Allah. And upon his 2:29 family and all his companions. To 2:31 proceed. Especially the 3:01 blessing of faith and Islam, the 3:03 blessing of guidance, and also the 3:06 blessing of health and well-being. 3:10 Radio Rasil listeners and Rasil TV 3:13 viewers who are blessed by Allah 3:16 Subhanahu wa ta'ala. Our topic this 3:22 time is a continuation of the 3:28 discussion from the book I compiled, 3:31 namely 40 Hadith based on the Qur'an. 3:37 Now we will reach the 39th hadith, God 3:39 willing, with the title "Zikrullah and 3:42 the Many Paths to Goodness." Meaning 3:47 the remembrance of Allah and the many 3:51 paths to goodness. Zikrullah is a form 3:56 of worship that is commanded by Allah 4:02 Subhanahu wa ta'ala to be performed 4:08 without limits. Allah commands us to 4:13 perform Zikrullah as much as possible. 4:16 Meaning we remember Allah Subhanahu wa 4:18 ta'ala. If prayer, we are commanded 4:25 five times a day and night, the 4:27 obligatory ones, or in its rak'ahs, up 4:34 to 17 rak'ahs like that. Fasting for 4:39 one month of Ramadan, like that. But 4:44 for Zikrullah, it is commanded to 4:48 perform it as much as possible, beyond 4:52 counting. So, we will later read the 4:59 words of Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala 5:01 regarding Zikrullah, and also about the 5:08 many paths to goodness. There are many, 5:14 many paths leading to goodness. Well, 5:18 for that, as usual, let us begin by 5:21 reciting the Ummul Kitab. Then later, 5:28 we will read Surah Al-Ahzab, verses 41 5:31 to 43. And other verses as well. God 5:36 willing. May by reciting the Ummul 5:42 Kitab, Surah Al-Fatihah, Allah 5:44 Subhanahu wa ta'ala open our hearts to 5:47 understand His words. May Allah 5:51 subhanahu wa ta'ala cleanse our hearts 5:53 from all impurities of shirk, arrogance 5:56 , showing off, envy, prejudice, conceit 5:58 , and various other diseases of the 6:03 heart. And may Allah subhanahu wa 6:06 ta'ala forgive all our mistakes and 6:08 sins, the mistakes and sins of our 6:11 parents, our teachers, those who have 6:14 been good to us, and also our brothers 6:17 and sisters among the believing men and 6:20 women. Hadin niyya niyatin shihah wa ' 6:23 ala hadratin Nabi Muhammadin sallallahu 6:25 alaihi wasallam. Al-Fatihah. I seek 6:29 refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan 6:31 . In the name of Allah, the Most 6:34 Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be 6:38 to Allah, Lord of the worlds. The Most 6:42 Gracious, the Most Merciful. Master of 6:46 the Day of Judgment. You alone we 6:49 worship, and You alone we ask for help. 6:53 Guide us to the straight path, the path 6:56 of those on whom You have bestowed Your 7:01 grace, not of those who have earned 7:03 Your anger, nor of those who go astray. 7:10 Amen. O you who have believed, remember 7:18 Allah with much remembrance. And exalt 7:24 Him morning and afternoon. It is He who 7:30 sends blessings upon you, and His 7:31 angels [ask Him to do so for you] to 7:33 bring you out of darkness into the 7:38 light. And He is ever, to the believers 7:43 , Merciful. Allah the Almighty has 7:47 spoken the truth, and His messenger, 7:49 the noble Prophet, has spoken truly. We 7:52 bear witness to this among the grateful 7:54 , and praise be to Allah, Lord of the 7:55 worlds. Glory be to You. Glory be to 8:06 You, for You are the All-Knowing, the 8:07 Wise. Our Lord, increase us in 8:09 knowledge and grant us understanding. 8:12 Our Lord, let not our hearts deviate 8:14 after You have guided us, and grant us 8:16 from Yourself mercy. Indeed, You are 8:18 the Bestower. Listeners of Radio Rasil 8:21 and viewers of Rasil TV who are blessed 8:24 by Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. In Surah 8:31 Al-Ahzab, verses 41 to 43, which we 8:35 just recited. Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala 8:40 speaks, commanding us, the believers, 8:44 to remember Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala 8:48 often. "O you who have believed, 8:51 remember Allah with much remembrance." 8:56 O you who have believed, remember Allah 8:59 . Remember Allah with much remembrance. 9:06 Yes, "udzkuru" is a command to remember 9:08 Allah. Yes, we often refer to it as 9:11 dhikr. Yes, dhikr means remembering, 9:15 yes. There is dhikr and there is fikr, 9:19 yes. Fikr means thinking with the brain 9:21 , yes. And, well, remembering, that is 9:26 done with the heart, also assisted by 9:29 the brain, like that. And Allah 9:35 Subhanahu wa ta'ala commands here, " 9:38 udzkurullaha dzikron katsira." Remember 9:43 Allah with much remembrance. This 9:49 zikrullah, this means to do dhikr, 9:52 which means remembering Allah, yes. The 9:55 point is, remembering Allah happens in 9:57 our minds and our hearts. That act of 10:01 dhikr is included in "min a'malil qulub 10:03 ." Deeds of the heart, yes. But it is 10:09 also assisted usually so that well, 10:15 sometimes so that what is in our hearts 10:20 becomes more firm; like that, we often 10:23 say it with the tongue, yes. Therefore, 10:27 it is usually similar to someone making 10:30 an intention, yes. Intention resides in 10:34 the heart, yes. Like the intention for 10:39 prayer. But sometimes, the scholars, 10:44 yes, explain that saying it with the 10:51 tongue makes it firmer, though it is 10:53 actually sufficient with the heart, 10:56 like that. So, this act of the heart, 11:05 from this zikrullah, the essence is 11:09 that it is performed by our hearts and 11:14 our minds, like that. But also, this* 11:20 dhikrullah*(remembrance of Allah) is 11:23 recommended and practiced with our 11:26 tongues. By reciting things like* 11:31 lailahaillallah*, *subhanallah*, * 11:35 alhamdulillah*, these are phrases that 11:40 remind us of Allah when we see 11:44 something amazing. We say*subhanallah* 11:48 or*masha'allah*like that. It is all 11:51 about returning everything to Allah. 11:55 What does that mean? So that whenever 12:00 we experience an event or go through 12:03 something, we don't forget to remember 12:06 Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. That is why 12:09 we are commanded to say something that 12:15 returns back to Allah. When someone 12:18 passes away, we say*istirja*, meaning 12:22 we say*Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi 12:26 raji'un*. Yes, when there is a disaster 12:30 like that, we also say the same. *Inna 12:32 lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji'un*. Indeed 12:35 , we belong to Allah and to Allah we 12:38 shall return. This is a dhikr recited 12:42 with our tongues, but we must also 12:45 understand its meaning so our hearts 12:49 remember when these events occur. 12:53 Remembering and returning to Allah. 12:56 Remembering Allah is an act of worship 12:58 that Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala commands 13:01 , without a limit on how much. * 13:04 Udzkurullaha dzikran katsira*, remember 13:07 Allah with much remembrance. * 13:10 Wasabbihuhu bukratan wa ashila*. 13:14 Glorify Him. Exalt Allah in the morning 13:18 and in the evening. Yes, because this 13:22 glorification is actually a part of 13:25 dhikr. A part of dhikr. Yes, * 13:29 subhanallah*, that is glorifying Him, 13:32 right? We say*subhanallah*, meaning " 13:34 Glory be to Allah." Don't just say it 13:38 as a mere utterance. But we must 13:44 understand that when we say*subhanallah 13:47 *, "Glory be to Allah," our hearts must 13:51 believe that Allah is free from all 13:54 weaknesses, free from any flaws, and 13:57 free from any forgetfulness. Yes, free 14:02 from all evil attributes. That is when 14:07 we say*subhanallah*. At the same time, 14:11 the person who says*subhanallah*must 14:13 also cleanse their heart from having 14:15 bad thoughts toward Allah Subhanahu wa 14:18 ta'ala. Don't, when one is praying or 14:21 in difficulty asking for something, 14:23 think, "Why hasn't it been granted?" 14:26 Saying, "Oh, Allah is cruel.""Allah is 14:29 showing favoritism.""Allah is needy." 14:32 Like that. Those are evil thoughts 14:35 toward Allah. We must cleanse these. 14:38 When we say*subhanallah*, we are not 14:41 just saying it means "Glory be to Allah 14:44 ." It means Allah is free from those 14:46 attributes. We must also cleanse our 14:49 hearts from having bad thoughts about 14:51 Allah. Because Allah is already 14:55 glorified by this entire universe. Yes, 14:59 *yusabbihu lillahi ma fis-samawati wa 15:01 fil-ard*. Glorifying Allah. It means 15:05 everything glorifies Him. *Ma 15:09 fis-samawati wa fil-ard*. Everything in 15:12 the heavens and on earth glorifies 15:14 Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. Yes. So, 15:21 even down to our blood cells. 15:28 Everything within our bodies, whether 15:31 it be the lungs, heart, liver, or 15:35 kidneys, all of them glorify Allah 15:38 Subhanahu wa ta'ala by carrying out the 15:41 tasks that Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala 15:45 has ordained. The heavens and the earth 15:49 , the planets, the sun, and the moons, 15:51 all glorify Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. 15:54 The creatures on this earth, as well as 15:57 those in the heavens, all glorify Allah 16:00 Subhanahu wa ta'ala, to the point where 16:03 Allah says, "Wa in min shai'in illa 16:06 yusabbihu bihamdih." There is not a 16:10 single thing but that it glorifies Him 16:12 with praise to Allah. Because 16:14 everything is a creature of Allah 16:16 Subhanahu wa ta'ala. They acknowledge 16:19 the perfection of Allah Subhanahu wa 16:22 ta'ala, free from all evil attributes, 16:24 shortcomings, negligence, or weakness. 16:29 Yes. "Wa in min shai'in illa yusabbihu 16:31 bihamdih." There is nothing, indeed, 16:35 but that it glorifies and praises Allah 16:39 Subhanahu wa ta'ala. Therefore, we are 16:43 also commanded to join in that 16:45 glorification. Even the cells in our 16:49 bodies are all glorifying Him. Our body 16:52 organs are all glorifying Him. Why are 16:54 we the ones who do not want to glorify 16:55 Him? This means we are challenging, 16:58 going against the flow of the entire 17:00 universe which is glorifying Him. Then, 17:03 if we humans are indeed given the 17:06 freedom to act and the freedom to 17:09 choose, yes, and we choose not to, it 17:16 means we are going against the flow, 17:18 the flow followed by this entire 17:19 universe. If we do not want to glorify 17:25 Allah and, at the same time, do not 17:28 remember Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala, in 17:31 the following verse Allah then provides 17:34 glad tidings. "Huwalladzi yusolli' 17:38 alaikum wa mala'ikatuhu." It is He, 17:42 Allah, who sends blessings upon you. 17:46 The meaning of sending blessings here 17:48 is granting His mercy to you. "Wa 17:50 mala'ikatuhu," and His angels also send 17:52 blessings. The blessings of the angels 17:54 are their prayers for us. So, how about 17:57 those who always remember Allah, who 18:00 glorify Allah? They, the believers, are 18:03 always granted mercy by Allah and also 18:06 prayed for by the angels. " 18:08 Liyukhrijakum minaz-zulumati ilan-nur," 18:11 so that He brings you out from darkness 18:14 into the light. "Wa kana bil-mu'minina 18:18 rahima." And Allah is Ever Merciful to 18:23 the believers. "Wa kana bil-mu'minina 18:27 rahima." This is what is explained by 18:30 Allah in Surah Al-Ahzab verses 41 and 18:32 43. Listeners of Rasil and viewers of 18:38 Rasil TV who are blessed by Allah 18:41 Subhanahu wa ta'ala. Why is it that 18:50 remembering Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala 18:54 is such a very important form of 18:57 worship, and even our prayer, our five 19:01 daily prayers, what is the purpose? The 19:08 purpose is to remember Allah Subhanahu 19:11 wa ta'ala. Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala 19:15 says in Surah Taha when Allah Subhanahu 19:19 wa ta'ala spoke with Prophet Musa 19:22 Alaihissalam. Yes, Prophet Musa spoke 19:25 with Allah on Mount Sinai. Allah 19:29 introduced Himself. Yes, Prophet Musa 19:34 heard Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala from 19:37 behind a veil. Meaning Prophet Musa 19:40 heard the voice but did not see Allah 19:44 Subhanahu wa ta'ala. "Innani anallah, 19:49 la ilaha illa ana, fa'budni." Allah 19:53 introduced Himself. "Innani anallah." 19:57 Indeed, I am Allah. "La ilaha illa ana. 20:01 " There is no God but Me. Fa'budni. So 20:06 worship Me. Wa aqim salah. And 20:10 establish prayer to remember Me. So the 20:16 purpose of us performing prayer is 20:21 essentially to ensure that we remember 20:25 Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. So that we 20:30 are always mindful. That is why we are 20:33 commanded to fulfill our prayer 20:35 obligation five times a day, separated 20:42 by Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. Yes, 20:48 separated, yes. When we just wake up, 20:51 we are commanded or obligated to 20:53 perform the Subuh prayer so that when 20:56 we wake up, we remember Allah Subhanahu 20:59 wa Ta'ala. In the middle of the day, 21:03 when we are busy with activities, 21:06 working, some studying, some trading, 21:09 some working in government, or some 21:12 farming, all sorts of things, in the 21:15 middle of the day, we are reminded to 21:18 perform the Zuhr prayer, commanded to 21:23 pray, so that no matter how busy we are 21:26 , we are commanded to return to 21:29 remembering Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. 21:33 At the time of Asr, after we have 21:37 drained our energy and are feeling 21:40 exhausted, we are still reminded again 21:44 to perform the Asr prayer so that we 21:47 remember Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala once 21:51 more. When the sun sets, we are again 21:54 obligated and commanded to perform 21:57 Maghrib prayer to keep remembering 21:59 Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala until we go 22:02 to sleep at the time of Isha, we are 22:04 commanded to perform the Isha prayer. 22:08 This is all what Allah says, wa 22:11 aqimash-shalata lidzikri. Establish 22:15 prayer to remember Me. Yes, so that we 22:19 always remember Allah Subhanahu wa 22:21 Ta'ala. Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala says 22:25 this in Surah Al-Ankabut, and earlier 22:27 in Surah Taha verse 14. In Surah 22:31 Al-Ankabut, Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala 22:34 says, "Utlu ma uhiya ilaika minal 22:36 kitabi wa aqimish-shalah, 22:38 innash-shalata tanha 'anil-fahsyai 22:40 wal-munkar." Recite what has been 22:45 revealed to you, O Messenger of Allah. 22:48 From the book, from the Holy Quran. And 22:53 establish prayer; indeed, it prevents 22:56 immorality and wrongdoing. Indeed, 23:00 prayer can prevent a person from 23:02 committing immoral and evil deeds. Look 23:05 , one of the benefits of prayer is that 23:09 it can prevent a person from immoral 23:13 and evil deeds. This is if they " 23:17 establish" prayer, note the command: to 23:19 establish prayer, not just perform it. 23:23 If one only performs prayer, just going 23:28 through the motions, bowing and 23:32 prostrating without presence of heart 23:36 or understanding the purpose of the 23:40 prayer, the meaning of prayer, as we 23:44 have explained in Surah Al-Ma'arij, 23:49 which we will clarify again later. Yes. 23:53 So the meaning of iqamush-shalah is 23:56 establishing prayer. If people truly 24:00 establish prayer, the first 24:02 characteristic of those who do so is 24:04 that they are constant in their prayer. 24:07 Their prayers are not inconsistent. The 24:10 second, yes, they are always, uh, 24:21 setting aside a portion of their wealth 24:25 for the poor and the needy. Lissaili 24:30 wal mahrum. Then, people who establish 24:40 prayer, it means those who are not 24:42 stingy, they are...They deeply care 24:47 about their environment, they are ready 24:51 to share, and if they receive blessings 24:54 , they set aside some for the poor and 24:57 the needy. Next is that those who 25:02 establish prayer fear the afterlife; no 25:06 , they are not just afraid, they firmly 25:10 believe in the existence of the 25:13 afterlife. So, people who establish 25:18 prayer are certain of the Day of 25:20 Judgment. They are certain that every 25:24 human action will be judged by Allah, 25:27 will be accounted for by Allah. Those 25:32 who believe in the afterlife, in the 25:35 Day of Reckoning, mean*yusaddiquuna 25:37 bi-yawmid-deen*. Meaning they trust and 25:42 believe in the existence of the Day of 25:44 Judgment. Naturally, they would not 25:48 want to commit vile or evil deeds in 25:50 this world. They do not want to oppress 25:54 others. They do not want to take other 25:56 people's wealth. They do not want to 25:58 hurt others. Because they will be held 26:04 accountable later; even if they could 26:07 escape earthly courts and punishment, 26:12 if they believe that in the afterlife 26:17 every person will be judged by Allah 26:21 Subhanahu wa Ta'ala—one by one—this 26:26 will surely prevent them from doing 26:31 reckless things, committing vile acts 26:36 like injustice, adultery, LGBT, and so 26:40 on; *al-fahsya wal-munkar*. So, those 26:46 who establish prayer are like that, 26:50 they*yusaddiquuna bi-yawmid-deen*. Then 26:54 they are what?*Wa hum min ‘adzabi 26:58 rabbihim musyriquun*. They are fearful 27:00 of their Lord's punishment. Afraid of 27:03 the punishment of Allah Subhanahu wa 27:05 Ta'ala. Even though they are diligent 27:08 in performing their prayers. Their 27:11 prayer is already good. They not only 27:14 perform the obligatory prayers, but 27:16 they also perform the voluntary ones. 27:20 If they truly establish prayer, all the 27:25 deeds they perform do not make them 27:30 conceited, arrogant, haughty, or 27:34 deceived. Like many people who, when 27:38 they are diligent in prayer, feel they 27:41 are the greatest, the best, the most 27:45 righteous; that is not the case for 27:48 those who establish prayer and fear the 27:51 punishment of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala 27:54 . This is what was recounted by 27:58 Sayyidatina Aisyah radhiallahu anha 28:01 when she was asked about the Quranic 28:04 verse that says*walladzina yu'tuna ma 28:07 atau wa qulubuhum wajilatun annahum ila 28:10 rabbihim*. *Raji'un*. Yes. Those who 28:19 give what they give, and their hearts 28:25 remain fearful because they are certain 28:32 they will be returned to their Lord. 28:41 Yes. This person asked Sayyidatina 28:47 Aisyah, meaning someone from the 28:49 Tabi'in generation. What does that mean 28:52 ? Yes. From this verse, did the 28:59 companions used to commit adultery, 29:02 drink khamr, and do evil deeds, and 29:06 then fear Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala? Is 29:14 that what it means? Does it mean that 29:17 after committing sins, they fear Allah? 29:20 Sayyidatina Aisyah replied, "That is 29:22 not what it means." When they have 29:27 worshiped, have carried out Allah's 29:31 commands, whether it is prayer, fasting 29:35 , zakat, striving in the path of Allah, 29:39 or donating their wealth, even though 29:42 they have performed good deeds, their 29:46 hearts remain fearful. Their hearts 29:50 tremble, afraid that perhaps their 29:52 deeds might not be accepted by Allah 29:54 Subhanahu wa ta'ala. This is their 29:57 conviction because they know they will 29:59 return to Allah. Fearful that when they 30:01 are judged by Allah, it turns out their 30:03 deeds were not accepted. Like that, yes 30:06 . So, it is not for someone who has 30:09 done good deeds to become arrogant. 30:12 This means falling into the devil's 30:13 trap, yes. Because Iblis was also once 30:18 —what was Iblis? A creature who 30:21 believed in Allah, yes. He engaged in 30:24 dialogue with Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala 30:26 and knew of Allah's punishment, yes. 30:28 But because of his arrogance, he was 30:33 expelled, yes, from paradise, like that 30:35 . Cursed and damned by Allah Subhanahu 30:38 wa ta'ala because of arrogance. This is 30:41 also a snare of Iblis. He is not 30:44 willing if there are descendants of the 30:46 Prophet Adam alaihi salam who are good 30:48 like that and succeed. La-aq'udanna 30:52 lahum shirathakal mustaqim. "I will 30:56 surely sit in wait for them on Your 30:58 straight path." When someone is already 31:02 on the straight path, already wanting 31:03 to perform prayer. "Wow, your prayer is 31:05 already good." That person is praised. 31:09 "Oh, you are the most righteous.""Oh, 31:11 you are the best.""Oh, there is no one 31:14 like you.""All the others are just weak 31:18 , you know.""Their worship is not in 31:21 accordance with the Sunnah," like that. 31:23 All sorts of things, being elevated 31:25 like that, yes. So that one becomes 31:28 deceived, trapped by the devil earlier. 31:32 Now, those who establish prayer are not 31:33 like that, yes. They will be humble, 31:37 meaning they do not act arrogantly, and 31:41 so on. Yes, the people who establish 31:45 prayer are also mentioned by Allah as 31:47 those who keep their promises and honor 31:50 the trusts given to them. When they are 31:53 given a mandate, they fulfill that 31:55 mandate. This means someone who 31:58 establishes prayer does not just 31:59 perform the motions of prayer. If we 32:03 look today, we see people who pray 32:05 often, but why do they corrupt, why do 32:08 they betray the trust given to them? 32:12 Know that they have not yet established 32:14 prayer, they are only performing the 32:16 motions of prayer, like that. Because 32:19 those who only perform the motions of 32:21 prayer could still be doomed. Allah 32:24 Subhanahu wa ta'ala emphasizes, " 32:26 Fawailul lil musalleen," not "fawailul 32:29 lil muqeemis-salah." It is not in the 32:31 Quranic verse, but "fawailul lil 32:34 musalleen, allatheena hum' an salatihim 32:37 sahoon." Woe (to the dwellers of Wail 32:40 hell) to those who pray, meaning those 32:42 who only perform the motions of prayer 32:44 but their prayer is tainted by showing 32:46 off. They perform it with showiness, 32:49 wanting to be praised, like that. This 32:53 is part of how those who establish 32:55 prayer behave. Besides what was closed 32:58 earlier, this verse is about the 33:00 characteristics of those who establish 33:01 prayer, yes. Wallatheena hum 'ala 33:05 salatihim yuhafizoon, yes. They guard 33:09 their prayers. Meaning guarding the 33:11 conditions and pillars of prayer. They 33:14 pay attention to their humbleness and 33:15 focus when praying. So it is like that. 33:18 A person who performs prayer is not 33:21 just someone who prays in the mosque, 33:24 but even outside the mosque, what they 33:27 do in the mosque is reflected in their 33:30 actions. Yes, it is like that. Let us 33:34 return to the word of Allah where He 33:37 mentions that*inna as-salata tanha' an 33:39 al-fahsha'i wa al-munkari*. The person 33:43 who performs prayer will certainly find 33:45 that their prayer prevents them from 33:48 shameful and evil deeds. Then Allah 33:51 mentions*wa la dhikru Allahi akbar*. 33:54 The purpose of prayer is not only to 33:58 prevent a person from shameful and evil 34:01 deeds. The greater purpose is so that 34:05 they are always mindful of Allah. *Wa 34:08 la dhikru Allahi akbar*. And 34:11 remembering Allah—the purpose of 34:13 prayer is remembering Allah. That is 34:15 the greatest goal. Yes, *wallahu 34:18 ya'lamu ma tasna'un*. Allah knows what 34:23 you do. This is regarding*dhikrullah*, 34:27 remembering Allah. So remembering Allah 34:30 means remembering Him with our hearts 34:33 and minds, and also, and also aided by 34:37 what? By our tongues. Let us read the 34:42 hadith of our Prophet Muhammad, may 34:44 Allah bless him and grant him peace, 34:45 regarding this matter. The Messenger of 34:49 Allah, may Allah bless him and grant 34:50 him peace, once said. This hadith is 34:55 narrated by Imam Muslim from the 34:57 companion Abu Dharr al-Ghifari: "*An 35:00 Abi Dharrin al-Ghifari radhiallahu anhu 35:03 , anna unasam min ashabi rasulillahi 35:05 sallallahu alaihi wa sallam qalu*." Yes 35:10 , from the companion Abu Dharr 35:12 al-Ghifari, may Allah be pleased with 35:15 him, he said that some people from the 35:18 companions of the Prophet, may Allah 35:20 bless him and grant him peace, said to 35:23 the Prophet, "O Messenger of Allah, * 35:25 dhahaba ahlu ad-duturi bi al-ujur*." O 35:30 Messenger of Allah, yes, these people 35:33 who came to the Prophet—it is not 35:36 mentioned here, but in the commentary 35:38 or the explanation of the hadith in* 35:41 Riyad as-Salihin*or other hadith 35:44 collections, it is. Who came were the* 35:48 ahl*of what? The*Ahlus Suffah*, yes. * 35:53 Ahlus Suffah*, yes. *Ahlus Suffah*means 35:57 people who lived on the porches of the 35:59 Prophet's mosque. Poor people who slept 36:03 there on the porches of the Prophet's 36:06 mosque. They asked our Prophet Muhammad 36:10 , may Allah bless him and grant him 36:11 peace, saying to the Prophet, "O 36:13 Messenger of Allah, *dhahaba ahlu 36:14 ad-duturi bi al-ujur*." O Messenger of 36:19 Allah, the wealthy people—they felt, 36:23 "How come the wealthy people have 36:26 hoarded all the rewards, all the merits 36:29 are taken by them?"*Dhahaba ahlu 36:33 ad-duturi bi al-ujur*. *Dhahaba*here is 36:35 not interpreted as "gone," but means " 36:37 swept away" or "hoarded."*Dhahaba bi 36:40 al-ujur*means hoarding, carrying away 36:42 all the rewards. *Ahlu ad-duturi*refers 36:46 to wealthy people. *Dhahaba ahlu 36:48 ad-duturi bi al-ujur*. O Messenger of 36:51 Allah, the wealthy people are hoarding 36:53 the rewards. All the rewards are being 36:55 taken by them. Whereas*yusalluna kama 36:59 nusalli*. They pray just as we pray. * 37:04 Wa yasumuna*. They also fast just as we 37:09 fast. *Wa yatasaddaquna bi fuduli 37:13 amwalihim*. But they can give charity 37:16 from their surplus wealth. We are poor 37:19 people, oh Messenger of Allah, and we 37:21 cannot give charity. So, all the 37:24 rewards we perform, well, many of the 37:27 things we do, they can do too. But 37:32 there are things they do that we cannot 37:35 do. Meaning they get to hoard all those 37:37 rewards. Yeah. Then the Messenger of 37:44 Allah, peace be upon him, replied, " 37:47 Awala ja'alakum ma tusaddaqun." Yes, 37:51 has Allah the Exalted not provided you 37:54 with ways in which you can give charity 37:56 ? Don't think that just because you are 38:00 poor you cannot give charity; you can. 38:04 This shows the breadth of the meaning 38:06 of charity. We can understand this from 38:08 this hadith. Then the Messenger of 38:11 Allah, peace be upon him, said, "Inna 38:13 bikulli tasbihatin sadaqah." Know that 38:16 for every time you say "Subhanallah,"" 38:19 Subhanallah,""Subhanallah." Usually, 38:22 after prayer, we recite it 33 times or 38:25 11 times, right? We recite it 33 times, 38:29 Alhamdulillah 33 times, and Allahu 38:32 Akbar 33 times. That, said the Prophet, 38:35 is "inna bikulli tasbihatin sadaqah." 38:38 Indeed, every one of your 38:40 glorifications is a charity. This is 38:44 part of dhikr, isn't it? The dhikr of 38:46 the tongue. "Wa kulli takbiratin 38:50 sadaqah." Every time we say "Allahu 38:54 Akbar,""Allahu Akbar,""Allahu Akbar," 38:56 it is also counted as charity. Look. " 39:01 Wa kulli tahmidatin sadaqah." Every 39:05 time we praise, saying "Alhamdulillah." 39:08 "Alhamdulillah" is also a charity. "Wa 39:12 kulli tahlilatin sadaqah." Oh, "inna 39:15 bikulli"...tahlilatin sadaqah. Every 39:22 time we say "La ilaha illallah," it is 39:25 also counted as charity. "Wa amrun bil 39:30 ma'rufi sadaqah." Yes. Doing "Amr 39:35 Ma'ruf," commanding others to do good, 39:38 is also a charity. And forbidding 39:46 others from evil deeds is also counted 39:50 as charity. There are so many ways for 39:54 us to give charity like that. And it's 39:58 easy, it's easy for us to say. Even the 40:04 Prophet said, "Wa fi bud'i ahadikum 40:06 sadaqah." Yes, if someone has marital 40:11 relations with their spouse, that is 40:13 also charity. They...were surprised. 40:20 The companions asked, "Oh Messenger of 40:22 Allah, would one of us satisfy his 40:23 desire and have a reward for it?" Oh 40:27 Messenger of Allah, is it true that 40:29 someone satisfies their desire and yet 40:31 receives a reward? The Prophet replied, 40:39 "Haram ya akana alaihi wizrun." What is 40:46 your opinion if they satisfied their 40:48 desire in a forbidden way, by 40:50 committing adultery for example, would 40:53 that not be a sin for them? Yes. So it 40:58 means that when they satisfy it in a 41:01 lawful way, with their partner, with 41:04 their spouse, then they receive a 41:07 reward. "Fakadalika idha wada'a fi 41:11 al-halali kana lahu ajrun." Likewise, 41:15 if they satisfy their desire in a 41:18 lawful way, they will receive a reward. 41:23 Reported by Muslim. This hadith is 41:25 narrated by Imam Muslim. So it explains 41:29 that there are many ways to give 41:32 charity. There is another hadith that 41:36 is actually a continuation of this 41:37 event. It turns out that finally, these 41:43 Ahl al-Suffah, the poor people living 41:46 on the veranda of the Prophet's Mosque, 41:49 were happy after receiving the 41:52 explanation from the Prophet. Oh, so 41:56 it's not just the rich who can give 41:59 charity. They...Okay, they can give 42:03 charity with wealth, but we can also 42:06 give charity by saying tasbih, tahmid, 42:09 tahlil, takbir, enjoining good, 42:11 forbidding evil, and so on. We will 42:15 also receive the reward of charity. 42:18 Eventually, it was put into practice. 42:22 As it turns out, the wealthy people 42:24 also heard what the Messenger of Allah, 42:27 may Allah bless him and grant him peace 42:29 , had told them. Finally, they also 42:33 practiced these things. Increasing 42:37 their tasbih, tahmid, takbir, tahlil, 42:39 as well as enjoining good and 42:41 forbidding evil as mentioned before. Oh 42:45 , finally the Ahlus Suffah heard about 42:48 it again. It turns out they already 42:51 knew. They are doing what we are doing. 42:56 They went back to meet the Messenger of 42:57 Allah, may Allah bless him and grant 42:58 him peace. "O Messenger of Allah, they 43:00 are doing what we are doing, what you 43:03 suggested to us." Then the Messenger of 43:07 Allah said, "Dzalika fadlullahi yutihi 43:09 may yasya." Yes, that is the bounty of 43:13 Allah which He grants to whom He wills. 43:17 Just like that. That is the bounty of 43:19 Allah. Yes, therefore, this is the 43:23 advantage of someone who, if they are 43:27 rich, faithful, and grateful, their 43:30 rewards are greater, like that. Now, 43:35 because of that, what did the Messenger 43:37 of Allah once say? Uh. In one of his 43:41 hadiths, he said, "Al-mu'minul qawiyyu 43:47 khairun wa ahabbu ilallahi minal 43:49 mu'minid da'if." A strong believer is 43:55 better and more beloved to Allah than a 43:58 weak believer. Wafi kullin khairun. 44:02 Although for every believer, both the 44:04 weak and the strong, there is goodness. 44:07 But the strong one, strong in their 44:10 physique, strong in their knowledge, 44:14 strong in their economy, that is all " 44:18 khairun wa ahabbu ilallah," it is 44:21 better and more beloved to Allah. " 44:25 Minal mu'minid da'if," than the weak 44:27 believer, like that. Now, this is what 44:30 Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala explains, the 44:34 importance of us always remembering 44:37 Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. Because in 44:41 remembering Allah through tasbih, 44:42 tahmid, and tahlil, all of those are 44:45 also ways to remember Allah Subhanahu 44:47 wa Ta'ala. Besides our obligatory 44:50 prayers, which are for remembering 44:52 Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. And all of 44:56 these are paths of goodness that Allah 45:01 Subhanahu wa Ta'ala has explained to us 45:05 , with the goal that we become people 45:10 who will receive the mercy of Allah 45:14 Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. Yes. Because, as 45:21 mentioned, this command to perform 45:24 dhikr is ordered so that we do it in 45:30 great numbers, or remembering Allah is 45:35 limitless, the obligation is not 45:39 limited, meaning it must be done in 45:44 abundance. The word "dhikr" is also 45:48 repeated in the Qur'an more than 200 45:51 times. Yes, that shows the importance 45:54 of remembering Allah Subhanahu wa 45:56 Ta'ala and performing dhikr. Even Allah 45:59 Subhanahu wa Ta'ala explains in Surah 46:02 Taha, verse 124, Allah mentions, "Waman 46:05 a'rada 'an dzikri." Whoever turns away 46:10 from My remembrance, does not want to 46:13 do dhikr, does not want to remember 46:16 Allah, falahu maisyatan dhanka, then 46:18 they will experience a narrow life. 46:24 Wahsyuruhu yaumal qiyamati a'ma. Later 46:29 on the Day of Judgment, he will be 46:31 gathered in a state of blindness. Look 46:36 at that. In a state of blindness. Then 46:41 they will ask Allah, "Rabbi lima 46:43 hasyartani a'ma.""Wa qad kuntu bashira. 46:47 ""O my Lord, why have You gathered me 46:52 here today in a state of blindness?"" 46:55 Whereas before, when I was in the world 46:57 , I could see and my eyes were not 47:00 blind?" Then Allah says, "Kadzalika 47:06 atatka ayatuna fanasitaha, wa 47:08 kadzalikal yauma tunsa.""Thus it is, 47:13 when Our verses came to you, you forgot 47:17 them.""You did not heed Our verses." 47:22 The verses of Allah that commanded [us] 47:24 to always remember Allah. Yes, you 47:27 ignored them. Likewise, you are now 47:35 being forgotten, meaning ignored, until 47:39 your eyesight—you once had eyes that 47:42 could clearly see how the Messenger 47:45 taught the verses of Allah, [which] you 47:49 ignored—now Allah finally blinds them 47:52 . This is what is experienced by those 47:56 who do not want to remember Allah, who 47:59 do not want to perform dhikr to Allah. 48:03 Therefore, besides our hearts always 48:08 remembering Allah, we should also keep 48:12 our tongues busy with dhikr to Allah 48:16 Subhanahu wa ta'ala. This occupation is 48:21 so that we are not busy with things 48:24 forbidden by Allah. Because our tongues 48:27 are under our control. If we direct 48:34 them to always remember Allah, to do 48:37 dhikr to Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala— 48:39 meaning to perform dhikr to Allah by 48:41 uttering the good words (kalimah 48:44 thayyibah). Then with this tongue, we 48:50 will receive a reward. However, when we 48:56 use that tongue to gossip about people, 49:00 to insult, to slander others, to 49:02 humiliate others, that will become a 49:05 sin for us, a burden for us. Perhaps 49:09 that is all I can convey; I apologize 49:11 for any shortcomings. Billahi taufiq 49:14 wal hidayah. Assalamu'alaikum 49:15 warahmatullahi wabarakatuh. Perhaps 49:17 there are questions, please go ahead. 49:20 Yes. Very well. Wa'alaikumussalam 49:22 warahmatullah wabarakatuh. Right, 49:24 brothers. And sisters. We have just 49:26 listened to the lecture from Ustaz 49:29 Hamzah Alatas, with tonight's theme 49:31 being "Remembering Allah and the Many 49:34 Paths of Goodness." For brothers and 49:37 sisters who wish to ask questions, 49:39 respond, or dialogue directly with 49:41 Ustaz Hamzah Alatas, you can use our 49:44 interactive service at the WhatsApp 49:46 number 0811999 720. Yes, we will be 49:54 back after the following message. Radio 49:57 Silaturahim and Rasil TV for one Islam. 50:02 Still with me, Riska Agustin, Yusuf 50:04 Subangkit, and Ondi Syaputra, in 50:06 tonight's lecture program with Ustaz 50:08 Hamzah Alatas, on the theme " 50:10 Remembering Allah and the Many Paths of 50:12 Goodness." Yes. Before we proceed to 50:18 the questions, I would like to greet 50:21 several listeners who earlier sent 50:23 greetings and said they are listening 50:26 to this study. There is Ibu Ani, there 50:32 is Bu Aminah, there is Eyang Sri, and 50:37 also Bapak Rama in Tangerang. Yes, very 50:40 well. There is a question, Ustadz, from 50:43 Mrs. 50:45 Aminah in Citra Indah. Peace be upon 50:48 you, and Allah's mercy and blessings, 50:50 Ustadz. 50:50 And peace be upon you, and Allah's 50:51 mercy and blessings. 50:52 I am listening, thank you for the 50:54 knowledge. 50:55 Amen. 50:56 May I ask, I am always afraid because 50:59 everything is watched by Allah. I 51:03 always pray that my worship is accepted 51:05 by Allah. Does Allah accept my worship, 51:09 Ustadz? Thank you. 51:11 This is a good attitude, as mentioned 51:14 in the Quran earlier, and that is how 51:17 the Prophet's companions were. People 51:20 who were educated by our Prophet 51:21 Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant 51:23 him peace, with the Quran. They were 51:25 not arrogant about their many good 51:27 deeds because that is dangerous. If you 51:31 have that attitude of being worried and 51:33 afraid that our deeds might not be 51:35 accepted, even though we have tried. 51:40 That is surely, because it is in 51:41 accordance with Allah's commands and 51:43 guidance, God willing, it will be 51:44 accepted. What is actually dangerous is 51:49 when someone feels ghurur, meaning 51:52 feeling deceived by their own deeds 51:55 like Iblis. Feeling arrogant, thinking 52:00 they are more noble. Their deeds are 52:06 more numerous, their deeds are, for 52:08 example, more perfect. While others are 52:12 not. Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala most 52:15 hates arrogant people. 52:18 Yes, for example, it has been described 52:21 why Allah recounted the event when 52:23 Allah created Prophet Adam Alaihissalam 52:26 . When Allah showed how the creature to 52:32 be made a caliph on this earth ternyata 52:36 has advantages not predicted by the 52:39 angels. They thought, "Oh, this 52:42 creature that will be a caliph, judging 52:45 by its physical appearance, is the same 52:47 as the creatures already on earth, like 52:50 chimpanzees." Physically, humans are 52:53 indeed similar to chimpanzees. Yes, but 52:57 it turns out to be different. This is a 53:00 creature given by Allah Subhanahu wa 53:03 ta'ala the ability to think, given 53:07 knowledge, given, uh, the ability to 53:13 detect and formulate things. Yes, that 53:18 is the sentence from wa' allama adamal 53:20 asmaa'a kullaha. Allah taught Adam all 53:24 the names. It doesn't mean teaching one 53:28 by one, it means being given the 53:30 ability to Prophet Adam and his 53:33 descendants. These genes are inherited. 53:38 Well, they are given the ability to 53:41 name things, formulate things, and 53:45 define things. Yes, that is an ability 53:50 not possessed by other creatures. Now, 53:54 only after that did Allah command, 53:57 because the angels finally knew the 53:59 advantages of the creature that would 54:01 be a caliph on this earth. Yes, they 54:05 admitted "Subhanaka la 'ilma lana illa 54:09 ma' allamtana." Yes, Glory be to You. 54:14 Yes. Subhanaka, we have no knowledge. 54:21 There is no knowledge for us except 54:23 what You have taught us. Now, after 54:27 that, the angels were commanded, and 54:29 there, among the group of angels, there 54:32 was actually another creature, namely 54:35 Iblis. Yes, indeed they were with Iblis 54:39 , he was with the angels. It is even 54:42 said that he once taught the angels. 54:46 Meaning, Iblis originally came from 54:49 those who believed, from beings who had 54:52 faith. From beings who had faith and 54:57 served Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. They 55:02 knew of heaven, knew of hell, and even 55:05 conversed directly with Allah Subhanahu 55:08 wa ta'ala. But with his arrogance, he 55:10 felt he was better. "Ana khairum minhu, 55:14 khalaqtani min narin wa khalaqtahu min 55:17 thin." This phrase "ana khairum minhu" 55:19 is truly dangerous. If we feel, "Oh, we 55:22 are the best, we are better than 55:24 so-and-so," be careful with that. This 55:28 is a loophole for Iblis and his 55:31 descendants, the devils, to trip us up 55:35 after we have worked so hard to do good 55:39 deeds and perform various virtuous acts 55:43 . We pray, we fast, we pay zakat, we 55:48 give alms, and yet Iblis will not stay 55:52 still; he will not stop tempting us. He 55:58 lifts us up, praises us, saying, "Oh, 56:00 you are the best person," like that. 56:04 There is no one like you. In the end, 56:07 we are deceived into feeling we are the 56:09 best, the most righteous, the purest. 56:13 So, in the end, we can slip because of 56:16 that arrogance. Now, what you are 56:21 feeling, Mother, is the correct feeling 56:25 —feeling insecure about the hereafter 56:29 —because this is commanded and 56:33 characterized by Allah Subhanahu wa 56:37 ta'ala for those who establish prayer. 56:43 May Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala accept 56:45 all our acts of worship. Even if there 56:49 are many imperfections in our deeds, 56:52 through Allah's mercy, our humbleness 56:55 before Him, and our lack of arrogance, 56:58 Allah will surely accept them. Yes. 57:04 Conversely, no matter how good or how 57:07 many deeds a person has, if they are 57:09 arrogant, they will be cast out from 57:12 Allah's mercy. It will not be accepted 57:16 by Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. 57:17 Nauzubillah. Wallahualam. 57:20 Yes, alright. The next question 57:25 is from Ibu Fani. 57:28 Assalamu'alaikum warahmatullahi 57:29 wabarakatuh, Ustaz. Wa'alaikumussalam 57:31 warahmatullahi wabarakatuh. 57:32 Yes, Ustaz, may I ask a question? In 57:34 the Qur'an, it is often mentioned by 57:37 Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala that those 57:39 who believe and do righteous deeds are 57:42 promised entry into heaven, forgiveness 57:44 of sins, and so on. 57:47 The question is, what is meant by " 57:49 believers" in the Qur'an so that we can 57:51 attain such faith and righteous deeds, 57:53 including dhikr, and how do we practice 57:56 the faith intended by the Qur'an? 57:58 Syukran. Yes. This is what is contained 58:04 in the Qur'an; most notably, it is 58:07 repeated more than 50 times. 58:11 Yes. So, if you want to know what the 58:16 key to heaven is, who will enter heaven 58:21 ? It's not because of, "Oh, they are 58:24 from group A, B, or C," that's not it. 58:28 Those who will enter heaven are " 58:30 alladzina amanu wa amilus shihat." 58:33 These are the ones who will enter 58:34 Paradise. Allah mentions it more than 58:38 50 times. Allah is the owner of 58:40 Paradise. The Almighty Allah later in 58:44 the hereafter gives us the leak, the 58:47 secret. Who will enter Paradise? " 58:49 Alladzina amanu wa 'amilush-shalihat"( 58:50 Those who believe and do righteous 58:51 deeds). That is it. This is the word of 58:54 Allah. Allah is the one saying it; He 58:56 owns Paradise. So if there are other 58:58 claims, "Oh, if you join my group, you 59:00 will enter Paradise.""Says who? The 59:03 person themselves?" That is not 59:05 necessarily the case. Yes, this is the 59:08 word of Allah. Allah is the one 59:10 speaking. Allah is the owner of 59:13 Paradise and Hell. Allah says those who 59:16 will enter Paradise are those who 59:18 believe and do righteous deeds. 59:20 Repeatedly. "Amanu" means believing in 59:23 Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. Faith 59:26 resides in the heart, says the Prophet. 59:28 It means believing in the existence of 59:30 Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. But it is 59:31 not just that. In the past, those 59:34 before the arrival of the message from 59:37 the Prophet, people who had not yet 59:40 been reached by the messengers, some 59:44 believed in Allah. They believed and 59:47 were certain of the existence of Allah 59:50 who created this universe. They were 59:54 certain of the Day of Judgment, but 59:56 they did not know the details of it. 59:59 Now, in it is explained by Allah 1:00:03 Subhanahu wa ta'ala in Surah An-Nisa. 1:00:06 What is the definition of faith? It is 1:00:09 mentioned in Surah An-Nisa, "wa man 1:00:12 yakfur billahi wa mala'ikatihi wa 1:00:15 kutubihi wa rusulihi wal-yaumil-akhiri 1:00:18 faqad dalla dalalan ba'ida." Whoever 1:00:22 disbelieves, meaning, the believers are 1:00:28 those who believe in Allah, in His 1:00:36 angels, in His books, in the Last Day, 1:00:47 "wa yu'minu billahi wa mala'ikatihi wa 1:00:49 kutubihi wa rusulihi" and His 1:00:51 messengers and the Last Day, that is 1:00:53 believing in them. And in another verse 1:00:57 , about Allah's destiny, the decree of 1:01:01 Allah in this universe, everything has 1:01:06 been determined by Allah. Everything 1:01:11 that exists in this nature, Allah 1:01:13 created. Besides creating it, Allah 1:01:16 determined its condition, Allah 1:01:19 determined its specifications, and 1:01:22 Allah determined its tendencies. Its 1:01:26 properties are part of Allah's decree. 1:01:31 "Wa khalaqa kulla syai'in fa qaddarahu 1:01:33 taqdiran." Allah created everything and 1:01:37 then determined its measure. Meaning 1:01:40 its specifications are like that. Like 1:01:44 fire created by Allah, its nature is 1:01:46 hot like that. Water created by Allah, 1:01:51 how it is cool, cold, and so on, can 1:01:55 evaporate at a certain temperature and 1:02:00 can freeze at a certain temperature. 1:02:04 Those are the decrees that Allah has 1:02:06 determined. That is what is called 1:02:08 destiny (taqdir). It is determined that 1:02:14 inside our bodies, blood is pumped by 1:02:18 the heart. The heart does what? It 1:02:22 circulates blood throughout the body, 1:02:24 then returns it to the heart to be 1:02:26 cleansed. All of that is the decree of 1:02:29 Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. That is the 1:02:31 meaning of destiny. But indeed, in this 1:02:34 Surah An-Nisa, the issue of destiny is 1:02:37 not mentioned, but it is stated in 1:02:40 other verses. So, *wam yakfur billah*, 1:02:45 this is in, uh, in Surah, uh, what uh, 1:02:51 An-Nisa. Yeah. The verse yes, verse 136 1:03:02 , right. Yes, verse 136. Now, this, if 1:03:07 in the Hadith, is what we know as the 1:03:09 pillars of faith. The pillars of faith 1:03:12 are mentioned as six, right? If here, 1:03:15 in Surah An-Nisa, only, uh, five are 1:03:18 mentioned in order. Faith in Allah, in 1:03:24 His angels, His books, uh, His 1:03:27 messengers, in the, uh, Last Day. Yes, 1:03:32 this is the definition of faith. To 1:03:36 believe means to be certain about all 1:03:38 of that. Then righteous deeds, the 1:03:41 meaning of righteous deeds is good 1:03:43 deeds. "Saleh" means something worthy, 1:03:46 something good. All good deeds. There 1:03:51 are righteous deeds that are of a " 1:03:53 mahdah"(pure) worship nature, like that 1:03:56 . Worship that is specific, which was 1:03:59 explained by our Prophet Muhammad, 1:04:02 peace be upon him. There are righteous 1:04:06 deeds that because there are so many, 1:04:10 they are not, they are not detailed as 1:04:12 such. All goodness, yes, in our 1:04:18 dealings, in our social relations, in 1:04:21 interacting with humans, there are many 1:04:25 good things that are not detailed as 1:04:28 such. Because the meaning of this 1:04:32 goodness, perhaps in the Prophet's time 1:04:35 , things, if they are not pure worship, 1:04:40 they have certainly been exemplified, 1:04:42 and in the Prophet's time, in broad 1:04:44 outlines, everything had been 1:04:46 exemplified. But sometimes there are 1:04:50 righteous deeds now where the broad 1:04:55 outline is the same, but in practice, 1:04:58 it adjusts to current conditions, like 1:05:02 that. Actually, there are many, if in 1:05:06 the past to provide, for example, a 1:05:11 drink, oh, it was a righteous deed to 1:05:13 dig a well. Nowadays, we don't dig 1:05:16 wells anymore, we use pumps, for 1:05:18 example. Uh, using a jet pump or 1:05:21 flowing water through pipes, water 1:05:23 purification, all of that is part of 1:05:26 righteous deeds. But there is no 1:05:28 example exactly like it was in the past 1:05:31 . But this is part of righteous deeds. 1:05:36 So, these righteous deeds, there are 1:05:38 those directly exemplified by the 1:05:41 Prophet and practiced directly. Now, 1:05:45 there are those that indeed can be seen 1:05:51 later from the aspect of their 1:05:53 usefulness and also seen from the 1:05:54 aspect of their goodness for oneself 1:06:00 and others, like that. Now, this, of 1:06:03 course, for pure worship, we follow 1:06:06 what was exemplified by our Prophet 1:06:08 Muhammad, peace be upon him. And " 1:06:11 mahdah" is worship that is what? Uh, 1:06:16 its procedures are determined, like 1:06:18 that, so surely we refer to our Prophet 1:06:20 Muhammad, peace be upon him. In other 1:06:24 things. Basically, we refer to the 1:06:27 Prophet, but in the application, it is 1:06:30 sometimes different, such as in 1:06:33 education. Education in the Prophet's 1:06:36 time is different from education in our 1:06:40 time. In our time, there are various 1:06:44 tools used, various means used, like us 1:06:47 using this audio-visual. In the 1:06:51 Prophet's time, it wasn't like that. 1:06:52 But the essence is the same in 1:06:54 education. The means also refer to what 1:06:58 was exemplified by the Prophet. So it 1:07:01 is like that. So this is the key to who 1:07:04 will enter the paradise of Allah 1:07:06 Subhanahu wa ta'ala. Faith, in 1:07:09 accordance with what is mentioned by 1:07:11 Allah in the Quran earlier, and 1:07:13 righteous deeds. Wallahu'alam (Allah 1:07:16 knows best). 1:07:17 Yes. Alright. We go to the next 1:07:21 question from a servant of Allah. 1:07:24 Assalamu'alaikum warahmatullahi 1:07:25 wabarakatuh, Ustaz Hamzah, may Allah 1:07:27 have mercy on you. 1:07:28 Wa'alaikumussalam warahmatullahi 1:07:30 wabarakatuh. 1:07:30 Ustaz, I am very afraid of my past sins 1:07:34 . I have repented but I worry it is not 1:07:38 enough and I feel I haven't been 1:07:40 forgiven. 1:07:41 I feel uneasy, and keep feeling guilty 1:07:44 because of the gravity of my sins. To 1:07:48 the point that I experience anxiety, 1:07:50 panic, and worry about my disgrace. Am 1:07:54 I thinking ill of Allah? If I keep 1:07:58 having feelings like this, what will 1:08:00 happen when I am called by Allah? 1:08:03 Thank you for the enlightenment. 1:08:06 Yes. Are we, what is it, over what? 1:08:10 Overconfident. No, that shouldn't be 1:08:12 the case. Meaning, we shouldn't think 1:08:16 that we are already pure. Fala tuzakku 1:08:19 anfusakum. Allah says, do not claim 1:08:23 yourselves to be pure like that. 1:08:28 Yes. Because Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala 1:08:31 ...Innallaha yuzakki man yasya. It is 1:08:33 Allah who purifies whomever He wills. 1:08:36 But we also shouldn't feel hopeless, 1:08:40 shouldn't feel that Allah Subhanahu wa 1:08:44 ta'ala won't forgive. Allah has 1:08:47 promised, hasn't He? Innallaha ghafurur 1:08:50 rahim. Innallaha la yaghfiru an 1:08:53 yushraka bihi wa yaghfiru ma duna 1:08:56 dhalika liman yasya. Indeed, Allah will 1:08:59 forgive sins. Indeed, Allah does not 1:09:05 forgive if He is associated with 1:09:08 something. But Allah will forgive sins 1:09:10 other than shirk (polytheism). Meaning 1:09:13 if he repents...To those whom Allah 1:09:17 wills. Allah will forgive any sin 1:09:20 whatsoever. No matter how great, Allah 1:09:24 will forgive it. As long as we want to 1:09:27 repent. So don't worry, this is a 1:09:30 promise directly from Allah. It is in 1:09:32 the Holy Quran. Innallaha ghafurur 1:09:35 rahim. Yes, like that. Allah says, "Ya' 1:09:40 ibadi-lladhina asrafu 'ala anfusihim la 1:09:42 taqnatu mir rahmatillah." O My servants 1:09:47 . Allah calls out like that. O My 1:09:52 servants who have transgressed against 1:09:53 themselves. La taqnatu mir rahmatillah. 1:09:58 Do not despair of the mercy of Allah. 1:10:01 Yes, innallaha yaghfirudh-dhunuba 1:10:04 jami'a. Yes. Indeed, Allah Subhanahu wa 1:10:10 ta'ala will forgive all sins. Yes. Yes. 1:10:16 So, Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala reminds 1:10:19 us, la taqnatu, do not despair. Uh. 1:10:29 Just a moment, let me find the verse. 1:10:35 This is in Surah Az-Zumar, verse 53. 1:10:39 Qul ya' ibadi-lladhina asrafu......la 1:10:44 taqnatu mir rahmatillah, innallaha 1:10:47 yaghfirudh-dhunuba jami'a, innahu 1:10:50 huwal-ghafurur rahim. Say, O Messenger, 1:10:54 "O My servants." Yes. Say, "O servants 1:10:58 of Allah." Alladhina asrafu 'ala 1:11:02 anfusihim. Those who have transgressed 1:11:06 against themselves, la taqnatu mir 1:11:08 rahmatillah. Do not despair of the 1:11:11 mercy of Allah. "It means if you want 1:11:14 to repent and ask Allah for forgiveness 1:11:17 for the sins you have committed, do not 1:11:19 despair. Innallaha yagfirudzunuba jamia 1:11:24 . Indeed, Allah will forgive all sins 1:11:27 if a person repents. Yes, if they 1:11:31 repent. Innahu gfururahim. Yes, indeed 1:11:36 He is the Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. 1:11:39 Like that, yes. So, by taking guidance 1:11:44 from the Quran, we are reminded not to 1:11:48 be too overconfident, which could lead 1:11:52 us to pride. And don't be too, what? 1:11:58 But earlier, what, feeling, uh, meaning 1:12:04 feeling vile, feeling full of sin like 1:12:09 that, 1:12:10 yes. If we have repented, be certain 1:12:14 that Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala will 1:12:16 forgive our sins. It means repentance, 1:12:20 especially if it relates to Allah. We 1:12:24 repent, regret our actions, and fill 1:12:26 them with goodness, right. Repent. But 1:12:31 if it's repentance regarding other 1:12:33 humans, then we must do good to those 1:12:36 people. If we took their property, we 1:12:39 must return it. If we have, what, 1:12:43 badmouthed or slandered them, we must 1:12:49 clarify it. So, that is how you cover 1:12:55 bad deeds with good ones. So, Allah 1:13:00 mentions*illalladzina tabu wa aslahu wa 1:13:05 bayyanu*like that, yes. Except those 1:13:10 who repent, *wa aslahu*(and reform 1:13:13 themselves), yes, *wabayanu*is if there 1:13:19 is an issue where they spoke ill of 1:13:21 someone, oh they made a mistake, yes, 1:13:23 it must be clarified, like," Oh, I was 1:13:26 wrong before to accuse someone like 1:13:28 this, in reality it is... "asking for 1:13:31 forgiveness from that person and 1:13:33 explaining the mistake. Especially now 1:13:37 through social media, yes. If they 1:13:41 spread it on social media, they must 1:13:43 spread again 1:13:46 their apology and say, explaining that 1:13:49 what I said before was not true. Yes, 1:13:53 sometimes, indeed, uh bad news is 1:14:00 usually heard by many, but good news by 1:14:02 few. That is why it is dangerous. 1:14:06 Therefore, before it happens, we should 1:14:09 be careful in using social media. This 1:14:14 is part of the conditions of repentance 1:14:18 . 1:14:18 Yes. 1:14:18 If, uh, what, uh it relates to, uh, 1:14:28 actions that involve other people. This 1:14:32 is in Surah Al-Baqarah verse 160. 1:14:35 Illalladzina tabu wa aslahu wa bayyanu 1:14:38 faulaika atubu alaihim. A guarantee 1:14:40 from Allah. Except for those who repent 1:14:44 , *wa aslahu*and reform themselves, and 1:14:46 *wabayanu*and clarify it. Yes, clarify, 1:14:50 for example, the mistake they 1:14:52 previously stated. This means this is 1:14:55 for things of a public nature. If their 1:14:59 mistake is, for example, hidden, like 1:15:02 committing a sin in private, it does 1:15:05 not need to be broadcasted or shown; 1:15:08 just bury it. But if it relates to 1:15:14 ruining someone else's reputation, then 1:15:16 it must be clarified. Allah says this 1:15:21 is the guarantee, *faulaika atubu 1:15:23 alaihim*, for those, I will accept 1:15:24 their repentance. Wa an tawaburahim. I 1:15:28 am the Acceptor of repentance, the Most 1:15:31 Merciful. Like that. This is a 1:15:33 guarantee from Allah Subhanahu wa 1:15:35 ta'ala. Wallahu'alam. 1:15:37 Yes. All right. Next question from Mr. 1:15:41 Adi. Peace be upon you, Ustaz. Hamzah. 1:15:45 And peace be upon you too. Ustaz, on 1:15:49 social media, there is a video showing 1:15:52 that before the flash floods that 1:15:54 killed many people in Nepal, there were 1:15:56 incidents of mosques and Muslim homes 1:15:58 being burned. I think surely among the 1:16:03 victims there were also Muslims, not 1:16:05 just those who committed the oppression 1:16:08 . How does Ustaz view this matter? 1:16:12 Thank you. 1:16:13 Yes. Uh. When, uh, usually when a 1:16:19 person is negligent in enjoining good 1:16:22 and forbidding evil. Yes, they just 1:16:27 focus on their own worship but do not 1:16:29 care about the sins around them; if 1:16:32 punishment descends, they usually get 1:16:35 hit by it too. They are hit by the 1:16:38 punishment. But later when they are 1:16:40 resurrected, they are not necessarily 1:16:43 classified among those who committed 1:16:45 the sins. There is a hadith of the 1:16:49 Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant 1:16:51 him peace, which we often read in the 1:16:53 book of Riyadus Sholihin. The Prophet 1:16:56 once said," Yaghzu jaisunil Ka'bata. " 1:17:00 Later, there will be an army that will 1:17:03 attack the Kaaba. Yes, God knows when 1:17:10 this will happen. But the Prophet once 1:17:13 said that." Faidha kanu bibayda'a minal 1:17:16 ardhi, "" Yukhsa'u bi-awwalihim wa 1:17:21 akhirihim, "as the Prophet, may Allah 1:17:23 bless him and grant him peace, said. 1:17:28 But when they are in what? In a vast 1:17:31 desert, before they reach the point of 1:17:33 destroying the Kaaba. Before they reach 1:17:36 it, Allah sinks them, from the first to 1:17:39 the last. Meaning, everyone there is 1:17:43 hit by that punishment. Allah's 1:17:46 punishment. Then, Sayyidatina Aisyah 1:17:50 said," O Messenger of Allah, among them 1:17:53 there are... ""...those who are not one 1:17:57 of them. "" Like that, O Messenger of 1:17:59 Allah. "When punishment descends, 1:18:01 everyone gets hit, right? Even though 1:18:04 there are those there who are not among 1:18:06 the people who want to destroy the 1:18:08 Kaaba like that, yet they get hit by 1:18:10 the punishment too. The Prophet said," 1:18:15 Yukhsa'u bi-awwalihim wa akhirihim, wa 1:18:17 yub'athuna' ala niyyatihim. "They are 1:18:21 indeed affected by the punishment, the 1:18:24 disaster hits them, everyone there is 1:18:26 affected. But later, when they are 1:18:32 resurrected on the Day of Judgment, 1:18:35 they will be resurrected according to 1:18:38 their intentions; those who did not 1:18:41 want to destroy the Kaaba will not be 1:18:44 grouped with them. So when punishment 1:18:48 comes, especially when Allah is 1:18:53 wrathful, when there is no enjoining of 1:18:57 good and forbidding of evil, usually 1:18:59 Allah sends down punishment, and when 1:19:02 it descends, it is usually 1:19:05 comprehensive. Meaning, those who did 1:19:09 not commit those sins are also affected 1:19:12 . But surely, later when...they are 1:19:17 resurrected, it will be according to 1:19:19 their deeds and their intentions. But 1:19:23 Allah reminds us every time there is a 1:19:26 disaster like that. This is actually 1:19:31 also a warning. When you are not aware, 1:19:36 not paying attention to the sins around 1:19:39 you, it will bring Allah's punishment. 1:19:44 When Allah's punishment arrives, it 1:19:48 means it will strike both the righteous 1:19:51 and those who are not righteous. It 1:19:54 will affect everyone when the 1:19:55 punishment arrives. God knows best. 1:19:59 Yes. Very well, Ustaz. That was the 1:20:01 final question for this evening. Yes, 1:20:03 please provide your concluding remarks. 1:20:05 Yes, from what Allah Subhanahu wa 1:20:08 ta'ala—what we read earlier and in 1:20:10 accordance with what Allah Subhanahu wa 1:20:13 ta'ala has explained. How it is truly 1:20:17 important for us to increase our deeds 1:20:20 of worship, as there are so many paths 1:20:23 to goodness, and also to always 1:20:26 remember Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. 1:20:31 Because this is the essence and the 1:20:34 great purpose behind when we recite 1:20:38 tasbih, tahmid, tahlil, or perform our 1:20:43 prayers; the goal is so that we always 1:20:47 remember Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. 1:20:51 That is all I can convey, hopefully it 1:20:53 is beneficial. Billahi taufik 1:20:56 walhidayah. Peace be upon you, and 1:20:58 Allah's mercy and blessings. And peace 1:21:00 be upon you, and Allah's mercy and 1:21:03 blessings. Brothers and sisters who are 1:21:05 honored by Allah. That concludes our 1:21:06 evening lecture for today. May it bring 1:21:08 benefits to us all. I would like to 1:21:12 thank Ustaz Hamzah Alatas who has 1:21:13 shared his knowledge this evening. We 1:21:17 also do not forget to thank our 1:21:19 brothers and sisters who have 1:21:20 faithfully listened and participated. 1:21:23 We apologize if there are any questions 1:21:25 that were not answered this evening. 1:21:28 Well, I, Riska Agustin, Yusuf Subangkit 1:21:30 , and Ondi Syaputra, along with all our 1:21:33 crew from Selah Indonesia, bid you 1:21:35 farewell. Please forgive any mistakes 1:21:38 and shortcomings. Glory be to You, O 1:21:39 Allah, and with Your praise, I bear 1:21:41 witness that there is no god but You, I 1:21:42 seek Your forgiveness and repent to You 1:21:43 . And peace be upon you, and Allah's 1:21:45 mercy and blessings.
