1:14 [In the name of Allah,][the Most 1:31 Gracious, the Most Merciful.][All 1:31 praise is due to Allah, Lord of the 1:33 worlds.][O Allah, bestow peace upon our 1:35 master Muhammad and the family of our 1:37 master Muhammad.] Brothers and sisters 1:40 who are blessed by Allah subhanahu wa 1:43 ta'ala, wherever you may be, whether 1:46 you are reaching us via Rasil Visual on 1:50 YouTube or through the Rasil Radio 720 1:53 AM listening room. May the peace, mercy 1:56 , and blessings of Allah be upon you. 1:59 As usual, brothers and sisters, for the 2:02 next 90 minutes every Friday, our 2:05 teacher is here with us, Ustazah Helini 2:08 Amran, who will lead the women's fiqh 2:11 session. I will greet her first. Peace, 2:15 mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon 2:16 you, Ustazah. 2:18 And peace, mercy, and blessings of 2:20 Allah be upon you. 2:22 How are you, Ustazah? 2:25 Alhamdulillah, I am well, Mbak Olin. 2:27 Alhamdulillah. Thanks to your prayers, 2:29 Ustazah, we can meet again. Masha Allah 2:31 . And the theme we will discuss on this 2:36 occasion is that no good deed is in 2:38 vain. Please, Ustazah. 2:41 Yes. In the name of Allah, the Most 2:43 Gracious, the Most Merciful. All praise 2:45 is due to Allah, and may peace and 2:46 blessings be upon the Messenger of 2:47 Allah. There is no power and no 2:49 strength except by Allah. Amen, O Lord 2:58 of the worlds. Hopefully, on this 3:01 Friday, we are among the servants of 3:03 Allah who receive His mercy, 3:05 forgiveness, blessings, and love. And 3:09 may the salawat we send to the Prophet 3:11 sallallahu alaihi wasallam be answered 3:13 by him, and may we be known by him as 3:15 those who send blessings upon him. 3:19 Today we will discuss and talk about 3:23 how no good deed is wasted by Allah. 3:27 That Allah will reward the deeds of 3:31 those who do good. Yes, so nothing is 3:34 wasted, no matter how small our deeds 3:37 are. In the Quran, there are four times 3:40 it is mentioned that the rewards or 3:42 goodness of those who do good are not 3:44 wasted by Allah, for example, [I seek 3:46 refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan 3:48 ][and be patient.] Be patient, for 3:56 indeed Allah does not waste the reward 3:59 of those who do good. Yes. So among 4:02 those, yes Allah does not waste the 4:06 reward of those who believe. It is in 4:08 four places in the Quran. Surah Hud 4:11 verse 115, Surah Ali Imran 171, Surah 4:15 At-Tawbah 120. [Indeed, Allah] the same 4:21 , yes. Or in Surah Al-Kahf verse 30. [ 4:25 Indeed.] So, listeners who are blessed 4:30 by Allah, sometimes in our daily lives, 4:33 the good deeds we do are sometimes not 4:36 appreciated by people. For example, in 4:42 household life, the kindness we show to 4:45 our spouse, after years of serving 4:48 faithfully, it turns out we are repaid 4:51 with actions that hurt our hearts. All 4:55 this time, we were not appreciated and 4:58 many things we received were not in 5:01 line with our wishes. Even though we 5:04 have done good, through our loyalty and 5:07 care. So there is a feeling that it was 5:10 all for nothing. Yes, that's right, 5:12 Mbak Olin. Sometimes when we have done 5:15 good for years, when we receive a 5:18 response that does not match our 5:20 expectations, we immediately say, "It 5:23 was useless to do good all this time, 5:26 this is the reward," right? Or perhaps 5:31 using language that is very painful, 5:35 like "I regret marrying you," and so on 5:38 . If I had known it would be like this, 5:41 I’d rather not have done it. All 5:42 these days, my time, my life wasted 5:44 living with someone who doesn’t 5:46 appreciate me, something like that, 5:48 right? Or regretting having been, uh, 5:51 kind to you, having been loyal, and 5:53 this, only to be repaid like this. Or 5:56 for example, to a child, we say, "I 5:58 regret raising you, it's like raising a 6:01 lion cub." The repayment is like this. 6:03 Not a single, uh, good repayment given 6:06 to the parents. Or for example, being 6:10 kind to anyone, saying, "It's useless 6:13 to be kind to you." This is returning 6:16 kindness with betrayal, right. Or for 6:19 example, there are many words, right, 6:22 when we feel we have done so much good 6:25 for others and it isn't returned as we 6:28 wanted, such remarks come out. I regret 6:32 sending you to school. If I had known, 6:34 I wouldn't have bothered with school, 6:35 right? I regret helping and giving 6:38 assistance, turns out. Well, there it 6:40 is. So, these are the things that, 6:43 actually, if we understand together. No 6:48 matter how small what we do, it will 6:50 never be wasted by Allah. Yes, many 6:54 things actually, if we re-examine the 6:57 values of faith, Allah will reward no 7:00 matter how small our deeds are. Never 7:04 wasted. Yes, maybe some people think 7:07 life is pointless. Eh, why live if 7:09 it’s just like this? Born, uh, small, 7:12 adult, old, just the same. Life is 7:16 useless, why live just to eat, you know 7:18 . So actually, if we understand 7:22 together that Allah never created us in 7:25 vain. Whatever good we do will surely 7:29 be rewarded by Allah. So don't 7:32 underestimate any good, no matter how 7:35 small, whether in daily life or 7:37 especially in household life. The 7:40 reward, Allah will give, it could be 7:42 immediate, paid in cash while living or 7:44 maybe later. The point is that we live 7:47 this life according to the purpose of 7:49 our creation, which is to worship Allah 7:51 . Yes, in ahsantum ahsantum 7:54 li-anfusikum wa in asa'tum falaha. If 7:59 you do good, it is for your own self, 8:01 meaning you are doing good for yourself 8:03 . If you do evil, then the loss of that 8:07 evil is for yourself. Meaning whatever 8:10 we do, no matter how small the good we 8:13 do, it will return to us. Because the 8:17 reward is according to the deeds. 8:19 Al-jaza 'min jinsil' amal. Yes, the 8:22 reward is in accordance with our deeds. 8:25 So the good we do, in essence, actually 8:28 returns to ourselves. The reward 8:31 depends on the type of deeds we perform 8:33 . Every action has its reward, and that 8:36 proportional repayment is according to 8:38 our deeds. Yes, it's called reaping 8:41 what you sow. This is a Sharia 8:42 principle, right. Al-jaza 'min jinsil' 8:44 amal. So there is nothing, nothing of 8:46 our good that is wasted. Even if 8:49 someone, whoever they are, repays it 8:51 poorly, but there is Allah, right. So, 8:55 every action a person takes, whether 8:57 good or bad, no matter how small, will 9:00 surely be rewarded, either in this 9:03 world or in the hereafter. Therefore, 9:07 as servants of Allah and followers of 9:09 Muhammad, peace be upon him, let us 9:11 never underestimate good deeds. Never 9:14 have regrets, and never feel that doing 9:17 anything is a waste of time. Everything 9:20 returns to ourselves. Are we not going 9:22 to stand before Allah eventually, and 9:24 will He not hold us accountable for 9:26 what we have done? Someone else doing 9:28 something bad to us will not have a 9:30 negative impact on us. That is their 9:32 business with Allah. So, when we guard 9:35 our own honor, Allah will protect the 9:37 honor of our families. When we feed 9:41 others, Allah will surely reward us, 9:44 just as when we conceal the faults of 9:46 others. Allah will also conceal our 9:49 faults. This means all the good deeds 9:52 we do, no matter what, will return to 9:55 us. Yes, when we ease a brother's 9:58 worldly distress, Allah will ease our 10:01 own, broaden our lives, and free us 10:03 from difficulties in this world and the 10:06 next. When we help someone through a 10:09 hardship, Allah will also ease our 10:10 lives from difficulties in this world 10:12 and the hereafter. Do not ask for 10:15 rewards from humans. Saying, "I helped 10:19 them all this time, so where is my 10:21 return?" That is ungrateful and shows 10:24 they don't appreciate the favor. If we 10:27 do that, all our efforts are wasted; we 10:29 won't get any reward. If we do good 10:33 because of someone and Allah doesn't 10:35 reward us, we lose out. This is where 10:38 the principle "is there any reward for 10:40 good other than good" applies. Is the 10:42 reward for goodness not goodness itself 10:44 ? So, whoever harms others will 10:47 eventually be harmed themselves. 10:49 Whoever seizes the property of others 10:50 will also have their own seized. 10:52 Whoever commits injustice should 10:53 realize we do not want that to return 10:55 to us. Therefore, let us sow goodness, 10:58 even if it is just a little. Nothing on 11:00 this earth is in vain. Nothing goes 11:04 without a reward. Everything will be 11:07 repaid by Allah. So, let us not— 11:09 heaven forbid—let our every deed be 11:13 tainted by the desire for an immediate 11:16 return. Let the reward come from Allah, 11:18 not from people. If we do good for the 11:21 sake of people, it means we are not 11:22 doing it for the sake of Allah. It 11:25 means we are just looking for a return. 11:28 When we do something sincerely for 11:30 Allah, will we not receive our reward? 11:34 For instance, when we help others, 11:37 perhaps one day Allah will move someone 11:40 else to help us. So, we are not 11:43 demanding a reward for the kindness we 11:45 show to others. When we, for example, 11:49 move a tree branch off the road, one 11:51 day someone else will move a branch so 11:53 that it doesn't cause us harm. The 11:57 moment we help someone, someday Allah 11:59 will replace it with someone who will 12:01 help us. But we do good deeds not for 12:03 people; we do them for the sake of 12:04 Allah. Yes, there are many cases where 12:07 when we help people do good, Someday we 12:09 will be facilitated by Allah. Now, this 12:12 is, uh, "man jaa bil hasanati falahu ' 12:15 ashru amsaliha." Whoever brings a good 12:18 deed will be rewarded by Allah later. 12:21 So in essence, never underestimate or 12:24 waste it. Do not underestimate or waste 12:27 even the smallest good deed, because 12:29 later Allah will reward us. Later, 12:32 Allah will, uh, provide us with help, 12:34 not because we expect a reward from 12:36 humans. So, the reward for a good deed 12:39 does not always come from the person we 12:41 helped. Actually, we do it for Allah, 12:43 and later Allah will reward it in other 12:45 ways. From any direction, from anyone. 12:49 Yes, there are many cases, for example, 12:52 Miss, when we find a wallet on the 12:54 street and try to find the owner, when 12:56 we meet them, they are grateful, " 12:58 alhamdulillah," and we don't ask for a 13:00 reward because we do it for Allah. 13:03 Someday it will happen again when, uh, 13:05 we, what do you call it, lose something 13:08 , later there will be help again. So 13:10 Allah will reward the good we have done 13:13 . Therefore, do good with a generous 13:17 and sincere heart. This is all, uh, 13:20 actually advice for me, Miss. Because 13:23 indeed, these good deeds are not only 13:25 for others but also for the one who 13:27 conveys them. Because how much 13:30 knowledge we gain and hear, but it is 13:32 very difficult; we are only able to 13:34 practice a little. Hopefully, by 13:36 conveying this, it will be useful for 13:39 me, my family, and everyone. So, we do 13:43 good, yes, do good from any direction, 13:46 anything. As small as it may be, we 13:49 will do it. Whoever does a good deed 13:59 the size of an atom, Allah will reward 14:02 that atom. Whoever commits a sin will 14:05 also be rewarded for it later. An atom 14:08 is actually, uh, a thing, the smallest 14:11 part. So in physics, it is called an 14:15 atom, right. So Allah emphasizes that 14:18 not a single human action, even as 14:21 small as an atom, escapes Allah's 14:23 supervision. Good deeds will definitely 14:26 be rewarded. Now, I want to, uh, tell 14:30 you, Miss, there is a story shared by 14:33 Dr. Umar Abdul Kahfi, and the story is 14:37 a true story. About how the good deeds 14:41 were performed. Indeed, if a good deed 14:43 is small, it might not be felt, but 14:44 there are some good deeds that are 14:46 truly extraordinary. Patience is very 14:48 important. So the story goes like this, 14:52 Miss: there was an old father who had 14:56 four children. His wife had passed away 14:59 . So the father was old, and his wife 15:01 had passed away. It's sad and difficult 15:03 , isn't it? Now, these Arab people 15:06 usually come to propose, right. So, a 15:09 young man proposed to his daughter, and 15:11 the father said, "Let the oldest one go 15:13 first." That's how it usually goes, 15:14 right? If you're marrying off your 15:16 children, and all four of them are 15:19 girls. 15:20 Better to have the oldest one 15:21 get married first. Uh, then the eldest 15:26 daughter refused. She didn't want to, 15:29 uh, she wasn't ready to get married yet 15:30 . Let her younger sisters go first. 15:32 Because she wanted to care for and keep 15:34 her father company. Because her father 15:36 didn't have her mother anymore. Who 15:38 would? When a wife gets married, she 15:40 follows her husband, right? What if her 15:43 husband, uh, moves out of town, or what 15:45 if he takes her away, what then? So, 15:47 the eldest refused to marry, letting 15:49 her younger sisters go ahead. She lived 15:52 with her father, cared for him, was 15:54 devoted, and basically looked after him 15:56 until he passed away. Her father passed 16:00 away. Then, uh, after he died, there 16:03 was a will from her father. The will 16:07 stated, "Distribute my inheritance 16:08 except for this house, the house 16:10 occupied by me and my daughter. Wait 16:13 until your sister marries because she 16:16 has sacrificed her life to care for me, 16:19 " like that. Yes, that was the will. 16:22 Then her three younger siblings refused 16:24 , "Ugh, this is an inheritance, we 16:25 don't care about that.""We want to get, 16:28 uh, our share of the inheritance, so, 16:30 uh, let's just sell the house.""Later, 16:32 from the proceeds of the house sale, 16:34 our sister can just buy another house," 16:36 like that. They wanted to take their 16:38 share, her younger siblings did. 16:39 Finally, it was sold. They found a 16:41 buyer, and it was sold. So, in the end, 16:43 the eldest sister couldn't, uh, avoid 16:46 this situation because the house was 16:48 already sold by her siblings and had a 16:50 buyer. Finally, the sister went to see 16:52 the person who bought the house. And 16:55 she told them about her father's will, 16:57 that she didn't have, uh, anything else 16:58 besides that house. She couldn't yet 17:01 afford a house from, uh, what, the sale 17:03 of the house. She begged the buyer, " 17:07 Please, could I stay in, uh, this house 17:09 for a while until I find another place? 17:12 ""Now, that person agreed, saying it's 17:15 fine.""Yes, it's okay to stay here for 17:17 a while." Now, this older sister was a 17:20 righteous Muslim woman who was obedient 17:23 to Allah, who believed that Allah would 17:27 not waste what she had done. She had 17:29 sacrificed her time to be devoted and 17:32 keep her father company. And she lived 17:34 her whole life in service of birrul 17:36 walidain. Now, after months, it was 17:40 hard to find a house that matched the, 17:42 uh, inheritance share price. Uh, after 17:47 several months, the sister received a 17:48 call from the house buyer. She was 17:51 scared, "Oh no, what if they want to 17:53 take this house now?""Oh my, what 17:54 should I do?""Because it had been too 17:56 long without being contacted." Finally, 17:59 she said, "Could I please ask for more 18:01 time so I can buy a house, as I haven't 18:04 found one yet?""Please, don't kick me 18:07 out of this house," she said. Then that 18:10 man came, he arrived at the house, and 18:13 he said—well, the older sister 18:15 apologized for not yet finding the 18:17 right place. But it turned out the man 18:21 said, "Never mind, I didn't come for 18:23 that.""I came to give you the 18:26 certificate from the court.""I am 18:29 giving this house to you as a dowry." 18:31 MashaAllah. MashaAllah. " 18:33 If you want to accept my proposal, then 18:35 this house is the dowry.""If you refuse 18:38 and don't want to accept my proposal, 18:40 that's okay too.""This house is already 18:42 given, it is already yours." MashaAllah 18:46 . So the older sister cried. MashaAllah 18:49 , oh God. She felt that Allah does not 18:51 waste the prayers and deeds of those 18:53 who do good and are sincere to Him. 18:55 MashaAllah. Look at this. So here, the 18:58 older sister—how she cared for her 19:02 father for years, she was sincere and 19:06 prioritized her younger siblings. But 19:10 Allah rewarded her with something 19:12 extraordinary. She lives with her 19:14 husband, a wealthy and generous 19:17 merchant. Living in perfect happiness. 19:21 Allah rewarded everything she had done 19:23 right here in this world. MashaAllah, 19:26 with a generous husband, and in her 19:27 father's house, too. MashaAllah. Now, 19:30 this is the goodness that we do. Allah 19:34 will certainly not waste us. Whatever 19:38 our efforts, our work, our devotion, 19:40 our kindness, our piety, our patience 19:42 toward our family or anyone else, God 19:44 willing, Allah will surely reward it. 19:48 Allah will never waste what we have 19:51 done. That kindness will never be lost. 19:54 And Allah is the Ever-Living. Allah 19:56 knows who oppresses us, who hurts our 19:58 hearts, who treats us poorly; just 20:00 leave it to Allah. Do not retaliate. It 20:03 means we must be patient with whatever 20:05 Allah has given. This is just a test. 20:07 Allah will surely not waste our deeds. 20:11 Yes. So this is extraordinary. Patience 20:16 in carrying out good deeds, Allah will 20:19 certainly not waste our efforts. He 20:22 will definitely reward them, no matter 20:25 how small the good we do, especially 20:27 towards our spouse. To be able to be 20:30 patient for years with a life partner 20:33 who might be quite oppressive. When we 20:37 do whatever is our duty for the sake of 20:40 Allah, God willing, it will certainly 20:42 bear fruit with many extraordinary 20:44 blessings, even in this world. So, this 20:48 is it, Miss. How this worldly life— 20:52 everything Allah did not create in vain 20:54 . Humans were created by Allah not 20:57 without purpose. Because we are in this 20:59 world only to worship Allah. We are 21:02 living out our best destinies. So we 21:05 strive to do any good, no matter how 21:08 small. And we hope that Allah does not 21:12 erase the reward of our deeds because 21:14 of our impatience. Yes, we will 21:17 continue later, Miss. Yes. Alright. 21:20 MashaAllah, I am still moved by the 21:22 story shared by the Ustazah earlier. 21:26 How the reward for the kindness 21:28 performed by a righteous servant is 21:30 paid instantly. And this is also birrul 21:33 walidain, truly Allah's promise. Um, a 21:34 reward that is instantly given by Allah 21:37 , whether it be good or bad, is 21:39 fulfilling one's duty to parents. That 21:41 is correct, Ustazah. MashaAllah. 21:43 Alright, brothers and sisters. We 21:46 invite brothers and sisters to submit 21:47 their questions according to the theme 21:49 presented by the Ustazah, which is that 21:51 no good deed is in vain. As usual, at 21:54 WhatsApp number 0811999720. God willing 22:01 , we will return after the following 22:02 nasyid break. This Brail TV. Radio 24:57 Silaturahim, and visual audiences are 24:59 currently listening to women's 25:01 jurisprudence with Ustazah Herlini 25:02 Amran on the theme: no good deed is in 25:04 vain. Please, Ustazah, continue your 25:08 explanation. 25:09 Yes. Alright. Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. 25:12 No good deed is in vain. But that 25:16 kindness will become in vain if the 25:19 good we do violates certain things. For 25:23 example, firstly, as mentioned, there 25:25 is no goodness that Allah wastes. We 25:28 are certain of that, God willing. Yes. 25:30 But our small deeds, let alone the big 25:34 ones, will be nullified or erased if, 25:38 first, they are not sincere, not 25:41 accepted with grace, and not in line 25:45 with our expectations. Then we bring 25:48 them up, saying it was all for nothing. 25:53 Like the older sibling earlier, when 25:56 the younger sibling demanded the house 25:59 be sold, they could have said, "I have 26:02 taken care of Father, I spent my time 26:05 caring for Father, you..." if they kept 26:08 bringing it up like that. But that is 26:12 not what they did; they said, "Never 26:14 mind," they acted not for their 26:16 siblings, but for Allah. And Allah paid 26:18 them back in cash. So, if we do a good 26:22 deed and then do not receive a reward 26:25 from that person, it means we did the 26:28 good deed not for Allah, but to seek a 26:30 return. We are not pleased if the good 26:35 we do is not reciprocated, or not in 26:37 accordance with our desires, so we 26:38 bring it up. That is why bringing up 26:41 one's deeds means there is no sincerity 26:42 . If there is no sincerity, everything 26:44 is gone. It is the same with parents, 26:47 for example, when seeing their child 26:50 being disobedient or arguing. Then the 26:53 parent says, "It was useless for me to 26:55 have a child.""It turns out you are not 26:58 dutiful.""You are ungrateful for all 27:00 the time I spent caring for you." Ah, 27:03 like that. Taking care of them is our 27:05 obligation. Why bring it up as well? Or 27:08 for example, "Father has been working 27:10 all this time for you, for your life."" 27:12 Now this is how you repay me." Wow, 27:15 mashaAllah, that means asking for 27:16 repayment from the child. Right? There 27:19 is a reason why the child is like that; 27:21 for example, it could be the parenting 27:23 style. Well, parents want to ask for a 27:25 return in that way, don't they? I'm 27:28 worried that the parents' kindness will 27:30 then be wasted. But isn't it true that 27:33 children should be good to their 27:34 parents? That's correct. That's correct 27:36 . 27:36 But it's not by constantly bringing it 27:38 up, right? Sometimes there are parents 27:41 who treat their children as an 27:43 investment—well, not for the 27:45 hereafter, but an worldly investment. 27:48 You've been put through school to a 27:50 high level. Now that you have an income 27:53 , it's time for you to pay it back. Yes 27:56 , something like that. So, this is all 27:58 about the intention. If that's the case 28:02 , the kindness we've shown will be in 28:04 vain. For instance, with husbands and 28:07 wives, it's often like that. "I haven't 28:11 worked all this time because I've been 28:13 serving my husband and children.""It 28:15 turns out my husband doesn't see my 28:18 sacrifices.""He cheated on me with 28:20 someone else, so it was all for nothing 28:21 ." Ah, it’s all gone like that. 28:24 If we do it all for Allah—we don't 28:26 work because we focus on our children, 28:28 our household, caring for our husband, 28:30 and guiding our kids. Then, if the 28:33 husband's response is like that, that 28:34 is his business with Allah. Don't let 28:37 us be hurt and then not get the reward 28:39 either. That would be a waste, wouldn't 28:41 it? It's a loss upon a loss. So it is 28:44 indeed hard to be sincere. Therefore, 28:46 we just do it and leave everything to 28:48 Allah. We act, but not because of 28:50 people. We were created by Allah to 28:52 worship Him. While we are in this world 28:55 , we gather as much provision as 28:57 possible, our righteous deeds. If we do 29:00 good and people don't want to repay it 29:02 according to what we've sacrificed, 29:04 that is their business with Allah. The 29:06 important thing is that Allah accepts 29:07 our deeds. Because we will get whatever 29:10 we have done, whatever we have 29:12 performed. We are the ones who will 29:16 reap it. It was explained earlier how " 29:20 al-jaza"—the reward—is in 29:22 accordance with the type of deed. Now, 29:25 if we are not sincere, not accepting, 29:26 it's a loss, a loss, a loss. Our hearts 29:29 are tired, and the deeds are in vain. 29:31 Ah, subhanallah, what a loss. Yes, so 29:34 training patience and sincerity does 29:37 indeed require knowledge. Then, what 29:40 causes deeds to be void and erased is 29:44 anger. Being angry and emotional. 29:49 Because a bad temper is an emotion. 29:51 That is a negative attitude that we 29:52 must avoid, right? Because it can 29:55 nullify the righteous deeds we have 29:57 done. Yes, why is that? Because from 30:01 anger, words will come out that are far 30:04 from being commendable, right? It leads 30:08 to bringing up past deeds, cursing at 30:10 people, and hurting feelings; that all 30:12 comes from anger. That is why: "La 30:15 taghdab walakal jannah." Do not get 30:17 angry, and paradise is yours. Because 30:19 from that anger, everything gets 30:21 brought up, right? The tongue won't 30:23 stay silent because of emotions, and in 30:26 the end, everyone feels offended. And 30:28 then there is complaining and being 30:31 impatient, right? These are the things 30:35 that cause our acts of worship to be 30:37 void, and the good we've done becomes 30:40 in vain. Don't worry, hopefully all our 30:44 sacrifices will bear fruit in goodness. 30:47 Allah will reward us directly in this 30:49 world and also in the hereafter. Now, 30:51 lastly, there's a true story. So, this 30:56 was told by a Sheikh during an online 31:00 lecture on television. Then a woman 31:05 asked while crying. "I have five 31:07 children.""My husband is a drinker, he 31:11 comes home late." Basically, she 31:14 complained about her husband and her 31:15 five children. "I want a divorce," she 31:18 said. "I can't bear living with this 31:20 husband anymore." Then the Sheikh asked 31:22 , "Do you have any family nearby?""My 31:24 family lives far away." It means she 31:27 wanted a divorce but had nowhere to go. 31:30 Nowhere for herself to turn. Then the 31:33 Sheikh said, "Just be patient.""If you 31:35 divorce, those five children will 31:37 become victims, and there will be more 31:40 drinkers.""The children will follow 31:42 their father's example, so try to be 31:44 patient for the sake of Allah and 31:45 educate them so they aren't influenced 31:47 by him.""Just fulfill your duties as a 31:50 wife toward your husband.""Then keep 31:53 praying for him." Well, not long after, 31:55 when the Sheikh was online on 31:57 television again, she called back, "Do 31:59 you remember me, Sheikh? I'm the one 32:03 who confided in you," and the Sheikh 32:05 remembered her voice. "Yes, what 32:07 happened?""Alhamdulillah, now my 32:08 husband is a mosque caretaker.""Meaning 32:11 he is part of the"" 32:12 Mosque management.""He is active in the 32:14 mosque and takes the children with him. 32:16 " So, this is the fruit of a wife's 32:19 sincerity and patience. She didn't 32:22 worry about her husband's business, she 32:24 just kept praying and protecting her 32:26 children. The fruits of patience take a 32:29 long time to manifest. And now her 32:32 husband has changed—you know, there 32:34 are many cases in households where a 32:35 wife's patience in dealing with her 32:37 husband and children leads to a 32:38 complete turnaround. How many husbands 32:42 are brought to their senses by their 32:44 wives, or vice versa? That's it, Allah 32:48 will never let any good deed go to 32:50 waste, no matter how small. The 32:52 important thing is we act for the sake 32:54 of Allah, we do good for the sake of 32:55 Allah. We do things for Allah, not for 32:58 people. And we don't expect rewards 33:00 from people; Allah is the one who 33:02 provides direct, immediate rewards for 33:05 what we do. That's how it is. Right. 33:08 Mashallah. Since you have finished your 33:10 explanation, Ustazah, I would like to 33:12 proceed directly to the Q&A session. 33:15 This is from Sukabumi, Ustazah, Mr. 33:17 Muhammad Idris. Assalamu'alaikum 33:20 warahmatullahi wabarakatuh, Ustazah. 33:23 Wa'alaikumussalam warahmatullahi 33:25 wabarakatuh. 33:27 The word 'good' has a positive meaning 33:29 and automatically falls into the 33:31 category of things that will not be in 33:33 vain. However, many people act kindly 33:37 but are interpreted as having ulterior 33:39 motives, which makes it fall into a 33:42 negative category. For example, right 33:46 now, Ustazah, as we approach 2024, many 33:48 people are showing kindness but with 33:50 other intentions. So, Ustazah, how do 33:54 people like this fall into the category 33:56 of hypocrites or liars? 34:00 Yes. First of all, Mr. Inamalat. 34:05 Yes. Deeds depend on intentions. We 34:08 cannot guess, predict, or assume a 34:11 person's intentions because that is a 34:15 matter between them and Allah. Meaning, 34:19 as spectators or outsiders, we cannot 34:22 accuse that person, nor can we judge 34:27 them. "They're just seeking attention." 34:29 "Oh, they just want to be elected, 34:30 that's why they're spreading stuff like 34:32 that." That is between them and Allah. 34:34 Yes. It means we, as servants of Allah, 34:37 have no authority to claim, judge, or 34:40 decide that someone is insincere. 34:43 Because we don't know the human heart; 34:45 who knows, they might be giving 34:47 sincerely for the sake of Allah. Only 34:49 Allah knows, we don't know. So, for us 34:52 as spectators or outsiders. But for the 34:57 person involved, for example, those 35:00 involved in this year's 2024 elections, 35:05 ask yourself, what is your intention? 35:09 If the intention is to gain votes or to 35:12 be elected, it will surely be in vain. 35:15 There is no reward from Allah. Yes, if 35:17 they are elected. If not, they've lost 35:19 twice, right? So, managing intentions 35:23 requires skill because there are people 35:26 who intend to be elected. For example, 35:31 in 2024, they intend to improve the 35:33 state of our nation. So, by being in 35:37 government, they want to contribute. To 35:41 get elected, they will strive to 35:42 fulfill the trust given to them. There 35:45 are people like that, aren't there, 35:46 Ma'am? 35:46 Yes. 35:47 We don't really know, do we? So, once 35:50 again, whether that person is a 35:52 hypocrite or not, I can only say* 35:53 wallahu a'lam*, only Allah knows. 35:57 Alright, Mr. Muhammad Edi. I will turn 36:01 to Ibu Retno SW in Subang. Peace be 36:04 upon you, Ustazah. 36:07 And peace be upon you too. 36:10 In Islam, is there a limit to patience, 36:13 or is there none at all? Thank you. The 36:17 limit of patience is "Innalillah."" 36:22 Indeed we belong to Allah and indeed to 36:24 Him we will return." 36:27 Because those who are patient are, * 36:29 Masya Allah*, people who receive 36:32 blessings. Because patience is rewarded 36:38 without measure. 36:41 Yes. So, for a patient person. If, what 36:43 do you call it? It is mentioned that 36:47 there are two great rewards that cannot 36:49 be compared to any other. First, the 36:52 reward for those who fast, Ma'am. " 36:56 Fasting is for Me, and I Myself will 37:00 reward it." It is so great, meant to be 37:05 a surprise, just how immense the reward 37:08 is. Allah says, "I will give the reward 37:12 ," which shows how great and surprising 37:15 it is. 37:16 Second, patience: "rewarded without 37:20 measure." Those who are patient are 37:22 rewarded without account. It cannot be; 37:25 it is simply without measure. Patience 37:27 is just extraordinary. So, while 37:29 society says patience has a limit, that 37:33 is how it is. Patience has no limits. 37:37 Unless we are speaking about those who 37:40 mock religion. Here, we are talking 37:42 about patience regarding how our 37:44 brothers treat us. Their cruelty, their 37:47 backbiting—whatever it is, we must 37:49 indeed be patient. Patience lasts until 37:52 we die, until Allah eventually rewards 37:55 us. Patience exists within obedience, 37:59 and patience exists when we are tempted 38:02 to commit sins. How do we keep from 38:05 falling into sin? It requires patience. 38:07 Yes. Patience in obedience. Be patient. 38:10 It requires obedience. If we want to 38:11 perform Qiyamulail, we must be patient, 38:14 right? Even for our obligatory prayers, 38:15 we must be patient. "Oh Allah, it’s 38:17 so hot, I want to break my fast," but 38:20 we must be patient. Even when fasting, 38:23 we must patiently restrain ourselves so 38:25 it doesn't break. So patience truly 38:29 lasts until death; especially for those 38:32 who forgive, even if society says 38:35 patience has a limit. No, patience has 38:39 no limit. Patience is limitless. So, I 38:44 hope this patience will bear fruit, God 38:47 willing. 38:49 Yes, ma'am. 38:49 Alright. So there is no limit, then? 38:53 The limit is death itself. Alright. 38:55 Moving from Mrs. Retno, I'll turn to 38:57 Mrs. Mufidah in Depok. Peace be upon 39:00 you, Ustazah. 39:02 And peace be upon you too. 39:05 Can we know someone's intention when 39:09 they do good? Is it done for a reason, 39:13 or is it truly sincere? Can we judge 39:15 that, Ustazah? 39:17 Only Allah can judge that. Hm. 39:21 Even the angels, according to a 39:23 narration, when they bring a servant's 39:26 deeds, they see so many. Their prayers, 39:30 fasting, and zakat are abundant. The 39:33 angels even magnify them. "Wow, that's 39:36 great, such abundant deeds." But before 39:38 Allah, it becomes like scattered dust. 39:42 It holds no value at all. Then, there 39:46 are angels who bring only a few deeds. 39:48 Initially, the angels think they are 39:49 small. But before Allah, the intention 39:52 behind them is incredibly great. So, 39:54 only Allah knows. The angels only 39:57 record them. So where do we stand 39:59 compared to the angels? We simply don't 40:01 know, like other people. 40:02 Yes. However, there is the "intuition 40:05 of a believer." But which believer? We 40:08 are not able to do it. So, don't just 40:11 ...what do you call it? We cannot judge 40:14 people's intentions. We don't know 40:16 their intentions; it could be anything. 40:17 But being vigilant is important. For 40:19 example, there's a difference between 40:22 vigilance, suspicion, and positive 40:23 thinking. For instance, we shouldn't be 40:28 suspicious of others, but if someone 40:30 keeps walking past our house at night 40:32 ......are we supposed to be suspicious? 40:36 Vigilance is allowed, but don't just 40:37 say, "Hey, you're a thief," it's not 40:39 like that. So, it's about being 40:41 vigilant and cautious. So we, uh, 40:44 shouldn't judge people's intentions, 40:47 but we can, uh, be vigilant, yes, 40:50 vigilant, but not suspicious. How does 40:54 that work? It's a fine line, isn't it, 40:55 Miss? 40:55 Just a fine line. 40:57 A very fine line. So, for example, 41:00 between showing off and, uh, tahajud 41:02 prayer. 41:04 Ah, that's a fine line. That’s why we 41:06 should look back at ourselves. So, we 41:09 shouldn't be suspicious of others, but 41:11 we can, uh, be vigilant. For instance, 41:14 someone is giving out groceries; we 41:15 might think, "Oh, look at this." Oh, we 41:17 shouldn't immediately think, "They're 41:19 just seeking attention." Sometimes, 41:20 they might not be sincere, or they want 41:22 something else, like that. We shouldn't 41:23 accuse people like that. But if we are 41:25 given something, just accept it and say 41:27 alhamdulillah. It's a blessing, so the 41:29 choice is ours, right? 41:32 There you go, Miss. 41:33 So we don't know people's hearts. 41:35 Right. Yes. All right. Let's just stay 41:37 positive; that’s the rule. We move to 41:40 Bukittinggi. Ustazah, Mr. MZH. I would 41:44 like to ask, Ustazah, why is it that in 41:46 the Qur'an, it is always emphasized to 41:47 do good to one's parents? Meanwhile, 41:50 are there any verses that explain doing 41:52 good to children, even in the event of 41:55 a divorce? Because when a child follows 41:58 one parent, and the mother divorces, 42:00 the father often washes his hands of 42:03 the children because there is a new 42:05 father figure. 42:08 Uh, so it's like this, indeed in the 42:12 Qur'an there is always, uh, what? 42:16 Kindness to parents because we know 42:17 that a child exists because of the 42:19 parents. 42:21 And especially the mother, right? With 42:23 the, uh, what do you call it? That, yes 42:26 , that. Yes, do good to your parents. 42:31 Indeed, parents have given so much, uh, 42:34 help, assistance, or perhaps their 42:37 service to their children from being 42:40 weak until they are grown or born. Yes, 42:44 that is a contribution that cannot be 42:46 compared to anything else. The mother's 42:49 pregnancy or the father providing, or 42:51 what have you. The child is born. Uh, 42:53 when a child is not reminded in the 42:55 Qur'an, the child forgets. 42:59 They have no memory of how their 43:01 parents once cared for them or raised 43:02 them. So, Allah commands children so 43:07 they are reminded by Allah to be 43:09 devoted to their parents. Now, it's not 43:12 that, uh, people, especially parents, 43:14 shouldn't be good to their children. 43:16 Now, as mentioned earlier, if they 43:18 divorce and the father washes his hands 43:21 , that's between the father and Allah. 43:23 Hmm. 43:24 When he releases his responsibilities, 43:26 is not responsible, and neglects his 43:28 children, there will definitely be 43:30 consequences, there will be 43:31 accountability. Meanwhile, the child 43:34 cannot simply absolve themselves. " 43:37 Father never did good, why should I be 43:39 devoted to him?" This is a command from 43:41 the Qur'an, right? So we are only 43:43 judged, responsible for what we do 43:46 ourselves. Allah commands the child to 43:49 be devoted to the parents, so it's 43:50 definitive. "I was once treated like 43:53 this," that is his business with Allah. 43:55 But as children, we want that when you 43:57 are devoted to your parents, your 43:59 children will be devoted to you in 44:01 return. We want our children to be 44:03 devoted to us, don't we? Surely we want 44:04 the same. So once again, devotion to 44:07 parents indeed requires God's 44:09 intervention to remind the child. 44:13 Because children forget, they don't 44:15 know the past times in the womb, or 44:16 that their father was involved and 44:18 responsible. But when that happens, 44:20 they are already grown up, right? So 44:23 this is why it is the child's duty to 44:27 be devoted to their parents. As for 44:32 parents who do not fulfill their 44:33 obligations or are not responsible for 44:36 their children, that is their business 44:38 with God. 44:40 Right, Ms.? 44:41 Yes. Alright. Uh, Ustazah, there is 44:43 Mrs. Suratmi here who is greeting you. 44:46 Masyaallah tabarakallah. Nice to meet 44:48 you, Ustazah. I am Mrs. Suratmi from 44:51 Kalisari Kenang 1, and I often share 44:54 your lectures. Excuse me, Ustazah. She 44:57 says it's nice to meet you. Thank you, 44:59 Ma'am. How are you? Are you healthy, 45:01 Ma'am? 45:01 Alhamdulillah. 45:02 Alhamdulillah. 45:03 Okay. Alright. Ustazah, and all 45:05 brothers and sisters. It seems that due 45:07 to certain reasons, we must excuse 45:09 ourselves and sign off a bit earlier. I 45:12 hope this does not diminish our respect 45:14 . However, before we truly close, 45:16 perhaps we can have our conclusion for 45:18 today. 45:19 Yes, listeners who are blessed by God, 45:23 may God give us His guidance to always 45:26 do good deeds. Innahu Inna hu qiallah. 45:35 Indeed, for those who are pious and 45:37 patient, God will not let the reward of 45:39 those who do good go to waste. May God 45:43 facilitate the good deeds we perform, 45:45 and may we only expect rewards from God 45:47 so that our lives are blessed, made 45:50 easy by Him, and that we may gather 45:52 together in His paradise. Amin ya 45:55 rabbal alamin. Asalamualaikum 45:57 warahmatullah wabarakatuh. 46:00 Waalaikumsalam warahmatullahi 46:02 wabarakatuh. Jazakillah khairan 46:05 katsiran. We pray for the Rasil crew on 46:08 duty today, and especially for your 46:10 health, Ustazah. May God always protect 46:14 you so that we will be given the chance 46:16 to meet again and seek knowledge 46:18 through you, Ustazah, on another day. I 46:21 am Karolin, accompanied by Ondi and 46:23 Anis. Please forgive any shortcomings, 46:27 and hopefully, God will give us another 46:30 opportunity to learn from you, Ustazah. 46:34 Subhanakallahumma wabihamdika asyhadu 46:36 alla ila anta astaghfiruka wa atubu 46:39 ilaik. Wabillahi taufik wal hidayah. 46:41 Wasalamualaikum warahmatullahi 46:44 wabarakatuh.
