- lam yakun la haula wala quwwata illa
- billahil aliyil adzim amma ba '.
- Brotherhood and sisters who are very
- loved by Allah. Subhanahu wa taala.
- Alhamdulillah, this afternoon we can
- once again get together through the
- study of Maudui interpretation, which
- on this afternoon I will convey a very
- short sentence but God willing, it is
- very deep. its meaning and
- understanding. That is the greatness of
- the Quran, as found in Surah Al-Baqarah
- 187, which reads: "
- Azubillahiminasyaitanirrajim. Hunna
- libasul lakum wa antum libasul lahun."
- Your wives are a garment for you, and
- you are a garment for them. This verse
- is included in a series of verses about
- the Ramadan fast, which we will soon
- observe. Perhaps it won't be another
- month. Yes. Because we have entered the
- month of Sha'ban now. And we remind you
- that this month of Sha'ban is a month
- full of glory. One of them is the month
- of preparation for Ramadan. Ramadan is
- a month of reaping rewards. There are
- many deeds that are multiplied in
- reward. Therefore, Ramadan is a month
- of good deeds. We are encouraged to
- increase our reading of the Quran,
- perform Tahajud prayers, perform
- sadaqah, and of course, fasting, or
- fasting, which is obligatory for us.
- The month of Sha'ban is the right month
- to prepare ourselves for the Ramadan
- fast. Therefore, in a hadith at the end
- of the month of Sha'ban, the Prophet
- Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah
- be upon him) always delivered the final
- sermon of Sha'ban. A scholar named Abu
- Bakr Al-Balhi stated that Rajab is the
- month of planting. Sha'ban is the month
- of watering, watering plants. And
- Ramadan is the month of harvesting
- crops. Therefore, I will remind all my
- brothers and sisters about the month of
- Ramadan which will soon arrive with
- verses that Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala
- has collected in one section in Surah
- Al-Baqarah, starting from verses 100,
- 83, to 180, 7, or 108. I will take the
- part of the verse related to fasting,
- namely the sentence "hunna libasul
- lakum wa antum libasul lahum." This
- explains the basic principles of the
- husband-wife relationship in the
- household. I say husband and wife in
- the household because now there are
- misguided thoughts. What were the
- thoughts at that time? First, a husband
- and wife may consist of only the wife.
- That's what people usually say about
- lesbians or just husbands. They say
- it's a human right. That's clearly a
- misguided idea, unacceptable by Islamic
- teachings. Or marriages that don't
- comply with sharia law, which are cited
- as disagreements among scholars. In
- fact, there are disagreements among
- couples of different faiths, but there
- are also agreements. The consensus is
- that it's not permissible for a Muslim
- woman to marry a woman, specifically a
- non-Muslim or polytheistic man. I've
- never found a single opinion that
- allows it, with all my knowledge, and
- that's this. So, if a polytheistic man
- is not allowed to marry a Muslim woman.
- Furthermore, there's agreement that
- Muslim men are allowed to marry Muslim
- women. The disagreement arises when a
- Muslim man marries a non-Muslim. That's
- disagreement among scholars. Some allow
- it, others don't. But in this situation
- , I follow the opinion that doesn't
- allow it. Therefore, the couple must be
- fellow Muslims. It is not permissible
- for a man to marry a believer in the
- scriptures or even a polytheist. Let's
- equate "people of the scriptures" with
- "polytheists." Although there are many
- discussions on this issue, I would say
- that a man who is a believer in the
- scriptures is forbidden to marry a
- Muslim woman. This clearly won't bring
- happiness. Actually, if we follow the
- Indonesian Marriage Law, it's enough as
- a guide. But sometimes, based on human
- rights, freedom, and so on, we choose
- definitions that sometimes contradict
- what is agreed upon by scholars. So,
- once again, in marriage, as I said
- earlier, to maintain a marriage, a
- husband and wife must have the same
- faith. Otherwise, don't expect
- happiness. Pleasure, yes. But happiness
- isn't necessarily. I once explained the
- difference between pleasure and
- happiness. Pleasure is only physical,
- but happiness is in the heart, which
- can certainly be felt more deeply by
- those who experience it and those who
- witness it. So, this is it, my brothers
- . A happy household is one that
- achieves its goals. What, brothers? It
- is clear that Allah Subhanahu wa taala
- conveys that a happy household is one
- that is encompassed by three things.
- How Allah Subhanahu wa taala conveys it
- in Surah Ar-Rum verse 21.
- Auzubillahiminasyaitanirrajim. Wamin
- ayatihi khalaq lakum min anfusikum
- azwajaskunu ilaiha waalainakum maahmah
- inika there more or less. Allah states
- that a happy household is one that is
- encompassed by three things. First, as
- we often hear in marriage advice, there
- is the presence of sakinah (peace and
- tranquility). Second, there is the
- presence of mawaddah, namely love. And
- third, there is mercy. These are the
- three elements that make a household
- happy. And the form of a happy
- household is when these three things
- are fulfilled. Where the household is
- sakinah, calm. The husband no longer
- thinks about looking for a wife, the
- wife no longer thinks about looking for
- a husband. That is the main thing.
- Before marriage, her inner turmoil
- never stopped when she saw the opposite
- sex. Ah, when married, when a man sees
- a woman because he already has a wife,
- he is calm. A woman when she sees a man
- is calm because she already has a
- husband. The same goes for everything
- in the household. Sakinah becomes. Then
- there is mawaddah, a feeling of love.
- Mawaddah love is different from mercy.
- The scholars clearly differentiate.
- Mawaddah wadda yawuddu is a feeling of
- love because of a mutual interest. So
- when I see my wife at 27 years old, of
- course I still have interests in me
- with various needs that I must fulfill.
- That is mawaddah. Likewise, when my
- wife sees me, for example, at 7 or 37
- years old, she still has desires for me
- . That is mawaddah. So love is based on
- the desire to fulfill what each partner
- desires. But when the previous point is
- reversed, when my wife is 72 instead of
- 27, there is no longer any interest
- from me for my wife. What is there?
- Affection. Well, pity is mercy. Yes,
- brother sister. So, those older couples
- who have experienced love and affection
- now only need their blessings. Likewise
- , when my wife sees me in the reversed
- numbers. If it was 37, it becomes 73,
- it only contains pity for my husband.
- Pity for my husband. Now, these are the
- elements of marital happiness:
- tranquility, love, and affection. How
- can this be realized and maintained? So
- , not only is it realized, but it is
- maintained until each partner is called
- by Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. This is
- what is truly hoped for in a household.
- This is impossible or difficult to
- achieve if the couple has different
- beliefs, different religions. This has
- been proven. I have a film star friend
- who used to study at an Islamic
- boarding school with me. Only he's my
- senior. Well, I don't need to mention
- his wife. If there's a film star who
- graduated from that Islamic boarding
- school, I'll look for that senior first
- . That's it. They look happy, they look
- happy. He's Muslim, so his wife is
- certainly Christian or a scholar of the
- book. Yes, maybe he originally took the
- permissible argument, but a few years
- ago they ended up getting divorced.
- Well, that's what this brotherhood is
- all about. Heeh. Now, how can we keep
- our marriage happy, peaceful, loving,
- and merciful, until we meet Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala. Even if necessary,
- until the afterlife. Because marriage
- isn't just about this world. Oh my God,
- if we have different beliefs, right? Do
- we, as Muslims, believe that
- non-Muslims will also enter heaven? Of
- course, our beliefs can't be forced
- like that, and non-Muslims can't
- possibly believe that Muslims will also
- enter heaven. There's no evidence for
- that. So, even if we do find pleasure,
- only pleasure in this world, in the
- afterlife they will clearly be
- separated. One will be in heaven, the
- other in hell. So, once again, to
- achieve happiness in this world and the
- afterlife, reflect on the phrase hunna
- libasul lakum wa antum libasul lahud.
- Your wives, Allah says, are clothing
- for you, and you, O husbands, are
- clothing for them. Allah Subhanahu wa
- ta'ala likens a husband and wife to
- libas, or clothing. Why? Well, here are
- eight or seven things we can reflect on
- . Why are husbands and wives likened to
- clothing? Therefore, Ikhwan Akhwat, if
- we want to maintain, realize, and
- maintain domestic happiness, then the
- husband should function as clothing and
- the wife should function as clothing.
- What is implied in the word clothing?
- First, clothing is very close to the
- body. Clothing must stick to the body.
- No clothing separates once it is worn.
- So, this clothing touches the skin.
- That is how close it is. Well, husband
- and wife should be the same. There is
- physical closeness and spiritual
- closeness. A good husband is a pleasant
- partner for his wife. The wife is the
- same because they are very close, so
- each can easily convey her desires and
- ideas. Ibn Kathir explains in his
- tafsir, "Fala ulfata baina ruhaini
- a'zomu mimma bainazaujaini." There is
- no closer or more intimate union
- between two souls than that between a
- husband and wife. Well, that's the
- first point. Why is it compared to
- clothing? Because clothing is so close,
- it even sticks to the wearer. Therefore
- , if you want to create a happy
- household, husband and wife must be
- close, especially spiritually. Although
- now, because it's true that many
- husbands and wives are physically
- separated, with today's sophisticated
- communication tools, it feels like
- different times, different places, and
- so on are no obstacle. So, strive for
- spiritual closeness. Even if we are
- physically far apart, our souls must
- always be close. So, if, again, it's
- forced because perhaps the husband is
- studying or vice versa, like, again, my
- friend's husband, his wife is studying
- abroad, and he remains in Indonesia,
- that's fine. But of course, it's
- temporary; they are physically far
- apart, but they should be
- psychologically close. This is the
- meaning or implication of the word
- clothing. Second, we need each other.
- Just as humans need clothing. All
- humans need normal clothing. Of course.
- No human wants to be naked. No one.
- Only animals or primitive tribes are
- naked. Even then, they must have
- clothing. So, if people say that the
- more advanced a person is, the more
- revealing their clothing is, it's the
- opposite. In fact, the more primitive
- they are, the more revealing their
- clothing. If someone thinks that
- progress is necessary, they must be
- covered. We see advanced women, kings,
- queens, and so on, female ministers.
- They never meet anyone wearing
- revealing clothing. None. So, why? All
- humans need clothing. So a husband
- needs a wife, and a wife must feel the
- need for her
- husband. A scholar stated that Muhammad
- ibn SH al-Uthmeen said, "Liazauja la
- yastagni an zaujihi fahua laha
- bimanzilatil libas." Which means
- because a husband needs his wife.
- Therefore, she is to him, and to his
- wife, she is like clothing. So, in a
- household, a sense of mutual need must
- be built. If a husband no longer feels
- the need for his wife, ah, this is
- dangerous. The peace of the household,
- happiness will certainly be disturbed.
- Likewise, Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala
- will not look at a woman who does not
- or feels no need for her husband. who
- is ungrateful to her husband. In a
- hadith narrated by Annasai, Rasulullah
- sallallahu alaihi wasallam said, "La
- yangullah ilamroatin la tasuru
- lizaujiha wahya la tastagni anhu."
- Allah does not see a woman who is not
- grateful to her husband when he still
- needs him. So if this hadith emphasizes
- wives, then it is permissible for me to
- have that view too. Allah will also not
- look at a man who no longer feels the
- need for his wife or a wife or husband
- who is not grateful to his wife. This
- is something we sometimes forget when
- to others we easily express, say thank
- you. But for our wives or husbands,
- sometimes we forget that we have been
- provided with drinks in the morning.
- Well, after drinking we forget to say
- jazakillah khair. I should remind this
- to husbands, after being served by
- their wives, say thank you. Because of
- what? Because Rasulullah Sahu al
- Wasallam reminded us, if someone does
- something good to you, then repay them
- according to the kindness they have
- given you. If you cannot repay the
- kindness bestowed upon you, simply pray
- "Jazakallah khair"(prayer of praise and
- mercy). That is sufficient. Therefore,
- ladies and gentlemen, express your
- gratitude to your husbands. I'm not
- saying "partner," because couples
- aren't necessarily
- married. Marriage is that. Ladies,
- express your gratitude to your husbands
- when they receive monthly groceries or
- other gifts. Likewise, husbands should
- express their gratitude to their wives
- when they receive kindness from them.
- The hadith above is indeed emphasized
- for wives, but may I understand it also
- applies to husbands. "Laurullah ilamin
- lakurzaujiha wahya la tastagu"(God is
- gracious, and He is merciful). Allah
- does not look upon a woman who is
- ungrateful to her husband when she
- still needs him. Furthermore, why are
- husbands and wives likened to clothing?
- Third, because they provide comfort and
- tranquility. As I mentioned earlier in
- Surah Ar-Rum verse 21, the purpose of a
- household is for the husband and wife
- to be at peace and comfortable. You
- could say that. Well, a normal person,
- again, if they don't wear clothes, is
- clearly not at peace and comfortable.
- Yes, for example, if we see someone
- whose private parts are exposed, they
- will certainly be confused. They will
- try to cover them, unless it's abnormal
- . They will actually expose them as
- wide as possible. That's God forbid.
- Yes, a normal person is when their
- private parts are exposed, they are
- uneasy, they are uncomfortable, so they
- will try to cover them. Now, after
- dressing normally, they will be
- comfortable, they will be calm.
- Therefore, Ibn Abbas, when commenting
- on this very short verse or verse,
- stated, "Hunna sakanun lakum wa antum
- sakanun lahun." They are your wives who
- give you peace of mind, and you also
- give them peace of mind. This is the
- attitude that husbands and wives should
- have. So husbands should be able to
- provide peace of mind to their wives,
- husbands. Yes, once again.
- So in order to provide this very
- profound language, very profound
- sentence, husbands should be able to
- provide peace of mind to their wives.
- So, for example, a husband often goes
- away, I often liken it to cigarettes,
- but rather to a super needle. He's
- rarely at home, he likes to go away.
- Well, like me, for example.
- But a religious teacher is preaching.
- Yes. That's why, but it's just as rare
- for them to leave the house.
- Yes.
- It shouldn't be that when the husband
- goes out, the wife feels uneasy. The
- husband should be able to provide peace
- , tranquility, and tranquility to his
- wife when he leaves the house. Likewise
- , the wife should provide peace and
- tranquility to her husband when she
- leaves the house. Don't let the husband
- be anxious for days on end when he's
- given an assignment. Clearly, this will
- disrupt the peace and happiness of the
- household. Therefore, the wife must ask
- her husband's permission when she wants
- to leave the house. But shouldn't the
- husband have to ask for permission? In
- my opinion, permission is also required
- , although perhaps under the law, the
- wife's permission is given to her
- husband. So, as Ibn Abbas said earlier,
- "You are the one who is in control."
- You will calm them down. So, once again
- , clothing creates peace and comfort
- for the wearer. When clothing is lost,
- the heart will be restless. Well, the
- same goes for husbands and wives. Don't
- let the husband feel restless when the
- wife is not in sight. Give the wife
- confidence that his going out is for
- her happiness.
- Heeh. He will definitely tell you, he
- will say goodbye if necessary, as soon
- as he arrives at his destination,
- saying, "Mom or Bu if you call him that
- , or it would be better if he called me
- ." Well, that's it. Not the one before
- marriage. Now, call the one who lost
- his marriage after marriage. Well,
- that's it. Well, and so on, or the one
- when he was young when he's old, who
- was lost or replaced. If he used to be
- dear, now he's grandpa. Well, actually
- that's not very appropriate. So tell
- your wife when you arrive at your
- destination, tell her what happened,
- don't hide anything. Well, sometimes a
- dishonest husband will make a husband
- who is no longer functional as clothing
- , which will clearly not provide peace.
- Likewise, a wife, for one reason or
- another, is forced to leave the house.
- Well, this is a disagreement among
- scholars. Is it permissible for a woman
- to leave without a mukrim? Yes, some
- allow it, some don't. As long as
- security is guaranteed, in my opinion.
- In my opinion, this is okay. But if
- security is not guaranteed, don't.
- That's this. Well. After arriving at
- her destination, she will inform her
- husband. This is the third function of
- clothing, namely what? Providing peace
- and comfort. Fourth, what is the
- function of clothing? Covering each
- other's faults or shortcomings. So the
- husband must be able, must not be able
- to cover his wife's shortcomings.
- Likewise, the wife must cover her
- husband's shortcomings. Because the
- function of clothing is to cover
- badness. In the 26th verse of Surah
- Ala'raf, we will review it again. Allah
- states, "O children of Adam, qod
- anzalna alaikum libas yuwariatikum."
- You can see the brothers and sisters
- and this was translated during this
- lafziah translation because we are
- indeed on the ee Ala'raf surah. There
- Allah states, "O children of Adam,
- indeed We have sent down to you
- clothing to cover your private parts."
- What is private parts? Private parts
- are derived from the word reprehensible
- or bad or ugly. So when someone is seen
- to be reprehensible, they become ugly.
- Well, the function of clothing to cover
- private parts is the same or just now,
- private parts are shortcomings.
- Likewise, each husband and wife must
- cover their partner's shortcomings, not
- even reveal their partner's
- shortcomings and faults to others.
- Unless it is truly necessary for the
- other party, for example, to consult a
- doctor. Well, that's fine. But if not,
- don't tell anyone about your wife's
- health except the doctor or your
- husband's health. "Oh, my husband has a
- heart attack. No need to tell the
- neighbors. No need. If he goes to the
- doctor, that's fine. Or tell your wife
- about her health to others, just tell
- the doctor if it's necessary. For
- example, my wife has hypertension and
- so on, high blood pressure, and so on.
- Don't tell any neighbors who aren't
- concerned unless the neighbor is a
- doctor for treatment. That's another
- matter, or because religious
- consultations about your partner allow
- you to tell their shortcomings, and
- that doesn't constitute gossip. This
- happened in the case of Hindun and Abu
- Sufyan. Abu Sufyan was known to be
- stingy. Well, Hindun's sustenance was
- limited. Then Hindun asked the Prophet
- sallallahu alaihi wasallam after she
- converted to Islam. O Messenger of
- Allah, my husband Abu Sufyan is stingy.
- Can I take more of my living expenses
- than what he has given me because it is
- truly insufficient without his
- permission, according to the Messenger
- of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah
- be upon him). Well, please take it, but
- only in moderation. This is the beauty
- of household management in Islam. And
- Hindun conveying her husband's
- shortcomings to the Messenger of Allah
- (peace and blessings of Allah be upon
- him) is not considered backbiting. So,
- the scholars state that among the
- permissible things to backbite is
- backbiting the husband or wife in court
- . eh if it is necessary, of course,
- this is only what is needed for the
- benefit. This is the brotherhood and
- sisters who are very beloved by Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala regarding the
- function of clothing which is a
- reflection of husband and wife. Once
- again, each should function as clothing
- . What is the next function of clothing
- ? Well, God willing, we will continue
- after the following story.
- Okay, Ustaz. Thank you very much,
- brothers and sisters who are blessed by
- Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. That was
- Imam Yaksallah Mansur's explanation in
- the Tafsir Lafziyah program. This is
- just the fourth point.
- Four, yes. He.
- That clothing is, uh, covering each
- other's faults.
- Yes. Or shortcomings.
- Shortcomings. Okay.
- And it turns out that if there is a
- problem, it is then conveyed by someone
- knowledgeable or knowledgeable, such as
- a religious teacher or kiai, to someone
- knowledgeable, by the husband or wife.
- Yes. So that doesn't fall under the
- category
- of gossip.
- Brothers and sisters. Stay with us.
- After the next break, we will return to
- the listening room. Radio Silaturahim
- for Islam, which is still broadcasting
- from Jalan Masjid. Silaturahim number
- 36 Kalimanggis, Cibubur, Bekasi.
- Brothers and sisters, thank you for
- being with us in this Tafsir Maudui
- program with Imam Yaqsallah Mansur. We
- will continue our discussion this
- afternoon on the issue of marriage.
- Tafadal Imam.
- Brothers and sisters. Next, why does
- Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala compare a
- husband and wife to clothing? The fifth
- is to treat them well. I'm sure these
- animals agree with me because every
- rational person will treat their
- clothes well. Unless the clothes are no
- longer pleasing, then it's different.
- They will clean them. They will care
- for them and they will wear them,
- especially on important occasions. When
- they do important things, they must
- wear the best clothes, the ones they
- love the most. They will protect them
- from dirt. They will protect them from
- things that will tear them, rip them,
- and so on. Well, that's how husbands
- and wives, brothers, should treat their
- partners. Just as they treat their
- clothes, that is, treating their wives
- or husbands well. Cleaning them well,
- caring for them well, protecting them
- from things that dirty them and damage
- them, and so on. Therefore, in verse
- 228 of Surah Al-Baqarah, Allah reminds
- us that Allah is the Most Gracious and
- the Most Merciful. And for them, wives
- deserve to be treated well, just as
- they are obliged to treat their
- husbands well. Ibn Abbas's comment, or
- mentioned in Ibn Kathir's tafsir," If
- you like your wife to dress neatly,
- then you should dress neatly. "If you
- like your wife to dress up in front of
- you, you should also dress up when
- facing your wife. If you want your wife
- to look neat, you should also look neat
- . This is the guidance of the brothers
- and sisters in Islam for families who
- desire happiness as mentioned above. So
- treat your wife as clothes are for your
- husband, treat your husband as clothes
- are for his wife. Then the sixth, look
- after and protect each other. Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala mentions that among
- the functions of clothing is to protect
- oneself from heat and cold. There are
- also clothes to protect during battle.
- We can see this in the ikhwan ikhwan
- surah Annahl.
- Auzubillahiminasyaitanirrajim verse 81,
- insha'allah. W'alakum sarobilaqikumul
- har wasaril taqikum bakum. Which means
- it is Allah who made you clothes to
- protect you from heat and clothes that
- protect you from the time of war. So
- protecting your wife is an obligation.
- It also protects the husband. Even if a
- husband or wife dies because he
- protects his partner, his death is
- classified as a martyr. Man qutila duna
- ahli fahua syahidun. Hadith narrated by
- Ahmad. Whoever is killed while
- defending his family is a martyr. So
- some of the characteristics of the
- prospective inhabitants of Paradise are
- the wives of the inhabitants of
- Paradise, the women of Paradise are as
- stated by the Prophet sallallahu alaihi
- wasallam. Irun nisa manasuruka ubsir
- wataka umir watahu gibaka fi nafsiha
- waika. The best wife is the one who
- pleases you when your husband looks at
- her, obeys you when he commands her,
- and protects you and your property when
- you are not there. Even the Prophet
- said, ayyumroatin matatzaujuhail jannah
- . K Tirmidhi, whenever a wife dies
- while her husband is pleased, she is
- guaranteed entry into Paradise. Of
- course, this one who is pleased is the
- one who is of the same religion. H.
- If they are not of the same religion,
- it is clear that their religion is not
- accepted by Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala.
- Because it is clear that only Islam is
- the religion that is accepted by Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala. Innaddina
- indallahil Islam.
- Then the seventh should lead each other
- to piety. We can see this in the 26th
- verse of Surah Al ee Ala'raf. Allah
- states that the best clothing is piety.
- Allah mentions that the best clothing
- is piety. Therefore, the best struggle
- in the interaction between husband and
- wife is to bring themselves and their
- partners to piety to Allah Subhanahu wa
- ta'ala. Yes, the scholars divide it
- with this verse. There are two types of
- clothing. One is spiritual clothing and
- the other is hisi clothing. Hisi
- clothing, the visible clothing to cover
- the genitals, yes. So the clothes we
- wear now are libasul hissi.
- H. The
- visible clothing is material. But there
- is also spiritual clothing, which is
- what? Piety.
- H.
- Yes. That is libasut piety. libasul
- maknawi. It is mentioned in the tafsir
- book several imtisaul amawir wal awamir
- wajtinabun nawahi. So, in a household,
- if you want happiness, husband and wife
- should order each other to carry out
- Allah's commands and forbid each other
- from avoiding what Allah Subhanahu wa
- Ta'ala forbids. The government is
- actually easier, yes. So, ordering the
- wife, ordering the husband to carry out
- Allah's commands and avoid His
- prohibitions. The husband also orders
- his wife to carry out Allah's commands
- and avoid His prohibitions. That is
- libasut taqwa, the garment of piety.
- Now, if there are different beliefs,
- how can something like this be possible
- ?
- Yes.
- In another hadith, it is mentioned in a
- verse, even mentioning a good wife and
- a good husband. A good husband is one
- who wakes his wife for the tahajjud
- prayer. When her husband is asleep, his
- wife wakes him for the tahajjud prayer.
- That is azzakirin and azzakirat. A man
- who remembers Allah and a woman who
- remembers Allah. So, this seventh point
- is very important, namely guiding those
- who are not pious. Libasut taqwa is the
- garment of piety. Clothing that can
- lead to piety. This means that the
- husband humbles his wife to be pious,
- and the wife humbles her husband to be
- pious. Ah, the last one is to beautify.
- Okay, yes. So that the wife can be more
- beautiful, if a woman is certainly more
- beautiful. Well, then the husband is
- more beautiful, of course more handsome
- after marriage. Oh,
- yes.
- Why? Indeed, one of the functions of
- clothing is for adornment, returning to
- verse 26 and ya bani adama qod anzalna
- alaikum libasa yuwari sauatikum warisah
- warisa here zina is adornment so that
- the husband will be better after he has
- a wife, and the wife will be better
- after she has a husband. Don't just get
- worse after marriage. Because there are
- too many problems faced during marriage
- . His wife looks beautiful. 3 years
- later her beauty is gone. Well, that
- should be more beautiful.
- Well, that's the same. The husband was
- handsome when he married, right? Well,
- after 2-3 years of losing his
- handsomeness because he was always
- thinking about his problematic wife, he
- should have become more handsome. He
- became more handsome after getting
- married. His legacy is clothing, just
- like mothers and fathers when they
- dress.
- Those who were not handsome before,
- become more handsome. Like Abi Agus,
- his clothes become more handsome.
- Imagine if you take off your clothes?
- That's the brotherhood, sisterhood. So
- once again, husband and wife are
- clothes:" Hunna libasul lakum wa antum
- libasulullahun. "Hopefully, the husband
- can function as clothing and the wife
- can function as clothing, so that
- domestic happiness is realized and
- sustainable. God knows best.
- Thank you, Imam, for your presentation.
- Brothers and sisters, let's go straight
- to the question and answer session.
- There's Eyang Sri. Assalamualaikum
- warahmatullahi wabarakatuh. Imam, I
- want to ask a question.
- Waalaikumsalam warahmatullah. If a
- daughter marries a non-Muslim, her
- parents, sir, are not guilty because
- they allow it. Thank you.
- Yes, so, of course, whether it's a sin
- or not is a priority right of Allah
- Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. But it can be seen
- from the process, right? Because I
- myself often find this happening in
- society,
- it's been forbidden by her parents.
- Don't marry what was the term?
- Different what?
- Different religion.
- Different religion.
- He.
- But they still insist. Even the worst
- thing is, there are people who support
- it, like what happened yesterday, even
- consultants.
- Yes. Especially for those of different
- religions, this is not right.
- Even though she is Muslim, the
- consultant is Muslim, I know that. I'm
- from Semarang, so that's that. So if
- her parents have forbidden it, she
- won't sin. No sin. But if her parents
- allow it, even encourage it, because
- this also happens in society, she has
- children. Heeh.
- Proposed. One is rich, one is poor. The
- rich one is non-Muslim.
- Heeh.
- Well. Then the poor one is Muslim.
- Yes.
- Her mother gave her to the non-Muslim.
- Innalillah.
- Well, that's just this character, right
- ? What happened in elementary school?
- The child ended up following her
- husband's religion. If it were a mother
- like this, she would be the one to sin.
- But she would ultimately regret it. Now
- , I see her
- returning to Islam after her husband
- died. But what would result is a
- psychological split, with the child
- confused about
- which to follow.
- Although sometimes the wife still
- practices Islam, the husband doesn't,
- so the child is confused. So, mothers
- and fathers shouldn't allow this. Try
- your best, don't just say," Oh, this is
- difficult to manage, "and so on,
- because of human rights. The maximum is
- to forbid our children, after all, they
- are our children. But if they don't
- want to, then leave it to Allah
- Subhanahu wa Ta'ala, and this is
- usually also influenced by education.
- If religious education from childhood
- is not correct, then the consequences
- will be wrong. Therefore, provide our
- children with Islamic education as
- early as possible. Once again, parents
- will not be sinless if they have
- directed their children not to marry
- non-Muslims, but they still violate it.
- But if he supports it and even provides
- facilities and so on, then the parents
- are also sinning. God knows best. Okay,
- I noted that Imam has data that
- mentions the Indonesian Conference on
- Religion and Peace. Yes, it has been
- recorded that since 2005, there have
- been 1,425 interfaith couples married
- in Indonesia. Is that a lot, Ma'am? Yes
- , I'm sure I can't possibly be happy. I
- can't possibly share even though from
- the outside it looks happy, yes, happy,
- yes, but happy is not. The evidence is
- abundant. My friend, the film star,
- ended up getting divorced. Well, then
- what I know is that my friend's mother
- eventually returned to Islam and so on
- and so forth. So don't just because we
- are married, Allah has given the
- explanation litaskunu ilaiha wa'ala
- bainakum mawadatan warahm, although the
- more we have, the truth cannot be
- measured by how much or how little, in
- fact, usually the more that is not true
- , right?
- Therefore, once again, do not be
- influenced by various views that are
- not in accordance with Islamic law as
- one of the rules of Islam and also
- respect others of other religions is to
- marry between Muslims, later it will be
- a pity. That's what
- happened.
- So. God knows best.
- Okay. The next question comes from Mrs.
- Marfuah in Tambun Imam. Peace be upon
- you warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
- Waalaikumsalam warahmatullahi.
- It's a bit long, Imam. I want to ask. I
- am 50 years old.
- Yes. My
- husband is 59 years old.
- We have been separated for 3 years
- because my husband works abroad.
- However, communication and income are
- still running smoothly.
- He.
- Is it a sin for a husband to leave his
- wife for a long time?
- Heeh.
- My husband works far away because he
- wants to earn an income.
- Heeh. More so he can have savings and
- pay for his children's college. He
- usually comes home every Eid al-Fitr,
- but because of COVID he can't come home
- . God willing, he can come home for Eid
- al-Fitr tomorrow.
- Heeh. Hopefully, I pray for him.
- Please pray for him, Ustaz. Amen.
- Just don't be like Bang Thayib.
- Three times fasting, three times Eid.
- Yes. So, Mrs. Marfuah, whom
- I am proud of, who remained patient.
- When her husband left her in order to
- fulfill his obligations, he had to
- leave his wife. Indeed, you can see it
- in Surah An-Nisa verse 34.
- Heeh.
- Auzubillahiminasyaitanirrajim. Arijalu
- qamuna alanisa bima fadah bima fadah
- baum wimqu min amwalihimhatuitunidil
- gaibi bima hafidullah which means that
- the man is my protector, this is more
- suitable as a protector. Yes, rather
- than a leader for women, we, ee,
- because Allah has made some of them
- superior to others and because men
- provide for them from their wealth.
- Hm.
- So here Allah explains that the
- provider is the husband.
- Men are
- husbands, I say not men. Husbands are
- husbands. Because men are not
- necessarily husbands.
- Oh, husbands. Yes, that's right. Well,
- yes. So, it is the wife who is provided
- for. Well, what if the wife works?
- There is no obligation to give to the
- husband. Indeed, Islam states so.
- H.
- But if the wife wants to give to her
- husband, that's fine. But it's not a
- living. Don't let it be reversed.
- Because the wife works and is then
- demanded to provide for her, but there
- is none. That's why the husband is not
- allowed to give zakat to his wife. No,
- hehe.
- Because it's his responsibility. But if
- the wife is rich, giving zakat to her
- husband is permissible.
- Heeh. H. So, hopefully what you
- experienced is not far from the
- practice of Surah An-Nisa verse 34.
- Where your husband wanted to provide a
- better living. Heeh.
- So he had to leave you. Well, this is
- what I said earlier for certain cases.
- Clothes may be physically distant but
- psychologically. Don't. Yes, that's a
- husband and wife, even though they are
- far apart, nowadays there are no more
- territorial boundaries, they can be
- seen at any time. In fact, it was
- unimaginable 20 or 30 years ago that we
- could see our husbands who were far
- away by looking at their faces. When I
- was in Yemen, there was no video call.
- Heeh. So the wife is just listened to.
- So is the husband, and so is my wife
- and I. But now, God willing, she can
- call almost all the time.
- Well, B calls. So, that's it. So,
- ladies, you said earlier, God willing,
- that's in the context of responsibility
- . Hopefully, your household will remain
- happy. So, it's the husband who is
- responsible for providing for his wife.
- A wife who is supported should be a
- good wife. Asolihat, meaning a pious,
- obedient woman. Yes, even if her
- husband is far away, ladies. Don't let
- that happen, God willing. When her
- husband goes away, he still sends
- support. When he comes home, the wife
- divorces him.
- That often happens, or the opposite,
- where the wife becomes a migrant worker
- . This time, I don't allow it
- and I can't accept it.
- Yes.
- Well, that's it. Unless it's forced,
- but according to sharia, it's best not
- to become a migrant worker, not a
- migrant worker. Well, going home ee is
- often that ee that I often hear because
- I am also often with migrant workers,
- if perhaps during Umrah,
- I hear that there are many of us in
- Singapore. Yes, that's that. Well, yes,
- if it's not forced, yes, mothers, yes,
- it's better for us or now to start
- making the intention, I will, yes, be
- patient, be close to my husband, yes,
- even if it's in a forced condition, if
- it's an emergency, how else can I go
- home. Well, this is what I describe,
- the bad things, yes, there are also
- many good things, yes. There is a
- friend of mine who is a migrant worker,
- right, she became a lecturer, yes, yes,
- but it's her nature to be close, yes,
- well,
- I can't blame her wife, instead, she
- should be given guidance by her husband
- , why did your wife become
- t,
- well, this means you didn't carry out
- Surah An-Nisa 34 earlier, if you ee
- what's it called earlier ee bima anfak
- It's not impossible that husbands, eh,
- wives will become migrant workers. When
- I went to Hong Kong, I met them too,
- they suffered from wanting to go home,
- sir.
- Yes.
- But what else can we do? Children need
- money, husbands need money, and
- husbands need money. So, in the end,
- we're forced to.
- Oh husbands, be responsible. Return to
- Surah An-Nisa 34. So that no more wives
- are forced, quote, to become female
- migrant workers abroad, because that
- will greatly affect the happiness of
- the household.
- That's it, ladies. Once again, my
- message to those who have already done
- so is to be patient. And hopefully,
- next year, fate will be better, and
- they will be reunited with their
- husbands and children. Amen, O Lord of
- the Worlds. This is my prayer.
- Okay, we also want to greet our
- listeners, because Ustaz mentioned
- migrant workers earlier. We also want
- to greet our listeners in Singapore.
- In Singapore, then in Taiwan, and also
- in Hong Kong, perhaps those who are
- listening via streaming.
- Yes. Hopefully, ladies can soon be
- reunited with
- their husbands. This is
- our prayer, because we often interact
- with them, but it's actually forced. So
- I remind husbands to be responsible so
- that the wives of those men don't have
- to become regawi. Poor them. But if
- it's forced, I pray again and I
- appreciate the
- sincerity of the mothers, namely this.
- Now, those who have to work hard to
- support the family, which should be the
- husband's responsibility. Husband.
- That's it.
- Okay, Imam, thank you for the
- explanation. Maybe we can close with a
- conclusion, Imam. Ikanawat ee actually,
- there's probably still a lot we want to
- talk about, but because of time, we
- have to ee end it until ee now, yes,
- with ee with this time. Ee the
- conclusion is that once again the
- household will be happy. If the husband
- functions as clothing and the wife also
- functions as clothing, clothing will be
- good if it suits the body. Yes.
- Heeh.
- Well,
- if it doesn't suit the body, then it
- won't be good. Well, people say that
- clothing is religion. So our parents
- used to say that religion is ageman.
- Understand, Mas Gus?
- I don't understand.
- Agem. Agem is clothing.
- Oh, clothing.
- Well, yes, that's what I'm interested
- in, that's clothes. So compatibility in
- religion is a very important function
- to create happiness in the household in
- accordance with the pleasure of Allah
- subhanahu wa taala. Amen.
- Hopefully our household will be filled
- with happiness
- blessed by Allah Subhanahu wa Taala so
- that we can create descendants who can
- also continue what we have done,
- continue our religion so that Islam
- remains on this beloved earth of
- Indonesia. Wallahuam bisawab.
