May 2:50 Allah bless them, of course. Amen. 2:53 Alright, brothers and sisters. On this 2:54 afternoon's occasion, God willing, our 2:57 thematic tafsir study will discuss the 2:59 theme of people who are blind of heart. 3:02 This relates to Quran Surah Al-Isra, 3:05 verse 72. Yes. 3:06 Yes. 3:07 Alright, brothers and sisters. Perhaps 3:09 those who are still with their Al-Quran 3:11 this afternoon or can open their 3:13 Al-Quran application on Android, 3:15 brothers and sisters can open Quran 3:17 Surah Al-Isra, verse 72. About people 3:20 who are blind of heart. Without further 3:22 ado, let us listen to the study 3:24 together. Please. 3:25 In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious 3:26 , the Most Merciful. Peace be upon you, 3:28 and Allah's mercy and blessings. Indeed 3:32 , all praise is due to Allah; we praise 3:34 Him, seek His help, and ask for His 3:36 forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah 3:39 from the evils of our souls and the 3:41 badness of our deeds. Whoever Allah 3:44 guides, none can misguide, and whoever 3:47 He leaves astray, none can guide. I 3:50 bear witness that there is no god but 3:53 Allah alone, with no partner, and I 3:55 bear witness that Muhammad is His 3:58 servant and His messenger. What Allah 4:02 wills happens, and what He does not 4:04 will does not happen. There is no power 4:06 and no strength except with Allah, the 4:09 Most High, the Almighty. Furthermore, 4:12 brothers and sisters who are very much 4:15 loved by Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. 4:18 Praise be to Allah, this afternoon we 4:22 can reconnect through our thematic 4:26 tafsir study, where this afternoon we 4:29 will try to understand the word of 4:33 Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala contained in 4:37 Surah Al-Isra, the 17th surah, verse 72 4:41 . which reads—I seek refuge in Allah 4:46 from the accursed Satan—this verse is 4:49 quite short. Man kana fi hadzihi a’ma 4:55 fahuwa fil akhirati a’ma wa adholu 4:59 sabila. Which means, whoever is blind 5:05 in their heart in this world, then in 5:09 the hereafter they will be blind and 5:14 lost from the right path. Brothers and 5:20 sisters who are deeply loved by Allah 5:21 subhanahu wa ta'ala. What is meant by 5:26 blind here, according to Al-Asfihani in 5:30 his very famous book Al-Mufradat fi 5:33 Gharibil Quran, is the loss of vision 5:45 and basirah, the ability to perceive 5:53 through the heart. Therefore, what is 5:59 meant by blind here is not physical 6:04 blindness. Fafiqadul ain lam yu’ad fi 6:12 hadzal a’ma liannal maksud huna 6:17 a’mal bashori wal basirah. Physical 6:24 blindness is not included in this verse 6:27 . Because what is intended in this 6:33 verse is the blindness of sight and the 6:36 sharpness of the heart. I interpret 6:41 basirah as the sharpness of the heart. 6:47 Indeed, some scholars state that humans 6:51 have four eyes. Two eyes are on their 6:58 head, with which they see their worldly 7:03 affairs, and two eyes that are in their 7:11 heart, with which they will see their 7:17 affairs of the hereafter. So once again 7:24 , what is meant by a'ma here is someone 7:28 who is blind in their heart, not blind 7:31 in their eyes. Basirah, the ability of 7:38 their heart to grasp something good, 7:42 has been lost. Their vision, although 7:49 their eyes still function, is lost so 7:54 that what they see has no impact on 7:58 their heart. Ibn Abbas, Mujahid, 8:06 Qatadah, and Ibn Zaid, when explaining 8:10 "waman kana fi hadzihi a’ma," said: " 8:14 fi hayatid dunya waman kana fi hadzihi. 8:18 " And whoever is in this, meaning in 8:26 hayatid dunya, in the life of the world 8:31 . A’ma, they are blind to hujajillahi 8:38 , to the proofs of Allah's existence wa 8:46 ayatihi, and of Allah's signs. Wabayan, 8:52 and His explanations, then they will be 8:57 the same in the hereafter. A kadzalika 9:02 yakun, they will be blind. So when they 9:09 are in the world and their eyes cannot 9:14 see the truths conveyed by Allah 9:18 Subhanahu wa ta'ala, then in the 9:24 hereafter, they will be blind. Even if 9:30 it seems that in this world their eyes 9:34 can see, when their sight does not 9:37 penetrate into their heart, they are 9:40 considered blind. Later in the 9:45 hereafter, they will be blind. Even 9:50 more lost than they were before in the 9:56 world. When explaining this verse, Imam 10:03 Al-Maraghi wrote at some length. He 10:10 stated, "A waman fiid dunya qolbi la 10:15 yubsiru subular, wala yataammalu 10:22 hujajallahi, wa ayatihi allati wada'a 10:28 fi afaqil kaun wa amara bit-taammuli 10:33 fiha fahuwa fil akhirati la yaro, adhal 10:43 ." Which means: "Whoever in this world 10:49 is blind in their heart, cannot see the 10:53 path of guidance, and they cannot 11:00 reflect upon the proofs of Allah 11:04 Subhanahu wa ta'ala's truth and the 11:09 explanations that Allah has placed in 11:13 this universe, and Allah ordered to 11:18 contemplate what is within it, yet they 11:23 do not do so, then they will be blind 11:28 in the hereafter." Besides being blind 11:35 in the hereafter, in worldly affairs, 11:38 in the affairs of the hereafter, they 11:42 will be blind. Ah, this is very 11:46 dangerous. When it comes to worldly 11:50 matters, he can see, but for the 11:52 matters of the afterlife, he is blind. 11:56 When invited to deal with worldly 11:59 affairs, he immediately understands and 12:03 then promptly acts upon them. But when 12:08 invited to matters of the afterlife, he 12:11 cannot understand, let alone carry them 12:14 out. Invited to pray, he doesn't 12:18 understand, let alone actually perform 12:23 it. Invited to give zakat, he doesn't 12:27 understand, let alone carry it out. 12:33 Invited to perform various kinds of 12:35 good deeds, he cannot understand, let 12:40 alone carry them out. Invited to be 12:43 devoted to his parents. He cannot 12:47 understand, let alone carry it out. 12:50 Invited to be united together. in 12:56 religious matters, he cannot understand 13:01 , let alone carry it out. Invited to be 13:05 brothers in Islamic brotherhood, he 13:08 cannot understand, let alone carry it 13:11 out. Ah, these are the people who are 13:14 blind. However, when it comes to 13:21 worldly matters, he can see. Meaning, 13:27 when invited to perform bad deeds, he 13:31 understands easily and even reacts 13:34 spontaneously. Invited to commit sins, 13:39 he catches on immediately and does it. 13:43 Invited to commit adultery, he does it 13:46 immediately; invited to gamble, he does 13:50 it immediately; invited to be hostile 13:53 toward fellow humans, he does it 13:55 immediately. Now, these are the people 14:00 whose hearts are blind. He cannot see 14:05 the matters of the afterlife. Such 14:11 people will be blind and astray in the 14:16 afterlife, unable to reach what is 14:21 pleasing to Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. 14:30 Why do such people develop behavior 14:36 like that? Furthermore, the late 14:42 scholar said, "Liannar-ruh al-baqi 14:45 ba'dal maut, huar-ruhulladzi kana fi 14:48 hadzil hayatid-dunya." Because the soul 14:54 that remains after death is the soul 14:57 that was present while they were in 15:01 this world. So, the soul has left the 15:07 body. "Waqod khoroja minal jismi wa 15:12 kaannahu bulhu kama talidal mar'atu 15:16 asob""yirun.""Wal asjar alfawakih." The 15:27 soul has exited the body. Like a woman 15:33 giving birth to her baby, also like a 15:39 tree, a date palm producing its fruit, 15:46 and other trees producing fruit. And if 15:53 that tree has no fruit, then it has no 15:58 meaning at all. What does that mean? 16:02 When the body lacks a soul, then that 16:08 body has no meaning. Now, this is what 16:13 happens when a person's heart is 16:15 already blind. When a tree has no fruit 16:20 , the tree has no more meaning. Well, a 16:25 person whose heart is blind is like 16:28 that. So perhaps their body is still 16:34 that of a human, but in reality, they 16:38 are no longer a human. Why? Because 16:44 their soul is gone. Why is their soul 16:47 gone? Because their heart is already 16:51 dead. Then, when explaining this verse, 16:58 Imam Al-Qurtubi stated, "Ikhtalafa 17:02 ahlut-takwil fil maknazi usiro ilaihi 17:06 biqui hadhi faq ba'uhum usiro bidalika" 17:13 "allatihahuikruhu""biqui wqna banium"" 17:32 Qila." What is meant by "hadhi"(this) 17:43 here are the blessings of Allah 17:46 Subhanahu wa ta'ala that have been 17:49 mentioned by Allah. In the 70th verse 17:54 of Surah Al-Isra, which is: "Walaqad 17:58 karomna bani adama wa hamalnahum fil 18:01 barri wal bahri warozaqnahum 18:04 minat-toyyibati wa fadhdhalnahum 'ala 18:07 kathirim mimman khalaqna tafdila." And 18:12 indeed, We have honored the children of 18:17 Adam and carried them on the land and 18:22 on the sea. And We have provided for 18:27 them from the good things and preferred 18:30 them, we have exalted them over other 18:33 creatures with a great distinction. The 18:38 meaning of blindness here is being 18:41 blind to the blessings of Allah 18:44 Subhanahu wa taala. What are those 18:47 blessings of Allah? They are mentioned 18:50 in Surah Al-Isra, verse 70. The first 18:55 blessing is that he has been honored by 18:58 Allah Subhanahu wa taala. So among 19:02 humans, among all of Allah's creatures, 19:05 the most noble is the human being. Yet, 19:10 he cannot comprehend that he has been 19:12 honored by Allah Subhanahu wa taala. 19:16 Just imagine if he were not created as 19:19 a human, what would he be like? So, a 19:24 person who does not realize that he has 19:28 been honored by Allah by being made 19:31 human is a blind person. Then he is 19:37 placed by Allah in both, on the land 19:41 and in the sea. This is also a blessing 19:45 from Allah Subhanahu wa taala. Humans 19:49 can live on land and can also live at 19:52 sea with various kinds of technological 19:55 advancements today. On land he can live 20:00 , and in the sea he can also live. This 20:05 is also part of the blessings of Allah 20:07 Subhanahu wa taala. When he does not 20:10 understand this, he considers it as 20:12 something ordinary. Just imagine, my 20:16 brothers. Rare are the creatures of 20:19 Allah that can live in two places. 20:23 Humans can live on land, and they can 20:25 also live at sea with the technology 20:28 they possess. Yet, he forgets such a 20:33 great blessing. Fish, they can only 20:37 live in 20:39 the water. They cannot live on land. 20:42 Then, a goat can only live on land. It 20:46 cannot live in the sea. But humans, 20:50 masyaallah, can live on land, and in 20:52 the sea they can 20:54 also. This is a blessing from Allah 20:57 Subhanahu wa taala. People who cannot 21:00 understand this are blind people. 21:05 Waruzqnahum minat thyibat. And We have 21:08 provided sustenance to humans in the 21:11 form of good things. Reflect, O human 21:15 beings. That everything given by Allah 21:21 to us is good things. We are unable to 21:27 accept things that are not good. We 21:31 cannot eat rotten fruit, but rotten 21:35 fruit is eaten by animals. We cannot 21:41 consume stale rice. Well, stale rice, I 21:48 mean, we cannot eat stale rice, but it 21:54 is eaten by animals. So, everything 21:59 given by Allah to us is good; what is 22:02 not good is for other than humans. This 22:07 was regarding food earlier. Likewise, 22:10 Allah Subhanahu grants us life in good 22:14 weather; we cannot survive in extreme 22:17 weather. So, these are the good 22:22 provisions given by Allah. Therefore, 22:26 if we look at the four types of food 22:29 that Allah Subhanahu wa taala has 22:31 forbidden, they are clearly not good. 22:35 Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala has forbidden 22:39 blood. Clearly, blood is not good. 22:43 Allah has forbidden swine. Clearly, 22:47 swine is not good. Allah has forbidden 22:51 animals that are not slaughtered for 22:53 the sake of Allah. Clearly, that is not 22:56 good. Allah has forbidden carrion for 23:00 us. Clearly, it is not good. For whom 23:03 is carrion? For animals, not for humans 23:07 . These are the blessings given by 23:11 Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. Allah 23:15 forbids us intoxicating drinks because 23:18 they are clearly not good. Allah 23:22 Subhanahu provides us with good things. 23:27 Fresh water, water, milk, coffee, tea, 23:32 and other good things. When a person 23:37 cannot understand this, they prefer 23:40 liquor over plain water. Then that 23:45 person's heart is blind. They choose 23:50 forbidden food over lawful food. Then 23:55 clearly, their heart is blind. They 23:59 choose an act that is bad over an act 24:04 that is good. For example, they prefer 24:08 corruption over working diligently. 24:12 Then such a person's heart is blind. A 24:17 person who chooses prostitution over 24:21 legal marriage, clearly this person's 24:24 heart is blind. Let us brothers reflect 24:29 on this. A person who chooses not to 24:33 pray over praying, then that person's 24:35 heart is blind. A person who chooses to 24:41 expose their aura over covering it, 24:43 then that person is blind. A person who 24:49 chooses to defy their parents rather 24:52 than obey them, clearly their heart is 24:57 blind. A person who prefers war over 25:02 peace. Clearly, that person is blind. 25:09 Now, further in Tafsir Al-Qurtubi, it 25:11 is mentioned from Muhammad bin Abi Musa 25:14 who said he was asked about this verse, 25:16 "Waman kana fi hadzihi a'ma fahuwa fil 25:19 akhirati a'ma wa adallu sabila.""And 25:23 whoever is blind in this [life] will be 25:24 blind in the Hereafter and [more] 25:24 astray in way." The aforementioned 25:27 verse is in Surah Al-Isra' verse 70, 25:30 where it is stated in this world. 25:42 Muhammad bin Abu Musa was asked about 25:45 this verse, the verse we are currently 25:48 interpreting, which is: "Waman kana fi 25:51 hadzihi a'ma fahuwa fil akhirati a'ma 25:54 wa adallu sabila." Then he recited the 25:59 verse mentioned earlier, the one in 26:01 verse 70, which is: "Walaqad karramna 26:04 bani Adam", that is what he recited. 26:20 Then he stated, "Whoever is blind to 26:27 being grateful for Allah's blessings, 26:31 these blessings mean whoever is not 26:34 grateful for the blessings of Allah 26:38 mentioned in Surah Al-Isra 'verse 70. 26:44 Those blessings include: first, he was 26:47 made as a descendant of Adam, a noble 26:50 human being." Second, he is placed, 26:54 transported by Allah both on land and 26:57 at sea. Third, he is given provision by 27:02 Allah from good things. Fourth, he is 27:06 favored over other creatures. He is 27:10 unable to be grateful for all of that. 27:14 Then in the hereafter, he will be blind 27:19 and will lose his way. Furthermore, Ibn 27:26 Zaid was also asked about this. He was 27:30 asked about the Almighty's statement " 27:32 wa man kana fi hadzihi a'ma""fahuwa fil 27:36 akhirati a'ma" so he said. Then he 27:57 recited from Surah al-Isra, starting 28:00 from verse 20 to 26. faqahu mutiuna 28:08 adam qan ayati allati yuaha minna 28:16 wasadu alaiha wahuaana fahua akirati 28:24 allati lam yaroha wau sabila Which 28:32 means, when Zaid ibn Zaid was asked 28:35 about the verse "waman fi hadihil fahua 28:39 fil akhirati amah." He first read the 28:44 word of Allah found in Surah 28:46 Al-Jathiyah. Surah Al-Jathiyah is the 28:51 45th surah, verse 30. Inna fisamawati 28:55 wal ardhi laayati lil mukminin. Indeed, 29:02 what is in the heavens and on the earth 29:05 are signs for the believers. First, he 29:11 is blind to all the lessons that exist 29:15 in the heavens and the earth. Then he 29:20 read in Surah Adh-Dhariyat. wafi 29:22 anfusikum afala tubsiru. He cannot 29:26 understand what is within himself. Then 29:32 he also read the word of Allah found in 29:36 Surah Ar-Rum, starting from the 29:39 creation of humans from soil until they 29:43 are resurrected again. Now, everything 29:51 that is in the heavens, everything that 29:55 is on earth, submits to Allah Subhanahu 29:58 wa ta'ala. Let us look, brothers, the 30:04 wind that is so powerful submits to 30:07 Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. When He 30:11 commands it to stop blowing, it will 30:15 stop. Likewise, the sun, which is so 30:20 large and so powerful. When Allah 30:24 commands it to appear, it appears. When 30:29 Allah commands it to set, it sets. Then 30:33 also water, which is so powerful. When 30:36 Allah commands it to be calm, it is 30:38 calm. But when Allah commands it to 30:41 surge, it surges. Fire that should burn 30:47 . But when Allah commanded it, when it 30:52 was to burn Prophet Ibrahim, "O fire, 30:56 be coolness and safety upon Ibrahim," 30:59 it then became cool and saved Prophet 31:05 Ibrahim. Now, all of that submits to 31:09 Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. Those who 31:13 cannot understand that everything on 31:17 this earth submits to Allah Subhanahu 31:21 wa ta'ala are the blind ones. 31:26 Everything that exists, even what is 31:28 inside our bodies, submits to Allah 31:30 Subhanahu wa ta'ala. We cannot direct 31:34 it. When it is time to be sleepy, it 31:37 gets sleepy. When it is time to blink, 31:40 it blinks. When it is time to breathe, 31:43 it breathes; everything submits to 31:46 Allah. Only humans do not submit. Now, 31:50 if we cannot understand that all of 31:54 that is proof of the greatness of Allah 31:59 Subhanahu wa ta'ala, then we are among 32:03 the blind. And in the hereafter, he 32:08 will not be able to see at all. We can 32:13 imagine, brothers, how the condition of 32:17 the Day of Judgment is so terrifying, 32:21 as described in several surahs and 32:24 verses, when the sky splits. As-sama'u 32:32 infatarat wa idal kawakibu intatharat. 32:35 When the stars fall, when the sun is 32:40 brought as close as possible to humans, 32:45 when the oceans surge and even water 32:50 becomes fire. In such a condition, we 32:55 are blind. Just imagine, in such a 32:59 condition, even if we were looking, if 33:02 our eyes could see, it would be 33:04 difficult. Especially in such a 33:09 condition, our eyes are blind. Can you 33:13 imagine that? So, for those who in this 33:16 world could not understand the signs of 33:19 the greatness of Allah Subhanahu wa 33:22 ta'ala, later in the hereafter when the 33:27 Day of Judgment occurs. This is just 33:29 the beginning of the afterlife. Because 33:32 the afterlife indeed happens in stages. 33:35 There are at least four stages. First, 33:39 in the grave, he is already blind. Then 33:44 , in the barzakh realm, he awaits the 33:47 decree of Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. He 33:53 is blind. Then after that, the third 33:57 one is when the Day of Judgment occurs. 34:01 The fourth is post-Judgment Day. When 34:04 is that? When humans have been judged. 34:09 The good enter Paradise, the wicked 34:13 enter Hell. These are the four stages 34:16 of the afterlife. Starting from the 34:20 grave, then the barzakh, then the Day 34:23 of Judgment, and then the actual 34:25 hereafter where people are judged by 34:29 Allah; in these four conditions, he 34:31 will be blind and lose his way. 34:36 Therefore, let us use the eyes of our 34:40 hearts, our inner sight, to understand 34:44 the verses of Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala 34:48 so that we do not become blind people. 34:55 Then, when asked about a person 35:02 regarding this matter, it is mentioned 35:06 in a narration, "Waruiya ananas sa'alu 35:10 al Imam Ahmad bin Hambal rahimahullahu 35:14 taala kam adadul musallinah," this is 35:18 an interesting question for all 35:21 brothers. Imam Ahmad was asked about 35:28 the number of people who pray. " 35:33 Faajabahum wahidun faqat.""The person 35:39 who prays is only one." So, the answer 35:44 is very profound. When he was asked, " 35:48 How many people are praying?" He 35:51 answered, "The person who prays is only 35:54 one." So the others, the thousands and 35:58 millions, are considered as not praying 36:00 . "Qolu." Then the person who asked 36:05 inquired, "Hal anta a'ma?""Are you 36:11 blind, Sheikh?""Do you not see the many 36:16 people who are praying?""Faajabahum." 36:20 So he answered with a very beautiful 36:24 response. "Al-a'ma man yagmidu ainahu 36:29 an armalatin,""an armalatin auja'uha 36:37 hamlun thaqilun.""The blind person is 36:46 the one who closes their eyes to widows 36:51 in need of help." It is depicted here 36:56 that she carries a heavy burden. This 37:01 is one. So, are we blind or not? This 37:07 is the measure according to Imam Ahmad. 37:10 Even if we have eyes, if we do not want 37:14 to help those in need, especially here 37:18 mentioned are hungry widows who carry 37:22 such heavy burdens that we do not pay 37:25 attention to. Then according to Imam 37:30 Ahmad bin Hambal, we are among the 37:33 blind. Then furthermore he stated, " 37:38 Al-a'ma man tawajjaha lil-qiblati,""wa 37:44 adara dhahrahu lil-aytam wal-fuqara."" 37:51 The blind person is the one who faces 37:55 the Qibla during prayer, but turns 37:59 their back on orphans and the poor." 38:04 That is a blind person. Once again, if 38:09 we pray but we do not pay attention to 38:12 orphans and the poor, then that is who 38:15 the blind person is. Next, he says, "Al 38:21 a'ma man sajada lillah watakabbaro ala 38:25 ibadihi." A blind person is one who 38:31 prostrates to Allah. But he is arrogant 38:39 towards His creatures or His servants. 38:43 He prays, he prostrates to Allah, he 38:47 places his forehead down, he bows his 38:51 head during prayer. But he is arrogant 38:57 toward people, so that is a blind 39:01 person. And he further states, al'ma 39:07 manana fiil musallin alawal walakinnahu 39:12 g sufufil ji waqulil haqqi. A blind 39:19 person is one who stands in the first 39:24 row during prayer, but is absent from 39:30 the ranks of those who care for the 39:35 hungry and refuses to speak the truth. 39:42 That is a blind person. So this person 39:46 is always in the first row during 39:50 prayer, but when there are needs 39:53 requiring his help, like the many 39:56 hungry people mentioned, he does not 39:59 care. He also refuses to speak words of 40:06 truth. So even though he is in the 40:13 first row when he prays, he is absent 40:17 and nowhere to be found when needed to 40:21 help others, so he is a blind person. 40:28 Next, he states, "Al a'ma man tasdaqo 40:33 yauman wahua qodirun ayatasuddaqo 40:37 dauman." A blind person is one who 40:43 gives charity only for one day, even 40:47 though he is capable of giving charity 40:51 every day. He is able to give charity 40:56 daily, but he only gives for one day. 41:03 Next, he states al'ma manit thami walam 41:09 yasum anil haromi. A blind person is 41:16 one who fasts from food but does not 41:20 fast from forbidden things. He is 41:25 indeed fasting by not eating food. But 41:29 when he breaks his fast or consumes 41:33 forbidden things, he is a blind person. 41:42 Next, al'ma man thfal baital haram 41:46 wasya ayyatufa haula fuqra yamutuna 41:53 kulla yaumin min siddatil azi. A blind 41:58 person is one who performs tawaf at the 42:03 Sacred House but is blind to performing 42:07 tawaf around the poor. Who die every 42:13 day due to hunger. This is a blind 42:18 person. So once again, a blind person 42:23 according to Imam Ahmad is someone who 42:27 circles the Kaaba during Hajj or Umrah. 42:32 But he is unwilling to surround and 42:35 care for the poor. Even though they are 42:40 dying every day from extreme hunger. 42:47 Next, al a'ma man rofa'al adan walam 42:51 yarfa abawihi. A blind person is one 42:56 who raises his voice in the adhan. 43:02 Meaning he performs the adhan, but he 43:04 does not elevate his parents. Meaning 43:08 he does not respect his parents. Next, 43:15 he states again, al a'ma man shomma 43:21 tumma gosya fi baiihi waoihi. A blind 43:29 person is one who prays and fasts, but 43:33 commits corruption. He cheats in his 43:39 buying and selling. Well, these are 43:42 some of the blind people, those who are 43:46 blind in their hearts. There are still 43:49 a few more points that we will, God 43:51 willing, continue after the following 43:53 break. Yes. Thank you, may Allah bless 43:58 you, for listening to the explanation 44:01 given by Imam Yaho Mansur. He was just 44:04 discussing Quran Surah Al-Isra verse 72 44:07 regarding those who are blind in heart. 44:10 We will be back after this, and after 44:13 he completes his study, we will open a 44:15 Q&A session as usual. And brothers and 44:18 sisters, we will be back after this. 48:48 Yeah. Rasil TV. For a united Islam. 51:19 Thank you, brothers and sisters, may 51:20 Allah bless you. Still listening to the 51:23 Rasil Radio broadcast and also Rasil 51:25 Visual via the Rasil YouTube channel, 51:27 Rasil TV. And we are still listening to 51:31 the thematic interpretation study this 51:33 afternoon. Earlier at the start, we 51:36 were listening to the study given by 51:38 Imam Yaho Mansur about people... 51:41 Yes. Who are those blind in heart? We 51:44 started earlier from Quran Surah 51:46 Al-Isra verse 72. Maybe about 5 or 7 51:50 more minutes to complete it. We invite 51:53 him. 51:54 Yes. Brothers and sisters who are loved 51:57 by Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. Next, 52:02 Imam Ahmad explains who that blind 52:06 person is. It was mentioned earlier 52:10 that a blind person is, among others, 52:12 someone who performs the call to prayer 52:15 . He performs the adhan but does not 52:19 respect his parents. But he does not 52:22 honor his parents. Whoever prays and 52:28 fasts but is not honest in their trade 52:32 or engages in corruption. Next, he says 52:38 : "A blind person is one who stands 52:43 before Allah, but his heart carries 52:47 hatred and malice towards his fellow 52:50 Muslims." A blind person is one who 52:56 stands before Allah, but his heart... 53:02 carries malice, hatred, and belittles 53:08 fellow Muslims. That is a blind person. 53:14 Once again, one who stands before Allah 53:20 but whose heart harbors malice, hatred, 53:25 and belittlement toward fellow Muslims. 53:32 Next, Imam Ahmad says, "A blind person 53:37 is one who prays, fasts, and supports 53:45 oppression." A blind person is someone 53:50 who...prays, prostrates, and fasts, but 53:58 helps in the oppression of fellow 54:03 humans. Next, he says, "A blind person 54:09 is one who prays and fasts, while his 54:15 two hands are stained with the blood of 54:20 Muslims." A blind person is someone who 54:25 prays and fasts, but both his hands... 54:32 are covered in the blood of Muslims. 54:39 Once again, a blind person is someone 54:42 who prays and fasts, but whose hands 54:45 are stained with the blood of the 54:48 Muslim community. Next, he says, "A 54:54 blind person is one who takes a part of 54:57 the religion and leaves another part." 55:05 A blind person is someone who takes 55:08 part of the religion and abandons the 55:12 other part. That is a blind person. 55:17 Then finally, a blind person is one who 55:21 prays but does not benefit from his 55:24 prayer. A blind person is someone who 55:29 prays but his prayer brings no benefit 55:32 to himself. The main benefit of prayer 55:36 is to prevent immorality and wrongdoing 55:39 . When he continues to commit indecent 55:44 and evil deeds, then even if he prays, 55:48 he is a blind person. Then Allah ta'ala 55:54 says, "Faman kana fi hadzihi a'ma 55:56 fahuwa fil akhirati a'ma wa adhallu 55:59 sabila.""Whoever is blind in this world 56:04 , then in the hereafter he will be 56:07 blind and further astray in way." When 56:11 this verse was revealed, it was 56:13 mentioned in the book Fathul Qadir, a 56:16 tafsir written by Ash-Shawkani. 56:19 Although he is said to be Shi'a, it is 56:21 Zaydi Shi'a, a rather moderate branch 56:23 of Shi'a. Yes, he stated this, 56:27 regardless of his background, but let 56:31 us understand from his book. Now, when 56:35 this verse was revealed, Qala Ibn Abbas 56:39 , wa qila lamma nazala waman ilal 56:46 akhiril ayah, Qala Ibn Ummi Maktum when 56:49 the verse we are contemplating and 56:51 discussing was revealed, "Waman kana fi 56:54 " Ibn Ummi Maktum, the blind companion, 57:01 said, "Ya Rasulullah, fa ana fid dunya 57:05 a'ma, a-akunu fil akhirati a'ma?""O 57:10 Messenger of Allah, I am already blind 57:11 in this world.""Will I also be blind in 57:16 the hereafter?""Fa haala abshar, wa 57:21 lakin ta'mal qulubu allati fish shudur. 57:24 " Then another verse was revealed 57:29 shortly after, which means, "Fa haala 57:33 abshar.""Indeed, it is not his eyes 57:36 that are blind.""Wa lakin ta'mal qulubu 57:39 allati fish shudur.""But blind are the 57:43 hearts that are within the chests." So, 57:49 this is it, my brothers all. Once again 57:55 , this verse explains to us that what 57:58 is meant here is a person who is blind 58:02 of heart with all their behaviors, not 58:05 a person who is blind of sight. "Islam 58:15 fahuwa akir fin-nari." Now, Imam 58:23 Qurtubi explains that such people are 58:26 those who are blind in their hearts 58:29 regarding Islam. Later in the hereafter 58:34 , he will enter into the Hellfire. So, 58:37 a person whose heart is blind to Islam, 58:41 he will later in the hereafter enter 58:44 the Hellfire. May we seek refuge in 58:47 Allah from that. We seek refuge in 58:49 Allah from that. Hopefully, we do not 58:51 become people who are blind of heart 58:55 in this world. So that in the hereafter 58:58 , we are saved by Allah from various 59:01 kinds of dangers. Especially, let us 59:04 not enter into the Hellfire. We seek 59:07 refuge in Allah from that. Thus, 59:08 hopefully, it is beneficial. Alright, 59:12 thank you Imam Yas Mansur for the study 59:14 , and let's immediately read some 59:16 questions that have come in via 59:18 WhatsApp. For other brothers and 59:22 sisters who might want to join in to 59:24 submit questions, responses, or 59:25 comments, as usual, to the number we 59:27 are still using. For short messages: 59:30 08111. 999720. There are three ones, 59:37 three nines, brothers and sisters, or 59:39 interact at 0218451512. The first one 59:44 was sent by whom is this? Abu Fahri. 59:47 Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi 59:48 wabarakatuh. 59:48 Waalaikumsalam. 59:50 How can we awaken someone whose heart 59:52 is blind? Because those who are blind 59:55 of heart are said to have a disposition 59:57 harder than those blind of sight. Thank 59:59 you. 1:00:00 Yeah. Yeah. More stubborn, perhaps. 1:00:02 Yes, more stubborn. 1:00:03 How? 1:00:04 Well, a person who is blind of heart is 1:00:07 similar to a person with a diseased 1:00:10 heart. 1:00:13 So, their heart is ill. For this one, 1:00:17 perhaps I will answer with a story that 1:00:20 happened to Abdullah bin Mas'ud. 1:00:24 Someone came to Abdullah bin Mas'ud. 1:00:28 Then he stated that he felt ill. 1:00:33 H. 1:00:35 So he couldn't sleep soundly, and he 1:00:39 couldn't rest either. He also felt as 1:00:45 if his whole body was in pain. Even 1:00:49 though, in reality, he was not sick; he 1:00:51 felt like he wasn't sick. But why 1:00:53 couldn't he sleep soundly, eat well, or 1:00:56 feel comfortable while resting? Ah, 1:01:01 then Abdullah bin Mas'ud stated, "Your 1:01:04 body is not actually sick. H. 1:01:08 What is sick is your heart." Now, 1:01:12 therefore, I advise you: after you go 1:01:16 home, perform wudu, recite the Quran, 1:01:20 and God willing, your illness, your 1:01:25 heart's illness, will disappear. If 1:01:31 that doesn't cure it yet, if when you 1:01:35 recite it yourself you still feel the 1:01:38 same way. Go to Quran study circles and 1:01:43 listen to explanations sourced from the 1:01:47 Quran. If that still doesn't cure it, 1:01:55 get up at night and perform the 1:01:58 Tahajjud prayer. Ask Allah to heal your 1:02:04 sick heart. If it still doesn't heal, 1:02:12 this is the fourth thing: do not ask to 1:02:14 be cured of the illness of your sick 1:02:17 heart. But just ask for a new heart. 1:02:23 Hm. 1:02:23 Because your heart can no longer be 1:02:25 healed; it is already too severe. Ask 1:02:28 Allah for a new heart. 1:02:30 What does that mean? Asking for a new 1:02:32 heart 1:02:32 well, it means 1:02:34 yeah 1:02:34 having all 1:02:37 its diseases removed, because this is 1:02:39 already very chronic. 1:02:41 Now, so we are not talking about the 1:02:43 physical heart here. It is like earlier 1:02:46 , when we spoke of eyes, we weren't 1:02:48 talking about physical eyes, but our 1:02:50 vision. Hence, the inner insight. Yeah. 1:02:54 So that is what asking for a new heart 1:02:56 means. It doesn't mean having surgery 1:03:00 like today, where it is transplanted 1:03:02 and so on with another organ. 1:03:05 Right, exactly. After he listened to 1:03:10 the advice from Abdullah bin Mas'ud, he 1:03:13 went home, performed wudu, and then he 1:03:16 recited the Quran. Indeed, the 1:03:20 influence of the Quran is very powerful 1:03:22 . Not long after, he felt joy in his 1:03:28 life, 1:03:31 joy in his body. Everything he felt 1:03:35 earlier disappeared just by reading the 1:03:38 Quran. Of course, when he read the 1:03:41 Quran in the best way possible. His 1:03:45 recitation was good, he understood what 1:03:48 was meant, and then he strove to 1:03:51 practice it. Now, so if asked how to 1:03:57 awaken 1:03:58 awaken someone who is 1:04:01 blind in the heart, 1:04:01 to someone with a blind heart, tell 1:04:04 them to read the Quran. If they can't 1:04:07 yet, learn the Quran. Because those 1:04:10 whose hearts are hard are those who do 1:04:13 not understand the Quran. People who 1:04:17 know the Quran and understand it will 1:04:18 surely have soft hearts. Because indeed 1:04:22 , this Quran is "wunazzilu minal qurani 1:04:25 ma hua syifaun warahmatun lil mukminin. 1:04:28 " It is a cure for what kind of disease 1:04:31 ? Most especially the diseases that are 1:04:34 in the heart. The Quran has mentioned 1:04:37 various kinds of heart diseases. Even 1:04:42 before we go any deeper into the Quran, 1:04:45 Allah has explained the two greatest 1:04:48 heart diseases. What are they? 1:04:52 Disbelief and hypocrisy. 1:04:53 H. 1:04:54 Now, that is how it is in Surah 1:04:56 Al-Baqarah. The word' kafir 'comes from 1:04:59 ' kafarah ', which means to cover, 1:05:01 similar to the word' cover '. So, in 1:05:04 English, 1:05:05 it refers to people whose hearts are 1:05:06 covered. Because their hearts are 1:05:08 covered, they become' kafir '( 1:05:09 disbelievers). Now, this is the first 1:05:12 disease of the heart. What's even worse 1:05:15 is being a hypocrite. Their hearts are 1:05:19 always, uh, doubting, 1:05:22 fickle, 1:05:23 fickle. Yeah. 1:05:25 It is even discussed by Allah with more 1:05:27 verses than the disbelievers. 1:05:29 Hypocrisy is more dangerous. 1:05:30 Hypocrisy is more dangerous. Even in 1:05:34 the hereafter, they are' adolla ', as 1:05:36 previously mentioned, more astray than 1:05:38 the disbelievers, in the hereafter they 1:05:41 are even further astray, 1:05:44 their punishment is even heavier. 1:05:47 Because why? The hypocrites are' 1:05:49 fidzarkil asfali minanar '. In the 1:05:52 lowest depth of hell. Why? At the very 1:05:54 bottom, at 1:05:55 the crust of it. Why? Because while 1:05:57 they were in the world, they were not 1:05:59 judged like disbelievers; one cannot 1:06:02 fight against hypocrites. 1:06:04 They remain safe. Even when there is a 1:06:07 distribution of zakat, for example, or 1:06:08 war spoils, they still receive some. 1:06:11 They cannot be disturbed. Even though 1:06:13 they always disturb the Muslim 1:06:15 community. So, that is why their 1:06:18 punishment is given in the hereafter. 1:06:22 So those are the severe heart diseases, 1:06:25 namely disbelief and hypocrisy. That is 1:06:28 from the time Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala 1:06:30 began His word, the Quran, and it was 1:06:32 mentioned. Now, the people with the 1:06:35 best hearts are the righteous ones. 1:06:38 That is mentioned by Allah as' hudan 1:06:39 lil muttaqin '(guidance for the 1:06:40 righteous). Then after that, two very 1:06:43 bad attitudes that both depend on the 1:06:46 heart, namely those who disbelieve and 1:06:50 those who are hypocrites. So, with the 1:06:55 Quran, God willing, our sick hearts 1:06:58 will be healed. Wallahu a'lam (Allah 1:07:01 knows best). Bismillah (In the name of 1:07:02 Allah). 1:07:02 Okay, let's continue. From whom is this 1:07:05 ? Mr. Johar in Kalideres. 1:07:06 Assalamu'alaikum warahmatullahi 1:07:07 wabarakatuh. May I have some 1:07:08 enlightenment. He says 1:07:09 what is the essence of a blind person, 1:07:12 as previously explained, are these 1:07:14 people also called those who deny the 1:07:16 religion? Thank you. 1:07:18 Yes. So, as I mentioned earlier, what 1:07:23 is meant by a blind person is' a'ma 1:07:27 qolbahu anil Islam '. Now, this is 1:07:32 clear: his heart is blind to the 1:07:34 religion of Islam. So when he does not 1:07:38 heed the teachings of Islam, that is 1:07:40 when he is blind. So it is not someone 1:07:45 who is physically blind; there are many 1:07:48 who are physically blind but have 1:07:50 memorized the Quran. And not just 1:07:54 memorized it, they practice what is in 1:07:57 the Quran. They are more aware of the 1:08:02 meaning of life 1:08:04 so that we and the congregation here... 1:08:07 Yes. Neighbor, 1:08:08 mashallah. Subhanallah. Now, that, 1:08:11 I used to be like that too when I was 1:08:13 little, being friends with a blind 1:08:16 person who was incredibly diligent in 1:08:18 prayer. 1:08:19 When going to the mosque, I usually 1:08:21 guided him like that. I also saw on the 1:08:23 internet earlier, on Twitter, 1:08:26 it showed an old blind man going to the 1:08:28 mosque every day using a rope. 1:08:30 Ah, 1:08:30 following the rope back and forth five 1:08:32 times a day. 1:08:32 Just imagine if we became lazy, 1:08:35 wouldn't we be like that? Now, that is 1:08:39 so when 1:08:41 Abdullah bin Maktum, who was mentioned 1:08:42 earlier, was very afraid of this verse. 1:08:45 "Could it be that I am included?" He 1:08:47 even asked the Messenger of Allah, 1:08:49 peace be upon him. "O Messenger of 1:08:51 Allah.""I am blind.""Am I allowed not 1:08:57 to pray in the mosque?""Because my 1:09:00 place is quite far from the mosque, and 1:09:03 the road I take is quite dangerous." 1:09:07 The Prophet gave a dispensation, "Yes, 1:09:09 go ahead." Because the road he took, it 1:09:13 was said, had many wild animals and so 1:09:16 on. But when the Messenger of Allah, 1:09:18 peace be upon him, asked, "Do you hear 1:09:19 the call to prayer?""Yes," then you 1:09:21 must pray at the mosque. "Yes." 1:09:23 And indeed, he prayed in the mosque 1:09:25 continuously. 1:09:26 MashaAllah. 1:09:26 Well, that is... 1:09:27 even when a battle occurred, 1:09:30 he asked to be placed at the front. 1:09:33 Why is that? "If I am at the front, I 1:09:36 won't see my enemy, so I cannot run." 1:09:38 H. 1:09:39 MashaAllah. Imagine being blind, 1:09:41 MashaAllah. MashaAllah. 1:09:42 He went off to fight. So it is true 1:09:47 that Allah later immortalized a part of 1:09:50 his life in Surah' Abasa, "He frowned 1:09:53 and turned away." So once again, 1:09:58 physical blindness is not as bad as a 1:10:02 blind heart. There are many people who 1:10:05 are blind in their eyes but their 1:10:07 hearts are actually wide awake. They 1:10:09 see much more than those who......whose 1:10:13 eyes can see. 1:10:14 Yes. Therefore, do not let our eyes go 1:10:20 blind. What makes our eyes—I mean our 1:10:26 inner hearts—blind, as explained in " 1:10:29 No, but what they have earned has 1:10:32 covered their hearts." Don't be like 1:10:36 that. Indeed, the deeds they committed 1:10:40 have covered their hearts. It is 1:10:45 illustrated there that when a person 1:10:47 sins, the heart is like this. Something 1:10:51 like that. Like a hand. 1:10:52 Like a hand. When a person sins once, 1:10:55 he closes 1:10:58 his little finger. 1:10:59 His little finger, meaning the function 1:11:01 of the little finger is lost. 1:11:03 When he repents, he opens it again. 1:11:06 H. Now, when he sins, he closes it 1:11:09 again. When he doesn't want to repent 1:11:13 and sins again, he closes another. 1:11:15 Closing his ring finger, yes. 1:11:16 Now, if he still doesn't repent, his 1:11:19 middle finger closes. 1:11:21 H. 1:11:21 Now, if it's already like this, this is 1:11:23 dangerous. He can only point at people, 1:11:26 never looking at himself. See, that's 1:11:29 it. Only two left now. Now, 1:11:32 when he doesn't repent, he closes 1:11:35 another. This is also dangerous. 1:11:37 Just the thumb left. 1:11:39 This thumb is dangerous. It only serves 1:11:40 to praise himself. 1:11:42 That is the illustration. What about 1:11:45 someone who prays? Now, 1:11:47 not praying. Now, only having this left 1:11:49 . Now, what about someone who fasts, 1:11:52 then stops fasting? 1:11:54 Now, this 1:11:55 means he just does whatever he wants, 1:11:56 right? 1:11:56 Just does whatever. Yes, if he doesn't 1:11:59 repent and the heart closes up like 1:12:02 this, 1:12:03 then all that remains is hurting other 1:12:06 people. 1:12:07 So, that is why we must not let our 1:12:09 hearts become blind. What blinds the 1:12:14 heart is the sin that we commit. Now, 1:12:18 if we can avoid that, our hearts will 1:12:21 become bright. We will easily accept 1:12:26 what comes from Allah, what comes from 1:12:28 the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon 1:12:30 him. So that we all will be able to 1:12:34 live in the world seeing clearly, and 1:12:36 in the hereafter, we will also be able 1:12:39 to see clearly. But if it is the 1:12:41 opposite, in the world we can see 1:12:44 clearly, when our hearts are blind, 1:12:48 then in the hereafter we will not be 1:12:51 able to see anything. Even, we will 1:12:54 stray from the path to paradise. We 1:12:57 will enter into hell. May Allah protect 1:13:00 us from that. That is how it is. 1:13:02 If so, maybe it can be concluded that 1:13:05 when there are many bad deeds and bad 1:13:07 words, that is the result of our sins, 1:13:09 right? 1:13:10 Yes. Yeah. Because indeed this is all 1:13:14 cause and effect. 1:13:16 Yeah. 1:13:18 Sin causes bad deeds, right? Yeah. 1:13:22 Bad deeds cause what? Sin. Why do 1:13:26 people do bad things? Because there are 1:13:28 many 1:13:29 sins. It is like that. Why do people 1:13:31 sin? Because they commit many bad deeds 1:13:35 . Therefore, the Prophet once explained 1:13:38 when asked by his companions, he did 1:13:42 not explain 'al-ithmu'[sin] fi shodrika 1:13:47 wa ayyita an yattali’a ‘alannas [ 1:13:48 what fluctuates in your chest and you 1:13:49 dislike for people to know about it]. 1:13:53 Previously he stated 'al-birru husnul 1:13:55 khuluq'[righteousness is good character 1:13:56 ]. Goodness is good character. So the 1:14:03 measure of a good person is their 1:14:05 character. If their character is good, 1:14:08 then they become a good person. 1:14:10 Behavior. So, as conveyed by Imam Ahmad 1:14:13 when asked how many people pray? Only 1:14:16 one. Well, even though they pray, if 1:14:19 their behavior is as described, they 1:14:21 are considered not praying. So, because 1:14:25 indeed people depend on their behavior. 1:14:27 Then, he stated the Prophet peace be 1:14:29 upon him: 'al-ithmu...'[sin]. What is 1:14:37 called sin is what makes your heart 1:14:39 uneasy. 'Ma haaka fi shodrika'[what 1:14:41 fluctuates in your chest]. It moves 1:14:43 constantly in the heart. 'Wa karihta an 1:14:48 yattali’a ‘alannas' and you do not 1:14:50 like it if others see what you are 1:14:52 doing. Well, deeds that make us unhappy 1:14:57 when others see are sins. That is what 1:15:02 will make the heart become blind. And 1:15:06 if that is what happens, in the 1:15:08 hereafter, one will become blind and 1:15:10 stray from the right path. God knows 1:15:12 best. May Allah protect us from that. 1:15:13 Alright, next from Mrs. Yati in Priuk. 1:15:15 Peace be upon you and the mercy of 1:15:16 Allah and His blessings. 1:15:17 And peace be upon you and the mercy of 1:15:18 Allah. 1:15:18 I once read a piece of writing, they 1:15:22 say by Ibn Abid Dunya. 1:15:25 Ibn Abid Dunya 1:15:27 Abid Dunya, who said as a wise person, 1:15:29 he said, "Liven up your heart with 1:15:31 various pieces of advice." 1:15:32 Yeah. "Illuminate it with contemplation 1:15:34 .""Kill it with detachment [zuhud]."" 1:15:37 Strengthen it with conviction," 1:15:39 and so on. 1:15:41 Please explain. And what is meant by " 1:15:45 kill it with detachment [zuhud]," what 1:15:47 is that? 1:15:48 Now, especially zuhud, right? So, this 1:15:53 zuhud is indeed a very good character. 1:15:59 So, zuhud is firstly, there are several 1:16:02 definitions, people who take the world 1:16:06 only as needed. 1:16:08 Hm. 1:16:08 That is what is called what? 1:16:10 Asceticism. 1:16:10 Asceticism. Now, the second point is, 1:16:14 one does not desire what others possess 1:16:19 . Usually, when we see others, 1:16:24 for instance, a friend buys a car, what 1:16:28 is in our hearts? 1:16:29 We want one too. 1:16:30 Well, if that happens, it means you are 1:16:33 not yet ascetic. So, I will share just 1:16:36 the minimum here. First, take from the 1:16:39 world only what is sufficient. 1:16:41 Yes. 1:16:42 If we truly only need three shirts, 1:16:44 then just three. 1:16:46 If we only need one car, then just one. 1:16:51 That is called asceticism. If you need 1:16:54 one house, then just one. Because no 1:16:56 matter how large the house we occupy, 1:16:59 we only use one room, sir. 1:17:01 So, it's relative. Some may need ten 1:17:03 cars. 1:17:04 Oh, that is allowed. Yes, that is 1:17:06 allowed as long as it meets our needs. 1:17:09 For example, if we have many employees 1:17:12 and we want to honor them. It is fine 1:17:15 to buy many cars for that purpose. So, 1:17:18 take from the world only as much as you 1:17:21 need. That is asceticism. By doing so, 1:17:24 you silence your heart. Meaning our 1:17:26 hearts will not be in constant turmoil. 1:17:31 Our hearts will become dead to improper 1:17:34 desires. That is through the 1:17:36 aforementioned asceticism. 1:17:37 We take only what is sufficient. 1:17:40 We want to eat this, eat that, but we 1:17:42 only consume one plateful. 1:17:44 Yes. 1:17:45 Sometimes, when you reach the age of 50 1:17:48 and above, 1:17:50 there are many restrictions, right? 1:17:51 Many restrictions indeed. So, taking 1:17:54 from the world only what is needed does 1:17:57 not mean we must avoid the world. No. 1:18:01 It doesn't. We should still work as 1:18:04 hard as possible, but take only what is 1:18:07 necessary. Do not be excessive. 1:18:10 Anything that is excessive will surely 1:18:13 have negative consequences. That is why 1:18:17 it is mentioned in the Quran, a single 1:18:20 verse that leads people to a healthy 1:18:22 life. This was once asked by a Jewish 1:18:25 man to Sayyidina Ali, may God be 1:18:27 pleased with him. "O Ali, they say your 1:18:31 Quran is complete, yet health issues 1:18:35 are not mentioned, medical matters are 1:18:38 not addressed in the 1:18:40 Quran." 1:18:41 The Quran. 1:18:42 Well, you might not know it, roughly 1:18:44 speaking. Health matters are addressed 1:18:48 by Allah in only half a verse. What is 1:18:52 it? Wa kulu washrabu wala tusrifu. Eat 1:18:57 and drink, but do not be excessive. 1:19:00 And it turns out that is true. 1:19:03 Only what is necessary. 1:19:04 Because of that necessity, many people 1:19:07 are 1:19:07 sick. 1:19:08 Yes. 1:19:09 Especially because of excessive eating. 1:19:12 Culinary tourism. 1:19:14 Going here and there, right? Back then, 1:19:17 people rarely got various illnesses 1:19:21 because they only ate what was 1:19:23 sufficient. 1:19:24 Yes. 1:19:25 The Prophet stated, although the hadith 1:19:28 is debated by scholars, just eat enough 1:19:30 . So, even stop before you are full, 1:19:35 right? So, the meaning of asceticism is 1:19:37 taking from the world only what is 1:19:39 necessary. Second, you do not need to 1:19:42 desire the worldly things that others 1:19:45 possess. 1:19:48 That is why the Prophet explained, " 1:19:50 Look at those who are below you, and do 1:19:52 not look at those who are above you, so 1:19:55 that you do not belittle the blessings 1:19:57 of God upon you." In matters of the 1:20:01 world, do not look at those who are 1:20:03 above you. 1:20:04 Yes. 1:20:06 But look at those who are below you, so 1:20:08 that you will be able to be more 1:20:10 grateful for the blessings that Allah 1:20:12 has given you. Now, with this*zuhud*— 1:20:17 which means taking only what is 1:20:20 necessary from this world and not 1:20:23 desiring what others possess—God 1:20:26 willing, our hearts will be dead to 1:20:29 negative things. Because, indeed, 1:20:34 negative things also arise from the 1:20:36 heart. A person stealing originates 1:20:41 from the heart. Corruption also 1:20:44 originates from the heart. A person 1:20:47 committing adultery originates from the 1:20:48 heart. 1:20:49 So, if you want to extinguish all those 1:20:54 desires, practice*zuhud*. So that they 1:21:00 do not engage in corruption, do not 1:21:04 commit adultery, and do not disturb 1:21:08 others. Because of what I mentioned 1:21:09 earlier? Take from this world only what 1:21:11 is necessary. And then, do not have a 1:21:14 desire for what others possess. Realize 1:21:18 that everything has been given and 1:21:21 distributed by Allah, and Allah's gift 1:21:25 is the best. 1:21:28 It is just that sometimes we cannot 1:21:30 truly appreciate things like that. We 1:21:34 see what we have as being insufficient. 1:21:38 Even though we already have everything, 1:21:41 we feel like we have nothing. 1:21:45 Yet Allah has given us everything, * 1:21:47 mashaAllah*. That is why I often joke 1:21:50 when we say, "I have nothing, I am a 1:21:53 poor person," and so on. I ask, "Excuse 1:21:56 me, how much is your ear worth?" 1:21:58 Well, 1:21:59 it is like that. 1:22:00 It is priceless. It is priceless, so 1:22:02 how much is your eye worth? 1:22:05 See? How much is your nose worth, how 1:22:08 much are your lips? We are actually 1:22:11 billionaires. 1:22:12 Are you healthy? 1:22:13 Healthy. And what is inside is even 1:22:16 more expensive. 1:22:17 Your internal organs. 1:22:18 Yes, those internal organs. But because 1:22:22 we are not practicing*zuhud*, we want 1:22:24 to take as much of the world as 1:22:26 possible. Even though we are very 1:22:29 limited. There is a story about 1:22:32 Alexander the Great; when he was dying 1:22:35 —perhaps there was no Sharia like 1:22:39 ours yet—he asked, "When I die, carry 1:22:42 me on a bier,""and let my hands hang 1:22:46 out." 1:22:48 Yes. 1:22:48 Oh, perhaps because there was no custom 1:22:51 of folding arms yet, 1:22:53 that was the reason. 1:22:54 What was the reason? So that people 1:22:57 would know, "Look, Alexander the Great, 1:23:00 ruler of the East and West, died taking 1:23:03 nothing with him." 1:23:05 Hmm. 1:23:06 Empty-handed. If people realize this, 1:23:10 they will be able to enjoy worldly life 1:23:13 in the best possible way. People want 1:23:17 this power, but when they die, they 1:23:19 leave everything behind. Alexander the 1:23:23 Great gave us that image by being 1:23:25 paraded around the city for everyone to 1:23:27 see. "Oh, it turns out Alexander the 1:23:30 Great brought nothing, even though he 1:23:32 was the ruler of the Eastern and 1:23:34 Western hemispheres." That is the 1:23:38 picture of a person who practices*zuhud 1:23:40 *, so even if they are in power, they 1:23:42 can still 1:23:44 control themselves. Even if they are 1:23:47 rich, they can still control themselves 1:23:49 , and so on and so forth. Yes. So, 1:23:51 let's not be excessive, including in 1:23:54 our eating, as it says "eat and drink, 1:23:58 but do not be excessive," so we stay 1:24:01 healthy and enjoy life. Life is indeed 1:24:05 a blessing from Allah, part of His 1:24:07 favors. Now, let us not fail to be 1:24:10 grateful for these blessings. Otherwise 1:24:12 , our hearts will become blind, and in 1:24:15 the hereafter, we will be among the 1:24:17 blind and even stray from the right 1:24:19 path. That is all. 1:24:21 Alright. 1:24:22 Actually, there are more questions, but 1:24:24 our time is limited. MasyaAllah. 1:24:26 Very well. To our brothers and sisters, 1:24:28 please forgive us as time is limited. 1:24:29 It is already 5:31 PM. We apologize 1:24:31 that we cannot read the others. However 1:24:34 , before we conclude, perhaps you could 1:24:35 provide a closing, a conclusion. 1:24:37 Yes. That a person whose heart is blind 1:24:42 will be in great danger in their life. 1:24:48 The heart becomes blind because one 1:24:52 turns away from religion. If we want 1:24:57 our hearts to be able to see, there is 1:25:01 no other way but to return to religion 1:25:05 and follow its guidance. God willing, 1:25:10 our hearts will have insight, a deep 1:25:13 vision, so we can distinguish what is 1:25:16 right and what is wrong, so we may be 1:25:18 safe in this world and the hereafter. 1:25:22 That is roughly it. 1:25:24 Alright, thank you, Jazakumullah Khair 1:25:26 to Imam Has Mansor for his presence and 1:25:28 the lesson this evening. Alright, 1:25:30 brothers and sisters. That concludes 1:25:32 this afternoon's session for today's 1:25:34 edition. May we all gain lessons and 1:25:37 wisdom from the study presented this 1:25:39 afternoon. Earlier, we referenced Quran 1:25:43 Surah Al-Isra, verse 72, regarding 1:25:45 those whose hearts are blind. And to 1:25:49 our brothers and sisters, thank you for 1:25:51 being with us, especially those who 1:25:52 participated in the Al-Barqi Quran 1:25:54 reading training earlier. MasyaAllah, 1:25:58 there was quite a lot of enthusiasm, 1:26:00 and for those still on the road, may 1:26:02 your journey be smooth, as well as for 1:26:04 all the other brothers and sisters, and 1:26:07 God willing, Al-Barqi was once used by 1:26:09 my friend when we were together 1:26:12 popularizing the Quran 1:26:15 in Kalimantan, from the author, may God 1:26:17 have mercy on the late Mr. Majir Sultan 1:26:20 . 1:26:21 Did you know him well? 1:26:21 Yes, God willing, I knew him well. 1:26:24 Indeed, Al-Barqi means lightning, 1:26:26 lightning. 1:26:27 So, it is a method for reading the 1:26:29 Quran quickly. 1:26:30 Buraq is 1:26:31 a fast vehicle, right. Something like 1:26:33 the term Buraq. 1:26:34 Right. God willing, brothers and 1:26:36 sisters, there are so many who want to 1:26:38 join, but the quota is limited. Later, 1:26:40 God willing, we will hold it again on 1:26:43 another occasion next month, God 1:26:45 willing, in February, around the 6th or 1:26:47 7th, because many have been asking 1:26:49 about it. Even those who participated 1:26:50 earlier asked, "When is the 1:26:51 continuation of Al-Barqi?" God willing. 1:26:53 Alright, once again, I apologize for 1:26:55 all mistakes and shortcomings. We 1:26:56 conclude with Subhanakallahumma 1:26:58 wabihamdika asyhadu alla ilaha illa 1:26:59 anta astaghfiruka wa atubu ilaik. 1:27:01 Billahi taufiq wal hidayah, 1:27:02 wassalamu'alaikum warahmatullahi 1:27:04 wabarakatuh. Rasil TV. For one Islam.
