Brothers 2:29 and sisters who are blessed by Allah, 2:31 and all operators at Radio Silaturahim 2:34 and Rasil TV. On this evening, God 2:40 willing, we will discuss an 2:42 extraordinary surah from the Noble 2:45 Quran. Contemplating just a little from 2:49 this surah, which is Surah Al-Buruj, 2:51 the 85th surah. Yes, Allah Subhanahu wa 2:56 ta'ala has made this Quran for us all 3:01 as a guide, a form of miracle present 3:05 among us. May Allah bless what we are 3:09 doing, and may this discussion be 3:11 beneficial, God willing. Let us always 3:14 send prayers and peace upon our leader, 3:16 Prophet Muhammad, may Allah bless him 3:18 and grant him peace. Likewise, to all 3:21 his family and his companions. May we 3:24 remain steadfast in learning, 3:26 practicing, and preaching the values 3:27 that he, may Allah bless him and grant 3:29 him peace, taught us. O Allah, send 3:32 prayers, peace, and blessings upon him 3:34 and upon his family and all his 3:35 companions. Brothers and sisters, may 3:39 Allah bless you, Surah Al-Buruj is the 3:41 85th surah of the Noble Quran, in the 3:43 30th juz. In the Quran, ladies and 3:48 gentlemen, brothers and sisters, every 3:53 word that Allah chooses has...A meaning 4:00 that is not small, it has a very deep 4:02 and extraordinary meaning. And this is 4:05 something that does not exist anywhere 4:08 else but in the Quran. So, the meaning 4:14 of the words Allah uses is not 4:16 arbitrary. Now, on this morning's 4:20 occasion, we will discuss why Allah 4:24 uses the word 'buruj' in Surah Al-Buruj 4:27 , even though to describe stars, it is 4:35 not just 'buruj' in Arabic, there are 4:38 other words. There is 'najm', which 4:42 means bird—oh sorry, star too, 'najm' 4:45 is that. Then 'kaukaban', so to speak. 4:49 'Kaukaban', 'kaukab', that is also a 4:52 star. And 'buruj' also means star. Well 4:57 , the difference in Arabic is something 5:00 not possessed by other languages. There 5:05 is, there is a difference. 'Najm', when 5:08 'najm' is mentioned, it means any star, 5:15 all kinds of stars, whether they are 5:20 many united together or individual 5:25 stars; we know stars are suns, right? 5:31 So our sun is also a star. So the sun 5:37 is—actually all stars are suns. 5:43 Meaning, eh, our sun is also a star. 5:49 Now, when 'najm' is mentioned, for 5:51 example in Surah 53, "wan-najmi idha 5:54 hawa ma dalla sahibukum..." 'hawa' and 6:01 so on, that 'najm' can mean all types 6:04 of stars, whether it is one star or 6:07 stars together. That is what is called 6:12 'najm'. Now, it is different with ' 6:16 kaukab'. This is to show later why it 6:21 is called 'buruj'. Then the third is ' 6:24 buruj'. 'Kaukab' is also a star, but a 6:29 star when we see them scattered. It is 6:35 scattered. Many are scattered. That is 6:37 called 'kaukab'. It is taken from a 6:41 condition or Arabic linguistic term 6:44 called 'rubai mujarrad'. 'Rubai' is a 6:50 word composed of four letters 6:53 indicating many. On average, words in 6:57 Arabic are composed of three letters. 7:01 But there are those with four that 7:03 indicate many. Like 'kautsar', yes. ' 7:07 Kautsar' is also 'rubai mujarrad'. ' 7:09 Kautsar', yes. 'Inna a'tainakal kautsar 7:13 '. Now, the root word is 'katsir'. ' 7:17 Kautsar', 'katsir' itself means many. 7:23 But once formed into the 'rubai 7:26 mujarrad' form, the four-letter ' 7:29 kautsar', it means very, very, very, 7:32 very, very many. That is why 'kautsar', 7:36 'katsir' itself already means many. But 7:39 'kautsar' means very, very, very many. 7:44 Now, 'kaukab' means star. When we see 7:50 stars scattered in the sky in such 7:54 abundance, with them being, what, very 7:59 scattered like that. Now, that is 8:03 called 'kaukab'. Therefore, in Surah 8:07 Al-An'am, for example, in the sixth 8:10 surah, when Prophet Ibrahim saw a star, 8:14 it is called 'kaukaban', verse 76, 8:16 surah 6, verse 76. "Falamma janna ' 8:22 alaihil lailu ra'a kaukaban." The 8:26 phrase' hadha rabbi ', said Prophet 8:29 Ibrahim when he saw a star at night, he 8:32 used the word' kaukab '. Meaning stars 8:36 that are very numerous and scattered. 8:41 Scattered, with, what, so many of them, 8:45 infinite, right? There is no form that 8:50 is lonely or, what is it called,' 8:52 kaukab '. Now, The third topic of our 8:59 discussion is this, the third term for 9:01 a star, which is called buruj. Uh, 9:04 buruj is different again. Buruj is 9:08 different from kaukab, and different 9:10 from najm. Buruj, my brothers, is a 9:17 star that is near other stars. Grouped 9:26 together in one group. So, if those 9:31 stars group together in one group, 9:35 forming a pattern, it is called a 9:40 cluster. Yeah, this is a cluster. This 9:46 cluster has its own movement. It, you 9:51 know. It orbits, circling something at 9:55 its center. It contains stars, stars, 10:00 stars. So, for example, our sun is a 10:04 star, right, and next to our sun, there 10:07 is a neighbor star, named the Andromeda 10:13 galaxy. This neighboring star, this 10:17 neighboring sun, also has planets that 10:20 surround it. Just like our sun, there 10:24 are planets surrounding it, including 10:26 our Earth rotating, right, spinning. To 10:33 be able to reach that neighbor star, 10:38 the Andromeda galaxy star, is the 10:41 closest star to our sun. To be able to 10:47 get there, to know the distance, it is 10:51 said, we need a spaceship that can fly 10:57 at the speed of light. The speed of 11:01 light is about 300,000 km/second. Now, 11:09 if we could have a ship that fast, we 11:12 would only reach the closest or 11:14 neighboring star to our sun, which is 11:17 also a star. We would only arrive after 11:22 a 4-year journey without stopping. Uh, 11:26 so that is called a 4-year light-travel 11:29 distance. So, the distance between our 11:34 sun and its neighbor is approximately 4 11:36 light-years. Well, it turns out those 11:40 stars gather together near each other. 11:48 And after they gather, they will, uh, 11:51 surround or rotate together like 11:54 performing tawaf, circling, uh, 11:57 rotating, orbiting a certain orbit as 12:00 well. Now, then that cluster, the 12:09 combination of those stars, how many 12:11 are there in one cluster? Wallahu a'lam 12:16 (God knows best), we humans cannot yet 12:19 provide exact data because there are so 12:23 many. Then the cluster which contains 12:30 so many stars it turns out, yes it is 12:39 those clusters that move away from 12:42 other clusters. Uh, they also gather in 12:50 one orbit called a supercluster. Now, 12:54 if it can be described, here is the 12:55 picture. Uh, this. Well, this is a 13:00 cluster. So, there are open clusters in 13:06 astronomical terms and, uh, globular 13:09 clusters. So, the stars arranged like 13:17 this are what Allah calls buruj. Yes, 13:23 in astronomical language, it is a 13:25 cluster. Why is it later called a 13:30 cluster like this? Because it is these 13:34 clusters that can form groups, uh, 13:36 groups. There are certain star clusters 13:42 that, you know, form something. 13:46 Therefore the name buruj, which Allah 13:56 applies to this, uh, star cluster, is 14:01 an oath that Allah uses, uh, later in 14:08 Surah Al-Buruj, Allah, Allah uses this 14:11 oath, uh, brothers and sisters, ladies 14:14 and gentlemen, to swear regarding the 14:17 content of the oath. Yes, so that oath 14:22 is what Allah uses. You see, an oath is 14:26 used to state the content of the oath 14:31 itself. So, regarding "wasama-i dzatil 14:36 buruj." In this verse, Allah swears by 14:39 the sky that possesses constellations 14:43 of stars. Meaning, the many stars that 14:50 form clusters and then move further 14:53 away from one another. Yes, so imagine 14:57 it like a balloon being inflated, right 15:02 ? To this very second, the universe 15:07 continues to expand, because one 15:10 cluster and another continue to move 15:12 apart, constantly expanding. Yes, the 15:18 universe has no limit; the sky has no, 15:19 has no boundaries because it is still 15:21 expanding to this very second. That is 15:24 why the word "buruj" is used, "wasama-i 15:27 zatil buruj." Now, this is Allah's oath 15:32 . Through this oath, Allah introduces 15:35 an important point later on, namely 15:41 that Allah’s forgiveness is 15:44 extraordinarily vast. So, Allah's oath 15:49 by the constellations is intended to 15:52 illustrate the immense forgiveness of 15:55 Allah. Therefore, later in this Surah 16:00 Al-Buruj, ladies and gentlemen, 16:03 brothers and sisters, in verses 10 and 16:06 11, we will find the purpose of the 16:08 oath that began in the first verse. The 16:14 purpose is to explain how vast Allah's 16:17 forgiveness is. "Wasama-i zatil buruj." 16:22 Specifically, what is the form of His 16:24 forgiveness in verses 10 and 11? Verse 16:27 10 after Allah swore from the first 16:32 verse continuously up to verse 9, then 16:35 verse 10 tells of people in the time of 16:38 the Children of Israel who were cruelly 16:47 murdering the believers. It goes so far 16:53 that in various books of tafsir, it is 16:56 explained that the killing was done by 16:58 forcing the believers of that time into 17:01 a trench. Then, hay was placed inside 17:07 the trench, and they were burned alive 17:11 by these tyrants. Now, Allah, being the 17:18 Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful. This 17:22 is meant to show how vast Allah's 17:25 forgiveness is, like the sky that never 17:28 stops expanding to this very second. 17:33 Because of those star clusters, Allah 17:36 says in verse 10, "A'udzubillahi 17:42 minash-shaitanir-rajim.""... 17:45 al-mu'minina wal-mu'minati summa lam 17:47 yatubu""...falahum' adzabu jahannama wa 17:51 lahum 'adzabul-hariq." Allah says, 17:55 those who oppressed the believers in 17:58 the time of the Children of Israel, in 18:01 the past, "fatanul-mu'minina 18:04 wal-mu'minat," they will be met with 18:08 punishment. The punishment of Hell and 18:12 a burning punishment, if they do not 18:14 repent. The phrasing is "summa lam 18:19 yatubu." If they do not repent, " 18:24 falahum' adzabu jahannama," they will 18:26 get the punishment of Hell. "Wa lahum ' 18:29 adzabul-hariq." They will receive a 18:31 burning punishment. What if they repent 18:35 ? Well, that is it, of course. If the 18:40 repentance is true and correct while 18:42 there is still an opportunity in this 18:45 life before death, surely Allah will 18:47 accept their repentance. But with its 18:52 terms and conditions. That is why there 18:55 is the phrase "summa lam yatubu." This 18:58 form of the sentence shows how 18:59 extraordinary Allah's forgiveness is. 19:02 Only if they do not repent, ah, only 19:04 then will Allah give them the 19:06 punishment. This is extraordinary. 19:12 Because we humans cannot, it's 19:15 impossible for us to be like Allah in 19:18 giving forgiveness, in giving, uh, 19:21 pardon right? But that is how Allah 19:27 wants to show how vast that forgiveness 19:30 is. To the point that even those who 19:35 have committed injustice, whose 19:37 injustice was murdering believers, yes. 19:41 In this verse Allah still awaits their 19:45 repentance, and only if they do not 19:47 repent will Allah punish them. Yes. 19:52 That's it. Uh. Suppose we think like 19:58 this, for example, the Jewish Israelis, 20:02 who are incredibly cruel, very unjust. 20:08 Suppose they repent, for instance, 20:10 there is one or two people who repent, 20:13 then convert to Islam, repent sincerely 20:15 , and improve themselves. Will Allah 20:20 accept their repentance? Of course, 20:22 Allah accepts their repentance. But 20:25 even I, as a human, find it difficult 20:29 to forgive the actions they have 20:31 committed. But Allah is All-Forgiving 20:36 if they repent. Yes, if they repent, 20:38 that is the key. If they do not repent, 20:43 then of course there is the punishment 20:45 of Hell and a painful torment. Walahum 20:48 azab al-hariq. Now, the vastness of 20:52 Allah's forgiveness is like the sky 20:54 that continues to expand to this very 20:56 second because of those buruj earlier. 21:01 The greatness of Surah Al-Buruj is how 21:04 Allah depicts it in such a way, with 21:06 the choice of the word "buruj" to 21:08 illustrate the meaning within it to us. 21:13 Namely, how vast Allah's forgiveness is 21:15 , like the sky that continues to expand 21:17 , developing, what's called an 21:19 expanding universe, ladies and 21:21 gentlemen. In the 11th verse, if the 21:25 10th verse was about those who 21:27 committed injustice, that if they do 21:29 not repent, Allah will punish them. 21:32 That is a form of Allah's incredibly 21:33 great forgiveness. Now, the 11th verse 21:38 is for those who believe and do 21:40 righteous deeds, "innalladhina amanu wa 21:42 ' amilus-salihati lahum jannatun tajri 21:44 min tahtiha al-anhar." They receive 21:47 gardens beneath which rivers flow. Then 21:50 there is the phrase " 21:52 dhalikal-fawzul-kabir." All of that is 21:56 a reward for the believers. A great 22:00 reward. Fawzul-kabir. What we must note 22:06 from the phrase "fawzul-kabir," ladies 22:09 and gentlemen, brothers and sisters, is 22:12 that this "al-kabir" or great reward, 22:15 its greatness is according to Allah's 22:21 perspective, not human perspective. 22:26 Because this verse is a verse from the 22:28 side of Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. 22:30 Fawzul-kabir. A great bounty. This 22:34 great bounty is calculated from Allah's 22:36 side, not the human side. How great is 22:41 this? Wow, it is extraordinary. If we 22:44 may analogize it to a simple count of 22:47 days, one day in human terms is 22:52 equivalent to 1,000 years in Allah's 22:54 terms. Meaning 1,000 years in...one day 22:59 in Allah's terms is like 1,000 years in 23:01 the world. In Surah As-Sajdah, right? 23:06 What is it called? "Ka-alfi sanatin 23:09 mimma ta'uddun." Like 1,000 years of 23:12 what you count, that is one day in the 23:15 sight of Allah. So if we may analogize 23:19 and compare, in human eyes it is seen 23:23 as one day, but in the sight of Allah, 23:25 it is equal to 1,000 years. 1,000 years 23:28 is a human timeframe. So when Allah 23:31 mentions fauzul kabir, the great reward 23:34 , it means a reward in Allah's sight, 23:37 more or less. We can roughly imagine, 23:43 although certainly not precisely, a 23:46 ratio of 1 day to 360,000. days. Yes, 23:56 indeed. 360,000, yes; 1 year is 360 24:00 days times 1,000, that’s 360,000 days 24:04 , a 1 to 360,000 ratio. Well, exactly. 24:10 This shows how extraordinary Allah's 24:13 reward is. How vast it is, as wide as 24:15 the heavens and the earth. And when 24:19 Allah mentions as wide as the heavens 24:22 and the earth in Surah Al-Imran verse 24:26 133, Surah 3 verse 133, the phrase is 24:30 wasariu ila magfiratin mirbikum. Hasten 24:36 towards forgiveness from your Lord. Wa 24:39 jannatin, and a paradise. How big is it 24:44 ? What is its size? Arduha samawatu wal 24:47 ard. As big as the heavens and the 24:53 earth. As big as the heavens and the 24:57 earth. Muttaqin, which Allah has 25:00 prepared for the believers. This size, 25:02 as big as the heavens and the earth, 25:03 how big is it? Well, this is what, to 25:07 this day, the heaven itself continues 25:11 to expand without stopping. It is 25:15 called the expanding universe. And it 25:18 all comes from the existence of 25:20 clusters of stars or kaukab, or buruj. 25:24 I mean buruj. So when Allah uses the 25:29 word buruj, wasamaizatil buruj, not 25:31 kaukab, not najem. The point is that 25:36 Allah wants to give us a picture. That 25:41 how vast Allah’s forgiveness is, 25:44 it’s like a cluster of stars that 25:47 keeps expanding, moving further away 25:50 from one another. In the end, the sky 25:52 expands continuously, getting bigger 25:54 and bigger. That is how Allah’s 25:57 forgiveness is, always expanding to 25:59 this very day. Even to this second, 26:01 Allah’s forgiveness still exists. So, 26:05 it gives us a picture of how 26:07 extraordinary Allah’s forgiveness is, 26:09 in its vastness. That’s why the use 26:13 of the word buruj is extraordinary. So 26:19 there is no need for any of us to doubt 26:21 in this life; if we have made mistakes 26:24 or have shortcomings, then immediately 26:27 come to ask for Allah’s forgiveness. 26:32 We are Muslims, God willing, we have 26:34 recited the two sentences of the 26:36 Shahada. We are entitled to Allah’s 26:39 forgiveness. Let alone us, even those 26:43 who act unjustly toward believers, 26:45 Allah says inadzina fatanul mukminina 26:48 wal mukminat tumma lam yatubu. They act 26:52 unjustly toward the believers, killing 26:53 the believers. Only if they do not 26:56 repent will Allah punish them. That is 26:59 the nature of Allah’s forgiveness. 27:00 How much more so for us. We are Muslims 27:05 who have made our profession of faith. 27:08 God willing, we do not act unjustly 27:10 toward others. For our sins and 27:13 mistakes, let us hurry to repent to 27:15 Allah because we are more entitled to 27:17 receive all of that. Ladies and 27:20 gentlemen. So the word buruj is not 27:23 simple. The choice of words has a 27:26 purpose and a meaning. So, if we don't 27:30 explore this explanation, we cannot 27:34 understand what Allah intended by 27:37 mentioning the word buruj and so on. 27:41 Indeed, the word choices in the Quran 27:44 truly have their intended meanings. 27:49 They have their meanings. So, the 27:51 vastness of Allah’s forgiveness is as 27:54 wide as the star clusters that never 27:57 stop expanding to this very second. 28:01 Hopefully, brothers and sisters, may 28:03 Allah bless you all. This is what we 28:07 can understand further about this 28:11 choice of the word "buruj". After 28:14 looking at several verses in the Quran 28:17 that contain forgiveness. The 28:20 forgiveness of Allah. Now, I will share 28:23 a compilation that I have gathered from 28:26 verses of the Quran that contain the 28:29 mention of Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala's 28:33 forgiveness with different linguistic 28:36 styles. Now, in order for us to 28:42 understand how immense Allah's 28:44 forgiveness is, the chosen word was " 28:45 buruj". Al-Buruj. Yes, there are 28:50 several of these. So, today we will 28:53 only focus on discussing the "buruj". 28:56 The choice of the word "buruj" and how 28:58 it demonstrates great forgiveness. 29:01 Verses 10 and 11, yes. So, Allah's oath 29:06 , I repeat, Allah's oath is a way Allah 29:09 swears by something. Allah swears to— 29:14 that oath is used to emphasize how 29:17 important the content of the oath being 29:21 conveyed is. Like that. For example, in 29:29 Surah Al-Asr, "wal asr", the content of 29:31 the oath is "innal insana lafi khusr". 29:35 How humans are in a state of loss. "Wal 29:37 fajri", "wal layali al-ashr", and so on 29:39 . The content of the discussion later 29:41 is... "Fa-amma al-insanu idha ma 29:45 ibtalahu rabbuhu fa-akramahu wa 29:47 na'amahu". Yes, which verse? Verses 15 29:51 and 16, that is the content where Allah 29:53 uses His oath. "Wad-duha", an oath by 29:56 the morning brightness. "Wallaili idha 29:58 saja". The content of the oath is "ma 30:01 wadda'aka rabbuka wa ma qala". So, an 30:05 oath is used to carry and deliver the 30:08 extraordinary content of that oath. 30:11 Likewise, in Surah Al-Buruj. Allah 30:16 swears by the star clusters that we 30:17 know are constantly moving away from 30:19 one another, called "buruj". To deliver 30:22 the content of the oath. How immense 30:25 Allah's forgiveness is, to be able to 30:28 understand further how great Allah's 30:31 forgiveness is for us all. I have 30:35 gathered some verses, a compilation, so 30:38 to speak, to understand how great 30:41 Allah's forgiveness is, so that there 30:44 is no—what do you call it—no reason 30:47 for us to procrastinate. Instead, we 30:53 should immediately bring our mistakes, 30:57 our sins, and our shortcomings from the 31:01 past before Allah to repent truly and 31:04 earnestly. Yes, there are several 31:09 verses I have displayed. I have 31:12 collected them, which I show to all the 31:14 brothers and sisters so we can 31:17 understand the essence of the word 31:19 choice "Al-Buruj" in indicating Allah's 31:22 forgiveness. One is in Surah An-Nisa; 31:27 from Surah An-Nisa, there are four 31:29 verses. These four verses are said to 31:33 be verses that the companions were very 31:37 fond of repeating regarding forgiveness 31:41 . There are four in Surah An-Nisa. The 31:44 first is Surah An-Nisa verse 31. The 31:48 word of Allah, "A'udhu billahi 31:50 minash-shaytanir-rajim". "In tajtanibu 31:52 kaba'ir". If you, says Allah, avoid " 31:58 kaba'ir", the major sins that We forbid 32:02 or that We have established, the major 32:07 sins that We forbid. If you avoid the 32:13 major sins that We forbid, then Allah's 32:16 promise is twofold. "Nukaffir 'ankum 32:20 sayyi'atikum". By simply avoiding major 32:25 sins, Allah promises to cover your 32:28 wrongdoings, nukfir ankum sayiatikum. 32:32 Allah will cover your faults. The minor 32:37 mistakes, the small shortcomings that 32:41 we forget, overlook, or slip up on, 32:45 Allah will cover because we have 32:49 avoided major sins. The second one, 32:53 wudilkum mudkhalan karima. And Allah 32:56 will admit you into a noble entrance. 33:03 That is just by avoiding major sins. 33:07 How merciful Allah is, how vast Allah's 33:10 forgiveness is. So when someone avoids 33:15 major sins, Allah immediately grants 33:18 two promises at once. That is why when 33:24 someone asks me, "What should I do, 33:26 Ustaz?" For example, my child wants to 33:30 go abroad for school on a scholarship, 33:33 but they want to get married first. 33:37 Well, someone once confided that to me. 33:41 I worry that if I let them marry, they 33:44 won't be focused on their studies. My 33:47 child is a daughter, Ustaz, and she has 33:49 a scholarship. Is it right if I say, " 33:53 Just go to school first. When you're 33:58 finished and come back, then get 34:00 married." Even though the child has 34:02 already asked to be married. I told him 34:03 , "Don't do that, sir. Do not delay 34:06 your child's marriage if they have 34:08 asked for it and there is a suitor, 34:11 marry them off first. As for the 34:15 schooling and the scholarship, that 34:17 will follow. Meaning, it will turn out 34:19 well, God willing. Why? Because by 34:23 marrying off your child, we are trying 34:26 to help them avoid committing major 34:28 sins. If a major sin were to happen, 34:34 like adultery for instance, that would 34:37 be dangerous. By avoiding major sins, 34:44 one receives Allah's promise: nukfir 34:46 ankum sayiatikum. We will cover your 34:50 minor mistakes and......and We will 34:54 admit you into a noble entrance. Like 34:58 that. See, how merciful Allah is. As 35:01 soon as someone avoids major sins, 35:03 Allah immediately bestows goodness upon 35:06 them. Yes, that is the second point, 35:10 still in Surah An-Nisa, verse 48. There 35:17 is another one similar to this, verse 35:19 116; the only difference is the ending, 35:21 brothers and sisters. Allah's words:" 35:25 innallaha la yaghfiru ayyushraka bihi, 35:28 "Allah does not forgive those who die 35:31 in a state of shirk toward Him; they 35:34 will not be forgiven by Allah......but 35:43 He forgives sins other than that for 35:48 whomever He wills. So if someone dies 35:55 in a state of shirk, it is closed for 35:57 them, the opportunity for Allah to 36:03 forgive them is closed. But if a person 36:08 is not a polytheist and holds true 36:10 tawhid in Allah, even if they commit 36:15 other sins, there is still a 36:17 possibility that Allah will forgive 36:19 them later. Yes, even though they might 36:24 have to enter Hell first to account for 36:26 their sins, there is a possibility they 36:29 can enter Paradise after that. Although 36:33 , of course, we would not want to enter 36:34 Hell first, right? Yes, but for those 36:37 who commit shirk and die in that state, 36:40 there is no chance—there is 36:42 absolutely no opportunity left. That's 36:45 right. That is why shirk is so 36:48 dangerous; the sin of shirk, those 36:51 blessed by Allah, really harms us. 36:55 Allah says," Wama yusyrik billah faqad 36:57 aftara ithman azima. "Indeed, whoever 37:01 commits shirk has truly committed a sin 37:04 that is" azim, "which is truly immense. 37:10 It is not just" kabir, "but" azim, "you 37:12 see. It is even greater than that. Yes, 37:15 a very grave sin indeed. In verse 116, 37:21 the opening sentence is the same. 37:24 Innallaha la yaghfiru an yushraka bihi 37:26 wa yaghfiru ma duna dhalika liman yasha 37:28 . Allah does not forgive the sins of 37:31 those who die in a state of shirk, and 37:34 He forgives anything besides that for 37:38 whomever He wills. Wama yusyrik billah 37:42 faqad dalla dalalan ba'ida. Whoever 37:45 commits shirk has indeed strayed into a 37:48 path that is very far astray. So, this 37:55 is an extraordinary verse because if we 37:58 safeguard our tawhid, God willing, we 38:01 will enter Paradise, even if, for 38:04 example, we have sins that must be 38:07 accounted for in Hell first. But of 38:11 course, we do not want that. Because in 38:14 Hell, one day is equal to 1,000 years, 38:17 so if possible, we want to go straight 38:20 to Paradise, God willing. But those who 38:26 possess tawhid, even if they have sins, 38:29 God willing, they have the opportunity 38:32 to enter Paradise, even if they must 38:35 enter Hell first. But those who die in 38:39 a state of shirk have absolutely no 38:41 opportunity at all. Those blessed by 38:44 Allah. Yes, next is still Surah An-Nisa 38:49 , verse 110. It describes how vast 38:52 Allah's forgiveness is. The sentence is 38:56 " Wama ya'mal su'an aw yazlim nafsahu. 38:59 "Those who commit evil or wrong their 39:04 own souls. Then there is the phrase" 39:08 thumma yastaghfirillah. "Then this 39:11 person who wronged themselves asks for 39:14 forgiveness from Allah. Yes, if they 39:20 ask for forgiveness from Allah," 39:22 yajidillaha ghafuran rahima. "Then they 39:26 will find that Allah is Oft-Forgiving, 39:28 Most Merciful. Yes, so a person who 39:34 commits evil, even to the point of 39:37 wronging themselves, but then repents 39:39 to Allah and asks for His forgiveness. 39:43 Allah is Oft-Forgiving. They will find 39:46 that Allah is" yajidillaha ghafuran 39:48 rahima. "In various explanations, this 39:52 verse explains that as soon as someone 39:55 asks for forgiveness from Allah, asks 40:01 for forgiveness sincerely from Allah, 40:05 they will find that Allah opens a way 40:09 for them to become better. That is what 40:13 is meant by the phrase" yajidillaha. " 40:16 They will find that Allah is Ghafurur 40:18 Rahim, Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. 40:21 Yes, they will find the path that Allah 40:25 has opened for them. Now, this includes 40:29 you, brothers and sisters, listening to 40:31 Rasil tonight or tuning in to Rasil TV; 40:34 it may well be the path that Allah has 40:36 opened to help you all become better, 40:42 brothers and sisters. So that is the 40:47 forgiveness of Allah, yajidillaha gofur 40:51 rahim, for those who then repent to 40:54 Allah after committing sins and 40:57 wronging themselves. Next, how did I 41:03 arrange this Surah Al-Ma'idah? By the 41:07 order of the surahs. Surah Al-Ma'idah 41:10 verse 39. The words," A'udzubillahi 41:15 minasyaitanirrajim. "" Ba'dihi wa 41:22 aslaha. "Whoever repents after their 41:26 wrongdoing and then" aslaha, "he 41:32 reforms himself," fainnallaha yatubu 41:35 alaih, "then Allah comes to welcome his 41:38 repentance. He welcomes that repentance 41:44 as in a Hadith of the Prophet, peace be 41:48 upon him, telling how someone who 41:50 repents to Allah; if he repents by 41:53 walking to Allah, then Allah welcomes 41:56 him by running. If he takes one step 42:04 toward Allah, then Allah takes two 42:07 steps toward him." Fa-innallaha yatubu 42:11 alaih. "Then Allah welcomes his 42:12 repentance." Innallaha Gafurur Rahim. " 42:15 Indeed, Allah is the Oft-Forgiving, the 42:17 Most Merciful. Yes, those who have, uh, 42:22 " ba'di zulmihi, "committed wrongs, yes 42:26 . Then he repents and reforms himself. 42:29 This person is blessed by Allah, yes. 42:31 So, truly there is no reason for us not 42:35 to repent to Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala 42:39 because Allah is so very generous and 42:43 forgiving to us all. Next is Surah 42:48 Al-An'am, surah number 6, verse 54. The 42:53 words of Allah:" Wa idza ja-akalladzina 42:57 yu'minuna bi-ayatina faqul salamun' 42:59 alaikum. "If those who believe in our 43:01 verses come to you, then say," Peace be 43:03 upon you. "" Kataba rabbukum 'ala 43:06 nafsihi rahmah. "Allah mandated, or 43:10 established—not mandated, but 43:13 established—upon Himself the quality 43:17 of mercy," ar-rahmah. "Allah 43:21 established upon Himself the quality of 43:24 mercy. Namely, the form of His mercy is 43:33 " annahu man' amila minkum su-an 43:35 bijahalatin. "Meaning, if anyone among 43:40 you commits evil out of ignorance; that 43:43 ignorance means being unaware, not 43:46 knowing, carried away by emotions, and 43:50 so on. Then, after that act, he truly 43:59 repents to Allah and reforms himself." 44:04 Fa-annahu Gafurur Rahim. "Then Allah is 44:07 the Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful. 44:10 Now, this is the form of" kataba 'ala 44:12 nafsihi rahmah. "Allah mandated and 44:15 established upon Himself the quality of 44:18 mercy for His servants. So, if there 44:23 are people who are still doing evil, 44:26 for example, or are drowning in sin, we 44:30 see them now, we should urge them to 44:37 hurry and repent while they are still 44:40 alive. And Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala 44:44 accepts repentance, yes. Even though 44:48 this person wronged himself, even 44:52 though this person has committed wrongs 44:54 , as long as he is still alive, Allah 44:56 still accepts his repentance. And if he 44:59 passes away suddenly, it is feared he 45:01 might not have the chance to ask for 45:02 Allah's forgiveness. Especially if the 45:06 sin is the sin of shirk. Shirk is very 45:10 dangerous. There is no chance to 45:12 receive Allah's forgiveness, brothers 45:13 and sisters. Yes, next, to illustrate 45:18 for us, Surah Al-A'raf verse 153. The 45:28 words of Allah:" Walladzina' amilus 45:30 sayyi-ati tsumma tabu mim ba'diha wa 45:32 amanu inna rabbaka mim ba'diha 45:34 la-Gafurur Rahim. "Those who committed 45:38 evil deeds then repented thereafter and 45:42 believed. Indeed, your Lord, after 45:49 their previous wrongdoing, is truly 45:52 Oft-Forgiving and Most Merciful; the 45:55 emphasis indicates that Allah is truly 45:57 forgiving and merciful to those who 46:00 repent and believe. If one simply 46:04 repents and improves oneself, the 46:07 emphasis is not there. It is just" 46:09 Innallaha ghafurur rahim. "Allah is 46:11 Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. But for 46:13 those who repent and believe, they 46:16 receive a higher reward. Namely, there 46:20 is the emphatic" lam "that indicates" 46:22 truly. "Allah is truly Oft-Forgiving, 46:27 Most Merciful. So, repenting and 46:29 reaching a state of faith, that reward 46:31 is great. Repenting and improving 46:34 oneself already yields a great reward 46:36 as well. But if one repents and 46:40 improves until the character of faith 46:43 is present, then the response of Allah 46:46 is" la ghafurur rahim, "meaning Allah 46:49 is truly Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. 46:56 Right. Then next, Allah's guarantee not 47:04 to punish. Human life. The condition is 47:11 in Surah Al-Anfal verse 33, where Allah 47:15 says," wa ma kana Allahu liyu'azzibahum 47:18 wa anta fihim. "Allah will not punish a 47:23 person or a people," wa anta fihim. "As 47:28 long as the Messenger is among them. 47:34 The" anta "refers to the Messenger of 47:35 Allah. As long as the Messenger is in 47:37 their midst, Allah will not punish them 47:39 . Of course, now the Messenger has 47:42 physically passed away and is no longer 47:44 with us. But what is meant is not just 47:49 his physical presence; everything he 47:52 taught, if we apply it in our daily 47:55 lives, means we are bringing the 47:57 Messenger into our lives. Therefore, 48:04 Allah will not punish us. That is 48:08 Allah's promise in Surah Al-Anfal verse 48:09 33. As long as humans bring the 48:13 Messenger into their lives, Allah will 48:16 not punish them. Likewise with our 48:20 prayers (salawat) upon the Prophet, 48:21 peace be upon him. It means the Prophet 48:24 lives with us even though he has passed 48:26 away. Through our prayers and the 48:32 examples we take from him, Allah will 48:37 not punish us. For example, ladies and 48:42 gentlemen, there is a husband, for 48:46 instance, a father. His hobby or 48:52 preference, this husband or father, is 48:56 to treat his family, such as taking 48:59 them out to eat, going on trips, and so 49:03 on. He is not afraid that his money 49:07 will run out or anything. Now, when 49:11 asked," Why do you do this? Why, for 49:14 example, do you provide for your wife 49:17 and children, taking them out to eat 49:19 and travel constantly? "" Why? "If he 49:23 answers," I want to follow what the 49:26 Messenger said when he stated, ' 49:29 Khairukum khairukum li ahli.' "" The 49:33 best of you are those who are best to 49:35 their families. "And I am trying to be 49:40 the best to my family. Then that is a 49:43 form of emulating the Messenger. 49:46 Likewise for mothers, if you do good to 49:51 your family, not getting angry easily, 49:55 for example, not thinking ill of others 50:00 , and not easily accusing others. 50:05 Something like that. Why do you do this 50:07 ? I want to be as the Messenger 50:10 demonstrated when he said," The best of 50:13 you are those who are best. "to his 50:15 family. Uh, that is to improve oneself. 50:21 In fact, in that way, the Messenger of 50:23 Allah lives among us. And with that, 50:26 Allah will not punish a person, a 50:28 people, or a household if the Messenger 50:31 of Allah is in their midst. Meaning, 50:35 his teachings. And wallahu mu'adzibuhum 50:40 wahum yastaghfirun. And Allah will not 50:43 punish a person as long as he asks for 50:46 forgiveness from Allah. This is Allah's 50:50 guarantee, such is the extraordinary 50:52 extent to which Allah's forgiveness is 50:54 open to us all. Yes, attendees who are 50:57 blessed by Allah. Brothers and sisters. 51:00 On this evening, we are reflecting on 51:04 the word" buruj, "Allah's choice in 51:07 Surah Al-Buruj, which truly has an 51:10 extraordinary meaning, just as how 51:13 clusters of stars move away from each 51:17 other. moving away from one another. It 51:23 means the sky continues to expand, it 51:26 keeps expanding, just like forgiveness. 51:30 That is how Allah wants to describe His 51:32 forgiveness to humans. Therefore, it is 51:36 a great loss if we do not immediately 51:38 come and ask for forgiveness from Allah 51:40 Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. Doing what has 51:43 been described in several verses of the 51:47 Qur'an earlier, including Surah 51:50 Al-Anfal verse 33. Namely, that we 51:53 always keep the Prophet sallallahu 51:56 alaihi wasallam alive in our daily 51:59 lives through prayers and the examples 52:02 we follow under his guidance. Likewise, 52:05 by asking for forgiveness from Allah 52:07 Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. This is perhaps 52:11 all I can convey as an overview of the 52:14 word choice" Al-Buruj "in this 85th 52:16 chapter, which is certainly 52:18 extraordinary. How Allah portrays His 52:23 infinite forgiveness, which keeps 52:25 growing like the ever-expanding sky, 52:29 which to this very second remains open. 52:33 So that it encourages us to repent 52:35 immediately and come to Allah Subhanahu 52:38 wa Ta'ala to seek His forgiveness for 52:41 us all. And Allah knows best. I return 52:45 it to Kang Fari. Billahi taufik wal 52:47 hidayah. Wassalamu'alaikum 52:49 warahmatullahi wabarakatuh. wabarakatuh 52:53 . Thus, brothers and sisters, we have 52:55 listened together to the lecture by 52:57 Ustaz Doni Amir Sagap on Tadabur 52:59 Al-Qur'an. Together we have reflected 53:03 on Surah Al-Buruj earlier, as well as 53:05 Surah An-Nisa, Surah Al-Ma'idah, and 53:07 also Surah Al-An'am. We will take a 53:10 break, Ustaz, and will return after the 53:12 next break, staying with us, brothers 53:14 and sisters. In the name of Allah, the 53:17 Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. In 53:27 the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, 53:29 the Most Merciful. For the one Islam, 53:42 still with us, brothers and sisters, on 53:45 the Tadabur Al-Qur'an program with 53:47 Ustaz Doni Amir Sagap regarding Allah's 53:50 forgiveness and the wonders of 53:52 astronomy. Many have joined, Ustaz, on 53:55 WhatsApp Rasil who have sent messages 53:58 this evening. Here is Mr. Edwin Saleh 54:01 watching via Rasil TV YouTube. Thank 54:03 you, Ustaz, for the advice and the 54:04 lecture. Mrs. Darniwati is also 54:06 watching. Mrs. Hati, Mrs. Aminah, Mrs. 54:11 Anis Hani Hudaifah is also watching 54:14 this evening. Mrs. Eti Rustam Minto in 54:16 Singapore is also watching. Mr. Abu 54:19 Abdillah, also Mr. Imam Pratomo, then 54:23 Mrs. Siswa Trifai in Batam, uh Mrs. 54:26 Jumarsih, Mr. Amsir, Eyang Sri, Mrs. 54:30 Tati, and many more. First, I will read 54:33 , Ustaz, a question that came in from 54:35 Mrs. Aminah. Peace be upon you and 54:37 Allah's mercy and blessings, Ustaz Doni 54:38 . 54:39 And peace be upon you and Allah's mercy 54:40 and blessings. 54:41 Thank you for giving the sermon this 54:43 evening. I would like to ask a question 54:46 , Ustaz. I feel like I have so many 54:48 sins. I repent to Allah by performing 54:51 obligatory prayers, sunnah prayers, and 54:53 following Allah's commands. Uh, will my 54:56 sins be forgiven by Allah Subhanahu wa 54:59 ta'ala, Ustaz? That is all. 55:01 Yes. Right, thank you to the lady who 55:04 asked on behalf of us all. Of course, 55:08 we are not humans, not perfect beings. 55:11 Humans certainly have mistakes and sins 55:15 , and the best of, uh, sinners are 55:19 those who repent and, insyaAllah. 55:34 Yes, Ustaz Dani. It seems the signal is 55:41 cut. Let's try to contact Ustaz Dani 55:46 again. Hello. Yes. There seems to be a 55:52 signal disturbance, sorry. My apologies 55:54 . We are live on the Zoom application 55:57 with Ustaz Doni Amir Sagap tonight on 55:59 the Tadabur Al-Qur'an program. We are 56:04 trying to reconnect with the Ustaz who 56:07 was answering a question from Mrs. 56:10 Aminah. 56:11 Yes. 56:12 Please continue, Ustaz. 56:14 So, to Mrs. Aminah who asked earlier. 56:19 Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala says in Surah 56:21 Az-Zumar, surah 39 verse 53. If you 56:25 open it later, that is an extraordinary 56:27 sentence from Allah. 56:29 Auzubillahiminasyaitanirrajim. Qul ya 56:33 ibadiadzina asrofu ala anfusihim la 56:36 taknatu rahmatillah innallaha 56:38 yagfirunuba jamia innahu gfururah rahim 56:41 . Say, O My servants who have 56:46 transgressed against themselves, do not 56:49 despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, 56:53 Allah is capable of forgiving all sins. 56:57 So if all humans committed sins and 56:59 then asked for forgiveness from Allah, 57:01 Allah is capable of forgiving them. Let 57:05 alone just one person. As long as we, 57:09 as you said, repent, improve ourselves, 57:13 and then increase our faith. What is in 57:17 the past we do no more, we replace it 57:19 with good deeds, then Allah will surely 57:21 accept our repentance. Yes, so to 57:25 answer your question, will Allah accept 57:27 my repentance? Yes, after repenting, 57:31 you improve yourself with worship and 57:33 so on; what was previously, uh, doing 57:36 bad things here and there is then 57:39 corrected, insyaAllah Allah accepts our 57:41 repentance no matter how great or how 57:44 many our sins are. Uh, that is roughly 57:48 it. Wallahualam, insyaAllah. 57:50 Right, next we move on to the question 57:53 from Mr. Amsir Tabrani in North Kemang. 57:56 Peace be upon you and Allah's mercy and 57:58 blessings, Ustaz Doni. 58:01 And peace be upon you and Allah's mercy 58:02 and blessings. 58:03 Ustaz, why is it that until now there 58:06 is still much debate about determining 58:08 the 1st of Ramadan, 1st of Shawwal, and 58:10 others among Muslims in this country? 58:13 Even though it has been explained in 58:16 the Qur'an and the orbit of the moon is 58:19 clearly run by Allah. But why is the 58:21 thinking of Muslims not yet unified 58:24 today? Yes, Mr. Amsir, and to all the 58:26 gentlemen and ladies asking, as well as 58:29 the others. Mr. Amsir, who asked, and 58:31 to all of you who are blessed by Allah. 58:33 Indeed, this is the way of Allah; there 58:36 will always be debates and differences 58:38 in matters of jurisprudence, or Fiqh. 58:42 So, actually, there is no problem with 58:47 having those debates, as long as in 58:51 those debates we do not insult each 58:55 other and do not need to spend so much 58:59 of the state's budget on such debates. 59:04 Actually, those debates stem from—for 59:07 example, Mr. Amsir, if I may open up a 59:09 little—the determination of Ramadan, 59:11 where there is the phrase" faman 59:13 shahida minkumu "shahro. That is in 59:16 Surah Al-Baqarah verse 185," Shahru 59:18 ramadana alladhi unzila fihi al-quranu 59:20 hudan li-nnasi wa bayyinatin mina 59:21 al-huda wa al-furqan. "The month of 59:24 Ramadan, the month the Quran was 59:26 revealed, it is guidance for mankind, a 59:29 differentiator or furqan, and so on. 59:32 Then there is the sentence," Now, that 59:37 'whoever witnesses' or sees, "that is 59:40 where the Fiqh translation of" 59:43 shahidahu "lies. Whoever witnesses this 59:47 month or is present during this month, 59:49 then they are obliged to fast. It is 59:53 translated with different 59:55 interpretations. Oh, there are those 59:57 who accept that the moon must be 59:59 sighted, 1:00:00 via several other Hadiths later on. 1:00:03 There are others who interpret it as," 1:00:05 Oh, it doesn't need to be sighted. The 1:00:07 important thing is that we truly 1:00:09 understand that the month has already 1:00:11 entered through calculations, which is 1:00:13 also allowed, even if sighting is also 1:00:16 a part of it, to some extent. Whether 1:00:19 one is truly convinced, and so on. Yes, 1:00:23 so we really cannot avoid these 1:00:25 differences in Fiqh, but they should be 1:00:28 managed better. There is no need for 1:00:33 such long debates, and especially no 1:00:36 need to spend a lot of state budget 1:00:39 just for such things; it could be used 1:00:42 for other purposes. So, it should just 1:00:47 be kept to a minimum. Then a regulation 1:00:50 is issued, and that's that. Now, that 1:00:52 is precisely where our problem lies. 1:00:56 Hopefully, we, the Muslims, can soon be 1:00:59 united, even though there are 1:01:01 differences in Fiqh, but there is no 1:01:04 need for wastefulness, and no need for 1:01:06 us to be at each other's throats. What 1:01:12 is clear is that both sides, God 1:01:14 willing, have evidence or an 1:01:16 understanding of Fiqh that does indeed 1:01:19 have a basis. Wallahu a'lam bish-shawab 1:01:22 (And Allah knows best). That is roughly 1:01:24 it. 1:01:24 Very well, Mrs. Anggit is listening. 1:01:27 Mr. Baron is also listening on Rasia 1:01:30 radio this evening. Mrs. Yamida Hasmi 1:01:32 in Serpong is also watching Rasio TV on 1:01:34 YouTube for the Tadabbur Al-Quran 1:01:36 session this evening. Next is a 1:01:38 question from Mr. Wawan in South 1:01:40 Tangerang, Ustaz. Assalamu'alaikum 1:01:41 warahmatullahi wabarakatuh. 1:01:43 Wa'alaikumussalam warahmatullahi 1:01:45 wabarakatuh. 1:01:46 Ustaz, what if a servant of Allah 1:01:48 commits a sin, then repents, then goes 1:01:51 back to sinning again and again like 1:01:54 that? Will Allah continue to grant 1:01:58 forgiveness to that servant, Ustaz? 1:02:00 Does this not count as mocking Allah's 1:02:03 forgiveness? 1:02:04 That is all. 1:02:04 Yes. Yes. Thank you, Mr. Wawa for 1:02:07 asking, and to all the ladies and 1:02:08 gentlemen. Indeed, Allah is the 1:02:11 All-Forgiving, the Most Merciful, right 1:02:13 ? However, it is like this: Allah is 1:02:16 the All-Forgiving and the Most Merciful 1:02:18 . So, if a servant asks for forgiveness 1:02:21 then commits a sin again, asks for 1:02:23 forgiveness again from Allah, repents 1:02:26 sincerely, commits it again, and so on, 1:02:28 will they still be forgiven? The answer 1:02:31 is, yes, Allah still forgives. Now, 1:02:34 that is a form of Allah's extraordinary 1:02:36 forgiveness. Yes. 1:02:37 But, uh, but there is a "but" here. But 1:02:42 how, uh, poor the manners of a person 1:02:45 are if they then, uh, what, 1:02:48 intentionally, in their heart say, "Ah, 1:02:52 never mind, I’ll just commit the sin 1:02:56 first, 1:02:57 I’ll be forgiven by Allah later 1:02:59 anyway," right? There is Allah's 1:03:00 forgiveness. Now, this, this means 1:03:02 being arrogant, right? Arrogance means 1:03:04 taking things lightly, right? Taking 1:03:07 things lightly. 1:03:08 Now, that is dangerous. Because by 1:03:11 doing so, that arrogance—due to 1:03:12 taking Allah lightly, playing around 1:03:14 with Allah’s laws—could be the 1:03:16 reason. That is precisely what makes 1:03:19 them unable to repent later on. Uh, so 1:03:23 that is why the scholars say this. Why 1:03:28 was Iblis not forgiven by Allah? 1:03:31 Because he was arrogant, he was haughty 1:03:33 . Why was Adam forgiven by Allah? 1:03:36 Because he committed a mistake, a sin, 1:03:38 but he was not arrogant, 1:03:40 and he repented. So, if a person acts, 1:03:44 uh, takes things lightly, right, 1:03:46 meaning they commit a sin then ask for 1:03:48 forgiveness. Ah, then they take Allah 1:03:51 lightly, "Ah, I will be forgiven later 1:03:52 anyway.""I’ll just do it again." Ah, 1:03:54 then they can fall into the category of 1:03:56 being arrogant so they are not forgiven 1:03:57 . Ah, that is what I mean. Yes, but if 1:04:01 this person is a servant who, because 1:04:04 of their ignorance and so on, right, 1:04:06 but there is no arrogance there in 1:04:09 their heart. Falling into sin then 1:04:12 asking for forgiveness, falling into 1:04:13 sin again then asking for forgiveness. 1:04:16 Uh, of course, Allah forgives. So those 1:04:19 are two things that must indeed be 1:04:22 noted, and it is extremely dangerous if 1:04:24 someone falls into playing, uh, what, 1:04:27 taking things lightly so that they are 1:04:30 arrogant towards Allah; that is truly, 1:04:33 truly dangerous, and they might not be 1:04:35 forgiven by Allah, just like Iblis, 1:04:38 right? Wallahu a'lam (Allah knows best) 1:04:40 . 1:04:40 Masha Allah. The final question, Ustaz, 1:04:43 yes. The last one from a servant of 1:04:45 Allah. Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi 1:04:47 wabarakatuh, Ustaz. 1:04:48 Waalaikumsalam warahmatullahi. 1:04:50 This is regarding Rabu Wasan, Ustaz, 1:04:53 they say that Allah sends down 1:04:55 calamities on that day, on Rabu Wasan 1:04:58 or the last Wednesday of the month of 1:05:01 Safar. Is there any narration and 1:05:03 guidance from the Prophet, Ustaz, to 1:05:05 perform sunnah acts of worship? 1:05:07 Please provide some enlightenment. That 1:05:09 is all. Now, I will show this on the 1:05:13 screen, Rasil TV, and, uh, for the 1:05:15 listeners of Radio Silaturahim, I will 1:05:18 read the hadith narrated by Imam 1:05:20 Bukhari, hadith number 5,757, and in 1:05:26 the narration of Imam Muslim, hadith 1:05:28 number 2,220. So, what about doing good 1:05:34 deeds on Rabu Wasan? Doing good deeds 1:05:38 is permissible. Whether it's Wednesday, 1:05:40 whether it's Thursday. Doing good deeds 1:05:43 is no problem. But what is not allowed 1:05:45 is the reasoning behind it. If the 1:05:49 reason is because someone says that on 1:05:53 that day God will send down disasters, 1:05:57 calamities, and so on. And we do good 1:06:01 deeds so we aren't struck by that 1:06:03 calamity, well, that is not allowed. 1:06:05 Huh. 1:06:06 Where did you get that from? This is 1:06:08 the hadith. The Prophet sallallahu 1:06:11 alaihi wasallam, ladies and gentlemen. 1:06:13 So this month is called the month of 1:06:16 Safar. 1:06:17 Yes. Actually, it shouldn't be called 1:06:19 Safar, but Safer. 1:06:20 Sa-far. 1:06:20 Sad, fa, and ra, right. Safar is taken 1:06:25 from Arabic which means empty. 1:06:29 Empty. 1:06:30 Yes. Zero, cipher, zero, empty, yes. 1:06:34 Why is that? Because in the past, the 1:06:37 Arabs believed the second month, this 1:06:39 Safar month, was an unlucky month. 1:06:43 That is why homes in Arabia, in Mecca, 1:06:46 were empty. 1:06:47 Everyone would leave. Nobody wanted to 1:06:50 hold celebrations for their children 1:06:52 during the month of Safar. 1:06:54 Uh-huh. 1:06:54 Why? Because they were afraid of bad 1:06:56 luck. 1:06:57 Afraid of bad luck. Well, Prophet 1:07:00 Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam, 1:07:03 long before he became a prophet, 1:07:05 already broke that habit through his 1:07:08 marriage to Siti Khadijah; Lady 1:07:10 Khadijah, it was done in the month of 1:07:12 Safar. 1:07:15 Huh. 1:07:17 And that was truly like, you know, 1:07:19 going against the current. Likewise, he 1:07:25 went and married off his only daughter 1:07:29 who was still alive until he passed 1:07:32 away, namely Siti Fatimah. 1:07:36 With 1:07:37 Ali ibn Abi Thalib radhiallahu anhu, 1:07:39 also in the month of Safar. 1:07:42 Then he departed for migration, also in 1:07:44 the month of Safar. So he opposed the 1:07:47 entire custom that the month of Safar 1:07:51 is an unlucky month. Then there is a 1:07:56 hadith where he says it is not 1:08:00 justified to consider contagious 1:08:01 diseases as spreading on their own 1:08:03 without God's decree. It is also not 1:08:07 justified to believe in bad omens, nor 1:08:09 is it justified to believe in 1:08:11 misfortune due to a certain place, nor 1:08:13 is it justified to believe in bad luck 1:08:16 regarding a month. Specifically 1:08:19 regarding its mention. So if there is " 1:08:22 Rabu Wekasan"(the last Wednesday), it 1:08:23 is not allowed. Such an opinion is not 1:08:25 allowed because 1:08:27 um, what? doing good deeds on the last 1:08:30 Wednesday. Because on that Wednesday, 1:08:33 God will send down misfortune. It is 1:08:35 not allowed, it is not justified. If 1:08:38 you want to do good deeds, prayer, and 1:08:40 so on, please go ahead. But the reason 1:08:42 must not be because it is the last 1:08:44 Wednesday of the month of Safar. It is 1:08:46 not allowed, it is not justified. 1:08:48 Yes, it ends up being shirk. That is 1:08:51 shirk. Correct. 1:08:52 And that is very dangerous because God 1:08:55 does not send down misfortune on any 1:08:57 day. Just like other days, they are all 1:09:00 the same, they are blessings that God 1:09:02 bestows upon us all. So it is not 1:09:05 justified, the "Rabu Wekasan" and such, 1:09:07 which assumes that Wednesday is an 1:09:09 unlucky Wednesday and that God sends 1:09:11 down disasters; it is not justified, it 1:09:14 is not permitted. That is about it. 1:09:18 All right, Ustaz, we are constrained by 1:09:19 time, perhaps before we wrap up, could 1:09:21 you summarize our theme for today, 1:09:22 Ustaz? Very well, my brothers and 1:09:25 sisters, ladies and gentlemen whom God 1:09:27 has blessed. In the Quran, God has 1:09:30 chosen specific words that He uses, and 1:09:33 within them, they contain extraordinary 1:09:36 meaning. One of them tonight, we open 1:09:40 up a little bit about Surah Al-Buruj, 1:09:42 specifically the word 'buruj' mentioned 1:09:45 earlier. How truly immense God's 1:09:48 forgiveness is. And God's message is 1:09:53 for us to always come to Him, repent, 1:09:56 ask for forgiveness for our sins, and 1:09:59 constantly improve ourselves because 1:10:02 God provides such a vast facility for 1:10:05 repentance, a facility of love, and 1:10:08 God's forgiveness, which is as 1:10:11 incredibly vast as star clusters that 1:10:14 keep expanding, moving ever further 1:10:17 away from one another. That is roughly 1:10:21 how God's forgiveness for us never runs 1:10:24 out. Ladies and gentlemen, may God 1:10:26 bless you; hopefully, we are all among 1:10:29 those who constantly repent, improve 1:10:31 ourselves, and continue to increase our 1:10:34 faith and refine our faith before Allah 1:10:36 Subhanahu wa ta'ala. Wallahu a'lam 1:10:39 bish-shawab. Alright, alhamdulillah, we 1:10:42 have together listened to the evening's 1:10:44 Qur'anic reflection session with Ustadz 1:10:46 Doni Amir Sagap, discussing the theme 1:10:47 of God's forgiveness and the wonders of 1:10:49 astronomy. Hopefully, what the Ustadz 1:10:53 has conveyed provides many benefits for 1:10:55 me, the duty-holder Neza, and also 1:10:57 Yusufit; subhanakallahumma wabihamdika, 1:10:59 asyhadu alla ilaha illa anta, 1:11:01 astaghfiruka wa atubu ilaik. 1:11:03 Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi 1:11:05 wabarakatuh.
