- Most Merciful. All praise is due to
- Allah, Lord of the worlds. O Allah,
- bestow peace and blessings upon our
- master Muhammad and upon the family of
- our master Muhammad. Still broadcasting
- from Jalan Masjid Silaturahim number 36
- , Kalimagis, Cibur, Bekasi. Radio
- Silaturahim and also Rasil Visual for a
- united Islam. May the peace, mercy, and
- blessings of Allah be upon you.
- Brothers and sisters, may you be
- blessed by Allah. We are very happy to
- meet you again this afternoon for our
- evening study program. For this
- Saturday edition, coinciding with
- October 6, 2018, it is now the 26th day
- of Muharram 1440 Hijri. Brothers and
- sisters, we hope you are well and
- always under the protection of Allah
- Subhanahu wa Ta'ala this afternoon.
- Amen. Amen, O Lord of the worlds. And
- this afternoon, our teacher, Imam Yahya
- Syahullah Mansur, is present to provide
- his lecture, a thematic tafsir study
- for this occasion. May the peace, mercy
- , and blessings of Allah be upon you,
- Imam.
- May the peace, mercy, and blessings of
- Allah be upon you, too.
- Just arrived back from London, Imam?
- Yes.
- Indeed. Yeah. Alhamdulillah, it's a
- blessing to meet with our brothers and
- sisters on Radio Silaturahim, which is
- so loved by Allah, and also TV
- Silaturahim, which is so loved by Allah
- Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. How long were you
- there?
- A week.
- A week, right?
- Yes. Yeah.
- Attending a conference.
- An invitation from Middle East Monitor,
- or MEMO.
- This NGO works in the field of
- Palestinian liberation and humanitarian
- aid. Alhamdulillah, by Allah's destiny,
- I was the only Asian scholar invited to
- that conference.
- Alhamdulillah.
- I asked the other friends? There were
- none. Allah knows best. What is the
- reason? So this conference was
- commemorating the Oslo Accords.
- Yes.
- That.
- 25 years ago. 25 years ago, which
- turned out to be detrimental to the
- Palestinian people, and what we should
- do about this agreement. And
- alhamdulillah, in the middle of the
- conference, I was interviewed by Al
- Jazeera TV.
- About our perspective as Muslims,
- because the conference was attended by
- people from three religions: many Jews,
- and many Christians. Now, Muslims
- seemed to be a bit few. Well, from that
- small number, alhamdulillah, we were
- able to be present there. And one
- conclusion was that all of them condemn
- Israel.
- Yes.
- The Zionists specifically.
- Not just Islam, indeed. The.
- Not just Islam, we mean the Zionists.
- As for Israel, mashaAllah, that is
- actually the name of a prophet, but
- because they use it so often, the
- Prophet Israel, who is Prophet Ya'qub (
- Jacob), who should actually be
- respected, is instead often blamed.
- Even though the one at fault is not him
- , but his descendants, especially those
- who follow the Zionist movement. So,
- they all do not agree with what the
- Zionists have done by establishing the
- state of Israel and expelling the
- Palestinian people. That was, among
- other things, the conclusion of the
- conference about the Oslo Accords,
- which were harmful to the Palestinian
- people.
- Right, and God willing, brothers and
- sisters, on this afternoon's occasion,
- this might have a connection.
- God willing, I will.
- Quran Surah Fussilat verse 53, yes.
- Yes, because yesterday we were asked to
- go live.
- By Mr. Ehsan. Yes, a live report.
- But that report was around 3:00 AM
- there. Yes, 3:00. In the morning, yes.
- 3:00 in the morning. 3:00, or rather,
- if it's between 3:00 and 3:00. Yeah.
- Well, we already tried to, uh, connect.
- But apparently the signal kept dropping
- .
- It’s connected now, right?
- It’s connected now, right? Well,
- hopefully this serves as, uh, part of
- the report
- i
- for the brothers and sisters while we
- are on our, uh, da'wah journey,
- specifically attending that conference.
- That is all.
- Yeah.
- Alright, brothers and sisters, you can
- open Quran Surah Fussilat verse 53
- because this afternoon we will study
- that verse in relation to the spread of
- Islam and the proof of the Quran's
- truth.
- Right, Iman. Let’s listen to the
- presentation together, and God willing,
- in the next session, we will open a Q&A
- session. Please go ahead.
- Yes.
- Peace be upon you, and Allah's mercy
- and blessings. Indeed, all praise is
- due to Allah; we praise Him, we seek
- His help, and we seek His forgiveness,
- and we seek refuge in Allah from the
- evil of our own selves and the
- wickedness of our deeds. Whoever Allah
- guides, there is none to misguide. And
- whoever He misguides, there is none to
- guide. I bear witness that there is no
- god but Allah, alone with no partner,
- and I bear witness that Muhammad is His
- servant and messenger. Whatever Allah
- wills happens, and whatever He does not
- will, does not happen; there is no
- power nor strength except by Allah, the
- Almighty, the Exalted. To proceed.
- Allah the Exalted says in His Noble
- Book. I seek refuge in Allah from the
- accursed Satan. In the name of Allah,
- the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
- We will show them Our signs in the
- horizons and within themselves until it
- becomes clear to them that it is the
- truth. Is it not sufficient concerning
- your Lord that He is, over all things,
- a Witness? Which means, more or less:
- We will show them Our signs in all
- horizons, and within themselves. So
- that it becomes clear to them that the
- Quran is Haqq, the Quran is the truth.
- And is your Lord not sufficient to you
- that He is indeed a witness over all
- things? Surah Fussilat is the 41st
- surah, part of the Hawamim surahs.
- Meaning surahs that start with "Ha-Mim,
- " which, according to a hadith—even
- though some scholars say this hadith is
- , uh, weak—is called the adornment of
- the Quran. So, according to Imam
- Mujahid, a mufassir from the Tabi'in
- generation, Hasan al-Basri, then
- As-Sudi, they stated that what is meant
- by the signs of Allah's power that
- exist within themselves are the events
- of the Battle of Badr, the fall of
- Mecca to the Muslims, and other events
- that befell them, the disbelievers.
- Proving Allah’s help to Prophet
- Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant
- him peace, and his companions, and the
- humiliation of falsehood along with its
- armies in those events. That is the
- commentary of Ibn Kathir when
- explaining this verse. So in this verse
- , Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala states, "We
- will show Our signs." Scholars state
- that Allah’s signs are divided into
- two. First, the Qawliyyah signs, signs
- that we can read in the Quran, or often
- also referred to as the Quranic signs.
- Then the second, the Kawniyyah signs,
- signs that are spread across this
- universe. Signs are symbols of the
- greatness of Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala.
- And praise be to God, on our journey to
- London, we witnessed evidence of the
- truth of God's verses. And what is that
- ? The spread of Islam there. Indeed,
- the spread of Islam or the victory of
- Islam is an inevitability that cannot
- be denied. And the verses of the Quran
- state this. Among them are those found
- in Surah At-Tawbah, verses 32 and 33.
- Then it is repeated by Allah Subhanahu
- wa ta'ala in Surah As-Saff, verses 8
- and 9. Allah says, I seek refuge in
- Allah from the accursed Satan. They
- intend to extinguish the light of Allah
- with their mouths, but Allah refuses
- except to perfect His light, although
- the disbelievers dislike it. It is He
- who sent His messenger with guidance
- and the religion of truth to manifest
- it over all religion, although they who
- associate others with Allah dislike it.
- Which means they want to extinguish the
- light or the religion of Allah with
- their mouths, but Allah refuses.
- Instead, Allah wills to perfect His
- light even though the disbelievers do
- not like it. He is the one who sent His
- messenger with guidance, meaning the
- Quran and the true religion, to be
- exalted over all other religions even
- though the polytheists dislike it. This
- is repeated again by Allah in Surah
- As-Saff, which I just read, which means
- they want to extinguish the light of
- Allah, the light or religion of Allah
- with their mouths. But Allah persists
- in perfecting His light even though the
- disbelievers hate it. He is the one who
- sent His messenger with guidance and
- the true religion to prevail over all
- religions even though the polytheists
- dislike it. There are two words
- mentioned by Allah here in At-Tawbah
- verse 33 and As-Saff verse 9, namely "
- liyuzhihiru aladdini kullihi." So that
- Allah may make the religion of Islam
- prevail over all religions. In Surah
- At-Tawbah, it is closed with "walau
- karihal kafirun." Even though the
- disbelievers do not like it. In Surah
- As-Saff, it is closed with, or rather,
- I mean, even though the disbelievers;
- in Surah At-Tawbah it ends with "walau
- karihal kafirun." Then in Surah As-Saff
- , it ends with "walau karihal mushrikun
- ." Why are the disbelievers mentioned
- there in Surah As-Saff? We mean in
- Surah At-Tawbah, those who are
- displeased are the disbelievers. While
- in Surah As-Saff, it is mentioned that
- those who are displeased are the
- polytheists. Although both are actually
- the same, so Al-Maraghi explains that
- those who do not like the spread of
- Islam are the disbelievers and also the
- polytheists. Even though the
- polytheists and the disbelievers do not
- like the spread of Islam and the
- victory of Islam over other religions,
- it will surely happen. And this is what
- we have partly seen regarding the
- growth of the Islamic religion in
- Europe, especially in England. Brothers
- and sisters, the Muslim population is
- increasing sharply in Europe. More and
- more mosques are being built and filled
- with worshippers. Rapid development is
- clearly visible in cities in England,
- including its capital, London.
- Islamization is creeping into London
- and continues to progress. Even
- hundreds of Sharia courts are operating
- in London. Mosques are being opened.
- Meanwhile, churches that have stood for
- hundreds of years are closing due to a
- lack of congregants. In 2001, there
- were approximately 432 new mosques
- built. Then 500 churches closed because
- there were no worshippers. We had the
- chance to witness some churches that
- indeed had no The congregation, no one
- came. Even though it was clearly posted
- there. Worship times, today, and so on.
- But they have indeed lost their
- followers. A journalist stated that
- London is more Islamic than many Muslim
- countries combined. This is one of the
- Islamic preachers now leading "
- Londonistan." Even a Nobel laureate
- Wole Soyinka stated that England is a
- pit for Islamists. Said the Muslim
- mayor of London. Praise be to God, the
- mayor is now a Muslim. And there are
- several mayors, between 5 to 8 mayors
- in Great Britain, who are Muslim. One
- of them is the current mayor of London,
- Sadiq Khan, who said terrorism cannot
- withstand the multiculturalism in
- London. So, this is the development of
- Islam in parts of the world, especially
- what I saw in London above all else. As
- I mentioned earlier, many churches are
- closed and then many are bought by
- Muslims to be turned into mosques, like
- Hayat United Church, which was bought
- by the Egyptian community to be
- converted into a mosque. St. Peter's
- Church has been converted into the
- Medina Mosque. Its name is the Medina
- Mosque. Then, the Brick Lane Mosque was
- built on a Methodist church. It’s not
- just the buildings that have changed,
- brothers, but the people too. I even
- visited a mosque during Dhuhr prayer
- that day. My goodness, the congregation
- was full like Friday prayers here. And
- when I asked, "What about Friday
- prayers? It must overflow into the
- streets?" Near the mosque, there used
- to be a synagogue, but because there
- were no occupants, that synagogue was a
- place of worship for Jewish people.
- Then, it was eventually sold to the
- mosque's foundation and is now used as
- a Zakat house. That, praise be to God,
- I witnessed myself. Now, St. Jude's
- Church, which was designed for 1,230
- worshippers, currently only contains
- about 20 people, most of whom are
- elderly. And there is much more that
- proves that Islam was brought by Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala. Liyuzhirahu
- aladini kullihi walau karihal kafirun
- walau karihal musyrikun. Then also, if
- we were just talking about mosques that
- were once churches. I mean, those that
- were once mosques and converted into
- churches. Then also about the growth of
- Muslims, the number of Muslims that is
- now continuing to grow. In fact, in
- 2020, it was estimated that the number
- of Muslims attending prayer would reach
- [a certain figure] because they usually
- have quite precise data. It has been
- calculated. So by 2020, which is just a
- few years away, the number of people
- attending congregational prayer will
- reach nearly 1 million, or 683,000.
- Meanwhile, the number of Christians
- attending weekly mass will drop to
- 679,000. Even though they are currently
- the majority in England. Now, besides
- that, we see, we see for ourselves the
- Muslim children there are also quite
- diligent in studying religion. In fact,
- the name Muhammad is now one of the
- most popular names. It has surpassed
- the name William. For children in
- England. For males, it is certainly
- more common to use the name Muhammad
- than the name William. The number one
- most popular name in England is
- Muhammad. Displacing the name William.
- Well, all of this shows that Islam will
- indeed continue to grow there. That is
- what Allah stated in the Qur'an, that
- the Qur'an is indeed the truth, "Sanuri
- ayatina fil-afaqi wa fi anfusihim"(We
- will show them Our signs in the
- horizons and within themselves), that
- the Qur'an is the truth. Including the
- truth of the verses I just recited,
- Surah At-Tawbah, verse 32 and 33, and
- As-Saff, 8 and 9, that Islam will
- triumph. Besides that, besides the
- children we see, there are more and
- more Muslims, Muslim children.
- Meanwhile, excuse me, I rarely see
- native English people bringing their
- children because apparently, they no
- longer want to have children. I asked
- them, when I was there, why don't you
- have children? Because they feel
- children are a hassle. They are
- bothered by children, let alone the
- thought of pregnancy. During the week I
- was there, I saw very few, maybe I only
- saw two people who looked, forgive me,
- who looked visibly pregnant. This also
- shows that the future of Islam will be
- better in these places. In fact,
- several petitions have been submitted
- so that the adhan is allowed to be
- broadcasted, because until now, the
- adhan is only heard inside. And this,
- well, perhaps it would be the opposite
- if that happened. But God willing, it
- will not happen when there is a draft
- law here trying to regulate the adhan
- so that it does not come out of the
- mosque, even if that were true. But it
- turns out it is not the case in England
- . According to news in Birmingham, the
- sky in Birmingham is already decorated
- with mosque minarets, and it is likely
- the adhan will soon be able to ring out
- and color the skies of England.
- Brothers and sisters, who are truly
- beloved by Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala.
- Of course, this makes us all more
- convinced that the Qur'an is true. The
- Qur'an which states that "li-yuzhirahu
- 'ala ad-dini kullihi," Allah will make
- Islam triumph over all other religions,
- that is very evident. This is not just
- in England, but also in several Western
- countries, for example in America. It
- is the same there. The Muslim community
- . There, it is mentioned in several
- writings from, thank God, Ustaz Syamsi
- Ali, whose voice we often hear through
- this Silaturahim radio. He reported
- that in America, churches, schools, and
- government agencies have opened their
- doors for mosque imams to give lectures
- about Islam. Mosques are increasingly
- being visited by non-Muslims. He noted
- in his institution, for the last 2
- months, not yet reporting on 2012,
- roughly every month 17 people declared
- their conversion to Islam. Well, this
- positive trend regarding the
- development of Islam continues, and
- even on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, a
- report released sourced from the Pew
- Research Center in America. that for
- the next 40 years, the religions with
- the most followers will be Islam and
- Christianity. In America, Islam is
- becoming the fastest-growing religion,
- starting from 1.6 billion in 2010, set
- to reach 2.76 billion followers by the
- year 2050. Thus, the number of Muslims
- will account for one-third of the
- world's population. As for Christianity
- , its growth will be significant, but
- it will not exceed the growth of Islam.
- In fact, by the year for the first time
- in history, the number of Muslims is
- likely to surpass the number of
- Christians. Now, this victory of the
- Muslim community is clearly part of the
- truth of the Qur'an, annahul haq. That
- the Qur'an is the truth. This victory
- of Islam is a phenomenon and a shared
- responsibility for us all to continue
- to uphold. Will it come on its own?
- Brothers and sisters beloved by Allah.
- No. This is part of our effort. So,
- even though Allah has promised that
- Islam will surely triumph and spread,
- we must not sit idly by and do nothing;
- we cannot. Now, what I see in England
- generally, and London in particular, is
- that the spread of Islam occurs in
- three stages. First, the arrival of
- people from outside England, with the
- average population coming from India or
- Bangladesh. So much so that the current
- mayor is a descendant of Pakistan—I
- mean, from Pakistan. Also, many
- Palestinians come there, and there are
- many South African Muslims there as
- well. So, through relocation and
- immigration, Islam is being spread
- there. Then the second, through the
- many people who travel to England for
- their studies. So, it is through the
- students who come from Muslim countries
- and demonstrate the teachings of Islam.
- to them. What attracts them most is the
- teaching of Islam that shows mercy and
- displays compassion. Not an Islam that
- is harsh or associated with terrorism
- and the like. Well, there was once an
- explosion in a place where I happened
- to be staying that night, although the
- bombing had occurred some years—it
- was said to have happened where I
- stayed, an explosion took place there.
- Then all Muslims in England felt the
- impact. Therefore, as mentioned earlier
- by the Mayor of London, England is a
- multicultural country, meaning it is a
- place where residents have various
- religions. Now, the terrorists there
- cause consequences that affect other
- Muslims. They are more accepting of an
- Islam that is presented as a mercy to
- all creation. In a dialogue with
- several congress participants,
- especially women who were certainly
- non-Muslims, they asked me, "What is
- Islam's view on gender?" I told them
- that since the beginning, Islam has
- valued women. I mentioned how in the
- Qur'an there is a surah called Surah
- An-Nisa. Furthermore, the first person
- to embrace Islam was a woman, namely
- Khadijah. Even the first martyr in
- Islam was a woman, namely Sumayyah. The
- mother of, uh, Yasir's companion. And
- then also his family, the family of
- Yasir. We all mean, uh, Usama, meaning
- here, uh, his mother, the family of
- Yasir, they were indeed, uh, tortured
- by the disbelievers at that time, so
- they eventually became victims of that
- torture. The first person to become a
- martyr was a woman, not a girl. Now,
- this shows that Islam highly values
- women. Then I also explain how
- inheritance is divided in Islam. The
- language, if we look at it briefly, it
- seems as if the ones given a larger
- share are women. But actually, that is
- not the case. If we look at it, it is
- actually the women who get more. Why?
- Because they have no responsibility to
- support the family. While men, even
- though they appear to get a larger
- share, their responsibilities are
- greater. For example, if my wife gets
- an inheritance of X million, she is not
- obligated to support me as her husband,
- but if I get an inheritance of X
- million. I am obligated to support my
- wife and also my children and so on. In
- the end, they could accept it. So, with
- Islam appearing as a mercy to all,
- which is shown in a way that is
- merciful, God willing, they will accept
- it more than an Islam shown through
- violence. That is the second way,
- through the path of, uh, knowledge. Uh,
- then the third, their participation in
- fields that can indeed support the
- spread of Islam. For example, in sports
- and so on. There are many Muslims who,
- because they are influenced by their
- activities, then they convert to Islam.
- Now, this is one of the signs of the
- truth. of the Islamic religion. So
- Islam will surely spread. But once
- again, it is not just waited for, but
- must be strived for. Now, how can we
- spread Islam and what efforts must we
- make? This is what Allah Subhanahu wa
- ta'ala reminds us of. That the Qur'an
- can be used as a tool to spread Islam,
- which is primarily through the Qur'an.
- By internalizing the Qur'an and doing
- this continuously, God willing, people
- will be attracted. We all know how,
- since the beginning of the development
- of Islam. That the Prophet sallallahu
- alaihi wasallam preached with the
- Qur'an, not with anything else. The
- Jihad of the Prophet sallallahu alaihi
- wasallam was with the Qur'an. As for
- the subsequent wars and such, that, uh,
- was only because it was forced.
- Therefore, it is very incorrect to say
- that Islam was spread by war. Now, for
- that, God willing, we will continue
- after the following break. Wallahualam.
- Alright, alhamdulillah. Brothers and
- sisters who are blessed by Allah, we
- will continue after the break, yes. Uh,
- the presentation delivered by Imam Yas
- Mansur is still, uh, explaining how
- Islam is spreading on the European
- continent, especially in the United
- Kingdom, brothers and sisters. And
- brothers and sisters, don't forget that
- after the presentation is finished, we
- invite your participation, brothers and
- sisters, to submit questions, responses
- , or comments regarding this thematic
- tafsir study. Yes, it relates to the
- thematic interpretation of Surah
- Fussilat, verse 53. Regarding the
- spread of Islam, which serves as proof
- of the Quran's truth. Please feel free
- to send your text messages to 081199720
- . Or call our interactive line at
- 0218451512. We will be back right after
- these messages.
