- Radio Silaturahim for a united Islam.
- Brothers and sisters who are blessed by
- Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. Thank you
- for staying with us in the QBU
- reflection program this evening with
- Ustaz Rahmatullah. Alright, in the
- second session, we will open the Q&A
- session, and we will start with the
- first question, Ustaz.
- Yes.
- The first question is from Semarang,
- from Imron, who is 29 years old. Peace
- be upon you, and Allah's mercy and
- blessings.
- And peace be upon you, and Allah's
- mercy.
- Alright, Ustaz. How can a Muslim
- practice in order not to be trapped by
- the deceptions of Satan? Alright, thank
- you. In the name of Allah, the Most
- Gracious, the Most Merciful. So, how do
- we ensure we are not trapped by the
- deceptions of Satan?
- Yes. Uh uh let us look into uh what
- surah chapter hold on, let me look it
- up, chapter 20 you can look at surah 20
- verse 124, yes.
- Surah Annur.
- Yes. Surah Thaha.
- Thaha.
- I seek refuge in Allah from Satan, the
- accursed. And whoever turns away from
- My remembrance, indeed he will have a
- depressed life and We will gather him
- on the Day of Resurrection blind. And
- whoever turns away from My remembrance,
- then surely he will live a narrow life,
- and We will gather him on the Day of
- Resurrection in a state of blindness.
- That is one. So that is uh uh dhikr (
- remembrance), yes. Then the uh another
- one in the verse uh surah it goes like
- this, I seek refuge in Allah from Satan
- , the accursed uh whoever turns away
- from My remembrance, uh that is the one
- , uh whoever turns away from My
- remembrance Yes. So whoever turns away
- from the Most Gracious, whoever turns
- away from Allah, yes We will appoint
- for him a devil, so he becomes his
- companion, like that. So uh how can we
- not be accompanied by Satan? Then
- always remember Allah, do dhikr to
- Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala.
- Alright
- like that.
- Hold on a moment, Ustaz. Sure.
- We already
- have a listener on the line. Let us
- greet them first. Peace be upon you,
- and Allah's mercy and blessings.
- Alright. Peace be upon you.
- Disconnected. Disconnected, sorry. Yes.
- Alright, Ustaz. My apologies. Please go
- ahead, Ustaz.
- Yes. So where were we before
- uh
- so that we are not uh
- so that we are not tempted by Satan, we
- must do a lot of dhikr to Allah.
- Do a lot of dhikr to Allah. Yes,
- earlier. So uh it is said that whoever
- turns away from remembering Allah will
- be accompanied by Satan, that is in the
- Quran.
- So, so that you are not tempted by
- Satan, then increase your dhikr to
- Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. Then, God
- willing, you will be protected by Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala. Then the second uh
- dhikr means not just uh ideally dhikr
- should be continuous, yes. How we are
- consistent in always remembering Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala. Because when uh
- people no longer uh do dhikr, then the
- heart will become hard. When the heart
- becomes uh hard, then it will be uh
- easy for Satan to approach humans, and
- at the same time uh those bad deeds are
- uh packaged by Satan as if uh they can
- be viewed as beautiful, like that. H
- because uh that dark heart, which was
- hard and could no longer remember Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala. So that is uh We
- appoint for him a devil, so he is his
- companion. Then they will always be
- accompanied by, uh, Satan, those people
- who are constantly forgetful of Allah
- subhanahu wa ta'ala.
- Wallahu a'lam.
- Alright, that is all for Imron in
- Semarang. I hope that answers your
- question, Mr. Imron. Thank you. Next,
- we move on to the next question, Ustadz
- . We have received another call.
- Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi
- wabarakatuh.
- Assalamualaikum.
- Waalaikumsalam warahmatullahi
- wabarakatuh. Speaking with
- the voice is very faint.
- Who is this?
- Hello. Hello.
- Go ahead, Brother Yusuf.
- Hello.
- Yes, sir. Yes, we have received your
- call, sir. The voice is clear now.
- Please go ahead, sir. Uh, is this with
- Ustadz Rahmatullah?
- That is correct, sir. Please go ahead,
- sir.
- I want to, I want to ask something.
- Yes.
- So, nowadays, many people seem to be
- trapped in a vicious circle, it seems.
- What kind of circle, for example, sir?
- Meanwhile, between our soul and our
- desires, the desires overpower us, you
- see. So, being trapped in that vicious
- circle is hard to escape from. I mean,
- jihad fisabilillah is clearly visible
- to the naked eye. But a vicious circle
- of desires is hard to see with the
- naked eye. So, what are some tips to
- escape that vicious circle? Because I
- see that the majority of people now are
- like that, Ustadz. For that, I ask for
- your enlightenment. What are some tips,
- Ustadz? So that humans don't remain
- that way. Assalamualaikum
- warahmatullahi wabarakatuh. Hello.
- Hello, sir. Hello. Avoiding Satan, how
- to avoid
- avoiding the deception of Satan, how,
- Ustadz? Maybe that is what I can gather
- .
- Hm.
- What are the tips, exactly? Uh Satan,
- in truth, uh, will take humans along
- with him into Hellfire. So, all vile
- and forbidden acts are packaged in such
- a way, uh, that to humans they become a
- kind of beauty that, uh adultery
- everywhere, then, uh, immorality
- rampant, that is because, uh, uh, the
- human heart that forgets Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala. When the heart is
- no longer, because the nature of the
- heart is that the soul within it is, uh
- , constantly remembering the presence
- of Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. When one
- forgets, uh, the remembrance of Allah,
- then all bad deeds will be packaged in
- such a way by Satan to become, uh, an
- act that is beautiful, looks beautiful.
- Now, that is what we must be wary of,
- yes. Many now, for example, uh, acts of
- shirk, yes.
- Yeah. Those acts of shirk are the
- footsteps of Satan. Many among us,
- especially in society, yes, society in
- this republic, uh for example, when
- there is a certain interest, a need
- where that need is very urgent, then,
- uh, humans need, uh, help. Now, the
- exit that is often taken by people, for
- example going to a shaman, to a
- paranormal, that is truly the footsteps
- of Satan. Because they think that, uh,
- the paranormal or shaman, uh, can solve
- uh, their life's problems. They believe
- it to be so. And those are truly the
- footsteps of the devil. When humans
- associate partners with Allah and
- commit polytheism, then truly Allah no
- longer provides guidance to those
- humans.
- Hmm.
- However, among the general public, such
- things are considered something normal.
- They even say, "Yes, we also pray to
- Allah as our Lord."
- Yes.
- But they also pray to others besides
- Allah. Well, *la yad'una Allah*...So,
- they don't want to just rely on Allah;
- they ask for help from others besides
- Allah as well. So, this condition,
- which is considered normal by the
- public, is truly the footsteps of the
- devil that we must be wary of. Because
- the act of polytheism is the greatest
- sin of all. And if we do not ask for
- forgiveness from Allah, then, what is
- it called? Meaning, if before the
- moment of death we have not asked for
- forgiveness from Allah, then Allah will
- not grant forgiveness to those who
- commit polytheism.
- Hmm.
- Just like Pharaoh, may he be cursed by
- Allah.
- Yes.
- When his life was already at his throat
- ,
- he started gasping.
- Well, he only then...wanted to believe
- in the God of Moses and Aaron.
- The God of the Children of Israel. So,
- Allah will no longer accept repentance
- when the soul has already reached the
- throat. Therefore, this act of
- polytheism is the primary target of the
- devil. Because when one enters even
- slightly into polytheism, the devil has
- already achieved extraordinary success.
- Meanwhile, for humans, it is considered
- something, well, considered to be
- alright. Even though for Allah, it is a
- matter of principle.
- Yeah.
- So, that is what we must be wary of.
- What are the steps of the devil that we
- must avoid so that we are saved from
- the abyss of Hell? God knows best.
- Very well. Very well. Thank you to the
- gentleman who called earlier. We
- apologize, sir. Perhaps, what is it
- called, if the answer may not have
- matched the question, but that is what
- we could grasp. Next is from Mr. Adi in
- Pasar Minggu, Ustaz. Peace be upon you,
- and Allah's mercy and blessings.
- And mercy be upon you.
- Is dhikr the primary repellent for
- magic, Ustaz? Yes, in the hadith of the
- Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant
- him peace, it is mentioned that "La
- ilaha illallah wahdahu la sharikalah,
- lahul mulku walahul hamdu, yuhyi wa
- yumit, wa huwa ala kulli shay'in qadir.
- " The Prophet said, 100, no, 200, there
- is nothing that can surpass it. Uh. So
- that dhikr, "La ilaha illallah wahdahu
- la sharikalah" and so on, tomorrow in
- the hereafter, the Prophet, may Allah
- bless him and grant him peace, said
- those who recite it will have a very
- strong light. There is no light
- stronger than those who recite dhikr
- more than others. Then the Prophet said
- that Allah will, uh, protect them from
- the temptations of the devil, including
- that magic; they will be saved from the
- devil. So, "La ilaha illallah wahdahu
- la sharikalah, lahul mulku walahul
- hamdu," and so on. Then recite prayers
- (salawat) upon the Prophet, may Allah
- bless him and grant him peace. Because
- our dhikr and prayers remain between
- the sky and the earth unless we send
- blessings upon the Prophet, peace be
- upon him. That is what is stated in the
- hadith of the Prophet, peace be upon
- him.
- And the most important thing, besides
- performing dhikr, is that we must not
- —what is it called? The matter of
- tawhid must be truly pure. That.
- Because if we commit even a little bit
- of shirk, it becomes easy for the devil
- to—what is it called? To tempt humans
- . Meaning, it must be truly pure. So
- that the devil will not be able to
- tempt the people we see in chapter 16,
- verse 99. Up to 100. Later you can look
- at it in surah An-Nahl, chapter 16,
- verses 99 and 100. I seek refuge in
- Allah from the accursed devil. Innahu
- laisa lahu sultanun 'ala alladzina
- amanu wa' ala rabbihim yatawakkalun.
- Yes, truly the devil has no sultan.
- Sultan means authority or power.
- Yes.
- So the devil has no authority over
- those who believe. Now, these are the
- ones who believe in Allah and rely on
- Him. Yes, so believe and rely on Allah.
- Innama sultanuhu 'ala alladzina
- yatawallaunahu walladzina hum bihi
- musyrikun. Indeed, the devil will have
- authority, will be able to control or
- —what is it called?
- Have power over those who make the
- devil their guardian. Meaning, for
- example, going to a shaman or psychic
- instead of turning to Allah, going to
- the psychic. So this must be pure. Yeah
- . If we do both, then the devil will be
- able to control humans, to tempt humans
- . So magic will be able to penetrate
- those who go to psychics. Walladzina
- hum bihi musyrikun. And those who
- commit shirk. This shirk is one of—
- what is it called? The devil's bait
- steps for humans. When people fall into
- shirk and make the devil their leader,
- then even though they perform dhikr "
- lailahaillallah wahdahu la syarikalah,"
- they are still committing shirk. Then
- the devil will be able to enter through
- that magic.
- Yes.
- Exactly. So for instance, they perform
- dhikr, but they feel, for example, they
- own a keris, or own a ring. "Wow, with
- this keris or ring..." We don't worship
- it, but we feel it.
- Suggestion.
- Yes. Yes, suggestion. So, there is some
- kind of power in that keris. Now, if
- shirk like that is committed, then
- magic will penetrate and enter.
- So it will have no effect, even if the
- dhikr is recited thousands of times,
- Ustaz.
- Meaning that the dhikr is just a
- camouflage, only on the lips. That is
- because the heart is still committing
- shirk.
- And the heart is still making others
- into gods besides
- besides Allah. If the condition is like
- that, then truly our dhikr, as the
- Prophet said, "Lailahaillallah wahdahu
- la syarikalah lahul mulku walahul hamdu
- ." Even if 200, say 1,000, it still
- gets penetrated by magic. Yeah. So
- indeed, the matter of tawhid must be
- truly pure.
- Yes.
- It must be pure. We must be consistent
- with the aforementioned, as people who
- believe and solely surrender ourselves
- to Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. Then, God
- willing, Allah will protect us. So if
- we have no doubts in Allah, then Allah
- will also have no doubts in helping us.
- Perhaps that is it. Wallahu a'lam (
- Allah knows best).
- Very well, Ustaz. Hopefully, that
- answers Pak Adi in Pasar Minggu. That
- was from Pak Adi or Bang Adi. We move
- to the next question, Ustaz. From Ibu
- Neliati in Pondok Kelapa.
- Assalamu'alaikum warahmatullahi
- wabarakatuh.
- Wa'alaikumussalam.
- Ustaz, isn't it true that the heart
- always wants to be close to Allah? Hmm.
- And I often hear that it is the carnal
- soul (hawa) that has desires.
- How can the heart become hardened?
- Please enlighten me.
- Yes. How can the heart become hardened?
- Yes.
- Yes.
- Let us look at Surah Al-Hadid, chapter
- 57, verse 16. A'udzubillahi
- minasy-syaitanir rajim.
- Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. Alam ya'ni
- lilladzina amanu an takhsya qulubuhum
- lidzikrillahi wa ma nazala minal haqq.
- Wala yakunu kalladzina utul-kitaba min
- qabl. Fa thala' alaihimul-amadu faqasat
- qulubuhum. Wakatsirum-minhum fasiqun.
- And many among them are transgressors.
- Has the time not come for those who
- believe that their hearts should feel
- humility at the remembrance of Allah?
- That is, to remember Allah with khushu
- '(devotion/humility). So from this
- verse, truly the purpose of the heart
- is for the dhikr (remembrance) of Allah
- , that is within the heart, and...
- performing dhikr with khushu' exists
- within the heart. And do not be like
- those who were given the Scripture
- before. Then a long period passed over
- them, so their hearts became hardened,
- and many among them became
- transgressors. This means those who
- forget dhikr for a long period of time,
- forget to, what you call it, read the
- Holy Qur'an, then our hearts will
- become hardened.
- Hmm. When it is hardened, then the
- function of the heart, which was
- originally to perform dhikr to Allah,
- is locked shut by Allah Subhanahu wa
- ta'ala. Now, because of that hardness,
- it becomes easy for the devil
- h
- to tempt humans. So, to, what you call
- it, how to make the heart return to its
- fitrah (natural state)? It was
- mentioned earlier, "an takhsya
- qulubuhum lidzikrillah."
- Yes.
- So how to make the heart perform dhikr
- to Allah with khushu '. In this verse,
- if a person does not perform dhikr to
- Allah for a very long time, if we do
- not open the Holy Qur'an for a long
- time, the heart will become hardened.
- Therefore, dhikr will soften the heart,
- providing light to the heart through
- the remembrance of Allah and the Holy
- Qur'an. Perhaps that is it. Wallahu
- a'lam.
- Very well. We still have one more
- question, Ustaz. Before we take a break
- , this next question is from Ibu Darman
- in Bekasi. Assalamu'alaikum
- warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
- Wa'alaikumussalam. Ustaz,
- I want to ask, if I want to go to a
- study group but then a guest arrives,
- is that considered a temptation from
- the devil? Yes.
- Well, if a guest arrives, for example,
- then just meet that guest; they must,
- what you call it, be honored according
- to the hadith.
- Yes.
- Whoever believes in Allah and the Last
- Day, let them honor their guest, that's
- it.
- Yeah.
- So it is not a temptation of the devil.
- In fact, in the Prophet's hadith, it is
- said that they must be honored.
- Yeah.
- Yes, a guest must be honored, that's
- what the hadith says. So it is not, not
- a temptation of the devil.
- It is not a temptation of the devil,
- right, Ustaz? Alright, Mrs. Darwah. H
- Hopefully that clarifies it, Mrs. Darma
- , it's not a demonic temptation;
- instead, we must serve guests as best
- as we can.
- Because that is part of
- in the hadith, yes, honoring guests.
- Honoring guests.
- Well, brothers and sisters who are
- blessed by Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala.
- Those were the questions we posed to
- Ustaz Rahmatullah, Mrs. Darma, then
- Bang Adi, Imron, and also Mrs. Neliati
- in Pondok Kelapa. Hopefully, they have
- all been answered, and we will take a
- break again. In the third session, we
- invite you to join us on the phone line
- at 0218451512, SMS, and also WhatsApp
- at 0811999720. Don't go anywhere, stay
- with us on Radio Silaturahim for a
- united Islam.
