0:00 Therefore, the statement of Ibn 0:02 Taymiyyah rahimahullah and his 0:04 followers, who say that shirk only 0:07 occurs in tawhid uluhiyah and does not 0:09 occur in rububiyah, is a fatal error 0:12 proven wrong by the Qur'an. In the name 0:30 of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most 0:32 Merciful. Peace be upon you, and 0:33 Allah's mercy and blessings. Is it true that shirk only 1:06 occurs in the realm of uluhiyah but not 1:09 in the realm of rububiyah? It will be 1:11 discussed later by Ustaz Husein and 1:13 Ustaz Hamzah Atas. Peace be upon you, 1:14 Ustaz Husein. 1:15 And peace be upon you, and Allah's 1:16 mercy. You 1:51 alone we worship, and You alone we ask 1:53 for help. Guide us to the straight path 1:59 . The path of those upon whom You have 2:06 bestowed favor, not of those who have 2:10 evoked [Your] anger or of those who are 2:12 astray. 2:20 Praise be to Allah. 2:22 We have read Al-Fatihah. May Allah make 2:24 it easy for us to understand what is 2:25 explained by our teachers. I seek 2:31 refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan 2:33 . In the name of Allah, the Most 2:34 Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be 2:38 to Allah, Lord of the worlds. Glory 3:00 be to You, we have no knowledge except 3:02 what You have taught us. Indeed, it is 3:04 You who is the All-Knowing, the Wise. 3:06 And there is no power and no strength 3:08 except by Allah, the Exalted, the 3:10 Almighty. O Allah, grant us mercy from 3:13 Yourself, and grant us knowledge from 3:15 Your side, and benefit us with what You 3:17 have taught us. O Allah, we seek refuge 3:22 in You from associating anything with 3:24 You that we know, and we ask Your 3:25 forgiveness for what we do not know. 3:33 Furthermore, brothers and sisters, 3:34 listeners and viewers of Radio TV 3:36 Silaturrahim, wherever you are. To all 3:41 Muslim men and women, and also the 3:43 entire extended family of Rasil Radio 3:49 TV Silaturahim. Likewise, all the staff 3:53 who are with us or in the studio. Ustaz 3:57 Hamzah bin Atas Alattas who is 3:58 accompanying us. Ustaz Muhammad Krishna 4:03 , our guests Ustaz Junaidi, Ustaz Isa, 4:06 Kang Rizal Atep, and colleagues. To the 4:11 entire human family who come from the 4:13 same father and mother, who were 4:15 created by the same God, and who 4:17 receive the same favors and blessings, 4:22 who are tested by Allah Subhanahu wa 4:24 ta'ala in this worldly life with the 4:26 choices that Allah gives. Are they 4:30 ready to serve Allah, or conversely, do 4:32 they turn away from Allah and dedicate 4:35 their lives to their own desires? May 4:39 Allah include us among those who 4:42 dedicate our lives with everything 4:44 Allah has given us in obedience and for 4:47 the pleasure of Allah Subhanahu wa 4:49 ta'ala. Amen, O Lord of the worlds. The 4:54 theme of our study this morning is a 4:59 continuation of our study regarding the 5:01 three fundamental principles (Al-Usul 5:03 al-Thalathah). The principles 5:06 three are tawhid uluhiyah, tawhid 5:12 rububiyah, and tawhid in al-asma 5:14 wa-s-sifat. is the subtitle. Is it true 5:24 that shirk (polytheism) only occurs in 5:27 the realm of uluhiyah (divinity), and 5:30 not in the realm of rububiyah (lordship 5:32 )? Sheikh Ibn Taymiyyah, along with his 5:40 like-minded colleagues and many of his 5:45 followers, believed that all 5:48 polytheists acknowledge that Allah is 5:52 their Creator and their Rabb (Lord). 5:56 Allah is the Creator and the Rabb who 5:59 nurtures and manages their affairs. 6:03 Whether they are polytheists from the 6:05 Arabs or those outside the Arab nations 6:07 . They then assert that shirk only 6:12 happens in the realm of uluhiyah. 6:15 Meaning, in the acts of worship towards 6:17 Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. Is this 6:20 correct? The answer is rejected by the 6:26 Quran. Why, ladies and gentlemen? 6:31 Because just as humans fall into shirk 6:34 in the realm of uluhiyah, they also 6:36 fall into it in the realm of rububiyah. 6:42 For example, Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala 6:47 says in Surah At-Tawbah, verses 30-31. 6:53 Allah says, "Waqalatil yahudu Uzairun 6:57 ibnullah." The Jews say that Uzair is 7:01 the son of God. "Waqalat-in-nasara 7:07 al-masih." The Christians say the 7:11 Messiah is the son of God. "Dhalika 7:17 qawluhum bi-afwahihim." That is their 7:20 statement with their mouths, without 7:23 basis or evidence supporting their 7:25 words. "Yudahi'una qalladhina kafaru 7:29 min qabl." This statement of theirs 7:33 actually mimics and follows the 7:36 disbelievers before them who believed 7:41 in the trinity; there is a similarity 7:47 to the Trimurti, there is a similarity 7:49 to what was worshipped as deities. 7:54 Which deities? Roman deities, the 7:57 Romans, yes, as well as the Greeks and 8:00 other nations who associated partners 8:02 with Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. " 8:10 Qatalahumullahu anna yu'fakun." May 8:13 they be cursed. How they are deluded 8:16 away from Allah, their true Lord, who 8:22 is what? Who begets not, nor is He 8:25 begotten; the One True God. Where the 8:28 universe and all its contents are under 8:30 His government, under the supervision 8:33 of His authority. There is not a single 8:36 thing that moves or remains still 8:38 except that it is under the control and 8:40 supervision of Allah Subhanahu wa 8:43 ta'ala. Until Allah says, "Innallaha 8:48 yumsikus-samawati wal-arda an tazula."" 8:52 Wa la'in zalata in amsakahuma min 8:55 ahadin min ba'dih." Indeed, it is Allah 9:01 who holds the heavens, this heaven with 9:04 all its astonishing existence, with its 9:07 many galaxies. Each galaxy consists of 9:11 billions, even trillions of stars. All 9:15 are held and managed by Allah. If Allah 9:18 were to abandon these heavens and this 9:19 earth, they would experience 9:20 destruction. From the smallest insect 9:25 to the stars in the sky, nothing 9:28 escapes the supervision of Allah 9:30 Subhanahu wa ta'ala. If Allah were to 9:34 leave them, this universe would surely 9:36 collapse. So we see, "Qatalahumullahu 9:44 anna yu'fakun." May they be cursed, may 9:49 they be destroyed. How they are turned 9:52 away from such clear truth. After that, 9:56 what? "Ittakhadhu ahbarahum wa 10:00 ruhbanahum arbaban min dunillah." They 10:05 took their rabbis—those Jewish 10:07 priests—and their monks—those 10:09 Christian priests—as what? As lords 10:14 besides Allah. We see Allah uses the 10:16 plural form here. They believe that 10:22 Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala is the 10:24 Creator of the universe. But what? But 10:29 they also believe in their hearts, 10:31 without us evaluating its correctness, 10:33 that what? They believe without 10:36 realizing it. these abilities and 10:40 powers of the "Rabb" become minor gods. 10:43 Besides the Almighty God, there are 10:45 minor gods who can help with their 10:47 affairs. Therefore, they offer their 10:50 worship and their petitions to these 10:52 gods. In Chinese mythology, we know 11:00 there are gods, what kind of gods? A 11:03 creator god, a god of virtue, a god of 11:07 evil. We see there is a god of evil, a 11:11 creator god. Yes, in Islam, there is no 11:14 such thing. The entire universe is 11:18 subject to the authority of Allah. 11:22 Angels are sent by Allah as messengers, 11:25 not as gods. We do not offer our 11:28 petitions or our hopes to them. They 11:30 carry out Allah's commands, but all are 11:32 under Allah's control. "And we descend 11:35 not except by the command of your Lord; 11:37 to Him belongs what is before us and 11:38 what is behind us and what is in 11:40 between, and your Lord is never 11:41 forgetful." We do not descend except by 11:44 the command of our Lord. So the angels 11:49 do not work on their own. The coming 11:51 and going of angels is by Allah's 11:53 command; He controls what is before us 11:55 and behind us. Everything or anything 11:59 concerning what? Concerning our lives. 12:05 "And your Lord is never forgetful." And 12:07 your Lord is never forgetful at all. If 12:10 we pray to Allah, what does Allah not 12:13 say? "I delegate your needs to a 12:16 certain angel." Ladies and gentlemen, 12:27 people before Islam in our country 12:29 believed in the sun god, the wind god, 12:32 the lightning god. Yes, they had needs, 12:36 right? To what did they pray? To the 12:40 gods they worshipped. There is a rain 12:43 god; when they experienced drought, 12:45 they offered sacrifices and offerings 12:47 to what? To the god in question. And 12:51 they would not do this if they did not 12:53 believe it would provide them benefit. 13:00 On the south coast, how many people 13:02 still offer sacrifices to Nyai Roro 13:05 Kidul? We even see in hotels, room 13:10 number so-and-so does not exist at all. 13:13 Why? Because they say it is the 13:15 residence of Nyai Roro Kidul. If they 13:22 did not believe that all this provides 13:25 benefits and keeps them away from 13:28 danger, they would never do it. Only a 13:32 madman would do something believed to 13:35 be of no benefit. Even though their 13:37 belief is wrong and falls into the 13:39 category of delusion. Right? In our 13:44 society, there are still many people 13:46 who give offerings to ancestors. Even 13:50 offerings to trees, and offerings to 13:54 graves as well. Would they do this if 14:00 they did not believe there was a 14:01 benefit? Now, these are the "Rabb" they 14:05 have set up besides Allah. Not the true 14:08 Rabb. The Rabb they have set up, 14:10 created by their own imagination. 14:13 Therefore, Allah reminds us in the 14:16 Quran, "Inna rabbakumullah." You must 14:20 know your Rabb is Allah. Allah does not 14:25 delegate the receiving of prayers to 14:27 certain angels. There are angels, let's 14:30 say, tasked with bringing down rain. 14:32 There are other angels tasked with what 14:34 ? Sending the wind. Then Allah 14:38 commanded, "Go ahead, ask the angel of 14:40 rain or the angel of wind." No. or seek 14:42 protection from lightning. Go ahead, 14:45 seek protection from the god of 14:46 lightning so it does not strike you. 14:48 No. Subhanalladzi yusabbihu bihamdihi 14:50 wal malaikatu min khifatih. Because of 14:54 the deviations that occurred among 14:56 humans, they set up lords besides Allah 15:02 or alongside Allah whom they worship, 15:04 they set up lords whom they worship. 15:08 Deviations occurred in what? In 15:11 Rububiyah (Lordship). Whereas Rububiyah 15:13 , just like Uluhiyah (Divinity), is 15:16 what? Allah's. Inna 15:19 rabbakumullahulladzi yuzji lakumul 15:21 fulka. Even in steering ships across 15:25 the ocean, it is your Lord who does it. 15:30 It is not handed over to the angel of 15:32 the ocean. Not at all. Angels carry out 15:36 commands when we pray, we pray directly 15:38 to Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. After 15:44 that, what does Allah continue with? 15:45 Ittakhadzu ahbarahum wa ruhbanahum 15:48 arbaban min dunillah. They took their 15:52 scholars, the Jewish rabbis. As well as 15:58 their monks as lords besides Allah. 16:04 Then it continues wal Masih ibna Maryam 16:10 . Just as they made their priests lords 16:14 besides Allah, they also made the 16:16 Messiah, son of Mary, who should be a 16:18 prophet and messenger, a Lord as well. 16:22 They directed their prayers to the 16:24 Messiah, yes, which they should have 16:25 directed to Allah. As happened in the 16:28 Christian and Jewish teachings, it also 16:30 happens in the Muslim community. Our 16:33 Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi 16:35 wasallam was sent bringing a message 16:37 from Allah inviting us all to worship 16:40 Allah. Allah does not permit us to 16:42 worship His prophet. He is a noble 16:43 prophet and messenger. But not what? 16:47 Not the object of worship that Allah 16:48 commanded us to worship. So, ahbarahum 16:53 arbaban min dunillah wal Masih ibna 16:56 Maryam. Continued. Wa ma umiru illa 17:04 liya'budu ilahan wahida. Whereas they 17:07 were not commanded but to worship only 17:09 one 17:10 ilah (god), just as there is one Rabb ( 17:13 Lord), namely Allah. Likewise, they 17:16 were only commanded to worship one ilah 17:18 , namely Allah. And Allah emphasizes 17:22 that this is one inseparable unity 17:24 between Rububiyah and Uluhiyah. Between 17:29 Rububiyah and Uluhiyah. Inna 17:31 rabbakumulladzi khalaqakum... 17:33 dhalikumullahu rabbukum fa'buduh. That 17:36 is Allah. The one who is your Rabb who 17:38 manages, who takes care of your various 17:40 affairs. Therefore, if we pray to Allah 17:45 in Indonesia, others are praying in 17:47 Africa, others in America, others in 17:50 Europe, in Indonesia how many people 17:52 are praying? Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala 17:58 will grant their requests at the same 18:00 time. Allah does not say, "One by one, 18:03 line up," no. Allah also does not say, 18:07 "O Gabriel, grant so-and-so's prayer. O 18:09 Michael, grant so-and-so's prayer." No. 18:11 Yas'aluhu man fis-samawati wal-ardi 18:13 kulla yawmin huwa fi sha'n. Because of 18:18 their wrong understanding regarding 18:20 Rububiyah, they finally deviated in 18:22 Uluhiyah. Next what does Allah say? Wa 18:30 ma umiru illa liya'budu ilahan wahida. 18:33 La ilaha illa hu. There is no ilah 18:35 besides Allah. Subhanahu 'amma 18:38 yusyrikun. Exalted is Allah above all 18:41 that they associate with Him, both in 18:43 Rububiyah and in Ilahiyah or Uluhiyah. 18:46 And we need to clarify that this term " 18:48 uluhiyah" was not known during the time 18:49 of the Prophet nor the companions. What 18:51 was known were the terms "ilah" and " 18:53 Allah." They should have used the word 18:55 "ilahiyah" instead of "uluhiyah." But " 18:59 ilahiyah" does not carry the meaning 19:01 they intend. It means servitude. " 19:04 Ilahiyah" means divinity. Now, let us 19:09 continue to another verse. When Prophet 19:13 Yusuf was in prison, he met two men 19:16 living with him, and each had a dream. 19:21 Finally, because they saw Prophet 19:22 Yusuf's righteous face, they asked for 19:24 an interpretation of their dreams. 19:27 Before he answered, he provided 19:30 education. This is a primary teaching 19:32 so that they would not misplace their 19:35 regard for Yusuf. 19:37 Because when people have abnormal 19:39 abilities, what often happens? 19:42 They are deified. 19:43 Treated as gods. Is that right? 19:47 What did Prophet Ibrahim say? 19:48 Prophet Yusuf. 19:49 Prophet Yusuf. "Inni taraktu millata 19:51 qawm," from the previous verse, 37, in 19:54 the middle. "Inni taraktu millata 19:57 qawmin la yu'minuna billahi wahum bil 19:59 akhirati hum kafirun." I have left 20:02 behind a people who do not believe in 20:05 what? Who do not believe in Allah and 20:09 they deny the hereafter. "Wattaba'tu 20:13 millata aba'i Ibrahima wa Ishaqa wa 20:16 Ya'qub." And I follow the way of life 20:21 left by my ancestors, Ibrahim, Ishaq, 20:25 and Ya'qub. "Ma kana lana an nushrika 20:30 billahi min shay'." It is impossible 20:34 for us to associate anything with Allah 20:36 . "Wa lakinna aktharan nasi la 20:40 yashkurun." But most people are not 20:43 grateful to Allah. "Ya sahibayis-sijn." 20:50 O two fellow prisoners, the phrase "ya 20:54 sahibayis-sijn" means O my two 20:57 companions who are imprisoned here with 21:00 me. "A'arbabun mutafarriquna khayrun 21:06 amillahu al-wahidul-qahhar." Which do 21:09 you think is better? Allah, the One, 21:13 the Sole. Or various different "Rabb"( 21:16 lords)? If it is Allah, the One, we 21:20 direct our prayers to Him, seek refuge 21:22 in Him, hope in Him, and everything is 21:25 under His authority. Do we go to 21:29 various different "Rabb" that make us 21:32 spend a lot of wealth, only to become a 21:35 game of ignorance? Which is better? " 21:38 Arbabun mutafarriqun." The word "arbab" 21:41 is used here. The plural of "Rabb." 21:45 This shows that shirk (polytheism) also 21:47 happens in "rububiyah," just as it 21:49 happens in " 21:50 uluhiyah." Which do you think is better 21:53 ? Various "Rabb" that manage your 21:56 affairs, forcing you to turn your faces 21:59 toward many different kinds of "Rabb."" 22:05 Amillahu al-wahidul-qahhar," or Allah, 22:07 the One, the Almighty. Where everyone 22:10 is subject to the authority of Allah. 22:12 These "Rabb" only govern certain 22:15 domains—in their view, there is a 22:17 domain for rain, lightning, wind, or 22:20 fertility. Is that right? 22:22 If Allah encompasses all domains, which 22:24 one do you think is better? 22:26 Allah. 22:27 Allah. 22:27 When we turn to Allah, we do not 22:29 experience confusion. Therefore, Allah 22:32 once gave a parable, of a slave owned 22:39 by one master, versus a slave owned by 22:42 several masters who are at odds. A 22:46 slave working for one master is not 22:48 confused. He only knows to seek the 22:51 thousands of the one God. But one that 22:53 is owned by several partners. If you 22:56 obey A, then B orders you elsewhere. 23:00 Listen to B, then C issues another 23:02 order. What is the result? He 23:04 experiences confusion in trying to 23:05 please them all. The same applies to 23:07 those who worship lords other than 23:09 Allah. Allah is All-Rich and needs 23:12 nothing, while the lords they worship 23:14 require offerings. Isn't that right? So 23:20 , are they divided lords? Are various 23:24 lords who are split apart? Better or 23:27 Allah, the One, the Irresistible? Is it 23:33 Allah, the One and the Almighty? You do 23:37 not worship besides Him except names 23:40 you have named. Truly, what you worship 23:46 are names you have invented. And given 23:49 by your forefathers, never receiving 23:51 recommendation or permission from Allah 23:53 Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. So you create 23:57 something, then you worship it, and 23:58 then you elevate them as lords without 24:00 permission from Allah. Legislation is 24:06 not but for Allah. All decisions are in 24:09 the hands of Allah. He has commanded 24:11 that you worship not except Him. He 24:13 emphasizes, commanding not to worship 24:15 except only to Him. That is the correct 24:20 religion, but most of the people do not 24:23 know. That is the upright religion that 24:25 will straighten things out. But 24:28 unfortunately, most people do not know 24:30 this. Is it clear? 24:33 It is very clear that shirk not only 24:36 enters the realm of worship, but also 24:38 enters the realm of lordship. Now, 24:42 Subhanallah. Many Muslims assume that 24:47 if they ask directly to Allah, ask 24:50 directly to Allah because their sins 24:52 are so many, their prayers will not be 24:55 granted. Finally, they submit their 25:00 requests to creatures. 25:01 H 25:02 to 25:03 creatures. 25:04 Some come to the graves of righteous 25:06 people. The righteous person invites 25:08 people back to Allah, yet he submits 25:10 his requests to that righteous person. 25:13 To that righteous person, also what? 25:14 Asking Allah. Those righteous people, 25:19 those who died as martyrs, the prophets 25:21 —we believe that in their graves they 25:23 enjoy various provisions and gifts from 25:26 Allah. But Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala 25:30 does not permit us in our prayers to 25:32 offer prayers to them, but rather "Call 25:34 upon Me; I will answer you" and "When 25:36 My servants ask you concerning Me, 25:38 indeed I am near." Allah commands us to 25:41 follow them, the prophets, the apostles 25:44 , the saints who all invite us to Allah 25:47 . Until Allah in Surah Al-Isra says, " 25:50 Call upon those you claim besides Him." 25:56 "They do not possess the power to 25:58 remove harm from you or to change it." 26:01 Those whom they invoke, seek means of 26:03 access to their Lord. Seeking the 26:06 closest. Say, please go ahead and pray 26:13 to what? To those whom you claim are 26:18 able to grant your requests. They have 26:22 no power to remove harm or change it. 26:25 They are not capable of removing 26:27 distress from you or changing it. Even 26:30 what? Those they invoke, they seek 26:33 means of access to their Lord. Even 26:37 these, whether they are the angels, the 26:40 prophets, the apostles, the saints, 26:42 they are actually the ones who pray to 26:44 Allah. They seek a means to Allah with 26:49 means that Allah loves, that Allah is 26:51 pleased with, in order to draw closer 26:53 to Him. Which of them is nearer. 26:55 Striving to draw closer to Allah. And 27:01 they fear the punishment of Allah. So, 27:03 is it possible for a prophet or 27:05 messenger who invites us to worship 27:07 Allah to command what? For his 27:10 followers to worship him instead? Ma 27:12 kana libasharin an yu'tiyahullahu 27:14 al-kitaba wal-hukma No human being [ 27:19 would say this]. The Scripture of Allah 27:22 . It is impossible for Allah to grant 27:30 the Scripture and prophethood to a 27:33 human, a prophet. Ma kana libasharin an 27:39 yu'tiyahullahu al-kitaba wal-hukma 27:41 wan-nubuwwah. It is impossible for 27:45 Allah to give a person the Scripture, 27:47 authority, and prophethood. Only for 27:51 that person to suddenly say "Be 27:53 servants of me...""Be servants of mine, 27:56 instead of Allah." It is impossible. 27:59 That person would surely invite people 28:01 toward Allah. " 28:03 Walakin kunu rabbaniyyin.""But be 28:06 people of the Lord (Rabbaniyyin) who 28:08 accept the Scripture.""Bima kuntum 28:10 tu'allimunal-kitaba wa bima kuntum 28:12 tadrusun.""Because you teach the 28:15 Scripture and you study it." Therefore, 28:19 if we truly love the Prophet, we follow 28:21 his Sunnah and we send blessings upon 28:23 him. What glory does the Prophet lack? 28:26 Allah sends His blessings upon His 28:27 Messenger. The angels send their 28:28 blessings upon His Messenger. Then 28:30 Allah invites us to send blessings upon 28:32 the Prophet, peace be upon him. Look at 28:34 that. So, anyone other than Allah 28:38 Subhanahu wa Ta'ala is a creation of 28:42 Allah. Among them are noble beings who 28:45 never disobey Allah, like the holy 28:47 angels. Then the prophets, the 28:52 messengers who always obeyed Allah, and 28:54 the righteous who followed them, the 28:56 Prophet's companions and his family. 28:59 Among them are also those who rebel. So 29:01 , if we hold fast to the compass, the 29:06 journey of all the prophets and 29:08 messengers is to invite us to Allah, 29:11 until Allah commanded the Prophet to 29:13 announce: "Qul ya ahlal-kitabi ta'alau 29:15 ila kalimatin sawa'in baynana wa 29:17 baynakum.""O People of the Scripture, 29:21 let us come to a common word between us 29:24 and you.""An la na'buda illallah.""That 29:28 we worship none but Allah.""Wala 29:29 nushrika bihi shay'an.""And that we 29:32 associate nothing with Him." The 29:34 continuation is: "ba'dun.""And that 29:39 some of us do not take others as lords 29:42 besides Allah." Meaning, shirk occurs 29:46 in the realm of Rububiyyah (Lordship). 29:48 "Fa'in tawallaw." If they turn away. " 29:51 Faqulu-sh-hadu bi'anna muslimun." Say, 29:53 "Bear witness that we are those who 29:56 have submitted to Allah." So, if people 30:00 refuse to follow Allah's laws and the 30:03 guidance He sent in His Scripture, 30:06 replacing them with something else, 30:08 then those people have effectively 30:11 taken others as lords besides Allah. 30:17 Therefore, when we reached the verse in 30:19 Surah At-Tawbah, "They took their 30:20 rabbis and their monks as lords besides 30:22 Allah," Adi bin Hatim, a former 30:24 Christian and companion of the Prophet, 30:26 said, "O Messenger of Allah, we did not 30:27 worship them or take them as lords." 30:30 The Prophet replied, "You took them..." 30:35 "When they commanded you, set rules, 30:37 made the forbidden lawful, and the 30:38 lawful forbidden in contradiction to 30:40 what came from Allah, you followed them 30:42 .""You took them as lords besides Allah 30:46 ." Do we, as Muslims, do that? 30:50 No. 30:50 We do. We even prioritize books written 30:53 by humans over the book of Allah. If a 30:58 hadith book considered sahih contains a 31:00 hadith that contradicts the Quran, the 31:03 hadith is not adjusted to the Quran. 31:06 Instead, the Quran is adjusted to the 31:07 hadith. Whereas the Quran was narrated 31:09 with certainty from the side of Allah. 31:12 Meanwhile, hadiths were collected 31:14 hundreds of years later by fallible 31:16 human hands, unlike the Quran which was 31:18 collected by our Prophet Muhammad, may 31:21 Allah's peace and blessings be upon him 31:23 and his family. So it is very clear in 31:28 the Quran that shirk applies to 31:30 uluhiyah, it also applies to rububiyah, 31:34 including al-asma was-sifat. It also 31:39 occurs in the asma and sifat. When we 31:42 liken Allah to His creations in His 31:44 attributes, or names, it is the same. 31:47 Or when we attribute to creations 31:49 qualities that should belong to Allah, 31:52 what is that called? Associating 31:56 partners with Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala 31:58 in His names and attributes. So it 32:00 occurs in rububiyah, in uluhiyah, and 32:03 in asma and sifat. A wrong 32:05 understanding will also produce a wrong 32:08 attitude. If they are truly upright in 32:11 tawhid regarding rububiyah, God willing 32:13 , they will also be in tawhid regarding 32:15 uluhiyah. God willing, they will also 32:18 be able to understand the asma and 32:20 sifat as explained by the Quran. 32:22 Therefore, the teachings of Islam are 32:24 simple and easy. There is no difficulty 32:28 , no confusion. If we understand it 32:30 from the Quran, it is clear and easy. 32:32 Therefore, the statement of Ibn 32:34 Taymiyyah rahimahullah and his 32:37 followers who say shirk only occurs in 32:39 tawhid uluhiyah and does not occur in 32:42 rububiyah, is a fatal mistake proven by 32:45 the Quran. Then in what statement after 32:48 Allah and His signs will they believe? 32:50 Now, let us invite Ustaz Hamzah. 32:53 In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious 32:53 , the Most Merciful. O Allah, send 32:54 peace and blessings upon our master 32:56 Muhammad and the family of our master 32:57 Muhammad. It is already crystal clear 33:00 what was explained earlier about how we 33:03 must unify Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala in 33:06 everything. Be it in uluhiyah or 33:12 rububiyah and also in asma was-sifat. 33:19 Because Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala has 33:21 asserted that this is addinul khalis. 33:24 This is the religion and devotion that 33:26 is pure, that is sincere. Allah 33:28 Subhanahu wa ta'ala mentions in Surah 33:31 Az-Zumar, I seek refuge in Allah from 33:34 the accursed Satan. In the name of 33:35 Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most 33:37 Merciful. The revelation of the Book is 33:38 from Allah, the Almighty, the All-Wise. 33:42 Indeed, We have sent down to you the 33:44 Book in truth, so worship Allah, being 33:46 sincere to Him in religion. Allah 33:51 states that this Book was revealed by 33:53 Allah, Al-Aziz Al-Hakim, who is the 33:57 Almighty and All-Wise. Indeed, We have 34:01 revealed to you the Book. Indeed, We 34:04 have revealed to you the Book in truth. 34:09 So worship Allah, being sincere to Him 34:10 in religion. So worship Allah, being 34:13 sincere to Him in religion. Meaning, by 34:16 sincerely dedicating, cleansing, and 34:19 purifying devotion only to Allah in 34:21 every aspect. Yes, as what has been 34:25 explained earlier. So we know Allah, 34:27 who is Allah? Explained by the 34:31 rububiyah attributes earlier, all of 34:33 them and with His names, that is Allah 34:35 Subhanahu wa ta'ala. Who is Allah? 34:38 Allah is One, He begets not, nor is He 34:40 begotten, and there is none comparable 34:42 to Him. Who is Allah? Allah is the Lord 34:46 of the Worlds. The Most Gracious, the 34:48 Most Merciful, Master of the Day of 34:50 Judgment. That is Allah Subhanahu wa 34:51 ta'ala. Who is Allah? Allah is the 34:54 Creator of the heavens and the earth. 34:56 Who is Allah? Allah is the Ever-Living, 34:58 the Sustainer of existence. Neither 34:59 drowsiness nor sleep overtakes Him. 35:01 That is all of it. And Allah Subhanahu 35:04 wa taala, in various matters, also 35:07 governs, even governing, for example, 35:10 the oceans—*marajal bahrain yaltaqian 35:12 *—how the oceans are managed by Allah 35:15 Subhanahu wa taala, but also how the 35:18 movement of ships there is governed by 35:21 the power of Allah Subhanahu wa taala. 35:25 That is all part of the ability, part 35:27 of the power, within the authority of 35:29 Allah Subhanahu wa taala. So, in terms 35:34 of regulation, creation, protection, 35:36 and the determination of laws, it all 35:39 belongs to Allah Subhanahu wa taala. 35:43 Therefore, as it was explained earlier, 35:47 how the Jews or the Christians also 35:51 made their priests and scholars as 35:55 lords. Yes, because those priests 36:00 determined laws that contradicted what 36:04 was in the Torah or the Gospel. Then 36:08 they followed them. That also means 36:10 their devotion, their worship, was 36:13 directed toward those priests. And this 36:16 also means associating partners with 36:18 Allah in what aspect? This is*Rububiyah 36:20 *, the meaning of governing laws. The 36:23 determination of law is the authority 36:25 of Allah Subhanahu wa taala. But they 36:28 associated partners with Him here. Now, 36:31 this also means showing that there is* 36:34 shirk*(polytheism) within*Rububiyah*. 36:39 Whereas Allah Subhanahu wa taala states 36:42 in Surah Az-Zumar, *ala lillahiddinul 36:45 khalis*. Pure devotion is only for 36:49 Allah. Yes, therefore, in one narration 36:53 of a hadith, a hadith qudsi, Allah 36:55 Subhanahu wa taala says, "I am the most 36:58 self-sufficient of all those who are 37:01 worshipped. Whoever performs a deed and 37:07 associates anyone else with Me in it, I 37:09 leave him and his partner." Yes, as the 37:13 Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings 37:15 be upon him, said regarding his Lord, 37:17 Blessed and Exalted is He. So I—Allah 37:20 Subhanahu wa taala says in this hadith 37:23 qudsi— "I am the One who needs no 37:26 partners.""Whoever performs a deed and 37:32 associates others with Me, I leave him 37:35 with his partner." So, Allah does not 37:38 need it, and this deed of his will be 37:40 in vain. Now, this is why we are 37:44 commanded by Allah Subhanahu wa taala 37:48 to truly purify our devotion to Allah. 37:52 In Surah Al-Bayyinah, Allah mentions, " 37:54 And they were not commanded except to 37:55 worship Allah, [being] sincere to Him 37:57 in religion, inclining to truth, and to 38:02 establish prayer and give zakah." They 38:04 were not commanded except to worship 38:08 Allah. By being sincere, purifying 38:14 devotion only for Allah. Devotion only 38:18 for Allah means we unify Allah, we make 38:21 Him one in all aspects previously 38:24 mentioned. Whether in His divinity, or 38:30 in His governance (Rububiyah), or in 38:33 His names and attributes. And Allah 38:36 Subhanahu wa taala knows best. Let us 38:40 look at this as a conclusion. Ustaz 38:45 Hamzah just mentioned in Surah Az-Zumar 38:47 , *ala lillahiddinul khalis*. Know that 38:52 what is accepted, what is acknowledged, 38:56 what is welcomed by Allah is only* 38:59 ad-din al-khalis*. A sincere and pure 39:02 devotion not mixed with anything else. 39:08 Then Allah Subhanahu wa taala here 39:09 criticizes, criticizing the attitude of 39:15 those who take others besides Allah as 39:17 protectors and lords. *Wali*means 39:21 protector. *Walladzinattakhazu min 39:24 dunihi auliya. *Aulia has a meaning 39:26 almost similar to Rabb. Those who 39:31 appoint. Itakhadha yattakhidhu refers 39:34 to someone who appoints and creates 39:36 something. Itakhadha minadzahabi 39:40 khataman. Someone makes something out 39:43 of what? A ring out of gold. Originally 39:47 , it didn't exist at all, with no basis 39:49 . Who brought it into being? Us. 39:52 Walladzina ittakhadzu min dunihi auliya 39:54 . And those who appoint, who create, 39:57 who establish guardians besides Allah. 40:01 When asked why do you do this thing? 40:05 Because the one who establishes it is 40:06 not Allah who gives the recommendation. 40:09 It's not Allah, but them. Why do you do 40:11 it? Their answer: Ma na'buduhum illa 40:15 liyuqarribuna ilallahi zulfa. We do not 40:18 worship them. These guardians and minor 40:21 gods, except to bring us closer to 40:24 Allah. In their eyes, there is Allah, 40:27 the Almighty God, and then there are 40:29 minor gods. We do not worship them 40:37 except to bring us closer to Allah. 40:45 Then Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala answers, 40:47 "Innallaha yahkumu bainahum fima hum 40:48 fihi yakhtalifun." Allah will judge 40:51 between them regarding what they 40:53 dispute. Then Allah assesses their 40:55 words, "Innallaha la yahdi man huwa 40:58 kadhibun kaffar." Allah will not give 41:01 guidance to the liar or the disbeliever 41:03 . Because their words are lies. They 41:07 worship these objects of worship; if 41:08 they didn't feel they would gain some 41:10 benefit, it wouldn't be possible. So 41:13 their reason for worshipping is, they 41:15 claim, to draw themselves closer to 41:17 Allah. In their hearts, they are not 41:19 convinced by Allah, but convinced by 41:21 what? 41:23 Until there are some laypeople, it's a 41:25 pity. In Egypt, in the land of Al-Azhar 41:30 , many people come to Imam Hussein bin 41:33 Ali bin Abi Thalib. The Egyptian people 41:35 deeply love the Prophet's family. They 41:38 come to the tomb of Imam Hussein. There 41:41 are people wearing robes, some wearing 41:43 full suits. They put their hands inside 41:46 the grave, then put them into their 41:48 pockets. They put their hands in again, 41:50 put them in their pockets. They put 41:52 their hands in again, filling their 41:54 pockets. Someone reprimands, "Ma 41:56 fa'alta ya rajul?""What are you doing?" 41:59 He says, "I am collecting sustenance 42:01 from Imam Hussein." So he comes and 42:06 puts his hand in the grave as an effort 42:08 to get sustenance so his pockets are 42:10 full. Another person comes, "O Sayyidna 42:16 Hussein, my wife at home is struggling. 42:21 " My wife at home is in a difficult 42:25 state. She is about to give birth. 42:28 Please, what, help her. Finally, the 42:38 Sheikh next to him hears this; Sayyidna 42:40 Hussein just went to take care of 42:41 someone who is sick. Wait until he 42:43 returns. He said, "I'm in a hurry,"[to 42:46 which the reply is] pray to Allah 42:48 Ta'ala. Imam Hussein cannot possibly 42:51 handle all your affairs. Going here and 42:53 there, people asking for so much. What 42:56 I am conveying is not a joke or a story 42:58 . So this Sheikh gave him a lesson. He 43:01 didn't say, "You are a polytheist." No. 43:03 He was given a good lesson. What is 43:06 Sayyidna Hussein doing? He just went to 43:08 take care of someone else's affairs. 43:10 You wait. He said, "I'm in a hurry." If 43:12 you are in a hurry, ask Allah. Because 43:17 Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala is not 43:18 preoccupied with any affairs. 43:21 So we see these laypeople are to be 43:23 pitied and need education. Not to be 43:25 cursed, insulted, or called infidels. 43:26 Yes. 43:27 Not to be cursed, 43:28 insulted, and called infidels. Do not 43:32 ask from Imam Hussein. When you come to 43:34 Sayyidina Hussein, offer your greetings 43:36 to the Prophet’s family, then send 43:38 prayers upon the Prophet. After that, 43:40 ask Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. You pray 43:43 for Imam Hussein so that his rank is 43:45 elevated in the sight of Allah 43:46 Subhanahu wa ta'ala. You will receive 43:48 the same reward in return. So this 43:51 person's mistake, in this case, is due 43:54 to wrong understanding and education. 43:57 It needs correction and wisdom to 43:59 educate them so they know to whom they 44:01 should be asking. Likewise at the tomb 44:05 of Imam Shafi'i, if we see how many 44:08 people write letters and put them 44:10 in envelopes, placed into the tomb, 44:12 look. 44:13 Yes. 44:13 Placed into the Imam's tomb. Some throw 44:15 money, throw various things. He sends a 44:19 letter to Imam Shafi'i. We don't know 44:24 what the content is. What's clear is 44:26 that it is a request. Why doesn't he 44:28 ask Allah? Without needing to write and 44:29 go through all that trouble. O Allah, 44:30 Owner of Majesty and Honor, Owner of 44:33 Bounty and Bestowal, Owner of 44:35 Generosity and Kindness, O Originator, 44:37 O Restorer, O Most Forgiving, O Owner 44:40 of the Majestic Throne, O Doer of what 44:42 He wills. Isn't that very beautiful, 44:44 ladies and gentlemen? Therefore, God 44:46 willing, we will continue this in the 44:48 next study. Styles of supplication in 44:50 the Quran. The style of prayer taught 44:52 by the Quran which depicts how 44:53 beautiful Allah's education is. Angels 44:57 descend to deliver news from Allah, but 45:00 the prophets do not ask the angels. 45:03 Just one example. When Prophet Zakariya 45:08 witnessed whom? Maryam, who was so 45:13 amazing, receiving provision without 45:15 any apparent cause. Finally, at that 45:20 moment, immediately "Hunalika da'a 45:22 Zakariya." Zakariya prayed directly to 45:24 Allah. "Rabbi habli min ladunka..."" 45:28 Habli min ladunka zurriyyatan tayyibah, 45:31 innaka sami'ud-du'a." O my Lord, grant 45:34 me, O Allah, good offspring. You are 45:37 indeed the All-Hearing. What? The 45:39 All-Hearing. Who answers prayers. He 45:43 begs from All- 45:45 Allah. 45:45 But the one who comes is an angel, " 45:47 Fanadat-hul malaikatu wa huwa qa'imun 45:49 yusolli fil-mihrab." An angel came 45:52 calling Zakariya while he was praying 45:55 in his mihrab, the place where he 45:57 worships, sent by Allah. The angel said 46:02 Allah gives you good news. "Innallaha 46:05 yubashiruka bi Yahya musaddiqan bi 46:07 kalimatim""minallah..." and so on. 46:15 Allah gives you good news through the 46:17 angel as a messenger. You will have a 46:21 son who is directly named Yahya by 46:24 Allah. "Musaddiqan bi kalimatim 46:26 minallah." One who confirms the word of 46:29 Allah. What does that mean? One who 46:30 confirms the teachings of Allah 46:32 conveyed by previous prophets. "Wa 46:35 sayyidan"—a master. Zakariya is 46:38 mentioned as a master (sayyid). Is it 46:40 appropriate for our Prophet to hold the 46:41 title of Sayyid? 46:42 Appropriate. 46:42 Very. " 46:43 Wa nabiyyan minas-salihin." Someone who 46:47 truly guards himself in obedience to 46:49 Allah and a righteous prophet. Do we 46:52 see an angel next to him or not? Yes. 46:57 Zakariya did not say, "O Gabriel, 46:59 convey my greetings to Allah." He did 47:01 not. He said, "My Lord, how will I have 47:05 a boy?""While old age has overtaken me 47:11 and my wife is barren." O Allah. It was 47:13 not said. "O Gabriel, ask Allah for me, 47:15 " did he? Directly, "O Allah, how will 47:18 I have a child?""My wife is old and I 47:21 am barren." Wait, I am of old age and 47:24 my wife is barren. The angel answered. 47:29 "Thus Allah does what He wills." That 47:33 is how Allah does what He wills. The 47:36 angel answered. An intermediary, right? 47:38 But we must go to Allah. 47:40 That is the way. 47:41 If we must use an intermediary, what 47:43 happens? We would be finished before 47:44 our prayer is answered. Is that not 47:46 right? At sea with high waves, we call 47:49 out, "O Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jailani, O 47:52 Sheikh Saman." By the time they convey 47:55 it to Allah, we would be swallowed by 47:57 the waves first. Is that not right? But 47:59 call out "O Allah," we honor the saints 48:02 (aulia) of Allah, and they all guide us 48:04 to Allah. That is why they are called " 48:05 Waliullah"(friends of Allah) who guide 48:07 us to Allah. 48:07 Allah. The continuation is "Thus Allah 48:11 does what He wills." 48:14 Then Zakariya continued, "My Lord, 48:17 grant me a sign." He didn't say, "O 48:21 Gabriel," but rather, "My Lord, grant 48:23 me a sign," O Allah, give me a sign. " 48:28 Your sign is that you will not speak 48:30 for three days." So you see here how 48:34 from Allah to His servants, not 48:36 everyone is spoken to directly. This is 48:39 called the station of majesty and 48:41 greatness. But from us to Allah, the 48:44 station of servitude and prayer must be 48:46 directed to Allah. From the servant, 48:49 the station of servitude, not everyone 48:51 is spoken to directly by Allah. 48:54 Therefore, among the servants, some are 48:56 spoken to directly by Allah, like the 48:58 Prophet Musa, and our Prophet Muhammad, 49:00 who was taken on the Isra and Mi'raj. 49:04 So no matter how high the status of a 49:06 prophet and how noble the messengers of 49:08 determination are, including our 49:09 Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. 49:12 They never invited us to pray or appeal 49:15 to them, but they invited us, as did 49:18 the saints, the friends of Allah, to 49:21 always turn our faces towards Allah, 49:24 joining with the prophets and their 49:27 saints. So we find the Quranic style in 49:29 prayer to be very beautiful. Maryam 49:33 also, when the angel came to give glad 49:38 tidings. "I am a messenger from your 49:41 Lord.""How will I have a boy?" Pay 49:49 close attention. "O my Lord, how will I 49:52 have a child when no man has touched me 49:53 ?" even though who was in front of her? 49:56 Gabriel. Likewise in Surah Al-Imran. " 49:59 Indeed, Allah gives you glad tidings."" 50:04 O Maryam, indeed Allah has chosen you." 50:08 She immediately said what? "My Lord."" 50:14 How will I have a child when no man has 50:18 touched me?" Answered by Allah, He said 50:23 , through Gabriel, right? "Thus Allah 50:26 creates what He wills." Thus Allah. So 50:30 Gabriel is answering, "He creates." So 50:32 we see the dialogue is to Allah, but 50:35 the news arrives from Gabriel, and 50:37 Gabriel is still before her. Just 50:40 imagine. So this beautiful Quranic 50:42 education does not mean we are 50:44 belittling the Prophet. We have an 50:46 extraordinary love for the Prophet. We 50:48 want to be gathered with him. We send 50:50 blessings upon him and follow his 50:52 sunnah. But when praying, "Call upon Me 50:55 ; I will respond to you," and "And it 50:56 has already been revealed to you and to 50:58 those before you that if you should 51:00 associate [anything] with Allah, your 51:02 work would surely become worthless, and 51:04 you would surely be among the losers. 51:06 Rather, worship [only] Allah and be 51:08 among the grateful." So the style of 51:11 the Quran is truly beautiful. Hopefully 51:13 , God willing, in the coming period, 51:16 this will be something truly vital. 51:20 Hopefully, we can explain it repeatedly 51:21 , with all examples taken from the 51:23 Noble Quran. Would you like to add 51:25 anything else? 51:26 Adding. 51:28 Enough. 51:29 Okay. Very well. Praise be to God. Thus 51:32 , we have just listened to such a 51:34 beautiful explanation, haven't we? 51:37 Hopefully, we do not slip into wrong 51:38 understandings. We rely only on Allah, 51:41 and we are guided by the Quran. 51:43 Alright, thank you all for your 51:45 attention. We will meet again next week 51:47 . I am Muhammad Krisna Anis Mualim, 51:49 along with Yusuf Bangkit and Fahri, we 51:51 take our leave. Wabillahi taufiq wal 51:53 hidayah. Wasalamualaikum warahmatullahi 51:54 wabarakatuh.
