Peace be upon you, 0:18 and Allah's mercy and blessings. 0:20 And peace be upon you too. 0:21 O Allah, send prayers upon our master 0:22 Muhammad and the family of our master 0:24 Muhammad. Praise be to Allah, we meet 0:26 again today at the Rasil studio. We 0:28 meet again in the Ulumul Quran program 0:30 with Ustaz Husin Alatas and Ustaz Otong 0:33 Surasman. We will take the theme of the 0:36 Quran and the challenges of the times. 0:39 Because it is said that The Quran is 0:44 not developing in terms of research 0:46 surrounding the Quran. The reasons, we 0:51 will hear later from Ustaz Husin and 0:53 Ustaz Otong. Very well. This program is 0:57 also broadcast to Radio Latansah 0:59 Sukabumi, Radio Habibullah in 1:01 Banyuwangi, Radio Sela FM in Batam, 1:04 Radio Almas in Magelang, Radio Lusi and 1:06 Amraowan in Semarang, Radio Rasil Mer 1:09 in Yogyakarta, Radio Rasal in Palembang 1:11 , and Radio Madina in Pontianak, as 1:14 well as the community radio in 1:16 Bondowoso. Peace be upon you, Ustaz 1:20 Husin, Ustaz. All right, 1:22 let us begin this program by reciting 1:24 Al-Fatihah. 1:25 I seek refuge in Allah from the 1:26 accursed Satan. 1:31 In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious 1:32 , the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah 1:38 , Lord of the worlds, the Most Gracious 1:43 , the Most Merciful. Master of the Day 1:49 of Judgment. You alone we worship and 1:53 You alone we ask for help. Guide us to 2:00 the straight path, the path of those 2:06 upon whom You have bestowed favor, not 2:11 of those who have evoked [Your] anger 2:13 or of those who are astray. 2:21 Amen. Yes, hopefully Allah makes it 2:23 easy for us to understand what our 2:25 teachers will convey later. All right, 2:28 as an introduction, the Quran and its 2:29 challenges will be presented by Ustaz 2:31 Otong. Ustaz Otong, 2:33 peace be upon you, and Allah's mercy 2:35 and blessings. 2:36 And peace be upon you, and Allah's 2:37 mercy and blessings. Praise be to Allah 2:40 , Lord of the worlds, and the outcome 2:42 is for the righteous. I bear witness 2:45 that there is no god but Allah alone, 2:47 without partners, and I bear witness 2:49 that Muhammad is His servant and 2:50 messenger. O Allah, send prayers, 2:53 greetings, and blessings upon our 2:55 master Muhammad and upon his family and 2:57 all his companions. To proceed. We 3:01 honor our teacher, Husin Alattas, and 3:04 Mr. Muhammad Krishna Rasil. 3:09 Listeners and viewers of Rasil TV who 3:11 are honored by Allah subhanahu wa 3:13 ta'ala. Praise be to Allah, this 3:17 morning we can meet again to discuss 3:20 the sciences of the Quran. A science of 3:23 the Quran that is very important. 3:27 Perhaps it can be said that it is a 3:29 very rare science and one abandoned by 3:31 the Muslim community, right, Bib? 3:36 Because there is no development. Then, 3:40 research is still rare, only stuck to 3:44 the raw materials but not developed 3:47 broadly. Including in higher education, 3:54 where it is only one semester, in 3:58 postgraduate studies one semester, in 4:00 undergraduate one semester. So, how can 4:04 one deepen knowledge about the Quran 4:08 through the lens of Ulumul Quran, so 4:12 one ends up gaining nothing. Whereas if 4:16 we develop it from various aspects, the 4:20 Quran is the source of all knowledge 4:24 that must be developed. Perhaps one 4:29 example that is being developed, though 4:32 we don't know for sure if it is a 4:34 descendant of Prophet Noah, peace be 4:37 upon him. The first who was given 4:40 revelation to build a great ship was 4:43 Prophet Noah. Then I once traveled to 4:49 Selayar Island, Bib. To give a seminar 4:50 in Selayar. It turned out I missed the 4:54 ship at Bira Island. In Bira, it turned 4:58 out that there is the making of Phinisi 5:02 ships for sailing around the world. The 5:06 one who made it was Mr., at that 5:09 time he made three ships. Three ships, 5:12 all made of wood; the biggest one at 5:14 that time had three decks, we even got 5:16 to board it, it was truly extraordinary 5:18 . Without any formal schooling, they 5:20 could do it. 5:21 Indonesia. 5:21 Yes, without schooling, they could 5:23 build ships. Perhaps it's a legacy from 5:25 Prophet Noah, you know. I mean, this is 5:28 one form of development, although after 5:30 I asked, it was quite heartbreaking. I 5:34 asked, "How much is this biggest one?"" 5:36 This one is 6 billion.""But the license 5:39 is Dutch.""How much does the 5:40 Netherlands sell it for?""Maybe 50, 5:43 maybe 100 billion," so the Hajis who 5:46 spent about 4 to 6 months building that 5:49 ship only received that much. This is 5:54 one example of the development of 5:56 Quranic sciences in terms of 5:59 shipbuilding; the root is from the 6:01 Quran as well. Now, including medicine, 6:05 for example, which is developing now 6:07 with eye doctors and all sorts of 6:09 specialists. But how is it viewed from 6:13 the perspective of the Quran? It 6:15 shouldn't be detached. So, I apologize, 6:20 but in the end, what is sought is 6:22 financial gain, not service. Actually, 6:27 there was a doctor who once did some 6:30 research, Dr. Supono, an obstetrician, 6:33 he once wrote, I was even given his 6:36 book about water. He was also 6:40 extraordinary. 6:41 Water, what kind? 6:42 Yeah? About water. It discusses water 6:45 from Quranic sources, about water, 6:47 everything regarding water, including 6:49 the origins of human creation, which 6:51 was revealed there in medical terms. 6:53 Now, this might be just one tiny, small 6:56 piece of what has been developed by our 6:59 people. Now, perhaps, how can Quranic 7:03 science develop in the future? Even in 7:06 higher education, one semester is not 7:09 enough. Maybe it should be four 7:11 semesters, creating a good curriculum. 7:14 That's what you call development. Right 7:16 now, it's stagnant. Why? Because there 7:18 are those who argue that Quranic 7:20 science has always been the same. This 7:22 is an opinion that is not quite right. 7:26 Yes, it should actually be developed 7:29 through direct research via Quranic 7:32 verses. Including myself trying to 7:35 develop it, although naturally, it must 7:38 be guided by our teachers, so that 7:40 there will be extraordinary insights 7:43 later. For instance, the Quran speaks 7:45 about character from its essence. Now, 7:49 one of the things I wrote actually 7:52 opens a small gap. Currently, the 7:57 benchmark is the West, including 7:59 character studies; the figure Thomas 8:01 Lickona, a professor from America, only 8:04 provides 10 characters to improve 8:06 humanity. It turns out, as I researched 8:09 , Prophet Ibrahim's character alone 8:12 consists of 36 traits. So, you cannot 8:15 improve humanity with only 10 8:16 characters. At least 36 characters. 8:19 This is part of the development of 8:21 Quranic science related to human 8:23 character, but it is also stagnant. Why 8:26 ? Because the results of my research 8:29 cannot be developed further, as it is 8:32 being done on its own, so to speak. If 8:36 only this could enter what you might 8:39 call, uh 8:40 uh, the curriculum, uh 8:43 what do you call it, the Ministry of 8:44 National Education. Wow, that would be 8:46 very good, that’s what I mean. Yes, 8:47 this is what is called the development 8:49 of Qur'anic studies, from the character 8:51 perspective, not yet from other sides. 8:53 Now, perhaps for more clarity, let us 8:56 listen to our teacher, Al-Habib Hussein 8:59 Alatas. From me, this is just an 9:03 introduction, so that we may think 9:05 about developing Qur'anic studies 9:07 together. What is clear is that Imam 9:12 Suyuti has already said that if all the 9:14 sciences of the Qur'an were to be 9:16 written down, a person's life would end 9:19 before they finished writing them. 9:22 Thank you. Peace be upon you, and 9:24 Allah's mercy and blessings. 9:26 And peace be upon you too. 9:27 I seek refuge in Allah from the 9:29 accursed Satan. In the name of Allah, 9:30 the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. 9:33 All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the 9:36 worlds, abundant, good, and blessed 9:39 praise as He loves. O Allah, send 9:44 prayers, greetings, and blessings upon 9:47 Your servant and messenger, our master 9:49 and prophet, Muhammad, 9:52 and upon his family and companions, and 9:54 grant them peace. Glory be to You, we 9:58 have no knowledge except what You have 10:00 taught us; indeed, You are the Knowing, 10:03 the Wise. And there is no power nor 10:06 strength except by Allah, the Exalted, 10:08 the Almighty. Our Lord, increase us in 10:11 knowledge and join us with the 10:12 righteous. And grant us an honorable 10:17 mention among those who come after. And 10:20 place us among the inheritors of the 10:22 Garden of Bliss. And do not disgrace me 10:25 on the Day they are resurrected, the 10:27 Day when there will not benefit [anyone 10:29 ] wealth or children, but only one who 10:31 comes to Allah with a sound heart. To 10:34 proceed. Brothers and sisters, 10:39 listeners, and viewers of Silaturahim 10:44 Radio TV, who are blessed by Allah. 10:48 Praise be to Allah, today we can meet 10:50 again under the shelter of the Qur'an. 10:54 Together with Ustaz Oto Surasman and 10:57 Ustaz Muhammad Krishna, accompanied by 11:01 Neza Anis and other crew members. 11:03 Likewise, I extend my greetings to the 11:07 entire Rasil family, the Muslim men and 11:11 women. May the peace of Allah be upon 11:14 you all, and His mercy and blessings. 11:18 We ought to be very grateful to Allah 11:20 Subhanah wa Ta'ala. In the midst of 11:26 this worldly life which is full of 11:32 various kinds of complications. Allah 11:37 Subhanah wa Ta'ala, in the midst of 11:39 this darkness of life, He shows us the 11:42 way. Illuminating our lives with the 11:47 light of His Book. Making the Messenger 11:52 who brought the Book our teacher and 11:54 the best role model for us to guide us 11:57 all toward a straighter life. Allah 12:02 says, "Indeed, this Qur'an guides to 12:04 that which is most suitable." Indeed, 12:09 this Qur'an guides us toward a life 12:12 that is straighter, more ideal, more 12:16 perfect, full of balance, so that we 12:19 can live our lives safely, peacefully, 12:26 and also place our feet on the right 12:30 footing toward a clear destination. 12:35 Just as the Qur'an explains to us all 12:38 where we and this universe came from. 12:43 What do we live in this world for, 12:46 where will we go? What is the right way 12:49 to live? Everything is answered by the 12:52 Qur'an with clear and plain answers. 12:57 Answers that eliminate hesitation and 13:00 doubts like the doubts that haunt those 13:02 who do not receive guidance from Allah 13:05 Subhanah wa Ta'ala. Finally, they go 13:09 astray, worshipping beings they created 13:12 with their own hands or created with 13:15 their imagination. 13:19 They do not worship the God who created 13:22 them, but instead, they worship the God 13:24 they created themselves. Allah 13:31 Subhanahu wa ta'ala explains to us the 13:34 mission of His Messenger and also the 13:37 role of the Qur'an. Allah Subhanahu wa 13:45 ta'ala clearly explains to us, "inna 13:48 arsalnaka syahidan wa mubasyiran wa 13:51 nadzira." Truly, We have sent you, O 13:58 Messenger of Allah, as what? As a 14:01 witness. Meaning as a witness that 14:07 Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala created 14:09 humans, placed them upon this earth, 14:15 made them His stewards, and Allah 14:18 Subhanahu wa ta'ala has sent guidance 14:21 to them. And the Messenger is the human 14:27 who received the message from Allah and 14:29 conveyed it to mankind. So, in the 14:33 Hereafter, humans cannot claim that 14:35 they never received guidance or 14:37 direction from Allah. And the guidance 14:41 conveyed by the Messenger to mankind is 14:44 clear, explicit, and not confusing. 14:47 They know what is meant by "as-sirat 14:49 al-mustaqim." 14:53 The Qur'an truly becomes their life 14:56 guide. Its values become the benchmark 14:58 and foundation. Unlike the Muslim 15:02 community today, which is what? Which 15:05 is fragmented. 15:08 Various sects have divided them. 15:13 They claim to be Muslims, but in 15:15 reality, hostility and hatred rage in 15:18 their hearts. Some of them even have 15:21 the audacity to justify shedding the 15:23 blood of others. We are sure that all 15:27 this does not come from Islam, nor from 15:30 the Qur'an, but stems from 15:32 misunderstandings of Islam because they 15:36 do not refer to the Islamic values 15:39 explained by the Qur'an. Even though 15:44 Allah revealed the Qur'an and sent His 15:46 Messenger so that those who go astray 15:49 do not do so in ignorance, after 15:51 receiving the explanation. And also so 15:54 that what? Those who follow the 15:58 guidance truly realize that the path 16:00 they follow guarantees the truth. But 16:04 what is happening now is that most 16:07 Muslims can almost be said to be 16:12 disconnected from the Qur'an, except 16:14 for reading and memorizing it. 16:17 Indeed, lately, many people are 16:19 memorizing the Qur'an, 16:21 reciting it with beautiful voices. They 16:26 lead Muslims in prayer at mosques, 16:28 especially during Ramadan, completing 16:31 the recitation of the Qur'an. But ask 16:34 them, how familiar are they with the 16:37 meanings of the Qur'an? Never mind the 16:42 laypeople; even most of those who 16:44 memorize the Qur'an are confused. 16:48 Most are confused. They do not know 16:51 where they should start. They 16:54 are only taught to read the Qur'an, 16:56 understand the rules of Tajweed, and 16:58 memorize it, but are not taught to 17:01 understand the contents of the Qur'an. 17:06 Scholars in Islamic boarding schools 17:08 also instruct their students to 17:10 memorize the Qur'an. But their focus is 17:14 not on the Qur'an itself, 17:17 but on books written by scholars, with 17:19 the excuse that the scholars 'writings 17:22 represent the Qur'an. Whereas this is 17:25 actually something that is not true. 17:27 What was collected by the scholars are 17:30 only fruits picked from the Qur'an for 17:33 the needs of one era and one condition. 17:36 Whereas the Qur'an 17:37 is the book prepared to face the 17:39 challenges of time with all its 17:41 complexities, developments, and changes 17:43 . While the opinions of scholars are 17:47 mostly only applicable to their own era 17:51 and environment. Because it does not 17:55 originate from Allah's knowledge, but 17:58 from human interpretation and 18:01 understanding, which is constrained by 18:04 various limitations. Whether it be 18:07 space, 18:08 time, or knowledge. It is different 18:11 from Allah's knowledge. Allah says, " 18:13 Walaqad fasalnahu walaqad jinaahum 18:19 bikitabin fasalnahu' ala 'ilmin. Indeed 18:25 , We have brought them a Book which We 18:30 have detailed, 18:34 We have explained in great detail.' Ala 18:36 'ilmin, 18:38 the tanwin here is' ala 'ilmin, eh,' 18:40 ala 'ilmina, 18:41 a tanwin iwad. So, We have brought and 18:45 granted them a Book that We have 18:48 explained in detail based on Our 18:51 knowledge. 18:55 So how can Allah's knowledge be equated 18:58 with the knowledge possessed by humans? 19:02 The knowledge of Allah Subhanahu wa 19:04 ta'ala is absolute, encompassing the 19:07 past, the present, and the future. But 19:10 human knowledge is limited by time, 19:15 space, is that not so? It is also 19:19 constrained by various human 19:22 limitations. Now, unfortunately, the 19:29 Muslim community, and even some 19:31 scholars, without realizing it, have 19:33 led the Muslim community 19:37 away from such a vast ocean of 19:41 knowledge 19:45 toward narrow places. Toward what? 19:49 Toward narrow ponds. Yes. Then these 19:52 scholars claim that this is what you 19:54 call an ocean. 19:56 Even though what they witness in the 19:59 ponds they built to breed their fish is 20:02 just a narrow space that does not 20:04 represent the ocean at all. 20:10 Is that not true? 20:10 Yes. Yes. 20:11 It does not represent the ocean in the 20:13 slightest. 20:14 Likewise, what scholars understand from 20:17 various knowledge they extract from the 20:20 Qur'an can be right or wrong. Even what 20:23 is correct does not represent the 20:24 Qur'an. They only pick a small portion 20:28 of what they get from the Qur'an. 20:32 Like someone entering the ocean, taking 20:35 a few fish and marine treasures. What 20:38 do they get? Only what? Only a small 20:41 part of the wealth stored in the ocean. 20:47 And there is a difference between being 20:49 in the ocean and someone who is just 20:51 witnessing the marine products brought 20:54 before them. They do not witness the 20:56 beauty. 20:58 Or the signs of Allah found in the 21:00 ocean. So if we speak about the Qur'an 21:10 and the challenges of the times, we 21:13 find that research or studies 21:15 surrounding the Qur'an directly have 21:18 almost reached a standstill. If someone 21:24 says they are studying at Al-Azhar. 21:29 Studying at Al-Azhar, then enrolling in 21:32 the Usuluddin faculty, majoring in 21:35 Ulumul Qur'an, the sciences of the 21:38 Qur'an. We see that our studies 21:41 surrounding Ulumul Qur'an do not touch 21:43 the Qur'an itself. 21:45 Hm. But only relate to the written 21:49 works produced 21:51 by scholars who write on Ulumul Qur'an. 21:56 Starting from Imam Zarkasyi's work 21:58 titled Al-Burhan fi Ulumul Qur'an. That 22:01 becomes the reference, because that is 22:05 considered the most classic book they 22:07 have found. Then Imam Suyuti in 22:11 Al-Itqan, they try to summarize what is 22:13 in Al-Burhan. H. After that, scholars 22:19 in this century began to write and 22:22 develop what was written by whom? By 22:29 the author of Al-Burhan. 22:30 Likewise, the author of Al-Itqan. 22:32 But it turns out there were no updates. 22:36 Yes. 22:38 Then there is Sheikh Alzamus's book 22:39 called Manahil al-Irfan fi Ulum 22:41 al-Quran. Then we find studies written 22:45 by scholars we know recently, like 22:49 Sheikh Ali Sabuni, 22:52 as well as Manna Al-Qattan and others. 22:56 It turns out we find, including Dr. 22:57 Subhi Saleh, 22:59 that we discover there is nothing new. 23:03 There is nothing new. 23:04 Yes. 23:05 Most of it is research, not centered on 23:09 the Quran, but on the works and 23:12 writings of past scholars regarding the 23:16 Quran, without directly interacting 23:19 with the Quran. But what we want is for 23:26 what we learn and research to be truly 23:29 pure from the Quran. Besides studying 23:32 the knowledge written by past scholars, 23:35 we take what we deem accurate and 23:37 correct. Yes, we do not just swallow it 23:41 whole. Regarding asbabun nuzul or 23:44 abrogation, the most important thing is 23:47 for us to interact directly with the 23:49 Quran. Because the Quran invites us to 23:53 reflect upon it, to prove the truth of 23:56 the Quran. If it were not from Allah, 23:58 they would surely find many 24:00 contradictions in it. Walau kana min 24:02 ghairillah lawajadu fihi ikhtilafan 24:04 katsira. But when the scholars of the 24:08 Ummah were turned away from the Quran 24:10 toward jurisprudence, the result was 24:13 conflict. Fanaticism was born, 24:15 fanatical toward school of thought A, B 24:18 , C. Then, even among the followers of 24:21 the Shafi'i school, for example, or 24:23 Maliki, conflicts also occurred among 24:26 them. Until there was a book called 24:30 Al-Insaf. Fima Ruyia' an al-Imam Ahmad 24:34 bin Hanbal. 24:35 There is a book titled Insaf or Insaaf, 24:38 yes. 24:40 Meaning, speaking objectively. 24:44 Hm. 24:45 Regarding various narrations attributed 24:47 to Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal. For one issue 24:50 , there could be 10 to 20 opinions from 24:52 Ahmad bin Hanbal. 24:52 Hm. 24:53 Now, how can this difference lead to 24:55 unity? This is from Ahmad bin Hanbal. 25:01 But the Quran only has one version. 25:06 If we sit together with knowledgeable 25:08 people to study one or two verses and 25:10 reflect on them, God willing, a 25:12 consensus will be found. But hearts 25:14 have drifted because they are ruled and 25:16 dominated by fanaticism toward groups. 25:19 Opinions lead to the worship of created 25:22 beings, to the point where they 25:24 prioritize created beings even over 25:26 Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. Prioritizing 25:29 the products of beings over the Book of 25:31 Allah. 25:32 Is that not true? 25:33 Yes. So if we observe together, we have 25:39 truly strayed far from what was advised 25:45 by Allah and reminded by His Messenger. 25:50 In Surah Abasa, for example, this is a 25:53 surah found in Juz Amma that we often 25:55 read. 25:56 Most people memorize it. Allah reminds 26:01 us:" Kalla innaha tazkirah, faman 26:04 sya’a dzakarah, fi suhufin mukarramah 26:07 , marfu’atin mutahharah, bi-aydi 26:09 safarah, kiramin bararah. "Indeed. This 26:17 verse reminds the Messenger not to 26:20 force himself to make people believe 26:23 while they are controlled by arrogance 26:26 and pride. But the Messenger of Allah 26:28 —Allah says to His Messenger—" Know 26:30 the role of the Messenger. " 26:32 Yes, like that. Likewise, the function 26:34 of the Quran is as a tazkirah. Meaning, 26:40 a reminder. 26:41 A reminder. 26:42 A lesson, not coercion. Faman sya’a 26:45 dzakarah. Whoever wants to, please, 26:47 what? Take a lesson. From where? Fi 26:50 suhufin mukarramah. From the pages of 26:53 the exalted scrolls. Marfu'atin 26:57 mutahharah, elevated in rank, for they 27:00 are from Allah, unlike books written by 27:02 humans. How could they be compared? 27:05 Indeed. 27:06 Bi safarah, delivered through the hands 27:10 of messengers. Safarah is the plural of 27:12 safir. 27:13 Messengers. But not messengers sent by 27:16 a nation, rather sent by Allah 27:18 Subhanahu wa ta'ala. Rabbul 'alamin. 27:22 Delivered by the hands of noble 27:24 messengers, kiraman bararah, who are 27:27 noble and obedient to Allah. That is 27:30 Gabriel, who brings the revelation. 27:32 Then our Prophet and the prophets 27:34 before him received the books from 27:36 Allah. 27:38 Kiram bararah. Then Allah Subhanahu wa 27:41 ta'ala rebukes those who do not welcome 27:43 this. Qutilal insanu ma akfar. Woe to 27:48 man, how cursed he is. How ungrateful 27:50 he is as a human being created by Allah 27:53 , receiving His abundant blessings yet 27:55 rejecting the book Allah sent as a 27:58 guide for their lives. Replacing it 28:00 with something else. How ungrateful." 28:06 Min ayyin khalaq, "look back, from what 28:08 was he created?" Min nutfatin khalaqahu 28:13 faqaddar, "from a drop of sperm, a 28:16 fluid so lowly and humble, coming from 28:19 a foul-smelling canal, completely 28:22 unaware." Min ayyin khalaq, min 28:27 nutfatin khalaqahu faqaddar, "then 28:30 proceeding according to Allah's decree, 28:33 from the sperm fertilizing the ovum, to 28:36 becoming a zygote, then developing 28:39 until a human is formed perfectly. All 28:42 without the role of father, mother, or 28:45 himself. Everything is from Allah. 28:48 Who bestows upon him various favors and 28:50 gifts. Even a single tooth has such 28:53 high value. 28:54 Yes. I 28:54 Right? Hm. 28:56 If someone wants to get, say, a dental 28:58 crown, it could cost millions just for 29:01 a crown. 29:05 If they get a false tooth, a single 29:07 tooth is quite expensive. 29:09 Hm. 29:10 But it could never match the tooth 29:12 Allah gave, which has nerves that can 29:14 feel the food. Everything has such 29:19 great value in the sight of Allah. 29:21 Secondly, our kidneys cannot be 29:23 replaced for hundreds of trillions of 29:25 rupiah. Someone who uses a machine for 29:29 dialysis, is it the same? As the kidney 29:32 that Allah provided. 29:37 Min ayyin khalaqahu min ayyin khalaq 29:39 min nutfatin khalaqahu faqaddar thumma 29:41 as-sabila yassar. Allah eases the exit 29:45 from its mother's womb. Allah eases the 29:50 journey of its life from a baby, then a 29:52 child, teenager, adult, until old age. 29:55 How much ease does Allah provide in the 29:57 journey of life? Thumma as-sabila 30:04 yassar thumma amatahu fa-aqbar. Then 30:07 the end of his life comes because he 30:09 has finished his test period. Allah 30:12 causes him to pass away and buries him 30:14 back into the earth, just as his origin 30:16 . Thumma idza sya'a ansyar. Then when 30:19 the time comes, Allah will resurrect 30:22 and gather him again. Look at this. 30:27 These verses invite us all, not just 30:29 scholars, to interact with the 30:30 Al-Qur'an. To learn the truth of the 30:33 religion from the Qur'an. The role of 30:36 the scholar is to be Rabbani, one who 30:38 studies the Qur'an and teaches it. Kunu 30:41 rabbaniyyina bima kuntum 30:42 tu'allimunal-kitaba wa bima kuntum 30:44 tadrusun. So, the Prophet's role is as 30:48 a witness for Allah by reciting the 30:51 Quranic verses until Allah says to His 30:53 prophet," Ya ayyuhar rasul balligh ma 30:56 unzila ilaika wa in lam taf'al fama 30:58 ballaghta risalatah. "" O Messenger, 31:01 deliver the revelation that has been 31:04 sent down to you. "If you do not, it 31:07 means you have not fulfilled or 31:09 delivered Allah's message. So, the 31:11 Prophet was commanded to deliver the 31:13 message. I want to ask, are the hadith 31:18 collections—be it Bukhari, Muslim, 31:20 Abu Daud, Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah, Nasai, 31:23 Muwatta Malik, or from the Shia side, 31:26 say, Al-Kafi, Man La Yahduruhu al-Faqih 31:28 , At-Tahdhib, Al-Istibsar, and others 31:31 —What are these, if not? They are not 31:35 the message that Allah delivered. 31:38 Instead, they are a collection of 31:40 sayings spoken by the Messenger. The 31:44 reports could be true, or they could be 31:46 false. There are two possibilities. 31:48 Right? 31:49 They could be true, they could be lies. 31:51 But the Quran is indeed the message of 31:54 Allah. 31:55 So why are we being turned away from 31:56 the Quran toward others, under the 31:58 pretext that we are incapable if we 31:59 engage directly with the Quran? 32:01 This is a lie. Because Allah commanded 32:03 His messenger to deliver the Quran. 32:05 Right. 32:07 If you do not deliver it, you are not 32:10 fulfilling your duty as a messenger. 32:12 Now, if the Messenger was commanded to 32:14 recite and deliver the Quran, are 32:16 scholars then better than the Messenger 32:18 ? 32:20 Do they assume their books are better 32:22 than the Book of Allah? Why not deliver 32:25 the Quran? Why not explain the Quran? 32:30 And then add their explanations from 32:33 what? 32:35 From reports that are in line with the 32:36 Quran. Not reports that correct or 32:39 alter the Quran. What is happening now 32:43 is that because we are not familiar 32:45 with the Quran, we are being led away 32:47 from it, following opinions and reports 32:49 that clearly contradict the Quran, yet 32:51 we still follow them. Why? Because we 32:55 have no standard, no scale at all to 32:57 know whether this is right or wrong. 33:00 Because all this time, the community 33:01 has been turned away from the Quran. 33:04 This is a bitter truth. Arabs call it" 33:08 haqiqatul murr. " 33:10 A bitter truth that we truly feel, and 33:13 it has become a culture within what? 33:17 Within Islamic society and its scholars 33:19 . Even in the universities found in the 33:22 Middle East, we find this. We are not 33:25 studying the sciences of the Quran, 33:28 because it is not the Quran itself that 33:30 we study directly, but we study works 33:32 and writings about the sciences of the 33:34 Quran. We memorize them, then we answer 33:38 during exams, but we do not interact 33:40 directly with the Quran. So," inna 33:47 arsalnaka syahida. "Besides Allah 33:49 sending His messenger as a witness, he 33:52 is also a bringer of glad tidings and a 33:55 warner. Glad tidings and warnings are 33:58 contained in the Book of Allah recited 34:00 by the Messenger, not sourced from 34:01 himself. He only carries out the 34:04 mission that Allah entrusted to him. 34:07 Delivering the verses of Allah that 34:09 contain glad tidings. Likewise, 34:12 delivering the verses of Allah that 34:14 contain warnings, so that humans truly 34:16 feel they are hearing the warnings and 34:18 glad tidings directly from Allah, not 34:20 through intermediaries. 34:23 So, the Quran is recited directly, like 34:25 someone ordered to read an announcement 34:27 from a king. Coming before the public, 34:31 he reads what is written in the 34:33 announcement without adding or 34:35 subtracting anything. Coming to the 34:41 mayor to receive a decision issued by 34:43 the President, he reads it, reads the 34:46 decision, then submits what he has? He 34:49 has the decision. In the old days, you 34:51 received an order. 34:54 Now, let's ask, do we get the same 34:57 thing from the scholars? 35:01 No. 35:02 Reciting the messages of Allah just as 35:05 the Prophet did. Conveying good news 35:07 and warnings, and also being a witness 35:10 that we have delivered the message of 35:12 Allah. If not, the ones responsible are 35:15 not the public, but the scholars who 35:17 will be called by Allah before the 35:18 idolaters. In verse 174 of surah 35:31 An-Nisa, Allah says calling out to 35:37 mankind," Ya ayyuhannas qod jaakum "" 35:42 burhanum mirbikum wa anzalna ilaikum 35:45 nur mubinan, "verse 174 of Surah 35:49 An-Nisa. O mankind, a proof has come to 35:56 you from your Lord, and We have sent 36:01 down to you a clear light, a clear 36:06 explanation. Allah likens His verses to 36:11 sunlight, 36:12 yes. 36:14 Where the earth was once in darkness 36:15 and we could not distinguish the 36:16 objects around us. The bright sunlight 36:20 allows us to see clearly. The same goes 36:23 for the role of the Quran. Meaning the 36:26 Quran is clear, explicit, not confusing 36:28 ; instead, it removes confusion. It 36:30 contains no darkness; it is what 36:32 removes the darkness. What is meant by" 36:37 burhan "? Burhan is often translated in 36:41 our language as an argument. An argu- 36:45 argument. Something is not called an 36:50 argument unless it can be what? Trusted 36:53 and believed. Those who hold on to the 36:59 Quran mean they hold on to an argument, 37:01 a solid, strong proof. When he faces 37:05 Allah, he truly has a strong reason by 37:07 following the Quran. And when he 37:12 conveys the truth by bringing the Quran 37:14 , then automatically what? His argument 37:18 is truly solid, strong, and irrefutable 37:20 . Unless there is, what you call it, a 37:23 mistake in understanding the Quran. But 37:26 the Quran itself is an undoubtable 37:29 argument. Unlike narratives. And We 37:35 have sent down for you a light that 37:36 provides brightness, a clear 37:38 explanation. The word" mubin "is taken 37:40 from what word? From the word" bana, " 37:42 which means clear, bright, luminous. 37:47 Faamalladzina amanu billah. As for 37:50 those who believe in Allah, and hold on 37:53 to whom? To the Quran mentioned earlier 37:55 . Fasayudhiluhum fi rahmatin minhu. 37:59 Allah will enter them into a mercy from 38:01 Him. And will grant them bounty from 38:06 Allah that is infinite. Wahdihim ilaihi 38:09 shiratin mustaqim. And Allah will guide 38:13 those people to Him on a straight path. 38:16 Wahdihim ilaihi shiratin mustaqim. Then 38:26 if we read Surah Yunus, read the surah 38:31 Yunus, try to reflect on verse 57. Ya 38:37 ayyuhannas, O mankind, qod jaatkum 38:41 mauidatum mirbikum. There has come to 38:45 you a" mauidah, "advice, guidance, and 38:50 instruction directly from your Lord who 38:52 created you. 38:53 Is this verse only for prophets, 38:55 messengers, and scholars, or for all of 38:57 humanity? 38:58 All of humanity. 38:59 God addresses them as" ya ayyuhannas "( 39:00 O mankind). Not" ya ayyuhan nabi "(O 39:01 prophet). Not" ya ayyuhal ulama "(O 39:03 scholars), but" ya ayyuhannas. "" O 39:05 mankind, qod jaatkum mauidatum mirbikum 39:09 . "There has come to you a mauidah, a 39:12 sermon, advice, and guidance from your 39:15 Creator, your Caretaker and Sustainer." 39:21 Wasyifaun lima fisudur. "Besides being 39:24 a sermon, it is also a healer and 39:26 remedy for the various kinds of 39:27 diseases found within your chests. 39:30 Because if the soul is sick, whatever 39:33 medicine is given to guide it will be 39:36 useless. Heal the soul from arrogance, 39:41 from conceit, from shirk, yes, from 39:44 various kinds of heart diseases. When 39:47 the heart is healthy, it will be able 39:49 to accept the truth that is seen or 39:51 heard." Wasyifaun lima fisudur, "a 39:55 healer, a remedy for all kinds of 39:57 diseases found in the chest. Then" wa 40:01 hudan warahmatun lil mukminin, "also as 40:04 a guide for the path 40:08 and a mercy that God bestows upon those 40:11 who believe." Qul bifadlillahi 40:13 wabirahmati. "Say, with the bounty of 40:16 God and His mercy." Fabidzalika 40:19 falyafrahu "with what God has revealed 40:22 of His scripture which contains what? 40:26 As a sermon, yes. As a healer, as 40:30 guidance and mercy. Yes, they should 40:34 welcome all of this with joy. Instead, 40:36 they are the ones who 40:38 shrink away and sour their faces, 40:39 unhappy when they are recited to or 40:41 invited back to the Qur'an." Hua khairu 40:44 mimma yajmaun. "This book is better 40:47 than all that they gather of knowledge 40:49 and the works they have written, which 40:51 are considered great. These are just 40:54 the works of creatures. Why are we 40:56 upside down right now? Is this verse 41:00 57-58 from what surah? 41:03 From Surah Yunus. From the previous 41:06 surah, it is clear how God condemns 41:08 those who turn away and abandon the 41:10 Qur'an. Likewise, from Surah Al-Ma'idah 41:12 , it is clear that God commanded His 41:14 messenger to convey God's message. Then 41:16 I ask, do the existing collections of 41:19 hadiths written by scholars represent 41:21 the message of God? 41:25 Yes. The Qur'an represents the message 41:27 of God. The text and content are 41:29 directly from the Qur'an, and written 41:30 when? The text and content are all from 41:33 God. Written during the Prophet's 41:35 lifetime. Whereas hadiths were 41:37 collected later on. If it were indeed 41:39 the message of God, the Prophet would 41:41 have taken care to collect it. Moreover 41:46 , these collections have not yet been 41:48 proven to be authentic from the 41:49 Messenger. To prove it, we don't just 41:51 look at the narrators and the chain of 41:52 transmission; we look at its 41:54 consistency with the Qur'an. He 41:55 because the Prophet, his entire what? 41:57 His entire da'wah was all directed and 42:00 followed the compass of the Qur'an. Not 42:04 " qila wa ruwiya "(it is said and it is 42:06 narrated), but" qalallahu ta'ala "(God 42:09 Almighty has said). God speaks with 42:11 words that have no doubt whatsoever. 42:15 What I am conveying here may be felt as 42:18 an objection by some circles who are 42:21 accustomed to dealing with narrations 42:23 and opinions, thinking I am 42:25 disrespecting scholars. How could we 42:31 respect scholars more than God, more 42:32 than the Prophet? Impossible. Therefore 42:36 , the definition of a scholar should be 42:39 someone who truly carries out and 42:41 conveys the mandate of God Subhanahu wa 42:43 ta'ala. Now, let's continue, Ustaz 42:48 Otong. How can we convince people of 42:56 the truth we convey? Of the truth we 43:00 convey if that truth itself is doubted. 43:06 Right? 43:07 Yes. 43:08 And how could a doubted truth be 43:09 capable of facing the challenges of the 43:11 times? These challenges are not 43:15 imaginative, they are not made up. 43:18 These are real challenges faced by the 43:21 Ummah, with Western civilization, which 43:24 is currently replacing it—a Western 43:26 civilization that is material—what? 43:30 Materialistic, yes. Materialism becomes 43:33 what? It becomes a god that is 43:36 worshipped, causing humanity to drown 43:39 in materialism today. Their attention, 43:42 their focus is fixed on that. Yes, 43:45 and we come to them bringing doubts 43:50 that are not convincing, or bringing 43:54 the opinions of so-and-so, and 43:55 so-and-so. And on average, the opinions 43:59 of scholars here cannot be proven true. 44:03 Because why? Because in the name of 44:05 religion, people only say" we hear and 44:07 we obey. "Those who are fanatical to a 44:09 certain figure assume their words are 44:11 what? Representing Allah. 44:15 Even though those are just the 44:16 scholar's words. If they recite the 44:17 Quran and convey it as is, that is 44:19 truly conveying the message of 44:21 Allah. But if they convey the opinions 44:24 of so-and-so, the listeners do not feel 44:27 that those opinions have any legitimacy 44:30 . Has their truth ever been tested or 44:32 not? But if we present the Quran as it 44:35 is, if you doubt it, let us prove the 44:38 truth of the Quran before you. As for 44:41 us believers, we do not doubt this 44:43 truth. For those of you who doubt, what 44:45 is it? We will answer it. Therefore, 44:47 scholars need to delve into the 44:49 contents of the Quran. Not instead 44:51 spend their time doing what? Debating, 44:55 speaking, or teaching human writings 44:58 and works about Quranic sciences. Only 45:02 taking a part of what? The Quran's 45:05 contents, abandoning the Quran as a 45:08 whole. If we open, for example, the 45:12 book Al-Umm, written or narrated, 45:14 supposedly from Imam Shafi'i. People 45:17 read Al-Umm; as they read this book, 45:20 they connect with Imam Shafi'i through 45:24 the arguments and narrations collected. 45:29 It is called an ijtihad, it could be 45:31 right. It is called a narration, it 45:33 could be that the narration is truly 45:34 from Shafi'i or not. Because why? To 45:37 prove it is also truly very difficult. 45:41 Moreover, the book Al-Umm is mixed with 45:43 Shafi'i's opinions and those of his 45:45 students. Yes, we don't know if those 45:47 are Shafi'i's words for sure, or if 45:49 they are his students' opinions. But if 45:54 we read the Quran printed in Indonesia, 45:56 Europe, America, Arab countries, 45:58 anywhere, the text is the same, no 46:00 different. It does not represent a 46:04 group or faction, but represents Allah, 46:07 Lord of the Worlds, who revealed this 46:10 book based on His knowledge that 46:12 encompasses all things, conveyed by His 46:14 Messenger as the best role model for us 46:17 . Therefore, many scholars lately are 46:24 inviting us all to interact with the 46:26 Quran. Some people say we don't have 46:30 the knowledge for it. This is the 46:32 obstacle that is often used as an 46:34 excuse. 46:35 I found some people who don't master 46:38 Arabic, 46:40 even though they are getting on in age. 46:45 Previously living a glamorous life 46:47 among friends, drinking and even 46:49 gambling. At an age approaching 60, 46:53 perhaps, he repented. He began 46:56 returning to Allah, studying the Qur'an 46:59 . Alhamdulillah, he didn't learn Islam 47:04 from the mouths of men or from various 47:08 kinds of lessons delivered by scholars. 47:12 Instead, he first discovered the truth 47:14 of Islam from the Qur'an. 47:15 Uh 47:17 he studied the Qur'an. He absorbed and 47:20 reflected upon it. Finally, he 47:22 discovered a truth that was truly 47:23 beautiful. I graduated from Al-Azhar, 47:27 spent 8 years at Al-Azhar. This person 47:29 never graduated from a school related 47:31 to religion. He didn't even know Arabic 47:33 . One time I listened to his lecture, 47:36 yes. 47:37 He was lecturing, conveying to his 47:39 friends. 47:40 I found his understanding of the Qur'an 47:42 to be so beautiful. 47:44 His understanding of the Qur'an was so 47:46 beautiful. If there were any wrong 47:50 opinions, they could be corrected. But 47:52 what he conveyed from his reflection on 47:54 the Qur'an, he connected verse with 47:56 verse. As someone who did not 47:59 understand Arabic, he interacted 48:01 directly with the Qur'an and then 48:03 connected similar verses, producing a 48:05 truly beautiful meaning. Meanwhile, 48:09 those who study tafsir majors in 48:11 universities study the tafsir of Ibn 48:13 Kathir, tafsir of what's it called? 48:16 At-Tabari, studying the tafsir of 48:18 As-Sabuni, yes, studying the tafsir 48:21 let's say Al-Munir, studying the tafsir 48:23 of Al-Khazin, studying various tafsirs, 48:26 both classical and those written by 48:28 scholars; what they learn of their 48:30 opinions just stops there. 48:35 Even returning to reports that often 48:37 divert the Qur'an from its true 48:40 intended meaning. Whereas this person 48:43 who doesn't understand Arabic, reads 48:45 the Qur'an, reads the translation, 48:47 connects similar verses, producing an 48:49 extraordinarily beautiful meaning. 48:55 So if we reflect together, Ustaz, our 48:58 weakness at this moment is that we are 49:02 indifferent toward the Qur'an, both 49:04 scholars and the general public alike. 49:08 In fact, we find many people drowned in 49:11 hadith to the point where they assume, 49:14 as if 49:16 everything they receive from reports is 49:18 absolute truth. And if someone rejects 49:23 it, even though the one rejecting it 49:25 brings arguments and evidence that the 49:27 hadiths are incorrect and contradict 49:29 the Qur'an, they will condemn that 49:31 person as a denier of Sunnah or*ingkar 49:33 sunnah*. Uh 49:36 what's strange is they accuse those who 49:38 oppose reports that contradict the 49:39 Qur'an of being*ingkar sunnah*. What 49:41 about those who reject the Qur'an 49:42 because they prioritize reports? That 49:44 means being*ingkar Quran*. 49:46 Right? Now, let's return to our theme. 49:54 If we read several verses in the Qur'an 49:57 that explain the Prophet's mission, 50:00 both those found in Surah Al-Baqarah, 50:03 in Surah Al-Jumu'ah, and in Surah Ali 50:06 Imran. I will take an example from 50:08 Surah Al-Jumu'ah. Allah says," 50:10 Hualladzi ba'ata fil umiyina rasulan 50:14 minhum. "He is the one who sent among 50:19 the*ummi*people—who lived far from 50:21 civilization, from education and 50:24 knowledge, until most of them did not 50:26 know how to read or write, nor did they 50:29 have the insights of scientific 50:31 knowledge like those living among 50:33 societies that have tasted education. 50:38 God sent among them one of their own, 50:41 who received direct instruction from 50:44 God. Yatlu alaihim ayati. The Prophet 50:48 never studied philosophy. 50:51 The Prophet never graduated from any 50:53 university at all. Isn't that right? 50:56 So, everything the Prophet conveyed was 50:57 purely from God. Truly, what the 51:00 Prophet delivered was purely from God, 51:02 without any mixture of anything else. 51:04 Isn't that right? 51:07 Yatlu alaihim ayati. First, the 51:09 Prophet's duty is to recite God's 51:11 verses among them. 51:12 The verses found in the Scripture. Yes, 51:15 which invites us to reflect on God's 51:17 signs in the heavens, on earth, 51:19 including those within ourselves and 51:21 the depths of the ocean, leading us 51:23 toward enlightenment. 51:26 Making this universe into what? As 51:29 evidence and a field of research that 51:32 invites us to discover the incomparable 51:35 greatness and majesty of God. Yatlu 51:39 alaihim ayati. So the Qur'an invites us 51:43 to research, study, and contemplate. 51:46 Isn't that right? Inna fi khalqis 51:50 samawati wal ardilafil laili wahar 51:52 laatin anbab. Indeed, in the creation 51:55 of the heavens and the earth, and the 51:56 alternation of day and night, there are 51:58 signs for people of understanding. Now, 52:00 to understand God's greatness and 52:02 majesty in the creation of the heavens, 52:04 earth, and the change of day and night, 52:05 we need knowledge, right? Therefore, 52:09 studying the knowledge that reveals 52:11 God's greatness in the heavens is part 52:13 of our scholars 'duty. Then explaining 52:17 to the people the evidence of the truth 52:19 within those verses. But it is not just 52:22 mere knowledge; it continues further. 52:28 These people of understanding do not 52:31 just gain enlightenment and insight 52:33 into knowing God, but they are also 52:36 called to always remember God in 52:38 everything, whether standing, sitting, 52:41 or lying down. Until eventually, they 52:44 find the ultimate truth behind the 52:45 creation of this universe. Rabbana ma 52:48 khalaqta ba. O God, You have not 52:51 created all of this in vain. There is 52:54 not a single thing You created in vain. 52:57 Subhanak, glory be to You. Faqinaabanar 53:00 . Protect us, O God, from the 53:02 punishment of hellfire so that we do 53:04 not commit acts that lead us there. Be 53:06 it disbelief, arrogance, or 53:08 disobedience. Rbana innaka manudilinar 53:12 faq akzaita. O God, whoever You cast 53:16 into the hellfire is indeed someone You 53:18 have rightly humiliated because they 53:20 were defiant, arrogant, unwilling to 53:23 listen to You, and unwilling to study 53:25 or research the truths God has conveyed 53:27 . So they are indeed worthy of being 53:30 cast into the hellfire. It is different 53:34 from the next verse. In rabbana innana 53:36 sam'na munadian yunadil iman. Our Lord, 53:39 we have heard a caller inviting us to 53:42 believe. A caller who came from God's 53:44 messengers, welcomed by the heart, and 53:46 evidenced by God's signs in the heavens 53:48 and on earth. Just imagine, the 53:50 evidence of the Prophet's truth, the 53:52 heavens, the earth, and all their 53:53 contents, including ourselves. Innana 53:57 samna munadian yunadil iman anaminuikum 54:00 , who invites us all to believe in God. 54:04 Faamna, O God, we believe. A person of 54:08 faith is an intelligent person, someone 54:09 who thinks, uses their reason, 54:11 researches, and studies, not someone 54:12 who is confused or dazed. Rabbana 54:15 faghfirlana dhunubana wakaffir' 54:17 annasayyi'atina. O our Lord, forgive 54:20 our sins, erase our wrongdoings. Let us 54:29 die alongside those who are virtuous, 54:31 noble, and exalted. Rabbana wa atina ma 54:35 wa'adtana 'ala rusulik. O our Lord, 54:38 give us, bestow upon us what You 54:40 promised through Your messengers, from 54:42 Your forgiveness, Your mercy, and Your 54:44 Paradise. Wala tukhzina yawmal qiyamah. 54:52 Do not disgrace us on the Day of 54:54 Resurrection, in the hereafter later, O 54:56 Allah, because of the disgraceful deeds 54:58 we committed in this world. Yes, 55:00 meaning do not let us fall into 55:02 disgraceful deeds so that we end up 55:03 falling into disgrace on the final day. 55:06 Innaka la tukhliful mi'ad. Indeed, You 55:08 do not break Your promise. So, yatlu' 55:12 alayhim. The Prophet's mission of 55:13 reciting God's verses means inviting 55:15 people to be intelligent, to think. Not 55:18 to become people who just parrot things 55:20 , who are confused, yes. Not studying 55:22 at all, opposing it, yet feeling 55:24 themselves to be followers of the 55:26 Prophet's Sunnah or followers of the 55:28 Prophet's family. There are many such 55:29 claims. People claim to be those who 55:32 follow the companions, the family of 55:33 the Prophet. But if we verify it, they 55:36 are not even slightly similar. The 55:40 Prophet sowed mercy, but their words 55:43 and deeds sow slander. Then, from 55:48 enlightenment, it doesn't stop there; 55:50 wa yuzakkihim directly washes, cleanses 55:53 their souls from various kinds of 55:54 impurities. Their idolatry, envy, 55:58 arrogance, haughtiness, and pride are 56:01 all cleansed. Until, as soon as they 56:04 accept the truth, they immediately 56:06 embrace it and convey it. Wa 56:10 yu'allimuhumul kitaba wal hikmah. So 56:13 that they have guidelines, standards, 56:15 and a value system. God teaches them 56:17 the Book and the wisdom. Some people 56:20 assume that al-hikmah here refers to 56:22 hadith. Who said that? There is no 56:24 mention pointing in that direction. 56:25 Al-hikmah, as God mentions in the Quran 56:28 , is various forms of guidance, 56:30 direction, and instruction that come 56:32 from God, which are full of wisdom. 56:35 Dhalika mimma awha ilayka rabbuka minal 56:37 hikmah. That is part of the wisdom 56:39 revealed to you, O Messenger of Allah. 56:42 That recounts God's previous messages 56:44 in Surah Al-Isra, which provides 56:45 direction to the Messenger. 56:49 So what is it? God teaches you the Book 56:52 alongside the wisdoms contained within 56:55 it. Wa in kanu min qablu lafi dalalin 56:59 mubin. Even though before, it was not 57:01 long ago. 57:03 Meaning the era of reform was not far 57:05 from the era of straying. Previously, 57:07 it had not been long that they were in 57:09 clear error. Meaning in 13 years, plus 57:11 10 years in Medina, totaling 23 years, 57:13 an extraordinary change occurred in the 57:16 Arab nation. Why? Because of the 57:18 provision of enlightenment provided by 57:20 the Messenger through the Quran. Then 57:22 cleansing their souls—it was not just 57:24 knowledge limited to the mouth and 57:26 memorization, but cleansing their souls 57:28 . After that, giving them guidelines 57:31 that become a foundation, making them 57:33 people who are full of wisdom in this 57:35 life. Wa yu'allimuhumul kitaba wal 57:40 hikmah wa in kanu min qablu lafi 57:41 dalalin mubin. Now, let us see, are we 57:45 doing it, are we not following what... 57:50 ordained by Allah to us and explained 57:53 by the Messenger. So, one can prove 57:58 that those who study Ulumul Quran we 58:03 find that they are still revolving 58:06 around opinions that have yet to be 58:09 proven true, many even causing doubts 58:13 about the truth of the Quran because 58:16 why? They play within the realm of 58:18 narrations. 58:19 Yes. 58:20 Instead of researching the truth of the 58:22 Quran directly. Eventually, they say 58:25 that the Quran was not compiled during 58:27 the Prophet's time, only collected 58:28 during the companions 'era, to the 58:30 point where some Quranic verses went 58:32 missing. Others say there are parts of 58:35 the Quran not recorded in the Quran, 58:36 like the verse of stoning. Some say the 58:40 end of Surah At-Tawbah is not part of 58:42 the Quran or was found later after 58:44 initially disappearing. Some say the 58:47 verses of At-Tawbah were originally 58:49 over 200, but now only 129 remain. Many 58:52 narrations like these are all lies. 58:56 Because why? They were collected later 58:58 and narrated later. Whereas the Quran 59:00 was written during the time of our 59:01 Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. If 59:03 it were written long after that, there 59:05 would surely be contradictions and 59:07 differences. And Allah promised," 59:08 Indeed, it is We who sent down the 59:10 message and indeed, We will be its 59:11 guardian. "" Indeed, it is upon Us to 59:13 collect it and to recite it. "It is We 59:15 who will collect the Quran. It is also 59:18 We who will recite it to you. Then it 59:21 is also We who will explain the Quran." 59:23 Then upon Us is its clarification. "So, 59:24 if a person learns in front of the 59:26 Quran, asking for guidance from Allah 59:28 Subhanahu wa ta'ala, when they 59:30 encounter something they don't know, 59:32 they should ask experts. God willing, 59:35 if the Quran is grounded and socialized 59:38 , replacing the contradictions and 59:41 differing narrations, the Ummah will 59:43 truly become one united community. Yes. 59:49 So we see the stagnation that has 59:51 occurred in research surrounding the 59:54 Quran, its sciences, and so on, has 59:56 actually distanced us from the Quran. 1:00:00 Even though we should be interacting 1:00:01 with the Quran. Scholars who have the 1:00:04 ability to study Arabic, also study 1:00:06 rhetoric, it is important to learn 1:00:08 rhetoric to understand the style of the 1:00:10 Quran. Learning its grammar, the syntax 1:00:14 and morphology. Then also reading the 1:00:18 works of scholars, works that explain 1:00:21 issues related to its legal verses. But 1:00:24 do not get stuck there. Prioritize the 1:00:27 Quran over what? These scholars' 1:00:29 opinions. See what fits and is 1:00:30 consistent, then follow it; what 1:00:32 doesn't, discard it. Therefore, I can 1:00:36 conclude that most research by Islamic 1:00:40 scholars regarding the Quran is limited 1:00:44 only to legal verses. As for the verses 1:00:50 on the universe and historical laws, 1:00:52 which would help us face the challenges 1:00:55 of the times. And also the Quran's 1:00:58 encouragement to research, study, and 1:00:59 become intelligent, wise people. Do not 1:01:02 just accept things blindly and become 1:01:04 confused. That is not interpreted at 1:01:06 all. Therefore, the focus of our 1:01:10 scholars is mostly on legal verses 1:01:12 which return to what? Return to rules 1:01:17 that generate conflicting opinions 1:01:19 because they are returned and referred 1:01:22 to what? Controlled by human narrations 1:01:25 and opinions. And uniquely, most of 1:01:31 their attention toward legal verses is 1:01:34 centered on what? On things that return 1:01:37 to rituals. H 1:01:40 Why is that? Matters related to 1:01:42 governance and the economy have very 1:01:44 little discussion. Because Islamic 1:01:47 scholars don't have what? They don't 1:01:49 have the field. Because the economic 1:01:51 field, the political field, and so on 1:01:52 are controlled by those outside of 1:01:54 Islam. 1:01:55 Because their time is spent entirely on 1:01:57 rituals. Now, if they only master 1:02:00 things that are ritualistic, things 1:02:02 that return to acts of worship like 1:02:04 this, how can they face the challenges 1:02:06 of the age? Try returning to the Qur'an 1:02:09 . It turns out that legal verses in the 1:02:11 Qur'an are no more than 5%. H 1:02:15 Legal verses in the Qur'an are very few 1:02:18 . But why is our focus on the legal 1:02:26 verses? The verses that explain, the 1:02:28 verses that invite us to reflect until 1:02:30 we see the greatness and majesty of 1:02:32 Allah. Natural laws that are full of 1:02:34 balance and harmony, the laws of 1:02:35 history regarding the rise and fall of 1:02:37 nations. Yes, what is the reason they 1:02:39 advance? What is the reason they 1:02:41 regress? We must study this, even if 1:02:43 those outside of Islam are the ones 1:02:44 studying it. 1:02:48 Likewise regarding good characters that 1:02:52 will truly build human beings. Then bad 1:02:56 characters related to the human psyche. 1:02:59 Why not return to the Qur'an to reflect 1:03:01 on them? There are examples of good, 1:03:04 noble, and successful souls, examples 1:03:07 of bad souls that lead to destruction, 1:03:09 then the ideal civilized society that 1:03:11 the Qur'an intends. Not as desired by 1:03:15 Western civilization, which is far from 1:03:17 the guidance of Allah Subhanahu wa 1:03:19 ta'ala and does not pay attention to 1:03:21 the spiritual condition and human soul. 1:03:25 At most, it only returns to physical 1:03:27 and material welfare. Luxurious houses, 1:03:29 luxurious vehicles. Isn't that right? 1:03:31 Yes. 1:03:32 That is what captures their attention. 1:03:33 As for right, wrong, good, bad, whether 1:03:35 one is doomed or happy in the hereafter 1:03:37 , that is not their concern. But the 1:03:39 Qur'an invites humans to be safe in the 1:03:42 world and the hereafter, happy in the 1:03:44 world, happy in the hereafter. Not for 1:03:47 us to wallow in luxury while our souls 1:03:48 are filled with torment and the 1:03:50 suffering of others. Now, this is an 1:03:54 opening for our study, God willing, 1:03:55 regarding Islam or the Qur'an and the 1:03:57 challenges of the age. It is not that 1:04:00 the Qur'an is unable to answer the 1:04:02 challenges of the age, but that Islamic 1:04:04 scholars have abandoned the Qur'an. 1:04:07 They are distracted by narrations, 1:04:10 distracted by jurisprudence opinions 1:04:12 that consume their time. Whereas what 1:04:15 they are disputing actually only covers 1:04:18 what? 1:04:20 It only covers a small portion of the 1:04:22 verses of the Qur'an. If a person only 1:04:25 focuses on jurisprudence, the heart 1:04:26 becomes hard. 1:04:27 H 1:04:27 Hard. H. 1:04:29 But if one follows the Qur'an, reading 1:04:30 the verses of Allah, reflecting on them 1:04:32 , then purifying their souls. After 1:04:34 that, what? They have a guide from the 1:04:38 Book that leads them, guides them as it 1:04:41 brought the Arab nation out of 1:04:43 ignorance toward a bright life. It was 1:04:46 not books of hadith, not books of 1:04:48 jurisprudence that brought them out, 1:04:49 but the Qur'an with its Messenger, 1:04:51 Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam. 1:04:53 Meanwhile, to sort and choose what is 1:04:55 truly from the Messenger, do not just 1:04:57 fixate on the chain of transmission. 1:04:59 Let us not sanctify the individuals who 1:05:01 narrated these hadiths, but rather 1:05:03 verify the content of the hadith 1:05:05 against the Quran. If it fits, we 1:05:07 accept it; if it does not, we discard 1:05:08 it. Because we possess undeniable proof 1:05:13 . Possessing light, guidance, and the 1:05:15 Book of Allah is better than everything 1:05:17 they have gathered. Hopefully, this 1:05:20 will bring enlightenment to us, and 1:05:22 hopefully, listeners will not be swayed 1:05:24 by fanaticism toward groups, factions, 1:05:26 or schools of thought. I am someone who 1:05:28 loves the imams. The Malikis, Shafi'is, 1:05:32 Hanbalis, Hanafis, and Jafaris. But I 1:05:35 do not sanctify them. I do not place 1:05:39 them above the messenger, and I do not 1:05:42 place their books above the Quran. No. 1:05:45 The Quran is above everything. The 1:05:47 messenger who conveyed the message of 1:05:50 Allah performed his duty. Thus, the 1:05:52 duty of scholars is also to convey the 1:05:54 message of Allah brought by our prophet 1:05:56 . Not to divert people from it or mix 1:06:00 the truth with falsehood as the Jews 1:06:03 did. Do not mix the truth with 1:06:06 falsehood and conceal the truth while 1:06:08 you know it. O Jews, do not mix the 1:06:11 truth with falsehood. You conceal the 1:06:15 truth even though you know; this is 1:06:16 what is happening right now. Hopefully, 1:06:20 this can, uh, Break through the crusts 1:06:24 that have covered our hearts all this 1:06:25 time. Cleanse them, and invite us to 1:06:28 return completely to answering the call 1:06:30 of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. O you who 1:06:32 have believed, respond to Allah and the 1:06:34 Messenger when he calls you to that 1:06:36 which gives you life, and know that 1:06:38 Allah intervenes between a man and his 1:06:40 heart. Thus, brothers and sisters, 1:06:44 Ustaz Otong, who is blessed by Allah, 1:06:45 Ustaz Muhammad Krishna, and the entire 1:06:47 Rasil family. May the light of Rasil in 1:06:51 conveying the Quran be guarded and 1:06:52 preserved by Allah until the end of our 1:06:55 lives, and may it continue until the 1:06:57 final day to convey the mandate of 1:06:59 Allah. Not for worldly purposes, power, 1:07:03 or building groups and factions, or for 1:07:06 fanaticism. Rasil invites people to 1:07:09 truly hold firmly to the rope of Allah 1:07:12 and fully commit their loyalty to Allah 1:07:14 , to His messenger, and to those who 1:07:17 believe, not to groups, factions, or 1:07:20 individuals. Exalted are You, O Allah, 1:07:22 and by Your praise, I bear witness that 1:07:23 there is no god but You, I seek Your 1:07:25 forgiveness and repent to You. Peace be 1:07:26 upon you all. Peace be upon you, and 1:07:28 the mercy of Allah and His blessings. 1:07:29 Peace be upon you, and the mercy of 1:07:30 Allah and His blessings.
