- Rasil TV for a united Islam.
- Peace be upon you, and Allah's mercy
- and blessings. Praise be to Allah, Lord
- of the worlds, and the final outcome is
- for the righteous. I bear witness that
- there is no god but Allah, alone,
- without partner, and I bear witness
- that Muhammad is His servant and
- messenger. O Allah, send prayers,
- greetings, and blessings upon our
- master Muhammad and upon all his family
- and companions. Furthermore. Indeed,
- Allah the Almighty has said in the
- Noble Quran. I seek refuge in Allah
- from the accursed Satan. In the name of
- Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most
- Merciful. Indeed, Allah is not ashamed
- to present an example, that of a
- mosquito or what is above it. And as
- for those who believe, they know that
- it is the truth from their Lord. But as
- for those who disbelieve, they say, "
- What did Allah intend they say," What
- did Allah intend by this as an example?
- "He misleads thereby thereby, and He
- misleads none except the defiantly
- disobedient. Those who break the
- covenant of Allah after confirming it,
- and sever that which Allah has ordered
- to be joined, and sever that which
- Allah has ordered to be joined. It is
- they who are the losers. Allah the
- Almighty has spoken the truth.
- Listeners and viewers of Rasil TV who
- are honored by Allah subhanahu wa
- ta'ala. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the
- worlds. Tonight, we are able to meet
- again in order to study the holy Quran
- through the study of Ulumul Quran based
- on thematic interpretation, where on
- this occasion we will continue the
- discussion about Amsalul Quran, which
- are the truly amazing parables within
- the Noble Quran that are certainly very
- valuable lessons for us as believers,
- as people who fear Allah subhanahu wa
- ta'ala, to increase our faith, to
- increase our conviction, to increase
- our piety to Allah with an
- understanding of, specifically, the
- Amsal Quran, namely the parables in the
- Quran. Last week we discussed the Amsal
- Quran, namely in Surah Al-Baqarah
- verses 17 to verse 20 which explains
- about the parables of the hypocrites
- where two parables are explained. The
- first is like someone who lights a fire
- . The second is like one, like someone
- struck by heavy rain. Now, the
- hypocrites considered those lessons too
- high, too great, too noble. So it was
- revealed, this verse of Al-Baqarah
- verse 26, as an answer, in the sense
- that Allah explains about Amsalul Quran
- , very simple examples, but of course
- we return to the fact that this Amsal
- Quran is different from parables in the
- Indonesian language, parables in the
- Indonesian language are easy to digest,
- easy to understand. But this Amsal
- Quran certainly needs good
- understanding, needs reflection, needs
- study. including the previous verse
- which explains that the hypocrites are
- also among the disbelievers who are
- unable to utilize the presence of the
- holy Quran. The Quran is guidance. The
- Quran is light. The Quran is a light
- that illuminates life. Then when this
- Quran, which is already a complete 30
- juz and has been officially compiled,
- in various countries in this world,
- including in Indonesia. But when that
- Quran is intact, not touched, not read,
- not studied, then surely the presence
- of that Quran is not beneficial. Now,
- those are the signs of the hypocrites
- who are unable to utilize the presence
- of the Quran. But conversely, surely we
- as pious people who believe in Allah,
- believe in the Messenger sallallahu
- alayhi wasallam, believe in the Quran,
- then we also certainly continue to
- strive to take the largest portion from
- the presence of the holy Quran. Also,
- of course, this parable serves as an
- answer to the hypocrites, which is in
- the word of Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala
- in Surah Al-Baqarah verse 26, Allah
- says: *auzubillahi
- minash-shaytanir-rajim, innallaha la
- yastahyi ay-yadriba masalan ma
- ba'udatan fama fauqaha. *Indeed, Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala is not ashamed to
- set forth a parable in the form of a*
- ba'udah*(a mosquito), *fama fauqaha*(or
- something larger, or even smaller).
- This is a parable that certainly we, as
- Muslims, as explained in the subsequent
- verse. Fa-ammallazina amanu faya'lamuna
- annahul-haqqu mir-rabbihim. So, for
- those who believe, they know that the*
- ba'udah*, that parable, is truly,
- genuinely a lesson from Allah Subhanahu
- wa ta'ala. In the context of this verse
- , we understand that the*ba'udah*, yes,
- Allah created the mosquito as a parable
- . On one hand, indeed the mosquito is
- small, with various forms, yes. In fact
- , if we reflect, due to the existence
- of these mosquitoes, many people become
- wealthy from what? By establishing
- mosquito repellent factories. Yes, this
- is an example that mosquito repellent
- factories stand because these
- mosquitoes exist. Although we should
- understand that in the context of this
- verse, it provides a lesson, making it
- a reflection for us as believers who
- fear Allah. Certainly, behind all that,
- there is a secret, a wisdom that we
- need to grasp, especially in the
- context of knowing the power of Allah,
- the greatness of Allah Subhanahu wa
- ta'ala. Let us imagine that small
- mosquito, how big its eyes are, how big
- its ears are, how big its heart is, and
- so on. And mosquitoes, of course, are
- not far from our lives. Almost
- everywhere in our respective homes,
- there must be mosquitoes, yes,
- including where I live, with various
- types and sizes. Now, this is something
- we need to reflect on, especially to
- understand the greatness of Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala who is the Creator,
- the All-Willing. But on one hand, the
- mosquito is a creature of Allah, and we
- humans are also creatures of Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala. in the sense that
- we understand the entirety of it.
- Especially if we realize that in this
- life, there is an ecosystem, we need
- each other. And we, if we study not
- just mosquitoes, other creations of
- Allah mentioned in the Holy Qur'an,
- especially*Al- 'Ankabut*(the spider),
- there is*an-naml*(the ant), there is*
- an-nahl*(the bee), and so on, if we
- reflect, it is an ecosystem, a cycle of
- life that we need to contemplate, right
- ? Meaning that this life requires
- mutual need and mutual giving. Although
- at that level there are specific limits
- , this is also a lesson for us as
- humans. As ferocious as a tiger is, for
- example, it only takes enough to
- satisfy its hunger. Once it gets one,
- that is enough. It is impossible for a
- tiger, for example, to eat a deer or
- other prey by catching several of them
- at once. No. But it is different with
- humans, without realizing it, sometimes
- greed arises. This is certainly what
- differentiates us from animals. Yet
- humans are given intellect by Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala which must be used
- to the maximum, perfectly, so that with
- that intellect, humans may observe
- Allah's creations. Especially the
- parable in this verse, to be used as a
- subject of reflection for us. Even
- though a mosquito, in that context, is
- perhaps just a mosquito, a creature
- that certainly holds no power at all.
- If we catch it, we kill it and it dies
- just like that. But surely, we also
- realize that perhaps in the past, every
- mosquito that passed by, we would just
- kill it, right. Yes, hopefully by
- understanding this verse, now let us
- not simply donate our blood to
- mosquitoes. But at the very least, talk
- to it first," O mosquito, do not
- disturb me yet, okay. I want to sleep
- first. "Now, after I am fast asleep,
- please go ahead and bite me. This is an
- ethic toward the mosquitoes that Allah
- created. We must not indiscriminately
- kill Allah's creations. That is on one
- hand, this provides a lesson for us,
- that this verse gives an example to us
- as believers who are pious, that by
- observing Allah's creation, it will
- provide the conviction to increase our
- closeness to Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala.
- This is certainly different from the
- disbelievers and the hypocrites. Wa
- amalladzina kafaru fayaquluna madza
- aradallahu bihadza matsalan. And as for
- the disbelievers, they say," What does
- Allah mean by creating this parable? "
- What is it for? Why did Allah create
- the mosquito (baudah) anyway? Like that
- . That is how the disbelievers ask. But
- as believers, we accept that it is
- Allah's creation. It has a hidden
- wisdom that we certainly do not know.
- Perhaps one day, with research, with
- scientific study, there are surely so
- many benefits from the presence of
- mosquitoes. At the very least, oh, it
- turns out the mosquito is a food source
- for house lizards, for example. This
- provides a benefit, right, that the
- presence of mosquitoes is food for
- lizards. But the disbelievers ask, what
- did Allah create that mosquito for?
- yudillu bihi katsiran wa yahdi bihi
- katsiran through the event of the
- mosquito parable, many people are led
- astray. Many people also receive
- guidance. Those led astray include the
- hypocrites and the disbelievers. And
- those who receive guidance are the
- believers, the faithful. Wama yudillu
- bihi illal fasiqin. And none are led
- astray by it except the defiantly
- disobedient, except those who are
- rebellious, who depart from Islamic
- sharia, who depart from obedience to
- Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. Listeners
- and viewers of Rasul TV who are honored
- by Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. This is
- certainly a lesson for us all. Allah
- gives a parable with this verse, namely
- the mosquito, which, if linked
- logically with the previous verses,
- related to kindling a fire and the
- pouring rain from the sky, these are
- examples regarding guidance, light,
- faith, and creed. Now, this relates to
- how weak the idol worship practiced by
- the disbelievers is, that is, through
- the idols they worshipped, especially
- in the era of the Age of Ignorance in
- Arabia. Idols are considered something
- lowly. A mosquito is considered
- something lowly. But actually, behind
- that, for us as believers, we take the
- lesson of how to remain guided by the
- light of Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala in
- this temporary life. Therefore, let us
- surely make use of the guidance that
- Allah has bestowed upon us all to
- regulate our way of life. Maximizing
- the guidance that Allah has given us.
- Including our five senses, which are a
- gift from Allah. Let us use our five
- senses; our sight, our hearing, let us
- maximize them to fill this life with
- worship to Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala.
- Also the guidance of intellect, the
- intellectual guidance that Allah has
- given us. We must utilize and maximize
- our intellect so that we are always
- able to communicate with Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala at any moment, at
- any time. Which certainly requires
- continuous, consistent practice,
- including how we can train our devotion
- in prayer, can train our focus in
- reading the Quran using the 2 MTH
- method. Yes, this is a method for
- reading the Quran and also for prayer,
- the 2 MTH method. Eyes see, mouth reads
- , ears listen, and heart reflects. It
- is a concept. Meaning, how to use the
- gift of intellect Allah gave us to
- study religious guidance, which takes
- the form of the holy Quran. This
- includes our reading in tonight's study
- of Surah Al-Baqarah verses 26 and 27
- which provide information to us that in
- principle, whatever Allah creates
- surely contains many secrets and wisdom
- behind that creation. Whether it is
- smaller than a mosquito or larger. And
- we also see, especially in Indonesia,
- we are given a bounty by Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala that is truly
- abundant. Even the fish in the ocean,
- for example, are another form of
- example that will not run out even if
- caught every day, taken every day from
- the wealth of the sea. That is also a
- sign of Allah's greatness, an example
- of the power of Allah Subhanahu wa
- ta'ala. Allah created the ocean, which
- is magnificent and very deep. Even what
- we need to ponder as well is the power
- and greatness of Allah. Within the
- ocean as well there are volcanoes,
- especially in our country, Indonesia.
- It shows the greatness of Allah, which
- logically does not make sense. Why? Oh,
- in the cold sea, it turns out there are
- volcanoes that are very hot yet do not
- extinguish. Now, this shows the
- greatness of Allah and the creations of
- Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. Even more
- amazing for us, the Indonesian people,
- there is a verse we all know, which we
- are familiar with in Surah At-Tur verse
- 6. wal bahril masjur. And in the sea,
- there are blazing volcanoes. This verse
- was revealed in Mecca. 1,400 years ago.
- But it was only a few decades ago,
- around 2001 to 2004, that research was
- conducted, specifically by LIPI, of
- course. In the context of Indonesia,
- volcanoes were discovered on the seabed
- , quite a large number of them, off the
- coast of Sumatra, Java, and North
- Sulawesi. In fact, yesterday there was
- more information that there are also
- some in Maluku. That shows that on one
- hand, those volcanoes are abundant in
- Indonesia. There are few in Japan, and
- none in other places. Now, this is
- certainly food for thought for us.
- Surely behind all that lie many secrets
- and wisdom, clearly showing that Allah
- has bestowed such great blessings,
- especially upon us, the Indonesian
- people. Then we return again to the
- Parables of the Quran. These parables
- in the Quran serve as examples for us.
- Let us not be among those who are
- hypocrites. By studying these Quranic
- parables, the goal is that we are
- always able to draw closer to Allah
- Subhanahu wa Taala. We are able to take
- lessons from the creatures that Allah
- created, including mosquitoes. Yes,
- perhaps in our place, there are ants,
- yes, with their various shapes, with
- their various colors; some are very
- small, some are rather large, some are
- large. Likewise with mosquitoes, they
- are all around us. They are creations
- of Allah Subhanahu wa Taala and they
- too, yes, are creatures of Allah
- Subhanahu wa Taala. We humans are also
- among the creatures of Allah Subhanahu
- wa Taala. The only difference is that
- as humans, Allah has given us our minds
- . Allah gave us our hearts to utilize,
- to maximize so we can examine and
- digest the presence of Allah's
- creatures that are before us, that are
- around us, so that we realize how we
- can organize our lives to always be
- close to Allah Subhanahu wa Taala. We
- also strive to be a part of those who
- continue the struggle of Prophet
- Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam.
- Becoming a mercy to all creation.
- Becoming a mercy for the world around
- us. How we are able to spread Islamic
- values. How we are able to spread
- positive values, values of goodness.
- Whoever we are, whatever our profession
- , whatever our job, we must be able to
- spread Islamic values and values of
- compassion. This is what is gained from
- the benefit of studying Quranic
- parables specifically related to
- Allah's creation. in this case, a
- mosquito. But with this mosquito
- parable, we indeed know many victims,
- humans, die because of mosquito bites.
- That is certainly the negative side;
- the positive side is surely abundant.
- It means that when we are able to live
- cleanly, mosquitoes will certainly not
- be numerous in our homes. If we clean
- our houses, clean our rooms, clean our
- bathrooms, that is how we can view our
- lives, view our lives with a clean life
- . God willing, surely our lives will
- also be clean. So for the believer,
- this verse provides even greater
- guidance. the guidance of Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala. But for those who
- are disbelievers, including those who
- are wicked, it will only increase their
- deviation. Why? Because alladzina
- yanquduna ahdallahi min ba'di mitsaqihi
- . The wicked, those who disobey, and
- those who turn away from Islamic
- teachings are alladzina yanquduna
- ahdallahi min ba'di mitsaqihi. They are
- those who break the covenant with Allah
- after that covenant has been firmly
- established. In the context of this
- verse, it explains that disbelievers,
- including the hypocrites, are people
- who break the covenant with Allah,
- which requires them to believe in Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala and worship Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala. Ta'ala as they had
- pledged, because fundamentally, humans
- back in the realm of souls promised
- that they would only believe in Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala and only worship
- Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. But when
- humans are born into this world, they
- come with various backgrounds. Some are
- born as non-Muslims, for instance, or
- some are born into Islamic families.
- Now, in the context of this verse, all
- humans have been given reason by Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala to seek the truth.
- But due to human desires and greed,
- they forget that covenant. They even
- break their covenant with Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala. This includes
- believing in Allah and believing in the
- messengers of Allah. This means that
- the wicked who refuse to observe
- Allah's creation, such as the mosquito
- mentioned earlier, are among those who
- have gone astray. One of their
- deviations is their refusal to take
- lessons from Allah Subhanahu wa
- ta'ala's creations, especially
- concerning this mosquito parable. Wa
- yaqta'una ma amarallahu bihi ayyushala.
- And they also sever, yes, that which
- Allah has commanded to be joined. This
- includes the context of how we should
- maintain ties of kinship with our
- relatives, friends, and siblings. In
- this context, the wicked and the
- disbelievers do not wish to maintain
- these bonds. This is especially related
- to historical context, where the
- polytheists of the Quraish disbelievers
- denied Prophet Muhammad sallallahu
- alaihi wasallam, effectively breaking
- this holy, innate covenant. This. In
- the sense that the wicked, besides
- breaking their covenant with Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala, also sever all
- that Allah has commanded to be joined,
- including acts of worship like prayer;
- disbelievers do not perform them. Also
- wa yufsiduna fil ard, and they always
- create corruption on this earth. They
- do not just ruin nature, but also
- destroy the land and the life that
- should have been full of peace, full of
- tranquility, and full of prosperity for
- humanity. But we see this in the
- current context, not just in past
- history, but what has been happening
- lately. Look at the Middle East, for
- instance, where in this modern era,
- wars and civil wars still occur. Some
- sow discord, including what happened in
- Myanmar with the Rohingya; this is part
- of the yufsiduna fil ard committed by
- the disbelievers. Ulaika humul khasirun
- . They are among the losers. Because
- fundamentally, if humans do not utilize
- the presence of Allah Subhanahu wa
- ta'ala's guidance in their lives, then
- they will be at a loss. Why? Because
- their lives will certainly not be
- peaceful. As even described in the
- previous verse, humans living without
- this holy Quran are in layers of
- darkness. This is a lesson for us, a
- warning for us so that our lives do not
- end up in darkness. Living without the
- Quran means living in darkness. It is
- not just for non-Muslims; even for
- those of us who are Muslim but perhaps
- only by name, if the Quran is never
- touched, we must be careful not to be
- among those who are" fi dulumatin la
- yubsirun, "in darkness and unable to
- see. Listeners and Pis TV viewers who
- are honored by Allah Subhanahu wa
- ta'ala. This verse is certainly a
- valuable lesson for us. Do not let us
- be among the hypocrites. Do not let us
- be among those who are defiant. Because
- , on the basic principle, people who
- believe, people who are pious to Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala, are those who take
- many lessons from the presence of the
- holy Quran, including taking lessons
- from the bearer of the holy Quran,
- namely Prophet Muhammad sallallahu
- alaihi wasallam. In this context, it
- means we must continue to strive so
- that in our short life, which is only
- this brief, we are able to fill it with
- positive values. Do not be influenced
- by the world. Because we both know that
- right now many humans are deceived by
- the world. Many humans defend what is
- wrong. Many humans defend what is not
- right. Automatically, when a person’s
- position is to defend what is not right
- , their life, cannot be peaceful. Even
- if overflowing with wealth, it will not
- be peaceful; they are also among the
- losers. In this context, it means how
- we organize our lives so that our lives
- are peaceful, so that our lives are
- serene, so that we live calmly. We must
- return to the fact that what we obtain
- is the result of our hard work, our
- hard work efforts that are done in a
- way that is halal and thayyib. This
- must certainly be a principle for us:
- that which is not our right, we have no
- right to take. This is a very valuable
- lesson. Do not let us be among those
- who ruin this earth, who ruin ourselves
- by mortgaging our faith, by mortgaging
- our knowledge. This is an effort so
- that in traversing this short life, we
- do not end up at a loss. Therefore, one
- of our efforts is how we continue to
- hold onto the principles of our
- covenant with Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala
- until the end of our lives, which is to
- worship Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala by
- striving to improve the quality of our
- worship from the days we pass through.
- Let us improve, let us introspect, let
- us evaluate ourselves every night
- before sleep. For instance, before we
- rest, let us evaluate ourselves first,
- let us introspect ourselves first.
- Including through this verse is a
- lesson for us on how we can improve our
- insights, our knowledge, especially in
- our understanding of this holy Quran.
- Let us keep improving. Because the
- Qur'an is so vast. We also try to delve
- into this holy book, the Qur'an. How
- can we, at the end of our lives, gain
- many benefits from understanding this
- holy Qur'an. Besides, of course, we
- must increase our reading of it. This
- is one of the efforts to hold firm to
- our promise to Allah. Yes, subhanallah.
- The holy Qur'an is so vast in providing
- insight and information. And surely
- what is even more meaningful is that we
- can communicate when we read these
- verses of the Qur'an. Because the
- Qur'an is alive and provides motivation
- to us, its readers. This is one of our
- self-introspection efforts. Although
- there is a concept we might want to
- apply, which is also good, namely the
- concept of reading the Qur'an
- translation in increments. One or two
- verses. Before resting, before sleeping
- , we read one or two verses of the
- Qur'an with its translation and
- commentary, and we do it in increments:
- one night 2 verses, 1 month 60 verses,
- 2 months 120 verses, continuing until a
- year means around 600 verses. Our
- perspective will be very broad. Our
- knowledge will also be very vast. And
- we will surely be amazed at the
- greatness of this holy Qur'an, at the
- miracles of the Qur'an. And we will
- surely be even more amazed at the
- Creator, Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala, for
- providing guidance through this holy
- Qur'an. Let us introspect ourselves,
- including our Qur'an reading. We have
- prayers in maintaining silaturahim. How
- to make it deep and close to our lives,
- within the parables of the Qur'an, is a
- blessing that Allah has given to us,
- the Indonesian nation. Therefore, let
- us understand Surah Al-Baqarah, as the
- verses of the Qur'an can illuminate our
- lives.
