- Radio Silaturahim and Rasul TV for a
- unified Islam, for a united Indonesia.
- Praise be to God, brothers and sisters,
- may God have mercy on you. We meet
- again tonight for the QBU reflection
- program with Ustadz Rahmatullah, on the
- theme of being with God and vanishing
- from the sight of creatures, according
- to Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani. And
- praise be to God, brothers and sisters,
- we have now reached the Q&A session,
- and thankfully, many questions have
- already come in to us, Ustadz. The
- first one is from Mr. Utsman in Depok,
- Ustadz. Mr. Utsman in Depok, yes.
- Yes. Peace be upon you, and God's mercy
- and blessings, Ustadz.
- And peace be upon you, and God's mercy
- and blessings.
- I would like to ask, who was Sheikh
- Abdul Qadir Jilani, and did he live
- during the time of the Prophet or after
- the Prophet, Ustadz?
- Yes, very well, thank you. Who was
- Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani? Sheikh Abdul
- Qadir Jilani was an expert in Sufism.
- An expert in Sufism. He was someone who
- was, what should I call it? He was Ahlu
- Sunnah wal Jama'ah. He was a Sufi
- master who never deviated even slightly
- from the Quran and the Sunnah of the
- Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.
- Glory be to God. Yes. And Sheikh Abdul
- Qadir Jilani was...The father of Sheikh
- Abdul Qadir Jilani...He was a
- descendant of Hasan, may God be pleased
- with him. Hasan was the Prophet's
- grandson, and the mother of Sheikh
- Abdul Qadir Jilani was also a
- descendant of Hussein, may God be
- pleased with him. Hasan and Hussein
- were brothers, the sons of Fatimah, may
- God be pleased with her, the most
- beloved granddaughter of the Prophet.
- So, Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani was truly
- a descendant of the Prophet, since he
- came from the lineage of both Hasan and
- Hussein. Furthermore, Sheikh Abdul
- Qadir Jilani was...Ibn Taymiyyah was
- someone who held the highest
- appreciation for Sheikh Abdul Qadir
- Jilani. Even the miracles possessed by
- Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani...Were
- acknowledged by Ibn Taymiyyah. We know
- that Ibn Taymiyyah was a very critical
- scholar. And Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani
- was a Sufi master. A Sufi expert whose
- teachings were entirely based on the
- Quran and Sunnah. So, regarding your
- question about whether he lived before
- or after the Prophet, Sheikh Abdul
- Qadir Jilani was actually a descendant
- of the Prophet through the lineage of
- Hasan and Hussein. His father was from
- the Hasan line, and his mother was from
- the Hussein line. So it is, what do you
- call it? A perfect cycle, indeed. And
- he was an exceptionally learned scholar
- . God.
- And here in Indonesia, Sheikh Abdul
- Qadir is very popular, and his pieces
- of advice are very moving. Because when
- someone speaks about Ihsan, exploring
- or deepening the understanding of Ihsan
- ...Only a Sufi expert can truly delve
- into the details of Ihsan down to the
- smallest aspects. Well, for example,
- ihsan is a movement of the soul that
- exists deep within the heart. As
- mentioned earlier by Sheikh Abdul Qadir
- al-Jailani, how can we be with Allah
- continuously and steadfastly? What does
- that mean? How do we make it continuous
- ? It means we must guard the soul that
- resides deep within our hearts. Do not
- let it lose its state of remembrance.
- Because when we perform dhikr, bringing
- Allah into our presence, that is when
- Allah is with us. However, when we have
- forgotten Allah, as it is said, "
- whoever turns away from the remembrance
- of the Most Merciful," meaning Allah. "
- We appoint for him a devil." So, We
- will appoint a devil for him, and that
- devil will always be with the person
- who never remembers Allah. Therefore,
- when remembering Allah, a servant will
- always be together with Allah. When a
- servant has forgotten Allah, then that
- servant will always be together with
- the devil. So, there are only two
- choices. If you remember Him, you are
- close to Allah; if you forget Him, you
- are with the devil. Like that. So it is
- said here that Sheikh Abdul Qadir
- explains how to maintain this
- togetherness with Allah. Now, how do we
- maintain it? Yes, it must be through
- the aforementioned dhikr. It was said
- earlier, "Seek help through patience
- and prayer," make patience and prayer
- your helpers. Whereas the essence of
- prayer, if we look at Surah Taha,
- chapter 20, verse 14, states the
- following. I seek refuge in Allah from
- the accursed Satan. "Verily, I am Allah
- , there is no god but Me." So Allah
- says, "Verily, I am Allah.""There is no
- god but Me." There is no god, no Lord
- except Me. Allah says, "Worship Me."
- Worship Me. "And establish prayer for
- My remembrance." Worship Me. And
- establish prayer to remember Me. So
- Allah commands us to worship Him. How
- do we worship Allah? By establishing
- prayer to remember Me. So, if it was
- said earlier to seek help through
- patience and prayer. The essence of
- prayer is remembering Allah. Thus, when
- a person is in prayer and is neglectful
- of Allah, Allah says, "Woe to those who
- pray, who are heedless of their prayer.
- " Woe to those who pray, because during
- that prayer, their hearts are heedless.
- So, the tongue says "Allahu Akbar," but
- the mind is everywhere else. Ah, that
- is what Allah calls "Woe to those who
- pray." Therefore, dhikr, bringing Allah
- into one's presence at the level of
- ihsan, is truly the essence of being
- with Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. That is
- what is meant by Sheikh Abdul Qadir,
- how to make that togetherness with
- Allah continuous and steadfast. So, the
- remembrance of Allah is the cause for a
- servant to always be with Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala. So with that, what
- is it called? It is truly through dhikr
- that Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala will
- always be with us, perhaps that is it.
- Wallahu'alam (Allah knows best). Yes,
- that concludes Mr. Osman in Depok,
- whose question has been answered by the
- Ustaz this evening. Next, there is a
- question from Mr. Ahmad, Ustaz, in
- Jatulo, Tomang. Assalamu'alaikum
- warahmatullahi wabarakatuh, Ustaz.
- Wa'alaikumussalam warahmatullahi
- wabarakatuh.
- How can one cultivate a humble attitude
- (tawadu) for those who strive for
- excellence (muhsinin)? For your
- enlightenment. Thank you, Ustaz.
- Yes. Uh, how to, uh, possess, uh, an
- attitude of humility, yes. Tawadu means
- to be humble. So, uh, what is it called
- ? If we look at, uh, Surah, uh,
- Al-Furqan, yes, verse 63, yes, sir.
- A'udzubillahi minasyaitanirrajim. Wa '
- ibadur-rahmanilladzina yamsyuna'
- alal-ardi haunan wa idza
- khathabahumul-jahiluna qalu salama. And
- the servants of the Most Merciful are
- those who walk upon the earth with
- humility. Wa idza
- khathabahumul-jahiluna qalu salama.
- When the ignorant people mock or
- address them, they respond with words
- that contain peace. So, humility in
- this case truly means being humble
- before Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. Then,
- uh, of course, this humility before
- Allah is actually, uh, about how the
- soul can become humble. Now, for the
- soul to be humble, then consistency in
- dhikr to Allah is what we must truly
- maintain. Because when, uh, our soul no
- longer engages in dhikr to Allah, then
- what will control the soul is desires (
- hawa). Now, if desires control the soul
- , it is difficult for a person to be
- humble. Yes. Uh, humble, yes, not
- inferior, yes.
- So, being humble means, uh, a person
- feels and senses that they are lowly
- before Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. Of
- course, this kind of humility can truly
- be enjoyed when we engage in dhikr to
- Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala at the level
- of ihsan. So, uh, it is as if we see
- Allah, we see the greatness of Allah,
- we see the majesty of Allah. Now, as if
- we see Allah. While we are weak people,
- lowly people. Now, we perform dhikr, we
- praise Allah. Subhanallah. Glory be to
- You, O Allah. You are the Supreme Being
- , You are Most Holy. While I am Your
- weak servant, full of sins, unclean. O
- Allah, if You, uh, do not wish to
- purify us, then we would be among, uh,
- Your lowest, most wretched servants.
- Alhamdulillah. All praise is due to You
- , O Allah. You are the Being worthy of
- praise. You are the Supreme Being,
- worthy of praise. You are the
- Praiseworthy Being. While this servant
- of Yours is someone who is not
- praiseworthy, O Allah. Maqaman mahmuda
- (a praiseworthy station). Therefore, O
- Allah, raise us, Your weak servants, to
- honorable stations. So that such dhikr
- is truly, uh, a form of, uh, soul
- communication from the deepest depths
- of the heart. Meaning, we are speaking
- with Allah. Now, that is truly what is
- meant by ihsan. And when that kind of
- ihsan can be practiced consistently,
- automatically that person will be
- humble, automatically they will be
- patient, and automatically they will
- put their trust in Allah. So, there
- will be many branches resulting from
- practicing dhikr at the level of ihsan.
- That is perhaps all, and Allah knows
- best. Yes. Alright, thank you Ustaz for
- the answer, and we will now move on to
- the Cikupa area. We have a question
- from Mr. Agung in Cikupa, Ustaz.
- Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi
- wabarakatuh, Ustaz.
- Waalaikumsalam warahmatullahi
- wabarakatuh.
- What are the tips for us to be
- consistent in reaching the level of
- ihsan, Ustaz?
- Yes, very well. Uh, thank you. Uh. That
- is a very good question. How can we
- stay consistent at the level of ihsan?
- Yes. Hmm.
- Uh, of course, it certainly requires,
- uh, what you might call a struggle.
- Because as it was said earlier,
- uh, in Surah Al-Ankabut, Surah, uh, 29,
- verse 69, "Walladzina jahadu fina
- lanahdiannahum subulana wa innallaha
- lamaal muhsinin." Uh, those who strive
- in seeking My path, surely I will guide
- them to My ways. Says Allah. "Wa
- innallaha lamaal muhsinin." And indeed,
- Allah is surely with the muhsinin (
- those who do good). So here, to be able
- to reach the level of the muhsinin, it
- was said that it truly requires a
- struggle.
- A struggle with what? The soul. This
- soul must struggle against the desires
- that are within, uh, what do you call
- it? Our body. So, "Wa amma man khafa
- maqoma robbihi wa nahan-nafsa 'anil
- hawa." Those who fear the majesty of
- their Lord. "Wa nahan-nafsa' anil hawa.
- " Now, that soul is able to control its
- desires. "Fa innal jannata hiyal ma'wa.
- " Then surely, uh, paradise is their
- dwelling place. Meaning, when the soul
- can control its worldly desires, then,
- uh, that soul will be at peace, that
- soul will live comfortably, and that
- soul will always be with Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala. Therefore, in this
- way, surely, uh, what do you call it?
- To maintain this level of ihsan, one
- must maintain their deeds, especially
- the sunnah deeds. Hmm.
- If it is the obligatory deeds, perhaps
- there is no need to discuss them.
- Meaning, that is already a matter of "
- we hear and we obey." So, for example,
- uh, the five daily prayers,
- obligatory prayers must be done at the
- beginning of their time,
- right? Then, it must be followed by the
- sunnah rawatib prayers, for example,
- the 12 rak'ahs. Then one can perform
- the Duha prayer. Then, uh, a person of
- ihsan must perform night prayers,
- yes, qiyamulail. Because if we look,
- for example, here we look at, uh, Surah
- Adh-Dhariyat, Surah 51, at verse, uh,
- 15 through 18. How it truly relates to
- ihsan, since the question earlier was
- about ihsan, right?
- Yes. The question is about ihsan. So,
- uh, let us look at Surah 51, verses 15
- through 16 to 18. It reads like this.
- Auzubillahiminasyaitanirrajim. "Innal
- muttaqina fi jannatin wa 'uyun." Indeed
- , the righteous are within gardens and
- springs. Uh, they are receiving what
- their Lord has given them. "Innahum
- qobla dhalika muhsinin." Indeed, they
- were, before that, muhsinin (people of
- ihsan).
- Those who practice ihsan, yes. The
- Muhsinin. Minahun. They sleep very
- little at night. What does that mean?
- They do not spend the whole night
- sleeping. It means a portion of their
- time is used for prayer, "wabil
- asharihum yastaghfirun." And at the
- time of sahur (dawn), they seek
- forgiveness. So, what does this mean
- here? There is a connection between
- ihsan or the muhsinin and night prayer.
- Or in other words, if you want to
- become a muhsin, how do you maintain
- the consistency (istiqamah) of the
- muhsinin? Then one must perform
- qiamulail, the night prayer. Then at
- the time of sahur, seek forgiveness,
- ask for much forgiveness from Allah
- Subhanahu wa Ta'ala.
- Astagfirullahaladzim.
- Astagfirullahaladzim. So that
- consistency is qiamulail. Then, Duha
- prayer, performing obligatory prayers
- on time, sunnah rawatib prayers, and
- Salat Tasbih. These are deeds that we
- must perform continuously, they cannot
- be inconsistent because, what should I
- say? If they are inconsistent, the
- light will diminish.
- Because the question earlier was how to
- maintain that? It means how can Allah
- Subhanahu wa Ta'ala essentially always
- send light into our souls. Now, because
- that is what we want to maintain, those
- deeds must be preserved. Then secondly,
- besides the obligatory deeds, night
- prayer, and all that we mentioned, the
- most important thing is "alladzina
- yadzkurunallaha qiyaman wa qu'udan wa'
- ala junubihim." That is to perform
- dhikr while standing, while sitting,
- and while lying down. So, what does
- that mean? Dhikr is continuous. It does
- not mean, for example, just doing dhikr
- and praying after night prayer, and
- then stopping after that. That is not
- the meaning. Now, because we are
- maintaining consistency to always
- remain at the level of ihsan. Then that
- dhikr is the key. There are actually
- two types of dhikr: absolute dhikr and
- restricted dhikr (muqayyad). Dhikr that
- has a set number and time. While
- absolute dhikr is continuous
- remembrance. Yes. Yes. Every breath in
- and out should be accompanied by always
- remembering Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala.
- So that is one way to maintain how the
- presence of ihsan is always with us.
- Perhaps that is all, wallahu a'lam.
- Yes. Thank you, Ustaz, for the answer
- earlier to the question from Ibu Agung
- in Cikupa. And next, Ustaz, there is a
- question from Umi Mita. Ustaz, who
- would like to ask. Assalamu'alaikum
- warahmatullahi wabarakatuh, Ustaz.
- Wa'alaikumussalam warahmatullahi
- wabarakatuh.
- When we experience a tragedy, we surely
- try to be sincere (ikhlas). Because I
- think this is the best from Allah
- Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. Sometimes there
- are people who visit to offer
- condolences,
- and some say, "Why is it like this, why
- is it like that." Now, how is that,
- Ustaz? Dealing with things like that
- can become an obstacle in seeking that
- sincerity itself.
- Yes, that is exactly it. Therefore,
- lailahaillallah, there is no...Only
- Allah exists. How is our closeness with
- Allah? The creation does not exist.
- Right? Because truly, what is it called
- ? On one hand, we are commanded by
- Allah to maintain ties with our
- brothers and sisters. But on the other
- hand, when we communicate with them and
- their level of understanding is not the
- same, what they say is often far from
- what Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala actually
- intends. Therefore, as mentioned in
- Surah Al-Kahfi, chapter 18, verse 28: "
- Wastabir nafsaka ma'alladhina yad'una
- rabbahum bil-ghadati wal- 'ashiyyi
- yuriduna wajhah.""And keep yourself
- patient with those who call upon their
- Lord in the morning and the evening."
- This means we are commanded by Allah to
- guard our environment. That environment
- should always be with those who are
- experts in dhikr. So, with that, the
- soul will become increasingly firm. But
- when we have been steadfast, and then
- interact with other brothers whose
- conversations are, let's say, not
- Islamic. Why does it happen like that?
- Because truly,
- people who don't really know Allah are
- like that.
- Whereas we understand that everything
- happening on this earth is the work of
- Allah. Even a leaf falling in the
- middle of the night, unknown to anyone.
- It is all by the will of Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala. So, the level of
- ihsan will bring about such a feeling.
- That everything is truly sent down by
- Allah. So, if Allah is the one who sent
- it, is it appropriate for us to still
- complain?
- Right? Therefore, that is what is
- called patience.
- Meanwhile, we want to move toward Allah
- . We strive with all our might to love
- Allah and for Allah to love us. So,
- when Allah tests us, are we still
- capable of complaining? Because Allah
- will ask, "Am hasibtum antadkhulul
- jannah?" Do you think that you will
- enter paradise? Allah says, whereas I
- do not know yet, I am testing you. I do
- not know yet whether you are patient or
- not. That is where the level of ihsan
- is needed, to be always together with
- Allah, so when the rain of trials falls
- , we are ready because we are always
- with Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. Because
- if we understand, disasters and trials
- are, in essence, created beings.
- Meaning, they are things created by
- Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. When that
- trial befalls us, while we are together
- with Allah—the One who created the
- trial—God willing, Allah will give us
- steadfastness. Thus, it is fitting that
- Allah says in the Qur'an, "Wa man
- yattaqillaha yaj'al lahu...""...
- makhraja." Whoever fears Allah, then
- Allah will provide a way out from the
- difficulties being faced. "Wa yarzuqhu
- min haithu la yahtasib." And Allah will
- provide sustenance from unexpected
- sources.
- Therefore, being with Allah in this way
- is an extraordinary joy of life.
- Perhaps that is it. Wallahu A'lam.
- Subhanallah, what an answer.
- Subhanallah. And next, Ustaz, there is
- a question from number 2391.
- Assalamu'alaikum warahmatullahi
- wabarakatuh, Ustaz.
- Wa'alaikumussalam warahmatullahi
- wabarakatuh.
- At the end of Surah Al-Ankabut,'
- muhsinin 'can be translated as Ihsan
- and also as people who always do good.
- It is so wonderful for me to be able to
- listen to this Sufism study, Ustaz.
- Yes.
- How do you explain that, Ustaz?
- Yes.
- Yes. Ihsan is the act, and the person
- who performs it is called a' muhsin '.
- The plural is' muhsinin '. So, what is
- it called?' Muhsinin 'or Ihsan is......
- the highest level of faith.
- At the same time, Ihsan is a life
- solution.
- While humans will be tested by Allah
- and will face various difficulties.
- Especially in this modern era, where
- the challenges are overwhelming. So if
- we do not strive to achieve this Ihsan,
- life will become fatal. Many people are
- ...what's it called? Failing in their
- lives because they are mostly chasing
- worldly life. While when facing various
- difficulties, they do not have the
- power to overcome them. The power comes
- from that level of Ihsan. Therefore,
- Ihsan should be made a target before we
- are taken by the Angel of Death.
- Perhaps that is it. Wallahu A'lam.
- Giving a response, Ustaz.
- Yes.
- From the gentleman in Jakarta. How
- about what was explained earlier
- regarding prayer times, tahajud,
- rawatib, and so on.
- Yes. So, let me comment on this.
- Please, Ustaz.
- Uh...Sufi scholars say that current
- issues—especially since there is a
- sort of grand design—
- Yes. There is a grand plan by the
- infidels, for example, narcotics,
- lesbianism, homosexuality, and so on;
- they are truly meant to destroy
- humanity.
- The question is, how do we face such
- things? I am very impressed by what was
- conveyed by the scholar Said Hawwa.
- Said Hawwa is a scholar from Syria. He
- said it is impossible for such complex
- life problems
- to be faced simply by reading books or
- listening to sermons. It is impossible.
- What can solve all of that is this
- level of Ihsan. Because through this
- level of Ihsan, a servant will be
- granted an extraordinary sense of joy.
- At the same time, the soul will be
- awakened.
- Then, Allah grants light to that soul.
- And that soul is what can control human
- desires. While desires are the source
- of human ailments. Therefore, the
- solution is Ihsan.
- Not anything else. Meaning it is not
- enough if you only, for example, attend
- a study circle. Or only just listen.
- What does it mean? Sufism must be
- practiced.
- Practice how the soul, um, what do you
- call it? Trains itself to communicate
- with Allah. Then Allah grants light,
- cleanses our souls, gives us strength,
- so we are not weak, not afraid, and
- never grieve. Well, those kinds of
- strengths are truly only obtained at
- the level of ihsan. Huh. Thus, for
- Muslims themselves, regardless of how
- grand the infidels' plans are to
- destroy the Ummah, there is truly no
- need to fear. Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala
- has already provided a truly
- extraordinary recipe. That ihsan is
- truly the solution to life.
- Because ihsan is the highest level of
- faith.
- Subhanallah.
- There is nothing higher than ihsan. Yes
- , the Prophet said the lowest level of
- faith is removing thorns from the road,
- and the highest is lailahaillallah.
- What does that mean? There is nothing.
- There is only Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala
- . So, the feeling of how only Allah
- exists can only be enjoyed when a
- person practices dhikr at the level of
- ihsan.
- Now, that is truly the solution to life
- ,
- so what might have seemed bombastic,
- for example, homosexuality or drugs,
- people might think that through these,
- we would be destroyed. Oh, no. Yes,
- Allah has provided an antidote that is
- truly extraordinary. What is it? Ihsan
- itself,
- yes. Not just ihsan, but Islam, faith,
- and ihsan. These three pillars.
- So with that, um, what do you call it?
- We must make ihsan our target in this
- life. Don't let us, um, what do you
- call it? Be taken by the Angel of Death
- before reaching that level. Because
- this is truly the solution to life that
- will also lead humans to safety in this
- world and the hereafter. That is it.
- My brothers and sisters in faith, may
- Allah have mercy on you. Several
- questions have already been answered by
- the Ustaz, but we will take a short
- break soon and then answer more of the
- many questions that have arrived at our
- office. May Allah have mercy on you,
- those who wish to interact with us
- tonight on the program "Renungan Qolbu"
- with Ustaz Rahmatullah this evening.
- But we will return after the following
- nasyid break.
