3:37 In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious 3:38 , the Most Merciful. All praise is due 3:39 to Allah, Lord of the worlds. O Allah, 3:41 send prayers upon our master Muhammad 3:43 and upon the family of our master 3:44 Muhammad. Peace be upon you, and the 3:46 mercy of Allah, and His blessings. 3:48 >> And peace be upon you too. 3:49 >> Brothers and sisters, listeners of 3:50 Radio Silaturahim and viewers of Rasil 3:52 TV, may Allah bless you all. Praise be 3:55 to Allah, we meet again this Tuesday 3:58 afternoon, the 9th of Jumada al-Awwal 4:02 1448 Hijri, which corresponds to 4:05 October 20, 2026. We are back for our 4:10 afternoon lecture with Ustaz Wahyu di 4:12 Kais, who, praise be to Allah, is here 4:14 with us. Let us greet him first, 4:16 brothers and sisters. Peace be upon you 4:18 , and the mercy of Allah, and His 4:19 blessings, Ustaz. 4:20 >> And peace be upon you, and the mercy of 4:21 Allah, and His blessings. Are you doing 4:23 well? 4:23 >> Praise be to Allah. 4:24 >> Praise be to Allah. This afternoon, we 4:27 will listen together to the theme that 4:29 the Ustaz will present, which is: " 4:31 Because of Arrogance, Advice is 4:33 Rejected." Well, that is the topic. We 4:36 will listen to it together, brothers 4:37 and sisters. And for those who wish to 4:39 join and ask questions, please feel 4:41 free to send them via our WhatsApp at 4:43 0811999720. Please, Ustaz. 4:49 >> Very well. In the name of Allah, the 4:51 Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. 4:52 Praise and gratitude to Allah. Whatever 4:54 Allah wills happens, and whatever He 4:56 does not will, does not happen. There 4:58 is no power and no strength except by 5:00 Allah. I bear witness that there is no 5:03 god but Allah alone, having no partner, 5:05 and I bear witness that Muhammad is His 5:07 servant and messenger. May the prayers 5:09 and peace of Allah be upon the 5:11 Messenger, his family, his companions, 5:13 and those who follow him. I seek refuge 5:16 in Allah from the accursed Satan. O you 5:20 who have believed, fear Allah as He 5:22 should be feared, and do not die except 5:25 as Muslims. To proceed. Indeed, the 5:29 best speech is the Book of Allah, and 5:31 the best guidance is the guidance of 5:32 Muhammad, may the peace and blessings 5:34 of Allah be upon him, and the worst of 5:36 affairs are the newly invented ones. 5:40 Brothers and sisters, viewers of Rasil 5:42 TV and listeners of Radio Silaturahim 5:45 wherever you are. Praise be to Allah, 5:50 on this afternoon's occasion, we can 5:53 meet again in this lecture session, and 5:56 this time we will try to discuss 5:59 together a theme, or rather the title 6:01 of the material is "Because of 6:04 Arrogance, Advice is Rejected." Yeah. 6:08 >> So, brothers and sisters whom I love 6:10 for the sake of Allah, this afternoon 6:12 the title is indeed a bit spicy. It's 6:16 okay to be spicy once in a while, right 6:17 ? We shouldn't just have sweet things 6:18 all the time. But this is actually for 6:21 myself. I am trying to advise myself, 6:23 but hopefully, others can also benefit 6:26 from it. 6:27 >> Now, why did I bring this up? Because 6:31 lately, we see many great people, 6:33 public figures, even ustaz. 6:37 >> When advised, instead of accepting it, 6:39 they fight back and expose the flaws of 6:41 the person giving the advice. So, it's 6:45 like a kickback, right? 6:47 >> Now, why is that? Because there is a 6:50 disease called pride. And that pride is 6:53 another name for arrogance. 6:56 >> Yes. Masyaallah. I want us to reflect 7:00 on this. But beforehand, let us open 7:03 this session by reciting the prayer for 7:06 seeking knowledge. In the name of Allah 7:08 , the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. 7:09 O my Lord, increase me in knowledge. O 7:12 Allah, benefit me with what You have 7:14 taught me, teach me what will benefit 7:16 me, and provide me with knowledge that 7:19 benefits me. Amen. O Allah, Amen. 7:21 Hopefully, with that prayer, we begin 7:25 this session so that the knowledge we 7:29 gain can be far more beneficial than 7:33 just knowing it. We absorb more, 7:35 understand more, and then put it into 7:38 practice. It starts with a story about 7:43 the best leader after Abu Bakr. 7:47 >> Who was the best leader after Abu Bakr? 7:50 Who? Umar, right? 7:52 >> So, of course, his name is very well 7:55 known, namely Umar bin Khattab. Amir 7:58 al-Mu'minin. Leader of half the world. 8:01 >> Yes. Half the world. 8:03 >> Because at that time, there were few 8:05 people in the world. Uh. 8:07 >> But Umar already held, well, was in 8:10 control of Persia and Rome. 8:13 >> Uh-huh. 8:13 >> Just imagine, Persia and Rome were 8:15 already in his grasp, 8:16 >> already in his, uh, control, you see. 8:20 This Caliph Umar was truly 8:22 extraordinary, right? Throughout 8:25 history, what is called the golden age, 8:29 the golden era, 8:31 >> it reached its peak during the time of 8:32 Caliph Umar. 8:34 >> It started with the conquest of Mecca 8:35 during the time of the Prophet Muhammad 8:36 . Well, it reached its peak during the 8:37 time of Umar. After that, it 8:39 experienced a decline during Uthman's 8:41 era, continuing to decline until it 8:43 peaked in the conflict between Ali and 8:45 Muawiyah. 8:46 >> Like that. So the peak was during 8:48 Caliph Umar's time. Now, what's 8:50 interesting here is that a figure like 8:53 Caliph Umar, who was a leader of half 8:55 the world, was much greater than a 8:57 president, 8:59 >> you know. So, don't be arrogant if 9:02 you're a president. 9:03 >> There's no, there's no comparison to a 9:04 caliph. Caliph Umar. 9:05 >> Exactly. Caliph Abu Bakar and Caliph 9:07 Umar, they led half the world. 9:10 >> If it's a president, it's only one 9:12 country. 9:12 >> Yes. 9:13 >> But a caliph led up to half the world 9:15 back then. It stretched out. Then after 9:20 that, especially during the Ottoman 9:22 Empire, leaders ruled the Muslim 9:25 community from Morocco to Merauke. 9:30 >> Well, one day, Caliph Umar was walking 9:34 in Medina with his companion named 9:38 Al-Jarud. Suddenly, an old woman came 9:44 from across the street and called out 9:47 to him. "O Umar, stop." Surprising that 9:53 an old woman, a grandmother, dared to 9:55 stop Umar. Well, Umar stopped. His 10:00 companion was shocked. Al-Jarud said, " 10:03 >> This old woman is no ordinary woman," 10:05 he said. It turned out she was Khawlah 10:08 binti Tha'labah. 10:10 >> Tha'labah. 10:11 >> Khawlah binti Tha'labah was a female 10:14 companion whose situation caused the 10:17 revelation of Surah Al-Mujadilah verses 10:20 1 to 4. 10:22 >> Uh. 10:22 >> So, I'll touch on the story a little. 10:26 One day, Khawlah's husband, Aus bin 10:30 Samit, returned from a journey and 10:34 asked Khawlah for food. 10:37 >> Uh. 10:37 >> But at that time, there was no food in 10:39 the house. 10:39 >> Uh. 10:40 >> So Khawlah told him the truth that she 10:42 had no food. Now, Aus was angry, angry 10:46 because he felt his wife wasn't taking 10:48 care of him. 10:50 >> Uh. 10:51 >> In his anger, he then "zihared" his 10:54 wife. Zihar is a pre-Islamic method of 10:58 divorce, by equating the wife's body 11:01 part to the mother's body part. 11:04 >> So, Aus said this, "O Khawlah, your 11:08 back is like my mother's back." Yes, 11:11 that clearly meant one is not allowed 11:14 to be intimate with one's mother, right 11:17 ? 11:19 >> It's forbidden for a son to be intimate 11:20 with his mother. And here, his wife was 11:23 equated with his mother. So it was an 11:25 automatic divorce, you see. 11:25 >> So that automatic divorce is called 11:27 zihar. 11:28 >> Zihar. 11:29 >> Now, zihar is called zihar because of 11:30 zuhr. Zuhr means the back, right, 11:32 zuhrun. "Zuhur" means back, which is 11:34 why it is called "zihar." Right. Then, 11:37 when he said that, Khawlah was shocked. 11:41 >> How could you have the heart to divorce 11:43 me in such an ignorant way? 11:45 >> She went straight into her room. She 11:47 put on her hijab and covered her 11:49 modesty because she had been divorced. 11:52 >> Then, she left her house. Not long 11:56 after, he returned with some food. 12:00 >> He thought that by inviting her to eat, 12:03 they would reconcile. Huh. "Let's eat, 12:07 I've brought food." She refused because 12:09 , to this day, she hadn't received a 12:11 religious ruling. Whether it was truly 12:14 okay to just act like that. She refused 12:16 , and eventually, Khawlah...She left 12:22 her husband eating at home and went to 12:24 see the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon 12:27 him. 12:27 >> She told the Prophet, because Aus—the 12:31 companion Aus bin Samit—after looking 12:34 for her and bringing food, acted as if 12:37 they had reconciled and wanted to be 12:39 intimate with her. She refused because 12:43 it wasn't clear if it was lawful or not 12:45 . 12:46 >> So, she went to the Prophet. 12:48 >> Once she explained the problem to the 12:50 Prophet, he didn't immediately answer. 12:52 Then, verses 1 to 4 of Surah 12:54 Al-Mujadilah were revealed. It was 12:58 mentioned that Allah heard the two 13:01 servants who were, what? Engaging in 13:06 dialogue. Meaning the Prophet Muhammad, 13:08 peace be upon him, and Khawlah binti 13:10 Tha'labah. 13:11 >> The verses were revealed, stating that 13:16 to be released from the penalty of 13:20 zihar, one must free a slave. 13:25 >> If unable, fast for two months; if 13:28 still unable, feed 60 poor people. 13:32 >> All three were difficult for Aus, right 13:35 ? 13:35 >> Yes, indeed. 13:36 >> How could he be expected to free a 13:38 slave? His family 13:39 >> was also poor. Slaves were expensive, 13:42 you know. 13:42 >> Yes. Indeed. 13:43 >> A slave could cost up to 100 million. 13:45 >> For one person. 13:45 >> Yes. Exactly. Some were even more 13:48 expensive. 13:49 >> Right. 13:50 >> Then, if he couldn't do that, he had to 13:52 fast for two months. How could an old 13:54 man like that fast for two months? That 13:58 was impossible, too. Feeding 60 poor 14:02 people was also beyond his means. 14:05 >> Finally, not long after, when the 14:07 Prophet received dates as charity, he 14:09 gave them to Khawlah so she could help 14:11 free her husband. In the end, Khawlah 14:15 also contributed her own savings. 14:18 >> Just so her husband could be set free. 14:21 Imagine a wife who had been hurt like 14:23 that. 14:25 >> Hurt, wounded, oppressed by being 14:28 subject to zihar—treated in a 14:30 pre-Islamic way—yet she still helped 14:33 free her husband. This is an 14:36 extraordinary human being. 14:38 >> Yes. It is only natural that Allah 14:40 honored Khawlah by revealing verses 1 14:42 to 4 of Surah Al-Mujadilah. 14:44 >> This was Umar's foundation. So when 14:47 Khawlah binti Tha'labah stood before 14:50 him, Umar stopped. Then Khawlah said 14:55 this to Umar: Who was the supreme 14:59 leader at that time. "O Umar, I have 15:02 known you since you were still called 15:06 Umayr." 15:08 >> Umair is the diminutive of Umar, a term 15:10 of endearment. So Umar becomes Umair. 15:12 Yes, little Umar. You were once just a 15:17 goat herder in the Ukaz market with 15:19 your small staff. Time passed, you were 15:24 called Umar, and now you are called the 15:26 Commander of the Faithful. O Umar, fear 15:30 Allah regarding your subjects, your 15:37 people, or those who are led by you. 15:42 That was the advice of Khawla bint 15:44 Tha'labah. Now, let's try to imagine, 15:48 brothers and sisters, viewers of Rasul 15:50 TV and listeners of Silaturahim. 15:54 Imagine if we were in Umar's place, and 15:57 suddenly an old woman in the street 16:00 rebuked us in front of our aides or 16:03 assistants. 16:05 >> Let's say we are a company leader. 16:09 Suddenly, an old woman reminds us of 16:12 our past, "Hey, do you remember when 16:14 you used to sell peanuts or ice on the 16:16 side of the road?" Now look at you. 16:20 What would we think? 16:23 >> Suddenly, if we are reminded, "Hey, you 16:25 were a goat herder." Umar is reminded 16:28 of being a goat herder. What is our 16:30 reaction? We might be offended. 16:33 >> Yes, 16:34 >> offended. But what happened to Umar? No 16:38 , Umar did not. Umar was not offended 16:41 at all. Umar stood there and bowed his 16:45 head, listening for a long time—not 16:48 just a minute or two. 16:52 >> He listened until his aide, Al-Jarud, 16:54 couldn't stand it anymore. He said, "O 16:57 woman, O old woman." Enough, stop it. " 17:00 Enough, enough, enough. You have kept 17:02 the Commander of the Faithful for too 17:04 long. MashaAllah. Then Umar became 17:08 angry with Al-Jarud. Well, Hey, do you 17:13 know who she is? Just let her be. Let 17:17 her finish what she has to say, for she 17:18 is the one whom Allah listens to. From 17:22 above the seven heavens. That’s how 17:25 Umar was. Let her be. Do you know who 17:30 she is? She is the woman whose words 17:34 Allah heard from above the seven 17:36 heavens. By Allah, if she were to keep 17:43 speaking to me until the night fell. 17:54 Yes, that is how it was. By Allah, if 17:58 she wanted to advise me until nightfall 18:01 , I would not leave her. 18:04 >> That is MashaAllah. Except only to pray 18:07 . And after that, I would return to 18:09 listen to her advice again. 18:10 >> See, 18:11 >> willing, 18:12 >> to that extent. Are there any leaders 18:15 among us who are like this? Valuing 18:19 someone who is indeed valued by Allah 18:22 SWT, like Khawla bint Tha'labah. 18:26 Because of her piety. So, what lesson 18:31 can we learn from this? Umar, the 18:34 Commander of the Faithful, being 18:36 advised by an old woman on the street. 18:39 He was ready to stand there until night 18:40 . Yet, we have 100,000 subscribers, for 18:45 example, 18:47 >> just called an 'ustadz', just became a 18:49 public figure, it hasn't been long, 18:51 only a few years, for example. If 18:54 someone leaves a reminder in the 18:55 comment section, we immediately block 18:57 them. 18:59 >> If someone gives advice via WhatsApp, 19:01 we immediately expose their flaws on 19:02 YouTube. MashaAllah. My brothers and 19:05 sisters, I am concerned with what has 19:07 been conveyed by the words of the 19:09 Prophet, peace be upon him." La 19:10 yadkhulul jannah misqola habbatim min 19:13 khordalin minal kibir. "That is 19:16 recorded by Bukhari. No one will enter 19:20 paradise if they have as much as a 19:21 mustard seed of pride, of arrogance, in 19:24 their heart. The companions asked," O 19:27 Messenger of Allah, what is al-kibr? "" 19:29 What is meant by arrogance? "The 19:30 Prophet replied," Al-kibru batarul haqq 19:33 wa ghamtun-nas. "" Indeed, arrogance is 19:36 rejecting the truth and belittling 19:39 people. "It is truly not easy to accept 19:44 advice. Especially when we are, you 19:47 know, already popular or respected by 19:51 many people, 19:53 >> having to accept advice from an 19:54 ordinary person, 19:55 >> it’s difficult; it’s a matter of 19:56 pride. 19:56 >> Oh, masya Allah. This is how it is 19:59 illustrated. We might reject the truth 20:02 not because the truth itself is wrong. 20:06 Not because the advice is wrong, no. 20:08 But because we consider the one 20:09 bringing the truth to be lower than us. 20:12 >> Hm. Yes, that is what is called" 20:15 batarul haqq. "We belittle the one 20:20 giving advice. Who are they?" They are 20:23 a novice, how dare they advise me. "Now 20:25 , that is what is called" ghamtun-nas, 20:28 "belittling people." Ah, you are just 20:31 an ordinary person, you only started 20:34 learning yesterday, "right?" So, why 20:37 are you advising me? "Yet, Umar taught 20:41 us—who doesn't know the stature of 20:43 Umar, who doesn't know the greatness of 20:47 Umar? To the point that the Prophet 20:50 mentioned, if there were to be a 20:52 prophet after me, it would have been 20:53 Umar. The Prophet held him in such high 20:56 regard, seeing his greatness and his 20:58 stature. But a figure like Umar, the 21:02 Commander of the Faithful, was willing 21:04 to listen to advice from an old woman 21:06 like Haulah binti Tsa'labah. Yes, the 21:09 truth is judged by what is said, not by 21:13 who says it. Now, masya Allah. So, 21:18 brothers and sisters, this afternoon we 21:21 learn to be like Umar. Don't be too 21:25 proud to be advised. If someone 21:29 corrects us today, don't get angry 21:31 immediately. Restrain yourself. Try to 21:33 evaluate yourself instead, say many 21:36 istighfar. Because it could be that the 21:43 person giving the advice is truly doing 21:45 it out of sincerity and love. So listen 21:51 , perhaps Allah is sending little 21:53 Haulahs. 21:56 >> Those little Haulahs who have the 21:57 courage to offer advice. Because the 21:59 principle is," Qulil haqq wa lau kana 22:00 murran. "Speak the truth even if it is 22:02 bitter. There it is. So, hopefully 22:05 through this, Allah will remove 22:06 arrogance from our hearts. Now, let's 22:10 understand what advice is. In Arabic, 22:13 linguistically, advice comes from the 22:18 verb" nasaha. " 22:20 >> Yes." Nasha "means people translate it 22:25 in two ways. Etymologically, the word" 22:28 nasaha "has several meanings; first," 22:31 khalaso. "The meaning of" khalaso "is 22:35 pure, clear, and clean from any dirt or 22:39 mixture. For instance, the phrase" 22:42 nasah-tul 'asal. "' Asal means I am 22:44 extracting honey. So, when someone 22:49 filters honey until it is separated 22:51 from its wax, thus producing pure honey 22:54 , that is called" nasaha. "Use nasuha 22:57 nashtul asl 22:59 >> And becomes the basis of advice, right? 23:02 >> Now, there is also the word" 23:04 khaiyah-khot "which means to sew. Well, 23:08 giving advice is like sewing torn 23:11 clothing. The goal is to fix and 23:15 reunite the damaged fabric so it can be 23:19 used well. 23:22 >> Now Kang Pahri, your clothes are torn. 23:25 >> Yes. 23:26 >> I offer Kang Pahri, so your skin isn't 23:28 showing. How about I sew those tears? 23:32 Would you like that? 23:33 >> It can be free, no problem. 23:34 >> Now, you'd be happy, right? 23:35 >> Happy. 23:36 >> Happy. 23:37 >> Oh my God. Wow, it's free. Free, right? 23:41 Not paying. Free. Oh, Mashallah. 23:44 >> But what happens these days? Many 23:48 people want their torn clothes sewn but 23:51 get angry instead. This is because they 23:55 don't understand the substance of the 23:57 advice. The evidence and warnings in 24:02 the book Al-Kabair, in the copy I have 24:06 at home, are in part 17. It mentions 24:12 the meaning of arrogance, from Abdullah 24:17 bin Mas'ud, from the Prophet, may peace 24:19 be upon him. He said," La yadkhulul 24:24 jannah man kana fi qolbihi mithqalu 24:27 dharrah min kibrin. "This means a 24:31 person will not enter heaven if they 24:33 have arrogance in their heart the size 24:35 of a dharrah. Yes, a dharrah is even 24:39 smaller than an atom. 24:41 >> H 24:41 >> Yes, it is that small. But people 24:44 sometimes translate it as the weight of 24:46 a mustard seed. A mustard seed 24:48 >> is still visible; a dharrah is actually 24:51 even smaller than that. 24:53 >> However, since there is nothing else 24:56 generally visible to humans 24:58 >> without a microscope, a mustard seed is 25:00 what is used. The principle is that it 25:02 is something very small. That there is 25:05 something like that in their heart. 25:06 Then that is what is meant by" min 25:09 kibrin ", from the arrogance. Then a 25:13 man said, a man said" Innar-rajula 25:17 yuhibbu an yakuna... ""...thaubuhu 25:21 hasanan. ""...wa na'luhu hasanan. "He 25:25 asked," Indeed, everyone likes to have 25:28 nice clothes and nice sandals, right? " 25:32 Is that arrogance? Yes. Then the 25:35 Prophet said," Innallaha jamilun 25:37 yuhibbul jamal. "Indeed, Allah is 25:40 beautiful and loves beauty. Al-kibru, 25:44 while what is meant by arrogance is" 25:47 batrul-haqq. "Batrul-haqq wa 25:50 ghamtun-nas, which means rejecting the 25:52 truth and belittling people. Hadith 25:56 narrated by Bukhari and Muslim. Muslim 25:58 Hadith number 2749. Then in Surah 26:04 Al-Mu'minun verse 27 it is stated: *Wa 26:08 qala Musa*(and Moses said), *inni ' 26:11 udhtu*(I seek refuge), indeed I seek 26:15 refuge*bi Rabbi wa Rabbikum*(in my Lord 26:22 and your Lord, Allah). He meant it for 26:25 Pharaoh, he said that to Pharaoh: from 26:31 every person who behaves arrogantly, * 26:36 la yu'minu bi yaumil-hisab*(and he does 26:38 not believe in the Day of Reckoning). 26:42 Well, in Surah Ghafir verse 27 and 26:45 Surah An-Nahl verse 23, it is mentioned 26:47 ," innallaha la yuhibbul mustakbirin. " 26:50 Indeed, Allah does not like those who 26:53 are arrogant. See? Even if you look at 26:57 Surah Az-Zumar, it mentions" abwaba 26:59 jahannama khalidina fiha. "" wa libi'sa 27:04 mathwal mutakabbirin, "right? Enter the 27:07 gates of Hell. Now, that is the worst 27:10 place Allah has prepared for those who 27:12 are arrogant. Mashallah. May we be 27:15 spared from that, God forbid. So, the 27:17 essence of arrogance and pride—the 27:19 definition of arrogance has been stated 27:20 directly by the Prophet as" batarul 27:22 haqq wa ghamtun nas. "Now, the scope of 27:26 these traits includes self-pride, and 27:30 then, uh, excessive, uh, excessive 27:34 self-pride. Wow, to the point of 27:37 self-exaltation. Now, even a small 27:40 amount should not be allowed to become 27:44 a seed for the growth of self-pride, or 27:48 what is termed" fakhr. "There is" 27:52 alkibru, "there is" alfahru, "then 27:54 there is" al-ujub, "which is often 27:57 introduced as" ujub, "then there is 28:00 also" altih, "and also, uh, what is it 28:02 called? Arrogant, yes, it is mentioned. 28:08 Now, being amazed at oneself. This is 28:12 also dangerous, feeling better than 28:15 others. 28:16 >> But as mentioned, it is not called 28:19 arrogance if one wears nice clothes or 28:21 sandals, as long as one's heart remains 28:24 guarded, not to show off, 28:26 >> not to, uh, belittle others, and not to 28:30 boast. But they truly enjoy dressing 28:32 well and neatly. Uh, like wearing nice 28:36 sandals. Because Allah is truly 28:37 beautiful. Now, arrogance was the first 28:42 sin committed by a created being. Yes, 28:46 so arrogance was the first sin 28:48 committed by a creature. 28:49 >> A creature. 28:50 >> Among Allah's creations, there are 28:53 angels, jinn, humans, and so on. Now, 28:56 that arrogance was committed by one of 28:58 Allah's creations, namely the jinn. 29:01 >> Jinn. 29:02 >> Now, when? When Allah commanded the 29:05 angels to prostrate to Adam." Illa 29:15 Iblis "(And when We said)" lil 29:18 malaikati "(to the angels)" usjudu "( 29:21 prostrate)." usjudu liadama "(prostrate 29:28 to Prophet Adam)" fasajadu "(they all 29:30 prostrated)" illa Iblis "(except Iblis) 29:33 . Why did Iblis refuse to prostrate?" 29:36 Aba wastakbara, "he refused and acted 29:39 arrogantly; he refused and was haughty. 29:42 " Wakana minal kafirin. "And Iblis was 29:44 among the disbelievers. Now, then, uh, 29:48 he was asked." 29:51 >> Ma mana'aka. " 29:52 >> Why? 29:53 >> What prevented you from prostrating to 29:56 Prophet Adam? 29:58 >> Iblis replied," Ana khairun minhu. " 30:01 >> I am better than him." Khalaqtani min 30:04 narin wa khalaqtahu min tin. "Yes, You 30:06 created me from fire, while Adam from 30:10 clay. Wow, Mashallah. That is where the 30:14 " iktijab "or pride in oneself comes 30:15 from. So arrogance, pride, and so on 30:20 first occurred with Iblis. 30:25 >> So if there is an arrogant person, that 30:26 means they are a follower of Iblis. Yes 30:30 , so we must, we must avoid it. Let us 30:32 not become arrogant people, so we must 30:35 often seek forgiveness. Because it can 30:37 happen to anyone. 30:39 >> No exception, even for those called 30:41 ustaz, kiai, habib, or anyone else; it 30:43 can happen to anyone. 30:44 >> It can happen. 30:45 >> Yes. Oh, masyaAllah. If it reaches that 30:48 point, be careful. That is the seed of 30:51 the bad traits that happened to Iblis 30:54 earlier. That is in Surah Al-Baqarah 30:58 verse 34. Now, then hell is prepared 31:04 for arrogant people. 31:08 >> So hell is for the arrogant. That is 31:11 why in Surah Az-Zumar verse 72 it says, 31:14 " Kanadkhulu abwaba jahannama kholidina 31:16 fiha. "Enter. Yes, it is said," Enter 31:24 the gates of Jahannam. "" Kholidina 31:28 fiha, "you shall dwell therein forever. 31:31 " Wabsa matswal mutakabbirin. "So that 31:35 is the worst dwelling place for those 31:39 who are arrogant. That is, masyaAllah. 31:43 This is for my brothers and sisters. 31:46 Must be careful. Indeed. Guard your 31:49 heart, do not stain it, that's it. 31:52 MasyaAllah. Now let us look at three 31:56 traits. That bring ruin. The Prophet 32:01 said," Ala ukhbirukum? "Shall I tell 32:06 you? The Prophet was conveying this to 32:11 his companions in a hadith from 32:13 Harithah bin Wahab." Shall I tell you? 32:17 "" Shall I inform you about the people 32:19 of Paradise? "Yes, about who the 32:21 inhabitants of Paradise are. The 32:25 Prophet said," Kullu da'ifin "" 32:29 Mutada'ifin. "Those in Paradise are the 32:32 weak ones who are belittled by others. 32:37 >> Be careful, there are many. 32:39 >> So, the one you belittle might be a 32:40 person of Paradise. Oh, masyaAllah. How 32:43 shameful it will be to be exposed 32:44 before Allah later. 32:47 >> You were arrogant and strutted into 32:49 hell, while those you belittled in the 32:51 world are now in Paradise. Are you not 32:53 ashamed of that? Humiliated in the eyes 32:57 of the world, in the middle of billions 32:59 of people. MasyaAllah. Nauzubillah 33:01 minzalik. Then," Lau aqsama' alallahi 33:06 la-abbaroahu. "There. If he swears by 33:10 Allah, Allah will surely grant it. 33:13 >> When we belittle them and they feel 33:16 hurt, wronged, and then pray to Allah. 33:19 Allah grants it. Then you will feel it. 33:22 MasyaAllah, you have belittled them. 33:26 Then the Prophet said," Ala ukhbirukum 33:28 bi-ahlil nar. "Shall I tell you, shall 33:31 I inform you about the people of Hell? 33:35 He said," Kullu 'utullin jawwazin 33:41 mustakbirin. "Kullu' utullin jawwazin 33:47 mustakbirin. First, the harsh ones, as 33:52 mentioned in Surah Al-Qalam. 'Utul, the 33:57 harsh ones. Behaving unpleasantly, 34:03 their speech and actions are harsh, 34:06 making people uncomfortable around them 34:10 . Then the second, impatient. Jawwaz 34:14 means impatient. Cannot restrain 34:17 themselves from being emotional, from 34:19 being angry. 34:21 >> Cannot refrain from acting out. So when 34:24 they are slightly offended, they get 34:26 angry. 34:27 >> Well, basically, they immediately lash 34:29 out at people. That is it. Now the 34:32 third is mustakbirin. Those who are 34:35 arrogant. So these three things can 34:39 endanger a person. This is in the 34:41 hadith narrated by Bukhari number 4918 34:46 and Muslim number 2853. Alright, 34:51 brothers and sisters. Let us reflect 34:53 first, let us listen, uh, let us, what? 34:58 Absorb what we have just listened to, 35:00 and then after that we will continue 35:02 with the material. Let us add a little 35:05 more, God willing, for our discussion. 35:08 That is all, may Allah bless you. 35:10 >> Alright, we will take a break first. 35:12 Those who want to join in asking 35:13 questions, please do. We are still, uh, 35:15 we are still waiting at 0811999720. We 35:20 will return. Rasil Radio for the one 39:41 Islam, still with us, brothers and 39:42 sisters, in the afternoon lecture 39:44 program with Ustaz Wahyu KS regarding 39:46 why advice is rejected due to arrogance 39:47 . Now, that is it, yes. Let us not have 39:50 an arrogant nature. And arrogance, 39:52 earlier the Ustaz stated, because that 39:54 is, uh, what is it called? A follower 39:56 of Iblis, Ustaz. Yes, if we have an 39:58 arrogant nature. Because 39:59 >> the first creature who was arrogant is 40:01 Iblis. May Allah protect us from that. 40:03 Alright, Ustaz. We will continue to the 40:06 next points, Ustaz. Sir. 40:08 >> Alright, brothers may Allah have mercy 40:09 on you. May Allah protect you. Uh, that 40:12 in this case, the Messenger of Allah ( 40:16 peace be upon him) mentioned three 40:18 types of people who, as mentioned by 40:22 the Messenger, are those whom Allah 40:25 will not look at. Allah will not speak 40:29 to them on the Day of Resurrection. And 40:33 for them is a painful punishment. This 40:36 is a hadith narrated by Imam Muslim, 40:38 then Abu Daud, An-Nasa'i, and Ad-Darimi 40:41 . So it is mentioned like this in this 40:46 quite long hadith, which means there 40:48 are three groups that will not be 40:50 spoken to by Allah on the Day of 40:52 Resurrection. Yes. 40:56 >> Now, for them is a painful punishment. 41:00 The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon 41:01 him) then mentioned those three groups 41:06 repeatedly until he stated it three 41:08 times. 41:10 >> H 41:10 >> yes, this is because of its importance. 41:12 So if the Messenger conveyed something 41:13 important, he usually repeated it. 41:15 >> Now, including this issue. Then Abu 41:18 Dzar said," May they be ruined, O 41:22 Messenger of Allah. "Who are they, O 41:24 Messenger of Allah? The Messenger 41:27 replied," First, those who like to 41:29 lengthen their clothing, that is isbal. 41:32 " 41:32 >> Isbal 41:33 >> means covering his ankles, even though 41:37 he is a man who wears his clothes until 41:40 they exceed his ankles. Now, this is 41:44 what is widely discussed among the 41:46 scholars, how until 41:47 >> controversy 41:48 >> uh, what if it is not out of arrogance, 41:50 and so on. Many such questions. That is 41:53 okay, maybe later listeners will also 41:55 ask that. 41:56 >> What is clear is that I will convey the 41:57 hadith first. This is a hadith narrated 42:00 by Muslim number 106. In Abu Daud 42:03 number 4087, in An-Nasa'i number 455 42:09 and in Ad-Darimi number 2608. Now, then 42:15 it is mentioned that the first one is 42:17 those who like to lengthen their 42:18 clothing so that it exceeds the ankle 42:20 line. 42:21 >> Yes. Then the second, those who like to 42:24 remind others of their favors. 42:27 >> Yes. 42:27 >> Well, it's in" la tubtilu sadaqatikum 42:30 bil manni wal adza. "Do not nullify 42:33 your acts of charity 42:35 >> by reminding others of your favors or 42:37 causing hurt. 42:38 >> Yes." You just got some yesterday, and 42:41 now you're asking again? "Wow, and in 42:43 front of other people too. See, 42:45 that’s clearly hurtful, bringing up 42:48 what has been given. 42:50 >> So, be careful with this. Now, the 42:52 third type is the person who boosts 42:56 their sales with a false oath." 43:00 >> By Allah, I bought it for this much. " 43:02 Or as mentioned before, conspiring with 43:06 others, what you’d call a" shill 43:10 bidder. " 43:12 >> For example, let's say Kang Fahri is 43:15 selling me an item, a motorbike, for 10 43:18 million. Then suddenly, I offer 8 43:24 million. Suddenly, Mas Neja comes in." 43:28 Hey, I'll take it for 10 million, sell 43:31 it to me. "Now, because Kang Fahri is 43:33 worried, he says," Fine, fine, I'll 43:35 take the 10 million, I really need the 43:38 money. "It’s okay, he pays the 10 43:40 million, even though the actual market 43:42 price is just 8 million. So, Mas Neja 43:46 is my accomplice. 43:48 >> Working together. 43:49 >> Yes, working together behind the scenes 43:52 . Acting as if he were a real buyer. 43:54 But he’s actually an accomplice to 43:56 trick Kang Fahri. 43:57 >> It's a setup, a total setup. 43:58 >> Yes, it's like that. He even goes as 44:01 far as swearing an oath. For instance, 44:03 the merchant swears," By Allah, I just 44:04 sold one for 10 million yesterday. "" 44:06 And now it's 11 million. "" So now, 44:09 since Kang Fahri is selling it for 10 44:11 million, why wouldn't you want it? " 44:13 Whereas in reality, he is just swearing 44:16 to deceive. All of this falls under 44:20 those things that Allah will not look 44:22 at. Allah will not speak to them on the 44:25 Day of Judgment. Masyaallah. 44:26 Nauzubillah minzalik. Therefore, we 44:29 must be careful with this arrogant 44:32 attitude. Let me give you an example 44:41 where Ibn Umar found that" isbal "was 44:43 actually forbidden outside of prayer. 44:46 >> H 44:47 >> outside of prayer. 44:48 >> So it wasn't initially just within the 44:49 prayer. Initially 44:50 >> this prohibition from the Prophet was 44:53 outside of prayer. In a hadith narrated 44:57 by Muslim, Ibn Umar himself said," I 45:00 passed by the Prophet (peace be upon 45:02 him) and my lower garment was trailing 45:05 on the ground. "Yes. So he said," O 45:09 Abdullah, raise your garment. "" Irfa' 45:12 izaraka. "Yes," irfa 'izaraka, "raise 45:15 your garment. Then, I raised it. Then 45:21 he said again," Raise it more, raise it 45:25 more. "Then I raised it further. Since 45:31 then, I have always paid attention to 45:33 this matter, to which people ask," To 45:35 what extent? "Yes, yes. Ibn Umar (may 45:39 Allah be pleased with him) said," To 45:40 the middle of the calves. "There, to 45:42 the middle of the calves. In another 45:45 narration, it is mentioned that when 45:47 Ibn Umar asked," O Messenger, if it is 45:48 this much, may it be lowered by half? " 45:51 " You may. "He said once it reaches the 45:53 ankle, stop, he said. 45:56 >> That is enough right there. There is no 45:57 right for it to be below the ankles. So 46:00 , it turns out this is also understood 46:03 by Imam an-Nawawi, so during prayer, 46:05 the ruling is haram. Outside of prayer, 46:10 the ruling is makruh. Now, this kind of 46:14 thing is certainly still a polemic 46:15 among Muslims, right? Some say," Well, 46:18 the important thing is not to be 46:20 arrogant, "right? 46:21 >> Now, what is the reason? Abu Bakar also 46:23 practiced isbal. Let's try to look at 46:25 the complete hadith about Abu Bakar and 46:27 what it's like. Abu Bakar was a 46:30 companion who was truly protected from 46:33 arrogance. Now, when he told the 46:35 Prophet," O Messenger of Allah, it 46:37 often slips down because my body is 46:40 thin. Unless I truly tighten it. "That 46:43 means, in reality, Abu Bakar also tried 46:46 . But because his physical condition 46:49 was thin, it would sometimes slip down. 46:52 That is forgiven, it is not an 46:54 intentional factor. 46:55 >> See. Whereas now, people sometimes 46:57 intentionally cover their ankles. So, 46:59 let us evaluate this so that we are 47:02 more in line with the example of the 47:04 Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam. It 47:07 is not difficult if we are truly doing 47:09 it based on love for the Prophet 47:10 Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, it is not 47:12 heavy. 47:13 >> So if, for example, you do not agree 47:15 with what I am conveying or that it is 47:16 from the sunnah of the Prophet, please 47:18 go ahead. If you disagree, that is fine 47:21 , I am only conveying the many hadiths 47:23 about it. 47:24 >> Back in the year 2000 what year was it? 47:30 Around the 2000s. 2001, 2002 or so. I 47:33 had collected about 43 sources 47:37 >> about this. 47:39 >> And finally, I decided, if that's the 47:41 case, I will cut all my trousers. 47:44 Rather than having doubts in the heart. 47:46 Suppose we cover our ankles, in our 47:50 hearts 47:51 >> is it right or wrong? Doubts arise. So, 47:53 it is better to be safe, I just lift 47:56 them, I cut them all. 47:58 >> I had them all altered. That actually 48:01 makes the heart feel comfortable, no 48:03 more doubts, see. So, rather than being 48:05 busy dealing with differences of 48:07 opinion—some say it is allowed, some 48:09 say it is not—well, just go with the 48:12 one that is not allowed, it is clearly 48:14 safer, right? Rather than guessing, 48:17 like," Oh, maybe it is allowed. "See. 48:20 >> Rather than feeling anxious, it is 48:22 better to take the certain path. The 48:23 path that is confirmed as forbidden by 48:24 the Prophet, that is settled. So, 48:27 regardless of those who deem it haram, 48:29 makruh, or permissible. We have already 48:33 avoided it. So, let us try to carry out 48:36 the sunnah based on our love for the 48:39 Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam. 48:42 There is no need to feel embarrassed in 48:43 practicing the sunnah of the Prophet 48:45 Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, even if you 48:46 might have to be different from those 48:48 around you. 48:49 >> After all, it is better for us to be 48:51 loved by Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala, 48:52 loved by the Messenger of Allah, and to 48:54 be among those he longs for; for the 48:56 most honored person by Allah to long 48:58 for us. Those who love his Sunnah, 49:02 those who believe in him, surely we 49:05 also long for the Messenger of Allah. 49:08 That is how it is, brothers. May Allah 49:11 Subhanahu wa ta'ala grant us comfort, 49:13 grant us happiness when we love the 49:16 Sunnah of the Prophet, and keep us away 49:18 from all forms of arrogance, no matter 49:20 how small. Yes, that is all. 49:24 >> Alright. Alhamdulillah, after we have 49:26 listened together to the afternoon 49:28 tausiah delivered by the Ustadz 49:30 regarding why arrogant advice is 49:32 rejected. Many have joined on WhatsApp 49:36 to share greetings and questions sent 49:39 to 0811999720. There is a first 49:45 greeting from Mr. Arwin, thank you 49:47 Ustadz for the tausiah and 49:48 enlightenment this afternoon. Listening 49:50 , Mr. Arwin in Lenteng Agung, South 49:53 Jakarta. Then there is Mrs. Retno who 49:56 is listening. There is also Mrs. Arsi 49:58 in Sukabumi listening to the secret 50:00 this afternoon. And also Mrs. Nurjanah 50:03 binti Madioo in Sydney, Australia, 50:05 listening while cooking with Rasil. 50:08 Masyaallah. There is also Mrs. Ani Cani 50:10 Hudaifa who is always loyal to 50:12 listening to Rasil. There is also from 50:14 Mr. Baruan Betawi, there is Mr. Rama 50:18 Mitra in South Tangerang. Thank you 50:20 Ustadz for the tausiah and the advice. 50:22 Hopefully, we are kept away from the 50:24 traits of takabbur and arrogance. Amin 50:25 ya rabbal alamin. There is also this 50:28 from Mrs. or Mr. Amma Amar Radika who 50:31 is listening. And many more, Ustadz. 50:35 Let's go straight to the incoming 50:36 questions, Ustadz. The first question I 50:38 will read from Okay. Mr. Deni in Bogor. 50:44 Assalamu'alaikum warahmatullahi 50:45 wabarakatuh, Ustadz. 50:46 >> Wa'alaikumussalam warahmatullahi 50:47 wabarakatuh. Regarding the trait of 50:49 arrogance, some say that being arrogant 50:51 towards disbelievers is allowed 50:53 according to Islam. How is the 50:55 explanation, Ustadz? I 50:56 >> that is it. 50:57 >> Arrogance towards disbelievers is 50:59 allowed in what context first? Yes, in 51:01 what context first? After all, Allah 51:05 Subhanahu wa ta'ala in the Qur'an 51:06 commanded Prophet Musa and Prophet 51:08 Harun to preach to Pharaoh, may Allah's 51:11 curse be upon him. 51:13 >> To Pharaoh, may he be cursed, with 51:15 kaulan layyinan, 51:16 >> kindly. 51:17 >> Yes. to speak gently. 51:19 >> H 51:19 >> and speak gently so he may think, so he 51:22 may understand. So, there is what? 51:28 There is a time when it is allowed to 51:30 act arrogantly towards disbelievers. I 51:32 mean not the disbeliever, but arrogance 51:34 towards someone who is arrogant, even 51:35 to a disbeliever. 51:37 >> So to bring down another person's 51:40 arrogance, we show them ours. 51:42 >> Correct. 51:43 >> To make them realize it, yes. For 51:45 example, let's say this. Mr. Fahri is 51:47 arrogant, for example, with his 51:49 extraordinarily large income. 51:53 >> Now, we say," Mr. Fahri, there is 51:57 someone who earns much, much more than 52:00 you, " 52:02 >> something like that. But thank God, 52:04 he's still a good person, you know. 52:06 >> Yes, my apologies. My apologies if I 52:08 offended you. 52:09 >> It’s not like Brother Fahri, you see. 52:11 Huh. 52:12 >> Brother Fahri looks a bit different, 52:14 doesn't he? 52:15 >> He's changed, his walk is upright now, 52:18 whereas he used to be hunched over. But 52:21 he remains a good person. 52:22 >> Yes, he even shares his profits with 52:26 others. 52:27 >> Hopefully, Brother Fahri can become 52:29 even better than that. Actually, 52:31 that’s a way of making someone 52:33 realize it. 52:35 >> By showing the virtues of others who 52:38 are better than himself. 52:40 >> As an example, you know. Yes, that’s 52:42 an example. That’s what it means when 52:44 they say being arrogant toward an 52:46 arrogant person is an act of charity. 52:48 >> H. 52:50 >> So, what it means is that people are 52:53 sometimes deceived by appearances. 52:56 >> Yes, by appearances. 52:58 >> Then, once it's revealed that the 53:00 person who was belittled is actually 53:02 far more noble. That is, Mashallah. In 53:05 this regard, there is an interesting 53:08 story about Abu Dharr and Bilal. 53:11 >> Bilal bin Rabah; once, Khalid bin Walid 53:14 gathered the companions to discuss war 53:17 strategy. 53:18 >> Yes. 53:19 >> They were asked for suggestions and 53:21 input. 53:22 >> Suddenly, Abu Dharr Al-Ghifari raised 53:24 his hand to propose an idea. Then, 53:26 Bilal interjected." Ah, I don't think 53:30 that fits, "he said. Like that. Noah. 53:33 Abu Dharr heard him and got angry. He 53:36 said," Quiet, you son of a black woman! 53:39 " 53:40 >> Yes. He immediately belittled him, 53:42 right?" You son of a black woman. " 53:44 Bilal was from Ethiopia, so he was 53:47 being belittled for that. Bilal was 53:49 shocked, like," Why? " 53:51 >> Like that. 53:52 >> How could he go that far? Even though 53:53 he could have just said," 53:54 >> That doesn't fit, what do you think 53:57 would be a better fit? "That would have 53:59 been nicer, right? But he was 54:00 immediately offended, you see. 54:02 >> He went after his physical traits. 54:04 >> He insulted his appearance directly. 54:06 >> It wasn't his body, but his parents he 54:08 mentioned. 54:09 >> His parents." 54:10 >> Oh, be quiet, you son of a black woman. 54:11 "Bilal bin Rabah finally said," I will 54:15 tell the Messenger of Allah. "The 54:18 Messenger. 54:19 >> Bilal went to complain. Then he came to 54:20 the Prophet." O Messenger of Allah, Abu 54:22 Dharr called me the son of a black 54:24 woman. "Then the Prophet (peace be upon 54:27 him) met with Abu Dharr." O Abu Dharr. 54:30 "" Is it true that you said such and 54:32 such? "Yes. Now, then Abu Dharr replied 54:36 ," It is true, O Messenger of Allah. " 54:37 The Prophet said," Indeed, there is an 54:39 act of Jahiliyyah (ignorance) in your 54:41 speech. " 54:42 >> Yeah. 54:43 >> Know that the sound of Bilal's sandals 54:46 was already heard in Paradise. 54:50 >> Yes, even though. 54:51 >> Such an expression is a sign that the 54:53 Prophet (PBUH) elevated Bilal's status. 54:55 Right? Yeah. Is it appropriate for an 54:59 Abu Dharr Al-Ghifari to exceed the 55:00 judgment of the Prophet (PBUH)? 55:02 Obviously. It's impossible. This is a 55:05 person most glorified by Allah, who 55:06 cherished Bilal bin Rabah. 55:08 >> How could he insult him? There. So, as 55:11 a form of apology, what did Bilal do? 55:13 Abu Dzar waited for Bilal to pass by. 55:15 >> Yeah. 55:17 >> As soon as Bilal passed, he immediately 55:19 stood before Bilal, placed one of his 55:22 cheeks on the ground, and asked Bilal 55:24 to step on the other. Asking for 55:27 forgiveness." 55:28 >> Bilal, step on my cheek, step on my 55:30 cheek, you are younger than me. " 55:33 >> Meaning to apologize, try to imagine 55:34 that, we rarely see things like that, 55:36 right? 55:36 >> Is there anyone like that? 55:38 >> Now, this Abu Dzar, masyaallah, finally 55:40 Bilal said, then he got down and held 55:43 his shoulder," It's okay, my brother. " 55:45 " 55:46 >> I have forgiven you, "they embraced and 55:49 forgave each other, masyaallah, how 55:52 beautiful is that. If everything is 55:55 based on sincerity, 55:57 >> then arrogance will disappear. 56:00 >> But try if someone insists on their 56:01 pride," Oh, I don't want to. " 56:03 >> Still stubborn." 56:04 >> Why should I be the one to apologize to 56:05 Bilal? "" He was the one who was wrong, 56:07 you know. "See, masyaallah. Even though 56:10 when two people, two Muslims, are in a 56:12 dispute, the most noble in the sight of 56:14 Allah is the one who apologizes first, 56:18 >> the one who is the first to say salam, 56:19 even if they are in the right. 56:21 >> Yes. 56:21 >> Masyaallah. Can you do that? 56:25 >> It's not easy, right? Now, this goes 56:28 back to the softness of the heart. 56:30 >> That is why Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala 56:33 commanded Prophet Musa to speak with" 56:35 qaulan layyinan "to 56:37 >> Pharaoh. 56:37 >> Pharaoh. 56:40 >> With the hope that he would remember 56:42 Allah, to become aware, but it turned 56:44 out Pharaoh couldn't. Yeah. 56:47 >> So, it was conveyed earlier in Surah 56:50 Al-Mu'min, verse 27, 56:53 >> that Allah does not love those who are 56:55 arrogant like Pharaoh. 56:57 >> Yes. 56:57 >> Well, that's it. 56:59 >> Alright, back to the next question from 57:04 Amma. Assalamu'alaikum warahmatullahi 57:06 wabarakatuh, Ustaz. 57:06 >> Wa'alaikumsalam warahmatullahi 57:08 wabarakatuh. 57:08 >> Amma Radika." If I give advice to 57:12 someone older, what if I give advice to 57:15 someone older but they turn it back on 57:17 us by saying' You yourself are not even 57:20 doing it right yet '? " 57:23 >> Actually, I give advice based on the 57:25 experience I had before. So what should 57:28 I do? Am I still allowed to give advice 57:31 or not, Ustaz? Because their words are 57:33 quite hurtful. Thank you. 57:35 >> In the Quran, there are three criteria. 57:40 In our preaching, there are also three 57:43 methods for giving advice. In our 57:47 preaching, Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala 57:49 says," Invite to the way of your Lord 57:51 with wisdom and good instruction and 57:53 argue with them in a way that is best. 57:56 "Yes, invite them to the path of Allah 57:59 with wisdom, with a wise attitude, with 58:02 knowledge, especially if their level is 58:06 above us. 58:07 >> Yes. Don't let it seem patronizing, 58:09 just be informative or ask for their 58:11 opinion. Oh, so maybe the method was 58:14 wrong. 58:16 >> If our language seems patronizing, they 58:18 will be offended, right? Because even 58:22 though pride is forbidden when 58:24 accepting the truth, as advisors, we 58:28 must know the ethics. 58:31 >> Proportional. 58:32 >> Because Allah also guides us to do that 58:34 . 58:34 >> Yes, with wisdom. With wisdom. Well, 58:37 wisdom can mean acting wisely, or it 58:39 can mean using knowledge, 58:41 >> yes, through argumentation like that. 58:44 Now, there is an interesting example 58:47 from the stories of the companions, the 58:50 salaf, the scholars of the past, about 58:53 a child who wanted to correct someone's 58:56 ablution. 58:58 >> Yeah. 58:59 >> Even though both of them were actually 59:00 correct. They saw an older man 59:02 performing his ablution incorrectly. 59:04 >> Uh-huh. So, they asked for his help, 59:06 sir." Sir, "if we were to put it in our 59:08 language," 59:09 >> Excuse me, sir, could you help us, 59:10 please? "" My friend and I are arguing 59:13 about the proper way to perform 59:15 ablution. "" 59:16 >> Could you please watch both of us to 59:18 see who is right? "So, both of them 59:20 performed their ablution. And both of 59:22 them were correct, right? 59:23 >> The older man watched them and thought, 59:26 " 59:26 >> Oh, their ablution is actually better 59:27 than mine, "like that." Now, that is a 59:29 small example of how to advise someone. 59:31 "There is also a story from the Alfatah 59:33 boarding school. 59:34 >> Yeah. 59:34 >> I still remember a 4-year-old child 59:38 when a guest came, 59:40 >> a guest at the boarding school. 59:41 >> Now, when they came out of the mosque, 59:44 >> yeah. 59:44 >> They put on their left shoe first. Left 59:49 shoe first, right? The child just 59:51 stayed silent. Then they were asked," 59:54 Why are you quiet, son? "" 59:56 >> How would you advise them? "The child 59:58 was thinking about what was wrong. 1:00:01 >> Then after a while, they took off the 1:00:03 shoe, 1:00:04 >> took off the shoe and changed to the 1:00:07 right one first, 1:00:08 >> and then the child left. 1:00:11 >> So the point is, they probably wanted 1:00:12 to advise but were afraid because they 1:00:14 were just a small child, mashallah, it 1:00:15 was very simple. 1:00:17 >> It went that far. So the phrase earlier 1:00:20 , first was' bil hikmah '(with wisdom). 1:00:22 Second is' wal mau'idhatul hasanah ', 1:00:24 advising in a good way. This is usually 1:00:27 applied to those in a lower social 1:00:29 standing than us. 1:00:31 >> Yeah. 1:00:31 >> Laypeople, for example, or those who 1:00:34 are intellectually lower. Now, as for' 1:00:38 wajadilhum billati hiya ahsan 'or 1:00:40 debating, that is usually done with 1:00:43 people who are equal in knowledge, 1:00:46 >> with peers. For instance, Kang Pahri 1:00:50 and Mas Neja are equals, so feel free 1:00:52 to debate, but don't try, Kang Arawi, 1:00:54 to invite the speaker to debate; that 1:00:56 could cause problems. But if you want 1:00:59 to give advice, advise with wisdom. 1:01:01 >> That's fine, for example, if Mas Neja, 1:01:03 Kang Pahri, or Bang Yusuf see that I am 1:01:06 wrong, don't hesitate. 1:01:08 >> Yes, just correct me, because we 1:01:10 shouldn't underestimate anyone, right? 1:01:13 >> It could be. 1:01:15 >> Things that we sometimes consider bad, 1:01:18 in reality, might provide an 1:01:20 extraordinary contribution. 1:01:24 >> Now, that is in the context of da'wah. 1:01:26 Regarding advice, Allah mentions' 1:01:28 tawasau bil-haqq wa tawasau bis-sabr wa 1:01:30 tawasau bil-marhamah '. Advising must 1:01:32 first be based on truth. Meaning, we 1:01:34 must truly be certain that it is 1:01:36 justified. 1:01:37 >> There is a basis or proof, even if we 1:01:39 haven't memorized it. 1:01:40 >> For example, a case like this." 1:01:43 >> Ustaz, forgive me, I have heard it 1:01:46 before. "" I heard it from the Quran, 1:01:49 but I forgot the verse, but the 1:01:50 sentence was like this. "Well, they 1:01:53 only remember a little, right? 1:01:54 >> So, how is it? Well, that means it's 1:01:57 based on*bilhaq*(the truth), or perhaps 1:01:59 they ran a hadith of the Prophet (pbuh) 1:02:01 that they said was authentic, so maybe 1:02:03 the Ustadz can explain it, as if asking 1:02:05 . 1:02:06 >> but with a clear source. So, conveying 1:02:09 the truth, or when we advise others 1:02:11 based on a certain verse of the Quran 1:02:14 or a certain hadith, it should be like 1:02:16 this. That is what is called*bilhaq*. 1:02:18 >> Second, *bisabr*, with patience, 1:02:21 >> not emotionally. 1:02:22 >> Hm. 1:02:23 >> See, with patience. Patience, as 1:02:26 mentioned earlier, includes*al-habsu*. 1:02:27 Patience is restraining oneself. 1:02:29 >> Yeah. 1:02:29 >> Restraining oneself from bad deeds, 1:02:31 restraining oneself from bad speech, 1:02:33 forbidden things, and so on. Now, then 1:02:35 the third is*bil marhamah*. with 1:02:39 compassion, done*watawa...watawa...** 1:02:44 bilhaq*, *watawa bisabr*, and*watawa 1:02:46 bil marhamah*, with compassion, not 1:02:48 with hatred, right? 1:02:50 >> See, if inside there is an element, 1:02:53 that element of emotion, 1:02:55 >> yes, there is hatred, there is, uh, a 1:02:58 feeling of envy or a desire to corner 1:03:00 someone, then the result will certainly 1:03:02 be bad. 1:03:05 >> So, this is where Imam Ali states that 1:03:07 something that is, uh, firm in the 1:03:09 heart, pure in the heart, will also 1:03:11 reach and be pure in the hearts of 1:03:13 others. MasyaAllah. That is why it is 1:03:17 important for us to always guard our 1:03:19 hearts. Do not have the intention to 1:03:21 bring someone down, discredit them, or 1:03:23 embarrass them, especially. Do not let 1:03:25 that happen. 1:03:26 >> Like that. 1:03:27 >> So there are ethics, Ustadz, right? 1:03:29 >> Don't let, uh, like embarrassing 1:03:30 someone in public either, no, not like 1:03:32 that. MasyaAllah. Next, we turn to the 1:03:36 next question from, uh, Ibu Retno. 1:03:38 Assalamu'alaikum warahmatullahi 1:03:40 wabarakatuh, Ustadz. 1:03:40 >> Wa'alaikumussalam warahmatullahi 1:03:42 wabarakatuh. 1:03:43 >> Ustadz, how do we deal with an arrogant 1:03:45 person who, when we greet them, remains 1:03:46 indifferent and doesn't return our 1:03:48 greeting? What should our attitude be? 1:03:51 >> Yes, 1:03:52 >> like that, sir. 1:03:54 >> First, uh, if we can, say the greeting 1:03:57 right in front of them. No, the 1:04:02 greeting shouldn't be, it shouldn't be 1:04:04 soft, you know. 1:04:05 >> Hm. 1:04:05 >> But if they don't answer, that's fine. 1:04:08 After all, we get rewards for greeting. 1:04:12 >> Yes. 1:04:12 >> It is a sunnah, and we hope for a 1:04:14 reward from Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. 1:04:16 Don't, don't expect a reward from them. 1:04:18 >> They can't give rewards, right? 1:04:20 >> Our hope is in Allah. But for them, it 1:04:22 becomes obligatory; they commit a sin 1:04:24 by not answering it. Yeah. 1:04:26 >> Well, maybe once, twice, right, 1:04:28 eventually they will be like that. I 1:04:31 have experienced this myself. 1:04:33 >> I have greeted someone several times, 1:04:34 they just stayed silent and didn't 1:04:36 answer, right. One time, I went 1:04:37 straight to their front and said 1:04:39 Assalamu'alaikum. They were shocked. 1:04:42 Assalamu'alaikum, I said. 1:04:44 >> Wa'alaikumussalam. See, they were even 1:04:45 shocked, right. See, masyaAllah. That's 1:04:48 because sometimes people aren't used to 1:04:50 it. 1:04:50 >> Yes. Yes, it could also be because, as 1:04:52 I said, there is a feeling of grudge in 1:04:54 the heart, a feeling of hatred in the 1:04:55 heart. Yes, by saying the greeting, it 1:04:57 is a prayer, God willing, it will 1:04:59 soften a person. That is what the 1:05:02 Prophet meant earlier, the person who 1:05:04 is the first to offer greetings is the 1:05:06 most noble in the sight of Allah, the 1:05:07 Almighty. 1:05:10 >> Oh, so if a dispute or misunderstanding 1:05:13 occurs, for example, masyaallah. I have 1:05:17 encountered cases like that a few times 1:05:18 . There are people who just stay silent 1:05:21 . I approach them directly, say" 1:05:23 Assalamu'alaikum, "and catch their eye. 1:05:26 My mouth is visible to them, right? In 1:05:28 the end, they have no choice but to 1:05:30 reply" Wa'alaikumsalam. " 1:05:31 >> Perhaps they were afraid they didn't 1:05:32 hear it? 1:05:32 >> Well, at first, they pretend not to 1:05:34 hear it. Now, what about the response 1:05:37 mentioned earlier? Returning good for 1:05:40 the evil that they have done. In the 1:05:44 Quran, in Surah Fussilat, it is 1:05:46 mentioned," idfa' billati hiya ahsan, 1:05:48 fa idhalladhi bainaka wa bainahu ' 1:05:50 adawatun ka'annahu waliyyun hamim. "Yes 1:05:52 . So, repel evil with good, so that the 1:05:56 one you were enemies with becomes a 1:05:59 friend, an ally. Masyaallah, from 1:06:02 enmity to a loyal friend. That is truly 1:06:05 extraordinary, and it happened to the 1:06:06 Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. So 1:06:08 many of the companions, including Abu 1:06:11 Sufyan, said," When I was in my 1:06:13 pre-Islamic state, there was no one I 1:06:16 hated more than Muhammad, and after I 1:06:19 embraced Islam, there was no one I 1:06:21 loved more than Muhammad. "Wow, 1:06:24 masyaallah. This shows that things can 1:06:28 indeed change. And that change belongs 1:06:31 to Allah. We just leave it to Him. 1:06:33 >> Yes. 1:06:34 >> Just pray for them. If we repeatedly do 1:06:37 good but they do not return that 1:06:39 kindness, we just pray to Allah. 1:06:42 >> Do not put your hope in humans. 1:06:44 >> If you rely on humans, you will be 1:06:45 disappointed often. 1:06:46 >> He he he. 1:06:47 >> Yes, masyaallah. That is all. 1:06:50 >> Ustaz, these are also the greetings 1:06:52 coming in from the YouTube comments on 1:06:54 Rasil TV today, for those...who are 1:06:58 following our live broadcast, which 1:07:00 account is this? Umi Midah is tuning in 1:07:04 . There is also the YouTube account 1:07:06 Mezia, who is also tuning in. There is 1:07:12 Rahma Mitra, also Ibu Cani is tuning in 1:07:15 , Muhammad Aid is here, as well as 1:07:17 Retno SW, and a question that came in 1:07:19 the YouTube comments from the account 1:07:22 Wiji Rahayu. Assalamu'alaikum 1:07:25 warahmatullahi wabarakatuh, Ustaz. 1:07:26 >> Wa'alaikumsalam warahmatullahi 1:07:28 wabarakatuh. 1:07:28 >> May I ask a question, Ustaz? Is pride 1:07:30 something that only exists in speech, 1:07:32 or is it in the heart? Is it both, or 1:07:35 just speech, or just the heart? Ustaz, 1:07:37 as has been mentioned in the scripture 1:07:39 earlier. That is why the Prophet 1:07:42 mentioned" fi qolbihi, "in the heart. 1:07:44 The origin of pride is in the heart. 1:07:46 Speech is just a consequence. 1:07:48 >> H. 1:07:48 >> Some is manifested in speech, and some 1:07:50 is not. 1:07:51 >> Correct. 1:07:52 >> Some is not manifested in speech, but 1:07:53 through attitude. 1:07:54 >> Their attitude, right? 1:07:54 >> Yes, their arrogant posture and 1:07:57 demeanor. Then in their heart, they 1:08:00 suddenly feel superior, proud, even 1:08:02 puffing out their chest. Now, all of 1:08:05 that can happen, but it all starts from 1:08:07 the heart. Therefore, it is said," 1:08:09 Al-qolbu kal malik. "The heart is like 1:08:11 a king." Fasada fasada sairul amali. " 1:08:14 If it is good, then all other deeds 1:08:16 will be good. If the heart is good, all 1:08:19 deeds will be good. But if the heart is 1:08:21 corrupt, all deeds will be corrupt. 1:08:23 That is why we must guard our hearts 1:08:25 there. And arrogance is the primary 1:08:29 disease, or well, arrogance is the 1:08:32 first bad deed committed by a creature. 1:08:37 >> Yes. 1:08:37 >> Namely, the devil towards Prophet Adam. 1:08:41 So, we must not possess that trait; 1:08:43 some people display arrogance with 1:08:46 their words. There are those who say," 1:08:50 I'm sorry, I'm not being arrogant, but 1:08:52 ... " 1:08:54 >> Arrogant." 1:08:54 >> I am not arrogant. "Sometimes I find it 1:08:57 funny when people do that." Well, 1:08:59 excuse me, I'm not being arrogant, I 1:09:00 also have this and that, "and then they 1:09:02 list their achievements." Oh, I have 1:09:04 memorized this much. "" I have devoured 1:09:06 hundreds of books, "and so on." Look, 1:09:09 I'm not being arrogant. "Well, the one 1:09:11 who knows it is arrogance is the heart 1:09:13 itself. 1:09:14 >> And Allah knows best that what he is 1:09:16 doing will actually ruin his heart. 1:09:20 >> Just so others will say," Wow. "Wow, 1:09:23 this is truly a heavy matter, it can 1:09:29 affect anyone. It doesn't mean that 1:09:33 because I have this theory, I am 1:09:34 automatically safe from it. Not 1:09:36 necessarily; it is very possible that 1:09:39 sometimes we unknowingly state things 1:09:42 that lead to arrogance. 1:09:44 >> See. Masyaallah. Therefore, we must 1:09:46 seek forgiveness from Allah often. 1:09:48 >> We must ask Allah for forgiveness for 1:09:50 the filth of this heart. Because people 1:09:52 enter hell not due to physical diseases 1:09:55 , but because of heart diseases. 1:09:57 >> Hmm. 1:09:58 >> That is so. 1:09:59 >> That is why we must guard our hearts, 1:10:01 Ustaz. 1:10:01 >> Yes. Do not taint it. Masyaallah. There 1:10:04 is Mr. Baron Betawi. Peace be upon you, 1:10:07 Ustaz. 1:10:07 >> And peace be upon you too. 1:10:09 >> Regarding the*isbal*you mentioned 1:10:12 earlier, Ustaz. Why do people, or even 1:10:15 some preachers who know the prohibition 1:10:18 against lengthening clothes below the 1:10:20 ankles, still violate it as if they 1:10:22 deliberately let them sag? Why go 1:10:26 against Allah's law, Ustaz? Why is that 1:10:28 the case? Is it because there is 1:10:30 arrogance in their hearts? Please 1:10:32 enlighten us, Ustaz. 1:10:33 >> Yes. Allah knows best. If I have to 1:10:36 guess what is in someone's heart, I am 1:10:38 incapable. Allah is the one who knows 1:10:41 whether one is arrogant or not. But it 1:10:44 is clear that in the explanation of the 1:10:46 book*Al-Kabair*, Imam Adz-Dzahabi 1:10:49 mentions that arrogance in clothing is 1:10:51 letting it fall below the ankles. 1:10:54 >> That's it. So that is what is called* 1:10:58 al-khuyala*, that arrogance which then 1:11:00 causes vanity, and usually in the 1:11:03 Middle East, the elites indeed cover 1:11:05 their ankles. 1:11:07 >> Yes. 1:11:08 >> So we rarely see scholars covering 1:11:10 their ankles with their garments. 1:11:13 >> And the Prophet, peace be upon him, 1:11:15 throughout his life, his garments were 1:11:17 always above his ankles. 1:11:19 >> Now, the companions too, like Umar bin 1:11:20 Khattab, were very firm. Even when Umar 1:11:24 bin Khattab was in a critical condition 1:11:25 after being stabbed by Abu Lu'lu'ah, 1:11:27 while in pain, he was visited by a 1:11:29 young man. So, after seeing the young 1:11:33 man pass by to take his leave, right. 1:11:35 Umar looked and saw his garment was 1:11:38 below his ankles. 1:11:40 >> Then Umar said," Ya shabab, irfa' 1:11:43 izaraka. "" O young man, raise your 1:11:46 garment. "See. MashaAllah. This shows 1:11:49 how much attention the Prophet and the 1:11:51 companions paid to the issue of 1:11:53 garments on the feet. So, there is 1:11:56 etiquette when Muslims dress. As for 1:11:59 why there is an ustadz or a kyai who 1:12:01 does otherwise, wallahu a'lam 1:12:03 bish-shawab. I cannot guess what is in 1:12:05 their hearts. But what is certain is 1:12:08 perhaps they have another 1:12:09 interpretation or understanding, as if 1:12:12 it is allowed as long as one is not 1:12:13 arrogant. With the note that if we 1:12:17 delve deeper into the commentary of the 1:12:20 hadith regarding Abu Bakar's incident, 1:12:22 Abu Bakar was the person most guarded 1:12:25 against arrogance. 1:12:27 >> Yes. After the Prophet (peace be upon 1:12:28 him), it was Abu Bakar, including Umar 1:12:30 as mentioned earlier. Yet they kept 1:12:32 trying to avoid isbal. And Abu Bakar 1:12:36 himself, being thin, his garment would 1:12:38 often slip down unless he made a 1:12:40 serious effort. That shows that the 1:12:43 essential truth is that it should 1:12:45 clearly not be isbal. 1:12:48 >> Like that. So, if you want to hold on 1:12:50 to your view, please go ahead. If you 1:12:53 have evidence or the conviction that it 1:12:55 is correct to do so, please do, we will 1:12:58 return to Allah later and be 1:12:59 responsible individually. But, the 1:13:02 point is we must not blame each other. 1:13:04 We must not blame those who practice 1:13:06 isbal. Especially if someone says they 1:13:08 do not practice isbal but acts 1:13:10 arrogantly. That's messy. It means that 1:13:14 someone who does not practice isbal, 1:13:16 who wears their garment above the 1:13:17 ankles, must also possess humility. 1:13:20 >> So, remain humble while keeping the 1:13:23 garment above the ankles. Yes, not 1:13:26 covering the ankles is actually their 1:13:28 effort to follow the Sunnah of the 1:13:29 Prophet (peace be upon him). 1:13:32 >> And the Prophet was the most humble 1:13:33 person. The Prophet was the most humble 1:13:36 person, yet he guarded against isbal. 1:13:39 We must not avoid isbal, not covering 1:13:42 the ankles, while being arrogant. That 1:13:45 would mean mixing the truth with 1:13:48 falsehood. That is 1:13:49 >> a contradiction. 1:13:51 >> Because that is often the problem. 1:13:52 >> Yes. Because eventually, they belittle 1:13:55 those who do practice isbal. 1:13:58 >> Yes. 1:13:58 >> Sometimes it is like this. There is a 1:14:01 person or a community. 1:14:04 >> They do not want to accept advice if 1:14:05 the ustadz practices isbal. 1:14:07 >> Hmm. They even refuse to be led in 1:14:09 prayer. If the ustadz practices isbal. 1:14:12 If the ustadz giving the advice is seen 1:14:15 , 1:14:16 >> they say his beard is trimmed, not 1:14:18 according to the Sunnah. Then, oh, his 1:14:20 garment is also below his ankles." Ah, 1:14:22 I don't want it, I'll say just go away. 1:14:24 " 1:14:24 >> Yes. 1:14:24 >> There are people like that. MashaAllah. 1:14:27 So, things like this should not happen. 1:14:30 Let us be proportional and put 1:14:32 everything in its proper place. The 1:14:35 point is, we must indeed avoid all 1:14:36 prohibitions. 1:14:38 >> Yes, but do not let small matters in 1:14:42 the dynamics of life or even those 1:14:45 related to jurisprudence issues, 1:14:49 >> result in a rift in our brotherhood, 1:14:51 >> yes. 1:14:51 >> Where the sin could be much greater. 1:14:53 >> So, that is how it is. 1:14:55 >> Alright. Regarding matters of 1:14:57 difference of opinion, perhaps we can, 1:14:58 what do you call it? Respect each other 1:15:00 as well, yes. Yes, understood. 1:15:01 >> Understood. 1:15:02 >> But we must be more careful. 1:15:04 >> Careful. 1:15:06 >> From Mrs. Aminah. This is still about ' 1:15:08 isbal' as well, Ustadz. Peace be upon 1:15:09 you, and Allah's mercy and blessings. 1:15:11 >> And peace be upon you, and Allah's 1:15:12 mercy and blessings. 1:15:12 >> May I ask, is it allowed for women to 1:15:15 cover their ankles, Ustadz? 1:15:17 >> For women, it is actually encouraged ( 1:15:18 sunnah). 1:15:18 >> Encouraged, yes. 1:15:20 >> The sunnah of 'isbal' for women, is 1:15:22 even, if possible, up to one span from 1:15:25 the ankle. 1:15:27 >> Hm. 1:15:28 >> See, it goes that far. Up to one span. 1:15:30 >> Yes, especially when praying. 1:15:32 >> So that when prostrating, the soles of 1:15:35 the feet are also covered. So, for 1:15:37 women, 'isbal' is a sunnah, 1:15:40 >> while for men, 'isbal' is prohibited. 1:15:43 >> That is the benchmark, yes. Masya Allah 1:15:45 . 1:15:46 >> From Mr. Rama Mitra in South Tangerang. 1:15:48 Peace be upon you, and Allah's mercy 1:15:49 and blessings, Ustadz. 1:15:50 >> And peace be upon you, and Allah's 1:15:51 mercy and blessings. 1:15:52 >> Ustadz, if someone shows off in their 1:15:54 dressing, appearing excessive, tacky, 1:15:56 or gaudy, does that fall into the 1:15:58 category of arrogance, Ustadz? Please 1:16:01 provide some enlightenment. 1:16:02 >> Well, that was the story earlier about 1:16:06 the companions who dressed well, but in 1:16:09 the sense—in quotes—in a reasonable 1:16:12 form. 1:16:14 >> Reasonable means not too flashy. 1:16:17 Because if it is flashy, it will 1:16:19 clearly hurt people who are simple, for 1:16:21 instance, the poor. Poor people who— 1:16:25 let alone dressing luxuriously like 1:16:27 that—cannot even afford to dress 1:16:29 simply. 1:16:31 >> Yes. 1:16:32 >> If, for example, in a poor society 1:16:35 where the economy is middle-to-lower 1:16:39 class, 1:16:40 >> suddenly someone comes dressed like a 1:16:44 king or a high-ranking official, 1:16:47 wearing a full suit, everything 1:16:50 complete, 1:16:51 >> everything expensive, yes. So it 1:16:52 becomes conspicuous. This must also be 1:16:56 avoided because arrogance can grow from 1:16:59 it. 1:17:00 >> Therefore, it is better if we try to 1:17:04 equalize or adjust, even if not exactly 1:17:08 the same as those around us, but we 1:17:11 should not be too flashy, 1:17:14 >> because it will disturb the heart. 1:17:16 >> Hm. 1:17:16 >> See. So indeed, the heart must be 1:17:18 guarded in that regard. 1:17:19 >> Yes. 1:17:19 >> Yes, must be guarded there. Masya Allah 1:17:21 . That is why there are often stories, 1:17:24 sometimes a director disguises himself 1:17:25 as a parking attendant, for example. 1:17:28 >> Disguising as a scavenger, for instance 1:17:31 , just to find sincere people. This is 1:17:34 a reasonable thing to do. And I was 1:17:36 told by my friend, a husband and wife 1:17:39 who are wealthy. 1:17:41 >> Hm. 1:17:42 >> He told me," Ustadz, my wife and I once 1:17:47 agreed to dress simply. "Hm. 1:17:51 >> Yes. Then I walked the whole way. 1:17:55 >> At that time, people looked at me and 1:17:58 squinted, they said. 1:18:00 >> Hm. 1:18:02 >> Well, those who didn't know my 1:18:03 situation at home, they squinted at me. 1:18:07 But we had prepared ourselves, that we 1:18:10 must be patient with others 'glances 1:18:12 and views and so on. Just be patient 1:18:16 the whole way while walking barefoot 1:18:18 >> and wearing very simple clothes. The 1:18:20 husband and wife agreed to do that 1:18:23 >> walking like that. Even though he was 1:18:25 just out for a healthy walk, but 1:18:26 barefoot. 1:18:28 >> It turns out the story is true, right 1:18:31 >> like the story of Luqman al-Hakim, 1:18:33 right. Naturally, people's opinions 1:18:35 will always vary. 1:18:36 >> Yes. 1:18:37 >> Most humans look at physical factors, 1:18:39 as is clear in the hadith. Innallaha 1:18:43 ta'ala la yanzuru ila suwarikum. Verily 1:18:45 , Allah Ta'ala will not look at your 1:18:47 appearance. Allah will not look at your 1:18:52 wealth either. Allah will not look at 1:18:55 your lineage either. Allah will only 1:19:00 look at your hearts and your deeds. 1:19:02 >> Yes. 1:19:02 >> Oh, masyaallah. So the fact is in the 1:19:05 field, many people are still deceived 1:19:07 by physical 1:19:08 >> appearance. 1:19:09 >> That is why we should never 1:19:11 >> get trapped just by seeing a person 1:19:13 like this and immediately conclude, oh, 1:19:16 this must be this kind of person. So we 1:19:19 treat them half-heartedly. 1:19:21 >> But when they are dressed in a suit, 1:19:23 wearing a tie, 1:19:25 >> stepping out of a car, we are so 1:19:26 respectful, even though the car might 1:19:28 be a rental. 1:19:29 >> Well, he could also be a swindler, 1:19:30 right, that's possible. It could be. 1:19:32 >> Well, masyaallah. Now, there is this 1:19:35 one case. A developing Islamic boarding 1:19:38 school was visited by someone claiming 1:19:41 to be a donor distributor from the 1:19:44 Middle East. 1:19:45 >> Hm. 1:19:46 >> Then, after that, the boarding school 1:19:50 welcomed him well. Welcomed him well, 1:19:54 even provided extraordinary hospitality 1:19:57 . Then he asked for the school's 1:20:00 profile, saying he would help get the 1:20:02 funds released. Then it was translated 1:20:05 into Arabic. It was made, it was 1:20:07 prepared. 1:20:09 >> Not long after that, he left. 1:20:12 >> No goodbye, no word, no news until 1:20:15 today. 1:20:16 >> For years 1:20:17 >> there has never been any news again. 1:20:19 >> So, this is an example like that. And 1:20:21 by the will of Allah, I met the person 1:20:24 at that time. He. 1:20:25 >> Even I still don't know where that 1:20:27 person is now. But clearly, he took it, 1:20:30 so he is a robber. 1:20:32 >> And it could be that it was submitted 1:20:34 over there. 1:20:35 >> Yes. The 1:20:35 >> funds were released but not given to us 1:20:38 , so 1:20:38 >> that is an example. 1:20:40 >> Yes. Masyaallah. So we must be careful 1:20:42 not to get trapped just by looking at 1:20:44 appearances alone 1:20:45 >> because that appearance might deceive 1:20:47 us. 1:20:49 >> That is all. 1:20:50 >> Don't judge a book by its cover, they 1:20:51 say, like that. 1:20:53 >> Masyaallah. There is another one, Ustaz 1:20:54 . A question that came in, if there is 1:20:56 still time, from Mr. Yusman. 1:20:57 Assalamu'alaikum warahmatullahi 1:20:58 wabarakatuh, Ustaz. 1:20:59 >> Wa'alaikumussalam warahmatullahi 1:21:00 wabarakatuh. 1:21:01 >> Ustaz, there are people who are very 1:21:03 bold and knowledgeable when advising 1:21:05 others, but when they are advised, they 1:21:07 get offended. Is this a sign that 1:21:10 someone has been afflicted by the 1:21:12 disease of arrogance? 1:21:13 >> That is all, Ustaz. 1:21:14 >> It is true that there are indeed people 1:21:16 like that. 1:21:16 >> Sometimes it happens, yes. 1:21:17 >> Yes, we might even be like that 1:21:19 sometimes. 1:21:20 >> Yes. It feels good to give advice, 1:21:21 right? Yes, isn't it? Sometimes it 1:21:23 really is pleasant to advise people. 1:21:26 But when the advice is turned back on 1:21:27 them, wow, they get offended. So, if 1:21:30 there is prestige or arrogance in the 1:21:33 heart, it is hard to accept advice from 1:21:35 others. 1:21:37 >> Yes, definitely. But for someone who is 1:21:40 always trying to guard their heart, 1:21:44 >> it is not difficult to accept advice 1:21:45 from others. In fact, if necessary, we 1:21:48 should ask for that advice. 1:21:49 >> He he. 1:21:50 >> Ask for that advice. Yes, for example, 1:21:54 I was once advised by someone, 1:21:58 >> who in terms of social status was far, 1:22:01 >> the gap in standards was wide. 1:22:03 >> But I did it on purpose because I was 1:22:04 afraid of what you mentioned earlier. 1:22:06 >> Afraid. I deliberately went to their 1:22:08 house. I wanted to hear their 1:22:11 heart-to-heart thoughts on how things 1:22:13 were. 1:22:14 >> Finally, they spoke up," 1:22:15 >> Ah, no, I'm not, I'm not worthy, "they 1:22:18 said." Eh, I said, "I really am asking 1:22:20 for this.""I really am asking, so don't 1:22:23 hesitate, just say it.""Finally, they 1:22:26 were willing to convey it." 1:22:27 >> Ustaz, I just, I only want to suggest, 1:22:29 "they said," a suggestion. "" Try, 1:22:31 Ustaz, when you lecture, don't go so 1:22:34 fast. "Well, praise be to God, I said 1:22:37 this is a valuable thing, and it turns 1:22:39 out it was true, and I got that 1:22:40 feedback from many different people. 1:22:43 >> Once, it was also directly from a 1:22:45 senior person, yes, a senior. 1:22:47 >> As I was getting down from the pulpit 1:22:49 here, they said," When you speak, don't 1:22:52 go so fast. "Astagfirullahalazim. So, 1:22:55 it turns out that even laypeople are 1:22:57 brave enough to say such things because 1:22:59 we asked. 1:23:00 >> He-eh. 1:23:00 >> Perhaps they don't have the heart, 1:23:02 right? 1:23:02 >> Oh, we feel reluctant. 1:23:04 >> If it were a senior person, it would be 1:23:05 natural, right? But this was someone 1:23:07 who, in terms of social status, was far 1:23:09 below. 1:23:09 >> But when we ask, it is an extraordinary 1:23:12 thing. It turns out you can find pearls 1:23:14 of wisdom there. Masyaallah. Now, this 1:23:16 is the importance of continuing to 1:23:18 respect others. Even if in terms of 1:23:20 social conditions, they are far below 1:23:23 us. 1:23:24 >> Masyaallah. Well, that is all. 1:23:26 >> Ustaz, we are limited by time, perhaps 1:23:28 before we say goodbye, could you 1:23:29 conclude our theme, Ustaz? 1:23:32 >> Alright, brothers and sisters, may 1:23:33 Allah protect you, let us organize our 1:23:35 hearts by praying. Ya muqalibal qulub, 1:23:38 sabbit qolbi ala dinik. Ya musorifal 1:23:42 qulub, sabbit qolbi ala thaatik. O 1:23:46 Turner of hearts, keep my heart firm in 1:23:48 Your religion. O Director of hearts, 1:23:52 keep my heart firm in obedience to You. 1:23:55 And, Allahumma inni a'udzubika min 1:23:57 syarrin sami'. Oh Allah, I seek refuge 1:24:01 in You from the evil of my hearing. And 1:24:03 from the evil of my sight. And from the 1:24:09 evil of my tongue. And from the evil of 1:24:14 my heart. And from the evil of my 1:24:17 desires. 1:24:19 >> The Prophet (peace be upon him) 1:24:21 answered by reciting 1:24:22 >> these prayers so that his heart would 1:24:24 always be guarded." 1:24:26 >> Our Lord, let not our hearts deviate 1:24:29 after You have guided us. "Oh Allah, do 1:24:33 not let us turn away into deviation 1:24:35 after You have given us guidance. Yes. 1:24:38 >> Then in Surah Al-Hashr verse 10, it 1:24:41 says" And [for] those who came after 1:24:47 them. "Oh Allah, forgive us and our 1:24:53 brothers. And those who preceded us in 1:25:00 faith. 1:25:02 >> And oh Allah, do not place in our 1:25:05 hearts 1:25:06 >> any resentment. Jealousy, ill will, or 1:25:10 negative prejudices against those who 1:25:13 believed before us. MasyaAllah. All of 1:25:17 this is meant to purify the heart. And 1:25:20 pray to Allah," Oh Allah, guard our 1:25:22 hearts from all forms of arrogance. " 1:25:25 Keep us away from haughtiness, keep us 1:25:28 away from arrogance, keep us away from 1:25:30 vanity and the like. Ask Allah, for 1:25:33 Allah is the Almighty. The One who has 1:25:37 the power to turn the hearts of men. 1:25:41 Brothers, let us improve ourselves and 1:25:44 our hearts, especially me, Kang Fahri, 1:25:46 Mas Neja, Bang Yusuf, and the whole 1:25:49 Rasil crew. Let us improve ourselves 1:25:52 together so we can return with a sound 1:25:55 heart (qolbun salim). Where Allah says, 1:25:57 " The day. "On that day, there will be 1:26:03 no benefit at all. From the wealth we 1:26:05 pride ourselves on or the children we 1:26:07 boast about." Except for one who comes. 1:26:10 "Except for those who come to Allah 1:26:11 with a sound heart. Safe from all forms 1:26:14 of heart disease. And God willing, with 1:26:16 that, we will achieve the ultimate 1:26:17 success of a good end (husnul khatimah) 1:26:19 . 1:26:20 >> That is all from me, I apologize if 1:26:21 anything was displeasing. Glory be to 1:26:23 You, oh Allah, and by Your praise, I 1:26:24 bear witness that there is no god but 1:26:26 You, I seek Your forgiveness and repent 1:26:28 to You. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the 1:26:30 worlds. Peace be upon you. And the 1:26:32 mercy of Allah and His blessings. 1:26:34 >> And peace be upon you, and the mercy of 1:26:35 Allah and His blessings. That was the 1:26:37 evening sermon we just heard, delivered 1:26:39 by the Ustaz regarding how advice is 1:26:41 rejected due to arrogance. Hopefully, 1:26:45 what the Ustaz conveyed is beneficial 1:26:47 for me, Pak Har, accompanied by Neza 1:26:49 and Yusuf Subangit. May there be 1:26:51 success and guidance. Peace be upon you 1:26:53 , and the mercy of Allah and His 1:26:54 blessings.
