Every 2:49 soul will taste death, and We test you 2:51 with evil and with good as trial; and 2:53 to Us you will be returned. Allah the 2:58 Almighty has spoken the truth. Alhamdulillah, let us 3:06 express our gratitude to Allah 3:09 subhanahu wa taala for all the 3:12 blessings He has bestowed upon us, 3:15 which are infinite and cannot be 3:18 counted by any measure. It turns out they all 4:21 belong to Allah. This means what we 4:26 have, what we wear, and what we possess 4:29 are trusts from Allah subhanahu wa 4:31 taala. And it simultaneously reminds us 4:36 that in essence, none of us possesses 4:40 anything that we deserve to boast about 4:43 , let alone be arrogant about. In this 4:49 way, it will better encourage that 4:52 self-awareness to reposition ourselves 4:55 as servants before the Creator. We are 5:00 reminded that Allah is the Creator, the 5:02 *Khaliq*, who provides everything for 5:04 us. While we are servants, the subjects 5:08 of Allah, who should naturally say* 5:10 sami'na wa ata'na*(we hear and we obey) 5:12 . When the decree and command arrive, 5:17 we humbly say "I hear and I obey" and 5:20 are ready to carry them out. Because 5:23 the decrees and commands given by Allah 5:26 are not for Allah's sake, but for our 5:29 own. For our salvation, our well-being, 5:32 and the goodness of us all. Every living soul will 6:47 surely taste death. This is both a 6:50 notification and a decree from Allah 6:52 that life will end in death. Life 6:55 begins with birth and will end with 6:58 death. A span of about 60 to 70 years, 7:03 yes. And this warning is so we realize 7:08 that we are not in this world forever. 7:14 Time keeps moving, as if we are in a 7:17 race against time. Then, what is the 7:22 essence of life? Now, who among us can 7:25 pass the test? Because Allah states, " 7:29 wablukum bisyarri wal khair fitnah." We 7:31 will test you with evil and with good 7:34 as a trial. The evil and the good that 7:39 we encounter every moment in life serve 7:42 as a test. "Wailaina turjaun," and to 7:47 Us you will eventually be returned. 7:52 From this verse, we gain an 7:55 understanding that what we face and 7:59 encounter in this world is merely a 8:03 test of quality. We have long had the 8:11 understanding and perception that a 8:14 test is only when things are difficult 8:17 or when one is poor. A test is when one 8:21 is sick or meets with a calamity. "Oh, 8:23 poor thing, they are being tested." Yes 8:26 . 8:27 Getting into an accident, having a 8:29 disaster, a business not turning a 8:30 profit, and so on. "Wow, they are being 8:33 tested." True. But it turns out that 8:37 tests are not just those of a negative 8:39 nature, such as sadness, illness, 8:41 misfortune, or disaster. It is not just 8:44 that. It turns out that both good and 8:46 bad, abundance and scarcity, are tests. 8:52 And usually, a test is something that 8:56 almost none of us like. We want to be 9:01 rich, but live in poverty. Are we happy 9:03 with that? Of course, we don't like it. 9:07 We want to be healthy all the time. But 9:08 Allah tests us by bringing illness. Who 9:12 is happy with being sick? We want to be 9:15 successful, but......we struggle to 9:19 achieve the success exactly as we 9:21 desire. So, tests always come and 9:25 contrast with our desires and our base 9:28 appetites. Sometimes we even measure 9:32 our fate with our own logic and 9:33 thoughts. As if Allah were unfair. As 9:37 if life must follow our own rules. as 9:41 if what we want is the best thing that 9:43 must happen. Now, this is what becomes 9:45 a problem in this life. And when people 9:51 get tested with hardship, sadness, or 9:54 bad things, they truly feel that they 9:59 are being tested. And a lot of sympathy 10:03 comes, friends come, "Bro, be patient, 10:06 you're being tested." Another friend 10:10 comes, another person comes. "Bro, be 10:12 patient, be patient." Poor people, let 10:16 alone if they are patient, they are 10:18 used to facing problems, they know, and 10:21 it's right that they really must be 10:24 patient. But the worse part is if they 10:31 are tested with goodness. What is that 10:34 goodness? Becoming a rich person, 10:37 becoming a successful person, what kind 10:42 of desire? Achieving the position of an 10:47 official, being a respected person— 10:49 they don't feel that it's a test. And 10:52 the bad luck is that no one comes and 10:55 says, "Bro, you have a lot of money now 10:57 . Be patient, bro." It doesn't happen. 11:01 "Are you crazy? I'm a rich man and 11:02 you're telling me to be patient?" Even 11:05 though that sentence is true, rich 11:07 people are also being tested. Poor 11:10 people are obviously tested with their 11:13 poverty, struggling, desires 11:15 unfulfilled, living in shortage. It's 11:18 clear they must be patient. But for a 11:22 rich person, where is the patience? 11:24 Actually, it's even harder to be a rich 11:26 person. Rich people have a lot of money 11:30 . Whatever they want can easily be 11:35 fulfilled. It is precisely patience to 11:38 control desires when one has a lot of 11:41 money. Someone who can buy anything. 11:45 They can control, can manage, can 11:47 regulate. That is not easy. Just 11:54 entering a mall with a lot of money. 11:56 Whew. They want to buy everything. 11:59 Especially for women, mothers, who have 12:02 a lot of money 12:04 entering a mall. Ah, that's it. It's 12:08 not easy to control the desire not to 12:11 buy things that aren't actually urgent 12:15 to own. It's not easy. That's why the 12:21 happiest thing for mothers, for women, 12:22 is usually to be invited to shop. 12:26 That's the most enjoyable thing. They hold 13:00 the item, see the price tag is 13:01 expensive, and decide not to buy it— 13:03 it's easy. That 13:06 it is easier for poor people to face 13:08 problems and restrain unnecessary 13:11 desires. If a rich person has a lot of 13:13 money, they can do anything. 13:15 Yeah. And usually, if a man is single, 13:19 let alone a bachelor, or basically any 13:21 man with a lot of money, a successful 13:24 person. Wow, my goodness, the flattery 13:28 —women, all sorts of women, come 13:32 around. With just a snap of the fingers 13:36 , those women come and stick to him 13:38 like postage stamps. Now, that's not 13:41 easy to not commit sins. Where to 13:45 travel, what to eat, what to do—that 13:48 is much harder. Tests always come in 13:52 contrast to our tastes and desires. 13:59 From this verse, we are reminded: do 14:01 not be self-absorbed; no matter how 14:04 great you are, remember that life is 14:06 limited and restricted. Restricted by 14:11 time, restricted by ability, restricted 14:14 by everything. So the demands of 14:18 liberal groups who seek absolute 14:20 freedom will never be realized; a life 14:23 of total freedom does not exist. We are 14:27 restricted by limitations. So remember: 14:33 use this lifetime as an opportunity for 14:37 something beneficial. That is the 14:41 guidance of religion, sent by Allah so 14:43 we do not live recklessly, so we do not 14:46 live as we please. There are rules we 14:51 can follow well, creating goodness and 14:54 welfare in life. Especially regarding 14:57 how we interact with fellow human 14:59 beings. How to create a life that is 15:04 harmonious, balanced, and fosters 15:06 prosperity, without hurting or 15:11 disturbing others, while respecting one 15:14 another. That is indeed the task for 15:17 which humans were created. We are even 15:21 referred to by Allah as khalifatullah 15:23 fil ard. God's caliph, entrusted by 15:28 Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala to manage 15:31 this earth. To nurture the world to 15:36 create conditions of a prosperous and 15:40 thriving life. That is our duty. So if 15:45 humans create ghosts, create problems, 15:47 well, that's what you call a problem. 15:51 It is a great human error. Therefore, 15:53 Allah sent down religion. In the book " 15:58 Walking the Path to Heaven" that we are 16:00 discussing, we are still in chapter 4. 16:04 From this verse, it is stated that 16:06 everything that lives will surely die, 16:10 except for Allah, the Ever-Living and 16:12 Eternal. Yes. So only Allah is eternal. 16:17 Apart from Allah, all creatures will 16:19 perish. Kullu shay'in halikun illa 16:22 wajhahu. Everything in this creation 16:28 will surely perish. The only thing that 16:31 will not perish is Allah. He is eternal 16:33 and everlasting. Second, every human 16:38 will be tested with two things: bad and 16:42 good, hardship and ease, disaster or 16:47 fortune. Difficulty or pleasure. So 16:52 that is what it contains. Then what is 16:55 the purpose of the test? When Allah 17:00 Subhanahu wa ta'ala gives a test, for 17:03 example, poverty or lack, it does not 17:06 mean Allah is making humans miserable. 17:13 Because it is mentioned in the Quran 17:14 that this world is a place of testing, 17:18 not a place for eternal happiness. 17:22 Allah has reminded us that the world is 17:24 temporary and full of tests. Joy and 17:27 sorrow, ease and hardship, problems and 17:29 challenges. Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala 17:32 has already told us this. If you want 17:34 eternity, live in the hereafter later. 17:37 Life after death is what is eternal and 17:40 everlasting. That is where, as Allah 17:43 directs, "wabtaghi...""...al-akhirah." 17:47 Seek for yourself the eternal life. The 17:51 homeland that Allah has prepared, the 17:53 darul akhirat. This afterlife should be 17:58 the ultimate goal. The end of life. 18:03 While the world is temporary, mata'ul 18:05 ghurur, a fleeting pleasure, everything 18:10 is completely limited. So, a regent 18:18 only serves 5 years, maybe 10 if 18:20 re-elected, if they don't get caught by 18:22 the KPK first. Being president is 5 18:26 years, if it's not enough, add 5 more 18:29 years, still not enough, wanting it for 18:31 a lifetime, well that's impossible. 18:35 Because those 5 years will be judged by 18:37 the people who elected them, even if 18:41 it's 10 years, it remains limited. In 18:48 the military, there are ranks from 18:51 soldier to corporal, to sergeant, and 18:54 so on up to high-ranking officers with 18:57 stars on their shoulders. Add more, 19:04 because they are great and successfully 19:07 rise in rank, two stars, three stars, 19:10 four stars, it hits a ceiling, right? 19:13 Seven stars. 19:14 Why would you want seven stars? It's 19:17 reached the limit, and when it's 19:19 finished, then what? 19:20 Yes, retirement, a veteran. Retire, do 19:25 you want to wear stars too? It's 19:29 finished. Now, once retired, what's 19:32 next? Well, the late (deceased). 19:35 The highest rank. 19:37 Now, if you want true success, the one 19:39 position, rank, and status that is 19:42 highest for a human if they can reach 19:45 it with success is husnul khatimah (a 19:48 good end). Now, that is true success. 19:51 Yes. 19:54 If it's just in the world, it's success 19:56 , but temporary success. Limited, 20:00 bounded by limitations. Therefore, 20:04 Allah directs this life, make this 20:06 world ad-dunya mazra'atul akhirah (the 20:08 world is the farm for the hereafter). A 20:11 place to sow, a place to strive, a 20:15 battlefield of deeds to show our 20:18 creativity in good works. The world 20:24 that will be obtained. What is it? What 20:27 we do, not our physique, not the house 20:30 we boast about, the rank we are proud 20:33 of, no, but our deeds. Innallaha la 20:36 yanzuru ila ajsamikum wala ila 20:37 suwarikum wa lakin yanzuru ila 20:38 qulubikum wa a'malikum (Verily Allah 20:39 does not look at your bodies or your 20:40 appearances, but He looks at your 20:41 hearts and your deeds). Allah does not 20:45 judge humans by their clothes, their 20:47 positions, not by their wealth, not by 20:50 their beauty or handsomeness, not 20:51 physically. But the value of a human 20:56 will be judged by Allah Subhanahu wa 20:58 ta'ala based on their heart and their 21:00 deeds. If it's the heart, it means a 21:01 heart that has faith. Faith is what 21:05 resides in the heart, the Qur'an 21:08 provides light so that faith grows 21:11 abundantly, able to express the faith 21:17 in one's chest in the form of good 21:20 deeds with two dimensions of value. 21:24 First, the vertical dimension is how 21:27 their relationship with Allah is, their 21:30 gratitude to Allah, their thankfulness, 21:34 obedience, loyalty, contentment, 21:37 patience, and so on, that is judged by 21:40 Allah. Second, the horizontal dimension 21:46 , the social dimension, is judged every 21:50 day when we interact with others. So 21:56 the best of humans is not the one with 21:58 the most friends, not the one with the 22:00 most followers, not the one most 22:04 popular in their society, no. But 22:07 khairun nas anfuhum linnas (the best of 22:08 people are those who are most 22:09 beneficial to others). The best of 22:13 humans are those who can provide many 22:15 benefits to other humans. That means 22:18 deeds, that means a sacrifice. That 22:22 means life is about giving. What can be 22:26 given? Allah has given each of us 22:29 capital, distributed by Allah Subhanahu 22:31 wa ta'ala. Some are given ease in 22:35 business so they succeed as successful 22:37 entrepreneurs, becoming wealthy, 22:39 actually implied within the wealth that 22:41 exists. Make that the drive and support 22:45 that is able to raise your dignity and 22:47 status in the sight of Allah Subhanahu 22:49 wa ta'ala. Now, try measuring it now. 22:55 How much wealth, how deep their 22:58 gratitude, how much capital has Allah 23:01 given them. They become a fortunate 23:04 person, business prospers, ventures 23:06 succeed, and so on. But how far do they 23:08 provide benefits to many people? That 23:12 is how to measure yourself. Sometimes 23:15 Allah doesn't give wealth but provides 23:18 ease. They become successful people, 23:20 officials, and all sorts of things. 23:24 Allah will see how they perform when 23:27 they become successful people. That 23:32 will be observed. What they do. And so 23:39 on, accordingly. What if they aren't 23:41 given capital so they don't become rich 23:44 , but become ordinary people, even 23:46 people who lack everything? From what 23:49 Allah gives as a test of lack, Allah 23:51 wants to hear their heart's complaints. 23:55 How patient they are, how sincere, how 23:57 they perceive Allah, all that is also 23:59 tested by Allah. Even though they don't 24:03 provide much benefit outwardly, if they 24:05 remain servants who are always pleased 24:07 with Allah and believe that Allah never 24:10 mistreats His servants, then they 24:11 remain patient. That patience is far 24:16 better than if they were given an 24:18 abundance of wealth compared to someone 24:24 who is patient because of lacking. So, 24:29 the core is actually a test. Thus, 24:32 Allah directs us to seek the afterlife 24:35 with what He has given. And do not 24:38 forget your share in this world. So, 24:40 don't you forget your destiny in this 24:42 world. Islam was not revealed to be 24:46 anti-world. If that were so, one 24:48 shouldn't be wealthy. You may. Go ahead 24:50 and become wealthy. The companions were 24:52 also wealthy. But their wealth was not 24:56 kept, it was not engraved in their 24:58 hearts, not stored in their hearts and 25:04 never made an idol of their wealth. Not 25:08 made into something that becomes the 25:10 main goal, but made merely as an 25:17 instrument that can support one's 25:20 status in the eyes of Allah. That is 25:26 the essence of life between gratitude 25:28 and patience. So, we are actually 25:32 playing a role, with attitudes that 25:36 Allah assesses every day. Please, if 25:40 you are to be a successful person, go 25:42 ahead; if you are a wealthy person who 25:45 is grateful to Allah and does good to 25:47 others, that is high quality. It means 25:50 your acting in this world is good. If 25:53 they become an official, Allah sees how 25:55 they act as an official. Are they 25:58 arrogant, boastful, or do they hurt the 26:02 people, or conversely, protect and 26:05 benefit them? Leading by example at the 26:12 front, 26:13 being in the middle to inspire, 26:17 and providing support from behind. So 26:19 it's not supporting danger, but 26:21 supporting by giving encouragement and 26:24 setting an example. Their presence is 26:28 very much needed. Meaning, if they were 26:32 gone, it would be felt that something 26:35 is missing. Their presence in the midst 26:38 of the society they lead is very 26:40 necessary; the feeling of joy and 26:43 importance is very much needed in 26:45 society. Now, that is what you call a 26:48 successful human being. So, do not 26:51 forget your share in this world. Do not 26:54 forget your destiny in this world. And 26:57 do good as Allah has done good to you. 27:00 Be good as Allah has been good to you. 27:05 So that is the point, to do good. So 27:11 which human is good, primary, and high 27:14 quality? The one who does good. Even if 27:18 the person may not be as handsome or as 27:20 dashing as movie stars. 27:23 The person might be simple, but it 27:25 turns out their character is good. 27:27 Their manners. Their etiquette, their 27:30 social interaction, and so on are good. 27:35 That makes them a good human being, a 27:37 person loved by God. They prioritize 27:41 their times for worship and prayer. 27:44 They even wake up at night to give 27:46 thanks, pray, and recite dhikr. If 27:52 given wealth, they are generous, giving 27:55 , compassionate, loving, and care about 27:59 the fate of others. Orphans and 28:04 underprivileged children who aren't in 28:07 school become a concern. Why aren't you 28:11 in school? Why don't you study and so 28:15 on? Because they have been given the 28:17 capacity, plenty of money. Go ahead and 28:20 go to school. Make this man your foster 28:23 father. The father who will take care 28:25 of you. That is called a good person. 28:28 Even if the person might look plain. 28:31 That is why there is a Javanese proverb 28:33 that says, "Don't judge by appearances. 28:35 " Who would have thought a caterpillar 28:38 could make silk? Do not like to 28:42 underestimate people because of their 28:43 appearance, because of their clothes, 28:48 because of their physique, and so on. 28:52 Who would have thought a caterpillar 28:54 could produce silk? Who would have 28:56 thought that such an ugly caterpillar? 28:59 It doesn't even have a clear appearance 29:00 . Crawling around, creeping along like 29:03 that. But it is precisely that creeping 29:07 caterpillar that produces silk threads. 29:11 So do not underestimate that. Even if a 29:15 buffalo or a bull, for instance, has 29:17 red eyes, is sturdy, strong, and 29:19 powerful, something else comes out from 29:22 behind them, not silk thread. So indeed 29:26 , everyone has been given strengths by 29:28 God. The parameter of human nobility is 29:32 when they pass their tests. When in 29:37 abundance, they pass the test as 29:39 generous people, as good people, as 29:41 grateful people, as people who provide 29:43 much benefit. If they are given lack, 29:47 poverty, and so on, they still never 29:49 harbor bad thoughts about God. They are 29:54 patient, they are sincere, they are 29:55 content, they endure it. Even in times 29:58 of deprivation or lack, they always 30:01 want to do good. They are still able to 30:06 help others. They still give charity 30:08 even though their wealth is not much. 30:11 Now, that is a true human being. 30:13 Therefore, because life is indeed a 30:16 test, then trials always come. Not 30:22 always. Meaning, almost all of those 30:26 trials don't suit our tastes. Sometimes 30:31 God tests us with lack, poverty, poor 30:35 health, and so on. Just get sick for 2 30:38 or 3 days, and one is already 30:40 complaining. Even though one has been 30:42 healthy for years. Tested with lack, 30:47 even though abundance has been felt and 30:49 enjoyed every day, and so on. Therefore 30:54 , let us use this life opportunity, 30:59 knowing that life is a field for 31:03 quality testing. So, having a mental 31:10 readiness for any situation is only 31:13 possible if we equip ourselves in this 31:16 life by viewing existence with a 31:24 mindset based on faith and devotion to 31:28 God. I have said many times on several 31:34 occasions that we can learn from the 31:38 philosophy of a blossoming flower 31:41 h 31:42 in order to become fruit. Because 31:47 natural phenomena also provide lessons. 31:51 There are many lessons we can learn. It 31:54 turns out a flower is not just 31:57 beautiful to look at. It has a task to 32:01 become a fruit. A mango tree, for 32:06 example, during the flowering season. 32:12 During the fruiting season, its 32:14 branches and twigs are full of flowers, 32:24 and the flower's main task is to 32:27 upgrade its status; it must transform 32:30 itself from a flower into a fruit. What 32:35 must it do? It must undergo pollination 32:38 . God sends help—blowing winds, 32:44 insects, or others—to assist with 32:48 pollination. But what happens when the 32:53 wind blows? What happens is that many 32:56 flowers actually fall off. They scatter 32:59 , lying messy on the ground, eventually 33:02 becoming trash trodden on by people. 33:06 Why? Apparently, they are low-quality 33:09 flowers that did not fulfill their duty 33:12 to undergo pollination. What percentage 33:19 remains? More fall, scatter, and turn 33:23 into waste compared to those that stay 33:26 perched and succeed in pollination to 33:29 become small fruits. As Javanese people 33:35 call them "pentil," if you mispronounce 33:38 it, the meaning can change. 33:40 Yeah. 33:41 And it turns out that even being a 33:44 small fruit is no guarantee. Will that 33:48 small fruit be able to become an edible 33:50 fruit? Not necessarily. It depends on 33:53 its quality. So, God sends down rain. 34:00 Rain is indeed needed to enlarge the 34:02 fruit, to nourish the tree, and so on. 34:07 Again, this happens as a test of 34:10 quality. Which fruit is strong enough 34:13 to hold firmly to its stem, whether it 34:16 is high-quality or not? It turns out 34:20 that even though they have become 34:22 fruits, when the rain falls, many drop 34:25 and scatter. Even more fall, with only 34:31 a few remaining perched. Those that 34:35 remain despite the rain go on to become 34:37 large, ripe fruits. Is that enough? The 34:44 ripening process needs rain, sunlight, 34:48 and heat. It turns out there are still 34:52 some fruits that then wither, drop, and 34:55 fall. From one stem that held tens or 35:00 hundreds of fruits, how many actually 35:03 remain? Just a handful. Only a limited 35:10 number are of such quality that they 35:12 can become fully ripe fruits. Is it 35:17 over? The final test is not yet 35:20 complete. This is the hardest part. It 35:23 turns out there are fruits that 35:26 everyone looks at and says, "That's a 35:28 fresh fruit, that's a ripe fruit." But 35:36 when they are peeled, some fruits are 35:40 rotten inside. There are rotten fruits, 35:46 spoiled within, filled with worms or 35:49 disease; naturally, they aren't eaten, 35:52 they are discarded, sharing the same 35:55 fate as those that fell before. 35:59 Masyaallah. This is a high level. It's 36:01 about sincerity. There are people who 36:03 appear "Oh, generous. Oh, that's a 36:05 learned ustaz, oh, that's a good person 36:07 ." But it turns out their hearts were 36:08 not sincere for the sake of God. 36:09 Because of vanity, pride, or arrogance, 36:12 they fall. That is a simple 36:14 illustration. We can learn today from 36:18 the process of a flower becoming a 36:20 fruit. It turns out it is actually 36:23 quite similar to our lives in this 36:25 world as a test. To Allah we shall 36:32 return and be judged. Will we become 36:35 quality human beings? Or will we be 36:38 like fallen flowers and fruits, 36:40 scattered, low-quality, and eventually 36:42 becoming trash? Plant waste can become 36:46 fertilizer. I am 75 years 38:48 old now and I always pray that Allah 38:51 Subhanahu wa ta'ala gives me sincerity 38:53 and complete faith in taking care of 38:56 this niece/nephew of mine. Thank you, 38:59 Ustaz. Please provide an explanation. 39:01 Yes, alhamdulillah. Uh actually, for a 39:07 child, the obligation is on their 39:09 parents. It is not directly burdened on 39:15 the niece/nephew, meaning 39:16 the aunt. 39:17 The aunt. Is this a brother, a mother, 39:19 or 39:19 a sister? 39:20 A sister. 39:21 A sister. So it is not just about being 39:24 an aunt or anything, but if the parents 39:27 are gone or unable, then we as 39:29 relatives have an obligation in terms 39:32 of responsibility, as a family bond, 39:35 that is, Masha Allah, a nobility. Allah is giving an 40:25 opportunity, 40:27 the opening of the doors of paradise 40:29 for you, Ma'am, in caring for your 40:31 niece/nephew. 40:32 Yes. 40:33 So I think this is extraordinary, yes. 40:35 It is also a test of care. 40:38 Yes. It is indeed not easy. 40:40 Yes, Ustaz. 40:41 It is not easy to take care of others, 40:44 especially when they are sick, covering 40:46 their expenses, waiting on them, and so 40:48 on. God willing, I think this is also 40:52 an opportunity for you to attain 40:54 paradise because providing help to the 40:57 sick is extraordinary. God willing, He 41:01 will forgive our sins and Allah will 41:03 replace everything, it will not be in 41:05 vain. How do we 41:29 distinguish between a blessing that is 41:31 a mercy and a blessing that is actually 41:34 an istidraj, which is a pleasure that 41:37 makes a person drift further from Allah 41:40 ? 41:41 Yes, Masha Allah. A blessing that is a 41:46 gift, when met with gratitude, 41:48 increases in favor. A blessing is 41:52 something or a situation that can 41:55 provide happiness and goodness. That is 41:58 truly a blessing, as it is beneficial 42:01 not only for ourselves but also for 42:04 others through what we receive. For 42:08 example, provision for our children, 42:11 being able to go to school, helping 42:13 others, giving charity, and so on. So, 42:17 it is a blessing that provides benefits 42:20 , many benefits, not just for oneself. 42:25 Now, what about the wealth mentioned 42:28 earlier as what? Uh, the gift that 42:33 Allah is not pleased with can be 42:35 observed. First, because what we are 42:38 doing is actually not something that is 42:41 pleasing to Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala 42:44 in seeking our provision, or our 42:48 attitude lacks gratitude toward Allah. 42:50 Then Allah gives us wealth, such as 42:52 business profits and so on. But that 42:55 acts as one not as a true blessing. 43:00 Because that wealth could actually 43:03 bring disaster if we do not show 43:06 gratitude, instead leading to greed, 43:12 and even prolonged problems and issues. 43:16 So, it can be seen firstly from the way 43:18 the wealth was obtained. Then the 43:20 second, uh the matter of that wealth, 43:25 the impact of that wealth. It can be 43:28 seen whether this is a gift from Allah 43:30 that He is pleased with or not. 43:33 Therefore, when we ask Allah, "O Allah, 43:37 grant us blessed wealth, not just a lot 43:42 of it." 43:42 Yeah. It is not certain that having a 43:45 lot of wealth will bring goodness. Not 43:47 necessarily. In fact, many people with 43:50 istidraj wealth become even busier and 43:53 more stressed managing their wealth. 43:56 Yeah. 43:57 Their energy and thoughts are consumed; 43:59 daytime is not enough, evening to night 44:01 they continue to be enslaved by their 44:03 wealth. Even though they themselves may 44:05 not necessarily enjoy what they are 44:07 managing. It could be our provision. 44:12 Instead, their hearts feel less at 44:14 peace, and their minds are disturbed. 44:16 Aha. That could be wealth that is 44:19 istidraj from Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala 44:21 . Because we lack gratitude and do not 44:24 place it where it belongs. So, if a 44:26 blessing is given by Allah to us, even 44:28 if it is little but blessed, there is 44:30 peace in the heart and it provides many 44:32 benefits to many people. We do not 44:34 forget Allah, and we become more 44:35 diligent in our worship; that, God 44:37 willing, is a blessed favor to be 44:38 enjoyed. But if it brings problems, it 44:41 might be an*istidraj*that brings no 44:44 blessings. Wallahu'alam (God knows best 44:45 ). 44:46 Very well, Ustadz. We have Mr. Dedi in 44:50 Sukabumi. Peace be upon you, and 44:52 Allah's mercy and blessings, Ustadz. 44:53 And peace be upon you, and Allah's 44:55 mercy and blessings. 44:56 Ustadz mentioned earlier about wealthy 44:58 people who are generous and care for 45:00 others. So, what are the indicators 45:03 that someone is truly sincere and has 45:05 passed the test of wealth according to 45:07 the Quran and Sunnah? If we look at the 45:14 lives of the companions, many of them 45:17 were very wealthy. Not just wealthy, 45:20 but extremely rich. Uthman bin Affan, 45:24 Abu Bakar As-Siddiq, Abdurrahman bin 45:27 Auf, and others. They were wealthy, but 45:31 their wealth did not bind their hearts. 45:38 Their hearts were always bound to Allah 45:42 , seeing wealth merely as a tool, an 45:45 instrument, or a means, not as the 45:49 ultimate goal. So, the signs that 45:57 wealth will guide one are a heart that 46:01 becomes more devout, more grateful, and 46:04 more sensitive toward others. If they 46:10 become wealthier but stingier, always 46:13 feeling a lack, or exhausted by 46:16 managing it. And then there are 46:19 problems and unresolved issues. Well, 46:22 that means there is something wrong. 46:25 Because a narration states that every 46:28 day, there is a transaction of human 46:31 attitudes. First, the person who has a 46:38 life motivation to worship. They 46:40 realize that humans were created for 46:43 worship. So, their mindset is that life 46:48 is worship. How to turn our dynamics, 46:52 activities, and routines into worship. 46:56 Both*mahdah*(pure) and*ghairu mahdah*( 46:58 general) worship. So their movements, 47:02 attitudes, fatigue, and work as long as 47:05 they wake up until they go back to 47:11 sleep, how it all holds the value of 47:13 worship. And that becomes the 47:16 motivation that life is indeed worship. 47:18 If it is worship, then it is a struggle 47:20 . If it is a struggle, then sacrifice 47:23 is required. They live life by offering 47:27 something to Allah. Now, for those 47:32 whose life motivation is a journey of 47:34 worship, and service, three things are 47:39 obtained. First, peace of heart. Try to 47:44 feel it. 47:45 Yes. 47:47 There are wealthy people whose hearts 47:49 are calm, peaceful, blessed, and their 47:51 families are obedient. The children are 47:55 well-behaved and don't cause trouble. 47:58 Masha Allah. Whenever there is a need, 48:01 Allah's help comes, so their hearts are 48:04 at peace. Second, when facing problems, 48:07 because life is indeed full of problems 48:09 , everyone will face them. The richer 48:13 you get, the more problems you have, 48:15 the more problems arise. The higher the 48:17 position, the more problems and issues 48:18 there are. Well, Allah provides 48:21 assistance. 48:22 Yes. We are not left to struggle alone 48:24 with those problems and issues. There 48:27 is always a solution provided by Allah. 48:30 And the solution given by Allah is the 48:33 best one. It just appears. Why do they 48:37 get a solution? Because they always 48:39 rely on Allah, always drawing closer to 48:41 Allah when facing trials. So Allah 48:44 Himself will provide the help. 48:46 Sometimes that help is beyond our 48:48 expectations. Suddenly, it is resolved 48:51 well. reassuring and no longer a 48:54 problem. And third, their sustenance 48:57 cannot be refused by anyone. It won't 49:01 be mistaken; it will surely come. 49:03 Yeah. Sustenance is what we use, what 49:07 we enjoy, a peaceful family, children, 49:11 devoted children, a loyal wife, 49:13 masyaallah, having many friends and 49:17 companions, that is sustenance. 49:21 i 49:21 their wealth is peaceful, used for 49:24 worship and so on. This is if the 49:27 motivation is worship. Second, there 49:29 are people whose life motivation is 49:31 only for the world. Oh, just the world. 49:35 Waking up, their focus is definitely 49:37 the world. Money, money, money. How 49:39 life is about accumulating wealth and 49:42 so on. These are the materialists who 49:45 make material things everything, even a 49:48 new idol. Neopaganism, a new idol. 49:52 Money, money, money. Even judging truth 49:55 by money. Thinking pragmatically. Life 49:58 is about what's enjoyable. Life is 49:59 about what's profitable. If it's not 50:01 profitable, it's not considered right. 50:04 This group of people, who are the 50:06 majority in this life, will also be 50:09 given three things. One, a perspective 50:12 of poverty. In their eyes, what has 50:15 been achieved, even though wealth is 50:18 abundant, rank is present, or riches 50:20 are everywhere, they always feel 50:23 lacking. Wow, this is increasingly 50:26 stimulating. Eventually, it even leads 50:30 to greed. Greed is insatiable, never 50:33 feeling full. As the Javanese say, a 50:36 holey pocket. No matter how much you 50:38 fill it, there's a hole; it's never, 50:39 ever full. One. The second, the 50:42 problems get more numerous. When you 50:46 don't have anything, you don't have 50:47 many problems. If you have a bicycle, 50:50 the most you deal with is a valve issue 50:52 or a flat tire. But once you have a 50:55 motorcycle, there are many problems. 50:58 Must have a license, go to the garage, 51:00 pay taxes, wear a helmet, must, must, 51:02 must, must. Having a car is the same, 51:05 especially having a company, paying 51:07 employees, paying for electricity. And 51:10 this and that, especially if there are 51:12 10 factories. Just imagine that. 51:14 taxes. 51:15 paying taxes, chased by the government 51:17 for taxes, dealing with all sorts of 51:19 things. Masyaallah, so many problems. 51:22 And unfortunately, Allah does not 51:25 provide help; they are left to struggle 51:29 with the problems and issues. dizzy 51:32 from every direction. And third, their 51:37 sustenance is no more than the portion 51:39 decreed by Allah. Just from eating, 51:43 what they eat is little; they don't 51:44 have an appetite because they are 51:45 thinking about money. Then in the 51:47 morning, they don't have time for 51:49 breakfast, maybe just coffee. They want 51:51 to smoke, go to the office until a 51:53 certain hour because they have to sign 51:55 this, have this meeting, and so on. No 51:58 time to eat. Time. already hungry, "Oh 52:02 God, just eat a little, later there is 52:05 this meeting, that meeting, until night 52:07 ." At night, they want to eat but it 52:09 doesn't taste good anymore. That is 52:12 indeed their sustenance. Even if they 52:15 have a villa in the mountains, they 52:17 might not necessarily enjoy it once a 52:19 month; it's not certain. Oh, they are 52:21 busy with domestic affairs, let alone 52:24 if their business expands abroad. Wow, 52:27 masyaallah, this meeting is important, 52:29 that meeting, and so on. let alone 52:31 jumping into the swimming pool. 52:34 Sometimes you go to Puncak, leave at 52:36 9:00 AM, arrive there at 12:00 PM, and 52:38 just as you start looking around, 52:40 there's a phone call: "Sir, we’re 52:42 reminding you that there’s an 52:43 important meeting tonight that can't be 52:45 represented by anyone else, so head 52:47 back to Jakarta." So that’s his 52:51 provision; it’s clearly not meant for 52:53 him. So, who is the villa bought for? 52:55 It’s for the provision of the 52:56 caretaker who watches over it. He 52:59 bathes in the morning with his wife, 53:01 splashing around in the swimming pool. 53:03 Yeah. 53:04 There are 17 rooms; on Sunday night 53:06 he’s in one room, then on Tuesday 53:09 another room. Even though he’s all 53:11 alone, there’s no one else there. 53:13 See, that means his provision is still 53:15 limited according to God's decree. 53:18 Therefore, let us organize our lives 53:20 with faith, with belief, following the 53:22 rules of God and the Prophet, so life 53:25 becomes a blessing. Life's guarantee is 53:29 God's guarantee. Even if you don't look 53:31 for it, it will still be there. Seeking 53:33 provision is an act of worship, not a 53:35 determining factor. Many people work 53:37 hard but get very little. That’s just 53:39 their allotted share. If being smart 53:42 were a requirement to be a rich person, 53:47 many smart people would still live 53:49 simple lives. While some "foolish" 53:52 people are actually quite clever, good 53:54 at business, no schooling, nothing. 53:56 Yes, so indeed this life is already 53:58 arranged by God. But we must still make 54:01 an effort as an obligation, with the 54:02 intention of worshiping God. So, be a 54:05 rich person who is also rich in heart. 54:08 Don't be rich in wealth but poor in 54:09 spirit. Don't worry, go ahead and be 54:12 rich, but also enrich your heart with 54:15 faith, with compassion, with care; God 54:17 willing, it will be a blessed pleasure. 54:20 Our main task is, as we were not 54:22 created, neither jinn nor human, except 54:25 to worship. That is the main thing; 54:27 others will follow, God willing. God 54:29 knows best. 54:29 God knows best. And that becomes the 54:32 final answer to the question from Mr. 54:36 Dedi. Ustaz, is there a 54:40 conclusion? 54:42 My dear brothers, may God have mercy on 54:45 you, so let us, God willing, face the 54:48 romance of life and the various events 54:51 we encounter with calmness and faith. 54:55 Seeing in this life is not enough with 54:57 the eyes of the head, but with the eyes 54:58 of the heart and the eyes of faith. 55:01 Only with the eyes of faith can we see 55:04 the wisdom behind every event. As the 55:07 Prophet admired that a believer is 55:09 truly extraordinary. Why? If given 55:13 goodness or abundance, their goodness 55:15 increases, their gratitude grows, their 55:17 humility deepens, their sincerity 55:19 strengthens, and their worship 55:20 increases. That means after being given 55:25 a blessing, their quality increases and 55:27 their rank rises. God loves him. People 55:31 also love him. His presence is needed 55:34 in society because of his goodness. And 55:39 if given a test of poverty or lack, he 55:42 remains steadfast and patient. He can 55:45 smile in the midst of his shortages. 55:50 He 55:51 remains patient. And more importantly, 55:54 he never thinks negatively of God. He 55:58 remains certain that God is the 55:59 All-Compassionate, the All-Merciful. 56:00 God does not persecute His servants. 56:03 God will not wrong His servants. Every 56:06 kindness or hardship faced by humans 56:09 definitely has wisdom behind it. And 56:12 whatever happens is for the best. Wow, 56:16 an attitude like this is not easy. Only 56:18 with firm faith, God willing, can we 56:21 see the wisdom, the gems of wisdom 56:24 behind every event that occurs. 56:27 Hopefully 56:28 we are made into servants who always 56:30 understand that life is not enough to 56:32 be seen with the physical eyes, but 56:34 with the eyes of faith, the eyes of the 56:35 Quran 56:37 so that, God willing, we can see the 56:39 wisdom behind every event.
