In the name of Allah, 1:54 the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. 1:57 In the name of Allah, the best of names 1:59 . In the name of Allah, the Lord of the 2:01 earth and the heavens. All praise is 2:06 due to Allah, to You is the praise and 2:08 the thanks, our Lord, as befits the 2:10 majesty of Your Noble Countenance and 2:12 the greatness of Your dominion. Glory 2:15 be to You, we cannot enumerate Your 2:17 praises; You are as You have praised 2:19 Yourself. To You is all praise until 2:23 You are pleased, and to You is all 2:25 praise when You are pleased, and to You 2:27 is all praise after You are pleased; 2:29 and may peace be upon our master and 2:31 our prophet, Muhammad, and his family. 2:39 And those who follow his path until the 2:40 Day of Judgment. O Allah, grant us 2:44 mercy from You, bestow upon us useful 2:47 knowledge from You, and benefit us with 2:49 what You have taught us. O Messenger of 2:53 Allah. Peace be upon us and upon the 2:56 righteous servants of Allah; and peace 2:58 be upon you, the believing brothers and 3:00 the believing sisters, and the mercy 3:02 and blessings of Allah. Firstly, let us 3:07 begin by reciting the Ummul Quran. I 3:11 seek refuge in Allah from the accursed 3:13 Satan. In the name of Allah, the Most 3:18 Gracious, the Most Merciful. All praise 3:24 is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds. 3:30 The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. 3:35 Master of the Day of Judgment. You 3:40 alone we worship, and You alone we ask 3:43 for help. Guide us to the straight path 3:49 . The path of those upon whom You have 3:54 bestowed Your grace. Not of those who 3:58 have evoked [Your] anger or of those 4:00 who are astray. 4:10 Alright, Ustaz. We will go straight to 4:12 the questions that have come in. I will 4:15 start with the first question from Ibu 4:18 Lisa Emilda, who sent her question via 4:21 voice note. Yes. Please go ahead. 4:27 Peace be upon you, and Allah's mercy 4:29 and blessings, Ustaz Husein, Ustaz 4:31 Hamzah, Pak Krisna, and everyone. 4:34 I am Ibu Liza from Bekasi, and I would 4:35 like to ask a question, Ustaz. 4:37 Please go ahead, Ma'am. I once opened 4:40 YouTube with the intention of learning 4:44 the rhythm of reciting the Quran, Ustaz 4:47 . But I came across a scholar who 4:52 explained that one is not allowed to 4:55 recite the Quran with a wavering, 4:58 melodic voice, Ustaz. So, what I would 5:03 like to ask is, what are our limits in 5:06 reciting the Quran? Because I have also 5:10 heard that when we recite the Quran, we 5:13 are encouraged to beautify our voice, 5:15 Ustaz. But specifically for us, women, 5:20 what are the limits, Ustaz, and what is 5:22 the best practice? I would appreciate 5:25 your guidance, Ustaz. Thank you very 5:27 much. Peace be upon you, and Allah's 5:29 mercy and blessings. And 5:31 peace be upon you, and Allah's mercy 5:33 and blessings. 5:37 Answering Mrs. Emilda's question. In 5:42 accordance with the guidance of the 5:44 Noble Qur'an which teaches His 5:48 Messenger, may Allah bless him and his 5:50 family and grant them peace, how to 5:51 recite the Qur'an as stated in Surah 5:56 Al-Muzzammil. "Warattilil qurana 5:59 tartila." Now, recite the Qur'an with 6:04 tartil (measured rhythm). Where our 6:09 recitation is not just merely reading, 6:15 nor is it just about beautifying the 6:18 voice, but what we recite must truly, 6:21 yes, touch our hearts. Where the rhythm 6:30 of the verses we feel truly unified 6:36 with our soul. We read without rushing, 6:41 with a beautiful and good rhythm. Yes, 6:45 we follow the laws and rules taught by 6:49 Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. As in Surah 6:54 Al-Qiyamah, Allah says to His Messenger 6:57 , "La tuharrik bihi lisanaka lita'jala 7:01 bihi." Do not move your tongue in 7:06 reciting the Qur'an in a rush. "Inna ' 7:11 alaina jam'ahu wa qur'anahu." You do 7:13 not need to worry about forgetting. It 7:16 is Our responsibility to collect the 7:18 Qur'an: "Inna' alaina jam'ahu wa 7:22 qur'anahu." Likewise, it is Our 7:25 obligation to recite it and teach how 7:29 to recite it: "Faidza qara'nahu fattabi 7:32 'qur'anahu"(so when We recite the 7:35 Qur'an to you, follow the way it is 7:38 recited). "Thumma inna' alaina bayanahu 7:43 "(then it becomes Our responsibility to 7:45 explain the Qur'an after the passing of 7:48 our Prophet Muhammad, may Allah bless 7:51 him and grant him peace). With the 7:55 evolving challenges of the times, Allah 7:59 Subhanahu wa ta'ala explains the Qur'an 8:03 to the rabbaniin who study the Qur'an 8:07 sincerely and convey it to mankind. 8:12 Allah grants them inspiration to 8:14 understand the Qur'an through the 8:16 method of connecting the Qur'an with 8:17 the Qur'an. So, Mrs. Emilda, when we 8:22 read with tartil, it is different than 8:25 when we read in a rush. We stop at the 8:29 end of each verse. Do not be like some 8:33 people reading Al-Fatihah connecting 8:38 one to another. For example, 8:40 bismillahirrahmanirrahim. 8:42 Alhamdulillahi rabbil 8:44 alaminrahmanirrahim. Maliki yaumiddin. 8:48 This is a way of reading that does not 8:50 accord with Allah's command. But the 8:53 Prophet, when reading, he would stop at 8:56 the end of every verse. 8:58 Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. 9:02 Alhamdulillahirabbil alamin. 9:07 Arrahmanirrahim. Maliki yaumiddin. 9:16 Iyyaka na'budu wa iyyaka nasta'in. 9:22 Ihdinasirathal mustaqim. 9:27 Sirathalladzina an'amta 'alaihim. 9:33 Ghairil maghdubi' alaihim 9:34 waladh-dhallin. The rhythm is not 9:46 compromised. Meaning it remains with a 9:48 good rhythm following the rules of 9:50 tajweed. Whether it is the idgham, the 9:54 ikhfa, as well as the madd, according 9:57 to what Allah taught us all through our 10:00 Prophet Muhammad, may Allah bless him 10:03 and grant him peace. But if someone 10:07 recites the Qur'an in a shrill and 10:10 undulating way, eventually people are 10:12 not focused on what? On the meaning of 10:16 the Qur'an, but rather tend to follow 10:19 the rhythm of the verses read in a 10:25 shrill manner. We used to know in Egypt 10:30 , there was Sheikh Abdul Basit Abdus 10:32 Samad, and there was also Sheikh Mahmud 10:35 Khalil al-Hussary. People preferred the 10:39 recitation of Sheikh Mahmud Khalil 10:42 al-Hussary compared to Sheikh Abdul 10:45 Basit Abdul Samad, who when reading, 10:47 shifted from qira'at to qira'at with a 10:50 shrill recitation. People were absorbed 10:53 in listening to the voice and the 10:55 reading, but were distracted from the 10:58 meaning. Eventually, Sheikh Abdul Basit 11:02 Abdul Samad began to shift to reciting 11:04 the Qur'an with tartil, just as we hear 11:07 in his recitation. Now, if we follow 11:13 the recitation of Sheikh Mahmoud Khalil 11:15 al-Hussary, both in his tartil and 11:18 qira'ah mujawwadah, we see how deeply 11:20 it touches the heart. The rhythm is 11:25 also quite engaging, such as when he 11:28 recites Surah Ar-Rahman. In the name of 11:32 Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most 11:33 Merciful. The Most Gracious. It is He 11:39 Who has taught the Qur'an. He has 11:44 created man: He has taught him speech ( 11:46 and intelligence). If we recite it with 11:50 tartil as Allah has taught, subhanallah 11:53 . Even those who do not understand 11:55 Arabic, their hearts are moved. The 11:59 Qur'an in its entirety is shifa, a 12:01 healing. Even the rhythm, when recited 12:04 according to the rules taught by Allah, 12:07 becomes a healing for us, a remover of 12:09 our sadness, a soothe for our hearts, 12:12 and even has an effect on our physical 12:15 bodies. So, ladies, you read the Qur'an 12:20 without what? Without completely 12:23 ignoring the rhythm, yes. But do not 12:26 let the rhythm be what? Be the main 12:28 focus of our attention. Align the 12:31 rhythm with the tartil of the Qur'an. 12:34 Tartil means we read it truly, what? 12:38 Verse by verse, yes, without skipping 12:41 around or reading with high-pitched 12:44 trills like some Indonesian qaris. We 12:48 used to hear Muhammad from Sulawesi, 12:50 whose recitation followed Al-Hussary. 12:53 But there are qaris who focus more on 12:56 what? On reading with a high-pitched 12:59 and winding voice. Then the listeners 13:01 say "Allah." 13:03 Even when mentioning the hellfire, they 13:05 still say "Allah." H. 13:06 So they are not paying attention to the 13:09 meaning, but paying attention to the 13:11 rhythm. Now, the rhythm should be in 13:15 line with the meaning. This is what is 13:18 called tartil, stopping at the end of 13:20 every verse. But there is specific 13:25 advice for women. When they recite the 13:30 Qur'an among women, they can let others 13:33 hear the Qur'an. More freely in front 13:38 of women compared to men. It does not 13:43 mean a woman's voice is awrah, but 13:45 sometimes a woman reading with an 13:48 alluring rhythm for some men whose 13:51 hearts are diseased, they are sometimes 13:54 more tempted by the rhythm rather than 13:57 the Qur'an itself. So, to avoid fitnah, 14:01 ladies may read more freely in front of 14:04 women with tartil. But in front of men, 14:08 it is better that the ones reciting the 14:10 Qur'an are men. Ladies must understand 14:14 that the voices of women also send out 14:17 signals and vibrations. Now, for some 14:21 men whose hearts are diseased, it is 14:23 feared that it will eventually cause a 14:26 negative impact. Like the wives of the 14:29 Prophet. Allah gave them advice. O 14:33 wives of the Prophet, you are not like 14:35 any other women. O women of the 14:38 Prophet's family, you are not the same 14:40 as other women. Meaning you are in the 14:43 spotlight, you are being followed. So 14:46 if your actions are wrong, they will be 14:48 followed; if they are good, they will 14:50 also be followed. Then be not soft in 14:53 speech. When you speak, if you are a 14:57 pious woman, your way of speaking 15:00 should not be winding or have an 15:02 alluring rhythm. Speak in a flat tone. 15:06 Sayyidah Aishah spoke to the Prophet's 15:08 companions with a flat rhythm. As for 15:11 the beautiful and engaging rhythm, let 15:13 it be used for their respective 15:15 husbands. Lest he in whose heart is a 15:17 disease. Should covet. In whose heart 15:25 is a disease. Ultimately, people whose 15:27 hearts are diseased are tempted by that 15:29 rhythm. So, ladies. When reciting the 15:35 Quran, do not ignore the rhythm that 15:38 suits the verses we are reading, but do 15:41 not let us or the listeners focus only 15:44 on the rhythm; rather, we should recite 15:47 the Quran as a unified whole. Heard by 15:52 the ears, entering into the heart. Even 15:55 the reciter themselves will be deeply 15:56 moved by it. Now, if the Quran is 16:00 recited this way, God willing, it will 16:03 truly penetrate into our innermost 16:05 hearts and bring about change in our 16:07 lives. God knows best. 16:09 Hm. 16:11 So, we must remember the basic 16:14 principles of reading the Quran. What 16:17 do you mean? 16:18 If one wants to maintain the quality of 16:21 the recitation, and also pay attention 16:26 to its rules. Hm. 16:28 How is that done, Ustaz? Especially if 16:31 the goal is, for example, to teach it. 16:33 Earlier, it was also mentioned that I 16:35 listen to it on YouTube. 16:37 So, we are spreading this, right Ustaz? 16:39 We spread it so people can listen to it 16:42 . 16:43 So that the improvement of Quranic 16:45 recitation becomes a standard for us. 16:47 Oh, so that's how it's recited. This 16:49 means when we teach the Quran, we are 16:52 naturally teaching them not just how to 16:54 recite, but also the etiquette of 16:56 reciting the Quran. 16:58 Hm. 16:59 Purify oneself first. We must 17:02 distinguish between the Book of Allah 17:03 and other books. We must also purify 17:05 our intentions solely for the sake of 17:07 Allah. When we learn the Quran, first 17:10 of all, for laypeople, we start by 17:12 recognizing the letters. Then, after 17:15 they know the letters, they arrange the 17:17 words and recite them with a rhythm 17:19 that is appropriate for what? The 17:22 reverence of the Quran. Do not let the 17:24 rhythm be highlighted more while the 17:26 Quran itself is diminished. Ultimately, 17:29 it provides no inspiration or change in 17:31 our lives at all. When I read the Quran 17:35 or listen to others reading the Quran 17:37 with a disciplined rhythm, I am 17:39 incredibly touched. Sometimes when we 17:42 are in a distressed state, once we hear 17:45 the Quran being recited with a touching 17:47 rhythm, all our sorrows and sadness 17:49 disappear immediately. Just as Allah 17:52 says: "And We send down of the Quran 17:54 that which is healing and mercy for the 17:56 believers." So, ladies and gentlemen, 17:59 you can watch how to recite the Quran 18:01 on YouTube, but we should accustom 18:03 ourselves when reading, or have the 18:05 students who are learning, to truly 18:08 maintain etiquette before the Book of 18:10 Allah. Because being in the presence of 18:13 the Book of Allah is the same as being 18:14 in the presence of Allah Subhanahu wa 18:16 ta'ala. God knows best. Alright, Ustaz. 18:20 Let's move to another question. 18:22 This is from Ibu Bonita. Peace be upon 18:25 you, and Allah's mercy and blessings. 18:26 And peace be upon you, and Allah's 18:28 mercy and blessings. Ibu Bonita. 18:29 Ustaz, who is blessed by Allah 18:31 Subhanahu wa ta'ala. 18:31 Amen. God willing. In Surah Ar-Rum, 18:34 verse 41, which means: "Corruption has 18:37 appeared throughout the land and sea by 18:39 [reason of] what the hands of people 18:42 have earned..." What I am asking, Ustaz 18:44 , is whether corruption on land and at 18:47 sea was already happening during the 18:49 time of the Prophet Muhammad sallallahu 18:51 alaihi wasallam, just as it is 18:53 happening in this era? How do you 18:56 explain this, Ustaz? May Allah reward 18:58 you with much goodness. 19:00 In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious 19:02 , the Most Merciful. "O my Lord, 19:04 increase me in knowledge and join me 19:06 with the righteous." This verse in 19:09 Surah Ar-Rum is actually an education 19:11 for the followers of our Prophet 19:14 Muhammad, may Allah's peace and 19:16 blessings be upon him and his family. 19:19 Because this verse is not limited only 19:21 to the people who lived during the time 19:23 of the Prophet. But as the principle in 19:26 Ulumul Qur'an states, al-ibrah 19:28 bi-umumil lafzi la bi-khususis sabab. 19:32 The benchmark and guidance are the 19:34 general phrasing, not the specific 19:37 reason for the revelation of the Qur'an 19:39 . Furthermore, the Qur'an also reminds 19:43 us not to cause corruption on the earth 19:45 . Wala tufsidu fil ardi ba'da islah. 19:51 The nature created by Allah, and the 19:55 human being created by Allah, were 19:57 created for the first time in a state 19:58 of perfect balance. Allah says, " 20:02 Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. 20:04 Sabbihismaikal a'la." Glorify the name 20:08 of your Lord, the Most High. Do not let 20:13 it cross your mind to attribute 20:15 unworthy or deficient qualities to 20:17 Allah. Because Allah is glorified above 20:21 all of that. Once our hearts 20:24 internalize the purity of Allah, a 20:26 positive perception of Allah will arise 20:28 . Not the opposite, such as the 20:31 negative perceptions we hear from some 20:33 people regarding Allah. Alladzi khalaqo 20:38 fasawa. He who created and fashioned 20:40 everything. How He maintains the 20:44 balance of His creation and perfects it 20:46 . Walladzi qaddara, and He established 20:51 the laws, rules, and measures for all 20:54 created beings. Then Allah provides us 20:58 guidance to study those laws, giving 21:02 birth to various scientific disciplines 21:06 related to humans, known as biology. 21:12 And we observe that biology branches 21:14 out and is divided into extraordinarily 21:17 amazing sub-disciplines. These are all 21:20 from the laws of Allah that Allah 21:21 Subhanahu wa ta'ala established in the 21:23 human body. Then we also witness how 21:30 the universe, the firmament, starting 21:37 from our solar system, our galaxy, from 21:40 all of it, the amazing science of 21:43 astronomy was born. The layers of the 21:48 earth birthed geology and various 21:50 branches of science, not originating 21:52 from nothingness, but from the laws of 21:55 Allah. Everything is full of balance. 21:59 In Surah Al-Mulk, Allah says, "Ma tara 22:01 fi khalqir-rahmani min tafawut, 22:04 farji'il-basar hal tara min futur." You 22:07 will not find in the creation of the 22:10 Most Gracious any imbalance. So look 22:13 again, do you see any flaw in the 22:16 creation of Allah? 22:19 Here, we find that everything coming 22:22 from Allah, including humans—laqad 22:25 khalaqnal insana fi ahsani taqwim— 22:28 comes in full balance and perfection. 22:33 But it is human hands that cause 22:34 corruption, whether before the 22:36 Prophet's time, during the Prophet's 22:38 time, or today, it is those human hands 22:40 that create corruption. During the time 22:44 of our Prophet Muhammad sallallahu 22:47 alaihi wasallam, there was corruption 22:49 on land due to human actions. Likewise 22:52 in the oceans with pollution, even if 22:54 not on the massive scale seen today. No 22:58 matter how small, Allah forbids us from 23:00 causing any corruption. We are even 23:04 forbidden to urinate in random places. 23:07 Let alone in anthills or places where 23:09 people take shelter. This is truly an 23:12 act that is forbidden in religion. In 23:15 fact, the Messenger of Allah included 23:19 removing obstacles from the road. Yes, 23:23 that is a part of what? A branch of 23:26 faith. Shu'batun minal iman. So, Islam 23:29 teaches us first and foremost to 23:32 surrender ourselves to Allah. and then 23:35 teaches us to do good (ihsan) and not 23:37 to cause corruption on this earth. So, 23:41 Ma'am, the corruption that occurred 23:44 during the time of the Prophet was on a 23:46 small scale. As time goes on, humanity 23:51 multiplies, more areas are inhabited, 23:54 the damage they cause increases; rivers 23:57 are filled with waste, causing 23:59 pollution, destruction, and many 24:02 animals that were once in the rivers 24:05 die as a result. Piles of trash cause 24:10 silting, leading to floods and 24:12 deforestation. Yes, we also see how 24:16 glass houses or glass buildings 24:19 nowadays cause an increase in our 24:23 global warming; pollution is also a 24:26 result of what? From industry, from 24:30 motor vehicles. This is inevitable as a 24:34 side effect of human actions. Let's not 24:37 look too far, take developed countries. 24:39 Singapore, for example, is a small 24:41 country but tries to minimize what, uh, 24:44 the influence of what? From carbon 24:48 emissions, so we find that cars do not 24:51 emit black smoke. But in our country, 24:54 we notice that supervision is lacking, 24:56 and love for the nation and the country 24:59 is also lacking. So the level of damage 25:01 in our country is extraordinarily 25:03 severe. So, Ma'am, everything that 25:05 comes from Allah is goodness. But 25:07 corruption comes from us. Allah never 25:11 created something flawed. Then people 25:13 ask, "How about it, Ustaz, a child born 25:15 with a disability?" Allah created 25:18 humans with His laws leading to 25:20 perfection. But it is humans who commit 25:24 violations, a mother who smokes, or a 25:27 husband who drinks alcohol, or a man 25:29 who engages in promiscuity and then has 25:32 relations with his wife, eventually 25:35 causing disturbances in the fetus's 25:37 growth. Or a mother who consumes 25:41 antihistamines or steroids that are 25:43 dangerous for the pregnancy. So when 25:46 the child is born disabled, it is not 25:47 because of Allah's creation. Allah's 25:50 creation leads to perfection, but human 25:52 hands cause the damage. The same 25:56 applies in the midst of our society. 25:59 How society's life becomes damaged due 26:02 to the neglect and enabling of rampant 26:05 immorality. Likewise, as a result of 26:08 corruption, as a result of what? 26:11 Conditions of society living below the 26:14 poverty line. Finally, it gives birth 26:17 to various kinds of criminal acts. Now, 26:20 in the time of our Prophet Muhammad, 26:23 peace be upon him, we see that doing 26:26 damage on earth included shedding blood 26:30 , committing acts of oppression, and 26:33 causing various kinds of suffering for 26:36 what? For humanity. While in the oceans 26:40 , according to what? Pollution at that 26:42 time. As for Allah not mentioning the 26:46 air, it was because at that time it was 26:48 very, very far away. Now, if we were to 26:52 add "fasadu fil barri wal bahri wal 26:54 jawi"(corruption on land, at sea, and 26:57 in the air), we see extraordinary 27:00 pollution even causing tears in our 27:02 ozone layer, our atmosphere. This is 27:06 all the result of human actions. Do not 27:09 attribute it back to Allah. Therefore, 27:12 Prophet Ibrahim in his talbiyah during 27:14 the Hajj said, "Labbaik allahumma 27:15 labbaik, al-khairu minka washarru laisa 27:17 ilaika,"(Here I am O Allah, here I am, 27:19 all goodness is from You and evil is 27:21 not attributed to You), meaning all 27:23 goodness is from You, while evil 27:24 returns to us. In Surah An-Nisa, Allah 27:27 says, "Ma asobaka min hasanatin 27:29 faminallah." The goodness you receive 27:31 is from Allah. "Wa ma asobaka min 27:33 sayiatin famin nafsik." The evil that 27:36 befalls you is the result of your own 27:37 actions. So, Ma'am, when this verse was 27:40 revealed, the scope of corruption was 27:42 not yet as extensive. But this verse is 27:45 not just for the people who lived 27:47 during the Prophet's time, but for 27:49 every era. Because this book is the 27:52 final book and our prophet is also the 27:54 final prophet. Wallahu'alam (Allah 27:56 knows best). 27:58 Ustaz, just a quick thought, because 28:01 corruption on land and sea was 28:03 mentioned earlier. In the time of the 28:06 Prophet, and even before him until the 28:09 present day, there is one cause for 28:11 that corruption that has likely 28:13 remained the same. 28:15 That is war, Ustaz. 28:17 In the Prophet's time, I recall a 28:19 report stating that Rome and Persia 28:22 were at war for hundreds of years, 28:25 Ustaz. 28:26 Yes. 28:26 There are even stories 28:28 that the Red Sea and the Caspian Sea 28:31 were areas of bloodshed, right? So, 28:34 these wars, Ustaz, why have they 28:38 existed since the time of previous 28:42 prophets, and why do they never end? 28:47 That leads to destruction, doesn't it? 28:50 How can Islam actually 28:52 quell war, Ustaz? If we observe 28:57 together, the Quran explains in Surah 28:59 Al-Baqarah, "Ka-nannasu ummatan wahidah 29:04 ." 29:05 Yes. 29:06 Humans were initially one community 29:09 originating from the same source, with 29:12 Allah as their Creator. 29:14 They also came from the same father and 29:17 mother. The blood flowing through their 29:20 bodies is also the same. Allah created 29:24 them into tribes and nations not to 29:26 compete, but to get to know one another 29:28 , to love, and to cooperate. But the 29:33 influence of desire and Satan is 29:35 extraordinary. Earlier, humans were " 29:39 umatan wahidah"(one nation). " 29:42 Faba'atsallahun nabiyyina mubashshirina 29:44 wa mundhirin." There is a part of the 29:46 verse not explicitly mentioned here. It 29:49 is a "majaz bil-hadf." A figure of 29:52 speech omitting a part of the sentence 29:54 because it is understood. Why did Allah 29:57 send the prophets and messengers? 29:59 Because mankind "ikhtalafu wa-tafarraqu 30:01 "(differed and split). 30:02 So, "kannasu ummatan wahidatan 30:04 fakhtalafu." 30:07 Once they disagree, it will naturally 30:13 lead them toward hatred, rivalry, and 30:15 bloodshed. "Faba'atsallahun nabiyyina 30:20 mubashshirina wa mun-dhirin." So Allah 30:24 sent the prophets to give glad tidings 30:26 and warnings. Giving glad tidings to 30:30 those who are obedient. Those who guard 30:33 themselves, do good, and return to 30:36 Allah. Warnings for those who commit 30:39 evil and oppression on the face of the 30:41 earth. Because Islam teaches its 30:45 followers not to commit oppression. Yes 30:47 . 30:48 Even toward non-Muslims, we are not 30:51 permitted to disturb their honor or 30:55 their lives unless they initiate such 30:59 things. 31:00 By taking up arms or inciting evil; 31:03 because of that evil, we fight them. 31:06 Therefore, Allah says, "Wala 31:07 taqtulun-nafsallati harramallahu illa 31:09 bil-haqq." Do not kill lives that Allah 31:13 has forbidden, except for a just cause. 31:17 What are the things that Allah has 31:18 forbidden? The life of every human 31:19 being. In his lifetime, the Prophet 31:21 never thought of killing or fighting 31:24 those who did not believe in him. 31:26 As long as they live peacefully and do 31:28 not cause corruption, it is forbidden 31:30 for us to disturb them. Even if they 31:34 seek our protection, we are obligated 31:35 to protect them. As stated in the word 31:38 of Allah wain ahadun minal 31:45 musyrikinjarta the word in Surah 31:51 At-Tawbah. If a polytheist seeks your 31:54 protection from, let's say, their 31:56 enemies who are threatening them, and 31:58 they are not a criminal, you must 32:00 protect them. Then recite the verses of 32:03 Allah; whether they accept it or not is 32:05 their own affair. 32:07 Provide a safe place for them. 32:09 Convey them to a safe place. But if a 32:12 person commits a crime, let alone a 32:15 non-Muslim, if a Muslim commits murder, 32:18 they will naturally be subject to what? 32:21 Sanctions according to their actions. 32:23 It is returned to the family to decide 32:26 whether to demand the death penalty as 32:28 per the crime or to grant forgiveness 32:31 through what? By paying compensation, 32:33 or granting full forgiveness without 32:35 paying any compensation. So, Islam, 32:40 from Prophet Adam (peace be upon him) 32:42 to the last prophet, with the 32:44 scriptures that Allah revealed to the 32:47 prophets, forbids murder and the 32:49 shedding of human blood without 32:51 justification. The Prophet even 32:54 declared this before the UN 32:57 yes 32:59 at the Farewell Pilgrimage, the Prophet 33:02 firmly stated, "Know that Allah has 33:04 forbidden your blood, your honor, and 33:07 your wealth among yourselves. Just as 33:11 Allah has forbidden the sacred day of 33:14 the 10th of Dhul-Hijjah, in the month 33:16 forbidden by Allah, in the land 33:18 forbidden by Allah." Hmm. 33:20 So we see how far in advance our 33:23 Prophet declared this. Therefore, the 33:27 first murderer, the son of Adam who 33:29 killed his brother, 33:30 every time a murder occurs, he bears 33:33 and carries a share of the burden of 33:36 that murder. Likewise with the Children 33:37 of Israel. Whoever commits murder or 33:41 causes corruption on earth, 33:44 then they get a share of all that 33:46 corruption. katabani israilahuqan 33:53 nafsin ard 33:58 We have decreed for the Children of 34:00 Israel because they are the 34:01 grandchildren of the prophets 34:04 bearers of the scripture whoever among 34:08 them kills a soul without a just cause 34:11 or commits corruption on earth, it is 34:14 as if they have killed all of mankind; 34:17 this Netanyahu, the Jews, all the 34:19 criminals who carry out these massacres 34:22 , 34:23 what they are doing is not only against 34:26 the people of Palestine, but against 34:28 all of humanity. 34:29 Waman ahyaha fakaama ahyasa jam. But 34:33 the good among them, who saves a life, 34:35 it is as if they have saved all of 34:37 mankind. This is the teaching of 34:39 religion. Fabatallah nabiina 34:42 mubasyirina wazala maahumul kitab bilq. 34:48 Allah sent down the Scripture with them 34:50 to judge among people regarding the 34:52 disputes that occurred between them. 34:57 But humans do not want Allah's guidance 35:01 . Humans who are free with their base 35:05 desires commit crimes and tyranny, 35:07 especially with manipulation techniques 35:09 today. They can make black white, and 35:13 white black. Like Zionist Israel, yes. 35:16 They reason that they are acting in 35:18 self-defense. 35:19 Yes. 35:20 They commit crimes on the face of the 35:21 earth. Yet they appear as people 35:25 fighting to defend their rights. This 35:27 is truly an extraordinary crime. 35:30 America is involved, Britain is 35:31 involved. Yes, we hope that Allah will 35:34 give them punishment befitting their 35:36 deeds. 35:37 We leave it to Allah as to when that 35:39 will happen. So, Mas Angga, regarding 35:42 the role of religion. 35:44 Yeah. Which was brought by the prophets 35:48 and messengers, it truly commands us to 35:50 protect human rights. It is forbidden 35:55 to harm their blood, their wealth, or 35:57 their honor. There are some Muslims who 35:59 say that the wealth of non-believers 36:00 can be, what? Taken. Who said that? 36:03 Hm. 36:04 This shames them as a Muslim. If they 36:08 trade fairly and are our neighbors 36:11 without committing crimes, it is 36:13 forbidden for us to disturb their honor 36:17 . Even to take their wealth, unless 36:20 they are involved in supporting our 36:23 enemies, acting as spies, or using the 36:26 wealth obtained to fight us. Then, it 36:30 naturally follows that it is forbidden 36:33 for us to buy their goods, like those 36:35 that support Zionists. We are not only 36:38 commanded to be good, but it is 36:40 forbidden for us to buy their goods. 36:42 Because why? Because it is the same as 36:44 supporting the enemy to slaughter our 36:46 brothers, 36:47 even if indirectly. 36:50 Wallahu'alam. 36:52 Alright, Ustaz. We move to the next 36:53 question. There is a voice note here 36:56 from Mr. Wisnu. Okay, let's play the 36:59 question. Bismillah. Assalamualaikum 37:03 Ustaz Husein. Uh, I am Wisnu from Bogor 37:07 . I would like to ask, Ustaz. 37:10 Yes. 37:11 It's like this, Ustaz. Currently, my 37:14 company is participating in a tender 37:17 for a project out of town, and I happen 37:20 to be the PIC. In an internal 37:27 discussion regarding the project budget 37:33 , several of us agreed to set aside a 37:40 percentage to be offered later as a 37:45 gift to the committee. So, with the 37:51 intention, quote-unquote, of it being a 37:55 gift before the winner is determined, 37:59 and if we are chosen as the winners, we 38:03 will give that gift to the committee 38:06 members. But some friends, our 38:13 colleagues, in this discussion do not 38:19 agree with this, Ustaz. According to 38:22 them, this is the same as tricking or 38:27 manipulating Allah's law, where we 38:32 pretend to give a gift before the 38:36 winner is decided with the goal that we 38:42 become the winners. And this falls into 38:44 the category of a bribe. So, according 38:49 to them, later, the earnings we get 38:56 from that project will not be blessed. 39:01 So, my question is this, Ustaz. Is it 39:06 true that this falls into the category 39:10 of*riswah*or bribery if we do this by 39:14 promising a gift to the committee if we 39:20 are chosen as the winners? And is it 39:24 also true that if we win and then the 39:31 proceeds from that work become*haram* 39:33 and lack blessing, Ustaz? That is all 39:37 my question, Ustaz. Uh, may Ustaz and 39:41 the entire Rasil family in general 39:45 always be given safety and blessings by 39:50 Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. Mr. Wisnu 39:54 and colleagues, may peace be upon you. 39:57 Peace be upon you, and Allah's mercy 39:58 and blessings. 39:59 And peace be upon you, and Allah's 40:00 mercy and blessings. 40:01 All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of 40:03 all worlds. O Allah, send blessings 40:04 upon Muhammad and the family of 40:05 Muhammad. Our Lord, increase us in 40:08 knowledge and join us with the 40:09 righteous. If we are speaking outside 40:15 the rules of Islam, if someone were to 40:19 carry out this deal in Singapore, 40:25 what would happen? 40:28 I don't think it's possible, Ustadz. 40:30 They would face penalties. 40:32 Yes. The committee deciding the winner 40:35 is doing something like this. 40:38 What does that mean? They are no longer 40:40 , er, choosing, right? 40:42 H 40:43 Choosing what? The company submitting 40:48 the tender objectively, they are no 40:50 longer professional, but what? They 40:54 look and determine subjectively, like 40:57 in Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia is 41:01 actually the country with the most 41:04 chaotic rules. H 41:09 An emir in Saudi Arabia is, let's say, 41:12 appointed as an emir who rules the city 41:15 of Mecca. Whenever there is a 41:19 construction project offered to them, 41:22 they usually ask, "How much commission 41:25 will you give us?" Hm. 41:30 So, to satisfy their greed, the 41:33 contractors raise the tender price very 41:37 high. They don't care. The important 41:41 thing is, how much will you give us? 41:44 The highest bidder is the one who has 41:47 the right to win. Automatically, who is 41:50 disadvantaged? The state. Right? The 41:53 state is disadvantaged. But because the 41:57 state belongs to the king and the 42:00 rulers, they use this actually for what 42:03 ? To provide profit and benefits for 42:08 their family. This is no longer the 42:12 right of the Muslims, but what is in 42:15 Saudi Arabia and all its wealth belongs 42:17 to the king and his family. While the 42:20 people are just passengers. But in 42:26 countries we consider civilized, we see 42:29 how such actions are not justified. 42:33 There are even severe legal rules. 42:37 Those who commit such acts could lose 42:40 their jobs 42:42 and could even end up in prison. Now, 42:47 in Indonesia, we actually need honest, 42:50 clean people to make changes. Don't say 42:55 it's impossible, we can make changes in 42:58 our country. Know that just as a large 43:02 fire starts from a spark, likewise 43:04 change starts from what? From small 43:08 work. I witnessed in one country where 43:14 the beach was full of waste due to a 43:17 ship spill. A tanker ship spilled, 43:21 causing the beach to be full of dirt. 43:25 Someone who loves nature came down. He 43:30 was all by himself. 43:32 Yes. He used simple tools to clean the 43:35 beach 43:37 alone. 43:38 All alone. He knew it was impossible 43:41 for him to do the cleaning alone. But 43:45 when he did it alone, trying to remove 43:47 the waste, people watched, and finally, 43:50 people felt called until the government 43:52 was embarrassed. 43:56 In the end, they worked together to 43:58 clean it up. So if Mr. Wisnu and your 44:02 colleagues in the company submit a 44:05 tender, submit the tender openly and 44:09 transparently, if you were to win, we 44:12 can carry out our work with a calm and 44:16 peaceful heart. Because if we set aside 44:20 , say, a gift for the committee, we 44:22 inevitably have to raise our tender 44:24 price. We will address the tenders and 44:27 the committee's betrayal. Against those 44:30 who placed their trust in them. Now, we 44:32 are also part of those involved in such 44:35 acts of betrayal. And Mr. Wisnu and 44:40 colleagues, you need not worry; our 44:42 country is indeed full of people who 44:44 betray, seizing opportunities, but we 44:46 know there is Allah. 44:49 Who has the power to provide better 44:51 opportunities for His honest and 44:53 upright servants. And this is actually 44:56 an effort on our part. To bring about 45:00 improvement in our country. Starting 45:03 from Mr. Wisnu and colleagues in the 45:05 company doing this. Then Allah will 45:10 provide, let's say, opportunities in 45:12 lawful ways that will also invite 45:13 others to do the same. But if we follow 45:18 the current by doing things like this, 45:21 when will our country ever experience 45:24 improvement? So, we hope, yes, we 45:28 become part of those who strive for 45:31 improvement, as Allah says: "And those 45:33 who hold fast to the Book and establish 45:36 prayer, indeed, We will not allow the 45:38 reward of the doers of good to be lost. 45:41 ""He who believes and does righteous 45:45 deeds," yes, "no fear will there be 45:48 concerning them." Whoever does good, 45:50 believes and strives for improvement, 45:53 Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala will provide 45:56 them with immeasurable guarantees. 45:59 Besides the peace of mind in their 46:01 hearts from not committing any 46:02 wrongdoing. Allah also grants success 46:06 that is far better than what is 46:08 obtained through improper ways. Because 46:11 once a person avoids what is forbidden 46:14 by Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala, seeking 46:17 His pleasure and honoring what is good, 46:20 Allah will replace it with something 46:22 better. So, free yourselves from such 46:28 work practices. We will be free, 46:32 honorable, and not experience fear or 46:35 anxiety. Do not let us end up with 46:38 nothing in the end. Suddenly finding 46:41 ourselves accused of conspiring in acts 46:44 of collusion and corruption. Therefore, 46:47 in Surah Al-Baqarah, following the 46:50 verses about fasting, Allah says, "And 46:52 do not consume one another's wealth 46:55 unjustly or send it [in bribery] to the 46:57 rulers in order that [they might aid] 47:00 you [to] consume a portion of the 47:02 wealth of the people in sin, while you 47:05 know [it is unlawful]." Do not consume 47:08 your wealth among yourselves in a 47:10 wrongful manner. Then you give bribes 47:14 to the rulers, to the authorities. Now, 47:16 the committee here determines who the 47:19 winner will be. You consume a portion 47:22 of people's wealth with the intention 47:24 of taking it through unjust means. 47:26 While you are aware. Even though you 47:28 know. I 47:30 In my opinion, Mr. Wisnu, amidst our 47:33 country's situation, which is truly 47:36 saddening, it also breaks our hearts. 47:41 In the midst of such an atmosphere, 47:44 like a dark, gloomy state, if someone 47:47 brings a lamp or a flashlight, even if 47:50 the light isn't large, it becomes a 47:53 hope. But if we join in the darkness, 47:57 eventually when punishment descends, we 48:00 will also be included in it. And I am 48:04 certain, God willing, that if we are 48:06 truly faithful and aware, we strive to 48:09 uphold God's laws, and we are convinced 48:11 that what God has promised us will 48:13 never be lost. Innalladina qalu 48:16 rabbunallah summa istaqamu la khaufun 48:20 alaihim wala hum yahzanun. In another 48:23 verse, tatanazzalu alaihimul malaikatu 48:25 alla takhafu wala tahzanu wa absyiru 48:26 bil jannatillati kuntum tu'adun. Then 48:30 the angels say, "Nahnu auliyaukum fil 48:32 hayatid dunya wafil akhirah." We will 48:35 be your defenders, your protectors in 48:37 the life of this world and the 48:38 hereafter, if we remain steadfast ( 48:40 istiqamah). But as soon as we stray 48:43 from the path of righteousness, God 48:45 commands His angels to disperse and 48:47 leave us. So, let us liberate our souls 48:52 from such actions, with the hope that 48:55 we become part of those who fight for 48:58 the independence of our nation, our 49:01 country. From those who act despicably, 49:06 who have humiliated themselves and 49:08 shamed their nation just for their own 49:10 pleasure and personal interests. God 49:13 knows best. 49:13 Hm. So, regarding this issue, looking 49:18 at our country, Ustaz, it seems there 49:20 are three attitudes we take, Ustaz. 49:23 The first attitude is simply staying 49:25 silent or avoiding the situation when a 49:28 problem arises. 49:29 They don't want to get involved. 49:31 Or the second attitude is to resist it. 49:33 However, this resistance isn't against 49:35 a corporation or an individual. What is 49:37 being resisted is the system, Ustaz. 49:39 Because, especially when looking at 49:40 other countries, their systems aren't 49:42 like that. The third is getting 49:45 involved, diving into it. Now, if we 49:48 want change, that means we are 49:49 resisting, right, Ustaz? So, how do we 49:51 resist the system, Ustaz? 49:52 Meaning, if we look at the system in 49:54 our country, it actually doesn't permit 49:56 these kinds of attitudes. 49:58 But a system depends on those who 50:00 operate and run it. H 50:02 For example, 50:03 the police are tasked with maintaining 50:05 security 50:06 Yeah. 50:06 Within our country, for our people. 50:08 Isn't that right? 50:09 Yes. While our military (TNI) is tasked 50:13 with safeguarding our country's safety 50:16 from those who wish to commit crimes, 50:18 who also threaten the security of our 50:21 nation, 50:23 who enter our border territories, and 50:26 who commit various types of wrongful 50:29 acts. The rules on this are actually 50:33 clear. 50:34 Yeah. But we see how many police 50:38 officers commit betrayal, working 50:42 together with criminals, and 50:45 collaborating with drug dealers. They 50:50 think this is a small matter. Whereas 50:53 what they are doing causes massive 50:54 destruction. Therefore, the ones 50:58 violating the system are actually them, 51:00 Masangga. 51:01 He 51:01 they are the ones violating the system. 51:03 Now, we are the ones trying to 51:05 straighten things out. 51:06 We submit our tenders in a fair, normal 51:09 , and professional manner. Tell them, " 51:14 Please decide based on professionalism. 51:16 " 51:18 He. 51:19 Do not choose us if it ends up harming 51:21 your company's interests. If you see 51:24 our tender is indeed 51:27 truly worthy of acceptance, we pray 51:29 that we may carry out the mandate as 51:31 best as possible. Actually, this is the 51:35 kind of thing we truly hope our 51:37 entrepreneurs will do. And 51:40 entrepreneurs should also leave a 51:42 testament for their children to do the 51:45 same. Until when will our country be in 51:47 good shape? 51:48 I once met Mas Angga and several 51:49 brothers who came to a study session. 51:51 Hm. 51:52 He happened to live in the Netherlands. 51:55 Then he said, "Ustadz, I am not 51:57 comfortable in our country because I 52:00 witness various corrupt practices, and 52:03 opportunities are only controlled by 52:06 certain circles.""The people right in 52:08 front of us are suffering." Therefore, 52:10 I prefer to stay in the Netherlands. I 52:13 told him if people like you, who know 52:15 things are not right, prefer to live 52:18 instantly in the Netherlands, following 52:21 the system's rules made in the 52:23 Netherlands, there is no fighting 52:25 spirit to liberate your nation. Until 52:28 when will your country be free? Later, 52:31 once the country has changed through 52:33 the struggles of others, will you 52:35 return to your country just as what? As 52:37 a passenger, not as someone involved in 52:40 making improvements. So, if our 52:43 brothers have this personality, 52:46 preferring to stay in the Netherlands, 52:48 staying in Europe, staying in America, 52:51 staying, let's say, in New Zealand to 52:54 seek safety. 52:55 Hm. 52:57 Because they are not at all comfortable 52:59 witnessing various incorrect practices 53:02 in their country. Why don't you become 53:04 a part? 53:05 Of making changes. Bring the goodness 53:07 found in other countries to your own 53:09 country. Don't just import the damage, 53:13 like LGBT, free sex, or incorrect 53:16 lifestyles. Why must it be this? 53:19 Why don't they import the goodness that 53:22 exists in other countries instead? 53:24 He. 53:25 So we hope that Mr. Wisno can become a 53:28 hero along with his colleagues by 53:30 rejecting incorrect deeds. You will 53:32 become noble, and you will bring glory 53:34 to your nation and country. But if we 53:37 accept these things, we will demean 53:40 ourselves, 53:41 and we will also destroy our nation. 53:44 Let us not consider our deeds to be 53:46 small. We are a part of what? 53:48 Something great. 53:49 Of something great. Wallahu A'lam. 53:52 Very well, Ustadz. Let's go to Sukabumi 53:55 . 53:55 There is Mr. Susanto. 53:57 from Sukabumi. Peace be upon you, and 53:58 Allah's mercy and blessings. 54:00 And peace be upon you, and Allah's 54:01 mercy and blessings. Ustadz, may I ask 54:03 about Quran Surah Ar-Rahman verse 17. 54:07 Yes. "[He is] Lord of the two sunrises 54:13 and Lord of the two sunsets." How is 54:18 the explanation for this, Ustadz? From 54:20 you, Ustadz. Thank you, may Allah 54:21 reward you. 54:22 Very well. In the name of Allah, the 54:23 Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. The 54:26 Quran often uses figurative language. 54:29 Hm. 54:32 Metaphors; Allah says, "Rabbul 54:34 masyriqaini warabbul maghribain.""So 54:38 which of the favors of your Lord would 54:40 you deny?" In another verse, "Rabbul 54:43 masyariqi wal magharib." 54:45 Hm. "Lord of the [various] risings and 54:49 settings." Actually, in this verse, 54:53 Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala wants to 54:56 explain to us that the whole earth, 54:59 whether it be the eastern or western 55:03 regions, is actually what? God's domain 55:07 of power includes the universe and 55:09 everything within it. Lord of the 55:11 heavens and the earth and whatever is 55:13 between them. Yes. 55:15 So, the Lord of the Easts and the Wests 55:17 . Try to pay attention, Mas Angga. 55:21 Where are the "Masyariq"(Easts)? " 55:24 Masyrik" is East, yes. 55:27 It is the plural of...eh, the plural of 55:28 "Masyrik". Likewise with "Masyriqain"( 55:29 two Easts), yes. 55:30 It is a dual form, right? 55:33 We are in Australia, which is a region 55:36 —well, a region further east than us. 55:40 Is that correct? 55:40 Yes. 55:41 They 55:42 face the sunrise earlier than us in 55:47 Indonesia. After some time, they face 55:54 the sunset. 55:56 Yeah. 55:57 We are the same. Countries that are in 56:01 the western region, even the furthest 56:03 west, 56:04 they face the moments of sunrise and 56:07 also sunset, except in extreme regions. 56:10 Is that right? 56:10 Yeah. 56:11 This means, what is this earth region 56:14 actually? It can be called "Masyrik"( 56:16 East) too, right? It can also be called 56:18 "Maghrib"(West). 56:19 Is that correct? 56:20 Because "Maghrib" describes a place 56:23 Yeah. Yeah. 56:23 of the rising sun and the setting sun. 56:26 And we know that, actually, the sun 56:28 doesn't rise from the east toward the 56:30 west. 56:31 Yeah. 56:32 This is the sun's apparent motion. The 56:35 sun stays in place, the earth rotates. 56:38 Is that right? 56:39 Yes. 56:39 The earth is the one 56:40 rotating. 56:41 Rotation. 56:41 Spinning. 56:43 So, the area facing the sun is called " 56:45 Masyrik". 56:46 Yeah. At the time of setting, it's " 56:49 Maghrib", right? 56:50 Maghrib. 56:50 We face the Masyrik and we also face 56:52 the Maghrib, so the words "Lord of the 56:54 Easts and the Wests" or "Lord of the 56:56 two Easts and the two Wests" 56:58 are actually metaphorical language to 57:00 explain, yes. 57:01 Yeah. 57:03 There is no region on our earth or in 57:06 the universe that is not under God's 57:08 dominion; He is the Creator, the 57:10 Guardian, and the Sustainer. 57:14 Like God's word—some people are 57:16 wondering about God's word regarding 57:20 Zulqarnain. "Wa yas'alunaka 'an 57:23 Zulqarnain, qul..." Yes, "wa 57:27 yas'alunaka' an Zulqarnain". 57:31 Astagfirullahalazim. I forgot. 57:46 In which Surah is that, Ustaz? 57:47 Al-Kahf. 57:48 Al-Kahf. 57:49 We humans, the moment we start feeling 57:54 proud, God shows us our weaknesses. 57:56 Yeah. 57:56 We forget. Whereas Allah Subhanahu wa 57:59 ta'ala never forgets His servants. Is 58:01 that right? 58:01 Yes, Ustaz. 58:02 Never at all forgets His servants. What 58:08 if God were to forget? Zulqarnain 58:29 continued his journey to the place 58:31 where the sun rises, which is "sa-atlu 58:33 'alaikum...""minhu dikra, inna makkanna 58:40 lahu fil-ard wa atainahu min kulli 58:43 syai'in sababa". "wajada fi'ainin 58:56 hamiyah". Pay attention here, " 58:58 yas'alunaka' an Zulqarnain". They ask 59:03 you about Zulqarnain. "Qul sa-atlu ' 59:07 alaikum minhu dikra." Say, "I will 59:10 recite to you a part of his story."" 59:15 Inna makkanna lahu fil-ard wa atainahu 59:17 min kulli syai'in sababa." Indeed, We 59:21 have truly given him what? Given him 59:26 power and authority that is very vast 59:28 upon this earth. 59:31 Given him "tamkin," authority, and vast 59:34 , widespread reach upon this earth. " 59:39 Inna makkanna lahu fil-ard wa atainahu 59:41 min kulli syai'in sababa." And We 59:46 taught him, granted him the "means" 59:50 which represents knowledge, yes. 59:53 Yes. for various kinds of matters. It 59:57 says here "min kulli syai'in sababa," 59:59 from everything God teaches the means 1:00:01 of how to—for what? To learn it, to 1:00:04 control it, and to master it. " 1:00:07 Fa-atba'a sababa," he began to follow 1:00:10 the way with what God had granted him. 1:00:15 "Hatta balagha maghribasy-syams." Until 1:00:18 he arrived, yes, at the furthest point 1:00:21 in the west, yes, the place where the 1:00:24 sun sets. Hatta balagha 1:00:27 maghribash-shams. 1:00:32 Hatta balagha maghribash-shams wajadaha 1:00:36 taghrubu fi' ainin hamiah. Wajadaha 1:00:40 taghrubu fi 'ainin hamiah. He found the 1:00:43 sun setting. The phrase "fi' ainin 1:00:49 hamiah," yes, what is it, a spring area 1:00:53 that is black in color and has an 1:00:55 unpleasant odor; the word "hamiah," we 1:00:59 all know it is impossible for the sun 1:01:02 to set in waters, right? 1:01:05 Yeah. 1:01:06 Black-colored mud. 1:01:07 Yes. 1:01:08 But how does it look to our eyes? 1:01:11 When we witness the sun setting, it is 1:01:14 as if it is sinking, just as when we 1:01:16 look at the ocean at sunset, what do we 1:01:18 also find? 1:01:21 Uh-huh. 1:01:21 The sun as if it were swallowed by the 1:01:23 ocean. 1:01:24 Yes. 1:01:24 True. 1:01:25 Visual perception. 1:01:26 Now, this is visual perception. Allah 1:01:28 speaks to them according to their 1:01:30 visual perception. It does not mean the 1:01:34 sun sinks into waters full of black mud 1:01:38 . Likewise, "Rabbul mashriqaini wal 1:01:42 maghribain" is a metaphor, an allegory, 1:01:45 describing that Allah is almighty, 1:01:47 encompassing everything, be it the 1:01:49 earth or the heavens; He is the Creator 1:01:52 , the Ruler, the Sustainer, and 1:01:54 All-Knowing of what is hidden in the 1:01:56 heavens and on earth. And Allah knows 1:01:59 best. 1:02:01 Alright, Ustaz, can we still answer one 1:02:03 more question? 1:02:05 Let’s go to another voice note 1:02:06 question that has come in, shall we? 1:02:08 This is the last question, brothers and 1:02:11 sisters, from Ibu Nur. Alright, let's 1:02:13 play the question. 1:02:17 Peace be upon you, and Allah's mercy 1:02:18 and blessings, Ustaz. I am Ibu Nur from 1:02:21 Bekasi. 1:02:21 The audio cannot be heard. 1:02:22 I request your advice for us in the 1:02:24 midst of these very difficult economic 1:02:26 conditions like today. 1:02:28 Basic commodities are expensive, gas is 1:02:30 hard to find, jobs are scarce. 1:02:32 Can the question be repeated? How do we 1:02:34 as a society remain optimistic and rely 1:02:37 only on Allah? And we do not rely on 1:02:40 the government, which seems unable to 1:02:42 manage this country. Thank you for your 1:02:45 answer. Peace be upon you, and Allah's 1:02:46 mercy and blessings. 1:02:47 I think I could catch the question just 1:02:48 now, Ustaz. 1:02:49 Peace be upon you, and Allah's mercy 1:02:50 and blessings, Ustaz. I am Ibu Nur from 1:02:53 Bekasi. Ustaz, I request your advice 1:02:55 for us in the midst of these very 1:02:57 difficult economic conditions like 1:02:58 today. Basic commodities are expensive, 1:03:02 gas is hard to find, jobs are scarce. 1:03:04 How do we as a society remain 1:03:06 optimistic and rely only on Allah? 1:03:11 And we do not rely on the government, 1:03:13 which seems unable to manage this 1:03:14 country. Thank you for your answer. 1:03:17 Peace be upon you, and Allah's mercy. 1:03:18 In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious 1:03:19 , the Most Merciful. To our mother, 1:03:20 whose name is? 1:03:21 Peace be upon you, and Allah's mercy 1:03:22 and blessings. 1:03:23 My name is Yudi from Ar-Rahman Mosque, 1:03:25 Bogor. My question is, how can we 1:03:28 improve our worship leading up to the 1:03:30 holy month of Ramadan? Thank you. 1:03:33 The first one, Ibu Nur, 1:03:35 how to face these difficulties, Ustaz. 1:03:37 The second, preparing for Ramadan from 1:03:39 Pak Yudi. 1:03:40 In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious 1:03:42 , the Most Merciful. The Qur'an, as the 1:03:45 holy book that serves as a guide for us 1:03:48 Muslims, has actually shown the way for 1:03:52 Ibu Nur, for me, and for all Muslims. 1:03:57 We must know that as people of faith, 1:04:00 Allah commands us to strive. But at the 1:04:05 same time, God reminds us that it is 1:04:07 not our efforts that produce sustenance 1:04:09 . When we seek treatment, it is not the 1:04:14 medicine or the doctor that heals us. 1:04:17 Seeking treatment and taking medicine 1:04:19 is just an effort, but the one who 1:04:20 heals us is 1:04:21 God. 1:04:21 Likewise, we exert effort, but it is 1:04:24 God who provides sustenance. So, Mrs. 1:04:27 Nur, never rely on anyone in this life. 1:04:33 Not even on your children or capable 1:04:36 relatives. It is not certain that the 1:04:39 child or relative we invest in so 1:04:41 heavily—even borrowing money here and 1:04:44 there—will be the one to support our 1:04:47 lives in the future. We should 1:04:49 certainly educate and raise them, but 1:04:52 we must not hang our lives on them. 1:04:56 Instead, hang your entire life upon God 1:04:58 . And this has been practiced and 1:05:01 exemplified by Lady Hajar. When God 1:05:06 Almighty commanded Abraham to bring his 1:05:09 wife and infant child—both unable to 1:05:13 fend for themselves— 1:05:15 Yeah. 1:05:17 To the valley now known as the holy 1:05:19 city of Mecca. Abraham stayed with his 1:05:23 wife and child for a while. Then, 1:05:26 Abraham told his wife that he was going 1:05:29 to leave them. His wife, who thought 1:05:33 well of Abraham, said, "Allahu amaraka? 1:05:35 " Did God command you to do this? 1:05:38 Abraham replied, "Naam.""Allahu amar."" 1:05:42 The Lord has commanded me." His wife 1:05:44 smiled. "If that is the case, He will 1:05:48 not forsake us." Abraham left, and Lady 1:05:53 Hajar stayed in that place, waiting for 1:05:56 God's decree. When she ran out of 1:06:00 supplies, what did she do? Note this, 1:06:02 Mrs. Nur, she performed*Sa'i*between 1:06:04 Safa and Marwa. *Sa'i*in Arabic, from 1:06:08 the verb*sa'a yas'a*, means to strive 1:06:11 or to make an effort. *As'a*means I 1:06:15 strive. The Indonesian word*usaha*( 1:06:17 effort) is actually derived from the 1:06:19 word*sa'a*. But because it is difficult 1:06:21 to pronounce the 'ayn, it was changed 1:06:23 to' h '. 1:06:24 Like the word*iklan*(advertisement). In 1:06:25 Arabic, it is*i'lan*. *I'lan*. 1:06:27 It changed to*iklan*. *Iklan*. *Ta'lim* 1:06:30 . The' ayn is changed to*taklim*or* 1:06:33 ta'lim*? Yes. 1:06:34 Yes. 1:06:35 So, Mrs. Nur, Lady Hajar's*Sa'i*was her 1:06:38 effort. She climbed Mount Safa, looking 1:06:41 here and there, hoping for something 1:06:43 that could help her while praising and 1:06:46 remembering God, then moved toward 1:06:48 Marwa. Seven times she exerted effort 1:06:54 to find something that could sustain 1:06:56 her life. Finished and exhausted with 1:06:59 her child. She stayed at the place 1:07:02 called what? The one now known as the 1:07:08 Zamzam well; at that place, she prayed 1:07:12 to God Almighty and surrendered herself 1:07:16 . She had fulfilled her duty to strive 1:07:20 and placed her hope for sustenance in 1:07:23 God Almighty. Gabriel descended 1:07:26 bringing glad tidings, and at that 1:07:29 moment, God caused the Zamzam well to 1:07:32 spring forth, which attracted birds, as 1:07:35 well as passing caravans drawn to the 1:07:38 place by the call of the water. Finally 1:07:42 , they settled there, and there Lady 1:07:45 Hajar built her community, which in 1:07:49 later times gave birth to the noblest 1:07:52 prophet, our Prophet Muhammad, peace be 1:07:55 upon him, who truly grew up under 1:07:58 Allah's guidance. The same thing was 1:08:03 experienced by Moses when he left Egypt 1:08:05 for Midian. When he was grieving and 1:08:07 sorrowful, he said, "Rabbi, inni lima 1:08:10 anzalta ilayya min khairin faqir.""My 1:08:12 Lord, I am truly in need of whatever 1:08:14 good You might send down to me." Not 1:08:17 only did he receive sustenance, but he 1:08:19 also found a wife. Right? So, Mrs. Nur, 1:08:23 I am someone who had no position, no 1:08:26 job, nothing at all. I rely fully on 1:08:30 Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. If I need 1:08:34 something, I pray, 1:08:36 or I perform prayer. 1:08:38 While truly surrendering myself, my 1:08:40 hope is placed solely in Allah 1:08:42 Subhanahu wa ta'ala. I also come from a 1:08:47 background of having nothing. We once 1:08:49 rented a place by the river with great 1:08:52 difficulty. But for us, at that time, 1:08:55 it was a happy experience. We built our 1:08:58 household in truly minimal conditions 1:09:01 and we relied only on Allah. Because I 1:09:04 believe that hoping in humans only 1:09:06 brings humiliation and causes Allah to 1:09:08 turn His face away from us. So even if 1:09:12 gas is scarce or jobs are hard to find, 1:09:14 I think compared to the city of Mecca 1:09:17 when Lady Hajar stayed there, the 1:09:19 conditions in Mecca were much more 1:09:22 minimal. Here, thank God, rain still 1:09:25 falls, there is vegetation, and there 1:09:28 are opportunities. Try to remove the 1:09:32 veils from your heart, and then turn 1:09:34 your heart toward Allah Subhanahu wa 1:09:37 ta'ala who will listen to you, your 1:09:39 prayers, your laments, and your cries; 1:09:42 Allah will surely grant your requests. 1:09:45 The important thing is to remove the 1:09:47 veils between you and Allah. Because 1:09:50 between us and Allah, there is no 1:09:52 medium, there is no veil. But it is a 1:09:54 pity that we are the ones who build 1:09:56 those veils, which make us feel that 1:09:58 Allah is far from us. Whereas Allah is 1:10:01 so close, even always with us wherever 1:10:03 we are. So, Madam, through the prayer 1:10:07 that Allah has gifted us, we can 1:10:10 communicate at any time. Not only 1:10:14 during the five daily prayers when 1:10:15 Allah invites us, but even outside of 1:10:17 those five times. The same applies 1:10:19 through prayer outside of the 1:10:20 obligatory prayers. What else makes you 1:10:23 anxious? If people can be with the 1:10:26 president, say a minister, a governor, 1:10:29 a mayor, or with the Commander of the 1:10:31 Military and the National Police Chief, 1:10:35 they feel safe and comfortable, or 1:10:37 perhaps with the oligarchs. They feel 1:10:38 as if their lives are secure. Know that 1:10:41 in reality, they are not in a secure 1:10:43 state. When disaster strikes, no one 1:10:46 has the power to help them. But if you 1:10:48 are with Allah, Allah is all-powerful. 1:10:52 Allah is with you at every moment. 1:10:54 Meanwhile, the people you hope in are 1:10:56 never truly with you. At most, you only 1:11:00 speak from a distance. But as for Allah 1:11:02 , He is with you at every moment; "wa 1:11:04 huwa ma'akum ainama kuntum," He is with 1:11:07 you wherever you are. He is even closer 1:11:10 to us than our own heartbeat. What else 1:11:13 is there to fear, what else to be 1:11:14 anxious about? Therefore, waalaka ibadi 1:11:18 qibukumuni asajib lakum at any time 1:11:23 without any time limit. Well, to answer 1:11:28 our brother, for our Ramadan 1:11:31 preparation, let us prepare ourselves 1:11:34 by reciting istighfar, tasbih, tahmid, 1:11:38 takbir, and tahlil. Subhanallah, 1:11:41 Alhamdulillah, La ilaha illallah, 1:11:43 Allahu Akbar. And recite salawat as 1:11:44 well. Also, from now on, let us get 1:11:47 used to what we want to do during 1:11:49 Ramadan. Starting from guarding our 1:11:52 tongues. Don't wait until Ramadan to 1:11:53 start practicing. Practice from now. 1:11:56 Guard your mouth, eyes, ears, wake up 1:11:59 at night, and watch what food enters 1:12:02 our stomachs. God willing, by guarding 1:12:07 our limbs from what Allah Subhanahu wa 1:12:09 ta'ala has forbidden, waking up at 1:12:11 night, and familiarizing ourselves with 1:12:13 these habits, when Ramadan arrives, 1:12:15 what we practiced before will become 1:12:18 our habit. And hopefully, Allah allows 1:12:22 us to reach Ramadan, helping us to 1:12:25 perform fasting, qiyam, recite the 1:12:28 Quran, and reflect on its meaning. May 1:12:32 Allah help us practice it, and may He 1:12:35 help and strengthen us to convey it to 1:12:37 our brothers and sisters. May Allah 1:12:42 improve our government, may He give 1:12:44 guidance to the president, to his 1:12:48 ministers, and to the representatives 1:12:50 of the people. This is an opportunity 1:12:53 for them to repent, to become heroes. 1:12:56 If not, I fear the punishment that will 1:12:59 descend at that time, when regret will 1:13:02 be of no use. So, hopefully, this is a 1:13:04 noble opportunity for us all. For the 1:13:08 officials of our country, and for the 1:13:10 scholars too, I hope you can remind one 1:13:13 another, not flatter or praise each 1:13:16 other, or support those who do harm; 1:13:19 but rather provide warnings and good 1:13:22 advice to the leaders above, including 1:13:25 to all our brothers and sisters. 1:13:28 Hopefully, our meeting today with Mas 1:13:31 Angga, Algi, Ondi, Gustavo here, and 1:13:34 also the other brothers, Mr. Ihsan, and 1:13:37 Mr. Farid. 1:13:39 To the entire family of Radio TV 1:13:41 Silaturahmi, may Allah bestow His mercy 1:13:44 and forgiveness upon us all. 1:13:46 Include us among those who truly 1:13:50 always struggle in His path. Whether 1:13:53 with our wealth, our souls, or 1:13:55 everything Allah has given us. May 1:13:58 Allah forgive our sins, end our lives 1:14:00 in a state of husnul khatimah, and may 1:14:02 we be resurrected and gathered with our 1:14:04 Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi 1:14:06 wasallam. Subhanakallahumma wabihamdik 1:14:09 ashadu alla ilaha illa anta astagfiruka 1:14:12 wa atubu ilaik walu minkum. 1:14:14 Wasalamualaikum warahmatullah 1:14:16 wabarakatuh. Brothers and sisters who 1:14:19 are blessed by Allah subhanahu wa taala 1:14:20 . Thus concludes the reflection program 1:14:23 under the shade of the Quran, a 1:14:25 question and answer session with our 1:14:27 teacher, Ustaz Husein Alatas. We 1:14:30 apologize to the listeners whose 1:14:31 questions could not be answered. We 1:14:35 greet Ibu Rita who asked a question 1:14:37 earlier, also Pak Mas Udam, and Pak 1:14:40 Saani. As well as Pak Asalam here in 1:14:47 Kuta. There is also Pak Asep and other 1:14:50 listeners. We apologize that we could 1:14:52 not answer your questions. Thank you 1:14:54 for your company. We take our leave. 1:14:56 Billahi taufik wal hidayah. 1:14:57 Subhanakallahumma wabihamdika ashadu 1:14:59 alla ilaha illa anta astagfiruka wa 1:15:01 atubu ilaik. Asalamualaikum 1:15:02 warahmatullahi wabarakatuh. 1:15:04 Waalaikumsalam.
