- Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be
- upon you. All praise is due to Allah;
- we praise Him, seek His help, and seek
- His forgiveness. We seek refuge in
- Allah from the evil of our souls and
- our bad deeds. Whoever Allah guides,
- none can misguide, and whoever He leads
- astray, none can guide. I bear witness
- that there is no god but Allah, alone
- without partner, and I bear witness
- that Muhammad is His servant and
- messenger. Whatever Allah wills happens
- , and whatever He does not will does
- not happen. There is no power or
- strength except by Allah, the Exalted,
- the Almighty. To proceed. Brothers and
- sisters, viewers of Silaturahim TV and
- listeners of Silaturahim Radio who are
- dearly loved by Allah Subhanahu wa
- Ta'ala. Praise be to Allah, tonight we
- can reconnect through the literal Quran
- translation study. Last Friday night,
- we reached verse 52 of Surah Ali Imran.
- God willing, tonight until just before
- Isha, we will continue with the
- following verses. Certainly, starting
- from verse 53. For that, let us begin
- our study by reciting the prayer for
- seeking knowledge together. In the name
- of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most
- Merciful. O my Lord, increase me in
- knowledge. O Allah, benefit me with
- what You have taught me, teach me what
- benefits me, and provide me with
- knowledge that benefits me. Amen. We
- begin from verse 53 of Surah Ali Imran.
- I seek refuge in Allah. from the
- accursed Satan. In the name of Allah,
- the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
- Our Lord, we have believed in what You
- revealed, and we have followed the
- messenger, so write us down among the
- witnesses. That is how the verse reads.
- As for the literal meaning, it is
- Rabbana. O our Lord, our God. The
- original meaning is the Sustainer.
- Amanna. We have believed. Bima, in that
- which anzalta, You have revealed.
- Watab'na, and we followed arrasula. The
- messenger refers to Prophet Isa (Jesus)
- , peace be upon him. Faktubna, then
- record us maasyahidin, among those who
- bear witness. Ah, this is the statement
- of the disciples (Hawari) mentioned by
- Allah in verse 52. Said the disciples,
- we are the helpers of Allah. The
- disciples were the loyal companions of
- Prophet Isa, peace be upon him. Their
- statement is what is conveyed by Allah
- in the Quran. The overall meaning is:
- Our Lord, we have believed in what You
- have revealed and we have followed the
- messenger. Therefore, record us among
- the company of those who bear witness.
- Witnesses to the truthfulness of
- Prophet Isa, peace be upon him. That is
- verse 53. Next, verse 54. And they
- planned, and Allah planned, and Allah
- is the best of planners. Wa makaru, and
- they—meaning these disbelievers, it
- does not refer back to the disciples,
- no—and they, the disbelievers,
- plotted. Wa makarallahu, and Allah
- countered the plot, Allahu, Allah,
- wallahu, and Allah khairul makirin, the
- best of those who plot. Meaning, the
- One who counters the plots. The best of
- those who counter plots. The overall
- meaning. And they, the disbelievers,
- devised a plot. So Allah countered the
- plot and Allah is the best of those who
- counter plots. So Allah only counters
- because they indeed devised a plot.
- Allah countered their plot. Now, what
- was Allah's counter-plot against the
- disbelievers who wanted to do evil to
- Prophet Isa, peace be upon him, and
- wanted to kill him? Verse 55, Allah
- explains: "O Allah, O Isa, indeed I
- will take you and raise you to Myself
- and purify you and purify you from
- those who disbelieved and make those
- who followed you superior to those who
- disbelieved until the Day of
- Resurrection." then to Me is your
- return and I will judge between you in
- that over which you used to differ. id,
- when, remember when. That is the
- meaning of the literal translation.
- Qala, said, "O Isa," O Jesus. Truly, I,
- mutawaffika, will take you. So it does
- not mean making you die, no. Once again
- , this is to emphasize that Prophet Isa
- did not die. Therefore, translators and
- also scholars of tafsir translate and
- explain this phrase "mutawaffika" not
- as killing you, but taking you. In the
- tafsir of Ibn Kathir and Tafsir
- al-Jalalayn, it is stated as qobiduka,
- taking, warofiuka and raising you
- ilaiya to Me, wa mutahiruka and
- purifying you minalladzina from those
- who kafaru disbelieved. Wa ja'ilu and
- making alladzinaittaba'uka those who
- follow you fauqalladzina kafaru above
- those who disbelieved ila yaumil qiamah
- until the Day of Resurrection. Tumma
- then ilaiya to Me marjiukum is your
- return. Faahkumu. Then I, Allah, will
- judge bainakum between you fima in what
- kuntum you were in it. Takhtalifun
- disagreeing. That is the literal
- meaning; the overall meaning is. And
- remember when Allah said, "O Isa, I
- will take you and raise you to Me, and
- purify you from those who disbelieve,
- and make those who follow you above
- those who disbelieve until the Day of
- Resurrection. Then I will judge
- regarding what you have been differing
- over." The difference is whether the
- one crucified was Prophet Isa or not?
- Well, it is clearly explained in the
- books of tafsir that the one crucified
- was not Prophet Isa, peace be upon him.
- Because Prophet Isa had been taken by
- Allah and raised by Allah, and Allah
- purified and saved him from the
- disbelievers. Who was crucified in the
- Islamic faith? It was Judas Iscariot,
- the student or the disbeliever who
- pointed out to the disbelievers the
- location of Prophet Isa, peace be upon
- him. Well, his student who betrayed him
- . Then Allah, as mentioned, "wa
- makarullah," changed his face to look
- like Prophet Isa, peace be upon him,
- and he was the one caught by those who
- were going to kill Prophet Isa, and
- then he was crucified while Prophet Isa
- was taken by Allah and raised to the
- heavens. That is according to the
- explanation of the scholars of tafsir.
- So once again, what they disagree about
- , Allah will explain on the Day of
- Resurrection that the one crucified was
- not Prophet Isa, peace be upon him. So
- that belief, according to Islamic faith
- . The belief that the one crucified was
- Prophet Isa is incorrect. Next is verse
- 56. Faammalladzina kafaru fauadzibuhum
- adzaban syadidan fid dunya wal akhirah
- wama lahum min nasirin faammalladzina
- kafaru, then as for those who
- disbelieved, fauadzibuhum, then I will
- punish them adzaban with a punishment
- syadidan that is very severe. Fid dunya
- , in this world, wal akhirati and in
- the hereafter. Wama lahum. And they
- will not have, they will not have
- minnasirin any helper at all. So the
- disbelievers have suffered from this
- world until the hereafter. This is
- Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala's threat and
- the reality of people. How the
- disbelievers suffer, even though
- sometimes they appear to be happy, they
- are not. Yes, that is because Allah
- truly punishes them painfully. There is
- no peace or tranquility in their hearts
- . Only constant anxiety. Next, verse 57
- . Wa ammalladzina amamanu wa amilus
- shihat fayuwaihim ujurhum. Wallahu la
- yuhibbuzimin. Wa amma, meaning "as for,
- " alladzina amanu, "those who believe,"
- and waamilus shihat, "and they do good
- deeds," fayuwaihim, then He will
- fulfill for them. For them, He will
- fulfill their rewards or recompense.
- Wallahu, and Allah, la yuhibbu, does
- not like, who, Allah. He, meaning the
- pronoun as the subject, returns to
- Allah. So He, meaning He here is Allah,
- does not like the object. Yuhib is
- azzalimin, the wrongdoers. Because it
- is the object, azzalimin is read in the
- nasab state. The sign of nasab is the
- letter 'ya'. Because it is a sound
- masculine plural. Its nominative is
- with 'wau', accusative with 'ya',
- genitive with 'ya'. That is from the
- perspective of Nahwu (Arabic grammar).
- As for the overall meaning, it is verse
- 57. And as for those who believe and do
- good deeds, then He, Allah, will give
- them their rewards in full. And Allah
- does not like the wrongdoers. Next,
- verse 58. Dalzalika natluhu alaika
- minal ayati wadzikril hakim. That which
- is mentioned, natluhu, we recite it
- alaika to you, meaning Prophet Muhammad
- sallallahu alaihi wa alihi wasallam.
- minal ayati from the verses, wazzikri
- and the reminder, alhakim which is full
- of wisdom. The overall meaning of verse
- 58 is, "Thus We recite to you," meaning
- Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi
- wasallam, some of Our verses and the
- reminder that is full of wisdom. Next,
- verse 59. Inna matsala Isa indallahi
- kamatali adam khalaqahu min turabin
- tumma qala lahu kun fayakun. The
- literal meaning is: Inna, indeed,
- matala isa the example of Jesus before
- Allah is like the example of Adam,
- khalaqahu He created him from dust,
- then, then qala He said to him, "Be,"
- fayakunu and he became. As for the
- overall meaning, it is: Indeed, the
- example of Jesus for Allah is like the
- creation of Adam. He created him from
- dust, then He said to him, "Be, and he
- became." Next is verse 60. Alhaqqu
- mirbika fala takunanna minal mumtarin.
- Alhaqqu, the truth of the story of
- Jesus. mirbika from your Lord. Fala
- takun. So do not, do not you, meaning
- Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi
- wasallam, become among the doubters.
- Also among those who doubt. Verse 60.
- The truth comes from Allah. And meaning
- , do not be among those who doubt. So
- if it is the truth, it must come from
- Allah. Including the truth of the story
- of Jesus that was just mentioned, it is
- from Allah. So do not let Prophet
- Muhammad be among those who doubt. Next
- is verse 61. Faman hajjaka fihi mim
- ba'di ma jaaka minal ilmi, faqul taalau
- , faqul taalau nad'u abnaana wa
- abnaakum wa nisaana waisaana waisaakum
- wa anfusana wa anfusakum, tumma
- nabtahil fanaj'al lak'natallahi alal
- kadibin. An: So whoever, hajaka:
- disputes with you, fihi: about it (
- about the story of Prophet Isa), min
- ba'di ma jaaka: after there has come to
- you, minal ilmi: of knowledge, faqul:
- then say, taalau: come/let us, nat'u:
- let us call, abnaana: our children, wa
- abnaakum: and meaning our children. Wa
- abnaakum and your children. Wanisaana
- and our wives. Wanisaakum and your
- wives. Wa anfusana and our own selves.
- Wa anfusakum and your own selves. Tumma
- then nabtahil let us invoke/pray (
- mubahalah). Fanaj'al. Then let us place
- laknatallah, the curse of Allah alal
- kadibin upon those who lie. The overall
- meaning is. So whoever disputes with
- you in this matter after you have
- received knowledge, say, meaning
- Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi
- wasallam, let us call our children and
- your children and our wives and your
- wives. and ourselves and also you
- yourselves. Then let us invoke the
- curse (mubahalah) so that the curse of
- Allah be upon those who are lying. This
- is the invitation or challenge of the
- Messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi
- wasallam to those who disputed him
- regarding Prophet Isa. He was commanded
- by Allah to invite them to mubahalah.
- Mubahalah is when each party among
- those with differing opinions prays
- earnestly to Allah that He cast a curse
- upon the liars. Indeed, the Prophet
- then invited the Christian delegation
- to perform mubahalah, but they did not
- dare. This demonstrates the proof of
- the truthfulness of Prophet Muhammad
- sallallahu alaihi wasallam. It shows
- proof of the truth regarding the story
- of Prophet Isa in the Qur'an. Thus,
- brothers and sisters. Alhamdulillah, we
- have reached verse 61. God willing, we
- will continue with the following verses
- . And may Allah reward you for all your
- attention. I apologize for all my
- shortcomings. Let us end this meeting
- by reciting the prayer for the
- expiation of the gathering.
- Subhanakallahumma wabihamdika ashadu
- alla ilaha illa anta astaghfiruka wa
- atubu ilaik. Assalamu alaikum
- warahmatullah wabarakatuh.
