- How are you this morning, Ustaz?
- Alhamdulillah. I am well. Alright,
- brothers and sisters. Let us listen
- together to the explanation presented
- by Ustaz Ahmad Sanusi in this Fathul
- Bari book study, regarding Hadith
- Bukhari number 4029. Please, Ustaz.
- Peace be upon you, and Allah's mercy
- and blessings. I seek refuge in Allah
- from the accursed Satan. In the name of
- Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most
- Merciful. Praise be to Allah who has
- honored us over the nations with the
- glorious Quran, and guided us by His
- grace to the rulings of the righteous
- path, and established through it our
- souls between the promise and the
- warning. He protected it from the
- distortion of the ignorant and the
- perversion of the stubborn, falsehood
- cannot approach it from before it or
- behind it, a revelation from a Wise and
- Praiseworthy One. I bear witness that
- there is no god but Allah and I bear
- witness that Muhammad is His messenger.
- O Allah, send blessings upon our leader
- Muhammad and the family of our leader
- Muhammad. O Allah, Creator of the
- heavens and the earth, Knower of the
- unseen and the witnessed, You judge
- between Your servants in that over
- which they differ. Guide us to the
- truth of what they differed over by
- Your permission. Indeed, You guide whom
- You will to the straight path. To
- proceed: O servants of Allah, I advise
- you to fear Allah. Fear Allah as He
- should be feared, and do not die except
- as Muslims. Listeners of Radio
- Silaturahim and viewers of Silaturahim
- television wherever you are. On this
- occasion, we will study Hadith Bukhari
- number 4029. Among others, with the
- help of the book Fathul Bari, Volume 7,
- starting from page 418. For that, let
- us begin with the Mother of the Book,
- Al-Fatihah. Al-Fatihah. I seek refuge
- in Allah from the accursed Satan. In
- the name of Allah, the Most Gracious,
- the Most Merciful. All praise is due to
- Allah, Lord of the worlds, the Most
- Gracious, the Most Merciful. Master of
- the Day of Judgment. You alone we
- worship, and You alone we ask for help.
- Guide us to the straight path, the path
- of those whom You have blessed, not of
- those who have earned Your anger, nor
- of those who are astray. I seek refuge
- in Allah from the accursed Satan. In
- the name of Allah, the Most Gracious,
- the Most Merciful. Whatever is in the
- heavens and whatever is on the earth
- glorifies Allah, and He is the Exalted
- in Might, the Wise. It is He who
- expelled the ones who disbelieved among
- the People of the Scripture from their
- homes. It is He who expelled the
- disbelievers among the People of the
- Scripture from their homes for the
- first gathering. They did not think
- that they would leave, and they thought
- that their fortresses would protect
- them from Allah, but Allah came at them
- from where they had not expected and
- cast terror into their hearts. He cast
- terror into their hearts; they
- destroyed their houses with their own
- hands and the hands of the believers.
- They destroyed their houses with their
- own hands and the hands of the
- believers, so take warning, take
- warning, O people of vision. Allah has
- spoken the truth. Surah Al-Hashr verse
- 1, God willing, until verse 5. This
- Surah Hashr, actually what is meant is
- not 'hashr', gathered on the Day of
- Resurrection. For here, what is
- actually meant is as captured in Surah
- Hashr verse 2, namely 'liawwalil hasri'
- . At the time of the first relocation,
- Allah gave the first very firm lesson
- to the Banu Nadir. That is why the
- companion Ibn Abbas, in the Sahih
- Bukhari hadith which will be our topic
- after this, number 4029, when the
- companion Said bin Jubair asked the
- companion Ibn Abbas, when Said bin
- Jubair asked the companion Ibn Abbas,
- Ibn Abbas explained that Surah Al-Hashr
- can also be called the Surah of Nadir.
- Why? Because the Banu Nadir, the Jews,
- were given a first lesson by Allah,
- liawalil Hasyri, which was being moved
- from Medina to Sham. Sham here, it does
- not mean that even though the Jews
- clearly wanted to kill the Prophet and
- his companions, wanted to take over
- power and the economy in Medina, and
- wanted to destroy Islam, they were
- still answered and responded to by the
- Qur'an, Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala, and
- Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi
- wasallam with a very polite and gentle
- answer. I will not kill you even though
- you clearly want to kill us. It has
- been proven many times; you are simply
- asked to move to the land of Sham. This
- is extraordinary. They should have been
- sentenced to death. In Sham, it does
- not mean they were tortured with
- extraordinary torture, basically. No.
- Because Sham at that time was already a
- place for trade.
- Auzubillahiminasyaitanirrajim.
- Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. Liilafi
- Quraysh ilfihim rihlatasita wasif.
- So, during the winter, they went to
- Yemen. Ilafihim. So, the habit of the
- Quraysh, liilafi Quraysh. So, ilfihim,
- they traveled while looking for trade
- opportunities, traveling while carrying
- goods. So, they traded during the
- winter, going to Yemen. Meanwhile,
- during the summer, they went to Sham.
- So, that is the pride, the advantage,
- and the politeness of the Islamic
- religion. A Jew who clearly wanted to
- kill was still given an opportunity.
- The important thing is not to do it
- again. That is the difference in
- hualladzi akhraja. If it is akhraja,
- the disbelievers gathered and united
- with the Jews, Banu Qainuqa, Banu Nadir
- , Banu Quraidah, to expel the Prophet.
- If it is ikhraj, it means to expel and
- kill if possible. And their wealth may
- not be taken, their families may not be
- taken. That is ukhriju, ikhraj. But if
- they, the Jews, were actually jal-la,
- in our language, as immortalized in the
- Qur'an, Surah Al-Hashr verse 3,
- Al-Jalaah. So, jala means they were
- told to move. Why? Please bring all
- your wealth. Whatever can be taken,
- just take it; please bring everything
- if possible. If necessary, bring the
- house, bring their wives, bring them.
- It is different. If Muslims were
- clearly expelled, no, they were not
- allowed to bring their wealth or
- families. They were not allowed to, if
- necessary, they were killed. That is
- what is described in the Qur'an, Surah
- Al-Hajj, the 22nd surah, up to verse 40
- . Alladhina ukhriju min diarihim.
- Alladhina ukhriju min diarihim bighairi
- haqq. Allah tells how these Muslims
- were expelled from their country, from
- their land. Because these Muslims were
- the natives. Illa ayakulullah. Only
- because the Muslims admitted that Allah
- is only one. Only because they are
- Muslims. Wa ikhraju ahlihi minhu akbar
- indallah. That is Al-Baqarah verse 217.
- Al-Baqarah 191, Al-Anfal verse 30,
- Al-Isra 76. Watahqiqual jala khu minal
- ikhraj liannal jalaa maal ahli wal
- ikhraju ammu minhu. Fathul Bari volume
- 8 page 811. And the matter of ordering
- the Jews to move was not the Prophet's
- personal desire, but a directive,
- permission, and command from Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala. Allah conveyed
- this in the Qur'an, in Surah Al-Hashr
- or the aforementioned Surah An-Nadir.
- Hualladzi akhraja, Allah is the one who
- commanded them to move, so that they
- might live there and repent, and
- improve themselves. Whether they want
- to convert to Islam or not is up to
- them. The important thing is never to
- harm or hurt others, especially their
- fellow human beings. In this case,
- fellow human beings, the Muslim
- community, who never disturb others.
- That is why Allah says, "Walaula
- kataballahu alaihimul jala lazabahum
- fid dunya." So, essentially, them being
- moved was not an extraordinary torment.
- It was actually an opportunity to
- improve themselves. That is why Allah
- says, "Laula anataballah." If Allah had
- not decreed/mandated for the Banu Nadir
- the "jalaah"(displacement, some
- interpret it as expulsion, moving from
- Medina to Sham), He would have surely
- punished them severely in this world,
- specifically the Banu Nadir. In this
- world, if they had not moved, there
- would be a heavier, firmer punishment.
- "Walahum fil akhirati adzabun nar." And
- in the afterlife, it is certain if they
- do not improve themselves. Speaking of
- Surah Al-Hashr, before going too far,
- as previously mentioned, Al-Hashr here
- is how they were gathered in one place.
- This is a very firm lesson for them.
- This means a lesson that they are
- surely placed in a certain area so that
- we can easily monitor them. When a
- crime is committed, the impact on
- others is not too great. That is one
- aspect. So, the Muslim community must
- possess sophistication and intelligence
- in minimizing the unjust deeds of those
- who might harm fellow Jews, or
- especially harm the Muslim community.
- This is the meaning of "li-awwalil
- hashri." So, "al-hashr" there is indeed
- , sometimes "hashr" refers to the place
- of gathering. If it is a place, it is
- called "mahsyar," but what is meant by
- "awwalil hashri" is where they were
- gathered in one place to easily observe
- their movements so they would not cause
- too many casualties. Surah Al-Hashr is
- similar to Surah Al-Ma'arij in that we
- need to study it deeply. Some argue
- that "Ma'arij" here is "Zil Ma'arij."
- Surah Al-Ma'arij. This "Zil Ma'arij" is
- the 70th chapter, the third verse,
- which is named Al-Ma'arij. Some believe
- it is interpreted as "sahibi amkinatil
- uruji was su'ud." Apparently, this is
- the Quranic interpretation from the
- Middle East, like this. They interpret
- that God has a place of ascent and
- descent. "Ma'arij" there is interpreted
- as God having a place of ascent and
- descent. I am conveying this here so
- that we are not taken by surprise. So
- we do not intend to judge, we are just
- being neutral. But some interpret it
- that way. Such an interpretation, if
- that is indeed the intention, then
- there are many more cautious
- interpretations that are more in line
- with the Quran, the Sunnah, as well as
- the respected Salafi books, which
- create their own interpretations.
- Unless what is meant is that Allah has
- a kind of heaven that is a place for
- angels to ascend and descend, not Allah
- . But if what is meant by*minallah*(
- from Allah) in*al-Ma'arij*is that the
- one ascending and descending and
- possessing the place is Allah Subhanahu
- wa ta'ala, so that Allah needs a place
- to rest when ascending and rest when
- descending, and so on. Then there is a
- more cautious interpretation. This is
- who interprets it like that. And such
- interpretations are often made by our
- Mujassimah friends.
- Mujassimah.
- Uh, yes, those who assume that God has
- a body, a shape, and needs a place,
- needs to go up and down, and so on. We
- see that this Quran is the same. This
- Quran also gives them a different
- interpretation. Even though it is the
- same Quran from there. They interpret*
- dhil ma'arij*there. Surah Al-Ma'arij is
- *dhis samawati*(possessor of the
- heavens). At the very least, Allah is
- the one who possesses authority. Allah
- is the creator and Allah is the one who
- has authority in the heavens. *Awil
- fadili*(possessor of bounties). Allah
- has various virtues, *wa ni'am*, and
- various blessings. We. In Tafsir Ibn
- Kathir, which is usually their
- reference, Tafsir Ibn Kathir does not
- explain that Allah needs a place and
- that Allah must ascend and descend like
- that. What is in this Tafsir Ibn Kathir
- , the book is volume 4, page 419. *Dhu
- al-ma'arij*(Lord of the Ways of Ascent)
- intended by*dhil ma'arij*there is not
- that Allah has a place to ascend and
- descend so that He needs a place to
- ascend and descend. But that Allah
- possesses degrees. *Waqala Ali ibn Abi
- Talhah 'an Ibn' Abbas: al-ma'arij ya'ni
- al- 'uluww wal fawadil. *Allah has high
- degrees and various virtues, not a
- place. *Waqala Mujahid: dhil Ma'arij
- ma'arijus sama'**wa qila fawadili wa
- ni'am. *We look into all the exegeses (
- tafsir). So sometimes, if they create
- their own interpretation, it means they
- have denied their own book of tafsir.
- Actually, let's look at this. This is
- Al-Jami 'li-Ahkam al-Quran, Tafsir
- Al-Qurtubi, volume 18. In Tafsir
- Al-Qurtubi, page, Volume 18, page 244,
- on the right side, a bit further down:
- "Minallahi ma'arij.""Al-fawadili.""Ibn
- Abbas wa qila..." Allah has levels in
- giving various blessings to His
- creatures. Some are satisfied if given
- 100 million, some are satisfied if
- given [a certain amount], and so on.
- For example: "Waqila...al-a'la." Allah
- has majesty, which means possessing
- greatness, possessing high degrees. "
- Waqala Mujahid: hiya ma'arijus sama' wa
- qila hiya ma'arijul malaikah liannal
- malaikata ta'ruju ilaihi," because the
- one ascending and descending is not
- Allah, but the angels who need to
- ascend and descend. "Fawasofa," meaning
- Allah describes Himself as such. "
- Ma'arij." In other books, it is stated,
- "Wahua subhanahu wa taala." Allah is
- transcendent; He needs no place, no
- ascending, or descending. What ascends
- and descends are blessings from Allah,
- rewards from Allah, and His angels sent
- to spread Allah’s mercy. Allah is
- munazzahun anil hawas—beyond the
- senses, beyond similarity, and beyond
- modality like stillness, movement,
- ascending, or descending. Allah does
- not require such things. Al-Qurtubi,
- volume 9, page 29. This, is also in the
- explanation of Al-Qurtubi, volume 9,
- page 29, at the top left. This is just
- discussing the name of the surah.
- Consider how many differing opinions
- there are regarding interpretation. The
- important thing is to return to what is
- most cautious, as Allah subhanahu wa
- taala is "laisa kamithlihi shay'un
- wahuwa samiul bashir." Likewise, Qul
- huwallahu ahad. Allahu somad. Lam yalid
- walam yulad walam yakun lahu kufuwan
- ahad. Allah is also qiyamuhu binafsihi
- —self-subsistent. Allah is not in
- need of anyone, let alone any created
- being. Naturally, because everything
- besides Allah is a creation. Allah is
- mukhalafatul lil-hawadith. Allah is not
- the same as His creation. Now, because
- people sometimes go too far in assuming
- their own opinion is the most correct.
- That is the theory of the majority of
- Ahlussunnah wal Jama'ah scholars.
- Sometimes it is called the Ash'ari
- theory, and other theories may attack
- it, disliking other viewpoints. At the
- very least, besides the many approaches
- that approximate the truth, we must
- return to the Qur'an. For example, the
- Qur'an, Surah Ali Imran, the third
- surah, verse seven. A'udhu billahi
- minash-shaytanir-rajim.
- Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. "Walladhi
- anzala 'alaikal-kitab, minhu ayatun
- muhkamatun hunna ummul-kitab, wa akharu
- mutashabihat..." Those whose hearts are
- perverse are distant from the truth.
- They prefer to search for the ambiguous
- parts, not to seek the truth or caution
- , but to cause discord and seek
- opportunities for disputes and
- arguments among Muslims, interpreting
- them to justify their own opinions.
- Whereas "wa ma ya'lamu ta'wilahu
- illallah," at the very least, we
- entrust the explanation to Allah
- Subhanahu Wa Taala, which is the most
- cautious path. "War-rasikhuna fil-'
- ilmi," those firmly rooted in knowledge
- say, "We believe in it," that
- everything is from Allah. Only those
- who truly use their deepest hearts can
- take heed. So, returning again to the
- Qur'an, Surah Al-Hajj. The
- aforementioned Al-Ma'arij. God willing,
- I will explain it in detail on Monday
- night, heading into Tuesday, at 8:00 PM
- . Hopefully, we remain healthy and live
- long. We return to Al-Hashr for our
- study, or Surah An-Nadir according to
- Sahih Bukhari 409. "Sabbaha," the
- Qur'an, Surah Al-Hashr, verse one. "
- Sabbaha"—glorifies and declares the
- perfection of Allah. Whatever is in the
- heavens and whatever is on the earth
- glorifies Allah, yet we are sometimes
- late for prayer. "Wahual azizu" means
- Allah is the All-Mighty, "wahua" and as
- for Allah, "al-aziz" is the
- All-Powerful, and "al-hakim" is the
- All-Wise. On one side, He is
- All-Powerful; on the other, He is
- All-Wise. His power is balanced by His
- wisdom so that it is not rigid, but
- adjusted to the capacity of His people.
- "La yukallifullahu nafsan illa wus'aha"
- (Allah does not burden a soul beyond
- that it can bear).
- That is why an explanation arises that
- "la yazalul-mu'minu fi fushatin""min
- dinihi fi fushatin min dinihi ma lam
- yusib daman harama"(the believer
- remains in a state of ease regarding
- his religion as long as he does not
- shed forbidden blood). Hadith Bukhari
- 6862 up to 6863. The Muslim community
- is in a state of leeway and ease.
- Anything is fine as long as it is in
- accordance with the Quran and Sunnah
- and does not lead to bloodshed. Now,
- that is Fathul Bari volume 12, pages
- 229 to 234. "Walladzi akhraja," He, yes
- , Allah who "akhraja," commanded to
- move, expel, or cast out. Actually, who
- was commanded to move? "Alladzi," who?
- Allah commanded the "alladhina kafaru,"
- the disbelievers, to move. So, for
- instance, if there is a piece of fruit
- and one has a worm in it, the worm is
- removed so it does not become a disease
- or rot for the others. "Walladzi
- akhrajalladhina kafaru," worms are
- gathered with worms. It is Allah who
- ordered the disbelievers from the
- People of the Book to leave, so they
- can be managed by the Muslim community,
- provided we do not harm them. "Min
- ahlil kitab." From the People of the
- Book; yes, we know ourselves who the
- People of the Book are. "Dikeluarkan
- min diarihim"(expelled from their homes
- ), from their place, their homeland.
- Why? Because they have corrupted their
- homeland and harmed others. "Li awwalil
- hasri" at the time of the first
- migration or expulsion. "Ma zanantum"(
- you did not think), who are you, the
- Muslims? "Ayyahruju"(that they would
- leave), that they could leave your
- country, in a sense. Maybe the people
- are still there, but not too many
- because they have been countered by
- various regulations. Secondly, the
- people might be there, but little by
- little, how can the wealth within our
- country, on our land, be controlled by
- us, not by foreigners, as we might put
- it. That can happen, but we cannot do
- it except with the help of Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala. That is why,
- starting from now, we must also enter
- into politics. With that, vice becomes
- easy; if it is us conveying it,
- shouting for months, it is not certain
- [to change]. But if a leader does it,
- it can be finished in a day, God
- willing; the point is not to harm, look
- for solutions, but vice must be stopped
- . "Ma zanantum," you yourselves were
- not sure, the Muslim community, that "
- ayyahruju," they could move. But with
- Allah's help, in an instant, it is done
- . And yet, if the People of the Book
- believe, "Annahum," that they, the
- People of the Book, "Maniatuhum," can
- defend themselves? Let us repeat, "
- Maniatuhum," to defend/prevent, "hum"(
- them), "Husunuhum," what? Their
- fortresses. What was made into a
- fortress at that time were the trees.
- That is why the useless trees that were
- used as fortresses by the Banu Nadir—
- fortresses not to protect people, but
- to harm others—were eventually dealt
- with. Allah permitted them to be cut
- down or burned. However, it was only
- for trees that would serve to weaken
- them, so they would not oppress their
- peers or the Muslims, and so they could
- move away safely. Rather than having to
- fight, battle, and die, it was better
- to leave safely. So, it was only to
- intimidate them. Therefore, the burning
- there was not meant to destroy, kill,
- or cause harm, but in the sense of
- creating a deterrent. Rather than dying
- in war, it is better to leave and
- relocate. That is how Allah resolved it
- . So, those date palms that were not
- being used were burned by the command
- of Allah. Secondly, it was to save the
- Jewish people themselves; rather than
- dying, it was better for them to leave
- and be escorted to Syria. In our terms,
- to be in a safe state. The matter was
- resolved without having to die. The
- Quran is extraordinary. *Wa dhannu
- annahum mani'atuhum husunuhum. *So, the
- reason for the burning is in the Quran,
- Surah Al-Hashr, verse 2. *Minallah. *
- They could have avoided harsh lessons,
- stern warnings, or punishment from
- Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. *Fa'ata*—
- then He brought upon them. Who? Allah.
- Allah brought about a warning of
- punishment*min haitsu lam yahtasibu*,
- from a situation, time, and condition
- that those disbelievers never expected.
- That is the consequence; if we sow evil
- , Allah will surely retaliate easily.
- They did not expect that if you plant
- kindness, it will produce kindness. But
- if you plant evil, it will not be long
- before you harvest that evil. *Wa
- qadhafa*—and after that, He added,
- giving...who? Allah placed*fi qulubihim
- *in their hearts*ar-ru'b*—fear. There
- was a feeling of fear in their hearts.
- Why? When people are wrong, there is a
- feeling of fear. If people are
- righteous, there is none. So, in any
- religion, if we are righteous, God
- willing, *yukhribuna buyutahum*. In the
- end, they lived only to build houses,
- thinking only of wealth. In the end,
- the wealth they built, the houses they
- constructed with their own hard work,
- were not destroyed or torn down by the
- Muslims, but by themselves. *Yukhribuna
- *—they destroyed, who? They
- themselves. *Buyutahum*—their own
- houses. Why? First, because they did
- not want to—due to their stingy
- habits—they did not want their places
- to be occupied by Muslims. Imagine if
- their hearts were as good as the
- goodness of the Quran and the Muslims.
- Second, they actually had to tear them
- down. Why? Because they needed to build
- new houses in Syria. In the end, they
- took what? Their house doors, and all
- their household equipment was carried
- away. So, houses were built and then
- destroyed. *La haula wala quwwata illa
- billahil aliyil adzim. *In the end, the
- animals suffered, and they themselves
- suffered. Imagine the distance between
- Medina and Syria; Allah illustrates
- this, look, if your life is only to
- build homes without drawing closer to
- Allah or living in harmony with the
- community, then those neat buildings
- won't be destroyed by Muslims, but by
- your own hands, you will tear them down
- . Yukuna, to tear down, to destroy, who
- are they? Buyutahum, their own houses,
- bi-aydihim, with their own hands.
- Wa-aydi al-mu'minin, and assisted, of
- course, by the hands of the believers.
- Fa'tabiru, so take a lesson. Who are
- you all? Ya ulil-absar. O you who have
- insight and vision. Walaula, and had it
- not been that Allah decreed for them,
- Bani Nadir, the exile, He would
- certainly have punished them in this
- world, let alone in the Hereafter,
- where they face the punishment of the
- Fire. Why were they ordered to move?
- Dhalika, as for that, it is because
- they defied Allah, who did they hurt?
- Allah and His Messenger. Waman, and
- whoever, yushaqi Allah. If earlier it
- was defying Allah, whoever hurts Allah
- and opposes Him, then indeed Allah is
- severe in punishment. Ma qata'tum.
- Whatever you cut down. Meaning,
- whatever you cut down. Min linatin, it
- is not from nakhl (date palms) but lina
- . What is meant by lina there are date
- trees that are less useful and not
- staple food. So Islam never interfered
- with their staple food. Aw taraktumuha,
- or you left, the Muslims, the lina
- standing, in a state of being upright
- without being cut from their roots.
- Fabi-idhnillah, all of that happened by
- Allah's permission. Cut or not, it was
- a command from Allah, by His permission
- . Waliyukhziya, and to humiliate, to
- give a firm lesson, Allah says, to the
- fasiq (defiant) people who lead our
- study. Now, let us read. In the name of
- Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most
- Merciful. Asked, "Who am I?" Said bin
- Jubayr to the companion Ibn Abbas
- regarding Surah al-Hashr. What did the
- companion Ibn Abbas say about this
- Surah al-Hashr? He answered, who is Ibn
- Abbas? He said, "You may call or name
- Surah al-Hashr, Surah an-Nadir." Why?
- Because in al-Hashr, Allah reminds us
- of how cruel the betrayal was by the
- Jews of Bani Nadir, so that Muslims
- would not follow and support the
- footsteps of Bani Nadir. Tabahu Syam an
- Abi Bisyrin. Hadith Bukhari 4029, 4645,
- 4882 and 4883. The next hadith is 4030.
- Our material is, a man, that the
- Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)
- allocated some dates, so the Prophet
- brought the Quraidah to awareness,
- meaning the Prophet brought the
- Quraidah, the Jews of Quraidah and the
- Jews of Bani Nadir, to realization. Who
- was the Prophet? Of course, after these
- matters, the Prophet made them aware
- and took control, so the Prophet
- retaliated against them. In short,
- regarding the Jews, on one hand, there
- were those who were good and decent,
- and there were those who truly hated
- the Muslim community. In the past, they
- helped each other; when the Prophet had
- not yet made them aware, they liked to
- help with date-related matters. So,
- after that, the Prophet also helped
- their lives. Regarding the Banu Qaynuqa
- , it was because their leader was
- Phineas. This was because of their
- treachery. Now, we will read about
- their treachery later, so the Prophet
- ordered them to leave. That was the
- first one. Only after that came the
- Banu Nadir. The Banu Qaynuqa incident
- was one month after Badr. One month
- after Badr. Since Badr was in the month
- of Ramadan, one month after Badr means
- the month of Shawwal, which is when
- they were ordered to leave. Only after
- that came the Banu Nadir. The Banu
- Nadir incident was six months after
- Badr. Then later came the Banu Qurayza
- in the 5th year of Hijrah. So initially
- , even if the Prophet ordered the Banu
- Qaynuqa—one group of Jews—to leave,
- the Prophet was still fine, willing to
- respect and honor the other Jews. But
- after they continuously repeated their
- actions, the Prophet ordered those
- groups to leave one by one. The next
- Hadith, 4031. From Ibn Umar, may Allah
- be pleased with them both, he said, "
- The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless
- him and grant him peace, ordered the
- burning." Who was the Messenger of
- Allah, may Allah bless him and grant
- him peace? He ordered the burning of
- the Banu Nadir's palm trees, the ones
- that were of no use, so that they would
- come out; and he also ordered the
- cutting of the Banu Nadir's palm trees,
- specifically those at Al-Buwayrah, a
- place around Medina. Then this verse
- was revealed so that people would not
- blame the Prophet or the Muslim
- community, that the Prophet's actions
- were not from his own desire, "It is
- but inspiration...""...revelation;
- whatever palm trees you cut down or
- left standing on their trunks, it was
- by the permission of Allah." You can
- check this in Fathul Bari, volume 7,
- page 423. So, ...From...So it was not
- the good Ajwa palm trees, but the ones
- that were not good. Let us continue.
- The next Hadith. Hadith Bukhari 4032.
- From Haddasana Ishaq. The Ishaq
- referred to here is Ibn Rahwayh.
- Akbarana Habban, certainly the son of
- Hilal. Akbarana Juwayriyah. Juwayriyah
- bin Asma, from Nafi, from Ibn Umar, may
- Allah be pleased with them both.
- Narrated from the companion Abdullah
- bin Umar, may Allah be pleased with
- them both. From both, meaning from
- Abdullah and his father, certainly
- Sayyidina Umar. That the Prophet, may
- Allah bless him, his family, and his
- companions, grant him peace. That
- Prophet Muhammad, may Allah bless him
- and grant him peace, ordered the
- burning. Who? Prophet Muhammad, may
- Allah bless him and grant him peace,
- ordered the burning of the Banu Nadir's
- palm trees. In this case, the palm
- trees that were not used or were
- useless. Who said this? Ibn Umar, and
- because of the command to burn, finally
- Hassan ibn Thabit said. Who was the
- companion Hassan bin Thabit? The leader
- of the Banu Nadir was a man named Huyay
- bin Ahtab.
- Huyay.
- Huyay bin Ahtab. So, regarding their
- leader, Hassan bin Thabit said, "Wahana
- ala sarti bani luay harikum bil
- buwairati mustatiru.""Wahana ala sarati
- bani luay." How lowly you are, how
- regrettable you are. The leaders of the
- Quraysh infidels at that time, such as
- Abu Sufyan and his companions, who had
- not yet embraced Islam. Hassan bin
- Thabit reminded them, "You have nothing
- to do, yet there is still a family
- connection." Why are you so insistent
- on killing Muhammad and his companions?
- Because of Muhammad, the Prophet
- Muhammad peace be upon him, who
- preaches Islam, you betrayed him and
- intended to kill him, traveling all the
- way from Mecca to Medina. "Harikum," he
- said. So, see, some date palms were cut
- down and some were burned, in order to
- save your lives so you would leave, as
- it is better to move than to fight and
- kill each other. "Terbakarlah harikum
- bil buairah itu mustatir." Then Abu
- Sufyan bin Harith replied, "Adamallahu
- dalika min shin.""Waharq fi
- nawahihassair.""Sat'lamu ayyuna minha
- binuzhin watlamu ayya ardhina tadiruh."
- Abu Sufyan said, "Let it burn; what was
- burned was in Khaibar, in Medina. The
- burning of the Banu Nadir date palms,
- which is immortalized in the Quran in
- Surah Al-Hashr and in the Bukhari
- hadiths from 4029 to 4032, let it be.
- Let it burn there; it won't be long
- before it spreads.""What does that mean
- ?""If the Banu Nadir's date palms
- around Medina are burned, then I am
- happy.""Why?""Because soon it will
- spread, and even the houses of Muhammad
- and his companions will burn; all of
- Medina will burn." Abu Sufyan bin
- Harith had not yet converted to Islam.
- "As for me, I am pleased.""Why? Because
- my house is far away." He said, "
- Adamallahuika min nawahiha nawahil
- madinah.""He meant that the fire would
- spread." Incredible. "Humilatun minal
- yahud." Let us read first. At the very
- least, this large group of Jews was
- divided into three factions. There were
- some Jews who truly did not want to
- fight the Muslims. "W yumaliu alaihiw."
- And they did not want anyone to harm
- the Muslim community, even though they
- were Jewish. "Wahum tawaif, thaaiful
- yahud asalasah." They were divided into
- three: the Quraiza, the Nadir, and the
- Qainuqa, and other groups. Some clearly
- and openly fought against the Prophet.
- They showed open hostility toward the
- Prophet and the Muslim community. Just
- like the Quraysh infidels. There was
- another group that just left the
- Prophet alone. But they did not help
- the Prophet either. They just let the
- Prophet suffer or whatever might happen
- . Like some groups among the Arabs.
- Some Arab groups, instead of helping
- Palestine, just let it happen. If
- Palestine were to gain independence
- quickly, all the Arabs, including the
- leaders of this world, could simply go
- to Palestine and demand its
- proclamation of independence. That
- would be the end of it, God willing. So
- , what about other events? Those other
- events surely have their own benefits.
- But actually, there are things more
- useful than dwelling on the past.
- It’s like if we have a school problem
- , a question for elementary students,
- for example.
- These students have a 1/2 meter line.
- 1/2 meter. How do you reduce that line?
- Making that line, uh, finished or
- shorter. Some try erasing it bit by bit
- , others blame whoever wrote the
- question, who wrote the paper, who
- taught the class, and so on. We get
- busy questioning why a problem like
- this even happened and so forth. There
- is a very wise approach: it's easy, for
- that 1/2 meter line to be weak, just
- draw a 1 meter line. Automatically,
- that 1/2 meter line will crumble on its
- own, becoming smaller. So, to defeat
- them, we don't need to bring up old
- things, but focus on doing our best to
- make Palestine's defense strong. Help
- with their weaponry, economy, and
- knowledge. Support them with the
- presence of presidents, especially from
- Arab nations, visiting there to declare
- that they truly support Palestinian
- independence. That is roughly how it
- goes. But I am not a person clever in
- those things. Perhaps later, let Habib
- Husin explain it. Faminhum. So, among
- them, those who pretend to be
- supportive inside. Some pretend to
- support Islam, like the Khuza'ah group
- or the Jews. There are others who are
- the opposite, like the Bani Bakr. These
- Bani Bakr, they are, uh, uh...
- Supporting the Prophet even though they
- aren't, uh, Muslim, in our terms.
- Waminhum man ana maahu zahiran wa
- aduuhu batinan. There is a certain
- group, now this one. Their exterior is
- with the Prophet, but inside they are
- actually with the Prophet's enemies.
- Wahum al-munafiqun. Now, these are the
- hypocrites, these Muslims. So, since
- the time of the Prophet, there were
- those who stabbed from within. On the
- outside, their ID says they are Muslim,
- joining the Prophet, but their hearts
- are hypocritical. Destroying Islam from
- the inside. Supporting the struggle of
- foreigners and the Jews of that time.
- Fakana awwal naqada al-ahd minal yahud
- Banu Qainuqa. The first to break and
- betray the peace treaty were the Jews
- of Banu Qainuqa, fahabahu. So the
- Prophet taught them a lesson, Banu
- Qainuqa, in Shawwal, after the Battle
- of Badr, fazalu al-hukm. So, because
- you have betrayed us, the Muslims,
- please move to Sham. Wa arada qatlahum
- fastauhabahum minhu Abdullah ibn Ubay.
- Actually, there was their negotiator,
- namely Abdullah bin Ubay. This Abdullah
- bin Ubay, uh, claimed to be Muslim and
- became the negotiator for the Jews. He
- helped the Jewish people. Because the
- Prophet respected Abdullah bin Ubay's
- efforts in negotiation and peace. The
- Prophet said, "Fine, if that's the case
- , let's not have a battle; just tell
- them to move." Wufaahu. Fawahabahum
- lahu wa akhrajahum minal Madinah dri'a
- ma ahda Banu Nadir. Then those who
- committed treason were the Banu Nadir.
- Huyayy ibn Akhtab. Then after that,
- those who committed treason were the
- Qurayza. God willing, may He be exalted
- . So, it was 6 months after the Battle
- of Badr occurred. The Prophet said, "
- Listen, O Jews, I and the Muslims do
- not need your wealth." Just take your
- wealth. Take your camels and your
- belongings. Belongings are things that
- can be carried. Take all the gold,
- silver, everything. Utensils, household
- goods, provisions, take it all. The
- goods and the wealth. Especially wealth
- like silver or gold, take it all with
- you. We do not need it. We need peace.
- We do not need illicit money. Even if
- their tax is 3 trillion or whatever it
- is a year, do we want that 3 trillion?
- 3 trillion a year. So, since long ago,
- the Prophet indeed held such an opinion
- . The important thing is peace. You
- must not carry weapons. Because if you
- carry weapons again, you might hurt
- others there later or organize forces
- again to hurt us once more. We must not
- give you the opportunity to be unjust
- to your fellow Jews, let alone be
- unjust to us, the Muslim community.
- Namely, the matter where He revealed
- about them, "Subhana-llahi 'ala
- al-Hashr." That is what was
- immortalized in the Qur'an, Surah
- Al-Hashr. And He fought and gave a firm
- lesson—the Prophet did—to them, the
- Banu Nadir, until they chose to be
- exiled. So, it is not like the
- disbelievers. Look at the Rohingya;
- they are shot, burned, and killed. But
- the Muslim community does not do that.
- Please, take your wealth, take your
- family, and we will escort you. You
- live over there, don't do it again.
- That is the Muslim community. If they
- kill Muslims, Islam is truly
- extraordinary. Because they have never
- lived in misery. Even though if they
- were smart, they could live in Ash-Sham
- and trade.
- It is just that, since childhood, they
- have always been pampered children.
- Once they are told to be independent,
- they cannot do it. That is why there
- used to be a banana philosophy. If a
- banana tree is allowed to pile up with
- its offshoots, it is less productive.
- Those many offshoots must be separated
- so that they can build an economy, a
- new economic defense, so that they can
- produce new offspring and new economic
- developments. And God is over them, now
- that is the matter of the People of the
- Scripture. Some are of the opinion,
- according to Ibn Ishaq—this opinion
- of Ibn Ishaq is supported by many—but
- there is a more accurate opinion later.
- There is another opinion, this Ibn
- Ishaq, Ibn Hawih is based on the Qur'an
- , Surah Al-Ahzab verse 26. Hm. Even
- though it is based on the Qur'an, Surah
- Al-Ahzab 26, there is actually a
- stronger opinion based on the Qur'an as
- well. "And He brought down those who
- supported them among the People of the
- Scripture from their fortresses." So
- God helped them, helped to defeat the
- People of the Scripture, so that with
- God's help they were able to come out
- of their fortresses. And He cast terror
- into their hearts regarding their
- safety. Then they chose to move, and
- after that, they did not want to kill
- and hurt the Muslim community again. As
- stated in Al-Ahzab 26. Although
- according to other scholars, this is a
- matter concerning the Banu Quraiza, of
- course. Meaning, what happened in the
- 5th year of Hijrah. Let’s continue
- first. Regarding the Ahzab, this is the
- more cautious view. A single line of
- reasoning. This is considered weak. The
- Banu Quraiza...The Ahzab. Because the
- Banu Quraiza initially helped the Jews
- and the Quraysh polytheists to kill the
- Prophet. Then Allah took pity, so Allah
- sent down His angels to help the
- struggle of the Muslims. ...[
- Transliterated source text segment]...
- Whereas the Banu Nadir, from the
- beginning, helped how the polytheists
- united to destroy Islam, its economy,
- and its power. But the one that played
- the biggest role during the Ahzab was
- the Banu Quraiza. Let’s continue with
- Abdillah bin Abi...According to Ibn
- Ishaq. Because later there are versions
- according to Ibn Mardawayh and Ibn
- Ishaq. What does Ibn Ishaq say?
- According to Ibn Ishaq, the event that
- led to the betrayal is as follows. Amir
- Tufail...Amr bin Umayyah. Amir bin
- Tufail liberated Amr bin Umayyah. After
- fighting whom? Amr bin Umayyah fought
- in Bi'r Ma'unah. ...[Transliterated
- source text segment]...Amr. Amr bin
- Umayyah, at one point, fought in Bi'r
- Ma'unah. ...[Transliterated source text
- segment]...In short, that was it. Then
- he went out to Medina...Then he met.
- After he faced the Bi'r Ma'unah event,
- he went to Medina. As he was heading to
- Medina, he crossed paths. With two men
- from the Banu Amir. Two men from the
- Banu Amir crossed paths with Amr bin
- Umayyah. Now, Amr bin Umayyah did not
- know that they had entered Islam, or
- that there was a pact with Prophet
- Muhammad, peace be upon him and his
- family.
- There was already a pact, a peace
- agreement at the very least.
- With them. With them, namely with the
- two men. There was a treaty. There was
- an agreement, a peace pact from the
- Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him,
- which Amr did not know about. So Amr...
- Bin Umayyah did not know that these two
- men already had a peace treaty with the
- Prophet. So he asked them. Amr asked
- them. Amr asked the two men, "Where are
- you two from?" They replied that they
- were from the Banu Amir. "We are from
- the Banu Amir," they said. Amr left
- them alone until they fell asleep.
- After the two men fell asleep, he
- killed them. Amr killed the two men.
- Who is Amr? And Amr thought...That...
- Amr believed. That he was fortunate.
- Why did he feel fortunate? For his
- companions. Because he felt he had
- avenged the treatment of the Banu Amir
- when they killed the companions of the
- Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him and
- his family.
- Then the Prophet, peace be upon him,
- was informed of that. Then the Prophet,
- peace be upon him, was told the story
- of the event. "You have killed..." Then
- the Prophet replied, "You have killed
- two people who actually should not have
- been killed."...[Transliterated source
- text segment]...In that case, let me
- take responsibility; I will pay the
- blood money for the deaths of these two
- men. Intaha. Well, we will tell the
- rest of the story after the Battle of
- Uhud. Let us first continue with the
- issue. Alhi wasallam. So, who went out?
- The Prophet (peace be upon him) went
- out. Because the Prophet intended to
- pay the blood money for the people
- killed by Amr ibn Umayyah. So the
- Prophet approached the Banu Nadir, the
- Jews. What was the purpose? Yastainu.
- To negotiate with whom? The Prophet
- asked the Banu Nadir for assistance in
- paying the blood money for the two men
- mentioned earlier. Fa hadasani Yazid
- Ibnu Ruman. This is the story according
- to Ibn Ishaq from Yazid bin Ruman.
- Wakana baina bani Nadir wa bani amir
- aqdun. Why? Because there was an
- agreement or alliance between the Banu
- Amir and the Banu Nadir. There was a
- pledge of loyalty, a kind of covenant.
- So, as fellow Jews, the Prophet asked
- them to convey the request to the Banu
- Amir so that the blood money payment
- could be facilitated and settled
- quickly. It was not a request for a
- discount, but rather to ensure the
- process was quick and accurate. No one
- would be harmed. Falamma atahum. After
- the Prophet arrived to meet them, the
- Banu Nadir, he sought their help to
- facilitate the disbursement of the
- blood money. Qolu, what did the Banu
- Nadir say? Those Jews of Banu Nadir.
- Naam. Yes, with pleasure. That is
- exactly what I was looking for. How
- could you get so close to us? But their
- goal was to kill him. Tumma khala, then
- they gathered and whispered to each
- other. Ba'duhum, who? Some of them
- whispered to others behind the scenes
- as they made a plan. Faqal, what did
- the Banu Nadir say? Innakum, O you Jews
- of Banu Nadir, innakum. Indeed, you.
- Lan tajiduhu, you will never find. Such
- an excellent opportunity like this,
- where Muhammad comes to us to negotiate
- the payment of blood money for his
- companions. When he arrives, let's
- finish him off. Qala, the narrator said
- , and the Prophet was sitting in that
- negotiation next to one of their walls.
- The Prophet was sitting next to the
- wall, and the Banu Nadir said according
- to their plan. Who will be the man who
- climbs up onto this house, who will
- take the task of climbing this wall?
- What was the purpose? To drop this
- large rock onto Muhammad. What was the
- purpose? To kill him with that rock. If
- Muhammad dies by being crushed by a
- large rock, we, the Banu Nadir, will be
- free from his message. Just look at
- that, it is truly extraordinary, and it
- has been proven by the person, the
- stone, and the entire reality of the
- execution. Fantadaba, so he carried out
- the throwing. Lidzalika Amru Juhas. Who
- was it? Amr ibn Jahsh. A Jew named Amr
- ibn Jahsh intended to drop a large rock
- onto the head of Prophet Muhammad.
- Sallallahu alaihi wasallam (peace be
- upon him). Amr ibn Jahsh bin Ka'b was
- the one. Before the moment of execution
- , the Prophet received news from the
- heavens. Allah conveyed to Angel
- Gabriel, "Hurry, Muhammad is about to
- be struck with a large rock.""Quickly,
- inform him." Faqama, so he immediately
- stood up. The Prophet moved quickly, as
- fast as lightning. He temporarily moved
- to Medina to save himself and his
- people. Annahu bahwasanya yaqdi hajatan
- . It seemed as if the Prophet had a
- very urgent matter. He immediately
- jumped up, waqashi. And the Prophet
- showed his intelligence, waqala, and
- said to his companions. "My companions,
- stay calm.""Do not let anyone move." He
- told his companions to stay still so
- the Jewish infidels wouldn't be
- suspicious. The Prophet immediately
- jumped up because of something urgent.
- Like someone who has a personal need. "
- I'll be right back," in our common
- language. La tabrahu. "You, my
- companions, do not move." The Prophet
- is truly extraordinary. What was the
- technique? Then waraja'a, and he
- returned. The Prophet, quickly, to
- where? Ilal Madinah. Heading to Medina.
- Fastabahu. They waited for a long time
- looking for him. Oh, the companions of
- the Prophet. Who were the Prophet's
- companions? "Where did the Prophet go?"
- "Why is it taking so long?" Faakbaru,
- then the other companions informed them
- that the Prophet tawajaha, meaning he
- had returned to Medina, falahiku, so
- the companions followed him. Finally,
- the companions asked for permission to
- follow the Prophet and returned. Faamar
- , then after that, the Prophet ordered
- to fight them. In this case, eventually
- , it was agreed, "You just move if
- that's the case.""Yes, please move from
- Medina towards Syria by fighting them."
- Wal masir ilaihim. "Go to them quickly.
- " Fatahasanu. They gathered, took
- shelter, and hid. Who were they? The
- Jews of Bani Nadir. Where? In those
- date palm trees. Faamar, then who
- ordered? The Prophet ordered to cut
- down the date trees that were not
- beneficial and were only used for the
- infidels' protection. Watahriq, and
- burn them. He was besieged by the
- Prophet for 6 days. Wakana, and there
- were nasun, a group of people from
- among the hypocrites who sent word to
- the Bani Nadir, "Anis butu," the
- hypocrites approached the Jewish
- infidels. "O Jewish infidels of Bani
- Nadir, just stay calm.""Anis butu, just
- stay there.""Watamnau, just fight back.
- " Fain qutiltum. "If you are killed,
- qotalna maakum.""I will be the one to
- face Muhammad and his troops."
- Astagfirullah (I seek forgiveness from
- Allah). Instead of helping the
- Prophet's struggle. They even swore to
- help the struggle of the Jews of Banu
- Qainuqa and others. They are fearful,
- feeling uneasy and anxious. Allah gives
- them that. Who is Allah? Within their
- hearts is a sense of fear. In the end,
- this hypocrite does not help. Why?
- Because he has a feeling of fear toward
- the honest Muslims. Hmm. Toward them,
- the Banu Nadir tribe. So, what did they
- ask for? To move out of Medina. So,
- upon their request, it was indeed
- permitted and allowed by Allah to leave
- Medina. The point is, any wealth that I
- can carry with a camel is permitted to
- be taken. Fine, I don't need the wealth
- . Muhammad ibn Maslama was sent by the
- Messenger of Allah. Then they were
- given 3 days. Some say 10 days. If you
- combine 3 and 6, it’s close. If you
- count it all up, it becomes 10 days.
- Ibn Ishaq says. Abdullah ibn Abi Bakr
- says. Their horses were taken, their
- crops were taken. He [the Prophet] sent
- them away; Yamin ibn Umayr and Abu
- Sa'id bin Wahb remained. So, not all
- Jewish people are wrong. Actually,
- there were some who were aware, like
- Yamin bin Umayr and Abu Sa'id bin Wahb,
- who protected their wealth. They made
- peace with the Prophet, and even
- converted to Islam; thus, they
- protected themselves and their wealth,
- finding happiness in this world and the
- hereafter. And Ibn Mardawih narrated.
- Earlier it was according to the account
- of Ibn Ishaq, now it is the account of
- Ibn Mardawih. If before it was the
- narration of Ibn Rahawih. Nadir.
- Abdullah ibn Abdurrahman bin Ka'b bin
- Malik, one of the companions of the
- Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant
- him peace. He wrote. Now, this is the
- reason for the next betrayal; the
- disbelievers of Quraysh wrote. Who are
- the Quraysh disbelievers? To Abdullah
- bin Ubay. They sent a letter, the
- Quraysh disbelievers to Abdullah bin
- Ubay. Abdullah bin Ubay was a
- hypocritical Muslim leader who loved to
- help the cause of the Quraysh
- disbelievers. To Abdullah bin Ubay and
- those who worshipped idols. Including
- those who worshipped idols before the
- Battle of Badr. They threatened them.
- They threatened—the Quraysh
- disbelievers threatened. The
- disbelievers threatened Abdullah bin
- Ubay and his friends, the idolaters,
- and all the People of the Book with
- what? By allowing, by giving space and
- the opportunity to live to the Prophet
- Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant
- him peace, and his companions. Why did
- you let Muhammad into Medina? Don't
- give him a chance to live, don't give
- him a place, finish him off. The
- Quraysh disbelievers said in their
- letter, and they threatened. And they
- promised, who? The Quraysh disbelievers
- . Them. To them, Abdullah bin Ubay and
- all the Jewish People of the Book who
- were in Medina. That they would soon
- fight the Muslims by uniting with all
- the Arabs who at that time were not yet
- Muslim. So he intended? With that, Ibn
- Ubay intended. Who? Ibn Ubay and his
- allies to fight the Muslims. With that,
- he was eager to kill the Muslims. Then
- came. Hearing about this plan from A1
- intelligence, the Prophet came to them.
- The Prophet Muhammad, may Allah bless
- him and grant him peace. The Prophet
- approached the leaders, Abdullah bin
- Ubay, and the Jews in Medina. Why are
- you provoked by the Quraysh infidels
- from Mecca who clearly intend to kill
- us? That will result in bloodshed among
- us, the people of Medina, in our terms.
- Why would you let yourselves be stirred
- up by another party, causing us to
- fight, perhaps among Muslims or between
- Muslims and others in this united
- country? After being given a convincing
- explanation by the Prophet to these
- infidels in Medina, some of the Medina
- infidels then became aware of the truth
- . Fatafarqu. Finally, some of them
- accepted the Prophet's explanation,
- even if they did not convert to Islam.
- Others remained stubborn and still
- wanted to kill the Prophet, becoming
- even more hateful. Falamma atat waqiatu
- Badrin katabat kuffaru Qurayshin ila
- Yahud. So the Quraysh infidels sent a
- letter to the Jews. Annakum ahlul
- halqah. Hey Jews, you have many friends
- and a large congregation. Wal husun,
- you have fortresses. Yatahaddadunahum.
- The Quraysh infidels were intimidating
- the infidels in Medina. You have a
- large following. Use them to finish off
- Muhammad and his companions. Fa'ajma'a
- Banu Nadir 'ala al-ghadri. Then Banu
- Nadir agreed to betray the Prophet, the
- Jews of Medina. In this case, Banu
- Nadir, due to the provocation of the
- Meccan Quraysh, genuinely intended to
- break their peace treaty with the
- Muslims and switch to killing them
- instead. Fa-arsalu ila an-Nabi
- sallallahu alaihi wasallam. So who was
- plotting a scheme? To the Prophet. To
- the Prophet, Muhammad sallallahu alaihi
- wasallam. "O Muhammad, send to us three
- of your companions," specifically three
- expert figures among your friends,
- Muhammad, for what? To face our
- scholars so we can hold a dialogue. The
- Prophet was being baited with an
- intellectual appeal. The Prophet was
- noble. Seizing the opportunity for
- dialogue, the Prophet simply agreed.
- Even though the point was to kill the
- Prophet, and to confront you, Muhammad.
- "Bring yourself and your three friends,
- and you will be presented to meet three
- of our scholars.""They will be met by
- our three scholars," the Jews said, "If
- they believe in you, Muhammad, then we
- will surely follow you." If our
- scholars acknowledge your truth, then
- we will follow. If not, well, the risk
- is that from the beginning, wanting to
- meet the Prophet was just to look for
- the Prophet's faults and flaws. So
- their hearts were indeed rotten.
- So it wasn't about seeking brotherhood,
- clarification, consultation, or
- maintaining ties out of a longing for
- fellow human beings. Fafa'ala, so the
- Prophet agreed. Fastamala, so the Jews
- provided the three people with daggers.
- The scholars were given skins or curved
- knives. Knives that were shaped like
- this.
- Double-edged.
- Wow. Fa-arsalat. Seeing such a plan,
- Allah sent the truth. So He dispatched.
- That is how Allah has a plan, they have
- a plan, and Allah foils it. Faarsalat,
- a woman sent a letter. Who is this
- woman? A Jewish woman from Banu Nadir.
- This woman sent a letter to her brother
- from the Ansar in Medina who had
- converted to Islam early on.
- Subhanallah. A woman sent a letter to
- her brother, a Muslim. She herself had
- not yet embraced Islam. But she could
- not bear to see Muslims, people being
- killed simply because their ID cards
- were different. One identified as
- Muslim, the other did not. She informed
- her brother about the plot of the Jews
- of Banu Nadir. Finally, her brother,
- who had converted to Islam, passed on
- the information. The brother told the
- Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)
- before the Prophet reached them. Before
- the Prophet arrived at the meeting, he
- was already warned. They were carrying
- knives; when the Prophet let his guard
- down, they would finish him off. So the
- Prophet departed. Wasbahum bil kataibi
- fahasarahum yaumahu. Then, early in the
- morning, the Prophet went with the
- cavalry. What is cavalry? Mounted
- troops. The Prophet besieged them that
- very day; if it were dawn, it would be
- early morning. If it were midday, it
- would be slightly later. Tumma wada ala
- Bani Quraidah. Immediately, the Prophet
- did not just besiege one person. It is
- like when authorities surround drug
- users or those caught in corruption.
- Not just one person, but all of them at
- once. At that time, the Prophet also
- besieged Banu Nadir. That same morning,
- the Prophet besieged Banu Quraidah.
- This is extraordinary. Faasarahum, then
- at midday the Prophet besieged Banu
- Quraidah. The Prophet besieged them,
- faahadu. Then did Banu Quraidah make a
- deal? "Let's just have peace, Prophet,
- I am not strong enough." Well, it was
- their own fault for playing with fire.
- Finally, they made peace with the
- Prophet, fansarfa. Because they asked
- for peace and a delay, the Prophet
- turned away. The Prophet left them and
- went where? To Banu Nadir. He besieged
- both of them. Faqatalahum. He gave them
- a firm lesson. The Prophet taught them,
- the Banu Nadir, until they relocated to
- Sham. They even took their house doors
- with them. This is what is meant in the
- Quran, Surah Al-Hashr verse 2. They
- built houses, but destroyed them with
- their own hands, those disbelievers.
- This is what is meant and immortalized
- in the Quran. I seek refuge in Allah
- from the accursed Satan. In the name of
- Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most
- Merciful. "Say to those who disbelieve,
- ' You will be overcome and gathered
- together to Hell, and wretched is the
- resting place. '" They once said, "If
- it was at Badr, they could not fight.
- That is why Muhammad and his companions
- easily defeated the Quraish
- disbelievers. If you want to defeat us,
- the Jews of Qaynuqa, Banu Nadir, and
- Quraidah, it is different. We are men,
- we will surely win. We know war tactics
- , we are strong." Then answered by
- Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala, "Ya
- ayyuhalladzina amanu udzkuru
- ni'matallahi' alaikum, ni'matallahi '
- alaikum.""O you who believe. Because
- you have won this battle, then have
- faith. Remain faithful to Allah. Next,
- udzkuru ni'matallah. Always dhikr and
- remember the favors of Allah upon you.
- Idz hamma, at a time when the story was
- that all the disbelievers, all the Jews
- , intended to unite. Ayabsutu ilaikum
- aidiyahum. Intending to kill you.
- Fakaffa aidiyahum. Then it was Allah
- who prevented and protected you, the
- Muslim community. Wattaqullah. Continue
- to fear Allah. Wa' alallahi
- falyatawakkalil mu'minun. Al-Ma'idah
- verse 11 and Ali 'Imran verse 12. When
- he beat his chest, saying we will
- definitely win. If they lose, it's
- because they don't know war tactics. So
- Allah says, do not be arrogant, sir.
- Qul lilladzina kafaru satughlabuna.
- Jahannamu mihad. Say to the
- disbelievers, you will be defeated. It
- is time for you to be defeated and
- weakened. Because if you are strong,
- you want to harm the Muslim community.
- Jahannam, it is time for you to be
- herded to Hell, and what a wretched
- resting place. And the worst of places
- to return to. Qad kana lakum ayatun fi
- fi'atain. There have been many lessons
- for two groups, namely the Muslims and
- the disbelievers. These are the two
- groups. Fi'atun tuqatilu fi sabilillah.
- One group fights to uphold the cause of
- Allah, the other is disbelieving. While
- the other is disbelieving in Him.
- Wallahi...still a little more, for the
- time being we will take a short break,
- wallahu a'lam bish-shawab. Ya Rabbana
- i'tarafna, bi annana i'tarafna, wa
- annana asrafna,' ala ladza asrafna.
- Fatub 'alaina taubatan taghsilu kulla
- haubah. Wastur lanal' aurati, Rabbi wa
- mawludina, wal ahli wal ikhwani,
- wasa'iril khillani, wa kulli dzi
- mahabbah, au jirati au suhbah. Wamnun '
- alaina bi wuddin ma nala bi-iktisabin
- minna. Bil Musthofa Rasuli, nahdzu bi
- kulli suuli. Salla wa sallama Rabbi'
- alaihi 'adadal habbi, wal hamdu lillahi
- fil bad'i wat-tanahi. O Allah, we
- confess that we are sinful, we have
- exceeded the limits, we almost slipped.
- Grant us forgiveness, cleanse all our
- disgrace. Cover our shortcomings, O
- Allah. Secure what we fear. Forgive our
- parents, our children, our relatives
- and brothers, as well as all friends
- and those we love, neighbors or
- companions, and all Muslims. Amen.
- Accept my hope solely through Your
- grace and glory, not because of our own
- efforts. Through the status of
- Al-Mustafa, may Allah bless him and his
- family, grant our requests. Blessings
- and peace may Allah bestow upon the
- Messenger of Allah, as numerous as the
- grains of clouds. Praise be to Allah
- from beginning to end.
- Radio Silaturahim and Rasul TV for a
- united Islam. Brothers and sisters.
- That was the explanation delivered by
- Ustaz Ahmad Sanusi in this study of the
- Fathul Bari book, specifically hadith
- Bukhari number 4029. And perhaps we can
- proceed directly to the second session.
- Ustaz, there are some incoming
- questions, let me read them. The first
- is from Mrs. Sumarni, Ustaz.
- Assalamu'alaikum warahmatullahi
- wabarakatuh.
- Wa'alaikumussalam.
- Ustaz, excuse me, I would like to ask
- something that might be off-topic. What
- is the ruling on asking for Ruqyah, and
- did the Prophet ever do it, Ustaz?
- Yes.
- That is the first one. The second one,
- the name is not mentioned. Peace be
- upon you, and Allah's mercy and
- blessings, Ustaz.
- And peace be upon you.
- Why do various different understandings
- of Islam occur? Even though they come
- from one source, namely the Messenger
- of Allah, peace be upon him.
- Whereas everyone assumes their
- understanding is in accordance with
- what the Messenger taught.
- Yes.
- And the last one just now is to ask for
- an explanation of Surah Al-Baqarah
- verse 174. Al-Baqarah verse 174. Ustaz.
- Al-Baqarah.
- 174.
- 174. Is that enough?
- Yes, that's enough, Ustaz. In the name
- of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most
- Merciful. Number one, regarding the
- issue of Ruqyah. The companion. Uthman
- bin Abi al-As is a very famous
- companion. He passed away during the
- time of the Caliph, the companion
- Muawiyah. May Allah be pleased with
- them both. Once, he complained to the
- Prophet about a pain he felt in his
- body since he became Muslim. Since
- becoming Muslim, he felt pain and then
- reported it to the Prophet Muhammad.
- Peace be upon him. The Messenger of
- Allah, peace be upon him. So the
- Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him,
- said," Place your hand on the part of
- your body that hurts. "Where do you
- feel the pain? Whether it's in the
- chest or somewhere else, place your
- hand on the place that hurts. Then say,
- " In the name of Allah, the Most
- Gracious, the Most Merciful. "Say" In
- the name of Allah, the Most Gracious,
- the Most Merciful "three times. Then
- say," I seek refuge... "seven times." I
- seek refuge in the might of Allah and
- His power from the evil of what I feel
- and what I fear. "Seven times." What I
- feel and what I fear. "In Indonesian,
- if you don't memorize the Arabic, it is
- okay to use Indonesian. I seek refuge
- in Allah. I ask for Allah's help
- through His power and majesty from
- every disease that is bothering me.
- That is how we would say it. This is
- Hadith Bukhari 985. If in Muslim it is
- 2202. So, if there was a question
- earlier, what if someone asks for
- Ruqyah? Just do Ruqyah yourself. Ruqyah
- yourself. Recite Bismillah. Then if you
- don't memorize that, recite it in
- Indonesian. If not, please add Ayat
- al-Kursi yourself. How can you not
- memorize Ayat al-Kursi? If you still
- memorize that, recite from the Quran,
- Surah Al-Baqarah.
- The last verses of Al-Baqarah.
- Namely 284 until the end. Meaning 286,"
- To Allah belongs whatever is in the
- heavens and whatever is in the earth...
- "That is usually recited in NU mosques
- during collective dhikr after prayers
- and so on. So, the benefits of that
- dhikr are actually great for Ruqyah
- after prayer. So we are truly clean and
- not afraid of humans, let alone the
- disturbances of devils. Added with the
- Al-Mu'awwidhat, namely" Qul huwallahu
- ahad "and so on," Qul a'udhu birabbil
- falaq, "" Qul a'udhu birabbin-nas. "So
- you can do Ruqyah yourself, no need to
- go far, taking up time, having to pay,
- and so on. Next, the second one, why
- are there various kinds? Why.
- Various?
- Various kinds, yes. Because actually,
- there aren't various kinds. If people
- were smart and conveyed it as it is,
- there would be no need to add anything.
- Because now, people at any level like
- to add things. Currently, there is a
- rumor circulating that cat urine and
- feces are not impure.
- Even the cat itself is confused.
- One says it is impure. Any animal whose
- meat cannot be eaten, the rule of thumb
- according to one side is that if an
- animal's meat cannot be eaten, then
- automatically its droppings and urine
- are impure. The other side says that
- cat urine and droppings are not impure.
- Not impure. The cat is confused, left
- and right, is it impure or not? Is it
- impure or not? Which one is correct?
- The correct one is the Quran. Ustaz,
- those two people are both incorrect.
- Now look at it this way. If the rule is
- that if the meat cannot be eaten it's
- not impure, that means...
- camel dung, goat urine, goat dung, cow
- dung, horse dung, please go ahead and
- eat it. Well,
- that's the point, isn't it? Its meat
- can be eaten, chicken droppings can be
- eaten, it's not impure,
- it doesn't invalidate prayer. Ah,
- that's one thing. Second, those who say
- it's not impure, well, that's already
- certain. Try looking at the answer in
- the Quran, Surah Al-A'raf. If the
- Prophet mentioned it in Muslim or
- Bukhari, the Prophet once said if you
- are truly in an emergency, rather than
- dying, please, even camel urine, if
- someone is with you drinking its milk,
- it's fine, it's an emergency.
- Death.
- That A is essentially like that. Please
- check Bukhari Fathul Bari. Please check
- and match it with the Quran, Surah
- Al-A'raf, chapter 7, verse 157.
- Auzubillahiminasyaitanirrajim.
- Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. And who makes
- lawful? Allah for them, good and
- wholesome foods. My question is, is cat
- waste good and wholesome? Are we being
- reasonable, or is this not known by
- doctors? And He makes unlawful, Allah
- upon them the filthy, dirty, impure,
- and foul things. That is extraordinary.
- Combine such verses with the Quran. If
- earlier it was A'raf 157, Al-An'am
- verse 145, Al-Baqarah verse 173, in a
- state of emergency...
- emergency.
- Emergency. That is extraordinary. So
- that is an example. Maybe another time,
- time is running out. What about the
- next question, the last one, Al-Baqarah
- , right?
- Yes, Ustaz.
- Al-Baqarah, then we will add a little
- bit later. Al-Baqarah which one?
- 174, Ustaz. Al-Baqarah, the second
- surah, verse 174.
- Auzubillahiminasyaitanirrajim.
- Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. Indeed, those
- who conceal...what Allah has revealed
- in the Book. Those who hide the
- contents of the Quran, do not convey it
- , do not practice it. Why do they
- conceal it? Because they usually have
- worldly interests. Ah, if they've been
- given a donation, only then does the
- forbidden act become forbidden. Wait,
- no, it's not forbidden.
- It's not that at first it's forbidden,
- then once given an envelope...
- it becomes soft.
- Yes, soft. Previously, that disbeliever
- was a disbeliever. Those are the ones
- who consume the fire of hell in their
- bellies. Those are the ones who eat
- hellfire in their bellies. And this
- verse is not to forbid people who
- receive an envelope. If they are given,
- for example, forgive me, if someone is
- teaching and is given what is given
- sincerely, just accept it. If you're
- not given anything, there's no problem,
- right?
- What is meant here is clearly
- exchanging the truth for falsehood. W
- yukallimuhumullah yaumalqiamah. Allah
- will not look at them with mercy, those
- who sell their faith for a small price,
- and will not purify them. Allah will
- not approve of them. Allah leaves their
- sins unwashed by Allah Subhanahu wa
- ta'ala. That is what is meant by not
- purifying them. Walahum adzabun alim.
- So it is not meant that Allah does not
- purify them. Allah is not pleased to
- wipe away their sins. After all, those
- are their own sins. Let them be
- responsible for them. If they are not
- held responsible, it is unfair to those
- who were wronged. Walahum adzabun alim.
- Al-Baqarah 174. Let us continue a
- little bit. Yes. Ustaz.
- Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. A bit faster.
- Ya ayyuhalladzina amanu. The words of
- Abdullah bin Ubay. When Abdullah bin
- Ubay was invited by the Quraysh
- infidels to kill the Prophet and his
- companions, he came to Ubadah bin Somit
- . Ubadah bin Somit was in the same
- position as Abdullah bin Ubay. He had a
- hand in helping the struggle of the
- Banu Nadir Jews. But Ubadah bin Somit
- realized and then repented. I do not
- want to be involved in things like that
- anymore. I would rather be close to
- Muhammad, close to Islam, and close to
- the Qur'an. Meanwhile, Abdullah bin
- Ubay bin Salul remained undermining
- Islam. That is the difference. Finally,
- he was rejected by Ubadah bin Somit.
- Then Allah explained, why did Abdullah
- bin Ubay keep struggling with two feet?
- One foot with the Jewish infidels, and
- the other pretending to be Muslim.
- Because he assumed and feared a
- disaster. Antusibana dairah. Worrying
- that at any moment the Muslims might
- lose. Yes.
- If they lose and the Jews win, he would
- get a seat like a minister or some
- position. So that is what was
- immortalized. Let us continue with
- Abdullah bin Ubay. Muhammad inahum
- aswad. Umun. Abbas rasulullahu alaihi
- wasallam quraisan badrin. When the
- gathered, when they gather, eh, who was
- the Prophet? When gathered, who were
- the Jews? The Jews of the Banu Qainuqa.
- After the Battle of Badr, the Prophet
- gathered the Jews at the Banu Qainuqa
- market. The Prophet said," I apologize,
- we wish for those who are willing not
- to disturb us after this, we would be
- pleased. "But starting from now, let us
- not disturb one another so that
- incidents like what happened in the
- Battle of Badr, where we had to fight
- as fellow citizens, do not happen again
- . In our language, that was the Prophet
- . Faqala ya yahud. What? What are you
- saying, Muhammad? You are a
- blabbermouth. In our language, he did
- not know war, while we are warriors, we
- are brave people. He was so arrogant.
- Then Allah said," Faanzalallahu
- taalazina kafaru satuglabuna. "
- Oh my. Ali' Imran verse 12 earlier.
- Perhaps for now, if we read it, please
- read the complete Al-Ma'idah verses 51
- to 58 yourself to remind us not to
- follow their struggles. Then Allah said
- ," If we always follow their footsteps
- and struggles, the infidels, Allah said
- , Allah ya ayyuhalladzina amanu minkum
- yartadda... ""...al-mu'minin. "Allah
- will replace them with creatures who
- are humble." Adillah "means those who
- are lowly and submissive. He fully
- supports the struggle of the believers.
- He is firm in his stance toward the
- disbelievers. He will stand firm in
- speaking the truth, fearing no blame
- from those who criticize. Wallahu alim.
- Subhanakallahumma bihamdik nashadu alla
- ilahailla anta nastagfirik.
- Assalamualaikum warahmatullah
