Peace be upon you, and the 0:48 mercy of Allah and His blessings. 0:49 Brothers and sisters who are blessed by 0:50 Allah. We are very happy for this 0:52 opportunity to meet again with our 0:54 brothers and sisters in the program " 0:56 Reflections Under the Shade of the 0:58 Qur'an" with our teacher, Ustaz Husein 1:00 Alatas. Currently, I, Rizal Haq, along 1:04 with Kang Ondi Saputra and Anis Mualim, 1:07 will, God willing, accompany you to 1:09 listen to the study delivered by our 1:12 teacher, Ustaz Husein Alatas. However, 1:16 we would like to inform you that Mr. 1:17 Krishna, who usually accompanies Ustaz 1:19 Husein, is currently not feeling well, 1:21 brothers and sisters. Please pray for 1:24 his swift and complete recovery by 1:27 Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala, so he can 1:29 return to join us in the program " 1:32 Reflections Under the Shade of the 1:34 Qur'an" with Ustaz Alatas. On this 1:38 occasion, we will study the theme: " 1:41 Whatever good you receive is entirely 1:44 from Allah, while evil...""...is from 1:50 yourself." That is correct, Ustaz. Yes. 1:52 Alright, before we listen to the study, 1:54 let us begin by reciting Al-Fatihah 1:56 together, which will be led directly by 1:58 Ustaz. 1:59 I seek refuge in Allah from the 2:01 accursed Satan. In the name of Allah, 2:05 the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. 2:10 Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. 2:16 The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. 2:20 Master of the Day of Judgment. You 2:25 alone we worship, and You alone we ask 2:27 for help. Guide us to the straight path 2:34 . The path of those upon whom You have 2:40 bestowed Your favor. Not of those who 2:44 have evoked [Your] anger or of those 2:45 who are astray. In the name of Allah, 3:01 the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. 3:05 Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. 3:09 O Allah, send peace and blessings upon 3:12 Your servant and messenger, our master 3:15 and prophet, Muhammad, and upon his 3:17 family and companions. Glory be to You, 3:22 we have no knowledge except what You 3:24 have taught us. Indeed, it is You who 3:27 is the All-Knowing, the Wise. And there 3:30 is no power and no strength except by 3:32 Allah, the Exalted, the Almighty. O 3:37 Allah, grant us mercy from Yourself and 3:40 grant us knowledge from You, and bestow 3:43 upon us......knowledge. To proceed. 3:53 Brothers and sisters, listeners and 3:56 viewers of Radio and TV Silaturahim. 3:59 May you be blessed by Allah. Kang Rizal 4:02 who is accompanying us this morning. 4:06 Along with all the production crew in 4:10 the studio, Ustaz Abul Hasan Asyadili, 4:13 Ustaz Alfan Sunardi, all Muslim men and 4:17 women, and to all......our brothers and 4:22 sisters of the same nation, the same 4:24 homeland, and even the same human 4:26 family. May peace from Allah be upon 4:29 you all, along with His mercy and 4:30 blessings. 4:31 Peace be upon you, and the mercy of 4:33 Allah and His blessings. In the midst 4:38 of the crisis faced by our nation, in 4:44 the midst of political turmoil, where 4:52 some people compete to grab 4:57 opportunities for positions for the 5:02 sake of worldly pleasure. Not to guard, 5:06 protect the interests of the people, 5:09 and ensure their welfare, but they 5:15 enjoy themselves upon the suffering of 5:17 their own people. Job opportunities are 5:23 becoming more difficult, prices of food 5:25 and basic necessities are soaring high. 5:30 All of this raises questions in the 5:35 hearts of the community. Why is all of 5:37 this happening? What is the cause? The 5:43 Qur'an answers the questions 5:46 and the complaints felt by us all. 5:55 Allah says, "Whatever good comes to you 5:57 is from Allah, and whatever evil comes 5:59 to you is from your own self. And We 6:02 have sent you, [O Muhammad], to the 6:04 people as a messenger, and sufficient 6:06 is Allah as Witness." O mankind, 6:12 whatever good you receive, know that it 6:15 is all from Allah. Whether you receive 6:21 it directly from Allah without an 6:23 intermediary or through causes and 6:25 intermediaries of creation. who live 6:30 with you. Without God’s will, without 6:33 God’s permission, it will not reach 6:34 you. Conversely, "wama asobaka min 6:40 sayiatin famin nafsik." But the evil 6:43 that befalls you, realize that in truth 6:46 it all comes from yourself. "Wa 6:50 arsalnaka lin-nasi rasula." And We have 6:54 sent you among mankind as a messenger 6:57 to explain this truth. Providing 7:01 guidance and direction for you on how 7:03 you can live your worldly life on the 7:08 straight path to reach your goals, both 7:12 in this world and in the hereafter, to 7:15 become those who are saved and 7:18 successful. "Billahi syahida." And 7:23 sufficient is God as a witness 7:24 testifying to the truthfulness of His 7:26 messenger, who was sent among you for 7:28 your own benefit. Not for God’s 7:31 interest or the messenger’s gain. In 7:36 fact, he did not ask for any wage for 7:38 the work he performed. "Qul la 7:41 as'alukum 'alaihi ajra." 7:44 Say, announce O Messenger of God, I do 7:47 not ask for any wage for what I convey 7:50 to you, which is entirely for your own 7:53 benefit. "In ajriya illa' alallah." My 7:57 reward is entirely from God. Because I 8:01 work for Him, not for you. So I was 8:06 assigned by God to bring this guidance 8:08 to you. While my reward comes from God, 8:11 not from you. The arrival of the 8:14 Messenger was not to burden mankind. It 8:16 was precisely a mercy for them. 8:19 Bringing light amidst the darkness of 8:21 their lives. Bringing solutions to what 8:24 ? To every difficulty they face. Thus, 8:28 it is fitting for our Messenger to 8:31 receive such praise from God Almighty. 8:35 "Wa innaka la'ala khuluqin 'azim." And 8:37 in accordance with the mission God 8:39 entrusted to him. "Wa arsalnaka illa 8:41 rahmatan lil-' alamin." Now, let us 8:45 return to verse 79 of Surah An-Nisa. 8:49 Whatever good you receive, it all comes 8:51 from God, while the evil that befalls 8:56 you comes from your own self. Amirul 9:00 Mukminin, Imam Ali, may God be pleased 9:02 with him, once reminded us of this. He, 9:11 in several verses, reminds us that what 9:18 he uttered through these poetic lines 9:20 are excerpts from God’s verses: "Wa 9:28 dawa'uka minka," O man, know that your 9:33 cure is actually within you, but you do 9:36 not feel it, you do not realize it. "Wa 9:43 da'uka minka," your illness stems from 9:45 your own actions, but you deny it, not 9:47 only denying it but even seeking 9:49 scapegoats to justify your wrongdoings, 9:56 "Wa taḥsabu annaka jirmun ṣaghīr, 9:58 wa fīka inṭawa al-ʿālamu al-akbar. 10:01 " You view yourself as a small, 10:03 insignificant object. Whereas, in 10:06 reality, within you lies the secret of 10:08 the vast universe. Why? Because man was 10:12 not created for the earth, and what is 10:14 on earth was created for man, while 10:17 what is on earth is entrusted as a 10:19 mandate by God to man. So, how low and 10:22 despicable is the human purpose of life 10:24 if he lives only to pursue objects, 10:26 material things, and the fleeting 10:28 satisfaction of desires. Because he was 10:31 not created for this. He was created 10:33 for God. Whereas the world was created 10:36 for them, for all of us. Why do we 10:38 instead become slaves and servants of 10:40 the world? "Wa taḥsabu annaka jirmun 10:46 ṣaghīr." You view yourself as low 10:49 and you view yourself as small. Whereas 10:51 you are the great universe. Akbar, 10:55 within you lies a great secret. Allah 10:59 created humans to know their Lord, to 11:01 be grateful to Him, and then what? When 11:05 they worship Allah, that worship is an 11:07 outpouring of gratitude. It is not out 11:11 of compulsion, but rather from someone 11:13 fully dependent on their Lord, full of 11:15 gratitude for all the blessings 11:17 received. Now, Allah promises that for 11:20 those who are grateful, He will add 11:21 more. For those who are ungrateful, 11:24 Allah will ignore them. "La'in 11:26 shakartum la'azidannakum, wa la'in 11:28 kafartum inna 'adhabi lashadid." In 11:33 Surah Fatir, Allah says, "Ma 11:35 yaftahillahu lin-nasi mir-rahmatin fala 11:39 mumsika laha." Then "Wa huwal-' 11:56 azizul-hakim." Whatever mercy Allah 12:02 opens up for His servants, no one can 12:06 stop or withhold it. If Allah wants to 12:12 bestow His mercy upon His obedient 12:14 servant, who walks on the straight path 12:16 , even if all creation tries to hinder 12:18 it, they will not be able to block 12:20 Allah's mercy for the servant whom 12:22 Allah wills, who follows His guidance 12:24 and walks upon His pleasure. But 12:27 conversely, "wa ma yumsik." And if 12:31 Allah withholds His mercy from a 12:33 servant, naturally those who are 12:35 ungrateful, who oppose Allah, who do 12:38 not honor or respect the greatness and 12:40 majesty of Allah, "fala mursila lahu 12:42 min ba'dih"—even if all creatures try 12:45 to make Allah open His mercy, not one 12:47 of them has the power to do so, even if 12:50 they work together. Then Allah 12:55 concludes, "wa huwal- 'azizul-hakim," 12:57 and He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. 13:00 Meaning, even though Allah is 13:02 All-Mighty, no creature has the power 13:04 to oppose Him. He is not arbitrary as 13:09 we witness in human life. If a person 13:13 has power, they will act oppressively 13:15 and arbitrarily. He is All-Mighty, but 13:19 All-Wise. Where Allah's will is never 13:22 arbitrary. Likewise is Allah's 13:25 treatment of His servants. In fact, 13:30 Kang Rizal, humans commit sins, yet 13:33 Allah's mercy and provisions still 13:35 descend upon them. Humans turn away 13:38 from Allah, yet Allah calls out to them 13:40 as if He is the one in need of them. 13:42 Even though it is they who need Allah. 13:45 Allah's mercy descends from the heavens 13:47 to them, while their sins ascend to 13:49 Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. Yet humans 13:52 still slander Allah, accusing Him with 13:55 false allegations. That their suffering 13:59 is Allah's decree. Allah never decreed 14:02 people to suffer, but Allah decreed 14:05 these paths. If you do not follow them, 14:09 you step off the path of happiness, 14:11 success, and honor that Allah has shown 14:13 . If you do not follow it, then you 14:17 will naturally walk toward ruin and 14:19 destruction. But Allah never forces 14:22 anyone to walk on the path of 14:23 destruction. Instead, Allah promises 14:27 that if someone steps toward Him a span 14:28 , He will approach them a cubit. If 14:32 they come to Allah a cubit, He will 14:34 approach them an arm's length. If they 14:37 walk, Allah will run to meet them. 14:39 Meaning Allah's mercy arrives faster 14:42 than a servant comes to Him. But why do 14:47 humans still think ill of Allah? Whom 14:50 are they following? They are following 14:52 the devil. When Allah tested Iblis at 14:56 that time, he was still, uh, what was 14:59 he? A Jinn not yet cursed to be the 15:01 devil cast out from Allah's mercy to 15:03 prostrate to Adam. If he had prostrated 15:06 then, he would have become a noble 15:08 being. But unfortunately, his arrogance 15:12 and envy refused to let him prostrate 15:15 to Adam. Then he spoke before Allah 15:17 after Allah granted him a reprieve 15:19 until the Day of Judgment. "Because You 15:23 have misguided me, O my Lord.""I will 15:33 sit on every straight path to intercept 15:36 those who want to walk there.""Then I 15:47 will approach them from before them and 15:49 from behind them, from their right and 15:51 from their left, so you will not find 15:54 most of them grateful." Meaning, the 15:57 devil will come from various directions 15:59 and ways. Through children, through 16:03 spouses, through ambition. Right? 16:06 Through various ways to make this 16:08 person turn away from their purpose in 16:11 life. Once they turn their face toward 16:15 the devil and abandon Allah, they 16:17 plunge themselves into misery. So, O 16:23 mankind, whatever good you receive, it 16:25 all comes from Allah. He is the one who 16:29 opens the doors of His mercy without 16:30 permission from others. Even if you 16:32 struggle day and night, or are even 16:34 supported by all creation, you will not 16:36 receive it. But whatever evil befalls 16:40 you is actually caused by you. As 16:43 stated in Allah’s word, "Zoharal 16:45 fasadu fil barri wal bahri bima kasabat 16:48 aidinnas." Corruption has appeared on 16:50 land and sea because of what the hands 16:52 of people have earned. Pollution found 16:55 on land. Who is the culprit? Pollution 16:58 also found in the ocean. Who is the 17:00 culprit? Long ago, more than 14 17:03 centuries before the massive 17:05 destruction on earth, on land and in 17:07 the sea. Allah had already informed 17:11 that the cause of all that is you. 17:16 Until Allah said, "wa ma asobakum min 17:18 musibatin fabima kasabat aidikum." 17:23 Whatever disaster befalls you is caused 17:26 by your own deeds. Wa ya'fu' an kathir, 17:29 Allah still holds back, not punishing 17:32 everyone for their evil deeds. But 17:34 Allah still restrains, at most only 17:38 sending down warnings to remind you. If 17:43 Allah punished humans according to 17:45 their deeds, there would not be a 17:47 single crawling creature left on earth. 17:56 If Allah punished humans, yes, 17:58 according to their deeds, then Allah 18:01 would not leave a single crawling 18:03 creature. Mankind. But Allah postpones 18:11 their final judgment until the Day of 18:14 Judgment. In the world, Allah gives the 18:16 opportunity to repent for those who 18:18 have the chance. Then someone asks, " 18:22 Ustaz, I did not commit the crime, the 18:27 sin was committed by others. Then I am 18:32 affected by the consequences." What is 18:34 my sin? The answer is, "Your sin is 18:38 because you remained silent when others 18:40 did wrong." We are social beings, 18:44 similar to people who are, what? Riding 18:47 on a ship. Like the parable the Prophet 18:50 gave regarding his community. The ship 18:53 they were on consisted of two decks. 18:58 Some stayed on top, some stayed be- 19:01 below. Those living below, every time 19:04 they wanted to get water, had to go up. 19:10 Over time they said to themselves, if 19:12 we keep doing this, besides being 19:14 tiring, it also disturbs the people 19:16 above. It would be better if we bore a 19:20 hole in the boat to get water. If those 19:24 above allow those below to do that, 19:27 then this vessel will sink and destroy 19:30 them all. Therefore, what should be 19:33 done? Those above should be grateful to 19:35 God and help those below. They should 19:39 not feel annoyed when they pass by. In 19:42 the end, they took the wrong approach, 19:45 causing them all to perish. Well, the 19:48 Indonesian nation is likened to people 19:50 who are in the same vessel. If leaders 19:55 make mistakes, be it the executive, 19:58 legislative, or judicial officials, as 20:02 well as the scholars, if they commit 20:06 errors, those who will suffer are not 20:09 just those directly affected by their 20:13 mistakes; even those who remain silent 20:17 will suffer the same calamity. 20:21 Therefore, Allah says in Surah Al-Anfal 20:22 , "Wattaqu fitnatan la 20:23 tushibannalladzina zhalamu minkum 20:25 khassah." Beware of a trial or disaster 20:31 that will not only strike those among 20:35 you who are wrongdoers. If you remain 20:39 silent about injustice, without 20:41 rebuking or seeking reform, when 20:43 disaster strikes, you will all be 20:46 affected by that punishment. Therefore, 20:52 officials above must be aware—the 20:54 executives, the legislators, the 20:56 judiciary—that they rose to the top 20:59 because they were chosen by the people 21:01 and given trust. If they do not carry 21:06 out the mandate given by God and the 21:09 trust given by the people, and the 21:11 people also remain silent, sitting idly 21:14 by, only looking after themselves when 21:17 disaster comes. Then it will be 21:20 widespread. Whereas those whom Allah 21:22 saves are only those who are faithful 21:24 in enjoining good and forbidding evil. 21:27 Now, this enjoining good and forbidding 21:30 evil is a social obligation. A social 21:34 obligation. 21:34 Where we are obliged to remind one 21:37 another, "Wat tawasau bil haqqi wat 21:39 tawasau bis sabr." But if in a village 21:43 some commit crimes while others remain 21:46 silent, or even gather together 21:48 although they do not commit the crime, 21:51 accepting gifts, accepting envelopes, 21:53 and even praying for them to have long 21:56 lives. Then those who pray and receive 22:00 benefits, even if they do not commit 22:01 the crime directly, Allah Subhanahu wa 22:03 Ta'ala will punish them. Especially if 22:06 the ones taking benefits are scholars 22:08 who associate with oppressors who make 22:10 the people miserable. Then these 22:13 scholars, before the idolaters, and 22:15 even before the criminals, will be 22:17 called by Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. So 22:21 we must remember that we are social 22:23 beings. Therefore, we are truly 22:27 obligated to look after one another. If 22:31 the people appoint a leader, whoever he 22:33 may be, if they see their leader making 22:35 a mistake, the people must not remain 22:37 silent. They must rise up and rebuke 22:39 them. Do not have some people who are 22:42 advantaged by siding with the 22:44 authorities defend them at all costs. 22:47 While those who are disadvantaged 22:49 criticize the authorities excessively 22:52 in an improper way. Not seeking reform, 22:54 but instead cursing and damning. Then 22:56 both sides are failing to carry out the 22:58 duty that Allah has mandated. But we 23:00 want the people to be united. Do not be 23:02 divided into party followers, school of 23:04 thought followers, and groups. But be 23:08 united in Islam. Reprimand those who 23:10 are wrong, and give support to those 23:12 who are right. Exactly like the words 23:14 of Abu Bakr Assiddiq radhiallahu anhu. 23:18 When appointed as caliph, he said, "I 23:22 have been chosen by you as a leader, 23:25 but I am not the best among you. If I 23:29 walk straight, support me. If I deviate 23:33 , straighten me." Likewise, Sayyidina 23:36 Umar when he ascended, "Who will 23:38 straighten me when I deviate?" Abu 23:39 Dharr drew his sword. "I will, O 23:41 Commander of the Faithful." This is an 23:43 intelligent citizenry. Meaning Abu 23:46 Dharr was not afraid to correct what 23:48 was wrong, despite what? 23:51 His life being at stake. In Indonesia, 23:54 it is different. Leaders are appointed 23:57 to be infallible gods. Leaders are 24:00 appointed to be masters. While those 24:03 who appoint them turn into slaves who 24:05 have no right to speak. If they speak, 24:07 they are considered to be breaking 24:08 regulations and the law. Even though 24:11 laws and regulations are made by whom? 24:13 Humans. But what is astonishing is when 24:16 they reject laws from Allah, they want 24:20 the people to obey them while they 24:21 themselves defy Allah Subhanahu wa 24:23 taala. I am not speaking to point at 24:26 anyone. Whoever the future leader may 24:31 be, if the people elect them. If the 24:34 people sit idly by and do not exercise 24:36 control, then someone who was initially 24:38 just can turn into a dictator. But if 24:43 the people control them well, then 24:45 dictators will have no place in their 24:47 seats to commit crimes. So, in reality, 24:52 the damage occurring to our nation, the 24:54 seizure of our country's natural wealth 24:56 , is due to what else? Collaboration 25:00 between our own people and outsiders, 25:03 how else could the country be pawned 25:05 and lose its sovereignty and 25:08 independence, if not through 25:10 collaboration between some of our own 25:13 people and foreign interests? To the 25:17 point that we can only shake our heads 25:19 in disbelief when we witness officials 25:22 who are supposed to protect the people 25:24 collaborating with oligarchs and 25:26 foreign interests to impoverish their 25:28 own nation. Then the question is, do 25:31 you not fear Allah? How long will you 25:34 live in this world? On average, the 25:37 followers of our Prophet only live 60 25:39 to 70 years. They say some reach 80 or 25:42 90 years. If you reach that age, your 25:46 life is actually suffering. 25:50 Labored breathing, diseases beginning 25:53 to gnaw at us, and the zest for life 25:55 truly beginning to fade. 25:58 Is this living? A beautiful life is one 26:01 lived with Allah, walking on the path 26:03 of steadfastness in accordance with 26:05 one's conscience, without feeling 26:07 guilty for committing injustices. 26:10 Because if we commit crimes, our hearts 26:11 will suffer. Perhaps you say this is 26:15 not appropriate. Try asking yourself 26:17 when you are alone. When witnessing 26:21 people who are suffering and miserable, 26:24 when witnessing the victims of a 26:26 leader's policies that cause the state 26:29 and the nation to fall into truly 26:32 pathetic conditions. Are you not afraid 26:36 of the hereafter? At the time Allah 26:39 Subhanahu wa ta'ala calls upon you, 26:42 where power, status, wealth, children, 26:44 and family will be unable to save us. 26:48 In fact, we don't need to look far; 26:50 once we pass away, our wealth no longer 26:52 has any value. In this world, with 26:56 money, we can control others, but once 26:58 we enter the grave, our only loyal 27:00 companions will be the deeds we have 27:02 performed. So, let us return, brothers 27:05 and sisters who are blessed by Allah. I 27:07 do not side with anyone at all. I do 27:11 not blindly support the people in every 27:14 action they take. Nor do I support 27:19 those in power in the injustices they 27:21 commit. But let us, the leaders and the 27:25 people, as well as the scholars, the 27:27 military, and the police, let us be 27:29 aware, let us build our nation together 27:31 . Let us uphold enjoining the good and 27:34 forbidding the evil. Let us prepare our 27:37 provisions to face the afterlife. I 27:40 feel that when we were under forty, we 27:43 would wake up in the morning and have 27:45 all sorts of plans. Even at night, for 27:48 things we hadn't finished, we would 27:50 start thinking about what we would do 27:52 the next day. But now, when we sleep at 27:56 night, we wonder if we will be awakened 27:59 tomorrow. Will we be taken directly 28:02 before Allah? The journey is so long, 28:06 our good deeds are so few, our sins are 28:09 so many, so we only hope for the mercy 28:11 and generosity of Allah. Whereas if 28:14 Allah were to treat us with His justice 28:16 , we would surely perish. Therefore, 28:20 let us, brothers and sisters who are 28:22 blessed by Allah, rise together, move 28:24 forward together, not just for 28:26 ourselves, but together with the people 28:28 and the leaders, with the community and 28:30 their scholars, along with the military 28:33 and police, let us protect our nation 28:35 and our country together. Hopefully, in 28:39 the next election, Allah will choose 28:42 someone who is truly fearful of Allah, 28:45 loves their people, carries out 28:47 improvements, and that the people are 28:50 also aware enough to control their 28:53 leaders. Whoever among their leaders 28:56 acts wrongly, the people must truly 28:59 demand that justice be upheld 29:01 impartially; hopefully, Allah will 29:03 bestow His mercy and blessings upon us 29:05 all. Forgive our sins. Make our coming 29:10 days better than our previous ones. 29:14 Make us people who are always aware, 29:17 love virtue, perform righteous deeds, 29:20 and enjoin the good and forbid the evil 29:23 . And all of that in the hope of the 29:25 pleasure of Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. 29:27 Glory be to You, O Allah, and with Your 29:28 praise, I bear witness that there is no 29:30 god but Allah, He has no partner, and I 29:32 bear witness that Muhammad is His 29:34 servant and His messenger, and I ask 29:35 Your forgiveness and repent to You. And 29:38 I apologize to you, peace be upon you, 29:39 and the mercy and blessings of Allah. 29:42 Alright, that is all, brothers and 29:43 sisters who are blessed by Allah. 29:44 Reflections under the shade of the 29:47 Quran with Ustadz Husein on this 29:49 occasion took the theme: the good that 29:52 you receive is entirely from Allah, 29:54 while the evil that befalls you is from 29:57 yourself. Hopefully, brothers and 29:59 sisters, the study delivered by Ustadz 30:01 Husein on this occasion provides 30:03 benefits, wisdom, and lessons for us 30:04 all. We conclude, and I, Rizal Hak, 30:08 along with the team on duty, Bang Ondi 30:10 and Bang Anis, as well as Ustaz Alfan 30:13 and Ustaz Abul Hasan Asadili in the 30:15 studio, bid you farewell. 30:17 Wasalamualaikum warahmatullahi 30:19 wabarakatuh. Waalaikumsalam 30:21 warahmatullah.
