And what we will discuss 4:40 and share together, God willing, can 4:43 truly become a righteous deed worth 4:46 taking home to our true homeland, which 4:49 is the afterlife. Let us always offer 4:54 prayers and greetings to our master, 4:56 Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi 4:58 wasallam. Allahumma shi wasallim 5:01 wabarik alaihi waa alihi wasbihi ajmain 5:03 . May we remain steadfast in learning. 5:08 Continuing to practice, preach, and 5:10 uphold the values that he, sallallahu 5:12 alaihi wasallam, left behind for our 5:14 lives in this world. 5:16 Amin. 5:17 Ladies and gentlemen, may you be 5:19 blessed by Allah, my brothers and 5:21 sisters, I will display on the Rasil TV 5:24 screen four stories in the Qur'an 5:26 related to the month of Dhu al-Hijjah. 5:29 Why is this important? I will start 5:31 like this, ladies and gentlemen. We all 5:33 know the country of South Korea, right? 5:36 South Korea is one of the few countries 5:40 with very rapid economic growth in the 5:43 world. One of the few, yes. So, very 5:47 few countries have such rapid economic 5:50 growth, and one of them is South Korea. 5:55 In fact, if we notice now, everywhere 5:58 is South Korea, starting from their 6:01 culinary arts, then their Korean dramas 6:04 , and their music, concerts, and all 6:07 sorts of things. Likewise, their 6:13 technology, their automotive industry, 6:16 and so on. However, what may have been 6:21 overlooked is that everything happening 6:24 , the goodness happening to South Korea 6:27 , meaning the economic growth and 6:29 prosperity now enjoyed by South Korea, 6:32 actually owes a debt to the Qur'an, 6:35 owes a debt to one verse of the Qur'an. 6:40 And this is where it is important for 6:42 us to learn, so that we realize why 6:44 non-Muslim people and non-Muslim 6:46 countries can get the benefits of the 6:49 Qur'an. This means even if the benefit 6:53 is in the sense of worldly matters only 6:56 , they get worldly prosperity. As long 7:01 as it does not return to Islam as the 7:04 sharia, then of course it has no value 7:06 for the hereafter, no value for the 7:08 afterlife. But at the very least, there 7:12 is an extraordinary increase in 7:14 prosperity, and it is all related to 7:17 the Qur'an. How can that be? We will 7:20 reveal it later. So, it should have 7:22 been us who possessed all of that. 7:25 Because the Prophet sallallahu alaihi 7:27 wasallam said—let me first display 7:28 the words of the Prophet sallallahu 7:30 alaihi wasallam in Sahih An-Nasa'i, 7:31 hadith number 2831. Likewise in Sunan 7:36 at-Tirmidhi, hadith number 810, and in 7:39 Sunan Imam Ahmad, hadith number 387 in 7:42 the first book. The words of the 7:45 Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam, 7:47 narrated by Abdullah Ibn Mas'ud 7:49 radhiallahu anhu, are "tabiu bainal 7:52 wal umrah." Yes, perform Hajj and 7:55 Umrah. So, Hajj and Umrah during the 8:00 month of Dhul-Hijjah are not just 8:04 events, not just fleeting occurrences 8:08 where the euphoria is briefly felt and 8:12 then it's over. There are standards, 8:16 there are benchmarks for them. There is 8:20 something that must be, uh, what? 8:22 Evaluated, actually. It is not just the 8:27 organization that should be evaluated, 8:29 but every person who performs Hajj and 8:31 Umrah during Dhul-Hijjah should 8:33 evaluate whether they have achieved 8:36 what the Prophet (peace be upon him) 8:38 mentioned in these hadiths. The 8:41 Prophet's words: "Tabi'u bainal 8:43 wal 'umrah." Perform Hajj and Umrah. " 8:47 Fainnahuma," because both of them " 8:49 yanfianil faqro wazzunub." Because both 8:54 , meaning Hajj and Umrah, have the 8:58 benchmark of removing poverty and sins. 9:02 Sins, yes, okay. But there is something 9:06 interesting: the Prophet's phrase about 9:08 removing poverty. Hajj and Umrah are 9:11 supposed to remove poverty. Now, "faqir 9:14 "(poverty) is a broad concept. So, dear 9:17 pilgrims, brothers and sisters, ladies 9:18 and gentlemen. It is something broad, 9:20 broader than just financial poverty. " 9:23 Miskin"(poor) is derived from the word 9:27 "maskana," meaning misery; that misery 9:30 is visible. But for a "faqir" person, 9:34 it is not obvious that they are in need 9:37 ; it cannot be seen immediately. For 9:41 example, someone might have a lot of 9:43 money, but their body is sick. They are 9:47 "faqir" in terms of health; "faqir" 9:50 means an inability or lack. So, someone 9:54 has plenty of money and is certainly 9:56 not "miskin," but they are not healthy. 9:59 That makes them "faqir." Likewise, 10:01 someone might be healthy and wealthy, 10:04 but their family life is not harmonious 10:07 . That is also "faqir"—a poverty of 10:10 household harmony, a helplessness in 10:13 that aspect. So, if you ladies and 10:15 gentlemen, brothers and sisters, open 10:17 the Quran, Surah Al-Baqarah verse 273. 10:21 In that verse 273, Allah says: "Lil 10:24 fuqarail ladhina uhsiru fi sabilillahi 10:28 la yastati'una darban fil-ardi 10:30 yahsabuhumul-jahilu aghniya'a 10:33 minatta'affuf." The best charity, says 10:38 Allah, is for the "faqir"—those who, 10:40 among other things, have no time to 10:43 pursue worldly gain because their time 10:45 is spent in the way of Allah. They are 10:48 also "faqir." So, people around them 10:54 who do not understand do not know they 10:57 are in need, and they do not ask others 10:59 for help. "La yas'alunan-nasa ilhafa." 11:03 They do not beg from people. Sometimes 11:06 we overlook this; people like the 11:09 teachers and Ustadz around us might be 11:13 "faqir" because they lack financial 11:16 resources. Because they have no time 11:19 for business or other work. So, 11:22 sometimes we pay attention to the " 11:24 miskin" but forget the "faqir." So, as 11:27 the Prophet said, returning to the 11:30 hadith, Umrah and Hajj should remove 11:34 both poverty and sins. As for the sins, 11:37 okay, we understand that, right, 11:39 concerning the sins. Yes, but how can 11:41 poverty be like that, you know? How can 11:44 it eliminate poverty, that is. Frankly 11:46 speaking, if we may evaluate, our Hajj 11:49 pilgrims are the most numerous in the 11:52 world. So, the 2024 data I'm showing on 11:56 the Rasil TV screen, 241,000 Indonesian 11:59 Hajj pilgrims in 2024 is the highest 12:02 worldwide. Likewise, if we combine Hajj 12:06 and Umrah pilgrims, this is also 2024 12:08 data, there are as many as 4,487,000 12:13 Indonesian people departing to the Holy 12:16 Land for Hajj and Umrah. It continues 12:19 to increase every year. And this number 12:21 is the highest in the whole world. The 12:24 highest number in the whole world, 12:25 ladies and gentlemen. 4,467,000 people. 12:31 Now, of course, our evaluation based on 12:33 the Prophet's hadith earlier is whether 12:36 this has really eliminated poverty? 12:41 Whereas the Prophet said, "Perform Hajj 12:43 and Umrah consecutively, for they 12:45 eliminate poverty and sins," as he said 12:48 . Frankly, we must be brave enough to 12:54 self-critique, to reflect on ourselves 12:58 so that we truly find where the 13:01 elimination of poverty should be. 13:05 Eliminating poverty like what? Like 13:08 fire removing rust. Well, that's it, 13:11 ladies and gentlemen who are blessed by 13:12 Allah. So, actually, this is a very 13:15 crucial matter for us to improve so 13:18 that it aligns with the standard 13:20 conveyed by the Prophet sallallahu 13:22 alaihi wasallam. The same applies to 13:26 our Qurbani. Qurbani is also like that, 13:28 ladies and gentlemen. Qurbani has had 13:31 its standard set by Allah. Quran Surah 13:36 Al-Hajj verse 37, right, surah 22. We 13:39 hear this sentence repeatedly; this is 13:42 the standard of Qurbani, which relates 13:45 to Dhu al-Hijjah. In the month of Dhu 13:47 al-Hijjah, some perform Hajj, some 13:48 perform Umrah, and some perform Qurbani 13:49 . The standard of Qurbani is not the 13:53 meat, not how many kilos, not how many 13:56 animals, or how many heads. It is not 13:59 that. But Allah says what reaches Him 14:03 is the piety, the conversion or 14:05 transformation of someone's piety is 14:07 what reaches Him. Yes, "Lan yanallaha 14:12 luhumuha wa la dimauha wa lakin 14:14 yanaluhu at-taqwa minkum." Allah says, 14:18 it will not reach Him, the blood of the 14:20 sacrificed animal, or the meat of the 14:22 sacrificed animal. That is not what 14:24 reaches Allah. What reaches Allah is 14:27 how pious the person performing the 14:30 sacrifice is. So, actually, we have 14:33 homework here to explain what piety is 14:36 in the context of Qurbani. What is " 14:40 eliminating poverty" in the context of 14:43 Hajj and Umrah. Now, interestingly, 14:47 ladies and gentlemen, South Korea once 14:49 experienced that Quranic miracle, 14:51 although perhaps they didn't realize it 14:53 , and we might not have realized it 14:55 either. Now, returning to South Korea 14:58 earlier. In the 1960s, they were still 15:02 a poor country. This was recorded by 15:05 CNBC, ladies and gentlemen, dear 15:07 congregation. CNBC recorded this; I am 15:11 displaying on the screen the year 1960, 15:13 the per capita income of the South 15:15 Korean people. That means the average 15:20 South Korean only had about 1.4 million 15:23 rupiah per year. Per year. If you 15:28 divide 1.4 million by 12, it's only 15:31 about 100,000 rupiah. Only 100,000, or 15:34 maybe a little bit over 100,000. That's 15:37 the average monthly income of a Korean 15:39 person. A month, yes. Back in the 60s, 15:42 Indonesia was already above 500 rupiah. 15:46 Yes. So, at that time, South Korea was 15:50 a poor country but developed rapidly, 15:54 reaching 35,000 US Dollars, or 519 15:57 million rupiah as the average annual 16:00 income for a Korean in 2021. So from 16:06 100,000, it jumped to 519 million. I 16:13 mean, sorry, from 1.4 million per year, 16:16 it jumped to 519 million per year. If 16:20 you divide that 519 million average 16:23 Korean income by 12, it's roughly 40- 16:26 something million a month. The average 16:32 Korean has about 50 million rupiah. In 16:35 our rupiah, that's the average per 16:37 month. How could that happen? They owe 16:40 it to the Quran because of an event 16:43 where their president at that time in 16:46 the 60s was named Park Chung-hee. That 16:50 president, when he visited Malaysia, 16:54 was interested in a piece of 16:58 calligraphy hanging in the office of 17:02 the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia 17:06 he was visiting, Tun Abdul Razak. He 17:12 asked his interpreter about the meaning 17:16 of the writing on the wall in Tun Abdul 17:19 Razak's office, that calligraphy. Then 17:23 it was explained by the interpreter 17:27 that the sentence was from our holy 17:30 book, Surah Ar-Ra'd, the 13th chapter. 17:34 It's a piece of verse 11. The middle 17:38 part of the verse contains the sentence 17:41 "innallaha la yughayyiru ma biqawmin 17:44 hatta yughayyiru ma bi-anfusihim," 17:46 which the interpreter explained means, 17:49 more or less, that God will not change 17:52 the fate of a person or a nation until 17:54 they change themselves. This passage, 17:59 sir, is a part of Surah Ar-Ra'd. Surah 18:02 Ar-Ra'd, the 13th chapter, verse 11. 18:05 Apparently, this verse, these words, 18:07 left a deep impression on Park 18:10 Chung-hee. So, as soon as he returned 18:12 to Korea, to his country, he 18:14 implemented a program that is very 18:16 famous in the economic world. The name 18:19 of the program is Saemaul Undong. 18:21 Saemaul Undong was a program for the 18:24 community to learn how to manage state 18:26 finances wisely. So, state funds were 18:29 given to the community and they were 18:31 told to build national strategic 18:33 projects. Not given to companies, you 18:37 see. The name of the program is Saemaul 18:40 Undong. So, state money, including 18:43 foreign loans, was given to the 18:45 community. "Here, you are given this 18:48 much money, and by next year or in two 18:51 years, you must build roads covering 18:54 several tens of kilometers." Something 18:57 like that. The same goes for other 18:59 things. "You must be able to build a 19:00 hospital.""Here is the money." So, 19:03 those big companies were not used by 19:05 Park Chung-hee. The ones utilized were 19:07 community groups so that the money 19:09 would flow or go directly to the people 19:11 . Well, naturally, the people there 19:14 were struggling, weren't they? Suddenly 19:17 being asked to build hospitals, 19:19 suddenly asked to build irrigation, 19:21 suddenly asked to build schools, 19:23 suddenly asked to build highways. How 19:27 could they? People had never learned. 19:29 All this time, there was only civil war 19:31 with North Korea. Well, that is where 19:33 Park Chung-hee campaigned with a 19:37 sentence he encountered in Tun Abdul 19:39 Razak's office in 1963. In 1970, he 19:44 launched the Saemaul Undong program, 19:47 and everywhere across South Korea, they 19:49 wrote in large letters the phrase: God 19:52 will not change the fate of Korea until 19:54 you change it yourselves. That sentence 19:59 was taken from Malaysia at the time, 20:02 when he visited there, and it is verse 20:05 11 from Surah Ar-Ra'd, a fragment of it 20:08 in his speech. So he also recited that. 20:13 It means he wanted to tell his people, 20:16 "If you currently cannot do it, if you 20:18 don't have the knowledge to build 20:20 highways, to build irrigation, the 20:23 civil engineering and so on, you have 1 20:25 year, let's learn, the money is 20:27 provided by the state." Now, there is 20:32 no reason not to learn because God will 20:34 not change the fate of Korea until you 20:36 change it yourselves. The sentence was 20:39 framed that way by Mr. Park Chung-hee, 20:42 inspired by or taken from the Quran. 20:45 And it turned out to be a success, 20:46 ladies and gentlemen. The program 20:49 succeeded from 1970 to 1979; for those 20:54 9 years, South Korea's per capita 20:59 income was never higher than it was 21:04 during those 9 years. Since 1970 until 21:09 1979, those 9 years were the highest in 21:12 Korean history. Yes, it has never been 21:16 that high again. Never, indeed. So, 21:19 South Korea's current economic 21:22 greatness rests on the 9-year Saemaul 21:25 Undong program initiated by Mr. Park 21:27 Chung-hee. Then, in 1979, he was shot 21:31 dead. And the program stopped, ladies 21:34 and gentlemen. So, those 9 years became 21:38 what economists call the fundamental 21:40 basis of South Korea's economy. And it 21:43 all rested on the Saemaul Undong 21:45 program. And the Saemaul Undong program 21:48 rested on the sentence: God will not 21:50 change the fate of Korea until you 21:52 change it yourselves. And we know that 21:54 is taken from the Quran, Surah Ar-Ra'd 21:56 verse 11. Now, that sentence was once 22:00 very famous everywhere, all over Korea, 22:03 ladies and gentlemen. So, brothers and 22:07 sisters, seeing a fragment of a Quranic 22:10 verse but successfully reaping its 22:13 benefits. How could that be? Honestly, 22:18 I feel ashamed of myself as a Muslim, 22:21 as a Muslim who is familiar with the 22:23 Quran. Memorizing the Quran from 22:27 childhood, from a young age, from 22:29 adolescence, reading the Quran 22:31 repeatedly, yet it seems we haven't 22:33 reaped the benefits. What is going on 22:36 there? Well, the answer, perhaps, for 22:40 you brothers and sisters blessed by 22:43 Allah, might be that we have viewed 22:46 these acts of worship, especially in 22:49 the month of Dhu al-Hijjah, as merely 22:51 ritual worship or just an annual event. 22:56 Slaughtering the sacrifice. That’s it 22:58 , just slaughtering the sacrifice. The 23:00 intention to share the meat with others 23:01 . And it’s finished, that’s all. 23:04 Even though it shouldn't stop there. 23:06 Performing Hajj, going to the holy land 23:09 , maybe crying on the plains of Arafah. 23:13 Remembering sins while stoning the 23:15 jamarat. Likewise, intending to no 23:17 longer do what, er, to become a good 23:20 person. But once they return home, ah, 23:23 they revert to their previous character 23:25 . Furthermore, there was embarrassing 23:29 news some time ago during, during, what 23:33 ? The performance of the Hajj 23:34 pilgrimage. Namely, at the hotel where 23:36 the Indonesian people, the Indonesian 23:39 pilgrims were staying. Suddenly, an 23:42 alarm went off, yes, on all, on all 23:45 floors of the hotel. To the point where 23:49 everyone had to get out. Many elderly 23:53 people had to rush out, stumbling, 23:55 because they thought there was actually 23:57 a fire. What was it, apparently? 24:01 Apparently, the alarm in the hotel 24:04 building was triggered. So, the alarm 24:09 went off because one room was being 24:12 used for smoking by some Indonesian 24:15 Hajj pilgrims. There was so much smoke 24:19 that the alarm mistook it for a fire. 24:25 In the end, the whole hotel was in 24:28 chaos, and what a pity for the other 24:31 pilgrims who were elderly, having just 24:34 returned from the Hajj, walking or 24:37 whatever, tired and wanting to rest. 24:43 But such an incident had to happen. It 24:46 was an embarrassing event. So, their 24:49 Hajj and perhaps their Umrah, upon 24:52 arriving back in the country, resulted 24:55 in no change in their character. Yes, 24:59 so the impact of dispelling poverty 25:02 mentioned by the Prophet peace be upon 25:05 him is not visible. Likewise, the 25:08 impact of piety that Allah Subhanahu wa 25:11 Ta'ala explains regarding those who 25:13 offer sacrifices. It is also not 25:15 visible because no significant change 25:18 occurred, except for just what? Just 25:20 the slaughtering of the sacrificial 25:22 animal. So, ladies and gentlemen, how 25:27 can we reach that change? In Surah 25:30 Ar-Ra'd, Allah says something like this 25:32 , right? Innallaha la yughayyiru ma bi 25:34 qawmin. Allah will not change the 25:36 condition of a people. That is the key. 25:38 That is Allah's key. It will not change 25:41 , the fate of a people will not change. 25:44 The fate of a family will not change. 25:48 The fate of a people will not change. 25:50 The fate of an individual will not 25:52 change. Until when? Until they change 25:54 their own souls. Hatta yughayyiru ma bi 25:58 anfusihim. Their own souls must be the 26:00 ones to change. Actually, the 26:05 opportunity for change exists in every 26:08 event that occurs every year in Islamic 26:11 Sharia. Ladies and gentlemen, brothers 26:14 and sisters. Someone asked, "How is it, 26:18 Ustaz, I find it so hard to communicate 26:20 with my child; it's difficult to talk 26:23 to them." Actually, the change will not 26:27 happen until the parents change their 26:30 own character. Their own character. We 26:34 will open that later. That's where it 26:37 should go. Because, as Allah says, this 26:39 is Allah's promise, "innallaha la 26:40 yughayyiru ma bi qawmin." Like that. 26:45 Now, Park Chung-hee, the former South 26:47 Korean president, changed the character 26:50 of South Korean society with an iron 26:53 fist. So he said this Saemaul Undong 26:56 program: God will not change the fate 26:58 of Korea until you change it yourselves 27:00 . He got that from the Quran. But the 27:04 implementation by him was, people were 27:07 told to learn; if they didn't want to 27:10 learn, some would be arrested and 27:12 jailed, some killed, and so on if they 27:15 failed; he used an iron fist. So, in 27:20 '79, he was shot dead by people who 27:23 disliked him. Now, as for us, ladies 27:26 and gentlemen, we are the owners of the 27:28 Quran. Meaning, Muslims are the owners 27:30 of the Quran. We know more than Park; 27:33 he perhaps only knew that one verse he 27:36 encountered in Malaysia when he visited 27:40 . If we know the contents of the Quran 27:43 entirely. Meaning, the Quran is 27:46 familiar to us. Then we also know that 27:49 a transformation of the soul will occur 27:54 if we truly study it. Study what? Study 28:04 the stories within the Quran. So, every 28:10 event throughout the year has its story 28:15 in the Quran. Now, so Allah says in 28:19 Surah Hud verse 120, I will display it 28:22 on the Rasil TV screen. Please, if you, 28:25 brothers and sisters, want to open it 28:27 at home, or Rasil radio listeners. 28:30 Allah's words are like this. This is 28:31 very important. Surah Hud verse 120. 28:33 This is the method. The method. The 28:36 method to change our character. Yes. So 28:39 , going on Hajj has a story that we 28:42 must learn so our character changes 28:44 like that. Performing Qurban has a 28:48 story. We should change like that, we 28:50 will open it later. Likewise with 28:53 others. For example, next year, next 28:56 month, the month of Muharram, we know 28:59 it is the month of Hijrah, right? 29:02 Usually, the Prophet's Hijrah has a 29:05 story. We study that story, for example 29:08 , Surah Al-Baqarah verse 207, the story 29:11 of Suhaib ibn Sinan's migration, may 29:14 Allah be pleased with him. That is, "Wa 29:18 min an-nasi man yashri nafsahu 29:20 ibtigha'a mardatillah""wallahu ra'ufun 29:26 bil-' ibad," the words of 207 Surah 29:29 Al-Baqarah, its asbabun nuzul concerns 29:32 Suhaib ibn Sinan, who was the last to 29:35 migrate. He let go of all his wealth 29:40 just to be able to migrate to the 29:42 Messenger of Allah in Medina. Likewise 29:46 with Isra and Mi'raj. Ah, of course, 29:48 there is a story behind it. Some 29:51 narrations state that the last two 29:53 verses of Surah Al-Baqarah were verses 29:56 received by the Prophet, may God bless 29:59 him and grant him peace, given to the 30:02 Prophet during the event of the 30:05 Ascension, and so on with those other 30:07 stories. Likewise with the month of 30:11 Ramadan, there are so many stories 30:13 about it. Why did God call it the month 30:16 of the Quran, "the month of Ramadan in 30:18 which the Quran was revealed"? Even 30:21 though the Quran had been revealed from 30:23 the very beginning, the command for 30:24 Ramadan only occurred in the second 30:26 year of the Prophet’s Hijra. Yes, it 30:29 seems it coincided almost at the same 30:31 time as the command to change the Qibla 30:33 towards Makkah, which was previously 30:36 towards Baitul Maqdis. What happened 30:38 there? Well, exactly. So, everything 30:41 has a story in the Quran. Not to 30:44 mention the stories of the other 30:45 prophets that are related to all of 30:49 that. Now, ladies and gentlemen who are 30:52 blessed by God, in this verse God says, 30:54 "And we relate to you the stories of 30:55 the messengers." And we recount all 31:00 those stories of the messengers to all 31:02 of you. Even though the address was 31:05 initially to the Prophet, "to you." But 31:08 to all of us who have received this 31:10 inheritance of the Quran, for what 31:13 purpose are these stories told in the 31:15 Quran? Stories take up the largest 31:19 portion of the Quran; approximately 70% 31:22 of the Quran consists of recurring 31:24 stories. So, what is the purpose? So 31:28 that, God says, "We may make firm your 31:31 heart." So that with those stories, We 31:37 strengthen, We solidify your heart, 31:40 your understanding, We strengthen your 31:44 character, and We solidify you through 31:48 those stories. And then, what is the 31:54 next sentence? "And there has come to 31:56 you in this, the truth." And We have 31:58 brought in that story the truth and an 32:00 admonition. Likewise, an admonition or 32:03 a lesson, and a reminder for the 32:06 believers. And likewise, all of this is 32:09 a reminder for those who believe. So, 32:13 it is through those stories that we can 32:15 transform our souls. Thus, Dhu 32:19 al-Hijjah and other months throughout 32:21 the year all have their stories. We 32:26 learn from them when we go for Hajj. 32:28 Our bodies go for Hajj. But there, we 32:31 learn from the stories related to the 32:34 place and the time of the Hajj. So that 32:37 we return carrying a changed character. 32:40 Yes, where is the lesson? It is in the 32:44 Plain of Arafah, when Prophet Adam, Eve 32:47 , and also, what? Iblis. were expelled 32:51 from paradise, these three beings. But 32:54 then God treated the three of them 32:57 differently. To Iblis, God cursed him 33:00 forever, but to Adam and Eve, God 33:02 forgave and blessed them. Why? There is 33:05 a story behind it. Where did Prophet 33:08 Adam and Eve meet? In the Plain of 33:10 Arafah. So, Wukuf (staying) in Arafah 33:14 is mandatory for all Hajj pilgrims. It 33:16 is mandatory for everyone; it cannot be 33:19 replaced. You cannot pay a fine or 33:22 offer an atonement for it. One must 33:25 perform Wukuf in Arafah; Hajj is Arafah 33:27 . So, what should we bring home from 33:29 there? The story of the meeting between 33:33 Prophet Adam and Eve shows us that we 33:35 should learn from them. So, shift your 33:38 paradigm; don't be like Iblis, but be 33:41 like Adam and Eve. Yes, that is what we 33:43 should take home with us. Likewise, the 33:46 story of sacrifice that we will perhaps 33:48 discuss. Further into the story of 33:52 sacrifice. The first sacrifices in this 33:55 world were by two of Prophet Adam's 33:58 sons, namely Abel and Cain. Ladies and 34:00 gentlemen, may you be blessed by Allah. 34:03 In this story, Allah teaches us what 34:06 the standard of piety is for those who 34:08 offer sacrifices. So, what is that 34:12 standard of piety like? As mentioned 34:15 earlier, it is only the piety that 34:16 reaches Allah, right? So, what is that 34:18 piety like? If we don't open the text, 34:23 we wouldn't know that there is such a 34:25 standard that should be met. We will 34:29 open this later. Let me continue first. 34:31 The third story is the story of Prophet 34:34 Ibrahim. And we have often heard about 34:37 Prophet Ibrahim and his family, namely 34:39 his son Ismail and his wife Hajar. Yes, 34:44 but perhaps the discussion has not been 34:46 complete or thorough. Because the story 34:52 of Ibrahim and Ismail is actually a 34:55 story about family life. Because it 35:00 contains the phrases in Surah As-Saffat 35:03 verse 102, the words "O my son" and "O 35:05 my father." Prophet Ismail called out 35:09 to Prophet Ibrahim, his father. "O my 35:11 son," said Prophet Ibrahim to Prophet 35:14 Ismail. And then, "O my father," said 35:16 Prophet Ismail, like that. So the story 35:19 is about how to be a parent and how to 35:21 be a child. Like that. Of course, there 35:26 are many other stories regarding 35:28 Prophet Ibrahim and his family. That is 35:31 why it is comprehensive and thorough, 35:35 actually. So from there, we should be 35:38 able to adopt the character, brothers 35:41 and sisters. Now, the fourth story is 35:43 the story of the Prophet Muhammad, 35:45 peace be upon him. When he hoped to 35:49 have a son, and then his son passed 35:52 away. Allah commanded him to "pray to 35:58 your Lord and sacrifice," meaning to 36:01 offer a sacrifice, for your enemy is 36:04 the one cut off. Behind this story, 36:09 there is an extraordinary lesson that 36:11 we should all grasp. Now, from these 36:16 four stories, there is certainly not 36:18 enough time to discuss them all. Maybe 36:21 we should focus first on the story of 36:24 the sacrifice, namely the two sons of 36:27 Adam, Abel and Cain. It is found in 36:31 Surah Al-Ma'idah, the fifth surah, 36:34 verse 27. Ladies and gentlemen, so 36:40 Allah says this, before we go to Surah 36:42 Al-Ma'idah, let us briefly repeat verse 36:45 37 of Surah Al-Hajj earlier. Their meat 36:48 will not reach Allah, nor will their 36:50 blood, but what reaches Him is your 36:52 piety. It will not reach Allah—the 36:55 meat of the sacrificial animal, the 36:57 blood of the sacrificial animal. It 36:59 does not reach Him, but what reaches 37:01 Him is your piety. Yes, your piety. So, 37:05 the key is taqwa, right? Well, taqwa is 37:09 also conveyed by Allah when Abel and 37:11 Cain, these two people, offered a 37:13 sacrifice. One was accepted, the other 37:16 was not. Of course, the one that was 37:18 accepted was the one with taqwa. But 37:19 later there will be an explanation of 37:21 what that taqwa looks like. Yes, let us 37:23 read it first. Read, tell, and explain 37:30 to the people the story of the two sons 37:34 of Adam truthfully. They offered a 37:41 sacrifice. When they both offered a 37:45 sacrifice, Allah accepted it from one. 37:51 Yes, in the historical accounts, it is 37:53 mentioned that the one accepted was 37:54 Abel. Accepted from Abel, but not 37:57 accepted from the other, which is Cain; 38:01 it wasn't accepted, and this rejection 38:05 showed his true nature in offering the 38:09 sacrifice. And this is why he was not 38:12 accepted. He said, "Qola laaktulannak." 38:17 I will kill you. Why did he say, "I 38:20 will kill you"? He said, "I will kill 38:23 you" because, in this story, Cain— 38:26 whose sacrifice was not accepted—the 38:30 sacrifice he gave to Allah was not pure 38:33 , but he had an ulterior motive. There 38:37 was a hidden agenda. He wanted to marry 38:41 a certain woman. He offered the 38:44 sacrifice so that he could marry the 38:47 one he wanted. When it was not accepted 38:51 by Allah, he became very angry at the 38:53 one whose sacrifice was accepted. So, 38:57 the direct lesson is that when we offer 39:00 a sacrifice, we shouldn't be like Cain. 39:03 Not being like Cain means we must 39:06 purify our sacrifice. There should be 39:10 no strings attached to our desires. For 39:12 example, if someone is offering a 39:15 sacrifice, "Oh, I'll just offer my 39:18 sacrifice in that area, Ustaz." For 39:21 instance, in area A, like that. Oh, you 39:24 may, sir. Area A is good. Why do you 39:26 want to offer your sacrifice there? 39:30 Well, consider it something, you know. 39:34 Consider it an investment, Ustaz. I 39:37 mean, I have plans for the upcoming 39:40 election. I will be a legislative 39:43 candidate in that area. So, starting 39:46 from now, I will offer my sacrifice 39:49 there so that people will recognize me. 39:52 Now, that is a hidden agenda, isn't it? 39:56 If you want to do that, do it some 39:57 other time or in another way. If you 39:59 want to be recognized, just do it in 40:01 another way. So, purify the sacrifice 40:03 only for Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. 40:06 Like the one that was accepted, the son 40:08 of Adam who was accepted, Abel. He was 40:10 purely focused on Allah alone. Yes. 40:12 Therefore, when his brother said, "I 40:15 will kill you." Yes, I will kill you. 40:18 Abel, who was accepted, said, "Qala 40:21 innama yataqobbalullahu minal muttaqin. 40:23 " Abel said, "It is only accepted from 40:26 those who have taqwa." So, like that. 40:30 So, we must be careful when offering a 40:32 sacrifice; if asked from a fiqh 40:34 perspective, the answer is certainly 40:35 that it could be valid. For example, if 40:38 asked, "Is it allowed, Ustaz, for me to 40:41 sacrifice in an area where I plan to 40:44 run as a candidate?" Perhaps if asked 40:47 from a jurisprudential perspective, it 40:48 is fine, there is no problem. But if 40:52 asked regarding the essence of piety, 40:54 because Allah says it is not just the 40:56 meat of the sacrifice that reaches Him. 40:59 "Lan yanala allaha luhumuha wa la 41:01 dima'uha." Yes, so what actually 41:03 reaches Him? The piety. And that piety 41:05 is like Abel's, not Cain's. Cain had a 41:09 certain stench, you see. His way of 41:11 sacrificing had a certain stench to it. 41:13 Then the next sentence in verse 28, 41:16 right. This is verse 27, brothers. 41:19 Surah Al-Ma'idah verse 27, which I am 41:21 showing on the screen right now. Now, 41:24 in verse 28, after Abel explained and 41:27 said to his brother, "Innama 41:29 yataqabbalullahu minal-muttaqin." What 41:32 is accepted by Allah is only from the 41:34 pious. Then Abel demonstrated what that 41:38 piety actually meant in the context of 41:41 this sacrifice. That is why we should 41:46 refer to this story to assess whether 41:50 our sacrifice has truly been accepted 41:53 according to Allah's guidance or not. 41:59 Abel said this to his brother who 42:02 wanted to kill him. He said this, " 42:09 La'in basatta ilayya yadaka li 42:13 taqtulani...""O my brother, if you use 42:20 your hand to kill me as you have 42:24 threatened, then know that I will not 42:30 use my hand." Meaning, I have a hand 42:35 just like you do. Actually, I could 42:38 easily retaliate against your actions. 42:42 I could easily repay the injustice you 42:43 have done to me. But I will not do that 42:48 , not because I am incapable, not 42:50 because I am not angry, not because I 42:53 am not sad, and not because I am not 42:55 disappointed, but the reason is "inni 42:58 akhafullaha rabbil- 'alamin." I will 43:02 not do that because I fear Allah, the 43:05 Lord of the worlds. That is it. That is 43:11 the piety meant in the context of this 43:13 sacrifice. So, someone who sacrifices 43:17 correctly, whose piety reaches Allah, 43:19 is like Abel. He will change. His 43:27 perspective toward his brothers will 43:29 change. Yes. Before the sacrifice, 43:33 perhaps his perspective is like this. 43:37 He says, "If you are kind to me and 43:41 respect me, I will respect you.""But if 43:47 you do not respect me, do not expect me 43:49 to respect you." That is before the 43:53 sacrifice; it should be that after the 43:55 sacrifice, after slaughtering the 43:57 animal, those words change. So like 44:00 what? Something like this. "If you 44:03 respect me and are kind to me, then of 44:06 course I will be kind to you and 44:09 respect you.""But if you do not respect 44:14 me, are not kind to me, or treat me 44:17 unjustly, then that is your own 44:19 business with Allah.""I will not repay 44:25 your bad deeds, and I will not treat 44:29 you unjustly.""Not because I am 44:33 incapable.""Not because I am incapable, 44:37 but because I fear Allah.""Inni 44:39 akhafullaha rabbil-' alamin.""Therefore 44:41 , I will still be kind to you even if 44:44 you are not kind to me." Now, that 44:47 should be the benchmark for our 44:49 sacrifice, sir. Ladies and gentlemen, 44:51 may Allah have mercy on you. To the 44:53 congregation, brothers and sisters 44:54 wherever you are, that is the benchmark 44:56 . Do not let us sacrifice for years, 45:00 but we also haven't spoken to our own 45:03 siblings for years because of some 45:06 issue, hurt feelings, anger, and so on. 45:10 That must not happen. Why? Because the 45:14 standard of piety mentioned was "inni 45:16 akhafullahabbal alamin." I fear Allah. 45:19 I will not retaliate for what you have 45:21 done to me. That is between you and 45:23 Allah. But I will continue to do good. 45:29 That is the character shift from Cain 45:31 to Abel that should happen when we 45:34 sacrifice. Only then comes piety. This 45:39 is a verse that Allah presents to us. 45:42 Surah Al-Ma'idah, starting from verse 45:45 27, the story of Adam's sons, then 28, 45:48 is about how Abel's piety—the one 45:51 whose sacrifice was accepted—is 45:54 actually an example for us. So Allah 45:59 says in Surah Hud verse 120, these 46:01 stories are meant to strengthen us so 46:04 that our minds are clear. So that our 46:09 character is solid, our character is 46:12 firm. We know what must be done, we 46:15 know how we should change our character 46:18 . Because the story is very clear. The 46:22 story is very clear. It is to the point 46:24 and the story is clear. So, for those 46:28 of us who sacrifice, ladies and 46:30 gentlemen whom Allah has blessed, we 46:32 still have the opportunity to fix this. 46:36 We can fix this, especially during this 46:38 month of Dhu al-Hijjah. So, when we 46:41 shed the blood of the sacrificial 46:44 animal, it actually means we must 46:50 emulate Abel by letting go of the 46:52 grudge and anger stored within us, 46:55 especially towards our relatives, our 46:58 siblings, and our fellow Muslims; it 47:01 must be released. And when we let go 47:06 like Abel, we are actually allowing the 47:09 blood in our own bodies to flow well, 47:12 too. Now, there is a study I am showing 47:17 on the screen. A study published in a 47:22 journal by an institution called the 47:25 National Institute of Health in America 47:28 , under the American Department of 47:30 Health. This research or experiment 47:36 examines people who harbor grudges. Yes 47:40 , so the sentence is "recurring feeling 47:42 of anger," as shown on the screen. "May 47:46 increase a person's risk of developing 47:49 heart disease," recurring feeling of 47:51 anger. A recurring feeling of anger. 47:55 Yes, recurring because it is constantly 47:57 stored and never ends. Yes, a grudge. A 48:01 recurring feeling of anger increases a 48:04 person's risk of a heart attack. How 48:08 can that be? Because "limiting the 48:11 blood vessel's ability to open," since 48:14 anger reduces the heart vessels ' 48:17 ability to dilate. Yes, so the heart 48:22 vessels will constrict when someone is 48:25 angry. Anger, well, this research was 48:32 actually conducted by, uh, several 48:35 psychologists and doctors, including 48:38 someone named Lori Friedman Donze, PhD, 48:41 in America. So, they even researched 48:46 that if someone gets angry, that anger 48:49 impacts their heart, and their heart 48:52 will remain unable to open, or the 48:55 heart vessels will constrict, for 40 48:58 minutes. Yes, so here is the phrasing: 49:04 *vessel impairment because of anger*, 49:07 meaning, because of that anger, the 49:10 inability of the blood vessels to open* 49:13 was sustained up to 40 minutes*, yes, 49:16 lasting for the next 40 minutes*after 49:19 the initial recall event that triggered 49:22 the anger*, yes, it persists for 40 49:25 minutes after someone gets angry. So if 49:30 someone says, "Ustad, when I get angry, 49:32 it's quick, it's over in 5 minutes." No 49:35 , it is not like that. It doesn't work 49:38 that way. Our feelings might say so, 49:41 but our heart does not. For the next 40 49:44 minutes, it still cannot open properly. 49:48 So, that is why this research states 49:50 that atherosclerosis or the narrowing 49:53 of blood vessels in the heart occurs 49:55 not only because the endothelial cells 49:57 or the cells that pump the heart are 50:00 reduced. Not only that, but because of 50:03 the occurrence of anger within a person 50:08 . So, Allah says, the blood of the 50:11 sacrificial animal is a symbol; by 50:14 shedding the blood of the sacrificial 50:17 animal, Actually, if we take Abel as an 50:20 example, our sacrifice is symbolized by 50:23 the sacrificial animal that is 50:25 slaughtered, but the character is like 50:28 Abel. Piety. Piety like Abel earlier, 50:32 the so-called*taqabbalallahu minna wa 50:33 minkum*, which is letting go of grudges 50:36 and anger, that is, actually, we are 50:42 also making the blood in our body flow 50:45 smoothly. The blood in our body, uh, 50:49 reduces the constriction of our blood 50:52 vessels and even becomes healthy, yes, 50:54 we become well. So, actually, the one 50:58 who gets the benefit, the one who gains 51:01 from the incident of Abel and Cain, is 51:03 of course Abel, who was sincere for the 51:06 sake of Allah and then he was pious. 51:10 His piety was shown when he said to his 51:12 brother, "O my brother, or my sibling, 51:15 if you want to kill me with your hand, 51:17 I also have a hand, but I will not 51:19 retaliate like that because I fear 51:21 Allah." Like that. So, so that is 51:26 actually the true piety. And in this 51:30 context, in this context, piety. Piety 51:33 in sacrifice, the context is like Abel, 51:35 ladies and gentlemen. Now, in Indonesia 51:39 , we have many people who perform 51:42 sacrifices. In the 2024 data records, 51:46 there are 2.16 or 2.16 million 51:52 households that performed the sacrifice 51:54 . And the value of the sacrifice 51:57 reaches 28 trillion in money 51:59 circulation. Yes, likewise, the meat, 52:05 there are 117,000 tons circulating. Now 52:12 , if all those offering sacrifices 52:15 could reach the level of piety, not 52:18 just the meat, but reach piety just as 52:22 Abel did. That is, one of the 52:25 indicators is letting go of grudges and 52:28 anger. Ah, imagine how blessed their 52:31 lives would be. God says, "Indeed, 52:34 Allah will not change the condition of 52:35 a people." That was Surah Hud earlier. 52:41 Oh, excuse me, Surah Ar-Ra'd, chapter 52:43 13, verse 11. So it is not just the 52:47 sacrificial animal, not just the 52:49 slaughtering, but it must lead to a 52:52 change in our nafs, our souls, our 52:55 character. Only then will blessings 52:59 come to us, ladies and gentlemen, 53:01 brothers and sisters. So, that is 53:06 roughly one story of the four stories 53:08 that are actually related to this month 53:11 of Dhul-Hijjah. It's just that maybe we 53:14 don't have enough time to discuss them 53:16 all. At the very least, the story of 53:20 how Abel and Cain were the first to 53:23 offer sacrifices in this world. Then, 53:27 one was accepted, and the other was not 53:29 . Hopefully, we can truly internalize 53:33 this and make it our benchmark. We make 53:37 it our guide. These stories in the 53:39 Quran serve as a guide. "And make firm 53:42 thereby your heart." With which Allah 53:45 wants to strengthen, to solidify our 53:48 character, our souls, Allah solidifies 53:52 them there. So, perhaps this is just 53:56 one story, only one story that we can 53:58 discuss. Please, I return it to Kang 54:01 Fauzi in the studio. Billahi taufiq wal 54:03 hidayah. Wasalamu'alaikum 54:04 warahmatullahi 54:05 wabarakatuh. Alhamdulillah, Ustadz. 54:08 Jazakumullah khairan. So that’s only 54:10 one story, Ustadz? There are still 54:11 three more stories, Ustadz. MasyaAllah. 54:13 That is correct. 54:13 Alright, brothers and sisters. One 54:16 story has been explained by Ustadz Doni 54:19 out of the four, and the first story 54:21 was about the sacrifice. Now, we have 54:26 entered session two. We will have a Q&A 54:29 session to discuss with the brothers 54:32 and sisters. Please convey your 54:33 questions. The first question is from 54:37 Mr. Agus. Ustadz, peace be upon you, 54:39 and Allah's mercy and blessings, Ustadz 54:40 . 54:40 And peace be upon you, and Allah's 54:41 mercy and blessings. Please go ahead. 54:43 Ustadz Doni, in my opinion, the best 54:45 lessons from parents to children right 54:48 now are not found in Japan, Finland, or 54:52 America, but from the children in 54:54 Palestine, Ustadz. Imagine, in the 54:58 midst of Israeli bombardment, 54:59 Palestinian children continue to study 55:02 and are able to memorize the Quran. 55:04 What is your opinion on this, Ustadz? 55:07 Yes. Alright, that is very true. Thank 55:10 you, Mr. Agus, for asking. That is very 55:12 true. The world is actually witnessing 55:15 it right now. That is why many people 55:18 are converting to Islam, especially in 55:21 the Western world, because they witness 55:24 how amazing the Palestinian people are. 55:29 They possess a certain happiness that 55:32 is unknown to those who only look at 55:35 things materialistically or worldly. Uh 55:41 , I personally have had direct 55:43 experience in Australia, in Melbourne; 55:46 there, many mosques—not just many, it 55:49 was said that every day people were 55:52 converting to Islam, and the reason for 55:55 their conversion was seeing the 55:58 Palestinian people. Uh, the people who, 56:02 uh, if we observe those who converted 56:04 to Islam, they were people who 56:06 previously had no interest in Islam, 56:08 were not interested in Islam, and it 56:10 seems there would have been no interest 56:12 in Islam at all had this Palestinian 56:14 event not occurred. That is why we, uh, 56:18 say it is extraordinary that the 56:20 Palestinian people have become, uh, 56:23 martyrs. Becoming martyrs for the 56:26 spread of Islam; if we look at it from 56:29 that perspective, wow, it is truly 56:32 extraordinary. But of course, this 56:35 tyranny cannot be, uh, allowed, because 56:38 it is, in fact, a form of tyranny 56:41 against all of humanity. Yes. But in 56:44 the midst of that, God indeed provides, 56:47 uh, what? An extraordinary wisdom as 56:51 well, with many people actually 56:53 converting to Islam after witnessing 56:55 what is happening on the world stage in 56:58 such a brutal way. That is roughly it. 57:02 Hm. Alhamdulillah. Alright. That is all 57:04 , Mr. Agus, I hope that answers your 57:05 question. The second question is from a 57:07 gentleman in South Jakarta. Peace be 57:09 upon you and the mercy and blessings of 57:11 Allah, Ustaz. 57:11 And peace be upon you and the mercy and 57:12 blessings of Allah. Currently, we see 57:15 many people performing Qurbani ( 57:17 sacrifice), and it is hoped that 57:19 through this sacrifice, piety will be 57:21 born. However, despite so many people 57:24 performing the sacrifice, it turns out 57:26 that crime and immorality in this 57:27 country have not decreased, but instead 57:29 have increased. 57:30 Where does the mistake lie in this 57:32 matter? Is the sacrifice not accepted, 57:35 or are we the ones who are still far 57:37 from piety, Ustaz? Thank you. 57:39 Yes, thank you, sir. That was you who 57:42 asked, right? 57:43 Yes. 57:44 That is very true, sir. So, uh, Qurbani 57:47 , as well as our other forms of worship 57:50 , have as their ultimate goal, the goal 57:53 is a change in character. Now, that is 57:59 what we have not been discussing, what 58:02 has not been present in our, uh, 58:06 discussion spaces. If only everyone 58:10 performing Qurbani were briefed 58:12 beforehand that a change in character 58:14 should occur within us, sir, the 58:16 sacrificers like Habil earlier. Uh, 58:20 likewise for those going on Hajj or 58:21 performing Umrah. The goal is a change 58:24 in character. Not just merely, uh, 58:27 prayers and so on, it is not just that. 58:30 But the occurrence, the happening of a 58:31 change in character. Where do we learn 58:34 that from? From the story of Prophet 58:36 Adam and Eve. From the story of Prophet 58:38 Ismail, Prophet Ibrahim, and Siti Hajar 58:40 , and so on. Now, that is what Allah 58:41 said, *qashash*(stories). In Surah Hud 58:47 verse 120 earlier. So, that is what we 58:50 haven't discussed yet, that is what 58:53 hasn't happened, we haven't reached 58:55 that point yet. That is why, actually, 58:59 we have performed worship, rituals, and 59:03 Sharia, but there is still a small step 59:06 missing: how those rituals and worship 59:10 can change our character, our selves, 59:13 and our souls. So, it is very true that 59:18 the transformation has not yet occurred 59:21 , Sir, regarding the piety of the 59:23 person who asked earlier. Thus, Allah 59:26 knows best. 59:28 That is all, Mr. Anya, I hope that 59:29 answers it. Next is the third question 59:32 from Mrs. Dinda in Jatiwarna. Peace be 59:35 upon you, and Allah's mercy and 59:36 blessings, Ustaz. And peace be upon you 59:38 , and Allah's mercy and blessings. 59:39 Ustaz Doni, I would like to ask. If you 59:43 mentioned earlier that the President of 59:45 South Korea, based on the data you 59:48 showed, wanted to change the character 59:50 of their students so that 59:53 they could become as successful as they 59:56 are now in South Korea, what about the 59:59 approach applied by the Governor of 1:00:02 West Java 1:00:04 who puts delinquent children into 1:00:06 barracks, Ustaz? 1:00:07 Yes, yes, yes. Yes. So, actually, 1:00:10 indeed I am not really competent to 1:00:15 answer this, but I think it should not 1:00:18 just be about putting children who 1:00:21 might be delinquent or otherwise into 1:00:24 barracks; the best way is actually to 1:00:27 provide a pattern of Quranic education. 1:00:31 Yes, this is the story of Prophet 1:00:33 Ibrahim as a parent that we have not 1:00:35 yet discussed. Prophet Ibrahim showed 1:00:38 respect to his son with his words, "O 1:00:41 my son, indeed I have seen in a dream 1:00:43 that I [must] sacrifice you, so see 1:00:45 what you think," in Surah As-Saffat, 1:00:48 chapter 37, verse 102. So, he showed 1:00:52 respect to his child. He dreamt of 1:00:56 sacrificing his son, but he did not 1:00:58 force it by saying, "Hey, come here, 1:01:00 get ready. I dreamt of sacrificing you. 1:01:03 I am a prophet, after all. Get ready."" 1:01:06 Just obey your parents, listen to your 1:01:08 parents, don't argue with your parents. 1:01:09 " It was not like that. But Prophet 1:01:13 Ibrahim even asked for his son's 1:01:17 opinion regarding the dream that he saw 1:01:22 repeatedly. So it was as if he was 1:01:25 questioning his own dream. As if, just 1:01:27 to ask for his son's opinion. So look 1:01:31 at how he gave respect to his child. 1:01:34 Now, the mistake we parents make today 1:01:37 is that we think we have given 1:01:39 attention. But the attention meant is 1:01:44 apparently only one-sided, in one 1:01:46 direction. Meaning, the mother feels 1:01:49 she has given attention. Whereas the 1:01:52 child sees that attention as a form of 1:01:55 distrust. For example, a mother says, " 1:01:58 Ustaz, I have given my child my full 1:02:00 attention, but why are they like that?" 1:02:04 "What kind of attention do you mean, 1:02:05 Madam?""Like this, Ustaz. Wherever they 1:02:08 are, I call them. When it is time for 1:02:10 prayer,' Have you prayed yet? '' It is 1:02:12 already this time, stop doing this and 1:02:13 that, blah blah blah. '" Right, right, 1:02:14 right, right. And then, when it is time 1:02:16 for the next prayer, I call again. 1:02:17 Basically, I always pay attention to 1:02:19 him. My attention to him is that great. 1:02:23 So, when I met their child, I asked, " 1:02:26 What do you think of your parents' 1:02:29 attention, calling you and so on?" But, 1:02:33 actually, the child said it means the 1:02:37 parents don't trust me. Like that. See 1:02:43 how the child perceives that good 1:02:45 intention; it's different, it's 1:02:47 different. So, what is the right way? 1:02:51 Respect. Give respect to the child. 1:02:53 What is respect anyway? Respect is 1:02:55 seeing them as capable people, giving 1:03:00 them trust. Now, of course, with that 1:03:04 respect, it doesn't mean we don't give 1:03:07 warnings or guidance, but we still show 1:03:10 respect. Now, if these young people are 1:03:15 only given discipline without respect, 1:03:19 then of course I don't think it will 1:03:23 last long. Change might happen, but it 1:03:27 won't last. In fact, many things that 1:03:30 are somewhat negative might happen 1:03:33 later. So, actually, the best education 1:03:36 is at home. At home, yes. So, it must 1:03:40 be comprehensive; any change cannot be 1:03:44 partial, just putting them in a 1:03:46 barracks and then it's done. No, I 1:03:49 don't think that is appropriate. Yes, 1:03:52 that's roughly it. God knows best. 1:03:55 That is all, Ms. Dinda, I hope that 1:03:57 answers it. Next, the fourth question 1:04:00 from Mr. Dimas in Bogor. Ustaz, peace 1:04:03 be upon you and God's mercy and 1:04:05 blessings. 1:04:05 And peace be upon you and God's mercy 1:04:06 and blessings. Ustaz, may I ask a 1:04:08 question. If a Qurbani comes from an 1:04:10 official whom we say is not trustworthy 1:04:13 , for example, is their Qurbani 1:04:16 accepted or not, and what should that 1:04:19 official do to sacrifice so that it is 1:04:22 accepted by Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala? 1:04:25 Thank you, Ustaz. 1:04:25 Yes. Yes. So, actually, of course, if 1:04:30 it comes from money that is haram, then 1:04:33 it certainly will not be accepted by 1:04:36 Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. Because as 1:04:40 Allah said, as Habil said when he was 1:04:42 asked by his brother, he said, "Innama 1:04:45 yataqobbalullahu minal muttaqin." It is 1:04:49 only accepted from those who are pious. 1:04:52 Now, a pious person certainly wouldn't 1:04:53 consume haram wealth, would they? Yes, 1:04:56 they will only consume what is 1:04:57 rightfully theirs. If it is not their 1:04:59 right, they wouldn't consume it. So, if 1:05:01 the money itself is already haram, it 1:05:04 certainly cannot reach Allah. Because 1:05:07 what reaches Him is the piety, not the 1:05:09 meat of the sacrificial animal. Now, if 1:05:13 there is someone like that, we 1:05:15 certainly don't want to accuse those 1:05:18 officials of having haram money or 1:05:20 anything; they themselves know. So, how 1:05:24 do we, for example, at a mosque or 1:05:26 wherever, receive it? It is fine to 1:05:28 accept it. Because we should have 1:05:30 positive thinking, right? We have 1:05:32 positive thinking, we don't know if 1:05:34 it's halal or haram, that is their 1:05:36 business. But we just accept it as long 1:05:39 as it is truly intended for Qurban. Now 1:05:43 , as for where it comes from or what it 1:05:46 is, that is the responsibility of the 1:05:48 one offering the sacrifice themselves. 1:05:51 Now, that's roughly it. But if it is 1:05:53 truly from money that is illicit, then 1:05:56 certainly the character is not one of 1:05:59 piety. That is roughly how it is. 1:06:02 Well, that is it, Mr. Dima. Hopefully, 1:06:04 that answers your question. May the 1:06:05 Qurban performed by the officials be 1:06:07 accepted by Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. 1:06:10 Amin. 1:06:11 Amin. 1:06:12 Amin. Well, before we read the comments 1:06:18 from the listeners, from Mr. Sumantri. 1:06:24 Alhamdulillah, I am listening, Ustaz, 1:06:27 via radio. Thank you, Ustaz, for the 1:06:29 enlightenment. 1:06:30 Yes. Then from Mrs. Aminah in Citra 1:06:33 Indah. Alhamdulillah, I am listening, 1:06:35 Ustaz. 1:06:36 Yes, alhamdulillah. 1:06:37 Then Mrs. Ida in Bekasi. 1:06:40 Yes. 1:06:40 Assalamu'alaikum warahmatullahi 1:06:42 wabarakatuh. Alhamdulillah. Thank you, 1:06:45 Ustaz. Thank you, Rasil. Alhamdulillah, 1:06:48 listening via radio. 1:06:50 Then 1:06:52 there are still many more: Mr. Mustofa 1:06:55 Hasan, Mr. Abdillah, Mrs. Dian, Mr. 1:06:58 Rasid, and Mr. Rahmat. Alhamdulillah. 1:07:01 Thank you. Barakallahu fikum, Ustaz. 1:07:03 Yes, barakallah. 1:07:04 Then Mr. Arwin is also listening. Thank 1:07:08 you, Ustaz, for the tausiyah and your 1:07:10 advice. May the Ustaz, the preachers, 1:07:13 and the listeners of Radio Silaturahim 1:07:15 always be in good health and under the 1:07:17 protection of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala 1:07:19 . Then Mrs. Hani. Alhamdulillah, 1:07:26 present to listen to Ustaz Doni's 1:07:28 tausiyah, and may you always be in good 1:07:30 health and under the protection of 1:07:32 Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. Very well, 1:07:35 Ustaz. Uh for the closing, please, 1:07:40 Ustaz. 1:07:41 Yes. Thank you, Kang Fauzi. So, 1:07:46 brothers and sisters, gentlemen and 1:07:49 ladies who are blessed by Allah, all 1:07:52 our acts of worship are aimed at 1:07:54 changing our character to be in 1:07:57 accordance with what Allah wills. All 1:08:01 of that has a guide. Where? In the 1:08:04 Al-Qur'an. So Allah says, "Wa kullam 1:08:06 naqushu 'alaika min anba'i ar-rusuli ma 1:08:09 nuthabbitu bihi fu'adak." The stories 1:08:11 of the Prophets, the stories contained 1:08:13 in the Al-Qur'an. That is our guide. So 1:08:16 , every event that happens in a year 1:08:19 has a reference story that we must 1:08:21 study for the sake of changing our 1:08:24 character. Likewise with our acts of 1:08:29 worship and all the sharia commands 1:08:35 that exist, they are actually meant to 1:08:37 change our character through the 1:08:39 stories that Allah has provided in the 1:08:41 Al-Qur'an. So, hopefully, in this month 1:08:45 of Dhu al-Hijjah, we can take lessons 1:08:47 from the stories related to this month. 1:08:51 Tonight, we have only discussed one 1:08:53 story. That is all, barakallah. May 1:08:55 Allah bless us all. Wabillahi taufiq 1:08:58 wal hidayah. Wassalamualaikum 1:08:59 warahmatullahi wabarakatuh. 1:09:01 Waalaikumsalam warahmatullahi 1:09:03 wabarakatuh. Alhamdulillahi rabbil 1:09:04 alamin. Jazakumullah khairan, Ustaz. 1:09:08 One story from this month of Dhu 1:09:10 al-Hijjah at the end of the year in 1:09:12 1446 Hijri, hopefully, it brings 1:09:19 benefits and goodness, and the stories 1:09:23 conveyed by Ustaz Doni can change our 1:09:27 selves. As stated earlier by Ustaz Doni 1:09:31 , innallaha la yugayyiru ma bi qawmin 1:09:33 hatta yughayyiru ma bi anfusihim. With 1:09:37 that verse, South Korea was able to 1:09:40 transform itself into a success. Well, 1:09:43 that is all. I hope it is beneficial. I 1:09:46 am Fauzi, and I apologize for any 1:09:49 mistakes, as do Neza and Yusuf Subangit 1:09:52 . Subhanakallahumma wabihamdika asyhadu 1:09:54 alla ilaha illa anta astaghfiruka wa 1:09:56 atubu ilaik. Assalamu'alaikum 1:09:58 warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
