- Brothers and sisters listening wherever
- you may be. And also viewers tuning in
- through social media such as Facebook
- or YouTube this evening. We hope that
- all brothers and sisters are always in
- good health, doing well, and certainly
- happy as we meet again tonight for our
- evening program. With me, Jur Zulfikar,
- accompanied by our fellow dakwah
- warriors tonight. We have Dedi on
- camera, Bang Yusuf as the operator,
- Robi on the switcher, and our friends
- the dakwah warriors in the regions, all
- here to greet you, our brothers and
- sisters. As usual, on Tuesday night, we
- will follow our QBU reflection study.
- For today's edition, the 18th night of
- Safar 1439 Hijri, coinciding with the
- 8th of November 2017. And, as you well
- know, in our reflection session, we
- will again listen to advice, guidance,
- and motivation from our teacher, Ustaz
- Rahmatullah, who, alhamdulillah, has
- returned to be with us in the studio.
- Let us greet him. Peace, mercy, and
- blessings of Allah be upon you, Ustaz.
- And peace, mercy, and blessings of
- Allah be upon you too.
- Are you doing well and in good health,
- Ustaz?
- Praise be to Allah. Praise be to Allah.
- Praise be to Allah. Last week, we were
- not live, were we? Alhamdulillah, the
- Ustaz is back with us tonight. And we
- will continue discussing the same topic
- as our previous meetings, Ustaz.
- Because this topic of "certainty"(yakin
- ) is indeed very, very vast, Ustaz. Yes
- .
- And it would be a shame not to finish
- it. So tonight, we will still be
- discussing the topic of certainty. In
- our previous meeting, brothers and
- sisters, we discussed how this
- certainty is explained by the Ustaz and
- how this attitude of certainty should
- be. Our faith as a believer arises from
- how we read the cosmic signs, reading
- the signs of Allah's power that are all
- around us. And for tonight, we will
- continue, and we will still be in a
- discussion format, Ustaz.
- Yes.
- It will be a discussion format where I
- will ask questions, and later we will
- also give an opportunity for brothers
- and sisters who wish to ask the Ustaz.
- Let's get started right away, Ustaz.
- Regarding this certainty, I'd like to
- begin by looking at how we view life's
- problems, as there are always problems,
- Ustaz.
- Yes.
- Sometimes trials come, sometimes people
- call it a disaster, sometimes they call
- it
- a hardship, whether it comes from
- within or outside of ourselves.
- Well, the problem is, when these issues
- or disasters come, some people are able
- to resolve them. We also see many
- people who fail. Yesterday, the Ustaz
- explained that even for Muslims, those
- who have faith, there are three levels,
- Ustaz. At least
- as a Muslim,
- he
- a Mu'min, and also a Muhsin, Ustaz. Now
- ,
- do these three levels have an influence
- on this conviction?
- Not to mention when we look at those
- who do not have faith. But there are
- also, Ustaz,
- people who don't have faith who can
- resolve the problems they face.
- Now, how do we answer this?
- Yes. Right, thank you.
- Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.
- Assalamu'alaikum warahmatullahi
- wabarakatuh.
- Waalaikumsalam.
- Alhamdulillah wasalatu wassalamu ala
- rasulillah wala haula wala quwwata illa
- billah. Listeners of Rasil Radio, may
- you be honored by Allah Subhanahu wa
- ta'ala. We offer our praises to the
- presence of Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala.
- May blessings and peace be poured by
- Allah upon our master Rasulullah
- Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam,
- his family, his companions, and upon us
- all. Amin ya rabbal alamin. The
- question is very interesting indeed.
- Because what is known as a disaster or
- a test is actually a portion for humans
- , yes. So whether a person is a
- righteous person? If it was said
- earlier that those without faith, well,
- "We tested them with good and bad, that
- they might return." So the tests are
- the same, given directly by Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala. If it was
- mentioned earlier that our religion
- consists of the levels of Islam, Iman,
- and Ihsan. Um, certainly these three
- levels will have different levels of
- conviction. At the same time, when
- receiving a test from Allah, these
- three levels will also react
- differently. Hmm. Of course, as humans,
- we can be tested by our families,
- tested by our wives, or tested by our
- own children. So here, naturally, the
- reactions or attitudes will differ
- across these three stations. The
- station of Islam, the station of Iman,
- and the station of Ihsan. Yes, because
- in reality, Islam, Iman, and Ihsan are
- the levels of faith in Allah Subhanahu
- wa ta'ala. Yes, of course, people who
- are at the station of Ihsan must have
- the highest level of conviction before
- Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. Because,
- indeed, those at the station of Ihsan
- have a very high level of conviction.
- They are truly certain of Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala. So, whatever
- disaster is sent down by Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala, it remains as
- stated by Allah. "No fear shall be upon
- them, nor shall they grieve." So they
- are never afraid, never sad, never
- anxious. Because that conviction truly
- provides, what shall we call it, an
- answer. A fortress. A fortress. In
- other words, for those of us striving
- to reach the station of Ihsan or even
- the station of Iman, it is certainly
- different from those at the station of
- Islam, let alone those who have no
- faith at all. So, when facing a
- calamity, those who lack faith in Allah
- will inevitably feel panic, confusion,
- and so on. In this sense, faith
- provides a fortress that is very, what
- should I call it? A quite solid defense
- . Hm. Yes. So, from the perspective of
- feelings, because truly, when a person
- is tested or receives a calamity from
- Allah, then as the Prophet's hadith
- says, Allah is as His servant perceives
- Him to be. So those feelings become the
- gauge. Yes.
- Hm. So when, for example, one is tested
- by Allah, the measure of patience is at
- the very first blow. So, when the first
- test occurs, at that very moment, how
- does a servant respond when receiving a
- calamity or test from Allah Subhanahu
- wa ta'ala? It is certainly very
- different for someone who has strong
- faith in Allah compared to someone who
- has no creed at all. This will also
- differ in how they approach their
- attitude. Their demeanor will be
- different. So for those who are at the
- station of Iman, and especially Ihsan.
- Because this station of Ihsan is the
- highest peak of faith, according to
- Rasulullah sallallahu alaihi wasallam.
- So they truly have a guarantee, they
- are absolutely certain that it is Allah
- who sends down the calamity. While
- Allah is the Essence that we strive
- toward. How we labor, struggle, yes.
- With all our soul, energy, and wealth,
- we strive to love Allah Subhanahu wa
- ta'ala with the hope that Allah will
- love us. So that faith is what will
- truly provide a different appearance
- when humans receive a calamity or test
- from Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. So,
- feelings of contentment, of being
- pleased, always being pleased with what
- is sent down by Allah Subhanahu wa
- ta'ala. Whether that test comes in the
- form of pleasure? Whether that test
- comes in the form of bitterness? Yes,
- the attitude remains the same for those
- at the station of Ihsan. Why is that?
- Because faith is indeed an
- extraordinary strength. Yes. So here,
- what we truly need to strive for is to
- what extent we try to strengthen our
- faith in Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. Now
- , of course, there must be a reference
- point here. Meaning, how do we gain
- faith or how do we go about having
- faith in Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala? Yes
- , it is stated here that "Dhalikal
- kitabu la rayba fihi, hudal lil
- muttaqin." This is the Book, there is
- no doubt in it. Yes, "Hudal lil
- muttaqin." A guide for those who are
- pious to Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. So,
- indeed, the source of all sources of
- faith is the Al-Qur'anul Karim. So how
- do we, our souls, strive as much as
- possible so that our souls can, uh,
- understand with all our hearts, of
- course with the help of Allah Subhanahu
- wa ta'ala. So that is truly an
- extraordinary conviction. How indeed
- what has been, uh, set forth in the
- Qur'an, Allah truly wants to instill
- that to become a strength within our
- souls. Meaning that, uh, the conviction
- that stems from the Noble Qur'an is a
- conviction that becomes a strength with
- no equal. So Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala
- has already facilitated us. We are
- given a soul, given a spirit, then the
- reference is the Qur'an, whose miracle
- is still valid to this day. Meaning if
- this is ignored, then truly, uh, with
- what else would we want to have a
- conviction or is there, uh, something
- that grows conviction uh, exceeding
- that of the Noble Qur'an. That is why
- we should be grateful and happy. Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala has, uh, given His
- guidance to us with sincerity, how, uh,
- at the same time our love for the Noble
- Qur'an. Now, so here the growth of that
- conviction is the most, uh, uh, what do
- you call it? meaning it has a strength
- that is extraordinary, so the source is
- from the Noble Qur'an. Perhaps that is
- it. Allah.
- Yes, all right. There is also a
- paradigm in our society, including
- those who claim to be Muslim, Ustaz,
- that living happily is to look at
- societies that already live in
- developed countries.
- Yes.
- How do they work? How they arrange
- their lives is considered a guide on
- how a, uh, good life is. However, the
- facts and research prove that in these
- developed countries, let's take the
- West for example, the rates of suicide,
- murder, and crime are actually higher,
- Ustaz.
- Yes. But Muslims who actually already
- have a foundation, namely Islam itself
- with the Qur'an, are still seeing a
- lack and they want something more. Now,
- how to change this perspective, Ustaz?
- How do we believe in this, Ustaz? What
- kind of education is needed?
- Yes. If the measure was, let's say, uh,
- life abroad, or, let's say, for example
- , in countries that are already
- developed, right. Uh, actually, there
- is a saying like this. A rain of gold
- in a foreign land, a rain of stones in
- one's own land, it is still better to
- have that rain of stones. meaning in
- that, it turns out that abundant wealth
- does not make a human being happy. Even
- with a, uh, soul that makes the world a
- goal. Right? Even that soul makes the
- world its love. The more the soul loves
- the world, the more arid its life will
- become. That was the example. In
- countries that are already developed,
- right, where the glitter of the world
- has, uh, they have reached there. It
- turns out they do not find happiness
- there, but rather aridness.
- There are more problems.
- Yes. So the root of the problem is
- actually the world. So from an economic
- side, it is fulfilled, but in reality,
- uh, what do you call it, the suicide
- rate. over there, it's actually even
- more. If we look at it from the
- perspective of Dinul Islam, then truly
- among ourselves, within our own circles
- , there is Islam, there is Iman, and
- there is Ihsan. like that. So, at the
- level of Islam, it is actually, what's
- it called, still oriented towards
- things that are worldly. So, as the
- Javanese say, it is "sawang sinawang."
- Meaning, "sawang sinawang" is like a
- person looking at, what's it called? A
- mountain from afar. How beautiful that
- mountain is. But it is seen from a
- distance. Whereas if we were to
- approach the mountain, there we would
- find, what's it called? Rocks, and many
- craters that, if we look closely, are
- actually not beautiful. So, here, the
- reality is the essence of happiness is
- in the soul. It is not in the ego (hawa
- ). The ego is indeed intertwined with
- the world, yes. While the soul's
- natural inclination is towards Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala, like that. Thus,
- the essence of happiness is when
- someone feels a sense of peace, a
- tranquility, and in that state of
- tranquility, they have no dependence on
- anything or anyone, except upon Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala. That is truly the
- pinnacle of happiness. But when a
- person's dependence on the world
- becomes higher, then that person is
- actually experiencing one...peak what's
- it called? of suffering. At the same
- time, when the soul is truly making the
- world everything. Then there is truly
- no belief at all left in Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala.
- It doesn't feel like anything.
- When there is no longer any belief in
- Allah, that is where the true pinnacle
- of life's suffering lies.
- like that. That is why we, what's it
- called? Ought to be grateful, to be
- thankful to Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala.
- Because no matter how small the faith
- we have felt, it provides a solution to
- life. Making life beautiful, there is a
- certain beauty in it. Yes. Then, with
- that faith, every calamity, every test
- sent down by Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala,
- He will provide a way out for them all.
- like that. Because that is a decree
- that has been decided by Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala. Waman yattaqillaha
- yaj'al lahu makhraja, wa yarzuqhu min
- haythu la yahtasib. Yes. So whoever is
- mindful of Allah, Allah will provide a
- way out of every difficulty. That means
- the verse becomes a conviction that
- Allah will definitely provide a way out
- . yes. so, what's it called, because we
- have the conviction that Allah will
- provide a way out, we will never fear
- any calamity or any test. Because in
- reality, those calamities and tests
- come from Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala.
- Meanwhile, we strive as much as
- possible to become closer to Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala. So there is
- nothing we need to fear, whether it is
- a calamity or a test. The only thing we
- fear is Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. Well
- , those kinds of beliefs are what truly
- provide extraordinary strength. Fear
- only God. Depend only on God. Do not
- depend on created beings, let alone the
- world. Yes. Now, that conviction is
- what truly provides firmness, peace,
- beauty, and that is indeed the essence
- of true happiness. Many people have
- great wealth but barren hearts, and
- their lives are restless. When left by
- their worldly possessions, they become
- distressed. The more they chase the
- world, the more it runs away, and the
- more stressed their lives become. So,
- belief in Allah is a source of both
- extraordinary strength and happiness.
- Perhaps. Right. Then, Ustaz. Problems
- are usually inseparable from regret.
- For example, when someone faces a
- problem, they think it happened because
- they took the wrong step. I did this. I
- shouldn't have. Eventually, when I make
- a mistake, I face this problem and
- regret it, Boss. Even though they don't
- think that this is God's way of testing
- them,
- wanting to raise their status, or
- giving them a trial. But sometimes, it
- doesn't feel that way. We regret our
- own actions, blame ourselves, and don't
- believe that this is destiny.
- God governs all of this. How should one
- handle that, Sir?
- Yes. That is why, look. People who have
- faith, because this belief is actually
- faith, right? In Surah Al-Hujurat verse
- 15, "Innamal mu'minunalladhina amanu
- billahi wa rasulihi.""Thumma lam
- yartabu wa jahadu fi sabilillahi..."
- Truly, the believers are only those who
- believe in Allah and His Messenger—
- they are truly the ones who believe in
- Allah and His Messenger. "Thumma lam
- yartabu." Then they do not doubt. Now,
- "not doubting" is having conviction. So
- in this verse, the essence is not
- doubting or having certainty, which is
- faith. Right. Now, that is what is
- called true faith. So, regarding the
- point you mentioned earlier?
- People sometimes feel it's their own
- mistake, rather than...
- Now, for people of faith, in reality,
- before doing something, before taking
- action, then they report first to Allah
- Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. Yes, report to
- Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. Now, after
- reporting to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala,
- what does that mean? Seeking guidance
- from Allah, doing things because it is
- commanded by Allah, and seeking
- strength from Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala
- . As for the journey, of course, life
- in this world will not always be smooth
- . That is what is called "Inna ma'al '
- usri yusra." With hardship comes ease.
- So, hardship and ease are the laws of
- God (sunnatullah). Truly, if we reflect
- on hardship and ease, for example, this
- is hard, this is easy. Actually, if we
- understand that verse, the space
- between hardship and ease. That is
- truly the enjoyment. That's it. So, for
- example, when we are on a journey,
- let's say we slip or something else
- happens, right? People who believe in
- Allah, they feel that when we do
- something, we report it to Allah first.
- They are truly convinced that this is
- indeed a test from Allah Subhanahu wa
- ta'ala. When this is a test from Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala, because we have
- faith or conviction, surely Allah will
- provide a way out. That's one. Then the
- second, that in this life, um, what is
- it called? It's like a story, like a
- soap opera episode, right? Yes.
- So, in this episode of the story, we
- suddenly trip in the middle of the
- journey. Even though the story episode
- is still at 40%. So, what does that
- mean? The story is not 100%finished yet
- . So if the story is only 40%, it
- cannot be interpreted yet.
- The ending later, when it hits 100%, is
- truly the story of our lives. That is
- where what is called conviction comes
- in. That in this life, there is a
- process—it could be a 20%, 30%, or 40
- %process. Of course, in these processes
- , there will surely be*inna ma'al usri
- yusra*, with hardship comes ease. And
- that is*sunatullah*, the way of Allah.
- It means that our conviction is that we
- don't need to be afraid, and we have
- the conviction that when this story
- episode reaches 100%, the ending will
- be won by those who have strong
- conviction from Allah Subhanahu wa
- ta'ala. Why is that? Because of the
- verse earlier, *wa man yattaqillaha
- yaj'al lahu makhraja*. *Wa man
- yatawakkal' alallah fahuwa hasbuh*. Yes
- , whoever fears Allah, Allah will
- provide a way out of every difficulty
- and provide sustenance from unexpected
- paths. *Wa man yatawakkal 'alallah*.
- Whoever entrusts all their affairs to
- Allah, *fahuwa hasbuh*. Then Allah will
- suffice their needs. So the ending of
- that verse will definitely appear when
- this 100%story is finished. So that
- conviction is what we truly must plant
- deeply within the depths of our hearts.
- So that truly, *la khaufun' alaihim wa
- la hum yahzanun*. Yes, never sad, never
- grieving. Because the ending, the end
- of the story, will surely be won by
- those who believe and do good to Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala. That conviction is
- truly what never fades in the soul of
- those who believe and do good to Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala. So they truly feel
- , um, what is it called? That soul
- stability earlier. *La khaufun 'alaihim
- wa la hum yahzanun*. Never sad, never,
- this is truly, um, what is it called?
- It approaches being constant, it
- approaches being stable, stable because
- of that conviction in Allah Subhanahu
- wa ta'ala. So this conviction is, um,
- what is it called? An extraordinary
- power. Now, that is what we need to
- possess. It means for people at the
- level of faith or the level of ihsan,
- those called muhsin, it is certainly
- different from those at the level of
- muslim. There are muslims, there are
- mu'mins, there are muhsins. Their
- levels of faith are different. Like
- that. So their feelings are also
- different. Meaning that at the muslim
- level, the frequency of anxiety is very
- high. While at the level of faith,
- especially ihsan, they have no fear and
- no grief. So in Surah Yunus it is
- mentioned, uh, verses 62 to 64. "Ala
- inna auliya Allah la khaufun alaihim wa
- la hum yahzanun." Know that the allies
- of Allah have no fear and no grief. Who
- are they? "Alladzina amanu wa kanu
- yattaqun." They are those who believe
- and fear Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. "
- Lahumul busra fil hayatid dunya wa fil
- akhirah." Yes, they are happy in this
- world and happy in the hereafter. So,
- uh. This world and the hereafter will
- be won by those who believe and fear
- Allah. This world and the hereafter
- will be won by those who have strong
- faith in Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. And
- that is truly the peak of human
- happiness. When one has reached the
- state of no fear and no grief. No
- sadness, no sorrow. But that does not
- mean that when a person has no sadness
- or grief. It does not mean that the
- person never faces difficulties.
- Because they have the conviction that
- life follows "Inna ma'al usri yusra."
- With hardship comes ease. So actually,
- hardship is not a problem; it is the
- way of Allah. One that we must not run
- from, we must face it. It means it
- teaches us not to be crybabies. No
- matter how hard we are knocked down, we
- must stand tall. Of course, we ask for
- that strength from Allah Subhanahu wa
- ta'ala. We are "la haula wala quwwata
- illa billahil aliyil azhim." We have no
- power, no strength; all power and
- strength belong to Allah. So because it
- belongs to Allah, we just ask Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala. And we have the
- conviction that Allah will surely grant
- it. As long as we are earnest toward
- Allah. "Walladzina jahadu fina
- lanahdiannahum subulana." Those who
- strive hard in seeking My path, says
- Allah, I will surely show them My ways.
- "Wa innallaha la ma'al muhsinin." And
- indeed, Allah is surely with the
- muhsinin. Allah is with those who are
- at the level of ihsan. Allah is with
- those who strive earnestly as mentioned
- earlier. People will be with Allah if
- they have high conviction in Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala. So this conviction
- is truly a key word in our lives. I.
- Maybe in conclusion, this conviction is
- a package with surrender and reliance.
- Yes, exactly. So, because that person
- already has extraordinary conviction in
- Allah, well, we just surrender
- everything to Allah. "Waman yatawakkal'
- alallahi fahuwa hasbuh."
- Yes. So whoever surrenders to Allah,
- then Allah will suffice their needs. So
- we don't need to worry about anything
- anymore. Just leave it all to Allah.
- Because Allah will surely give the best
- for His servants.
- That is already the formula. Exactly.
- So whatever, now, this is about
- attitude, it comes back to the attitude
- of faith, right. Whatever Allah
- Subhanahu wa taala sends down to us,
- that is the best.
- As it says in Surah Al-Baqarah, "wa asa
- an takrahu saian wahuwa khairullakum.""
- Wa huwa" It could be that what you hate
- is good for you. And it could be that
- what you love is bad for you. Allah
- knows while you do not know, says Allah
- . So this is a conviction, and we
- obtain this conviction from the
- Al-Qur'anul Karim. Right? Meaning, the
- expression earlier, it could be that
- what you hate is good for you and so on
- . If it did not originate from the
- Al-Qur'an, right? We surely would not
- have that conviction. But because its
- source is the Al-Qur'an, which has
- become a strength within our souls.
- That is why, truly, this Al-Qur'an is
- extraordinary, and the miracle of the
- Al-Qur'an, the light of the Al-Qur'an,
- the source of all sources of light, is
- in the Al-Qur'anul Karim. So, how Allah
- , with His attribute of Rahman and
- Rahim, His compassion. If it was
- explained earlier that those who are
- earnest in their conviction, that is
- actually what becomes a motivation in
- our lives that never fades. Because
- Allah's promise is truly, Allah will
- not just show the way, but will
- accompany, will be together with Allah
- Subhanahu wa taala. For those who are
- earnest in heading towards Allah
- Subhanahu wa taala. Now, that is a
- phrase of conviction, perhaps.
- Very good, masyaallah. Subhanallah. So,
- the Al-Qur'an is the center of life's
- solutions, Ustaz, right?
- The Al-Qur'an is extraordinary.
- Subhanallah.
- Yes, that was our discussion tonight,
- presented by Ustaz Rahmatullah,
- discussing conviction with the specific
- topic of how this conviction serves as
- a life solution when facing problems,
- disasters, or difficulties. And we
- invite those at home who also wish to
- participate with us tonight, who want
- to ask questions or perhaps have
- opinions they would like to share,
- please call us at 0218451512. Or you
- can send them via SMS or WhatsApp at
- 0811999720. We will return soon and
- continue our study with a Q&A session
- after this break. Lailahaillallah.
- Muhammadur Rasulullah. Lailahaill
