- In the name of Allah. In the name of
- Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most
- Merciful. May the peace, mercy, and
- blessings of Allah be upon you.
- And upon you be peace and the mercy of
- Allah.
- O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family
- of Muhammad. Praise be to Allah, we
- meet again today at the residence of
- Ustaz Husin Alatas for our reflection
- session under the shade of the Quran.
- We will continue yesterday's study of
- the verses from Surah Al-Hadid. Praise
- be to Allah, Ustaz Husin is already
- here with us. Peace be upon you, Ustaz
- Husin.
- And peace be upon you, and the mercy of
- Allah.
- Right, let us begin this session by
- reciting Al-Fatihah.
- I seek refuge in Allah from Satan, the
- accursed. In the name of Allah, the
- Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. All
- praise is due to Allah, Lord of the
- worlds. The Most Gracious, the Most
- Merciful. Master of the Day of Judgment
- . You alone we worship, and You alone
- we ask for help. Guide us to the
- straight path. The path of those upon
- whom You have bestowed favor. Not of
- those who have evoked [Your] anger or
- of those who are astray. In the name of
- Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most
- Merciful. Whatever is in the heavens
- and earth exalts Allah. And He is the
- Exalted in Might, the Wise. To Him
- belongs the dominion of the heavens and
- the earth; He gives life and causes
- death. And He is over all things
- competent. He is the First and the Last
- , the Manifest and the Hidden, and He
- is, of all things, Knowing. It is He
- who created the heavens and the earth
- in six days, then established Himself
- above the Throne. He knows what
- penetrates into the earth and what
- emerges from it and what descends from
- the heaven and what ascends therein.
- And He is with you wherever you are,
- and Allah, of what you do, is Seeing.
- To Him belongs the dominion of the
- heavens and the earth, He causes the
- night to enter the day and causes the
- day to enter the night, and He is
- Knowing of that within the breasts.
- Believe in Allah and His Messenger and
- spend out of that in which He has made
- you successors. For those who have
- believed among you and spent, there
- will be a great reward. And why do you
- not believe in Allah while the
- Messenger invites you to believe in
- your Lord and He has taken your
- covenant, if you should [truly] believe
- ? It is He who sends down upon His
- Servant verses of clear evidence to
- bring you out from darknesses into the
- light. And indeed, Allah is to you Kind
- and Merciful. And why do you not spend
- in the cause of Allah, while to Allah
- belongs the heritage of the heavens and
- the earth? Not equal among you are
- those who spent before the conquest and
- fought. Those are greater in degree
- than they who spent afterwards and
- fought. And to all, Allah has promised
- the best [reward]. And Allah, with what
- you do, is Acquainted. Who is it that
- would loan Allah a goodly loan? Who is
- it that would loan Allah a goodly loan
- so He will multiply it for him and he
- will have a noble reward? Allah the
- Almighty has spoken the truth. And His
- noble Messenger has testified. And we
- are among the witnesses of that. To
- proceed. Brothers and sisters,
- listeners and viewers of Silaturahim
- Radio and TV, our brother Ustaz
- Muhammad Kresna, Ondi, all the crew
- members working in the studio, the
- scholars who struggle through the media
- of Silaturahim Radio or TV and those
- who contribute to fighting for the
- continuity of this preaching, may Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala accept all our
- deeds. First, I greet you with the
- peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah.
- In our previous reflection, we together
- contemplated several verses from Surah
- Al-Hadid. Starting from the first verse
- , which explains a very important truth
- , a very magnificent truth, a very
- noble truth, and also a very profound
- one. It does not speak about something
- on a small scale or limited. But it
- speaks about the universe and all that
- is within it. Mas Krishna. Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala explains how all
- existence in the heavens and on earth,
- both the small and the large, both
- those of the past that still exist
- today or those yet to come. Whether
- humans, jinn, angels, animals, plants,
- whether they dwell on land, in the sea,
- or fly in the air. All of them glorify,
- sanctify, and exalt Allah. All of them
- testify that there is no God but Allah.
- He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.
- Whatever is in the heavens and earth
- exalts Allah, and He is the All-Mighty,
- the All-Wise. His is the dominion of
- the heavens and the earth. He gives
- life and causes death, and He is over
- all things competent. Everything
- testifies that it belongs to Allah,
- everything that exists in the heavens
- and on earth. The entire kingdom of the
- heavens and the earth belongs only to
- Allah, Subhanahu wa ta'ala. La
- sharikalah. He has no partner. He gives
- life and causes death. He is also the
- One who grants life to all His
- creations. This includes us, whether we
- are common citizens or high-ranking
- officials, the weak or the strong, the
- rich or the poor. Our entire lives
- originate from Allah. When the time
- comes, Allah will take that life back.
- Then Allah will ask us to account for
- our deeds as the stewards placed upon
- this earth. So be careful, O mankind,
- and prepare yourselves to face that
- time and event which we cannot possibly
- avoid. He is the First and the Last,
- the Manifest and the Hidden, and He is
- Knowing of all things. So, the entire
- kingdom of the heavens and the earth
- belongs to Him. He is the One who
- grants life and death. Wahua ala
- kulliin qadir. And He is capable over
- all things. Nothing escapes His power.
- Whatever He wills, it will surely
- happen. But that which He does not will
- , will not happen. He is the First and
- the Last. He is the First before the
- existence of anything. And He is the
- One who initiates all things, while He
- has no beginning. And the Last, He is
- also the Last, after the extinction and
- destruction of all things; just as
- everything originates from Him and
- depends on Him, everything will return
- to Allah. Then they must account for
- all their deeds. The Manifest and the
- Hidden. And His existence is the most
- apparent and the most clear. Because
- the existence of the heavens and the
- earth depends on Him. If He were to
- abandon them, the heavens and the earth
- would surely meet their destruction.
- Thus, the heavens and the earth with
- their order, so beautiful and wise,
- point to their All-Wise Organizer.
- Likewise, their interconnectedness with
- one another. Their unity and harmony
- show that the One who organizes and
- creates them is One. La sharikalah.
- There is no partner for Him. If there
- were a possibility of two or three gods
- in the heavens or on earth, there would
- be a battle between the ruling gods,
- which would result in the destruction
- of the heavens, the earth, and all that
- is within them. Had there been within
- them deities besides Allah, they both
- would have been ruined. This is a
- logical consequence. If there were gods
- in the heavens and on earth other than
- Allah, they would certainly suffer ruin
- . He is the First and the Last. The
- Manifest and the Hidden. He is the most
- apparent, the most clear, but at the
- same time, The Hidden. He is also the
- One who is hidden from our senses due
- to the limitations of our senses.
- Whereas Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala, who
- is Most Great and Exalted, is not an
- object, substance, or matter that can
- be reached by our senses. Because our
- senses are only designed to reach
- things that are material. While our
- hearing and our eyes are completely
- incapable of perceiving Him. Likewise
- with the whispers of our hearts, the
- whispers of every human's soul or
- spirit, our two eyes are unable to see
- them. Not because God is unclear.
- Because the entire existence in the
- universe points to God. But at the same
- time, He is hidden from our sight and
- our other senses. Because He is not a
- substance similar to us, or to the
- beings found in the universe. He is
- Al-Khaliq, the Creator who created
- everything, and also created space and
- time for His creations. He also created
- forms and shapes in the most beautiful
- way. Whereas He is "Laisa kamithlihi
- shay'un wahuwa as-sami'ul-basir." He
- does not resemble anything, neither
- what is in the heavens nor on the earth
- . The relationship between God and this
- universe is the relationship between
- the Creator and His creations. The
- relationship between the Almighty and
- His weak servants who are in need of
- Him. The relationship between the
- All-Wealthy and His poor servants, the
- All-Perfect and His imperfect servants;
- so come to God. Your Lord, O mankind,
- you will find your hopes and desires
- there. "Huwal-awwalu wal-akhiru
- waz-zahirul-batinu wahuwa bikulli
- shay'in 'alim." Even though He is
- beyond the reach of our senses, He is
- All-Knowing of everything. Including
- the whispers of our hearts, the
- direction of our gaze, what we hear,
- what we feel, what we think, and what
- we imagine, all are known by God. After
- that, God explains that the origin of
- the existence of the universe and all
- its contents comes from God. It is He
- who created it. "Huwalladzi
- khalaqas-samawati wal-arda fi sittati
- ayyam." It is He who created the
- heavens with all their systems, with
- their stars and galaxies. Likewise, He
- created the earth with everything that
- exists within it. "Fi sittati ayyam."
- In six periods, six days, in six stages
- . And these stages do not limit God's
- power. He has the power to create with
- "Kun faya-kun." So everything will
- happen and be created. But through
- these stages, humans are taught to
- learn. The stages of human creation in
- the womb show the wonder of God's
- creation from a drop, sperm, and egg
- derived from the essence of food
- consumed by our parents. Fertilization
- occurs in the womb, forming such an
- amazing being: our very selves. But
- unfortunately, we often view ourselves
- as objects of pride and arrogance,
- rather than as signs of Allah Subhanahu
- wa ta'ala showing His greatness. He
- created the heavens and earth in six
- stages, in six periods, as a lesson and
- education for us. Then He did not
- abandon the universe He created, but He
- governs it. He is Al-Hakim, the only
- Ruler in the universe who decides and
- determines everything. His decisions
- apply to all His creations. As for
- humans, as God's stewards, by His will,
- He gives us freedom of choice, but
- within limited boundaries and scope.
- Not everything we desire will happen,
- but everything we do with our choices
- and our freedom, that is what we will
- be held accountable for before God. How
- weak humans are. Let alone the universe
- , speaking of Earth in the middle of
- this universe, it is a speck of dust or
- even smaller, let alone the creatures
- found within it. Therefore, the glory
- of God's creatures on this earth is not
- because of their size, not because of
- their position, because all in God's
- eyes are insignificant creatures. But
- they will have meaning when they are
- grateful to their Lord, when they
- glorify their Lord, when they
- appreciate the greatness of His majesty
- . fahuair lahub. As for those creatures
- who do not appreciate God's greatness,
- who do not respect the rules and laws
- that come from Him, they are more
- wretched than animals or even small
- insects. Because insects still
- recognize their Lord and glorify Him,
- while those who are given blessings are
- ungrateful, arrogant, and haughty. We
- do not need to be in a hurry. The time
- will come for everyone to receive the
- punishment for their deeds unless they
- repent. Therefore, let us get used to
- not glorifying creatures because of
- their wealth, position, influence, or
- status. But let us value faith, piety,
- and righteous deeds, encouraging
- everyone to compete in goodness. But
- because of our appreciation for wealth
- and position, people eventually race to
- obtain them, thinking that with these
- they will gain honor among humans. We
- are also the ones who plunge them into
- this. Al-Arsh. It does not mean that
- God sits on the Throne as a king sits
- on a throne. Because God is
- All-Sufficient and does not need a
- place to—for what? for Him to sit.
- Moreover, that place is God's creation.
- Therefore, Imam Ali said, "Ma
- khalaqallahul arsya makaman lidzatihi."
- God did not create the Throne as a
- place for His Essence. Wakinnallaha
- khalaqal arsyaharomati. But God created
- the Throne to show the greatness of His
- majesty. From the Throne, the greatness
- of God's majesty is manifest. God's
- commands are conveyed to His angels.
- There is not a single angel that is not
- tasked with carrying out what God
- commands. God sends them down to earth
- and they return to God's presence in
- one day equivalent to 1,000 years. am
- minaiium. Therefore, let us never
- assume that God is oblivious. God
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala does not close His
- eyes to our deeds. Two angels continue
- to record and write down our deeds. God
- watches over us one by one. It does not
- mean the angels report to God what He
- does not know, but the angels record as
- witnesses so that humans cannot deny
- their actions. Therefore, for those
- whose hearts feel that God is with them
- , that He is close to them, watching
- their deeds, and they are careful, when
- they call upon God, God Subhanahu wa
- ta'ala will quickly respond to them.
- But those whose hearts do not feel
- God's presence and do not respect Him,
- such people are considered like
- something vain and meaningless. So your
- existence, O human, your meaning is not
- in your wealth, not in your status, not
- in your face and appearance, but in
- your faith, your piety, and your
- reverence for Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala
- . I do not feel envious seeing people
- who are rich, who have greatness. In
- fact, my heart is not interested in
- receiving their gifts. Our hearts
- prefer to give, not to receive except
- from Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. When we
- give, we feel happy because we are
- channeling Allah's blessings to His
- servants. But when we receive from
- created beings, not as a reward for
- something we gave them, we feel that we
- are truly small. Therefore, the joy of
- giving is far more beautiful than the
- joy of receiving. Especially if the
- gift comes from wicked people who feel
- that by giving, they have provided
- something and bound us to them.
- Therefore, the Prophet's family taught
- us to pray, "Allahumma aghnini' an
- kholqik." O Allah, suffice us so that
- we do not need Your depraved and
- corrupt creatures. Because their gifts
- are not given without strings attached.
- They do not give hoping for Allah's
- pleasure, but give to bind and hold us
- hostage. Because of that, how many
- scholars have been held hostage by
- gifts? Thumma-stawa 'alal' arsy. Then
- He rules from the throne, His greatness
- and majesty. It does not mean Allah is
- sitting on the throne. Because place
- and time are creations of Allah.
- Likewise, the throne, greatness, and
- majesty are creations of Allah. Some
- people, unfortunately, with their
- naivety and narrow-mindedness, say
- Allah is in the sky. If Allah is not in
- the sky, it means He is everywhere.
- If He is everywhere, what does that
- mean? It means Allah is also in dirty
- places. You are truly thinking of
- imagining Allah as equal to yourself,
- both being created beings. Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala does not occupy
- space and time. Does not occupy space
- and
- space and time.
- The word "everywhere" in your speech
- means you are equating Allah with His
- creatures. Allah is with His creatures
- everywhere. Not a togetherness of
- essence, not a togetherness of time and
- space, but the togetherness of His
- knowledge, His mercy, His supervision,
- and His power. If it were a
- togetherness of time and space, when
- Allah is close to us, He would be far
- from His servants in distant places. Is
- that not right? If Allah is with people
- in America, it would mean people in
- Indonesia are far from Allah. But if
- Allah is with His creatures, wherever
- they are, it is not a togetherness of
- space and time. Allah Subhanahu wa
- ta'ala, who is the most glorious, the
- most holy, the most perfect, whose
- essence, greatness, and majesty we
- cannot possibly imagine. Here we truly
- see that Allah is different from His
- creatures. His creatures who are needy,
- weak, and bound by space and time, when
- they are close to one person, they are
- far from another. Whereas Allah is
- all-knowing, His knowledge encompasses
- everything past, present, and future.
- Whether His servants are on one
- continent or on another continent
- elsewhere. Even His creatures in the
- heavens, watched over by Allah, do not
- hinder Allah from watching over us all
- on earth. In fact, Allah is
- simultaneously able to grant the
- prayers of His servants scattered
- across the heavens and the earth.
- Yasaluhu man fis samawati wal ardhi
- kulla yaumin hua fi shan. All creatures
- in the heavens and on earth beseech
- Allah. Allah attends to and grants
- their prayers. He does not tell them to
- queue one by one.
- He does not say to them, "Wait in line.
- "
- Those at sea pray when facing disaster.
- Those in the air also face terrifying
- disasters. Those afflicted by illness,
- or a mother about to give birth.
- Likewise, those about to undergo
- surgery are all praying around the
- world. Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala does
- not say "one by one." But if we go to
- humans, humans are full of limitations.
- Even if they want to help, they are
- powerless. They may promise sincerely,
- yet they are not necessarily able to
- keep their word. Therefore, do not hang
- your hopes on anyone other than Allah.
- Turn your face toward Allah. Hold fast
- to Him. Likewise in facing the
- necessities of our lives. In educating
- our children, our families, or in
- facing COVID. Do not view COVID as an
- alien that came from outside the
- universe to attack Allah's domain.
- COVID is a creature of Allah that He
- sends to whomever He wills. Whether as
- a warning, an education, or what? As an
- expiation of sins for those afflicted,
- or as a punishment for their denial and
- arrogance. Allah shows through His
- hosts that they are not powerless. So
- sometimes it is a warning to repent,
- sometimes an education, sometimes an
- expiation of sins. After that, Allah
- restores them, while sometimes it is a
- punishment for those who are defiant
- and arrogant. Where do you place
- yourself? Are you among those who are
- defiant and arrogant? Allah will show
- His power. Walillahi junudus samawati
- wal ardhi wa kanallahu azizan hakima.
- To Allah belong the hosts of the
- heavens and the earth, and He is the
- Almighty, the All-Wise. But if you are
- among those who value the greatness and
- majesty of Allah, Allah will cherish
- you. Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala will
- send angels to protect you. Even when
- facing dangers, they come lightly, like
- clouds, then the rain of mercy will
- descend. Every time a believer emerges
- from a trial, they will find something
- eternally beautiful as a reward from
- Allah for their gratitude and patience.
- Ya'lamu ma yaliju fil ardhi wa yakhruju
- minha. He knows what enters into the
- earth, what is absorbed into the earth,
- and what comes out of it. Wa ma yanzilu
- minasama-i wa ma ya'ruju fiha. Likewise
- , He knows what descends from the sky
- and what ascends to the sky. Nothing is
- hidden from Allah. Therefore, if we
- seek refuge in Allah, Allah has the
- power to protect us from all kinds of
- dangers from the heavens and the earth.
- Both the visible and the invisible.
- Wahua maakum ainama kuntum. And He is
- always with you wherever you may be.
- Like it or not, Allah's supervision is
- always watching over you. Allah's
- knowledge encompasses you. For those
- who believe and do righteous deeds, His
- mercy also shields them. While those
- who disbelieve are easily susceptible
- to targets, disasters, and calamities.
- And He is with you, not in terms of
- space and time, but through His
- supervision, knowledge, control, power,
- mercy, and love wherever you are.
- Wallahu bima tamaluna basir. Indeed,
- Allah is All-Seeing of what you do.
- Lahu mulkus samawati wal ard. Again,
- Allah emphasizes that He possesses the
- entire kingdom of the heavens and the
- earth. Wahua alimum waallahi turjaul
- umur. He possesses the entire kingdom
- of the heavens and the earth. In the
- end, all matters are returned to Allah.
- Nothing happens without His permission.
- Nothing escapes Allah's grasp, and in
- the hereafter, everything will appear
- before Allah. Yaumaidin lahfa minkum
- khfiah. And Allah...waallahi turjaul
- umur. Yulijul laila fin nahar wulijun
- nahar fil. Gently, Allah inserts the
- night into the day. Night approaches
- gradually, not all at once from light
- to dark like someone switching off a
- light. Likewise, inserting the day into
- the night also happens slowly. Not all
- at once blazing with light so as to
- startle, like someone turning on a
- light. Yulijul laila fin nahar wulijun
- nahara fil. Because it is gradual, we
- are able to calculate time. Wahua
- alimun bidti sudur. And He is
- All-Knowing of everything hidden within
- the hearts. Where will you hide, O
- mankind? Where will you flee to? Bow
- your heads before the greatness and
- majesty of Allah. After that, Allah
- Subhanahu wa ta'ala invites, without
- forcing in the slightest. Aminu billahi
- wa rasulih. After you have heard all of
- this and understood it, believe in
- Allah and His Messenger. Believing in
- Allah, your Lord, will not harm you.
- Believing in Allah, Allah will
- illuminate your lives. Allah will
- fulfill your hopes and guide your paths
- . Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala will
- protect those you love and keep you
- away from danger and harm. Believe in
- Allah. By believing in Allah and
- following His guidance, you will not be
- lost and will not suffer. Wa rasulih.
- And believe in His Messenger. Because
- he is not an ordinary man, but a human
- who carries a message, a letter, and a
- mission from Allah. He conveys the
- message to you with complete honesty,
- not adding anything nor taking anything
- away. When you follow the Messenger,
- obey him, and believe in him, it means
- you truly appreciate and respect Allah.
- Because respecting His messenger is the
- same as respecting Allah. Obeying His
- messenger is the same as obeying Allah.
- Wakakumur rasul fakudu w nahakumu
- fantahu. So whatever truly comes from
- Allah And whatever comes from His
- Messenger authentically and is proven,
- it is our obligation to obey it without
- any bargaining. Therefore, following
- the Sunnah of the Messenger, obeying
- what comes from the Messenger
- authentically, with undoubted
- narrations and in line with the Book of
- Allah, we are then obliged to do what?
- Prioritize it over others. But because
- of the many lies in the name of the
- Messenger, the Prophet himself said
- during his lifetime, "Man kadaba alaiya
- falyataba 'maqadahu minar." Whoever
- lies in my name, let him take his place
- in the Hellfire. So, we do not want to
- be among those who lie in the name of
- Allah. Because the distance is so vast
- between us and the Messenger, and the
- distance of the hadith collectors from
- the Messenger is also quite far; they
- were not collected during the time of
- the Messenger. Thus, we must be careful
- ; besides looking at the chain of
- narrators, we examine the content and
- meaning. Does it match the Book of
- Allah? If it fits and is in harmony,
- wajaba alaina as-sam'u wat-ta'ah. We
- are obliged to listen and obey. So, we
- are not people who reject the Sunnah of
- the Messenger, may Allah bless him and
- grant him peace. Far be it from us. How
- could we reject him, when he is the
- ambassador who came carrying a mission
- from Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala? So,
- have faith in Allah and His Messenger.
- Having faith is not just believing and
- being convinced; having faith means
- believing, being convinced, obeying,
- and submitting. If faith were only
- believing and being convinced, Iblis
- would be the most faithful creature.
- Because he not only heard, but he
- witnessed what we have only heard about
- regarding the angels and the life of
- Paradise. He knows Allah better than we
- do. But Allah said, "Fakana minal
- kafirin." Because of his refusal and
- his defiance, even though he knew. Thus
- , having faith in Allah and His
- Messenger means we obey Allah and His
- Messenger, which stems from our belief
- and certainty in Allah Subhanahu wa
- Ta'ala. Aminu billahi wa rasulih. After
- that, wa anfiqu mimma ja'alakum
- mustaklafina fih. And spend from what
- we have entrusted to you as Allah's
- caliphs on the face of the earth. What
- you possess is not property that will
- not be questioned, but property that is
- a trust. Spend a portion of what Allah
- has entrusted to you as caliphs who
- will be held accountable for your deeds
- . Does the person who gives charity
- lose? Not at all. Every time they give
- one in the way of Allah, they will
- receive 700 times fold. When they spend
- a portion of their wealth, they are
- lightening their burden. This means
- their brother who receives the charity
- helps to lighten and carry their load.
- While in the afterlife, they will
- receive manifold rewards. But how sad
- is the state of someone carrying so
- much luggage, climbing, descending,
- sometimes crossing slippery paths.
- Eventually, before reaching the
- destination, they collapse on the way,
- not to mention the heavy accountability
- . Thus, Imam Ali said in his testament
- to his sons, "If someone offers to
- lighten the burden on your back, let
- them carry it." You will lighten your
- burden and you will receive your reward
- in the hereafter. How fortunate are
- those who give to charity. When they
- give, they extinguish the wrath of
- Allah. When they give for the sake of
- Allah, they will receive Allah’s
- forgiveness. When they give, they will
- receive a greater replacement from
- Allah. When they give, they will ward
- off danger from themselves. Therefore,
- Allah says, "Wasari'u ila maghfiratim
- mir rabbikum wa jannatin' arduha
- as-samawatu wal-ard, u'iddat
- lil-muttaqin." Race toward forgiveness
- from your Lord. And a paradise that
- Allah has promised for the righteous,
- which is as vast as the heavens and the
- earth. How do we attain it? "Alladzina
- yunfiquna fis-sarra'i wad-darra '." To
- attain it, Allah mentions the criteria.
- Those who spend their wealth in times
- of ease and prosperity, or in times of
- hardship and danger. Like right now,
- people who are holding onto their money
- , yet they trust in Allah and give away
- a portion of their wealth. To help
- their brothers who lost their jobs,
- were laid off, or are sick, they give
- away a portion of their wealth. So,
- Allah begins the criteria for the
- righteous who will receive forgiveness
- and paradise, which is those who spend
- their wealth in the way of Allah. If
- you want proof, don't just know about
- it. Try giving, and you will feel a
- greater reward in this world, let alone
- in the hereafter. Allah will keep you
- away from danger, including from COVID.
- But the more stingy you are, the more
- you will live in fear and anxiety. Even
- if you protect yourself, if Allah
- allows COVID to strike, it will strike.
- Even if you wear 1,000 masks or 1,000
- layers of PPE, if Allah wills the virus
- to come, it will come. So do good deeds
- , act with kindness, and enjoin what is
- right. This will protect you from
- calamity, danger, and punishment. So,
- have faith in Allah and His Messenger.
- Then, spend from what Allah has
- entrusted to you as a stewardship, for
- which you will be questioned in the
- hereafter. "Falladzina amanu minkum wa
- anfaqu lahum ajrun kabir." For those
- among you who believe and give, Allah
- has prepared a very great reward. The
- meaning of "great" depends on who is
- describing it. If a small person
- describes something as great, the value
- is small. Huh.
- If someone used to seeing hundreds of
- thousands or ten thousands says, "If
- you work, you will get a great reward."
- Maybe to them, 100 or 200,000 is great.
- But when Allah, the Ruler and Owner of
- the entire kingdom of heaven and earth,
- describes that for those who believe
- and give, He has provided a great
- reward, it is truly great. How vast is
- that greatness?
- MashaAllah.
- You cannot even imagine it.
- I truly feel that for the small acts of
- kindness we do, the reward Allah gives
- is so immense. We feel ashamed.
- Especially when we are often negligent,
- unmindful, and forgetful. Sometimes we
- even use the provisions that Allah has
- given us for negligence and
- disobedience. Astagfirullahalazim wa
- atubu ilaih. After that, Allah
- Subhanahu wa Ta'ala poses a question.
- Wama lakum la tu'minuna billahi
- warasulu yad'ukum litu'minu birabbikum
- waqad akhaza mitsaqakum in kuntum
- mu'minin. What is the reason? What is
- the obstacle preventing you from
- believing in Allah? Has Allah ever been
- cruel to you? Has Allah ever
- intimidated you? Has Allah ever taken
- away the goodness you possess? Or is it
- the opposite? Your very existence and
- all your blessings come from Allah. As
- for disasters and catastrophes, they
- come from you, from your own deeds that
- invite punishment and disaster, yet
- most humans do not realize it and even
- deny it. The goodness you receive comes
- entirely from Allah. The evil you
- receive is the consequence of your own
- actions. Wama asabakum min musibatin
- fabima kasabat aidikum. Whatever
- disaster befalls you is a result of
- what your own hands have earned. Allah
- still turns a blind eye to most of your
- deeds. If everything were punished, we
- would not know what would happen. So
- what is your excuse, O Ministers, O
- President, O Vice President, as well as
- the people's representatives, O Ustadhs
- , O scholars, let us focus our
- attention on Allah. Let us not just
- prioritize ourselves, our pleasures,
- our desires, our dreams, our ambitions
- which are limited to worldly life; we
- will soon leave our positions behind.
- Just as President Soekarno sat,
- replaced by Pak Harto, then replaced by
- BJ Habibie, replaced by Gus Dur,
- replaced by Ibu Mega, and after that
- replaced by SBY for two terms. Now
- President Jokowi has taken over. Soon
- you too will go, replaced by someone
- else. But while you have the
- opportunity in office, fulfill Allah's
- mandate, do not be deceived by Satan
- who will make us companions in the
- torment of hellfire. Wa la iyadzubillah
- . So, what is preventing you from
- believing in Allah? What wrong has
- Allah done to you? Isn't it the
- opposite? Hasn't Allah been showering
- you with His blessings all this time?
- Warasulu yad'ukum litu'minu birabbikum.
- Even though the Messenger has invited
- you to believe in your Lord and your
- God. The Messenger, during his lifetime
- . Likewise, after he returned to
- Allah's side, the Quran is the message
- he conveyed that still exists, guarded
- and preserved in our midst. Waqad
- akhaza mitsaqakum. And the Messenger
- has taken your pledges and oaths. Even
- waqad akhaza mitsaqakum at the moment
- you declare your faith—I bear witness
- that there is no god but Allah and I
- bear witness that Muhammad is the
- messenger of Allah—you are bound by
- Allah's rules. Even when you were still
- in the womb, what were you? You were
- beings who did not yet know parents,
- father, mother, or the environment.
- Allah had already taken your testimony.
- When Allah took your seeds from the
- loins of your fathers and mothers,
- Allah took your testimony and you
- testified there. This testimony is
- embedded in human nature. Whether
- admitted or not admitted. Allah has
- taken your promises and oaths if you
- are believers. If you only claim to
- have faith and profess the shahada, but
- do not prove it with deeds, you are not
- yet a believer. Perhaps some might say,
- "Ustaz Husein is being extreme." These
- are not my words, but the words of
- Allah. Remember, Allah Subhanahu wa
- ta'ala guides you not because He needs
- you, nor to add to His followers at all
- . No. He is the One who sends down
- clear verses to His servant. He sends
- down to His servant verses that provide
- explanation and light, not for Allah's
- benefit, but to lead you out of
- darkness into light. In order to bring
- you out from the darkness of this life
- toward a life full of brightness.
- Before, you were afraid in the midst of
- darkness; Allah provided a sense of
- security through His light. Before, you
- were weak; Allah provided strength
- through faith. Before, you were lost,
- adrift, confused, not knowing what to
- do; Allah showed you the way. Allah
- clarifies the path of salvation while
- warning us against paths that harm and
- ruin us. And indeed, Allah is for you
- most kind and merciful. And Allah is
- truly most compassionate and merciful
- to you all. Appreciate Allah’s
- compassion toward us before it is too
- late. Because if we continue to linger
- in disbelief, and face disaster, or an
- ill ending, do not blame Allah. Allah
- has sent His messenger, revealed His
- book, given us knowledge, and given us
- reason. But it turns out, few of us are
- grateful for Allah’s blessings. Now,
- as a closing to this morning’s study,
- God willing, we will continue in the
- next session. Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala
- , after asking, "Why is it hard for you
- to believe?" What is hindering you? Now
- Allah asks a second time, regarding
- spending in the way of Allah. What is
- your excuse for being reluctant to
- spend in the way of Allah? When the
- heritage of the heavens and the earth
- belongs to Allah alone. Everything
- belongs to Allah, the entire
- inheritance of the heavens and the
- earth. Because He is the Creator. When
- you pass away, you will not take
- anything with you. You will only take a
- few pieces of shroud, and perhaps some
- scent to perfume your body. Then a few
- wooden planks to cover your grave,
- topped with a mound of earth. That is
- all you will take with you. As for
- everything else, you will leave it
- behind. Your family will no longer be
- able to send anything to you except for
- prayers. And even prayers are only
- accepted from those who believe. So
- what stops you, who have been given
- excess, from investing—not for others
- , but for your afterlife, for your
- provision? What hinders you from
- spending in the way of Allah? When the
- entire wealth and inheritance of the
- heavens and earth belong to Allah.
- Those who spend before the victory and
- fight are not equal to those who come
- after. Those who spent before the
- Conquest of Mecca, when Islam was still
- weak, are not the same. The Prophet
- fought alongside his companions, the
- predecessors sacrificed what they owned
- and what they loved, unlike those who
- spent and fought after the Conquest of
- Mecca. Therefore, the Muhajirin and
- Ansar who fought alongside the Prophet
- are not the same as those who embraced
- Islam after the Conquest of Mecca.
- Those who converted to Islam after the
- Conquest of Makkah mostly hitched a
- ride on Islam's glory after the
- Prophet’s victory. As for those who
- struggled beforehand, they were the
- ones who sacrificed everything. This is
- the position explained by Allah. They
- are not the same: those who spent and
- fought before the city of Makkah fell
- into the hands of the Muslims, compared
- to those who believed and fought after
- that. Meaning, those who struggled from
- the beginning, laying the foundation
- and building the structure, are not the
- same as those who came later, taking
- shelter under the building erected by
- those predecessors. There is a
- difference between the freedom fighters
- who struggled for our nation's
- independence and us, who do not guard
- or appreciate that independence, and
- instead just enjoy it. Now we want to
- sell the wealth of our country to
- foreign hands to let them control it.
- That means we do not value our
- independence. What is the meaning of
- the August 17th independence
- commemoration? Commemorating the
- struggle of our people, yet we do not
- guard it, and even let go of what they
- fought for. Everything they fought for,
- we are handing over to foreigners. In
- the past, the Dutch came to our land as
- traders and managed to colonize us for
- 350 years because they cooperated with
- traitors. Now, we are making the same
- fatal mistake today. But even if we
- don't see the outcome in this world yet
- , in the afterlife, we will witness the
- recompense for those who fought and
- those who betrayed. So, those who
- struggled from the start, laying the
- foundation for our nation's security,
- are not the same as those who came
- later, enjoying the building
- constructed by all our fighters. Just
- like the state of the earlier
- companions of the Prophet compared to
- those who came after. Those
- predecessors who laid the foundations
- of Islam have a much higher degree than
- those who spent, believed, and fought
- thereafter. Therefore, the thulaqa who
- entered Islam after the Conquest of
- Makkah are different from the
- companions who were close to the
- Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him.
- Wa kullau wa'adallahul husna. And to
- each, Allah has promised the best,
- according to the deeds they have
- performed. Wallahu bima ta'maluna
- khabir. Indeed, Allah is All-Aware of
- what you do. You do not need to mention
- , defend, or praise yourselves.
- Everything is in the sight of Allah,
- recorded in a book that does not err or
- forget. Now, lastly. Man zalladzi
- yuqridullaha qardan hasanan
- fayudha'ifahu lahu walahu ajrun karim.
- Who among you is willing to lend to
- Allah? Our lives, our wealth, and our
- possessions are gifts from Allah. Now
- He asks us, who among us is willing to
- lend to Allah? Even though everything
- belongs to
- Allah.
- What does lending to Allah mean? We
- spend our wealth in the way of Allah.
- Helping the poor, helping those in
- distress. When we give aid to them, it
- is the same as lending to Allah, or
- spending our wealth for the struggle in
- the path of Allah, for His da'wah, for
- jihad in the path of Allah, and for
- improving social and economic life. All
- of this is infaq in the path of Allah,
- depending on our intentions. fayuda'ifu
- lahu walahu ajrun karim, "Allah will
- multiply his reward, and Allah has
- prepared a noble, generous recompense
- for him." This is Allah's promise.
- Let's imagine a parent gives each of
- their children 1 million. 1 million.
- After giving it, the parent tests which
- child is generous. "Now, Father has no
- money.""What for?""To borrow from you."
- "Who wants to help Father?" It turns
- out some children say, "Wow, we really
- need it, Father." Another says, "I will
- lend you everything I have.""In fact,
- this isn't even a loan because it all
- came from Father.""We want to return it
- to Father." All this time, praise be to
- God, we have received so much kindness.
- So, when Allah tests us, it is not
- because He is incapable or lacks
- anything, but Allah wants to see which
- of us has a generous soul and is
- grateful for Allah's blessings. Never
- mind giving what we have from our own
- wealth. All this time we have enjoyed
- such immense facilities from Allah. How
- can we be stingy about doing good for
- our brothers and sisters who are in
- need? But unfortunately, our mentality
- is still a 2.5%mentality. And that is
- only after cutting here and there. How
- do you expect to buy paradise? It
- wouldn't even be enough to buy
- vegetable soup. If that were
- distributed to the community, to the
- people, it wouldn't be enough to buy
- vegetable soup. Those who pay zakat are
- few, those who receive are so many.
- Then we are proud to be the largest
- Muslim majority in the world. What is
- there to be proud of? Building mosques
- that chime on the side of the road.
- People are suffering and miserable,
- while their close relatives are
- reluctant to help them. This is a*
- balagh*, conveying the verses of Allah.
- May there be hearts that are touched,
- awakened, and ears willing to hear and
- respond to this call. And I hope it
- starts with me personally responding to
- this call, O Lord. Our families, then
- all the warriors of*da'wah*on this*
- silaturahim*radio, then the listeners,
- and I hope you will not be passive
- because you have an obligation to
- listen, accept, and convey. If you
- convey it to others, Allah will protect
- you from His torment and wrath. Because
- *amar ma'ruf nahi munkar*(enjoining
- good and forbidding evil) will guard
- and protect us from the torment and
- wrath of Allah*subhanahu wa ta'ala*.
- Such is it, brothers and sisters who
- are blessed by Allah. May Allah*
- subhanahu wa ta'ala*accept our
- offerings. May Allah make what we have
- said truly and solely for the sake of
- hoping for Allah's pleasure. It is not
- because of a desire to insult someone,
- bring them down, belittle someone, or
- to aim to poke and stab at the
- officials. No. But this is for us to
- convey to fulfill our responsibility,
- hoping that there are among us those
- who are willing to respond to this call
- for the good of ourselves, our families
- , our nation, and our country.
- Subhanakallahumma wabihamdik, ashadu
- alla ilaha illa anta, astaghfiruka wa
- atubu ilaik, wa-l-afwu minkum.
- Wasalamualaikum warahmatullahi
- wabarakatuh.
- Waalaikumsalam warahmatullahi
- wabarakatuh. Praise be to God, may what
- was shared earlier increase our faith
- and conviction in the message of the
- Quran.
- Thank you all for your attention. We
- will meet again on another occasion,
- God willing.
- I am Muhammad Krishna, along with Odi
- Saputra, Anis, and Fahri. We bid you
- farewell. May God's peace and guidance
- be upon you. Peace be upon you, and the
- mercy and blessings of God.
- And peace be upon you, and the mercy
- and blessings of God.
