And We will surely test 2:32 you with something of fear and hunger 2:34 and a loss of wealth and lives and 2:36 fruits, but give good tidings to the 2:38 patient. We pray 4:00 and strive so that we may enter that 4:03 new life in a good state, in a state of 4:07 obedience to Allah, and in a state of 4:10 joy in welcoming our return to Allah, 4:14 or in other words, a good ending ( 4:17 husnul khatimah). Let us always convey 4:22 and pour out peace and blessings upon 4:25 our leader, the Prophet Muhammad, peace 4:28 and blessings be upon him. May we also be among those 4:41 who will later have the mark recognized 4:45 by him, peace be upon him, and then 4:48 together with him, peace be upon him, 4:52 join the group he leads in entering the 4:55 paradise of Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. 5:01 Maasiral muslimin wal muslimat 5:02 rahimakumullah. Ladies and gentlemen, 5:04 the congregation, listeners of 5:06 Silaturahim radio, and viewers of Rasil 5:08 TV. On this evening, God willing, we 5:13 will discuss and reflect upon verses of 5:16 the Qur'an, more precisely in the 5:19 second surah that I read earlier at the 5:22 beginning. Surah Al-Baqarah verse 155 5:29 up to 157 concerning Allah's gift 5:35 behind a disaster. Yes, of course, this 5:41 gift will apply and exist if we can 5:45 truly manage our response to the 5:49 disaster. So, managing that response is 5:54 what will determine whether or not we 5:58 receive the reward from the disaster 6:01 that Allah is testing us with. I ask 6:07 for permission to share it on the 6:09 screen. Perhaps for Rasil TV viewers or 6:13 those watching from, uh, YouTube, it 6:16 can be seen. Now, hopefully, it can be 6:21 watched without any obstacles. The gift 6:25 behind a disaster. So, uh, there is a 6:29 gift. Well, it would be a loss if we 6:32 did not take that gift behind the 6:34 disaster. First, let us explain briefly 6:40 what a disaster is. To be clear, in the 6:48 Qur'an, the word 'musibah'(disaster) is 6:51 mentioned 10 times. Yes, on the screen, 6:56 I show the 10 mentions of the word ' 6:59 musibah'. And from those 10 times, it 7:04 is divided into five categories. Uh, 7:08 the disaster, yes. Five categories. 7:12 What are they? Just briefly. The first, 7:16 defeat in war. Ah, this is also 7:20 referred to as a disaster, yes. The 7:22 Qur'an calls it a disaster. So, when we 7:25 experience a defeat in a war, that 7:29 means it is a disaster that is 7:32 happening to, uh, what? To us, ladies 7:36 and gentlemen. For example, in, uh, 7:40 what? Surah Ali Imran, for example, the 7:49 3rd surah, verse 165. Now, please, if 7:58 you, ladies and gentlemen, or brothers 8:01 and sisters, can open and follow it in 8:03 your Qur'an or respective mushafs, that 8:06 is the sentence. Let us try to read the 8:10 example so it is clear. 165 the 8:15 sentence. Auzubillahiminasyaitanirrajim 8:19 . Awalamma asobatkum musibatun. ' 8:23 Musibah', that sentence is mentioned 8:25 there, 'awal asobatum musibatun qultum' 8:27 . 'asabtum mithlayha'. When you, uh, 8:34 suffered a defeat in war, then, uh, 8:38 what is it, 'qultum', you said, even 8:46 though you had previously inflicted the 8:49 same defeat in war upon your enemies. 8:53 But why, when you suffered the defeat, 8:55 did you say, 'qultum anna hadza', how 8:58 could this happen to us? Something like 9:01 that. That is 'qul huwa min' ind 9:03 anfusikum ', says Allah, it happened 9:05 because of your own selves. Innallaha' 9:07 ala kulli shay'in qadir. Indeed, Allah 9:09 is All-Powerful over all things. This 9:12 refers to the defeat in the Battle of 9:15 Uhud. So, the defeat in the Battle of 9:18 Uhud happened because of the Muslims ' 9:20 own mistakes. Yes, as we know from the 9:23 story later in Surah Ali Imran, it 9:25 happened when they disobeyed the 9:27 Prophet's orders, peace be upon him. 9:29 But that defeat in war is referred to 9:31 as a "musibah," or calamity. A calamity 9:34 . And it occurred because of themselves 9:38 , or because of those individuals. So, 9:42 a defeat in war. Secondly, death is 9:46 also referred to as a calamity, ladies 9:50 and gentlemen. Yes, we can find this, 9:54 for instance, in Surah Al-Ma'idah. 9:58 Please go ahead. For those who want to 10:02 open their Mushaf or their gadgets, we 10:06 can see how Allah describes death as a 10:11 calamity. Quran, Surah Al-Ma'idah, 10:14 verse 106. Yes, please open it on your 10:21 respective gadgets or your Mushafs to 10:23 see the wording. 10:26 Auzubillahiminasyaitanirrajim, yes. " 10:42 Musibatul maut." The phrase is " 10:44 musibatul maut." So, it is Allah's 10:50 command to bear witness to a will or 10:55 something left behind by someone who is 11:01 about to face death. So the phrase is " 11:06 musibatul maut.""Fa-asabakum musibatul 11:08 maut." When you are struck by a 11:11 calamity, which is death. So, death is 11:14 also referred to as a calamity. Surah 11:17 Al-Ma'idah, verse 106. The third one is 11:22 when someone is struck by a punishment, 11:26 ladies and gentlemen. Which usually 11:31 happens because they refuse to obey. 11:35 Refuse to obey Allah Subhanahu wa 11:37 ta'ala. For example, this third 11:41 category of calamity happens to an 11:45 individual or a group of people, a 11:48 punishment given, a down payment, if 11:51 you will. What is a down payment? A 11:55 deposit, perhaps. Not the full amount, 11:58 but they are given a down payment of 12:00 punishment in this world because humans 12:02 refuse to obey Allah Subhanahu wa 12:04 ta'ala. Now, that is also a type or 12:07 category of calamity. For instance, we 12:10 can open Surah An-Nisa, the 4th Surah, 12:12 verse 62. The verse is right there; 12:17 please open Surah An-Nisa, the 4th 12:20 Surah, verse 62. Please. Yes. Let us 12:31 observe Allah's words there, how He 12:33 mentions it as a calamity. "Fakaifa 12:37 idza asabathum musibatum bima qaddamat 12:39 aidihim tsumma jauka yahlifuna billahi 12:42 in aradna illa ihsanan wa taufiqa."" 12:46 Ya'lamullahu ma fi qulubihim."" 12:50 Fa-a'ridh' anhum" in the continuation 12:52 of the verse, in the continuation at 12:54 verse 63. But in verse 62 earlier, 12:58 Allah says: "How then, if a calamity 13:02 strikes them" because of what their own 13:06 hands have sent forth, meaning their 13:10 own deeds. Now, these are the 13:13 hypocrites. If we open from verse 60, 13:16 it talks about the hypocrites. "Alam 13:18 tara ilalladzina yaz'umuna annahum 13:20 amanu bima unzila ilaika wa ma unzila 13:22 min qablika...""...yuriduna 13:26 ay-yathahakamu ilath-thagut wa qad 13:27 umiru ay-yakfuru bihi...""...wa 13:30 yuridush-shaytanu ay-yudhillahum 13:31 dalalam ba'ida," and so on. So, ladies 13:33 and gentlemen, may Allah have mercy on 13:37 you, in this case, there are people who 13:42 , well, let's say, behave in such a way 13:46 that their own behavior brings disaster 13:50 upon them. So, there is a type of 13:53 disaster like that. Excuse me for a 13:55 moment, I need to ask Kang Fari for 13:57 permission to turn on the light for a 13:58 second. Just for the electricity for a 14:00 moment. In this Tadabur Al-Qur'an 14:06 program with Ustaz Doni Amir Sagaf. We 14:09 are live on the Zoom app, brothers and 14:12 sisters, discussing the gift behind 14:15 disasters. We will continue to follow 14:18 along, and for those who want to ask 14:21 questions or participate, you can send 14:24 them via our WhatsApp at 0811999720. 14:32 Alright, sorry for the brief 14:33 interruption. 14:35 Let's continue this. 14:36 Ustaz. 14:37 Yes. So we already reached the third 14:40 point, the punishment that Allah gives 14:42 in this world, or if we can call it a 14:44 down payment. A down payment is a 14:48 deposit for punishment in this world 14:50 due to a person's own deeds, which is 14:53 also called a type of disaster. Now, 14:58 that type of disaster happens because 15:00 of a punishment, I mean, because of a 15:03 mistake. Now, there is another type of 15:07 disaster that affects the majority of 15:10 humans. If earlier the person who did 15:15 wrong was the one affected, but now, 15:18 there are people who do wrong or cause 15:21 corruption, yet the disaster affects 15:24 everyone around them, the entire 15:27 population, I mean. We will find this 15:33 in Surah Ash-Shura, surah number 42, 15:36 verse 30. Let's open Surah Ash-Shura. 15:43 Surah Ash-Shura is the 42nd surah, 15:45 verse 30. Please, for those at home, 15:49 ladies and gentlemen, brothers and 15:51 sisters, feel free to open the word of 15:53 Allah. Auzubillahiminasyaitanirrajim. 15:55 Wa ma asobakum mim musibatin fabima 16:00 kasabat aidikum wa ya'fu 'an kasir. 16:05 Allah says, "Whatever disaster strikes 16:08 you, it is because of what your hands 16:14 have earned, oh mankind." And Allah 16:19 says He even forgives many of your 16:23 mistakes. So, disasters indeed have 16:28 categories like that. It doesn't mean 16:32 we want to accuse someone of doing 16:34 wrong, but it is for our own 16:36 self-introspection. These are the five 16:41 categories of disasters. We have 16:44 already reached number four, the fourth 16:47 type. Now, for the fifth type, a test. 16:52 A disaster that is meant as a test. 16:55 Another name for it is' bala '.' Bala ' 16:58 actually, ladies and gentlemen, in 17:00 Arabic and in the language of the 17:03 Qur'an, means a test, and it is neutral 17:05 . In Indonesian, it becomes' bala '( 17:08 catastrophe), like in the phrase' tolak 17:10 bala '(warding off catastrophe), for 17:12 instance.' Bala 'is seen as something 17:15 unpleasant. Even though it is neutral, 17:18 it is a test. And tests help us level 17:23 up. For example, let's open the Qur'an, 17:26 surah number 2, Al-Baqarah, verse 124. 17:29 Let's say, surah Al-Baqarah verse 125. 17:33 To know that it is a test. The form of 17:37 that test. It is not something negative 17:41 , but something that is actually 17:44 neutral, ladies and gentlemen. Let's 17:49 try surah 2, Al-Baqarah verse 125. Has 17:54 everyone opened the verse? Auzubillahi 17:56 minash-shaytanir-rajim. Oh, forgive me, 17:59 I made a mistake. Sorry, wrong verse. 18:01 124, the one above it. Above it is 124, 18:04 125 is about cleaning the Kaaba as 18:08 commanded to Prophet Ibrahim and 18:11 Prophet Ismail. 124 is the one, 124, 18:16 the one above, the text is Al-Baqarah 18:19 124, waibtala...waibtala. Ibrahima 18:25 rabbuhu bikalimatin. And remember when 18:39 ...waibtala...ibtala is taken from the 18:43 word bala. And remember when We tested, 18:50 waibtala Ibrahima rabbuhu bikalimatin, 18:53 with certain words. Then he succeeded 18:58 in completing the test. Now, because he 19:02 succeeded in completing the test, qala 19:04 inni ja'iluka linnasi imama. By Allah, 19:09 Prophet Ibrahim's rank was raised, his 19:11 position became an imam for all mankind 19:14 . So, bala is actually a test given to 19:18 humans that is neutral. Like that. It's 19:22 the same type of test, whether in the 19:27 form of ease or in the form of 19:31 difficulty. Hardship, tightness, and so 19:35 on. Those are both tests. Likewise, if 19:39 we open surah 90, for example, surah 19:42 Al-Fajr verses 15 and 16. Surah Al-Fajr 19:48 , surah 90, verses 15 and 16. The words 19:53 of Allah there, ladies and gentlemen, 19:55 please feel free to open it first so 19:57 that if you want to take notes or 19:58 anything, go ahead. Surah 90, surah 20:01 Al-Fajr. Oh, sorry, surah 89, not 90, 20:04 my mistake. Surah 89, surah Al-Fajr, 20:08 verses 15 and 16. If 90, that is surah 20:12 Al-Balad, so surah 89. Ah, the words of 20:16 Allah, Auzubillahi 20:17 minash-shaytanir-rajim, 15. Fa 20:19 ammal-insanu mabtalahu rabbuhu. Now, 20:24 mabtala is taken from the word ma 20:26 ibtala. Fa ammal-insanu idtalahu fa 20:30 akramahu wa na'amahu fa yaqulu rabbi 20:33 akraman. Humans, Allah says, mabtalahu 20:38 when he is given a test by his Lord, 20:43 taken from the word bala, ma ibtala 20:47 rabbuhu, a test in the form of honor 20:51 and enjoyment given to him. So if given 20:56 that kind of test, a human will say, " 20:58 Rabbi akraman.""My Lord has honored me. 21:03 " They are happy to be given such a 21:06 test, happy, even though it is also a 21:08 test. Then in verse 16, wa amma, 21:11 meanwhile, mabtalahu faqadara' alaihi 21:15 rizqahu fa yaqulu rabbi ahanan. If a 21:20 human is given a test, mabtala, ma 21:22 ibtala, taken from the word bala, given 21:25 a test in the form of qadara 'alaihi 21:28 rizqahu, his sustenance is narrowed or 21:31 becomes limited. Yes. Then he says, " 21:35 Fayaqulu rabbi ahanan." He says, "My 21:39 Lord has humiliated me," or "forgotten 21:43 me," something like that. Even though 21:47 both are bala, both are tests that, if 21:50 successfully passed, there will be a 21:53 reward from Allah. But if not 21:56 successfully passed, then of course it 21:58 will be bad. Well, like that. Both are 22:03 tests, bala. Now, what we are 22:05 discussing on this evening occasion, 22:08 Western Indonesian Time, is test type 22:10 number 5. Uh, sorry, calamity type 22:13 number five. I mean calamity type 22:15 number five. Which is a calamity in the 22:18 form of a test. If the calamity is a 22:22 disaster, for example, then we must 22:25 introspect. If the calamity is a death, 22:29 for those still living, take a lesson. 22:34 If the calamity is defeat in war, it 22:36 means we also introspect, as there was 22:39 a mistake, which was because of our own 22:41 faults. Introspection. Now, the fifth 22:47 type of calamity is what we will 22:50 discuss because it is a test. It is 22:55 neutral, or what the Quran calls "bala. 22:58 " Bala is actually neutral. So, 23:02 actually, the term "warding off bala" 23:04 is a bit technically inaccurate in 23:07 Arabic. But in Indonesian, it certainly 23:10 carries a negative meaning. So, this 23:14 type of calamity—the test or "bala" 23:17 —is in Surah Al-Baqarah verses 155, 23:21 156, and 157. This is what will grant 23:25 us a reward if we successfully pass 23:27 through it, ladies and gentlemen. Allah 23:31 has prepared that reward for us later. 23:35 So, what does the verse say? Let's 23:37 slowly begin to dive into it. This type 23:42 of calamity—this test-based calamity 23:44 —will definitely be given to humans. 23:48 It will certainly be given. Now, death 23:51 is also certain, but with death, one 23:55 cannot return to life. However, this 24:00 test-based calamity is definitely given 24:03 to humans while we are still alive. So, 24:08 where do we know this from? If we open 24:11 the verse slowly, I will display Surah 24:14 Al-Baqarah verse 155 on the screen. 24:17 Allah's statement is like this. "Wa 24:20 lanabluwannakum," there is a' lam 24:22 taukid 'there: "lanabluwannakum." And 24:27 surely, truly, definitely " 24:30 lanabluwannakum." We notice it is taken 24:33 from the word "bala," as mentioned 24:35 earlier, "lanabluwannakum" is derived 24:37 from "bala." We will test you. Yes, 24:41 test you. A test, a calamity; later 24:44 Allah calls this a calamity, but of the 24:46 type that is a test. That is why it was 24:49 important for us to explain the five 24:51 categories, the five types of calamity 24:54 first. "Wa lanabluwannakum bisyai'in 24:58 minal khauf," truly We will test you 25:00 with a little bit of fear. Why is it 25:05 called "a little bit"? Because this is 25:09 nothing compared to any kind of fear in 25:11 this world; it has no comparison to the 25:14 fear that will occur on the Day of 25:16 Judgment. If we open several chapters 25:22 that explain the panic on the Day of 25:25 Judgment. It is extraordinary. For 25:28 example, Surah Al-Hajj, the 22nd 25:31 chapter, verses one, two, and three, we 25:34 will see it is extraordinary, people 25:36 looking like they are drunk, "sukaro 25:39 wama hum bisukaro." Even though they 25:42 are not drunk. Then, pregnant women 25:46 will miscarry, and people holding their 25:50 children will let them go to seek 25:53 protection for themselves. For 25:57 themselves alone. So, the fear that 25:58 exists in this world is nothing yet. It 26:00 is nothing yet. But Allah says, "I will 26:03 test you. We will test you with a 26:05 little bit of fear." Uh, what? "Wa 26:10 lanabluwannakum bisyai-im minal khauf." 26:13 Then what is the second one? "Wal ju'." 26:16 Now, so there are several of them, 26:18 right. Let me, let me underline this. 26:20 There are five. One is*khauf*, fear. 26:23 The second is*ju '*, hunger. Hunger. 26:27 Ladies and gentlemen, brothers and 26:30 sisters, of course, what is meant is 26:33 not just physical hunger, not just 26:36 hunger because you haven't eaten rice, 26:39 not just because you lack food intake, 26:42 but there is a blind hunger, namely 26:45 psychological hunger. Now, we are 26:49 witnessing this incredible test like 26:52 this. Everyone now wants an iPhone, 26:56 which costs tens of millions, that they 26:59 cannot afford to buy. But they go into 27:04 debt just to buy it. Finally, *pinjol* 27:07 or online loans. Yes, there are also 27:09 those who gamble online. Now, the value 27:12 is said to be, until now, those online 27:15 loans—the latest data per month. Uh, 27:18 October, uh, as of October, yes, early 27:21 October, 60 trillion in online loans, 27:24 ladies and gentlemen, and on average, 27:27 everyone is in arrears and does not 27:29 want to pay, doesn't want to pay it 27:32 back. Now, it turns out one of them, 27:36 one of the biggest reasons for those 27:38 online loans, is to buy gadgets or 27:41 cellphones. Because the price of those 27:45 specific new phones is tens of millions 27:47 . That is also a form of hunger. A 27:51 psychological hunger, yes. Fitting in, 27:55 it's called fear of missing out. Afraid 27:59 of not fitting in, if you don't belong 28:02 in, uh, your environment. Uh, afraid of 28:06 not being the same as other people. 28:09 Other people use iPhones, for example, 28:11 right. But they feel they don't have 28:14 one, so they feel inferior, and finally 28:16 , they force it, ladies and gentlemen. 28:19 Now, it is the same with other things. 28:20 But this, uh, gadget phenomenon is 28:22 truly extraordinary, isn't it? Tens of 28:26 millions, yes, going into debt, finally 28:28 borrowing from here and there, uh, 28:31 finally getting trapped in online loans 28:34 , unable to pay, and the, uh, negative 28:36 impacts are truly immense. So the 28:41 hunger is not physical; what is 28:42 dangerous is actually the psychological 28:44 hunger. The third, "wa naqshim minal 28:49 amwal." Uh, a lack of wealth. "Naqshim 28:53 minal amwal." A lack of wealth, ladies 28:55 and gentlemen. Now, of course, the 28:58 wealth meant here is not, once again, 29:02 only wealth that is, uh, physical or 29:06 material in nature, losing wealth and 29:09 so on, but also the ability to, uh, 29:13 possess wealth. Now we are witnessing, 29:17 *masyaallah*, an extraordinary, in the 29:19 last few months, unemployment rates 29:21 have actually increased. The inability 29:24 to find and access job opportunities 29:29 for what? Just providing for food is 29:33 hard, let alone being able to then 29:36 accumulate, uh, forms of wealth. Indeed 29:40 , wealth is a, what do you call it? A, 29:44 uh, life facility and can become a form 29:49 of*jariah*charity, a righteous deed. So 29:53 , it is not that you are not allowed to 29:55 have wealth. So, we see that the lack 29:59 of wealth is not just about the 30:01 material or physical assets, but also 30:04 about the loss of many capabilities. 30:08 Now, Allah says that this is also a 30:11 form of test. Wal anfus. And likewise, 30:17 naqsi minal anfus or the lack or 30:20 reduction of what? Soul. The soul is a 30:26 kind of what? Self-worth. Now, in 30:31 English, it is the feeling of...What is 30:35 it called? Seeing oneself as something 30:39 that is a blessing. Now, that is 30:43 diminishing, and we see many people 30:46 today who feel inferior or have low 30:49 self-esteem. Masyaallah. Ladies and 30:53 gentlemen, may Allah bless you all. 30:55 Many children nowadays, for example, if 30:57 we take a look at them, they...Feel 31:02 that they are not pretty enough, or 31:04 want their skin to be whiter. Whereas 31:07 we are Indonesians, and our skin is 31:10 naturally not white. It's fundamentally 31:12 impossible for it to be white. Indeed, 31:15 that is what Allah has given us. There 31:18 is also a lot of data showing that, 31:21 what is the term? Skincare. The 31:28 best-selling skincare in Indonesia is 31:31 whitening products. So almost everyone 31:35 wants to be white. Even though 31:38 Indonesian people are not naturally 31:39 white, ladies and gentlemen. Especially 31:42 the young girls, there is no need to 31:44 become someone who is not ourselves. 31:48 And finally, because they feel they 31:50 aren't white, they feel inferior. Ah, 31:54 that is the lack of anfus, the soul is 31:57 diminished. Not confident. Although of 32:03 course, one must be clean, one must 32:05 take care of themselves properly, but 32:06 there is no need to change oneself, no 32:08 need to change what Allah has already 32:10 given us. That is it. If our skin color 32:15 is destined by Allah not to be white, 32:16 then it does not need to be white. It 32:19 means that is what is best, right? So, 32:22 this is a remarkable phenomenon. If we 32:25 reflect on it, this is actually 32:27 dangerous. The best-selling skincare is 32:32 whitening. Yes, likewise with 32:34 anti-aging. Oh my, this anti-aging 32:38 trend is incredible. They do not want 32:40 to look their age, so they use 32:42 anti-aging products. Just let it be. 32:45 That also causes low self-esteem, 32:46 ladies and gentlemen. Especially, 32:48 forgive me, especially among Muslim 32:51 women or mothers. So, please take care 32:54 of yourselves well and stay clean, but 32:56 there is no need to worry about what 32:58 Allah has bestowed upon us. If it is 33:02 indeed time to age, for wrinkles and so 33:06 on to appear, that is the journey of 33:10 life so that we realize that our life 33:14 will return to Allah. So...This lack of 33:20 anfus means that mentally, our souls 33:22 become inferior or we suffer from low 33:25 self-esteem. Well, that is also part of 33:29 the test that Allah gives us. Disasters 33:32 that are in the form of tests. The 33:35 fifth, oh sorry, the sixth, right. But 33:38 earlier, amwal and anfus were grouped 33:41 as one. So, fear, then hunger, part of 33:46 wealth and souls. Well, those were the 33:50 two earlier. So, the loss of souls and 33:54 wealth, right. Four. Now, the fifth, 33:58 watsamarat. The shortage of fruits. Of 34:03 course, what is meant is not just 34:06 fruits from trees. It doesn't mean a 34:11 shortage of watermelons, oranges, or 34:12 avocados, that's not it. But what is 34:16 meant is the shortage of results, 34:18 ladies and gentlemen. Tamarat is a 34:23 metaphor for a result. If we plant a 34:29 tree, we expect the result to be from 34:31 the tree we planted. A mango tree, for 34:34 example, the result is that it bears 34:36 mangoes. We plant an avocado tree, the 34:40 result is that it bears avocados. So, 34:43 fruit is a symbol for a result. This 34:47 will also happen in our lives; for 34:49 instance, we have built a company from 34:52 scratch, since we were young we managed 34:55 it, and we really took care of this 34:57 business. Suddenly, in the future, when 35:02 we hope to just enjoy the results in 35:05 our old age, like the fruit mentioned, 35:07 it turns out the results are gone, 35:10 perhaps because something happened, we 35:12 were cheated, or the whole business 35:15 failed and collapsed. The results we 35:19 dreamed of and imagined from the 35:22 beginning are suddenly gone. This is 35:25 also a form of disaster. A test. An 35:29 exam of fruits, it is called. Fruits 35:33 are a metaphor for the produce of the 35:36 trees we plant. So, there are five, let 35:40 me repeat. Khauf, a little bit of fear. 35:44 Walju, hunger, be it physical hunger or 35:46 , more commonly, psychological. We see 35:51 people buying this and that, we can't 35:52 afford it, and hunger arises there. The 35:55 next one is a loss of wealth. Of course 35:58 , it's not just physical wealth. And 36:01 the fourth, the loss of soul or 36:03 feelings of inferiority, lack of 36:05 confidence, and so on. And the fifth is 36:08 the shortage of results or fruits. Just 36:12 as one might have imagined. Now, Allah 36:18 says regarding these five types of 36:20 disasters as tests, ladies and 36:22 gentlemen, Allah says, "wabasyirobirin. 36:24 " Give glad tidings to those who are 36:29 able to be patient in going through 36:31 them. So, it doesn't mean if someone is 36:36 being tested, we just say, "Be patient, 36:39 " that's not it. It's not just that, 36:44 but give glad tidings. To those who 36:47 succeed in going through all five of 36:49 those while remaining patient. Now, 36:53 let's explore it. Oh, it means there is 36:56 good news that Allah has prepared if 36:59 you, we, or I succeed in responding to 37:02 these five types of tests, these five 37:04 types of disasters, with patience. 37:08 There is good news in that. There is a 37:11 reward, a result, a prize. Exactly. 37:15 What is the prize? Later before we open 37:17 , let's continue with verse 156 first. 37:20 Who are these patient people? The ones 37:23 Allah spoke of with that reward, with 37:25 that good news; give them that good 37:27 news. Who are they? "Alladzi," meaning 37:31 those who, "idza asobathum musibah," 37:34 when they are struck by a calamity. Now 37:37 , what calamity? Back to verse 155 37:39 above. There were five types mentioned: 37:43 fear, hunger, then loss of wealth, 37:46 lives, and fruits. Those five: fear, 37:50 then hunger—both physical and 37:52 psychological—then loss of wealth, 37:55 whether material or psychological, loss 37:57 of self-confidence, loss of life, and 38:00 loss of productivity. If one can 38:04 respond with patience, "wabasyir," 38:06 convey the good news. The sign is being 38:09 struck by calamity. When that calamity 38:13 happens, "qolu," they immediately, 38:16 spontaneously let out what is in their 38:19 hearts, their response comes out 38:22 directly. This shows they are fully 38:27 conscious. What is it? "Inna lillah." 38:33 That we all, I, all humans, and all my 38:37 efforts, all these comparisons of fear, 38:41 worry, having food or not, and so on, 38:44 and all wealth, belongs to Allah, not 38:47 to me. Yes, "inna lillah," belongs to 38:54 Allah. Never mind my wealth, never mind 38:59 the results of my business, never mind 39:02 my fears or my hunger, both physical 39:05 and psychological; even I myself belong 39:08 to Allah. So the phrase is "inna lillah 39:13 ," we all belong to Allah. That is the 39:17 full awareness possessed by these 39:20 people. Now, the next phrase, "wa inna 39:24 ilaihi rojiun." Because we all, 39:30 everything we have, belongs to Allah, 39:33 then surely everything will return to 39:36 Allah, not to me, not to my desires, 39:40 not to my hopes, not to my wishes, but 39:43 will return to Allah. That's how it is, 39:49 ladies and gentlemen. So, from that 39:53 sentence, we can feel that those who 39:56 receive this reward, when calamity 39:58 strikes, Allah says to give them good 40:01 news because there is a reward for them 40:04 . They are people who are fully aware 40:08 that none of this is actually mine. So 40:11 there is no loss for me, right? There 40:14 is no loss at all. Oh, it’s not mine. 40:17 There is no loss. Like that. For 40:22 example, losing wealth, well, what is 40:25 the loss? Oh, none. It didn't belong to 40:27 me anyway. A business nurtured since it 40:30 was small, from the start through ups 40:32 and downs. Suddenly, at an advanced age 40:36 , the business collapses. For those who 40:41 are "wabasyirin," they know it didn't 40:43 belong to them, it didn't belong to 40:45 them. Yes, so I have suffered no loss. 40:50 After all, through that business, it 40:53 has already enabled my children to go 40:56 to school, my household has run for 40:59 decades, right? Once everything is 41:04 returned to Allah, and it is destined 41:06 to happen that way, so be it. Oh, it 41:10 wasn't mine to begin with, so I really 41:12 haven't lost anything, ladies and 41:13 gentlemen. Now, this is truly 41:16 extraordinary. To people like this, 41:19 Allah says to give them good news. 41:21 There is a reward for them. What is the 41:23 reward? We will reveal it later. But in 41:25 verse 157 Ladies and gentlemen, it 41:31 explains to us that the reward meant by 41:33 Allah earlier is stated like this in 41:36 157. What is the reward? "Ulaika 41:42 alaihim shalawatum mirrabbihim wa 41:45 rahmah." They are the people who truly 41:51 receive a form of appreciation—taking 41:54 the word' shalawat 'as appreciation—a 41:57 direct connection from Allah to them. 42:02 And Allah's mercy upon them. Now, this 42:06 is a form of reward that is, what shall 42:10 I call it? It is very high, coming 42:13 directly from Allah. "Ulaika alaihim 42:16 shalawatun mirrabbihim wa rahmah." So, 42:20 that is one. "Shalawat mirrabbihim wa 42:24 rahmah." Yes, they will not receive it 42:26 if they are not tested and succeed in 42:28 being patient. You won't get it if, 42:30 when tested, you keep getting upset, 42:32 for example. "Oh, my wealth.""Oh, why 42:35 at this age did I get cheated by 42:38 someone?""O Allah, where did it all go, 42:41 O Allah?" No, they won't get it. Why? 42:44 Because the condition earlier was " 42:46 alladzina idza ashabathum mushibah qalu 42:48 innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raji'un." 42:51 And not just saying' innalillah ', but 42:54 it truly comes from deep within their 42:56 consciousness. Only then do they 42:59 receive Allah's mercy and the 43:01 appreciation that comes directly from 43:03 Allah. Yes. The second reward is "wa 43:07 ulaika humul muhtadun." They are the 43:11 people who have truly received guidance 43:14 .' Muhtadun 'is taken from the word' 43:16 hada '. Guidance has truly, firmly 43:20 attached itself within them. Now, that 43:24 guidance has attached itself within 43:26 them, ladies and gentlemen. Now, it is 43:30 extraordinary if we look a little at 43:33 the physical side, the human side, the 43:37 human body. Earlier we looked at it 43:42 from the explanation of the Qur'an, 43:44 there is Allah's mercy for those who 43:46 succeed in being patient. "Innalillahi 43:49 wa inna ilaihi raji'un." Yes, they do 43:51 not feel they have lost anything. This 43:52 belongs to Allah. Everything returns to 43:54 Allah. Now let us look at it from the 43:55 physical side. They are the ones who 43:58 receive guidance. So it is like this, 44:00 gentlemen, ladies, my brothers and 44:02 sisters, viewers of Rasil TV and 44:04 listeners of Radio Silaturahim wherever 44:07 you are. Our bodies, gentlemen, ladies, 44:11 brothers and sisters, possess what is 44:14 called a stress response system within 44:17 us, yes. Our bodies respond to stress, 44:21 to tests, to the calamities that come 44:24 to us; our bodies respond to them. 44:29 There are two stress response systems, 44:32 the first one is within the endocrine 44:35 system or glands in our body called HPA 44:39 (hypothalamus, pituitary, and adrenal 44:42 glands). I'll be quick, no need to get 44:47 confused here, but there are two 44:49 systems, the HPA, in the hypothalamus, 44:52 pituitary, and adrenal glands, which 44:54 produce a hormone called cortisol. So, 44:59 the moment we get stressed, or a 45:01 disaster or test happens to us, stress 45:03 is natural. However, later if we 45:07 succeed and the mechanism of patience 45:09 kicks in, then we get the reward. The 45:14 second system that occurs in our body 45:18 when we face that test or disaster is 45:21 the nervous system. The nervous system 45:26 is our system of nerves. So, what 45:28 happens in our body is something called 45:30 the autonomic nervous system. So, 45:34 simply put, when we are stressed, 45:37 ladies and gentlemen, for example when 45:40 a test happens to us, our nerve 45:42 function is called the sympathetic 45:45 nervous system. What is sympathetic? It 45:49 means all our nerve systems are working 45:53 to respond to that stress. For example, 45:58 this involves an increased heart rate 46:03 and also a decrease in our digestive 46:07 system's activity. So, people who are 46:13 constipated and have trouble going to 46:17 the bathroom are usually stressed, 46:21 making it hard to digest and also hard 46:25 to pass waste, it's called constipation 46:29 and so on. So, the sympathetic nervous 46:34 system takes over. But if we succeed 46:37 and are able to be patient, we will 46:41 then unlock the reward. The body's 46:44 system will immediately switch to 46:47 parasympathetic. So, these are the 46:50 terms used in our physics. 46:52 Parasympathetic is the opposite. So, 46:55 what happens is the heart rate that was 47:02 previously beating fast and irregularly 47:05 , or our heart rate variability (HRV) 47:08 was irregular. Now, it becomes regular 47:10 again. If we can be patient during a 47:13 test, it can become regular again. Then 47:15 , the work of what? The stomach that 47:19 was struggling to digest, now can 47:21 digest again. Then what about? Our 47:25 large and small intestines. They can 47:28 then work properly again. And likewise 47:34 the work done by our pancreas, for 47:38 example. The pancreas is also affected. 47:42 When someone is stressed, their saliva 47:46 decreases, which is needed to digest 47:50 food from the start. So that the food 47:55 that enters can easily be converted 47:58 from glucose into energy. That saliva 48:04 is also produced by the pancreas. When 48:11 stressed, saliva decreases, eventually 48:14 causing sores in the mouth, or what we 48:18 know as canker sores. That's why when 48:21 people are stressed, one of the signs 48:23 is usually a canker sore. It just won't 48:25 heal. That is it. That means our body 48:28 is responding to that stress, that test 48:30 , that calamity; it’s all contained 48:32 within those five things, ladies and 48:35 gentlemen. Now, when someone succeeds 48:39 —I’ve made a chart on the Rasil TV 48:42 screen—a calamity happens to us. Then 48:46 our body will definitely respond. 48:49 However, the response depends on 48:52 whether we move past it quickly or not. 48:57 Because the body will definitely 48:59 respond in two ways: with the nervous 49:01 system response and the endocrine gland 49:03 response, which produces the cortisol 49:05 hormone. Cortisol hormone raises blood 49:09 sugar, it's called glucocorticoid. 49:12 That’s why one of the signs of being 49:14 stressed is that blood sugar levels 49:17 rise. Even if you watch what you eat, 49:19 for example, your blood sugar still 49:21 rises because of stress. Now, there are 49:25 two choices ahead, brothers and sisters 49:28 . A calamity happens, our body responds 49:31 . There are two choices. First, do we 49:36 stay in the stress phase? In stress 49:41 mode, it means still feeling the loss, 49:46 still feeling sad, still unable to 49:49 accept it, still feeling like, "Oh, 49:53 everything was mine." Then the nervous 49:58 system keeps running. It keeps running, 50:03 still feeling the loss. Oh, why is it 50:05 like this? I can't accept this. Yes, it 50:07 just stays stuck right there. So our 50:10 body eventually feels exhausted, tired, 50:13 because it’s in that response of... 50:16 what was it? The sympathetic nervous 50:20 system and the HPA axis, or the 50:22 hypothalamus, pituitary, and adrenal 50:24 glands. The second choice is to quickly 50:29 become a patient person. Meaning, 50:32 quickly saying this belongs to Allah, 50:34 not to me. Ah, that is the only way. 50:39 Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raji'un. 50:42 What does that mean? Let go. Let it go. 50:48 It’s not mine, but it belongs to 50:52 Allah. Yes, like that. If you can do 50:57 that, here is the result, sir. If you 51:00 can let go, then there is a physical 51:03 reward that Allah gives. We already 51:08 read the direct reward from Allah, 51:10 which is "ulaika alaihim shalawatun min 51:13 rabbihim wa rahmah wa ulaika humul 51:15 muhtadun." That was Surah Al-Baqarah 51:18 verse 157. Apparently, there is also a 51:22 physical reward in the form of a 51:24 hormone called acetylcholine. Now, what 51:28 is the acetylcholine hormone? So, the 51:30 story goes like this, ladies and 51:31 gentlemen. I will explain just a little 51:33 bit. When someone is patient—the 51:37 reward for patience is—well, when 51:41 someone is stressed, their heart beats 51:45 fast, right, when they lose something. 51:49 For example, a lack of wealth or a loss 51:52 in results, for instance. A business 51:56 you've nurtured since you were young 51:58 suddenly gets swindled by someone and 51:59 disappears, for example. Wow, the 52:02 heartbeat becomes irregular, the heart 52:04 rate variability becomes irregular 52:07 because of sadness, anger, and 52:09 resentment. Then, if they succeed, um, 52:13 what, when they, when their heartbeat, 52:17 um, beats rapidly due to stress, there 52:20 is a hormone called catecholamine 52:24 produced by the body. So, the impact is 52:29 that the heart beats more irregularly, 52:32 then, um, digestion becomes disrupted, 52:35 yes, saliva or spit decreases, becomes 52:38 dry, and so on, yes. One of them is to 52:42 accelerate the heartbeat because of 52:43 stress. It is called catecholamine, 52:46 ladies and gentlemen. Catecholamine 52:47 hormone. Now, it is dangerous if this 52:52 heartbeat continues to be irregular 52:54 because the presence of catecholamine 52:56 makes the heartbeat faster. The danger 53:00 is that atherosclerosis or narrowing of 53:03 blood vessels could occur, yes. Why the 53:06 blood vessels? Because the heart was 53:09 pumping blood, um, quickly, yes, very 53:11 fast and irregularly, right. Now, the 53:16 only way is by relaxing, by letting go. 53:20 Namely God's words: *Inna lillahi wa 53:22 inna ilaihi raji'un*. Absorb and live 53:25 out that meaning. Once we can truly 53:29 feel, yes, this belongs to God, it is 53:31 not mine. Why should I bother? I am not 53:34 losing anything anyway. It is not mine, 53:38 after all. Truly feel it within 53:41 ourselves. Truly let the meaning enter 53:46 our heart, soul, and mind. Truly let it 53:51 become our attitude. Then we can relax 53:55 and let go. Now, when relaxing, the 54:00 sympathetic nervous system, the hard 54:03 work of the heart and so on, becomes 54:06 relaxed. It is called parasympathetic. 54:11 If the sympathetic was working hard, 54:14 but parasympathetic, um, after we relax 54:16 , it is called parasympathetic. Ah, 54:22 once this parasympathetic takes over 54:24 from the heart working fast, with 54:26 stress, anger, annoyance, and so on. 54:30 Now, it becomes parasympathetic, it 54:33 slows down, it lowers the heartbeat so 54:36 it beats, um, slowly, ladies and 54:38 gentlemen. Now, that is where the body 54:43 releases a hormone called acetylcholine 54:46 . Now, actually, this acetylcholine 54:50 occurs because our heartbeat, which was 54:54 fast, becomes slow due to relaxing. 54:58 Previously stressed, yes, heartbeat 55:00 racing, upset, angry, and so on. Then* 55:03 innalillah*. Oh yes, this belongs to 55:05 God, not me. Why should I continue to 55:08 feel, yes, within myself. It belongs to 55:11 God. I am not losing anything. Now, the 55:13 heart beats, um, slower. The 55:17 acetylcholine hormone is there to 55:19 ensure the heart does not go too low. 55:21 That is basically how it works. But 55:23 apparently, this is what I call a gift. 55:29 Acetylcholine does not only work for 55:31 the heart, but there is a gift, ladies 55:34 and gentlemen, acetylcholine also 55:36 apparently impacts a part of the brain 55:39 called the hippocampus. Now, this is 55:45 the gift. So maybe, if all this time we 55:49 , um, thought acetylcholine was only 55:53 for the heart. Even though it is not. 55:56 As soon as the heart, the heart indeed 55:58 needs acetylcholine, but apparently the 56:01 gift is that it is also needed or 56:03 directly used by the brain part called 56:06 the hippocampus. What is this part of 56:09 the brain, the hippocampus? Deep inside 56:12 our brain, it is the part responsible 56:17 for converting short-term memories into 56:22 long-term memories. Short-term memory 56:28 is information we receive quickly, 56:31 which then becomes long-term memory. 56:35 Meaning, it will be stored within us 56:37 for a long time. In short, a person 56:40 becomes smart. Now, why smart? Because 56:46 what they remember, hear, and read— 56:49 which used to be forgotten quickly—is 56:51 now remembered for much longer. That 56:56 makes a person intelligent, a genius. 57:02 So, one's genius, intelligence, and 57:04 sharpness are marked by an abundance of 57:07 the hormone acetylcholine, which is 57:09 useful in the hippocampus. Where can 57:15 acetylcholine be obtained? One of the 57:19 most abundant sources is when we are 57:22 stressed, our heart beats fast, and we 57:25 then hurriedly practice patience, 57:27 telling ourselves, "This belongs to 57:30 Allah, not me." Acetylcholine flows. 57:36 Then that person not only improves 57:38 their heart health, but their 57:40 hippocampus also functions remarkably. 57:44 Ladies and gentlemen, may you be 57:45 blessed by Allah. That is why, as Allah 57:48 stated in the language of the Quran in 57:51 verse 157, let us go back to it. Ulaika 57:54 alaihim shalawatun min rabbihim wa 57:56 rahmah, wa ulaika humul muhtadun. They 58:00 are those who receive Allah's blessings 58:03 and, uh, receive what? A direct 58:08 connection to Allah, His mercy, and 58:09 more. Ulaika humul muhtadun. They are 58:13 the ones who truly receive guidance. 58:16 One way, one method for guidance to be 58:19 easily attained is through a brain that 58:22 can be used to analyze and reflect. The 58:28 brain’s ability to analyze and 58:30 reflect is enabled partly because of 58:33 the acetylcholine hormone, which is 58:36 gained after someone succeeds in being 58:39 patient during a trial. Now, this 58:44 hormone, acetylcholine, cannot be 58:47 bought at a pharmacy. For instance, 58:50 other hormones like melatonin can be 58:53 bought at a pharmacy in the form of 58:55 capsules, like sleep aids containing 58:57 melatonin. Dopamine or serotonin, for 59:01 example, exist, and we can buy 59:04 tryptophan. L-tryptophan, for example, 59:07 helps with serotonin and melatonin as 59:10 well. But acetylcholine is not 59:12 available. It is only produced by our 59:15 own body. Through what? Through that 59:18 change in heartbeat. From being 59:20 stressed while receiving a test, we 59:22 immediately transform that into 59:24 patience. Our heart rate variability 59:27 returns to normal, becoming low and 59:31 healthy. At that moment, acetylcholine 59:34 is released for the heart, but it also 59:36 impacts the brain, specifically the 59:38 hippocampus. Ladies and gentlemen, may 59:40 you be blessed by Allah. It is an 59:42 extraordinary reward, given instantly, 59:45 so that this person can easily receive 59:48 guidance. Muhtadun, those are the 59:51 people who receive guidance. Yes. So, 59:53 there is a great reward behind every 59:56 tragedy. If we succeed in responding to 59:59 that tragedy by becoming patient, by 1:00:02 internalizing the phrase "Innalillahi 1:00:04 wa inna ilaihi raji'un." Don't just say 1:00:09 it, don't just pay lip service to this 1:00:10 sentence, ladies and gentlemen. Don't 1:00:13 let it be mere empty words. Don't. But 1:00:16 reflect on it deeply. I belong to Allah 1:00:19 . Everything returns to Allah as well. 1:00:22 What is my loss? Yeah, there is no loss 1:00:24 at all. There is no loss at all, ladies 1:00:27 and gentlemen. Because nothing belongs 1:00:29 to me. Now, that feeling is what 1:00:32 subsequently produces the acetylcholine 1:00:34 hormone. Alright, brothers and sisters, 1:00:38 ladies and gentlemen blessed by Allah, 1:00:40 listeners of Radio Silaturahim, and 1:00:42 viewers of Rasil TV wherever you are. 1:00:45 This is the gift behind a disaster, er, 1:00:47 the type of test, right? Well, it 1:00:52 appears to have an extraordinary impact 1:00:54 on us, especially on our hippocampus 1:00:57 brain region. It makes someone smarter, 1:01:01 easier to receive guidance, easier to 1:01:04 analyze and understand a problem. 1:01:08 Because that acetylcholine hormone is 1:01:11 not just for the heart, but it also has 1:01:14 huge benefits for our brain, especially 1:01:17 the hippocampus, the part of the brain 1:01:20 that works to turn short-term memory 1:01:23 into long-term memory. Wallahu a'lam 1:01:27 bishawab. Hopefully, it provides 1:01:28 benefits. I return it to Kang Fahri in 1:01:31 the studio. Billahi taufiq wal hidayah. 1:01:33 Wassalamualaikum warahmatullahi 1:01:35 wabarakatuh. Thus, sisters. We have 1:01:41 just listened to the Quranic study with 1:01:44 Ustaz Dodi Amir Sagap, sisters, 1:01:45 regarding the theme of the gift behind 1:01:48 a disaster. Many messages have already 1:01:51 come in to the Rasil WhatsApp, Ustaz 1:01:52 Doni. I think we should go straight to 1:01:55 it, since it is 9:17 PM here, Western 1:01:57 Indonesian Time. 1:01:59 Oh, Mashallah. 1:02:00 Let's go straight to the incoming 1:02:01 questions and greetings from the Rasil 1:02:03 WhatsApp, starting with Mr. Mua Henri 1:02:05 who is listening. There is also Mrs. 1:02:07 Yangri and Mrs. Arsi in Sukabumi. Mr. 1:02:10 Musyawir, Mrs. Darniwati, also 1:02:13 Mrs. Aminah, Mr. Gusti in Ciputat, Mr. 1:02:16 Slamat Suryadi, Mr. Sarifudin, Mrs. 1:02:21 Kiswati. Mrs. Mariati in Sukabumi, Mr. 1:02:24 Masud in Batam, and many more who have 1:02:27 joined via WhatsApp and sent their 1:02:29 greetings as well as their questions. I 1:02:32 will read the first one, Ustaz. A 1:02:34 question from Mr. Mas'ud, Ustaz, in 1:02:37 Batam. 1:02:38 Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi 1:02:40 wabarakatuh, Ustaz Doni. 1:02:42 Waalaikumsalam warahmatullahi 1:02:43 wabarakatuh. 1:02:44 Please enlighten us, Ustaz, how can one 1:02:46 understand if a person being entrusted 1:02:49 with a position is a disaster? If 1:02:52 interpreted negatively, what about the 1:02:55 Quran entrusting humans, saying that 1:02:57 those who can carry out the mandate are 1:02:59 humans? Even though humans are prone to 1:03:02 being unjust. What I want to ask is, 1:03:05 for those who compete and hunt for 1:03:07 positions and are then confused when 1:03:09 they finally hold them because it's not 1:03:12 their field. Is that a disaster or a 1:03:15 trial, Ustaz? Please provide some 1:03:17 advice. That is all, 1:03:19 yes. Thank you to Mr., who was it again 1:03:23 ? What? 1:03:24 Mas'ud. 1:03:25 Mr. Mas'ud in Batam. 1:03:27 Mr. Mas'ud and ladies and gentlemen 1:03:30 blessed by Allah, brothers and sisters 1:03:32 everywhere. We previously mentioned 1:03:35 that there are five types of disasters. 1:03:38 So, what is it then? The trust given to 1:03:43 humans, both the general trust given to 1:03:46 mankind and specific trusts as well. 1:03:52 For example, the position you mentioned 1:03:54 earlier falls into the fifth category 1:03:56 of calamity, which is a test. If 1:04:00 handled well, there is a reward for it 1:04:03 too. But if not, it will become a form 1:04:08 of punishment and the human will be 1:04:10 held accountable for it in an 1:04:12 extraordinary way. Yes, so being born 1:04:16 as a human is also a form of calamity, 1:04:19 meaning it is a test. 1:04:21 Yes, that fifth type of calamity. 1:04:25 Moreover, there are specific positions 1:04:28 where we are responsible before Allah 1:04:32 and to many people, to the public, and 1:04:36 to society at large. Now, that is 1:04:39 extraordinary. But if it is carried out 1:04:42 honestly and fairly, the impact and the 1:04:44 reward are also extraordinary. Of 1:04:48 course, to all friends or brothers and 1:04:51 sisters wherever you are who have been 1:04:54 given this fifth type of calamity in 1:04:57 the form of a position, wherever you 1:05:00 may be, if I may give advice as a 1:05:03 fellow brother, please truly guard that 1:05:06 trust well. Because it can become 1:05:10 something with a very good impact on 1:05:12 you, but it can also become something 1:05:15 with a very bad impact on you. It all 1:05:18 depends on how you treat it. Yes, 1:05:22 that’s roughly it. 1:05:23 Mashallah. Mrs. Hajah Saidah is tuning 1:05:27 in. Thank you, Ustaz Doni, for the 1:05:28 advice and the sermon. We also have 1:05:31 Mrs. Siti Anisa, Mr. Arwin, Umu Arif, 1:05:33 Mr. Salam, and Mr. Nur Sumiatno who are 1:05:36 also tuning in. Next, Ustaz, a question 1:05:39 from a servant of Allah. Peace be upon 1:05:40 you, and Allah's mercy and blessings. 1:05:43 And peace be upon you, and Allah's 1:05:44 mercy and blessings. 1:05:44 Ustaz, I have separated from my husband 1:05:46 . My two children, one boy and one girl 1:05:49 , both went with their father. They are 1:05:52 both adults now, but neither of them 1:05:54 cares for me, Ustaz. They never visit 1:05:57 me; even when I was sick, they never 1:06:00 checked on me. How should I act? Is it 1:06:03 a sin for my children to leave their 1:06:05 mother like that? Is this a test or a 1:06:08 calamity? Could it also be called a 1:06:11 gift, Ustaz? That is all. 1:06:14 Alright, thank you to the mother who 1:06:16 asked. Of course, if we return to the 1:06:19 types of the five calamities mentioned 1:06:26 earlier, what you described might be 1:06:29 the type where we need to reflect on 1:06:33 ourselves. Perhaps the third or maybe 1:06:37 the fourth type. Have we ever made 1:06:42 mistakes in this regard, perhaps toward 1:06:46 our children and so on? And as humans, 1:06:50 of course, if we have made mistakes, 1:06:53 there is still time for us to make 1:06:56 amends. So, what do you call it? If 1:07:00 indeed something has happened, it 1:07:04 doesn't just happen instantly out of 1:07:08 nowhere; there must have been 1:07:12 a process. 1:07:13 The process that occurred beforehand. 1:07:17 So, what I mean is, let us, the mother 1:07:21 who asked and all of us, introspect. If 1:07:25 there are mistakes on our part, let us 1:07:27 repent. If the fault is before God, we 1:07:30 repent to God. If the fault is against 1:07:35 a fellow human being, anyone at all, 1:07:38 whether it's a child or otherwise, we 1:07:41 must apologize so that the bond of 1:07:44 kinship and love can be restored. Of 1:07:49 course, I do not wish to point fingers 1:07:54 or anything of the sort. But I would 1:07:59 like to say that a child's love is 1:08:05 truly a pure form of affection. If 1:08:12 parents truly provide love to their 1:08:16 children, then surely the child is born 1:08:20 in a state of purity. There is no such 1:08:25 thing as a child born inherently 1:08:27 rebellious. However, life's journey and 1:08:30 processes are what later cause them to 1:08:33 behave, perhaps, improperly. So I think 1:08:36 let us reflect on ourselves more 1:08:39 regarding this matter. Improving 1:08:42 ourselves if there are any faults. God 1:08:44 knows best. God willing. 1:08:45 Very well. From Mr. Hadi. Peace be upon 1:08:47 you, Ustaz Doni. 1:08:49 And peace be upon you too. Ustaz, 1:08:52 please enlighten us regarding a hadith 1:08:55 or Quranic verse explaining that if 1:08:57 there is immorality in an area, forty 1:09:00 houses around it will be affected. Now, 1:09:04 will those of us who know nothing about 1:09:07 it also be affected? How is it in this 1:09:11 day and age when we cannot choose only 1:09:14 good neighbors? Please enlighten us. 1:09:17 That is all, Ustaz. Very well. What you 1:09:22 mentioned is a hadith, but we can 1:09:26 explain it more clearly, perhaps you 1:09:30 can note this down, which is in Surah 1:09:34 Al-Anfal, the 8th surah, verse 25, yes, 1:09:42 verse 25 of Surah Al-Anfal, the 8th 1:09:47 surah. Verse 25. Please, sir, if you 1:09:53 wish to note it down, Ladies and 1:09:57 gentlemen, if you wish to note it down, 1:09:58 please do. Verse 25 of Surah Al-Anfal 1:10:02 says this: Wattaqu fitnatan la 1:10:05 tusiballadinaamu minkum khassah, 1:10:12 anallaha syadidul iqab. And fear a 1:10:16 trial that will not strike those among 1:10:20 you who have done wrong exclusively, 1:10:23 but will strike everyone. It will not 1:10:29 only strike the wrongdoers. The 1:10:35 wrongdoers who commit the damage, but 1:10:37 the impact will reach everyone present 1:10:39 there. Exactly. Wamallahidul iqab. Know 1:10:43 that God is severe in punishment. Who 1:10:48 is meant to be affected by this? 1:10:51 Commentators explain that it refers to 1:10:54 people who, when they witness a form of 1:10:57 wrongdoing, simply remain silent. Ah, 1:11:03 so if we witness wrongdoing happening 1:11:06 in our midst, we must not just stay 1:11:09 silent. If we remain silent, the 1:11:12 consequences of that wrongdoing will 1:11:14 also affect us, even if we are not the 1:11:16 ones who committed it. 1:11:19 But as long as we have fulfilled our 1:11:23 obligation to at least say that 1:11:26 something is wrong, it is even better 1:11:30 if we then look for ways to address or 1:11:33 prevent that evil. So, if we have 1:11:39 fulfilled that obligation, the scholars 1:11:42 say we will not be among those who are 1:11:45 impacted by the unjust acts that affect 1:11:48 everyone around them. 1:11:51 Like that. So, what I mean is, if you 1:11:55 see injustice in your neighborhood, 1:11:58 find a way to address it so it doesn't 1:12:01 happen again. Or at the very least, 1:12:07 speak up or do something, pray, and so 1:12:12 on, so that it can be stopped 1:12:15 immediately. Don't just stay silent. If 1:12:20 you stay silent, you will be among 1:12:22 those affected by the consequences of 1:12:24 the unjust people's actions. Yes, 1:12:27 that's roughly it. 1:12:28 I 1:12:28 Mr. Hadi, right, who asked earlier. 1:12:30 Mr. Hadi, yes, that's right. Next, this 1:12:32 is the last one, Ustaz. 1:12:35 Yes. 1:12:35 The last one is from Mr. Sahrul. Peace 1:12:37 be upon you, Ustaz Doni. 1:12:39 And peace be upon you too. 1:12:41 Ustaz, what are the signs that a 1:12:43 calamity is a gift from Allah to His 1:12:45 servant? How do we know if a calamity 1:12:48 or life's hardship is a gift? Isn't it 1:12:53 a warning, a punishment, or a result of 1:12:56 other people's sins? That's all. 1:12:59 Yes. Earlier, Mr. Sahrul, we explained 1:13:03 that there are five types of calamities 1:13:06 . The calamity that is a gift is the 1:13:08 fifth one, which is in the form of a 1:13:10 test. Now, what does it entail? There 1:13:12 are five more parts to that. And the 1:13:20 gift will depend on how we respond to 1:13:23 it. Namely, when a calamity happens, we 1:13:30 say "Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi 1:13:31 raji'un." If we can respond by truly 1:13:35 feeling the essence of the meaning of " 1:13:37 Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji'un," 1:13:40 letting go, and of course having 1:13:42 positive thoughts about Allah, ladies 1:13:45 and gentlemen. Because everything 1:13:49 belongs to Allah and returns to Allah, 1:13:53 the gift will be there based on our 1:13:56 response. So, it's not just "you get a 1:13:59 test, then you get a gift" just like 1:14:01 that, no. It depends on how you respond 1:14:04 to it. If we cannot respond with 1:14:06 patience, get grumpy, don't accept it, 1:14:08 or get angry, there is no gift. 1:14:11 Yes, 1:14:13 what makes it a gift is our response. 1:14:18 So, whatever test happens to us, it 1:14:20 depends on how we respond to it. Can we 1:14:24 say "Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi 1:14:27 raji'un" or not? Is it a pure "Inna 1:14:29 lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji'un" or not? 1:14:31 It depends on that. So, let us purify 1:14:35 the phrase "Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi 1:14:39 raji'un" as a way to respond when 1:14:43 calamity strikes, so that Allah's gift 1:14:47 may flow to us. 1:14:50 That is roughly the answer for Mr. 1:14:51 Sahrul and all the brothers and sisters 1:14:53 . So it's about our response, right, to 1:14:56 that gift, Ustaz? 1:14:58 Earlier, there was the example of the 1:15:01 hormone, what was it called, 1:15:02 acetylcholine, which is produced to 1:15:05 make us smarter as a reaction to us 1:15:07 being patient with tests and the stress 1:15:09 we face. 1:15:11 Alright, Ustaz, perhaps before we wrap 1:15:12 up, we can summarize today's discussion 1:15:14 . Oh right, regarding the Zoom study, 1:15:17 it is still possible on Friday mornings 1:15:19 , right? 1:15:20 Yes, every Friday morning. Uh-huh. 1:15:21 Please go ahead. 1:15:22 The study is called MMQ, Majelis Makbul 1:15:24 Quran, for those who want to join via 1:15:27 Zoom with Ustaz Doni. On Friday 1:15:29 mornings, you can contact the number 1:15:31 0877 80211692. 087780211692. Very well, 1:15:42 Ustaz. Please summarize today, Ustaz. 1:15:44 Yes. Gentlemen, ladies, brothers and 1:15:47 sisters, listeners of Radio Silaturahim 1:15:49 , and viewers of Rasil TV wherever you 1:15:52 are. Allah's tests will certainly 1:15:55 happen to us, and they are a form of 1:15:58 calamity that comes as a test; it will 1:16:01 surely happen. Now, it just depends on 1:16:05 how we respond to it. If we can respond 1:16:09 correctly, as Allah explained earlier 1:16:11 in Surah Al-Baqarah verses 156-157, 1:16:13 then there is a gift behind it. 1:16:17 What is the extraordinary gift? Ulaika 1:16:19 alaihim sholawatun min robbihim 1:16:21 warohmah, wa ulaika humul muhtadun. 1:16:24 Receiving a connection to Allah, 1:16:26 Allah's mercy, and guidance from Allah. 1:16:31 Apparently, physically, the 1:16:33 acetylcholine hormone also occurs in 1:16:36 our bodies, and it's not just for the 1:16:39 heart, but also for our hippocampus to 1:16:42 work better, which is the part of the 1:16:45 brain that turns short-term memory into 1:16:48 long-term memory, or makes someone 1:16:51 smarter, more intelligent, more genius, 1:16:54 because of that acetylcholine hormone. 1:16:59 This is an extraordinary gift from 1:17:01 Allah to those who are able to respond 1:17:04 correctly to the tests in their lives. 1:17:07 Wallahu a'lam. 1:17:10 Thank you, Ustaz, for the advice and 1:17:12 guidance this evening on the Tadabur 1:17:14 Al-Quran program with the theme "The 1:17:16 Gift Behind Calamity." Hopefully, what 1:17:19 has been conveyed is beneficial for us 1:17:21 all; I, who am on duty, Pahri, 1:17:22 accompanied by Neza and also Yusuf 1:17:23 Subeng, bid you farewell. 1:17:25 Subhanakallahumma bihamdika ashadu alla 1:17:27 ilaha illa anta astaghfiruka wa atubu 1:17:29 ilaik. Assalamu'alaikum warahmatullahi 1:17:31 wabarakatuh.
