasallam. He was asked by the ruler of 36:02 his time, during the Abbasid era, about 36:07 this verse. "Isn't a Prophet infallible 36:12 ?""Why did Prophet Yusuf also have the 36:17 desire to commit that inappropriate act 36:22 ?" It was answered by Imam Ali ar-Ridha 36:27 , if I recall correctly, he said, "You 36:32 must understand this verse correctly."" 36:37 What was the woman's desire?""Walaqad 36:40 hammat bihi." This is an absolute 36:43 desire without any hesitation. But if 36:47 Prophet Yusuf's desire existed, it was 36:50 a desire constrained by his Lord’s 36:52 proof. So, it should be understood like 36:54 this. He read it like this. Understand 36:57 this verse like this. Laula arroa 37:00 burhana rabbihi lahamma biha. If not 37:04 for Prophet Yusuf seeing and perceiving 37:07 proof from his Lord, he would surely 37:09 have been interested. That is the 37:13 meaning. Uh, many exegetes narrated 37:20 that Prophet Yusuf, upon seeing "Burhan 37:23 rabbi," saw an image, perhaps his 37:26 father's face, that forbade him. It is 37:31 not like that. "Burhan rabbihi" refers 37:34 to the laws of Allah, the proofs of 37:36 Allah the Almighty, and also the depth 37:39 of Prophet Yusuf's faith. That is why' 37:44 raa 'here doesn't necessarily mean to 37:46 see physically,' raa 'can also mean to 37:49 have a viewpoint. What is your view? 37:53 Your opinion, like that. Or' raa 'can 37:57 also be' raa fil manam '.' Fil manam ' 37:59 means dreaming. Dreaming. So, if' raa ' 38:06 here is used, it certainly means to 38:10 have a viewpoint, to perceive or 38:14 consider the Lord’s proof. So, why 38:20 did Allah present this? Why were both 38:24 said to have' hamma '(inclination)? It 38:27 means to show that Prophet Yusuf was 38:31 also a human who naturally had desires. 38:36 But how could Prophet Yusuf's desires 38:38 be suppressed? This is what is known as 38:42 ' jihadun nafs '. Jihad against one's 38:46 own desires. Yes, the Prophet Muhammad, 38:50 peace be upon him, once returned from a 38:56 battle and said what?' Raj'na minal 39:00 jihadil asghar ila jihadil akbar. 'We 39:04 have just returned from the minor jihad 39:06 to the greater jihad. The minor jihad, 39:12 war, is a struggle that requires wealth 39:18 , energy, and sacrifice; one might even 39:24 fall in battle. But the Prophet said 39:28 from the minor jihad to the greater 39:30 jihad, which is the jihad against one's 39:33 own desires. Because how many people 39:39 are champions on the battlefield but 39:43 fail when facing their own desires? 39:48 Because in war, the enemy is visible. 39:51 Desires are inside us, like that. Once, 39:56 in a battle, the Prophet, peace be upon 39:58 him, heard his companions praising 40:03 someone. There was a Muslim who was so 40:08 great in battle. So valiant, so brave. 40:13 But it turned out he eventually fell. 40:17 People were already praising him. But 40:20 then the Prophet said what?' Hua finar. 40:23 'He is in the fire. The companions were 40:27 shocked, why would that be? He was 40:29 fighting, wasn't he? Ah, before the 40:31 battle ended, it turned out he had 40:34 stolen, or what is' stealing '? He took 40:38 and hid a garment. Clothing. Apparently 40:43 , there was good clothing worn by the 40:45 enemy; in the past, during battles, the 40:48 disbelievers often brought various 40:51 equipment and jewelry as 40:53 >> provisions 40:54 >> provisions and also as a source of 40:56 pride for them. 40:57 >> Yeah. It turns out he defeated that 41:01 person and took his clothes. Even 41:06 though later, after the war was over, 41:07 that person would have received war 41:09 spoils. But no, he committed treason 41:14 beforehand. In the end, he was killed 41:16 like that. This means he was brave 41:19 enough to fight the enemy but lost 41:22 against 41:23 >> fighting his own desires. How many 41:27 people are champions on the battlefield 41:31 but lose against their own desires. Now 41:36 , look at how Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala 41:39 describes the Prophet Yusuf 41:40 Alaihissalam with the firmness of his 41:43 faith his patience and his strength in 41:48 resisting the temptations of his 41:51 desires. That is why Allah says " 41:53 wahamma biha." The word "hamma" here 41:57 means a desire that is not carried out. 42:01 While the woman actually wanted to 42:03 carry it out. In one hadith that 42:07 contains the word "hamma," the 42:08 Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, 42:10 once said, "Man hamma bihasanatin falam 42:17 ya'malha falahu hasanatun kamilah." 42:23 Whoever intends to do a good deed but 42:26 doesn't get the chance to do it, 42:28 doesn't get to carry it out, just 42:30 intends to do good but it doesn't 42:32 happen. 42:36 >> Allah has already given him one reward. 42:40 Waman hamma bihasanatin fa'amilaha. 42:45 Whoever intends to perform a good deed 42:49 and then does it, he gets 10 good deeds 42:57 or up to 700 times over. Conversely, 43:03 someone who intends to commit a bad 43:06 deed or sin, as mentioned before. Waman 43:11 hamma bisayyi'atin falam ya'malha. 43:15 Whoever intends to commit a sin then 43:19 cancels it, doesn't go through with it, 43:22 suppresses his desires, and abandons 43:26 that sin, falahu hasanatun kamilah. He 43:30 gets one good deed. So he had the 43:35 intention, the "himmah," earlier. But 43:39 he didn't carry it out, like Prophet 43:41 Yusuf. There was an urge in his heart, 43:46 but he suppressed it. He did not carry 43:50 it out, and he said "Ma'adallah, innahu 43:55 ahsana mathwaya..." Like that. These 44:00 are expressions of how Prophet Yusuf 44:02 suppressed his desires. So, what did 44:08 the Prophet say earlier? Waman hamma 44:11 bisayyi'atin falam ya'malha falahu 44:13 hasanatun kamilah. Whoever intends to 44:17 commit a bad deed but then cancels it, 44:22 doesn't do it, he gets one good deed. 44:28 Waman hamma bihasanatin fa'amilaha. But 44:31 whoever intends to commit a bad deed 44:34 and then carries it out, what does he 44:37 get? Sayyi'atun wahidah. He gets a sin 44:41 for that bad deed, but it is only one 44:43 sin. Yes, this is indeed a blessing 44:47 from Allah. How good deeds, if carried 44:50 out, are immediately rewarded by Allah 44:53 with at least 10 times over. Even if he 44:58 hasn't done it yet, just by intending 45:01 to do it but being prevented from doing 45:04 so, he still gets a good deed. One good 45:07 deed, just like that. This is part of 45:10 the mercy of Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. 45:15 Sayyidina Ali once said, "Alas, truly 45:18 lost is the person whose tens are 45:21 defeated by his ones." What does that 45:24 mean? It means that when weighed on the 45:28 Day of Judgment, it turns out his bad 45:30 deeds are more than his good deeds. 45:33 Whereas a bad deed only has a value of 45:35 one when committed. 45:36 >> While a good deed has a value of ten. 45:39 Yes, when weighed, it turns out the bad 45:41 deeds are still more numerous. Isn't 45:44 that excessive? Allah has already given 45:47 us mercy, right? Every good deed is 45:51 rewarded up to ten times over. But, as 45:54 it turns out, he prefers to commit such 46:00 bad deeds yes. So here, Allah Subhanahu 46:07 wa ta'ala describes how both of them 46:10 have' himmah '(intent/desire). But 46:14 one's' himmah 'is absolute, appearing 46:17 bound as if they truly want to unleash 46:20 their desires. But Prophet Yusuf's' 46:25 himmah 'was restrained and controlled, 46:28 because he saw and perceived the proof 46:32 from his Lord. Kadzalika linasrifa' 46:36 an-hus-su'a wal-fahsya '. Thus, we 46:41 averted evil and lewdness away from him 46:46 . Look at how beautiful the expression 46:51 of the Qur'an is here. Showing how 46:55 strong Prophet Yusuf was in suppressing 46:57 his base desires. Yes, not suppressing 47:03 them until they die, not that. Yes, it 47:05 means controlling his base desires. Yes 47:12 , how unique is the phrasing here? Thus 47:18 , we averted evil and lewdness away 47:22 from him. So it is not Prophet Yusuf 47:27 who was diverted from lewdness, but 47:30 rather the lewdness and evil that were 47:32 diverted from him. It is as if it shows 47:36 that Prophet Yusuf was like a sturdy 47:38 mountain. The evil was deflected here 47:41 and there like that. This shows how a 47:45 person full of sincerity in their 47:47 devotion to Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala 47:49 is. Yes, just like that. And this is 47:54 also explained at the end of this verse 47:56 , verse 24, Allah says "innahu min' 47:59 ibadinal-mukhlasin." Indeed, Prophet 48:02 Yusuf was among our sincere (purified) 48:05 servants. Yes, 'mukhlasin' comes from 48:08 the root word 'mukhlis'. When we 48:10 worship, we say "wama umiru illa 48:13 liya'budullaha mukhlisina lahuddin." If 48:16 'mukhlisin', that is the initial level. 48:20 We are commanded to be 'mukhlis', to be 48:23 sincere in our worship, in our deeds, 48:27 and in all kinds of worship we must 48:30 perform with full sincerity. If we are 48:34 sincere, we are called 'mukhlis'. If we 48:37 are persistent in this sincerity, then 48:39 Allah raises us to become 'mukhlasin'. 48:43 If you are 'mukhlasin', never mind 48:45 human temptations, even the devil is 48:47 afraid. Yes, the devil himself has 48:51 already revealed his cards. Iblis is 48:55 the leader of the devils, right? 48:59 Stating in Surah Sad, verses 82-83, " 49:02 fabi'izzatika la-ughwiyannahum."" 49:07 Ajma'in"(all of them). Iblis said, "By 49:09 your might." Swearing by Allah, by Your 49:13 might, I will surely mislead them all. 49:16 I will do what? Mislead them. Meaning 49:20 all of the descendants of Prophet Adam. 49:23 Then Iblis revealed his cards, "illa ' 49:26 ibadaka minhumul-mukhlasin." Except for 49:28 Your servants among them who are' 49:29 mukhlasin '. The meaning is that it 49:32 starts from' mukhlis '(sincere) then 49:34 becomes' mukhlas '(purified). Yes. So 49:37 here the sentence is not about the 49:39 grammatical vowel marks, but that is 49:42 indeed the reading.' Mukhlasin ', yes. 49:45 Not "innahu min' ibadinal-mukhlisin." 49:47 Not that. Yes, 'mukhlisin' is just a 49:50 stage toward the perfection of one who 49:53 is sincere in their worship. Yes, one 49:56 must be 'mukhlis' first, then Allah 49:58 will raise them to be 'mukhlasin'. Yes, 50:01 as I have often explained regarding the 50:03 Hadith Qudsi. If we want to reach for 50:06 Allah's mercy and His grace, we must 50:09 first come to Allah. ourselves. Whoever 50:12 comes a span closer, Allah comes a 50:14 cubit closer. Whoever comes a cubit 50:16 closer, Allah comes a fathom closer. 50:18 Whoever comes to Allah walking, Allah 50:21 comes to him, greeting him by running. 50:25 This illustrates that we must first 50:29 come to Allah, repent, seek forgiveness 50:35 , and show our piety and obedience to 50:40 Him. Striving to purify our hearts in 50:44 our deeds. Not to gain praise, not to 50:50 get wealth, not to seek flattery, fame, 50:55 or the like; no, it must be only for 50:59 the sake of Allah. Because the deeds 51:04 accepted by Allah are only those done 51:07 with sincerity, solely for Allah 51:10 Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. This is what Allah 51:13 describes regarding the Prophet Yusuf, 51:16 peace be upon him. Yes, "innahu min 51:20 ibadinal mukhlashin.""Indeed, he was 51:24 among Our chosen servants." The authors 51:28 mention here what is meant by "burhan 51:31 rabbih"(the proof from his Lord). Many 51:37 interpreters mention, yes...what was it 51:43 that Prophet Yusuf saw? So that Prophet 51:48 Yusuf did not carry out his inclination 51:51 . He suppressed his inclination. Some 51:56 interpreters mention that the "proof 51:58 from his Lord" refers to knowledge, 51:59 faith, human upbringing, and his 52:01 prominent characteristics. First, some 52:06 opine that it was his knowledge and 52:09 faith, as well as his moral and human 52:12 education and the prominent traits 52:15 within Prophet Yusuf. Yes. Second, some 52:21 say it refers to his knowledge of the 52:23 prohibition of adultery, meaning the " 52:26 proof from his Lord" was his awareness 52:29 of the forbidden status of adultery. 52:32 Right? For it is said, "We gave him 52:36 judgment and knowledge." We gave 52:39 Prophet Yusuf judgment, meaning how he 52:42 understood what is lawful and what is 52:45 forbidden, including that adultery is 52:48 forbidden; Prophet Yusuf had been 52:51 informed. Third, some argue that the " 52:56 proof" refers to the station of 52:59 prophethood and his state of "ismah," 53:02 meaning his protection from sin. 53:05 Meaning his preservation from 53:07 committing sins. A fourth says this 53:12 refers to divine intervention, meaning 53:16 assistance from Allah Subhanahu wa 53:19 Ta'ala. Which reached him in that 53:22 critical moment due to his righteous 53:24 deeds. Which Allah used to help him in 53:28 such a critical moment because of his 53:30 righteous deeds. Now, that is roughly 53:37 how it is. Also, there is a saying that 53:41 in the palace...of the Egyptian Prime 53:46 Minister, there were many statues. And 53:50 it is said that when...the wife of the 53:56 Aziz, the Prime Minister's wife, wanted 53:59 to commit an act without being seen, 54:02 she covered the statues with cloth. 54:06 >> Their eyes, 54:06 >> so that they wouldn't see it. Prophet 54:09 Yusuf essentially said, if you are 54:12 ashamed before an idol, how could you 54:15 not be ashamed before Allah, the 54:17 All-Seeing? It is like that. But for 54:20 certain, *burhan rabbi*, *burhan*means 54:23 proof, an argument, the laws from his 54:25 Lord. So how Prophet Yusuf saw this as 54:30 an act that is forbidden. Because in 54:36 the previous verse it was explained 54:37 that Allah had given him*hukman wa ' 54:39 ilman*. Now, naturally, it was 54:46 regarding what? Jihad against the self 54:50 and also the*almukhlasin*, right. So* 54:55 almukhlasin*is the peak level from the 54:58 level of people who were initially* 55:00 mukhlis*. Meaning they make themselves 55:03 sincere first, training themselves to 55:05 be sincere. Sometimes, when people give 55:08 charity or do good, a thought 55:10 occasionally crosses their heart 55:12 wanting to be praised. When someone 55:15 sees it and doesn't say thank you, well 55:18 , suppressing that, that is learning to 55:20 be sincere. 55:22 >> Just let it be. Yes. Because we must 55:25 remember we are expecting a reward from 55:28 Allah. If it's thanks from humans, it's 55:30 just a little, isn't it? Sometimes it's 55:35 worth nothing. If it is from Allah, 55:37 Allah is*Syakur*. Allah has the 55:39 attribute of*Syakur*, the Most 55:40 Appreciative. Meaning Allah will reward 55:43 us. Yes, if people give something, they 55:46 sometimes just say thank you. But Allah 55:50 rewards us, He shows favor to us if we 55:53 do good, by rewarding it many times 55:55 over. So, this sincerity indeed must 56:01 initially be trained, so that later it 56:06 flows naturally on its own. This is 56:11 what becomes the high degree, which is 56:15 called the*almukhlasin*. Because it is 56:19 already 9:00 PM, perhaps 56:20 >> we won't reach verse 29. God willing, 56:23 we will continue later. It is getting 56:26 more interesting because Allah Himself 56:28 mentions how this story was told to our 56:31 Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, 56:34 which Allah called*ahsanal qasas*. The 56:37 best of stories, because there is so 56:38 much wisdom within the story of Prophet 56:40 Yusuf. It is not just a passing story. 56:44 In the Qur'an, everything that Allah 56:46 conveys contains wisdom, contains 56:48 lessons, and contains education. 56:52 Wallahu subhanahu wa ta'ala a'lam. 56:56 >> Alright, alhamdulillah, we have 56:57 listened together to the evening 56:59 lecture delivered by Ustadz Hamzah 57:01 Alatas. We together pondered over Quran 57:06 Surah Yusuf verses 21 up to 24, right 57:09 Ustadz? 57:11 >> Perhaps it didn't reach 29, God willing 57:13 , next week we will continue due to 57:15 time. To those who have joined, 57:17 commented this evening, and sent 57:19 WhatsApp messages, thank you very much 57:22 for listening via Rasil TV YouTube or 57:24 Rasil Radio. Here are the greetings 57:28 that came in: one from Mr. Amsir 57:30 Tabrani in Kemang, "Thank you, Ustadz, 57:33 for the advice and the enlightenment." 57:36 We also have greetings from Mr. Budi in 57:38 Jakarta, Mr. Rama Mitra in South 57:40 Tangerang, Mrs. Sundari who is tuning 57:42 in, and Mrs. Ani Hudaifa who is always 57:45 faithfully following our broadcast. 57:49 Next, we have greetings from Eyang Sri, 57:52 Mrs. Aminah Citra Indah, and also Mrs. 57:54 Arsi in Sukabumi who is watching us 57:57 tonight. I will read the first question 58:01 , Ustaz. This one came in from a 58:03 servant of Allah who did not include 58:05 their name. Assalamu'alaikum 58:06 warahmatullahi wabarakatuh, Ustaz. 58:08 >> Wa'alaikumussalam warahmatullahi 58:10 wabarakatuh. 58:10 >> Ustaz. There are people who have been 58:13 praying for years for their lives to 58:16 change, but their situation has not 58:18 improved. Looking at the journey of 58:22 Prophet Yusuf in the Surah Yusuf 58:24 earlier, must we continue to be patient 58:26 even if we don't know when Allah's help 58:28 will come? How long should we be 58:32 patient as ordinary humans, Ustaz? 58:34 Please enlighten us. Thank you. 58:36 >> Well, yes, we need to understand and 58:43 realize that life in this world is a 58:45 test. Yes, a test. Every time we are 58:49 tested, like taking an exam, we will 58:52 keep advancing, yes. 58:55 >> If we are truly patient in going 58:58 through it. Patience doesn't mean just 59:01 giving up. Many people say, "We've been 59:03 patient, why hasn't anything changed?" 59:05 A patient person is persistent in their 59:07 efforts, yes, in facing the test. 59:10 Tenacious, steadfast, and consistent, 59:12 like that, yes. Like someone who keeps 59:14 trying. Oh, I keep falling, my efforts 59:18 keep failing. Don't just give up. A 59:22 patient person will fail, then try 59:24 again. Fail, then try again. Until 59:26 >> yes, while learning why it failed, why 59:29 there was no progress, like that, 59:32 >> it is studied. Yes, that is why many 59:35 successful people are like that, yes. 59:40 Besides that, pray, because Allah 59:42 Subhanahu wa Ta'ala mentions, " 59:44 Wasta'inu bish-shabri wash-shalah." And 59:49 seek help. It doesn't specify what kind 59:52 of help. Any kind of help, yes, in any 59:55 matter. The request, of course, is to 59:58 Allah. In what way? By being helped 1:00:01 with that patience. Patience doesn't 1:00:04 just mean resignation, but how patience 1:00:08 >> means as-subutu wa tahammulu wal 1:00:13 istiqamatu fi muqamatil or fi muqobilil 1:00:17 makruhat. meaning tenacity, resilience, 1:00:23 steadfastness, and consistency in 1:00:26 facing various unpleasant things like 1:00:31 that. That is patience, yes. So, and 1:00:34 the story of Prophet Yusuf, starting 1:00:38 from when he told his dream when he was 1:00:42 small, maybe around 7 years old, 7 or 8 1:00:47 years old. And he only succeeded in 1:00:53 becoming a king after tens of years. 1:00:57 >> Yes. Yes. So, it is lived with full 1:01:02 patience, resilience, and sincerity. 1:01:08 Then Allah keeps raising his status, 1:01:10 starting from being saved from the evil 1:01:13 of what? The evil of his brothers. Then 1:01:18 receiving even greater tests from the 1:01:20 Aziz and the wife of the Aziz earlier, 1:01:22 yes. Then later being imprisoned again, 1:01:27 yes, like that. And this continues, yes 1:01:30 , this test is endured. That is how it 1:01:34 is if we face various trials with 1:01:37 patience and keep trying, God willing, 1:01:39 Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala will provide 1:01:42 relief. Yes, but remember so that we do 1:01:47 not get disappointed, do not despair, 1:01:51 know that every trial is counted by 1:01:56 Allah 1:01:57 >> as a reward. Allah wipes away our sins, 1:02:00 Allah raises our status. 1:02:02 >> Even tests, says the Prophet Sallallahu 1:02:05 Alaihi Wasallam, hatta firaqi nah or 1:02:08 hatta yusakuha. Even when the test is 1:02:11 getting pricked by a thorn, being 1:02:13 pricked by a thorn is sometimes, oh, 1:02:15 because of our own negligence. 1:02:17 >> Even being pricked by a thorn is a test 1:02:19 , if we are patient we get a reward, 1:02:22 >> that way our sins are wiped away. 1:02:24 >> Even small, trivial things, 1:02:26 >> small things, like our sandal breaking 1:02:28 while walking, Allah counts the reward 1:02:30 for that too, let alone other tests. 1:02:33 >> This is actually a blessing from Allah 1:02:35 Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala; there is no test 1:02:38 we experience that, if we go through it 1:02:41 with patience, will not earn us a 1:02:43 reward and raise our status. 1:02:45 Wallahu'alam. 1:02:46 >> Alright. 1:02:47 >> Keep having a good opinion of Allah. Ye 1:02:49 >> yes. Yes. 1:02:51 >> Okay. And stay enthusiastic to keep 1:02:53 trying. Alright. Next, we move to a 1:02:56 question sent by Mr. Rahmat Hidayat in 1:02:59 Pondok Gede. 1:03:01 >> Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi 1:03:02 wabarakatuh, Ustaz. 1:03:03 >> Waalaikumsalam warahmatullahi 1:03:04 wabarakatuh. Warahmatullah. Ustaz, 1:03:06 Prophet Yusuf at that time was still in 1:03:08 a weak state and had no power. But 1:03:10 Allah later raised his status. In life 1:03:14 today, how should we treat the poor, 1:03:17 subordinates, or people who have no 1:03:20 position? What should we do for those 1:03:24 people, Ustaz? That is all. Yes. What? 1:03:30 Well, it is also told how when the 1:03:33 Prophet of Allah, Yusuf, already had a 1:03:36 position, how he strived to pay 1:03:39 attention to those who were weak, 1:03:43 striving to provide food for them. 1:03:46 Especially when famine came, not only 1:03:50 from the land of Egypt, but around 1:03:53 Egypt, the area of Canaan, and 1:03:55 everything, even the place of his 1:03:58 parents, Prophet Yusuf provided help to 1:04:02 them. Yes, sometimes they trade, people 1:04:07 who have a sense of pride, meaning a 1:04:11 sense of self-respect. 1:04:15 >> They don't want to come and beg, but 1:04:16 they bring goods. 1:04:18 >> To be traded for food. Sometimes the 1:04:21 items were not valuable, but they were 1:04:24 still given what they needed. This 1:04:27 provides a picture of how the family of 1:04:30 Prophet Yusuf, even in this difficult 1:04:33 time of famine and wanting to get help 1:04:37 from the King of Egypt, came by 1:04:39 bringing goods for barter. So it is not 1:04:45 by begging, but this is a picture of 1:04:49 how a person has self-respect and the 1:04:53 purity of soul, they do not want to beg 1:04:57 . And this is important for us to pay 1:05:01 attention to. So in the Quran, people 1:05:06 who guard their honor even though they 1:05:09 are actually in need are called "miskin 1:05:11 "(poor). 1:05:13 >> Hm. Yes, often if we read or hear 1:05:17 explanations about the difference 1:05:19 between "fakir" and "miskin," it is 1:05:21 explained incorrectly like that. It is 1:05:24 not based on the Quran or the Sunnah of 1:05:25 the Prophet. "Fakir" is defined as 1:05:29 someone in need; for example, if they 1:05:33 need 10, they only get three. 1:05:36 >> Yes. As for the "poor," if they need 10 1:05:39 , they only have seven. Why isn't this 1:05:44 explained in the Quran? Why isn't this 1:05:48 explained by the hadith of our Prophet 1:05:50 Muhammad, peace be upon him? In the 1:05:53 Quran, the word for "poor" appears more 1:05:55 often than the word for "needy." Why is 1:05:59 that? Because the poor deserve more 1:06:02 attention than the needy. Generally, we 1:06:06 say that a "needy" person is someone 1:06:08 who is poor but begs. 1:06:09 >> H 1:06:10 >> It means they lack self-respect. Some 1:06:14 people beg out of necessity, that is 1:06:15 not an issue. But some people make 1:06:18 begging their profession. 1:06:21 >> Right? There are. 1:06:22 >> It’s become a habit. Oh, I see. 1:06:24 Begging here, but having a luxury home 1:06:26 in their village because it's their 1:06:28 profession. That is despicable. 1:06:30 >> Truly despicable. But who is the "poor" 1:06:33 person? Someone who is also in need. 1:06:35 But they keep trying, they keep working 1:06:37 , though their work isn't enough. 1:06:40 >> They don't beg; they have self-respect. 1:06:42 This is who we must pay attention to. 1:06:45 >> Allah mentions the poor more often than 1:06:47 the needy. Wa yuhdu' alal miskin. It 1:06:51 doesn't say 'alal faqir, no. 1:06:53 >> Yes, that's right. 1:06:54 >> The Prophet himself explained it, and 1:06:56 the Quran also explains the difference 1:06:59 between the poor and the needy. 1:07:02 Regarding the poor, Allah says: "Lil 1:07:05 fuqarilladina usiru fi sabilillahi la 1:07:09 yastati'una daban fil-ard..." This is 1:07:19 the definition of the poor. Even though 1:07:22 they were initially called needy, it 1:07:25 means they are people in need. Yes, 1:07:31 Allah says, "Lil fuqarilladzina usiru 1:07:33 fi sabilillah," charity is given to the 1:07:36 poor who are constrained in the way of 1:07:39 Allah. They cannot, trade, for example, 1:07:48 or earn enough money to cover their 1:07:50 needs because they are, for instance, 1:07:53 Quran teachers, or they work in an 1:07:55 institution with an insufficient salary 1:07:58 . Yes. "Yahsabuhumul jahilu aghniya'a 1:08:03 minat-ta'affuf." Those who don't know 1:08:06 them think they are not in need, that 1:08:08 they are well-off. Why? Because these 1:08:11 people maintain their honor. They do 1:08:13 not beg from others. 1:08:15 >> People who don't beg are thought to not 1:08:16 be in need. If someone begs, people 1:08:18 assume they are in need. Why? Even 1:08:21 though they are in need, they practice 1:08:22 self-restraint. "Ta'affuf" is being 1:08:24 dignified, maintaining one's 1:08:25 self-respect. 1:08:27 >> And in the story of Prophet Yusuf, it 1:08:29 is explained how his family, despite 1:08:31 needing food, did not want to beg, so 1:08:33 they brought their belongings— 1:08:35 essentially scrap items. 1:08:37 >> So to speak. They brought these things 1:08:40 to avoid begging. 1:08:42 >> Yes. They wanted to barter. 1:08:45 >> Yes. Now, this ignorance yes. So people 1:08:56 who don't know us, or rather, who don't 1:09:00 know the poor person, 1:09:04 >> think that they are 1:09:06 >> well-off 1:09:06 >> well-off people. Takrifuhum bisimahum. 1:09:14 But you can recognize them by their 1:09:16 characteristics. La yasalunanasa ilhafa 1:09:20 . They do not beg from people 1:09:22 incessantly like that. 1:09:24 >> Well. Well, these are the traits of the 1:09:26 poor. These are the poor who do not beg 1:09:28 and maintain their self-respect. This 1:09:31 is mentioned a lot in the Qur'an. 1:09:33 >> Always talking about the poor. Also in 1:09:38 the Prophet's hadith, laisal miskin man 1:09:41 tadufu matuan. The poor person is not 1:09:50 one who is found begging and walking 1:09:53 around. Uh. That one. So, the Prophet 1:10:00 said in his hadith, the one called poor 1:10:03 is not someone who likes to go from 1:10:05 door to door asking for donations, 1:10:07 asking for what? Asking for. 1:10:09 >> Money like that. Back then, asking for 1:10:12 a date or two like that. That is not 1:10:14 the poor person, says the Prophet. 1:10:17 >> Indeed, the poor person is someone who 1:10:19 maintains their dignity, meaning their 1:10:21 self-respect. Yes, they do not beg from 1:10:25 people like that. This defines the poor 1:10:28 person. H. 1:10:29 >> Yes, something like that. 1:10:31 >> Yes. Wallahu a'lam (God knows best). 1:10:33 >> So we must be sensitive, right? 1:10:34 Sensitive towards our citizens, who is 1:10:36 actually needy. 1:10:38 >> But they don't beg, right? Just because 1:10:40 they don't beg, we must pay attention. 1:10:43 >> To those like this. That's why time and 1:10:46 time again when people are punished in 1:10:49 hell, it is said, "Ma salakakum fi 1:10:51 saqar?""Lam naku minal musallin wa lam 1:10:57 nut'imil miskin, wa kunna nakudu ma'al 1:11:00 kha'idin." Why were you, they are asked 1:11:04 , the inhabitants of hell, why did you 1:11:06 enter Saqar hell? They confess, "Lam 1:11:10 naku minal musallin." We were not among 1:11:14 those who prayed. "Wa lam nut'imil 1:11:17 miskin." We never fed the poor. 1:11:22 >> Poor again, not needy (fakir) here. Yes 1:11:24 . 1:11:25 >> Like that. 1:11:26 >> Alright. 1:11:27 >> Wallahu a'lam. So yes, we must pay 1:11:29 attention continuously. 1:11:31 >> Pay attention. Masyaallah. 1:11:32 >> Yeah. 1:11:32 >> Is there another one that came in, 1:11:33 Ustaz? There is still time, right? 1:11:34 Maybe one more. One more question from 1:11:37 Ibu Rahma. But I apologize, this is 1:11:40 off-topic, Ustaz. Please enlighten us. 1:11:42 Assalamu'alaikum warahmatullahi 1:11:44 wabarakatuh. 1:11:45 >> Wa'alaikumussalam warahmatullahi 1:11:46 wabarakatuh. 1:11:46 >> Maybe others have heard of it, but I 1:11:48 want to hear an explanation from the 1:11:50 Ustaz regarding the "ain"(evil eye) 1:11:52 disease, Ustaz. Is there an explanation 1:11:54 for the "ain" disease in the Qur'an? 1:11:57 How can someone's envy affect our 1:12:00 health and life through photos we post 1:12:03 on social media? Did this ever happen 1:12:08 during the Prophet's time, Ustaz? 1:12:10 Please enlighten us. That is. Yes. 1:12:17 Regarding this matter. Indeed, I also 1:12:21 often hear about it, like "al-ain haqq" 1:12:24 (the evil eye is real), we have been 1:12:26 warned since childhood to be careful of 1:12:28 the dangers of envious people. 1:12:32 >> People who are envious, in general, 1:12:34 will carry out various kinds of efforts 1:12:37 . 1:12:38 >> Hm. Yes. And yes, the jinns, the devils 1:12:43 also want, what is called the work of 1:12:46 the devil, that means not the jinn. 1:12:50 Because jinns can be Muslim or 1:12:51 disbelievers, right. The devil is. 1:12:54 >> Yes, Satan is definitely the evil one. 1:12:57 >> Hm. 1:12:59 >> Because that is his nature, so Satan 1:13:02 and his followers surely want people to 1:13:05 fall into that envy. 1:13:08 >> Hm. Yes. Well, therefore, it could 1:13:11 indeed be assisted by Satan like that. 1:13:15 >> Now, there are others who say that it 1:13:17 also involves the power of the eye, 1:13:20 like that. "Ain" awareness comes from 1:13:22 the word "ain"(evil eye). 1:13:23 >> Yes. 1:13:24 >> The power of the eye, it really could 1:13:27 also just be from suggestion, like that 1:13:29 . 1:13:31 >> Yes. But if a person trusts in Allah 1:13:34 Subhanahu wa ta'ala, they should also 1:13:38 not, I mean...they should not expose 1:13:43 themselves to being envied by others, 1:13:45 right? 1:13:46 >> Because there are people who like to 1:13:48 show off, and that eventually sparks 1:13:50 envy. But actually, sometimes... 1:13:52 >> a person should act with humility. It 1:13:56 is not that you are forbidden from 1:13:58 wearing nice clothes, go ahead. But 1:14:00 when... 1:14:02 >> you wear nice, luxurious clothes, and 1:14:05 then look down on others, 1:14:08 >> especially with luxuries that are 1:14:10 unnecessary like that. "Tabzir"( 1:14:12 excessive spending) is forbidden, right 1:14:14 ? Especially in an environment where 1:14:18 many people are in need, like that. 1:14:21 >> Well, this will trigger people, right? 1:14:25 So, it leads to envy and jealousy like 1:14:27 that, jealousy... 1:14:29 >> these things should be avoided, right? 1:14:32 Because of that, Rasulullah sallallahu 1:14:35 alaihi wasallam exemplified a life of 1:14:38 simplicity. Even though, if Rasulullah 1:14:41 had wanted, he was once offered the 1:14:43 mountain of Uhud to be turned into gold 1:14:45 . Rasulullah chose, "No, it is better 1:14:49 for me to eat one day and not the next, 1:14:51 " like that. 1:14:53 >> That does not mean Rasulullah couldn't, 1:14:55 it's not like that. 1:14:57 >> But indeed, Rasulullah taught modesty, 1:15:01 and it doesn't mean we have to live in 1:15:06 poverty. No, Rasulullah said, "The 1:15:10 strong believer is better and more 1:15:12 beloved to Allah than the weak believer 1:15:15 ." A strong believer, meaning strong in 1:15:19 their knowledge, strong in their 1:15:21 economy, and strong in their physical 1:15:23 health. That is more beloved by Allah 1:15:26 Subhanahu wa ta'ala than the weak 1:15:28 believer, right? Weak in their economy, 1:15:30 weak in their knowledge, weak in their 1:15:32 physical health, like that, right? But 1:15:35 don't look down on the weak either, " 1:15:38 wafi kullin khairun." In each of them, 1:15:41 there is goodness, like that. But the 1:15:44 one more beloved is the strong believer 1:15:47 , right? The strong one. Wallahu a'lam 1:15:49 (Allah knows best). Alright Ustaz, we 1:15:52 are limited by time, perhaps before you 1:15:54 leave, could you summarize our theme, 1:15:56 Ustaz? 1:15:56 >> Yes. From what we have read, yes, we 1:16:01 have not finished the story of Prophet 1:16:05 Yusuf, but from the verses we have read 1:16:09 , it shows how Allah Subhanahu wa 1:16:12 ta'ala will help a servant who strives, 1:16:16 who dedicates himself and sincerely 1:16:20 devotes his service to Allah when he 1:16:24 faces disaster or tests; Allah will 1:16:27 help him. Yes, this is just like what 1:16:30 was experienced by the Prophet of Allah 1:16:33 , Yusuf alaihi salam, yes. Wallahu 1:16:35 subhanahu wa ta'ala a'lam. 1:16:38 >> Thank you, Ustaz, for the enlightenment 1:16:39 and the knowledge this evening. And 1:16:42 brothers, thank you for tuning in to 1:16:43 our broadcast this evening. The 1:16:46 reflection on Surah Yusuf earlier was 1:16:48 from verse 21 to verse 29, God willing, 1:16:50 actually verse 24. God willing, we will 1:16:52 continue with the next verses next week 1:16:55 . Hopefully, what the Ustaz shared 1:16:57 today will be of great benefit to 1:16:59 everyone. I, Pahli, who am on duty, 1:17:01 accompanied by an intern, Bang Yusuf 1:17:03 Bangkitur, am signing off. 1:17:05 Subhanakallahumma wabihamdika, ashadu 1:17:07 alla ilaha illa anta, astaghfiruka wa 1:17:09 atubu ilaik.
