0:01 Well, it's trending on social media, 0:03 Ustaz, with the fragmented sentence 0:06 that our problems are poverty, 0:07 ignorance, and backwardness. So, our 0:12 struggle should be to improve our fate, 0:14 not our lineage. They say stop 0:17 discussing and arguing about lineage as 0:19 it serves no purpose. May I have your 0:22 response, Ustaz, regarding this 0:23 phenomenon? 0:25 >> I seek refuge in Allah from the 0:26 accursed Shaytan. In the name of Allah, 0:29 the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. 0:32 All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the 0:34 worlds. A praise that is abundant, good 0:37 , and blessed, as our Lord loves and is 0:40 pleased with. O Allah, send prayers 0:48 upon Your servant and messenger, our 0:51 master Muhammad, and upon his family 0:53 and companions, and bless him. And 0:58 grant him abundant, good, and blessed 1:01 peace. Peace be upon you, O Messenger 1:04 of Allah. And peace be upon the 1:07 righteous servants of Allah. And may 1:10 the peace, mercy, and blessings of 1:12 Allah be upon you. 1:13 >> And unto you, peace. 1:16 >> Brothers and sisters who are blessed by 1:18 Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. Most of us 1:24 waste the time, opportunities, and 1:27 potential that Allah has given us on 1:34 trivial pursuits. Even though Allah 1:40 Subhanahu wa ta'ala reminds us that the 1:45 time and life given to us are very 1:49 valuable assets. Allah commands us to 1:54 use them in the best possible way for 1:56 the purpose and the priority scale of 2:03 our lives in this world. As Allah 2:07 states, "And I did not create the jinn 2:10 and mankind except to worship Me." And 2:15 I did not create the jinn and mankind 2:18 except to worship and serve Me. The 2:22 benefit of this service does not return 2:25 to Allah, but returns to us. Because 2:28 when we become good servants, serving 2:31 Allah in all our life's activities, 2:34 humanity will surely live in an 2:37 atmosphere that is truly full of 2:40 welfare. They become people who are 2:44 aware of the purpose of their lives. 2:49 The worlds. They will be guarded and 2:53 protected from various kinds of 2:55 injustice. Likewise, from the various 3:00 sufferings of life as Allah has 3:02 promised for those who are pious. "And 3:07 if only the people of the cities had 3:09 believed and feared Allah, We would 3:11 have opened upon them blessings from 3:13 the heaven and the earth." If the 3:16 residents of a land, the residents of a 3:20 city believe in Allah, they truly rely 3:26 on their lives to Allah Subhanahu wa 3:29 ta'ala, this will truly straighten 3:32 their lives and show them the way. " 3:37 Wattaqau," and they become pious 3:39 servants, guarding themselves, 3:42 controlling themselves from deeds and 3:45 attitudes that truly contradict their 3:49 life's purpose, which can cause damage 3:54 be it to individuals, society, the 3:57 nation, or the state. So if the 4:02 residents of this land believe and fear 4:04 Allah, We will surely open for them the 4:06 doors of Our blessings from the heavens 4:08 and the earth. Meaning, the heavens and 4:13 the earth will truly open the doors of 4:15 mercy and blessings. "Walakin kadzabu." 4:20 But it turns out they ignored Allah, 4:23 denying His verses and His guidance. " 4:28 Faaknahum bima kanu yaksibun." So We 4:30 punished them. We punished them with 4:37 what they did, resulting in a very 4:40 bitter reality in their lives. Allah 4:45 has explained that Allah did not create 4:48 us in this world in vain. "Did you 4:51 think that We created you in vain and 4:53 that to Us you would not be returned?" 4:57 Do you think that We created you in 4:59 vain without purpose and that you will 5:02 not be returned to Us to account for 5:04 your deeds? The world is not the final 5:08 destination. It is just a place for us 5:11 to pass through and undergo trials. 5:14 Everything we possess is not truly ours 5:17 , but a trust from Allah meant as a 5:20 test. To test our gratitude when we 5:25 receive blessings, and our patience 5:28 when facing trials, remaining in piety 5:31 and the pleasure of Allah Subhanahu wa 5:34 ta'ala. Therefore, Kang Rizal, if every 5:40 one of us realizes our life’s purpose 5:43 is to serve Allah, and serving here is 5:45 not limited to just prayer, 5:49 >> or fasting. These are actually tools 5:53 for what? To keep our lives on the 5:56 right path. Through prayer, we are 5:59 guided by Allah to always remember Him, 6:02 which prevents us from shameful and 6:05 evil deeds. Through fasting, we are 6:08 trained to control ourselves. Through 6:11 zakat, Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala 6:15 purifies our lives and also purifies 6:18 our wealth. It also cultivates in our 6:23 hearts a sense of generosity and 6:25 compassion for our fellow human beings. 6:28 It keeps us away from greed, avarice, 6:30 and other things that can destroy human 6:33 life. The same applies to our 6:38 pilgrimage to the Holy Land. We meet 6:41 our brothers and sisters from every 6:44 corner of the world. A great family of 6:48 various tribes, nations, shapes, and 6:51 colors, all originating from the same 6:54 parents. We were created by the same 6:58 God from the same origins. And Allah 7:01 reminds us that the noblest among you 7:04 is not determined by lineage. For those 7:08 whose deeds are poor, lineage will not 7:11 improve their bad actions. Those who 7:15 are slow in their deeds will not be 7:16 accelerated by their lineage. 7:18 Conversely, noble lineage should be 7:22 what makes one better than others. Like 7:26 someone who has a genealogical 7:27 connection to the Messenger. They 7:29 should be better than those who are not 7:32 directly connected by lineage to the 7:34 Messenger. Where their lineage becomes 7:37 a trust and a responsibility. They 7:41 should feel ashamed if they commit 7:44 indecent acts. In fact, they should 7:48 feel ashamed if, despite being 7:50 connected to the Messenger, their good 7:52 deeds are only equal to others. They 7:55 should be better. Therefore, lineage is 7:59 not to be used for pride or arrogance, 8:01 but as a means to educate oneself. It 8:05 demands that one acts with deeds as 8:08 good and appropriate as one's lineage, 8:12 not to boast before others. Hence, Imam 8:17 Ali said, "Man bata bihi amaluh lam 8:20 yusri bihi nasabuh." He who is delayed 8:23 by his deeds will not be accelerated by 8:25 his lineage. A person of noble lineage 8:31 does not need to show it off to others 8:34 to gain attention or respect. Instead, 8:38 they should demonstrate noble character 8:40 and manners. Just as the Prophet, peace 8:44 be upon him, who was so noble. They 8:48 should emulate the nobility of the 8:50 Messenger. They strive to guard 8:54 themselves and their families so they 8:56 do not commit acts that shame 8:58 themselves or their kin. Lest people 9:01 say, "What is this?" Those who claim to 9:04 be descendants of the Prophet Muhammad, 9:06 may the peace and blessings be upon him 9:09 , but act so differently, even 9:11 seemingly opposing what the Messenger 9:15 exemplified in his life. If some people 9:20 deny one's lineage, it is not something 9:22 that needs to be responded to. Because 9:27 if it is true, other people's words 9:30 will not change the reality. But if it 9:33 is a lie, other people's praise will 9:37 not be able to confirm or turn a lie 9:40 into truth. Therefore, we are saddened 9:45 to witness how people spend their time 9:49 in conflicts like this. They should 9:54 realize that this has nothing to do 9:57 with their life's purpose at all. The 10:00 time that God has given us is very 10:02 precious. God says, "In the name of 10:05 Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most 10:07 Merciful, by time. Indeed, mankind is 10:13 in loss." Here, God swears by time. " 10:19 Al-Asr" can mean an era, or it can mean 10:22 a short period of time. Between what 10:26 and what? Between the Asr and Maghrib 10:30 prayer times. A short span of time. But 10:36 we can understand here that God swears 10:38 by time for what reason? To remind us 10:42 of how precious time is. The issue is 10:49 not that we lack time, but how we value 10:52 our time so we can use it according to 10:56 our life's purpose: dedicating our 10:58 lives to God, doing good deeds, 11:01 inviting to what is right, and 11:04 preventing what is wrong to maintain 11:07 our harmony, so that God's mercy and 11:10 blessings descend upon us all. God 11:15 confirms to us that our fate depends on 11:19 what? On the deeds that we perform. 11:23 That is what will determine our fate. " 11:27 Faman ya'mal mithqala darratin khairan 11:29 yarahu." Whoever does a good deed, he 11:34 will encounter a reward better for him. 11:39 "Wa man ya'mal mithqala darratin 11:40 sharran yarahu." Whoever does an evil 11:44 deed, he will encounter a reward 11:46 similar to his evil. It is not about 11:53 wishful thinking, nor lineage, nor 11:55 pride in wealth or status. All of this 12:00 has no value in the eyes of Allah 12:02 Subhanahu wa ta'ala, but one's value 12:07 lies in the deeds performed, in their 12:09 character and devotion. Therefore, God 12:13 swears by this time to remind us not to 12:16 be complacent, so that we do not forget 12:21 our life's purpose. "Wal-Asr," by time. 12:26 And interestingly, Kang Riza, in Arabic 12:29 , the word "asara ya'suru asran." From 12:35 this word, "asir" is also born, meaning 12:37 to squeeze. Meaning what? 12:40 >> To squeeze. "Asara 'inaban," squeezing 12:44 grapes. "Asara tamran," squeezing dates 12:48 . So the word "asara yasiru" means what 12:53 ? To squeeze. And making juice, like " 12:59 asir burtuqal" is orange juice, "asir 13:02 manga" is mango juice. 13:07 >> So the word "asar yasiru" denotes the 13:09 meaning of squeezing. Is it not that 13:14 time squeezes the essence of our lives, 13:19 Kang Riza, our youth, our strength, our 13:22 health. What is left behind is only 13:26 what? The dregs of life. The older we 13:30 get, the weaker we become. Our memory 13:32 also begins to fade. Our hearing, our 13:35 vision, our strength. How time erodes 13:39 and squeezes the essence of our lives. 13:42 Because indeed our life in this world 13:44 is temporary. 13:46 >> To prepare for the eternal and 13:48 everlasting life. God reminds us, " 13:51 Wattaqu yawman turja'una fihi ilallah." 13:54 Be mindful of a day when you will be 13:58 returned to God. Tumma tuwaffa kullu 14:01 nafsim ma kasabat wahum la yudlamun. 14:04 Then every person will be repaid 14:07 according to what they have done, fully 14:09 and without the slightest reduction, 14:12 and they will not be wronged. So Allah 14:16 reminds us, wal asri, by time, by the 14:18 era. By default, what becomes our 14:23 responsibility is the time and age that 14:25 Allah has given us as capital in this 14:27 worldly life. Innal insana lafi khusr. 14:32 Indeed, what about most humans? They 14:35 are truly threatened with falling into 14:39 loss. The loss referred to here is not 14:44 merely financial loss at all. This is 14:51 not the intended loss, but rather 14:53 wasting their time and work on useless, 14:56 vain things, forgetting the purpose of 14:59 their lives. Allah commands them to be 15:03 righteous servants who devote 15:05 themselves to Allah. Fulfilling their 15:09 responsibilities and obligations to 15:11 their Lord who created them, 15:13 worshipping Him, not associating 15:16 anything with Allah, being grateful for 15:19 His blessings, and being patient when 15:22 facing trials. Because behind these 15:26 trials lies wisdom that is not visible 15:28 to the naked eye. Behind all of this 15:33 are many lessons and vast goodness. And 15:37 every test from Allah is an education 15:40 for all of us. Allah Subhanahu wa 15:43 Ta'ala also reminds us to truly make 15:46 our devotion sincere solely for the 15:48 sake of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. 15:52 Prioritizing Allah over everything else 15:54 . This is Allah's right that we must 15:57 truly safeguard, prioritizing Allah 15:59 above others. Including ourselves, our 16:03 families, and our parents. Likewise 16:07 with the people around us, because we 16:09 and they are all manifestations of the 16:11 mercy of Allah Ar-Rahman. He bestows 16:16 all of this upon us, and all creatures 16:19 are indebted to Allah. Not the other 16:21 way around; Allah is never indebted to 16:23 any of His creatures, whoever they may 16:24 be. Now, secondly, we must do good 16:29 deeds in this life in accordance with 16:32 Allah's pleasure, not in opposition to 16:35 Allah's pleasure. How is our attitude 16:39 toward ourselves, our families, Kang 16:42 Rizal? Likewise with our social 16:45 responsibilities within society. Where 16:48 Allah describes in the Quran, wal 16:51 mukminun wal mukminat ba'duhum auliyau 16:54 ba'din. The believers, both men and 16:57 women. Some of them, with their 17:00 respective potentials that Allah has 17:02 given to each person, are protectors of 17:03 others. Some of them become protectors 17:08 >> of 17:08 >> others; what does the word' wali 'here 17:10 describe? Protector, helper, defender, 17:14 guardian. Yes. So if each of us, Kang 17:18 Rizal, becomes a protector for others, 17:21 those who are rich and given wealth, 17:23 remember that the wealth Allah has 17:25 given you is a trust and a test. You 17:31 are commanded by Allah to devote your 17:33 life to Allah with your wealth because 17:35 that is your potential. 17:37 >> With his wealth, he trades, he grows 17:40 his business. Then he uses his wealth 17:44 to help those in need, the poor, the 17:47 destitute, the sick, and those who need 17:50 education. Allah entrusts them to the 17:53 wealthy if they claim to be a servant 17:56 of Allah. Then those who are 17:59 knowledgeable. Allah Subhanahu wa 18:02 Ta'ala entrusts knowledge, not to be 18:04 sold or traded. The knowledge that God 18:07 teaches is a trust, so one must teach 18:09 those who are in need of that knowledge 18:11 . Whether it is requested or not. Not 18:17 using knowledge as what? As a vehicle 18:21 to pursue and accumulate the fleeting 18:24 world that we will eventually leave 18:27 behind. Likewise, those who are 18:32 physically strong, or because they hold 18:34 authority as officials, should become 18:37 protectors for the weak beneath them. 18:41 Subhanallah, Kang Rizal. There are 18:43 people who are given wealth but possess 18:45 no knowledge. There are those given 18:49 knowledge without wealth. There are 18:52 those who have knowledge and wealth, 18:54 but lack strength. Now, if the 18:56 potential of the community is diverse 18:58 in accordance with the concept "the 19:00 believing men and believing women are 19:03 allies of one another," then our 19:04 problems can easily be what? Our 19:09 problems will truly be solved with ease 19:12 . Because why? Because the solutions 19:15 actually lie within all of us. We just 19:18 need to follow God's guidance and 19:20 instructions as illustrated in the 19:22 verse earlier. But if we are part of 19:26 the problem, how can we possibly be the 19:29 solution or solve the problems we face? 19:32 We are part of the problem. The wealthy 19:36 do not realize that their wealth is a 19:39 trust. Those with knowledge do not 19:41 realize their knowledge is also a trust 19:43 . If they do not convey their knowledge 19:46 . In a hadith, "man katama' ilman 19:49 aljamahullahu bi lijamin min nar." He 19:53 who hides his knowledge and does not 19:56 convey it to mankind, God Almighty will 20:00 restrain him with a bridle of fire. God 20:06 also gives a warning in Surah 20:08 Al-Baqarah in two verses, Rizal. " 20:13 Innalladzina yaktumuna ma anzalna minal 20:15 bayyinati wal huda mim ba'di ma 20:17 bayyanahu lin-nasi fil-kitab, ulaika 20:19 yal'anuhumullah wa yal'anuhumul-la'inun 20:22 ." Indeed, those who conceal what We 20:28 sent down from the Book after We have 20:32 made it clear to mankind. "Mim ba'di ma 20:37 bayyanahu lin-nasi fil-kitab." After We 20:41 have explained and clarified it clearly 20:44 in the Book. "Ulaika yal'anuhumullah wa 20:48 yal'anuhumul-la'inun." They are the 20:52 ones cursed by God Almighty and cursed 20:56 by every curser. Because if scholars 20:59 hide their knowledge, then corruption 21:02 will occur on this earth. Eventually, 21:06 they all work—whether they are 21:08 officials, businessmen, or the common 21:11 people—acting without a basis of 21:13 knowledge. This is ignorance that can 21:16 lead to destruction. Because the 21:19 scholars are not fulfilling their 21:20 responsibilities. 21:23 >> This is in Surah Al-Baqarah. " 21:25 Innalladzina yaktumuna ma anzalna 21:28 minal-bayyinati wal-huda." Indeed, 21:31 those who conceal what We have sent 21:35 down from God's clear explanations. 21:39 Likewise regarding His guidance. "Mim 21:42 ba'di ma bayyanahu lin-nasi fil-kitab." 21:47 After We have explained it as clearly 21:49 as possible in the Book, "ulaika 21:50 yal'anuhumullah wa yal'anuhumul-la'inun 21:53 ." They are those who are cursed by God 21:56 and cursed by every curser. " 21:59 Illalladzina tabu wa aslahu wa bayyanu 22:01 fa-ulaika atubu 'alaihim wa 22:03 anut-tawwabur-rahim." Except for those 22:06 who—how is it—who repent. Then they 22:11 explain clearly and reform themselves. 22:16 They are the ones whose repentance We 22:19 will accept. And I am the Lord who will 22:22 always accept the repentance of His 22:25 servants. Likewise, the Most Merciful. 22:29 So, when scholars do not impart their 22:32 knowledge, they enter the realm of 22:35 those cursed by God and cursed by every 22:39 curser. Why is that? Because of them, 22:42 corruption occurs on the face of the 22:44 earth. Likewise, if the wealthy do not 22:49 fulfill their obligations, then the 22:52 possessions they hold—gold and silver 22:54 —will be heated in the fires of Hell. 22:59 Then, their faces and their backs will 23:01 be branded with that fire. And it will 23:03 not be for a day or two, 23:04 >> but for all eternity. Wealth collected 23:09 in this world brings fatigue, 23:11 exhaustion, and even leads to conflict 23:13 and bloodshed. The bloodshed that 23:17 occurs on this earth, Kang Rizal, is 23:19 inseparable from what? From the 23:22 competition to seize worldly gains. 23:26 Even power is sought to fight over this 23:28 worldly wealth. But if those who are 23:32 faithful had full awareness—for 23:35 example, the Arab nations that are rich 23:39 in oil—if they used the wealth God 23:42 provided them for the welfare of the 23:45 Muslim community, working together with 23:48 countries where the majority of the 23:51 population is Muslim. But possess what? 23:57 Vast agricultural land. They could 24:00 invest in those agricultural lands, 24:02 besides for what? For those nations, 24:06 and also for those who invest, where 24:09 the wealth they have is truly used for 24:12 the welfare of fellow humans, 24:14 especially fellow believers, to develop 24:18 education, yes, to carry out 24:20 development without having to borrow 24:23 from the World Bank or the IMF. If 24:26 these Islamic nations worked together, 24:29 they would become an extraordinary 24:31 power. But it is heartbreaking. They 24:34 are not only neglecting their duties, 24:37 they are even destroying one another. 24:41 Wealth that they squander to buy 24:43 weapons. Likewise, the infrastructure 24:47 that had been built suffers destruction 24:49 . They shed the blood of fellow Muslims 24:52 . 24:54 >> Then some say, "We are Ahlusunnah." Is 24:58 it true that in the Sunnah of the 25:00 Prophet they were taught to act like 25:02 this? Or some say, "We are the people 25:05 who follow the Prophet's family." In 25:09 the hereafter, they will face a heavy 25:12 reckoning. Where they should protect 25:17 one another, as commanded by God, so 25:19 that we remain united, holding fast to 25:21 the rope of God. But what happens 25:25 instead is that we destroy one another, 25:28 preying on each other in the name of 25:31 the Quran, the Sunnah, or other names. 25:35 So, Kang Rizal, the occurrence of 25:37 ignorance is the result of the "dumbing 25:40 down" and neglect carried out by those 25:42 with knowledge. Poverty occurs because 25:46 the rich do not care about their wealth 25:50 >> in relation to the brothers and sisters 25:52 around them. Instead, they become 25:54 richer, more greedy, and more 25:55 avaricious. Like in Indonesia, only a 25:59 few people control the sources of 26:01 natural wealth in our country. While 26:05 the people live in ignorance, 26:08 >> live in poverty, and all of this also 26:11 returns to the faults of the people. 26:14 Returns to the faults of 26:15 >> the people. 26:16 >> The people. If the people live far from 26:19 honesty, far from the truth, how could 26:21 they possibly produce leaders who are 26:24 honest and righteous? All this 26:28 destruction happens because we have 26:30 forgotten God. We live only following 26:33 our desires, following our fanaticism. 26:38 We follow our ignorance because the 26:40 scholars, who should be educating, 26:42 instead collaborate with rulers and 26:44 conglomerates. They don't fight for 26:49 truth and justice, taking the right 26:52 side, but instead take the side that 26:54 benefits them. And the scholars don't 26:59 come to the society that needs them, 27:04 unless they are summoned with 27:07 profitable rewards. So, we do not 27:12 follow the exemplary example of our 27:14 Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. So 27:17 , Wal-asr, innal-insana lafi khusr. By 27:22 time, indeed mankind is truly 27:24 threatened with great loss. A loss 27:28 where they prioritize this fleeting 27:30 life, sacrificing their eternal and 27:32 everlasting life. Because they do not 27:35 live as servants who dedicate their 27:37 lives to God. So, what is the solution, 27:39 Kang Rizal? The next brief verse 27:42 provides the solution. Illalladzina 27:45 amanu. Except for those who believe. 27:49 This faith is very important. This 27:52 faith guards and controls us if it is 27:54 alive, not a withered faith. 27:57 >> A living faith is what truly drives 28:00 what? Our entire attitude, words, and 28:03 activities in life are in line with our 28:06 faith. Then waamilus shihat. They prove 28:10 their faith through the righteous deeds 28:12 they perform. These righteous deeds are 28:15 not just prayer or fasting, as I 28:17 mentioned. Those are all means to make 28:19 us good, useful human beings. We work 28:23 to bring about improvement in the midst 28:26 of our society. Working together to 28:29 gather the potential within the 28:31 community to empower our rise and 28:34 progress. Scholars must descend, 28:38 invited or not, to enjoin good and 28:40 forbid evil. Do not just come for the 28:45 Mawlid celebration or the Isra and 28:47 Mi'raj celebration. They are obligated 28:51 to convey their knowledge. Because this 28:54 is the mandate that God has placed upon 28:56 their shoulders. Before God asks the 28:59 common people in the hereafter, God 29:02 will call the scholars, "Have you 29:04 conveyed God's mandate?" If not, before 29:08 the idolaters, they are the first to 29:10 enter the hellfire. Therefore, the 29:14 messengers strived earnestly to convey 29:17 God's mandate. Even the Prophet, before 29:20 he passed away during the Farewell 29:22 Pilgrimage, said, "Have I conveyed 29:23 God's mandate to you?" They said, " 29:28 Syahidna, we testify you have conveyed 29:30 God's mandate." Because if there are 29:33 people who have never heard the 29:36 messages from God, even though there 29:38 are knowledgeable people among them, 29:41 they are freed from responsibility. 29:44 Those who are knowledgeable will be the 29:46 ones called by God Subhanahu wa ta'ala. 29:49 So, Kang Rizal, the solution is simple, 29:52 contained in just one verse. Wa tawasau 29:56 bilhaqqi wa tawasau bish-shabr. Those 30:04 who are free from the threat of loss 30:06 are only those who believe. It is not 30:09 just a belief-based faith, but a living 30:13 faith that drives all the goals and 30:16 activities of one's life. Then filling 30:20 their deeds, their life's deeds, with 30:22 righteous actions. Then to protect both 30:24 , because without protection, what 30:26 happens so easily? The structure we 30:29 have built will collapse. Watwasau 30:30 bilhaqqi wa taw bisabri. A society that 30:34 truly gathers in a good and healthy 30:36 atmosphere. 30:37 >> Their opinions are also healthy 30:39 opinions. They work together, reminding 30:41 one another to uphold the truth. Yes. 30:46 And also being patient in facing trials 30:48 while upholding the truth. If we 30:51 practice this, Kang Risa, our time will 30:54 surely be filled with blessings. 30:58 Everyone feels they have a 30:59 responsibility and duty according to 31:00 the potential God has given them. Do 31:03 not have only the clerics conveying 31:06 God's message, while the wealthy do not 31:08 fulfill their obligations. Even though 31:11 preaching requires funds for the 31:13 struggle. Likewise, do not have the 31:16 wealthy donating with noble intentions, 31:18 while the clerics do not fulfill their 31:20 duties, instead busying themselves with 31:22 collecting worldly fragments. The same 31:26 goes for the authorized officials. 31:29 >> As a closing answer to this matter, 31:31 Kang Rizal. I remember when, back then, 31:38 uh a businessman wanted to open, uh, 31:44 wanted to open what? Opening a bar 31:49 >> or a discotheque. Opening a discotheque 31:51 . He came to me, as it happened, he was 31:54 a police officer while bringing a gift 31:59 of fruit. He asked me, as a religious 32:03 leader, to sign and approve the 32:05 establishment of the discotheque. 32:10 Because the Mayor told him, "If you 32:13 want your building permit approved, go 32:16 to the local religious leader.""He came 32:21 to me, I asked,' Are you a Muslim? '" 32:25 He said,' I am a Muslim. '"' Where are 32:28 you from? '" He said,' I am from Tuban. 32:30 '"I said,' From the place of the saints 32:33 who brought Islam to Indonesia. 'I am a 32:36 cleric. I have a responsibility to 32:39 invite people to what is good and 32:41 forbid what is evil." The existence of 32:44 this discotheque could cause damage, 32:50 causing people to fall into vice and 32:52 fights. Ultimately, our environment 32:55 could be damaged because of this 32:57 discotheque. I am responsible before 33:00 God. You are also responsible. You 33:03 should have rejected this, instead of 33:05 coming to me bringing a gift to sign 33:08 and provide approval for the 33:10 construction. And the Mayor actually 33:15 should not have asked the discotheque 33:19 owner to consult with me at all. He, as 33:23 the mayor, is a Muslim. I sent him a 33:27 letter saying, "Mr. Mayor, you and I 33:30 are both responsible.""You, as the 33:34 authorized official, must keep your 33:36 environment in piety toward God." 33:40 Therefore, I ask you not to grant the 33:42 permit to establish the discotheque. As 33:46 a cleric, my duty is to remind you, and 33:48 we will all stand accountable before 33:50 Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. But it 33:55 turned out this was not heard; it was 33:57 ignored. Finally, may God protect us, 34:03 the authorities themselves had a stake 34:06 in the establishment of the discotheque 34:09 . As long as the nightclub is operating 34:13 , they receive a share from the sins 34:15 permitted and blessed by them. 34:18 Eventually, the Mayor ended up rotting 34:20 in prison. Try following God's guidance 34:24 with what He has given you; you will 34:27 live in contentment. 34:30 >> Let us not endorse deeds forbidden by 34:32 Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala just because 34:34 we crave the world and feel secure in 34:37 it. Know that Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala 34:40 is not silent, but is extending time to 34:43 give us a chance. So, in conclusion, 34:46 Kang Rizal, everything must start by 34:48 improving our relationship with Allah. 34:52 Improving our relationship with Allah. 34:54 Then, based on our relationship with 34:56 Allah, we maintain our relationship 34:59 with ourselves, our families, and our 35:01 society. The guidance of the Qur'an 35:04 invites us all to focus on things that 35:06 are beneficial and useful, not to argue 35:08 about lineage 35:11 >> which is endless. And if we observe, 35:14 Kang Rizal, in this matter of lineage, 35:18 we need to understand that if someone 35:20 claims to be a descendant of the 35:23 Prophet but is lying, they fall into 35:26 the group cursed by Allah. Mal'un man 35:29 intasaba ila ghayri abihi. Cursed by 35:33 Allah is the person who attributes 35:35 their lineage to someone other than 35:37 their true father. Therefore, Allah 35:40 forbids a person from adopting a child 35:42 and attributing their lineage to what? 35:45 To the one who adopts them. They must 35:47 be attributed to their biological 35:48 parents. And this is explained at 35:52 length at the beginning of Surah 35:54 Al-Ahzab, reminding them not to commit 35:56 this act. Then, Kang Rizal, if someone 36:00 attributes their lineage to someone 36:02 other than their parents, they are 36:04 among those cursed by Allah, just as is 36:06 the person who accuses someone's 36:08 lineage of being false. Accusing 36:12 someone's lineage of being false, then 36:15 dakhal fi al-kufr. Because casting 36:17 doubt on lineage, as stated in a hadith 36:19 , doubting, attacking, or slandering 36:24 someone by saying their lineage is 36:27 false, will plunge a person into 36:29 disbelief. So, those who feel certain 36:33 of their true lineage do not need to 36:36 respond at all. 36:38 >> If their accusations are untrue, it 36:40 will backfire on them—wal-iyadhu 36:42 billah—plunging themselves into 36:44 disbelief. Now, as for those who make 36:46 false claims without any basis of truth 36:49 , 36:50 >> they are among those cursed by Allah. 36:53 Both are what? Both are frightening and 36:56 terrifying threats. And for those 36:59 granted noble lineage, as I said 37:01 earlier, do not sell your lineage for a 37:03 cheap price by seeking honor from 37:06 people. But as the Prophet was, be 37:08 loved by people because of your 37:10 character. Not because of what? His 37:12 position as a Messenger. Because even 37:15 as a Messenger and Prophet, if he did 37:17 not have noble character, people would 37:18 not love him. As stated in God's word, 37:22 fabima rahmatin minallahi linta lahum. 37:26 It is by God's mercy that you are 37:28 gentle with them. If not for God's 37:32 mercy, you would not be gentle towards 37:35 them. Walaw kunta fazzan ghaliza 37:39 al-qalb. If you were harsh and 37:41 hard-hearted, they would drift away 37:44 from you. So, what made the Prophet so 37:47 loved and respected, to the point that 37:49 his companions were willing to 37:51 sacrifice their parents and even 37:52 themselves for him, was his noble 37:54 character and conduct. Therefore, 37:56 character is*zinat al-qalbi*, a truly 38:00 beautiful adornment of the heart. So 38:05 for each of us, let us use this 38:07 precious time for our best possible 38:11 endeavors. Now, in conclusion, there is 38:14 a hadith spoken by our Prophet Muhammad 38:16 , peace be upon him, regarding two 38:17 blessings. *Maghbun fi-hima kathirun 38:22 min an-nas, as-sihhatu wa al-faragh. * 38:24 There are two blessings. Most people 38:27 are deceived and misled regarding those 38:30 two blessings. The first is health. 38:33 Which we waste while we are healthy, 38:35 only to wish we had cared for it once 38:37 we are sick. The second is our free 38:40 time. Our free time that we use for 38:43 trivial and useless purposes. Making 38:46 noise over lineage debates that drain 38:48 the energy of the community. And even 38:51 costing us a great deal of resources. 38:54 Let us ignore those who continue to 38:57 speak about this matter. Let us refocus 39:01 on things that are beneficial for all 39:04 of us. *Wallahu a'lam. * 39:06 >> Alright, Ustaz. Thank you for the 39:07 explanation. Here is one more, Ustaz. 39:09 Is there still time? 39:09 >> Yes. Just briefly, from whom was it 39:12 again? 39:13 >> This is on WhatsApp, first from Mrs. 39:15 Cani Huzaifah, she says she is tuning 39:17 in. God willing, Ustaz Husein, Kang 39:19 Rijalan Kurasil. Then from Mr. Andi, 39:22 Ustaz, how do you view the current 39:24 government? He says this also relates 39:27 to fate and lineage, Ustaz. It feels 39:29 like the fate of the people and the 39:31 common folk is being ignored. Those 39:33 lucky enough to have a lineage 39:35 connected to officials or the president 39:37 . Even without a degree, they can 39:39 become the number two person in this 39:40 country. Those connected by cronyism 39:43 can hold office and receive abundant 39:45 prosperity. While those who struggle, 39:48 study, and have the skills and degrees 39:50 still face hardship. It is truly 39:52 saddening for this nation, Ustaz. Our 39:54 natural resource wealth is so abundant. 39:57 But the people are kept in ignorance 40:00 and poverty by the system. Please, 40:02 Ustaz. 40:03 >> In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious 40:05 , the Most Merciful. *Rabbana zidna' 40:06 ilman warzuqna fahman. *Allah Subhanahu 40:12 wa Ta'ala made us caliphs on earth with 40:15 the power of choice and will, so that 40:19 we may choose our own life paths, which 40:23 will determine our fate in the 40:26 hereafter. Therefore, if today we see 40:30 officials at the top, as well as 40:35 businessmen who collaborate with 40:38 officials to smooth their ventures. And 40:44 also scholars who gather around them to 40:47 justify everything they do. In truth, 40:52 their fate is the most tragic, the most 40:55 pitiful, and the most frightening. 40:58 Because the burden of the evil they 41:02 carry will plunge them into the torment 41:06 of hellfire in the lowest depths. In 41:10 the very lowest place. While those who 41:16 do not cooperate at all in tyranny, 41:18 they remain walking on the path of 41:21 truth, firmly hoping for the help of 41:24 Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala to protect 41:27 them and open the doors of lawful 41:30 sustenance for them. They are the 41:34 people truly loved and cherished by 41:36 Allah because they are not part of 41:38 their group. 41:40 >> Not part of their group. Because when 41:44 someone witnesses another committing 41:48 evil deeds, contrary to what Allah 41:51 Subhanahu wa ta'ala has shown, they 41:54 violate the covenant between themselves 41:57 and Allah. As servants, we are bound by 42:01 a covenant, for we say, "we hear and we 42:03 obey." Bound by the two testimonies of 42:08 faith that oblige us to live according 42:10 to our witness that there is no God but 42:12 Allah and Muhammad is the Messenger of 42:14 Allah. The meaning of the Messenger of 42:17 Allah is that he brought a message from 42:19 Allah that we must accept and follow. 42:23 This is a covenant between us as 42:25 believers and Allah and His Messenger. 42:31 They violate the covenant with Allah 42:32 Subhanahu wa ta'ala. They ignore the 42:35 purpose of their lives. Thus, the times 42:40 they pass through are dark, heedless, 42:43 and pitch black. Meanwhile, those who 42:47 believe, who are patient, firm in the 42:51 truth, and walk on Allah's path, are 42:54 never forgotten by this worldly life. 42:58 In fact, their eyes are open to the 43:00 evils committed by them. Those who 43:02 commit evil. Actually, what they 43:05 perceive as suffering is truly a 43:07 blessing from Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala 43:10 . I, as an ustaz, when I walk in the 43:16 truth, always remembering Allah 43:19 Subhanahu wa ta'ala, my life is 43:21 peaceful and tranquil, even with only a 43:24 few provisions or in modest 43:26 circumstances. But when we are 43:29 negligent and forget Allah, even amidst 43:32 vast luxury, our hearts are restless. 43:36 >> Therefore, let us not envy those who 43:39 are currently in power, in victory, in 43:43 pleasure. They seem to be in a secure 43:46 atmosphere. In reality, their lives are 43:49 filled with anxiety and restlessness. 43:53 If Allah were to open their eyes to 43:55 witness their actions, which contradict 43:58 their life's purpose, and the 44:00 recompense they will receive, they 44:02 would likely scream. They would curse 44:07 their own ignorance for choosing a path 44:10 in life that opposes their salvation 44:12 and happiness in the hereafter. 44:16 Therefore, we should not curse or 44:18 berate those who commit tyranny because 44:21 it is useless; it will not improve the 44:24 reality. But let us work together to 44:29 make improvements, to make serious 44:31 improvements. The people truly need to 44:35 receive good education from their 44:37 scholars. Prepare themselves so that in 44:42 the upcoming election, they do not 44:45 choose someone who provides benefits 44:48 for a day or two, but choose someone 44:50 they can truly trust to be their 44:53 protector, their defender, who fights 44:56 for their interests. But because the 45:01 people have long been kept in ignorance 45:03 , because those in power do not want 45:05 their people to be smart, 45:07 >> they do not want their people united in 45:10 truth; but as long as society is 45:12 ignorant and divided, their votes will 45:14 easily scatter and allow them to always 45:17 secure victory. If we as the people do 45:20 not want to fight for improvement, do 45:23 not blame it if tyranny is in power. 45:26 That is a punishment for what? from our 45:29 actions and choices. We would like to 45:32 ask, Kang Rizal. Do leaders who rise to 45:34 the top get there on their own, or are 45:36 they lifted? 45:37 >> Lifted. 45:38 >> Who lifts them? 45:39 >> The people. 45:40 >> The people. So, the people are 45:42 responsible. We must realize that this 45:44 is our fault. Now, let us not repeat 45:47 the same mistakes again. Make 45:49 improvements. And in choosing future 45:53 candidates, we must be careful. We must 45:58 choose people whose honesty, integrity, 46:00 and upright life we know. Not just by 46:04 listening to beautiful promises and 46:06 rhetoric. Once they are in power, they 46:09 no longer remember what they once 46:11 promised. So, quite frankly, we are all 46:14 at fault. Including myself as an ustaz, 46:17 I am at fault for not descending. 46:20 seriously to provide education to the 46:23 people. We don't want to incite the 46:26 people, but to educate them, and we 46:28 start with ourselves. How can we, being 46:31 sick, heal those who are also sick? 46:34 Start with our own sickness; once we 46:36 are healthy, we invite others to be 46:39 healthy like us. Becoming humans who 46:42 recognize their life's purpose, 46:44 struggling and not hesitant to 46:46 sacrifice themselves and their peace 46:48 for the happiness of society at large. 46:51 In closing, there is a saying from a 46:57 fighter who sacrificed himself for the 46:59 establishment of justice for society. 47:03 He said while at the gallows, after 47:06 slaughtering criminals who caused 47:09 destruction, tyranny, and extortion, " 47:13 Allow me to speak." He said, "Everyone 47:17 wants justice to be upheld and for 47:20 everyone to receive their rights.""But 47:24 few people are ready to sacrifice for 47:27 the sake of justice." He wanted to 47:31 explain that he did not want to be 47:33 brutal or commit evil, but he did all 47:35 this for what? For the sake of justice 47:38 for society at large. Therefore, never 47:41 remain silent in the face of tyranny. 47:44 If we cannot do it alone, let us unite 47:47 together. Do not divert our time and 47:51 attention to futile discussions. Like 47:55 discussing matters of lineage, yes. 47:59 Those who attack do not know the true 48:02 essence. Those who attack may be driven 48:06 by envy or anger toward the behavior of 48:09 those who have lineage but perform 48:12 inappropriate actions. While those with 48:16 noble lineage, instead of being humble 48:18 about their lineage, they boast about 48:20 themselves. So what are both of these? 48:23 These two groups are actually two 48:26 groups of losers. But we actually want 48:30 those who see the poor behavior of 48:32 people connected to the Prophet to 48:34 provide a warning. Are you not ashamed? 48:39 Give advice, give a reprimand. 48:41 >> Hey 48:42 >> never embarrass yourselves by claiming 48:45 to be connected to the Prophet, yet 48:48 your character and deeds shame the 48:51 Prophet. This is a heavy blow. Likewise 48:55 , those of noble lineage should be 48:57 humble and lower themselves. Do not 49:00 cause hatred and hostility. The 49:04 goodness of our nation is not built on 49:06 lineage. H 49:09 >> Just as the Prophet, peace be upon him, 49:11 along with his companions and family, 49:14 did not build a civil society full of 49:16 welfare based on lineage, but rather 49:19 through faith, righteous deeds, piety, 49:21 and the struggle to uphold truth and 49:24 justice. Subhanakallahumma wabihamdik, 49:28 ashadu alla ilaha illa anta, 49:30 astaghfiruka wa atubu ilaik, wal afwu 49:33 minkum. Wassalamualaikum warahmatullahi 49:36 wabarakatuh. Waalaikumsalam 49:37 warahmatullahi wabarakatuh. Thank you, 49:39 Ustaz Husin Alatas, for the explanation 49:42 and the response to the phenomena 49:44 occurring in society. Ustaz has 49:46 explained how lineage should ideally 49:48 serve as fuel for setting a good 49:50 example, Ustaz. Setting an example 49:53 demands responsibility, and as you 49:57 mentioned, it is truly a gift that 50:00 keeps us accountable for that lineage. 50:04 >> And brothers and sisters, while 50:06 improving our fate, as the Ustaz also 50:08 mentioned. Eradicating poverty, 50:10 reducing ignorance, and catching up on 50:12 our shortcomings are, indeed, mandates 50:14 of a real struggle for us all, Ustaz. 50:17 It becomes a collective obligation ( 50:18 fard al-kifayah), Ustaz, perhaps 50:20 falling under tasks suited to each 50:21 person's potential. 50:22 >> Yes. Very well, brothers and sisters. 50:24 May we all be able to take lessons from 50:26 our meeting this morning and from the 50:29 explanation provided by Ustaz Husin 50:31 Alatas. We will conclude by reciting 50:34 the kaffaratul majlis prayer. 50:36 Subhanakallahumma wabihamdik, ashadu 50:37 alla ilaha illa anta, astaghfiruka wa 50:38 atubu ilaik. Billahi taufiq wal hidayah 50:40 . Wassalamualaikum warahmatullahi 50:42 wabarakatuh. Waalaikumsalam.
