Praise be to 5:02 Allah, we always thank Allah Subhanahu 5:05 wa Ta'ala for the outpouring of 5:07 guidance, help, and grace, the greatest 5:10 blessings of Islam and faith, and how 5:12 sufficient those are as blessings. 5:16 Brothers, welcome back to our weekly 5:18 study, and here we are studying the 5:20 book Mahiyatut Tasawuf Wasimatu ahli. 5:23 Revealing the essence of Sufi knowledge 5:25 and the signs of those who practice 5:26 Sufism. Praise be to Allah, more than 5:28 half of this book, Habib, has been 5:30 completed. 5:32 It's almost finished, Ya Latif, Ya 5:34 Latif, Ya Latif. We have discussed the 5:36 definition of Sufi knowledge, then the 5:39 signs of Sufi knowledge, and here are 5:41 mentioned the 10 main signs. 5:44 Of those who practice Sufism. 5:45 The first is the mastery of Sharia 5:48 knowledge, then concern for the heart, 5:51 third is sincerity, fourth is honesty 5:54 or earnestness, and fifth is humility. 5:58 The sixth is the absence of envy or 6:00 jealousy and mutual respect. And the 6:03 seventh here is kathratuz zikir. The 6:05 frequency of one's remembrance of Allah 6:07 . And this... 6:09 We have already started this discussion 6:11 last week. There, we discussed several 6:14 virtues of remembrance from the Quran 6:17 as stated in the words of Allah Ta'ala 6:19 in the Quran. "Remember Me, I will 6:21 remember you," to the end of the verse. 6:24 Also several hadiths of the Prophet 6:26 Sallallahu alaihi wasallam related to 6:28 remembrance. Here, there is a saying 6:32 from scholars: "Bikratiz zikri yadharu 6:36 ma fil ghuyub." Through much 6:41 remembrance, the secrets of the unseen 6:44 realm will be revealed. In that 6:47 language, "Yadharu ma fil ghuyub," many 6:54 secrets will be reached by those who 6:55 frequently remember Allah, the veil is 6:57 lifted by Allah Ta'ala. Indeed, because 7:01 the veil between a servant and the 7:03 Almighty, what is it called? It is 7:06 because of the sins of the servant 7:07 themselves. You are told in the poem, 7:15 your veil is something you created 7:18 yourself through your sins. And 7:21 actually, the cure is also within 7:23 yourself. What will the cure be? That 7:26 is, much remembrance of Allah. 7:28 So, it scrapes away the veil between a 7:30 servant and Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. 7:32 The veils are eroded until the veil 7:34 between them and Allah Ta'ala is opened 7:35 . By much remembrance. Now, here we can 7:39 take this evidence from the hadith of 7:40 the Prophet Sallallahu alaihi wasallam. 7:42 When he was asked, "O Messenger of 7:44 Allah, which of those who pray have the 7:46 greatest reward?" O Messenger of Allah, 7:49 many people pray, but among those who 7:51 pray, who receives the most reward? 7:55 He replied, "The one who remembers 7:57 Allah the most." The one who does the 7:59 most remembrance. Oh, O Messenger of 8:02 Allah. What about those who pay zakat? 8:04 Who among those who pay zakat receives 8:06 the most reward? It is the same, "The 8:08 one who remembers Allah the most." He 8:11 continued to be asked one by one about 8:13 many acts of worship. Finally, the 8:14 questioner said, "Oh, if so, then the 8:16 rememberers have gone with the good of 8:17 this world and the hereafter." If that 8:19 is the case, O Messenger of Allah, 8:20 those who remember Allah will be 8:22 fortunate with the goodness of this 8:23 world and the hereafter. He replied, " 8:26 Yes." That is exactly what you said. 8:29 That is the goodness of this world and 8:30 the hereafter that will be widely 8:32 attained by those who remember Allah 8:33 often. Wow, that dhikr is amazing. Okay 8:37 . Imam al-Haddad said, "Bib, it will be 8:38 discussed here at the end of the 8:40 chapter, a saying from Imam al-Haddad 8:41 as well." Imam al-Haddad once said in 8:44 his other qasidah, regarding dhikr, he 8:50 said 'kasultani fil gurabi', he gave an 8:53 analogy for dhikr, what is it called? 8:58 If we compare it with the 'gurab'(crowd 9:00 /others), with what we call all the 9:02 acts of worship that bring us closer to 9:04 Allah. Whether it's prayer, fasting, 9:06 zakat, everything. If we compare them, 9:09 then the status of dhikr is like a king 9:11 . Ahah. The others are like soldiers. 9:17 The others become our means to perform 9:19 dhikr. 9:20 Nah, Masha'Allah, you. Barakallahu feek 9:22 . Masha'Allah, Bib. 9:23 Masha'Allah. Good. 9:25 That's right, Habib. Why do we pray? 9:27 For the sake of dhikr, right, for the 9:29 sake of remembering Allah. Everything's 9:32 target is dhikr. Wow, that's why he 9:36 said it's like a sultan. The others are 9:38 just soldiers, it means. 9:39 Amazing. Amazing. Because yes, yes, yes 9:41 . Like a sultan, we are 9:43 working, and the sultan is the 9:46 coordinate, meaning the goal is there. 9:48 As the true goal. 9:50 The estuary of our worship. 9:52 Beautiful words, indeed. 9:53 Allahu Akbar. Masha'Allah. Now, here we 9:56 are still discussing the hadiths. Here 9:58 Sayyid al-Habib presents many hadiths, 10:01 even though there are some hadiths that 10:03 Sayyid al-Habib specifically dedicated 10:06 to the matter of salawat and the 10:08 virtues of salawat. Bismillah, 10:10 bismillahirrahmanirrahim. Abdullah... 10:27 from a companion named Abdullah bin 10:29 Busr, that a person came and said, "O 10:32 Messenger of Allah, the Islamic laws 10:34 have truly confused me." What does it 10:38 mean? There are so many, O Messenger of 10:39 Allah. Told to do this, told to do that 10:42 , what is it? Sometimes there is this, 10:44 and this is more virtuous. Ah, confused 10:45 , aren't we? Can you tell me one thing 10:49 only, that I can hold on to, hold 10:52 firmly to just that one thing? 10:55 Oh, what is that? The Prophet (SAW) 10:58 immediately said, "The answer is, let 11:00 your tongue always be moist with the 11:02 remembrance of Allah Ta'ala." Now, that 11:05 is the only one. So if you're confused 11:08 about what to do, whether to read this 11:10 or that, to contemplate, or to perform 11:12 many sunnah prayers, or to do many 11:13 fasts. Ah, the important thing is one 11:16 target, what is it? Do not let your 11:18 tongue be dry from the remembrance of 11:20 Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. Right. Now, 11:23 this is the first hadith. Then the 11:25 second hadith, and from Mu'adh bin 11:26 Jabal radiallahu anhu, from the 11:27 Messenger (SAW), "Ma 'amila ibnu Adama 11:29 amalan anjahu min' adhabillahi min 11:30 dzikrillahi." 'Amalan anjahu min' 11:34 adhabillahi min dzikrillahi. Yes. 11:37 A son of Adam does not perform any deed 11:40 that saves him more from Allah's 11:42 punishment than the remembrance of 11:44 Allah. So, what deed keeps us away from 11:47 Allah's punishment? Many. But what deed 11:50 is the most effective to keep us away 11:52 from Allah's punishment? Uh, that is 11:55 one, namely the remembrance of Allah 11:57 Ta'ala. That is the most powerful deed 11:59 to keep us away from the punishment of 12:01 Allah. So the companions said, "O 12:03 Messenger of Allah, isn't it jihad, 12:04 isn't jihad what keeps us away from 12:06 Allah's punishment?" His Majesty 12:08 replied, "Even jihad.""Even jihad is 12:10 surpassed by dhikr." 12:12 Unless 12:13 unless, he said he said. Unless you 12:21 perform jihad earnestly while carrying 12:24 your sword. MashaAllah, his jihad is 12:26 extraordinary. Until that sword breaks. 12:28 Yeah. 12:29 Then you buy a new sword again. Jihad 12:31 again until that sword breaks. Then 12:34 jihad again, buy a new sword until it 12:35 breaks again. What does that mean? 12:38 Unless it is jihad performed repeatedly 12:39 and with great earnestness. Now, only 12:41 then can it defeat dhikr. 12:43 Meaning dhikr is on par with that act 12:46 of worship. The worship of jihad. The 12:49 act of jihad with these criteria. Jihad 12:52 that is repeated, earnest, and truly 12:54 sincere, ah, that is just equal. 12:57 But if it's only jihad once or twice, 12:59 ah, dhikr still wins. 13:01 MashaAllah. MashaAllah. 13:02 It's amazing, Habib. This dhikr is 13:04 amazing. Amazing. Extraordinary. When a 13:07 person has, uh, tasted the pleasure of 13:09 dhikr, yeah 13:10 it is indeed a bit difficult at first, 13:12 right? A bit difficult. Sometimes we 13:14 are asked, how can we taste the 13:16 pleasure of dhikr? Doing a lot of dhikr 13:18 , yes, excellent. So much so that among 13:21 some Sufi scholars, uh, they are given 13:23 a routine where you have to complete a 13:25 large number, tens of thousands, in a 13:28 certain number of days. Wow, 13:30 how is this done, do I have to stay up 13:32 all night? Sometimes, like it or not, a 13:34 special room is provided, don't go 13:36 anywhere, just stay there. Over time, 13:40 it means staying up for days to reach 13:43 this target. 13:46 It feels like a burden at first, like a 13:48 burden, but eventually, oh, it's 13:50 actually pleasant, being carried away 13:52 by that realm, especially with 13:53 seclusion. 13:54 Seclusion, these two are the most 13:56 powerful: one is seclusion, being alone 13:59 and remembering Allah, contemplating, 14:01 that is mandatory. The second is being 14:03 together with, uh, friends, doing 14:06 congregational dhikr. Congregational 14:08 dhikr together, uh, anywhere. But what 14:11 is amazing is that in a closed room, it 14:13 becomes, what is our term for it? 14:16 Passionate. That, MashaAllah, we are 14:20 immediately carried away in that 14:21 direction, that is just tasting it. 14:24 Once you have tasted it, oh, dhikr is 14:25 pleasant, this means. Well, that's it 14:27 then. Bismillah, tawakal alallah. Uh, 14:28 the further we go, the more pleasant it 14:30 becomes. That is why in some Sufi 14:33 orders, they finally try to, uh, create 14:35 movements, or whatever, so that one can 14:37 enter, enter into this realm of dhikr. 14:41 Whether it's shaking their heads, or 14:44 whatever it's called, standing together 14:47 , uh, together. Now, those movements 14:50 are actually not a target. They are 14:53 only a means to make it easier for 14:55 someone to enter into that ocean of 14:57 dhikr together. Now, that's the story, 15:00 uh, if from the Sadah Al-Ba'alawi 15:02 circles, uh, they don't really rely on 15:04 that. It is even said, uh, our Tariqa, 15:07 the Tariqa of the Sadah Al-Ba'alawi, 15:09 remains what it means, steadfast and 15:11 continues to perform dhikr with 15:13 composure without movements. Unless 15:15 it’s unintentional and you’re 15:17 carried away, it’s problematic, so to 15:19 speak. 15:20 The meaning of swaying is that it 15:22 should be natural, not forced. 15:23 Now, this is important, Bib, regarding 15:25 the swaying. So, swaying while doing 15:28 dhikr, in the linguistic term, it’s 15:30 tawajud or at-tawajud; when one is 15:31 doing dhikr, 15:34 it’s good if it’s pure. 15:37 Uh. 15:38 It means they aren't doing it on 15:40 purpose. 15:42 If you’re truly carried away, 15:43 that’s genuinely good. 15:45 It’s extraordinary, but the problem 15:48 is when it’s, uh, what do you call it 15:50 , fake. 15:51 Pretending to be seen. 15:53 Oh, that’s a mess, Bib, a total mess. 15:57 Back in the days of Habib Sal Tanggul, 16:00 may Allah have mercy on him, 16:03 there were groups like that. When doing 16:06 dhikr, they’d start spinning, and 16:08 Habib Sal knew, "This isn't right." 16:11 This isn't pure. 16:14 Usually, when doing dhikr, they’d 16:16 stand up and suddenly tawajud, some 16:18 fainting, or just pretending to faint. 16:23 So, Habib Sal came up with a plan for 16:25 the dhikr session. He told his family, 16:30 "Spread out the banquet first." What 16:32 kind of banquet? A feast. 16:34 Yes, usually there's a feast, so come 16:35 on later. Instead, he had them spread 16:38 out the feast first. Oh, so rows of 16:41 food? Rows of food. Rows of food. 16:43 Let’s see if you can fall now? Fall 16:45 where? Onto the plates later. Finally, 16:49 they started the dhikr, and he watched 16:52 them. Well, the people who were 16:55 pretending, when they were about to " 16:57 fall," they were confused about where 16:59 to land, choosing their spots. 17:02 Eventually, it was visible to others, 17:04 and they were caught. So, they had been 17:06 faking it all along. 17:08 Lured by the thought of food. 17:10 Enticed by food. Where are you going to 17:12 fall now? There's no space to fall; 17:13 it's all plates here. So. 17:16 They were caught, just like in the time 17:19 of Sheikh Salim Maula Ainat. He also 17:22 once saw some of his students in a 17:24 state of tawajud during dhikr. 17:26 Swaying, he meant swaying. Some of them 17:29 were genuine, honest, and truly carried 17:30 away. Some were not. So the next day, 17:34 he forbade it, "Hey, watch out, all of 17:36 you, if anyone moves tomorrow, I'll hit 17:38 you.""Hey, watch out, don't, don't move 17:42 ." Watch out if anyone moves. 17:45 They all obeyed. The next day, everyone 17:48 was still, Bib. No one dared to move, 17:50 except for one. 17:51 Yes. 17:52 He was still swaying. People said, " 17:54 What's wrong with him?" He's going to 17:55 get hit. "He's still moving." Ha, he 17:59 said. Now, we've found out. So, only 18:01 this one was honest all along, 18:03 the others were all lying. So, they 18:05 were just faking those moves. 18:06 Yes. Scared of being hit, they stopped 18:08 moving. So. 18:10 The moves were fake all along, weren't 18:11 they? Except for this one, he's genuine 18:13 . He doesn't care about the story. 18:15 Because it’s usually a reflex. A 18:17 reflex. 18:17 That’s it, Bib. If it’s a reflex, 18:19 then that’s okay. Pure. 18:21 Pure, right. 18:22 Subhanallah. Subhanallah. Amazing. 18:25 Amazing. Amazing. 18:26 Amazing. 18:26 So, that’s the matter of dhikr, Habib 18:28 . Now, here Sayidul Habib presents 18:31 several hadiths, yes, three hadiths 18:33 related to praying for the Prophet, 18:35 sallallahu alaihi wasallam. 18:39 Waan Abi Thalhah an Rasulullah 18:40 sallallahu alaihi wasallam. 18:42 From Abi Thalhah, narrating from the 18:43 Prophet, sallallahu alaihi wasallam. 18:44 Jaa-anil malak. Indeed, an angel has 18:47 come to me. Faqala. Then he said, "Ya 18:50 Muhammad, O Muhammad.""Ahadu ummatika 18:57 man shalla 'alaika...""...' ashran." 19:06 The angel said, "O Muhammad, O Prophet 19:08 Muhammad, are you pleased that your 19:13 Lord, Allah Ta'ala, says what? There is 19:16 no one from your ummah who sends 19:18 blessings upon you, but I will send 19:21 blessings upon him ten times.""And 19:24 there is no one from your ummah who 19:27 sends greetings upon you, but I will 19:29 send greetings upon him ten times.""Are 19:32 you pleased with that?" So I answered, 19:34 said the Prophet, sallallahu alaihi 19:36 wasallam, "Bala, yes." Yes. Meaning, 19:39 absolutely, O Allah, of course, O Allah 19:41 , meaning I am very pleased with that. 19:43 Now, this is well-known, like the 19:45 hadith we often hear, which is 19:47 presented after this. Man shalla ' 19:49 alayya shallatan shallallahu' alayhi 19:51 biha 'ashran. The first is the hadith 19:53 narrated by Ahmad and An-Nasa'i. The 19:55 second is the hadith narrated by Muslim 19:56 , well-known, that one prayer is 19:58 rewarded with 10 mercies by Allah 20:00 Ta'ala. This is amazing, Habib. 20:05 Yesterday we read an extraordinary 20:06 expression. The expression is amazing. 20:10 The expression written by Imam Shafi'i 20:13 in his book called Ar-Risalah. Ah, so 20:16 Imam Shafi'i, Habib, wrote a book 20:18 called Ar-Risalah. That book was 20:21 narrated by his student, Ar-Rabi' bin 20:22 Sulaiman Al-Muradi, one of the four 20:24 famous students in his book. This book, 20:27 Ar-Risalah, is crowned as the first 20:30 book written in the science of ushul 20:33 al-fiqh. Before it, before Ar-Risalah, 20:36 there was no science, there was no 20:38 writing on ushul al-fiqh, even though 20:40 ushul al-fiqh existed in the, what you 20:42 call it, the principles of the 20:44 mujtahidin. So, meaning, when Imam Abu 20:48 Hanifah or Imam Malik, or those before 20:50 them from among the companions, they 20:52 possessed the tools of ijtihad and the 20:54 science of ushul al-fiqh. However, it 20:57 was not written down. Then came Imam 21:01 Shafi'i, writing and formulating what 21:02 was in the minds of those scholars. 21:05 This is exactly the same story as the 21:06 science of nahwu, Bib. 21:08 Because, for the science of nahwu, who 21:09 wrote that? Abul Aswad Ad-Du'ali, right 21:12 ? 21:12 A tabi'in. Ordered by Sayyidina Ali bin 21:15 Abi Thalib, right? Only then was the 21:17 science of nahwu written. So, that 21:18 means before him, there was no nahwu. 21:20 It's not that there wasn't any. It 21:21 existed, but it wasn't written. 21:23 Back then, 21:25 concerning nahwu, 21:26 back then concerning nahwu, the Arab 21:28 people didn't need to study nahwu. It 21:31 was already their daily life. 21:32 Yes. 21:32 Like that. It was their daily life, so 21:34 they knew that the fa'il is marfu ', 21:36 the maf'ul is mansub. So, little 21:38 children were born already knowing it. 21:39 When born, they already knew that the 21:40 fa'il is marfu'. So they didn't study 21:42 it anymore; it was absorbed from the 21:43 environment. You could call it bid'ah 21:44 too, Bi. 21:47 An innovation. 21:48 An innovation. 21:49 MashaAllah. Still something new, like 21:52 that. 21:52 Well, back in the Prophet's time, there 21:54 was no written science of nahwu ( 21:55 grammar), none. 21:56 So, what happened? When the 21:58 what-do-you-call-it, the Islamic realm 22:00 expanded 22:01 in the time of Sayyidina Umar, it 22:03 became vast. Arabs mixed with the 22:06 non-Arabs (Ajam). 22:08 That influenced their natural 22:09 disposition. The nature of the Arabs. 22:10 To the point where they could no longer 22:12 distinguish between the doer (fa'il) 22:14 and the object (maf'ul). Until those 22:16 famous stories occurred. Abu al-Aswad 22:19 al-Du'ali and his child were looking at 22:21 , what do you call it, the stars. Then 22:25 his child said, "Ma ahsanus sama'i." 22:29 Using a damma, Bib. Ma ahsanu. If 22:32 translated, 'ma' means it is an 22:34 interrogative 'ma'. 'Ma' means, "What 22:36 is beautiful in the sky?" like that. 22:39 Then his father said, "The stars are," 22:43 referring to what is beautiful in the 22:46 sky. "This is what's cool right now." 22:48 The child said, "O my father, I didn't 22:51 mean to ask.""I wasn't asking.""I just 22:53 wanted to express amazement.""I wanted 22:55 to say, 'How beautiful is this sky!'"" 22:57 Not asking, 'What is beautiful about 22:59 the sky?'""How beautiful it is." 23:02 So, the child, that person said, "Ma 23:04 ahsanu," using a damma. 23:06 The father then said, "If that's the 23:09 case, then give it a fatha." What does 23:13 that mean? Because to express amazement 23:15 , shouldn't it be something else? 23:17 Ahsana, yes, 'ma ahsanama', the 'ma' of 23:19 amazement, right? So, 'ahsana' is the 23:21 past verb. 'Ma ahsanama', not 'ahsanu', 23:23 because if it's a damma, it means a 23:25 question. That is Arabic, one harakat, 23:27 just one harakat can change the meaning 23:29 . 23:29 Yes, that's right, that's right. Ma 23:31 ahsanus sama'i. Ma ahsanus sama'i. 23:35 Which one is beautiful in the sky? That 23:37 is a question. But if with a fatha, 'ma 23:39 ahsanama', it means how beautiful the 23:42 sky is. Exactly. Amazing. 23:45 It is said that when this father heard 23:48 that from his child, he was really 23:50 distressed and couldn't sleep that 23:53 night. "My child got the nahwu wrong."" 23:56 If this is how it is with native Arabs, 23:59 what will happen in the future? It will 24:02 be a mess." 24:03 Just the difference between U and A. 24:05 Difference between U and A. 24:06 Even children too. What happened the 24:10 next day, he poured his heart out to 24:12 Sayyidina Ali bin Abi Thalib. "O Imam," 24:15 he told the story of what happened last 24:17 night, and Sayyidina Ali realized this 24:18 was serious, a big problem. Sayyidina 24:21 Ali said, "Write it down." So Sayyidina 24:23 Ali dictated it to be written. Harun. 24:29 There were several sentences dictated 24:30 by Sayyidina Ali and written down by 24:32 Abu al-Aswad al-Du'ali. Then Sayyidina 24:34 Ali said, "Unhu," which means "proceed 24:38 with this pattern." This is what 24:41 created the examples that were 24:42 perfected. Then it was perfected by Abu 24:44 al-Aswad al-Du'ali. 24:46 Once finished, there were 10 chapters 24:47 at that time, and he gave it to 24:49 Sayyidina Ali. Sayyidina Ali said, "Ma 24:51 ahsana hadza al-nahw.""Oh, how 24:53 beautiful is this nahwu (grammar)-these 24:55 examples." And from then on, the name ' 24:58 ilmu nahwu' stuck. So, who named it in 25:00 the end? Sayyidina Ali. Sayyidina Ali 25:02 radhiyallahu... 25:04 Allahu Akbar. What is it called? Well, 25:07 let's look at this. So this is the 25:08 first book on Nahwu science, Bib. Does 25:11 that mean there was no Nahwu before? 25:13 None at all. However, it just wasn't 25:15 written in a book. It wasn't formulated 25:17 like the formulas written by Abu 25:19 al-Aswad ad-Du'ali. Imam Syafi'i was 25:21 the same with his book, Ar-Risalah. 25:25 Regarding Ushul Fiqh, it existed. When 25:27 Sayyidina Abu Hanifah or Imam Malik 25:28 practiced ijtihad, they had the tools 25:30 for ijtihad—that is Ushul Fiqh—but 25:32 it wasn't formulated, it was like a 25:34 natural instinct. Then Imam Syafi'i 25:36 came and formulated what was in their 25:38 mindset into his book, Ar-Risalah. What 25:40 is said in the Alfiyah of Ushul Fiqh? " 25:45 Awalu man allafahu fil-kutubi, Muhammad 25:47 Ibnu Syafi'il-mutaba'u li-haqiqah." 25:52 Reality. Correct. The first to author 25:55 Imam...or Ushul Fiqh was Imam Syafi'i. 25:57 But the scholars before them, for them 26:00 Ushul Fiqh was like a nature. Exactly 26:03 like the state of Nahwu before it was 26:05 authored by Abul Aswad ad-Du'ali. Now, 26:08 what is this story about? Oh, the story 26:10 of Ar-Risalah. This is the story, yes. 26:11 The book Ar-Risalah. Ar-Risalah is 26:14 widely printed now. It's decent, about 26:16 this thick, one volume. What is amazing 26:20 , Bib, is that in the introduction of 26:22 Ar-Risalah, there is an extraordinary 26:24 and magnificent phrase. Imam Syafi'i 26:27 said, "Fajazahu Allahu ta'ala 'anna 26:30 afdala ma jaza mursulan' amman ursila 26:34 ilaih." May Allah Ta'ala reward Prophet 26:36 Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam 26:38 with the best reward that Allah Ta'ala 26:40 has ever given to a prophet for the 26:42 services he rendered to his ummah. That 26:44 is this first phrase. Okay. We often 26:51 read in the Ratib, right, "Jazallahu ' 26:52 anna Sayyidina Muhammadan khaira ma 26:54 huwa ahluh." 26:56 That, the thing that Imam Syafi'i said, 26:59 there is a hadith for it, even if the 27:02 hadith is hasan lighairihi or can also 27:05 be called da'if, what is it...it was 27:08 narrated by At-Thabrani and also Ibn 27:11 Shahin, what is it... "Man qala 27:13 jazallahu' anna Muhammadan khairan, 27:16 at'aba sab'ina malakan alfa sabah." 27:19 That's the hadith. Whoever says such a 27:22 prayer, then indeed he has tired, um, 27:25 how many? Tired 70 angels for 1,000 27:29 days. 27:29 Meaning tired of writing down the good 27:31 deeds. MasyaAllah. 27:32 Correct. Yes, tired of writing. The 27:34 reward is huge. How many? 70 angels 27:36 writing all of that. And those 70 27:38 angels are not writing it just once, 27:40 but for what is it, 1,000 days. 27:43 Amazing. 27:44 Writing the reward of "Jazallahu 'anna 27:45 Sayyidina Muhammadan khaira." The 27:47 hadith is well-known. It exists in... 27:48 Even though the hadith is, as mentioned 27:50 earlier... 27:50 It can be practiced in Fadhail Amal, 27:52 right? 27:52 But let's just practice it for 27:53 motivation. 27:55 Mumtaz, indeed a da'if hadith can be 27:57 practiced in Fadhail Amal. So, this is 27:59 what was quoted by Imam Syafi'i at the 28:00 beginning of his book. 28:02 After that, there is an extraordinary 28:03 phrase. Because here, the faqir wants 28:05 to discuss the matter of this salawat. 28:08 He said, "Falam tumsina ni'matun 28:11 zoharat wa la batonat fid-dini 28:14 wad-dunya ruffi'a' anna biha balaun..." 28:20 ...in both, there is no one in either 28:22 of them except that Muhammad, may Allah 28:24 bless him and grant him peace, is the 28:25 cause of their goodness and the guide 28:27 to their righteousness. "Therefore, 28:29 there is no blessing whatsoever that we 28:32 receive, whether it be an outward or 28:34 inward blessing. And there is no 28:36 calamity that is lifted from us, 28:38 whether it be a worldly or hereafter 28:40 calamity, except that Prophet Muhammad 28:42 is the intermediary for it all. How 28:44 amazing, extraordinary. It's not just a 28:49 small matter. Thank God, the Prophet 28:51 has conveyed the religion to us; it's 28:52 certainly not, not, not...Every single 28:54 blessing definitely has the Messenger 28:56 of Allah as an intermediary there. Even 28:58 worldly blessings. Even blessings. 29:02 Worldly blessings. Especially blessings 29:03 of the hereafter. He must be the 29:04 intermediary there. 29:06 Allah. 29:07 Amazing. This is not the phrasing. We 29:09 often hear this. Ah, this is the 29:10 expression of the Sufi scholars. This 29:11 is the expression of Imam Shafi'i. 29:13 Stated in his book, Ar-Risalah. 29:15 Habib, what is the actual meaning of ' 29:17 shalawat'(blessings upon the Prophet), 29:18 Habib? 29:18 Oh, how great. And what is the 29:20 difference between our shalawat, the 29:22 shalawat from Allah, and the shalawat 29:23 of the angels, Habib? 29:24 Excellent. Now, regarding this matter 29:26 of shalawat, in terms of language, ' 29:29 salah' means prayer, it means to pray. 29:33 When we send shalawat to the Messenger 29:34 of Allah, it means we are praying for 29:35 the Messenger of Allah. 29:37 H-how do you...It means sending 29:39 shalawat is providing goodness to the 29:41 Messenger of Allah. Wow, we are 29:43 incapable of repaying the extraordinary 29:45 kindness of the Messenger of Allah. Wow 29:48 , how could that be? 29:54 We want to repay the kindness of the 29:55 Messenger of Allah with...ah, no, it 29:57 will never be possible. Imam al-Haddad 30:00 said," Indeed, you, O youth, cannot 30:03 repay the kindness of your Messenger, 30:05 even if you could walk to him using 30:08 your own eyelids. "You will never be 30:12 able to repay him." So, what then? All 30:14 we can do is beg Allah. May Allah be 30:16 the One who repays him. May Allah be 30:19 the One who constantly grants mercy to 30:22 him. Now, that is prayer, it means we 30:24 are praying for the Messenger of Allah, 30:25 and... 30:26 And every second and millisecond, his 30:29 status continues to be raised. What do 30:32 you call it? Even though this matter is 30:34 said to be something that shouldn't be 30:35 spread except in a setting of teaching. 30:37 Yes. With that shalawat, we actually 30:41 benefit more; we pray for the Messenger 30:44 of Allah, and suddenly Allah gives 30:46 mercy to us. 30:49 Meaning the shalawat benefits us. 30:51 Very, very much. That is why in the 30:54 hadith, "The stingy person is the one 30:57 who, when my name is mentioned, does 30:59 not send blessings upon me." Why? 31:03 Because he is stingy toward himself. 31:05 Yes, if one sends shalawat, one gets 10 31:07 blessings from Allah Ta'ala. 31:08 It means shalawat is a sign of our 31:10 gratitude to the Prophet. 31:11 Yes, that's it in short. 31:13 God willing, if it is from Allah to the 31:15 Prophet, "Innallaha..." 31:18 Indeed, Allah and His angels send 31:19 blessings upon the Prophet. 31:21 Now, if it is from Allah, how is it? 31:22 Excellent. 31:23 Its prayer to... 31:25 How beautiful. 31:26 In the linguistic definition, 'salah' 31:28 is the same as, um, praying. Ah, then 31:31 we come to the Sharia terminological 31:33 definition. 31:35 The meaning of 'salah' depends on who 31:37 is sending it. 31:38 Now. 31:38 If the 'salah' is from humans and jinn, 31:41 yes, 31:41 then it means the same as prayer. 31:44 H. 31:44 Salat is synonymous with prayer. When 31:47 salat comes from Allah, it means 31:50 bestowing mercy. 31:52 So, it means Allah bestows mercy upon 31:54 Prophet Muhammad. It’s not like Allah 31:56 says, "Allahumma shalli ala Muhammad." 31:57 No. Allah bestows His mercy upon 31:59 Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. 32:02 Now, among these 32:03 whoever offers salawat to the Messenger 32:05 of Allah, Allah will offer salawat to 32:07 them. What does that mean? Does Allah 32:08 offer salawat by mentioning our names? 32:09 No, Allah Ta'ala sends down mercy upon 32:11 us. That is salat from Allah, which 32:13 means 32:14 mercy. Okay. The angels 32:16 that is a different story. When angels 32:17 offer salawat, it means asking for 32:19 forgiveness. 32:20 I see. 32:20 Yes. There is a hadith, "Innal 32:23 malaikata ahlil ula." The angels are 32:26 constantly offering salawat. For those 32:28 people who pray in the first row, 32:31 how so? Does it mean the angels say, " 32:33 Allahumma sholli ala" someone? No. No. 32:35 It means the angels offer their plea 32:36 for forgiveness. 32:37 Praying for their forgiveness. Which 32:40 means 32:40 it's the same as us, Bib. We both pray 32:42 for them. 32:42 Yes, exactly. Excellent. Excellent. 32:44 When we say "Allahumma shalli ala," we 32:46 are praying for Prophet Muhammad, 32:48 hoping Allah sends down His mercy. When 32:51 angels pray for Prophet Muhammad, they 32:53 hope Allah bestows His forgiveness. 32:55 That’s the plea for forgiveness 32:56 earlier. 32:57 If it comes from Allah, it is a direct 32:58 direct bestowal of mercy. If from 33:00 angels, it is a request for forgiveness 33:03 . 33:03 If from us, it is praying that Allah 33:05 sends down mercy. There is one more. 33:07 What else? 33:08 But this is rarely discussed. One 33:09 discussed by Al Imam Habib Ahmad bin 33:11 Alwi Assegaf in his book, Tarsyhul 33:14 Mustafidin, says this. There is one 33:18 more, also cited by Imam Bujayrimi, 33:21 about inanimate objects, what you call 33:24 ...inanimate things. 33:27 Even inanimate objects offer salawat. 33:29 Allah 33:30 how do inanimate objects offer salawat? 33:31 For inanimate objects, salawat is the 33:33 same as tasbih (glorification). 33:35 Yes, that’s it. So the whole universe 33:37 offers salawat, and even Allah, the 33:38 Creator of the universe, offers salawat 33:40 , though the ways are different. 33:44 Amazing. This salawat is amazing. 33:46 Now, the story mentioned earlier, the 33:47 story of Imam Syafi'i. He said, "There 33:49 is no goodness we attain in this world 33:51 and the hereafter. There is no blessing 33:54 we receive in this world and the 33:55 hereafter, and no calamity that is 33:56 averted from us in this world and the 33:57 hereafter, but that the intermediary 33:59 for it all is the Messenger of Allah, 34:00 peace be upon him." Sayyidina Muhammad. 34:02 Extraordinary. Extraordinary. Even 34:05 regarding worldly matters, we receive 34:07 worldly blessings. There is the merit 34:09 of the Messenger, there is the 34:11 intercession of the Messenger for us to 34:12 obtain those worldly things. That is 34:15 why we often hear, we have discussed it 34:17 before, you have asked about it 34:19 it is familiar now, what people say 34:21 when they are walking and see a luxury 34:23 house or see, what do you call it, a 34:25 cool car or something. Yes. 34:27 What do they say? "Send salawat on it." 34:29 Yes, that's right, that's right. 34:32 Right? Just send salawat on it. What 34:34 does that mean? "Send salawat so you 34:36 get it"—how does that story go? Is it 34:39 allowed? Okay, what are we referring to 34:41 ? To this text by Imam Syafi'i, right? 34:44 Imam Shafi'i said, "Every blessing we 34:45 receive is entirely thanks to Prophet 34:47 Muhammad." 34:48 Does that mean we can use salawat as a 34:50 means for us to obtain worldly things? 34:52 You certainly could. 34:53 It is possible. You could do that. 34:55 But it's too small if... 34:57 Ah, this is it. Masha Allah. You, dear. 34:59 Masha Allah as well. Masha Allah to you 35:04 . 35:04 Meaning, if there is a luxury house, we 35:06 pray salawat so we can get it. It is 35:08 still a dilemma, indeed it is still a 35:09 dilemma, every blessing's intermediary 35:11 is the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon 35:12 him. 35:13 But it means it's such a shame, how 35:15 could you use such an extraordinary, 35:17 magnificent salawat just to obtain a 35:19 trivial, temporary world? 35:22 The thing you should be praying for is 35:25 not a house, but paradise; once you get 35:27 paradise... 35:29 like that. 35:30 Go all out. Go for the big one. Go for 35:32 companionship with the Prophet. Now, 35:34 that's what we pray for, dreaming of 35:35 the Prophet. That's what we pray for. 35:37 There we go. 35:38 A friend of mine, 35:39 I said, a friend of Sister Iman's wife 35:41 said, "Okay, 35:43 it seems if we see luxury goods, it's 35:45 more appropriate to say istighfar, not 35:47 salawat." Because when we see luxury 35:50 goods, 35:51 the world is entering our hearts. 35:52 La ilaha illallah. 35:53 Straight to Allah. Oh, yes, that's true 35:56 , isn't it? 35:57 There is a beautiful saying. We can 35:59 take the evidence for a statement like 36:01 this. What is it? When some companions 36:05 saw grandeur, they were advised, "Say 36:08 when you see grandeur, 'Allahumma la' 36:11 aisha illa 'aishul akhirah'." To get 36:15 rid of that. To be aware. The eternal 36:18 life is the hereafter. This world is 36:20 temporary. 36:20 Allahumma 36:21 Allahumma la 'aisha 36:22 la' aisha 36:23 illa 36:24 illa 'aishul akhirah.' aishul akhirah. 36:26 'Aisha here means life. 36:27 Life. Correct. O Allah, there is no 36:30 life except the life that is the true, 36:33 the real life. Now, 36:35 that can be memorized, brothers and 36:37 sisters. Allahumma la' aisha illa ' 36:39 aishul akhirah. Masha Allah, brothers 36:41 and sisters. Come on, check in at 36:43 0811999720, or if you want to chat 36:49 directly with Habib Ahmad Mustaba, you 36:51 can call 0218451512. We are waiting, 36:56 brothers and sisters. Many have already 36:57 entered, Habib. 36:58 Welcome. 36:59 From Ibu Nur Sumianto, Pak Ramli, Pak 37:03 Anwar, Pak Bani, Pak Junandar, Ibu 37:07 Susmiati, Eyang Sri, Ibu Maya, Bunda 37:11 Emilda, and Muhammad Irfan. If I 37:16 mention them one by one, we might not 37:18 finish until Asr, Habib. Masha Allah, 37:20 there are also many watching on YouTube 37:22 TV. Brothers and sisters, don't forget 37:25 to like, share, subscribe, and 37:27 distribute to your friends' or brothers 37:30 'and sisters' groups. Habib, if that 37:33 was the meaning of salawat, what is the 37:35 purpose of dhikr itself, Bib? What is 37:38 the essence of dhikr? Is it enough just 37:41 by saying it a lot or remembering Allah 37:43 Subhanahu wa Ta'ala a lot? What is it, 37:46 Bib? 37:46 Allahu Akbar. 37:47 This remembering Allah? 37:48 Masha Allah. You, Bib. Subhanallah. 37:51 Actually, dhikr has already become a 37:53 target, Bib. The others are a means to 37:55 this remembrance. Thinking and, uh, why 37:58 do we perform dhikr? That is indeed 38:01 when we are remembering Allah. Now, 38:03 this is what Allah Ta'ala asks of us. 38:05 Actually, the main core is the heart. 38:08 Yes, it is the heart that remembers, 38:10 while the tongue is made to move to 38:13 help the heart. 38:15 Ah, I see, Bib. But how is it? 38:19 Sometimes we perform dhikr with our 38:20 tongues, but our hearts go blank, 38:22 wandering off, not knowing where. 38:24 That means we’ve lost the target. The 38:25 target is the heart, the point of the 38:26 story is, 38:27 healing our hearts. And it is truly 38:28 extraordinary. Every heart disease has 38:32 a cure found in dhikr. 38:35 So, dhikr is really like a medicine, 38:36 isn't it? Extraordinary. 38:37 It uses a prescription. 38:38 What are you sick with? Afflicted with 38:40 envy. Then this is the cure. Like that. 38:42 What about you? Afflicted with 38:43 arrogance. This is the cure. 38:46 There is dhikr just like a prescription 38:47 , really. Oh, 38:49 if you're sick with jealousy. There is 38:51 there is the remedy, and then there’s 38:53 an amazing cure for riya (showing off) 38:55 through certain prayers or dhikr. Now, 38:59 what is it called? Uh, the point is in 39:02 the heart, and that 39:05 speech is to help us internalize the 39:07 meaning of the dhikr, so it can be 39:09 heard, God willing. That is why it is 39:12 said like this, Bib. Hm. 39:14 The first door to dhikr is by reciting 39:17 it with our tongues and then reflecting 39:19 on the meaning of the words. 39:22 Lailahaillallah. There is no god but 39:23 Allah. For example. Subhanallah. Glory 39:25 be to Allah. Okay. Reflect on that. 39:27 Reflect on the meaning. Oh, wonderful. 39:29 Keep repeating it again and again. Now, 39:31 when we know the meaning of those words 39:33 , we will be brought to the second step 39:35 . Not just the meaning of the words, 39:39 but the hidden meanings behind them. 39:42 Like we once discussed regarding 39:43 Lailahaillallah. Behind there is no god 39:46 but Allah, there is La maujuda illallah 39:49 . There is nothing in existence except 39:50 Allah. La maksuda, there is no goal 39:52 except Allah. La masyhuda, nothing is 39:55 witnessed except Allah. Those are the 39:59 meanings hidden within Lailahaillallah. 40:01 And every dhikr has something like that 40:03 . Now. That is the point, Bib. That is 40:06 the point. 40:06 The point is, yes, the point is 40:07 remembering Allah. But also, if we keep 40:09 remembering Allah, surely we would feel 40:11 ashamed to commit sins. 40:12 Allahu Akbar. MashaAllah. Whatever the 40:14 work, the goal is Allah. When working, 40:17 remember Allah. The goal means if you 40:20 want to cheat at work, you're afraid 40:22 because you are watched by Allah 40:23 Subhanahu wa ta'ala. Finally, from 40:26 that dhikr, it becomes firmly 40:28 established. So 40:29 ah. That is the core, right. The main 40:32 target is when it is united, and he is 40:34 always with Him, meaning companionship 40:36 with Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala—that 40:38 is the core in the language of the 40:40 Quran. 40:42 Uh, faith will be established, 40:44 kalimatan tayyibatan. That is amazing. 40:54 Always, that is the parable of the tree 40:56 —some interpreters say it is a date 40:58 palm, interpreted as bearing fruit 41:00 every year. But other scholars say, "No 41:03 , 'hin' is absolute." 41:05 When will you harvest the fruit of the 41:08 faith and dhikr that has been planted 41:10 within you? At any moment. It’s not a 41:13 seasonal harvest, not once a year. Oh, 41:14 not once a month. At any moment, you 41:16 will harvest the fruit of the tree you 41:18 have planted in your heart. The tree of 41:20 dhikr, the tree of faith. 41:22 Masha Allah. 41:22 Masha Allah. Kalimatun tayyibah. 41:24 Kalimatun tayyibah. Wa asluha thabit. 41:26 What does that mean? Its roots are firm 41:28 . 41:28 Correct. In the ground, and far'uha, 41:31 its branches. 41:32 Are upward. 41:33 Blooming in. 41:34 In the heavens, from YouTube as well, 41:37 it seems, Habib. There's Jeffre, 41:40 there's Dejection, here's the dejection 41:42 , the Muibin of Habib Mustaba from MRBJ 41:45 . 41:46 Oh, Masha Allah. 41:47 There is Ibu Nurismawati, Mugi Jumawa, 41:49 Ahmad Muhammad. Masha Allah 41:52 tabarakallah, but Ahmad Muhammad is 41:53 written in Arabic. What does it say? " 41:56 Jazallahu anna sayyidina Muhammad." 42:01 Allah, oh my Lord, Muhammad, Muhammad, 42:04 sallallahu ala Muhammad wa ali Muhammad 42:07 . 42:08 And Masha Allah, jazakumullah khairan 42:10 jaza. There is Ahmad Hadi Maruf, 42:12 alhamdulillah. 42:13 Present from Tangsel, Masha Allah. 42:15 There is Dez Love IBHRS, yes. 42:18 We love you too, Masha Allah, Masha 42:20 Allah tabarakallah. There is Bunda 42:23 Ingga from Depok, Masha Allah, there is 42:26 Yani Sumen, Masha Allah. There is Ibu 42:30 Neli, Ibu, Ibu Lia, and also Bapak 42:34 Anwar. Masha Allah. Let's read one of 42:36 them. Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. 42:38 Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi 42:39 wabarakatuh. Habib. 42:41 Pardon me for asking, "Sufism is to 42:43 perfect the experience of worship." So, 42:47 is seeking a Mursyid an obligation? 42:50 Jazakallahu khairan. "From Bapak Anwar. 42:53 Oh, that is quite a question. That is 42:55 extraordinary. Right. Let’s answer 43:00 them one by one. Bismillah. 43:02 From Bapak Anwar here. Masha Allah. 43:03 That is correct. The branch of Sufism 43:05 is to perfect our pattern of worship 43:08 with ihsan. Sufism focuses on the third 43:11 pillar of our religion, which is 43:14 al-ihsan. The pillar of ihsan is very 43:16 important. It is the essence of all the 43:18 pillars." An ta'budullaha ka-annaka 43:20 tarahu, fa-in lam takun tarahu 43:21 fa-innahu yaraka. "Do we need a Mursyid 43:24 in this matter? Well, it is like this. 43:31 Imam Haddad said," Wa la budda min 43:33 shaykhin tasiru bihi, na'am. " 43:36 You must seek someone whom you can 43:38 follow in their journey toward Allah 43:41 Subhanahu wa ta'ala. A Mursyid is 43:45 likened to what we call a guide. Hmm. 43:48 So, there is a tour, as the story goes. 43:50 There is a tour. 43:51 And we want to go over there. It is far 43:54 to go there. And we know the road there 43:57 is many and full of obstacles. 44:00 Hmm. 44:01 There are, what do you call them? 44:02 Ravines, this and that. Oh, let's say 44:04 we want to go camping. 44:06 Climbing a mountain. 44:08 Our goal is to climb to the mountain 44:09 peak. Up there, there will be an 44:12 incredibly beautiful view. What flower 44:14 is that, Habib? The one usually found 44:15 on top of the mountain. 44:16 Uh, the flower. 44:17 Edelweiss. Edelweiss. 44:18 Yes, let's go, Masha Allah, climb the 44:20 mountain. 44:23 That flower doesn't exist except at the 44:25 top. If you want to see it, you have to 44:28 go up there, so what we hear about the 44:31 peak is truly amazing, it’s really 44:33 cool. Okay, do you want to climb it? 44:35 You can choose two options. 44:37 Find someone who has climbed before 44:39 and knows the way, or not?" I'll take 44:42 the easy way. "" I want to try on my 44:43 own, "" I want to find the path myself. 44:44 " 44:44 Yes. 44:44 Okay. Both can actually reach the 44:46 destination, it is possible. But if we 44:48 find an experienced person, someone who 44:51 knows the twists and turns of the path, 44:53 which parts are ravines and which are 44:56 safe, we will arrive faster and be much 44:58 safer. But if you want to try it 45:03 yourself, go ahead. But, you know, be 45:05 prepared to get lost, be prepared to 45:08 fall into a ravine, not knowing where 45:10 you are. 45:11 Run out of supplies, 45:12 even die, 45:14 it could happen. Yes, dying in the 45:15 middle of the road, it’s very 45:16 possible you haven't arrived yet and 45:18 you're already gone. Or, 45:20 encountering wild animals, for example. 45:23 Those are the risks if we walk alone, 45:25 but it doesn't rule out the possibility 45:28 of arriving. No, it's possible to 45:29 arrive. Well, it's exactly the same 45:31 regarding*al-wusul ilallah*, reaching 45:33 Allah Ta'ala. *Al-wusul ilallah*is like 45:36 a mountain peak that is extraordinary. 45:37 We hear stories about it. Wow, it's 45:39 amazing. About the*auliya shalihin* 45:42 whose hearts, *masyaallah*, are so pure 45:44 that they view the world as the same, 45:46 whether it's stone or gold—oh, great 45:48 stories about the saints, I wish I 45:49 could be like that. So, choose two:" I 45:53 want it, "but is there someone who has 45:57 been there who can help us get there, 46:01 to be our guide? Well, that is a* 46:03 mursyid*. With a*mursyid*, he will 46:06 shorten your path and also, what do you 46:09 call it? You are safer from falling 46:11 into the ravines of worldly desires. 46:13 Wow, that's the word. But without a* 46:15 mursyid*, we might reach Allah Ta'ala, 46:18 but the journey will be very long and, 46:20 well, how many times will we fall into 46:23 the ravines of worldly desire? 46:25 That is the summary. 46:27 Masyaallah. 46:27 So, is a*mursyid*necessary, then? 46:30 Yes. 46:31 That is the answer from before. 46:33 Yes, yes, yes. Necessary, meaning it is 46:36 really mandatory, because if you go 46:38 alone, you can, but it is difficult and 46:41 high-risk. 46:42 Masyaallah, like that, is it? 46:44 Now, earlier we mentioned many ravines 46:45 —what kind of ravines are those? 46:47 Ravines of worldly desire, Habib. 46:48 Wow, that is very dangerous. 46:50 In some practices, we think," This is 46:52 good. "Yes, it's already good. But, 46:54 you're being encouraged by the devil to 46:55 do it. 46:56 Even though there's no deception from 46:58 the devil, it's worship, Bib. Yes, 47:00 sometimes it is worship, sometimes it 47:01 is*dhikr*. Now, the teacher is the one 47:06 who usually warns us:" Be careful, if 47:07 you are worshipping and then you have 47:09 this kind of thought. "That means it's 47:11 the devil, avoid that kind of worship. 47:13 Don't do it. That's like the guide from 47:14 earlier, a guide." Hey, this is a 47:15 ravine. "" Don't, don't, don't turn. "" 47:18 Don't go there. "" There's a ravine, " 47:19 exactly like that. Yes. 47:21 Masyaallah, masyaallah. Now, what are 47:23 the tips for finding a*mursyid*, Habib? 47:25 But don't answer yet. Let's take a 47:26 break first. Masyaallah. 47:28 Let me have a drink first. It feels 47:30 like I've been rambling for a while, 47:32 just let it be. 47:33 Brothers and sisters. For brothers and 47:35 sisters who wish to ask questions, 47:37 please send them to 0811999720. Or you 47:43 can call 0218451512. We will be back in 47:48 a moment. Brail. Alikallahu ya alamal 52:26 huda. Blessings upon You, O Teacher of 52:30 guidance for us, O Prophet Muhammad, 52:32 may Allah's peace and blessings be upon 52:34 him and his family. O Allah, send 52:36 blessings upon our master Muhammad and 52:38 upon the family of our master Muhammad. 52:40 Brothers and sisters, welcome back with 52:42 me, Isa Alkaf, in the Sufism Study with 52:44 Habib Ahmad Mujtaba, reviewing the book 52:46 Mahiyatut Tasawuf. For brothers and 52:49 sisters who wish to ask questions, 52:51 please send your questions to 52:52 0811999720. Or you can call directly to 52:59 0218451512. Now, Habib, you previously 53:05 shared about how we really need a 53:08 murshid. Are there, Habib, traits of a 53:11 murshid that we can identify? Because 53:14 if we choose the wrong murshid, the 53:16 wrong teacher, 53:18 I'm afraid it might actually distance 53:19 us from Allah. What do you think, Habib 53:20 ? What are the traits, Habib, roughly? 53:23 MasyaAllah, antum. Wow, that is an 53:25 important point, Habib. 53:27 Earlier, the parable we mentioned, what 53:29 was that story? The story about 53:31 climbing a mountain, we need someone 53:32 who is experienced, right? It’s 53:35 exactly the same if we choose the wrong 53:37 murshid, the wrong guide, and it turns 53:39 out the guide is inexperienced or 53:41 guides us somewhere other than our 53:43 destination. Who knows where we might 53:45 end up. 53:46 We get lost. Our lives would be wasted 53:48 because of that. That's why it is very 53:51 important when looking for a murshid, 53:53 to find a truly genuine murshid. A 53:56 murshid in every sense of the word, a 53:57 murabbi in every sense of the word. 54:00 Who discussed this matter? Two people 54:02 discussed this most remarkably. The 54:04 first is Imam Abdul Wahab Sya'rani. 54:08 There's a call, but let's finish this. 54:10 What? 54:10 Imam Abdul Wahab Sya'rani discussed 54:12 this extensively in his book, Lawaqih 54:14 al-Anwar al-Qudsiyah, 54:15 including the criteria for a murshid. 54:17 The second is Al Habib Ali bin Hasan 54:19 Al-Attas, the author, in his book 54:21 Al-Athiyah al-Haniyah. 54:23 It lists many criteria. But the most 54:24 essential, the most important criterion 54:26 here is that a murshid must be perfect 54:28 in their practice, both outwardly and 54:30 inwardly. They are very perfect in 54:32 following the Sharia. Yes. 54:34 Both the obligatory and the recommended 54:36 . When you want to emulate them, you 54:39 can do so from the moment they wake up 54:41 until they sleep again. Meaning all 54:43 their deeds are authentic. 54:46 All their deeds connect to the Sunnah. 54:49 True. That is the first condition. 54:50 That is the first condition. 54:53 So, if there is someone who claims to 54:54 be a murshid but their practices are 54:56 strange, 54:57 contradicting the Sunnah, 55:00 forgive me, doing several makruh ( 55:02 disliked) things. 55:03 Hmm. 55:04 That means there is a big question mark 55:05 there. 55:06 Hmm. 55:07 Because the standard for a murshid is 55:08 someone who, if you emulate them, you 55:10 will definitely be on the right path. 55:11 Yes. Yes. Hmm. 55:12 There are some makruh things they do. 55:14 Makruh is not haram. What if it's haram 55:15 , Habib? 55:17 Makruh. Makruh, teaching from young to 55:20 old, never feeling, what do you call it 55:22 , bothered if they are teaching a child 55:24 or... 55:26 their style of explanation is the same 55:28 when teaching a child or an adult, 55:29 whether few attend or many attend, 55:30 it’s all the same—that is a murshid 55:32 . 55:33 Well, what you call it, the core point 55:35 here, a Murshid is a Salik who is 55:37 Majzub, one who travels the path toward 55:40 Allah Ta'ala, then Allah Ta'ala chooses 55:42 him; that is what we call a Murshid. So 55:45 , we cannot make the Auliya—let's say 55:48 if we are talking about Majzub, well, 55:50 Majzub, Majzub means those chosen by 55:51 Allah Ta'ala. Allah Ta'ala makes them a 55:54 Wali, for example, a beloved, without 55:55 any effort from their part at all. 55:58 Someone like that cannot be a Murshid. 56:00 They cannot, we just simply respect 56:02 them. 56:03 We certainly respect them, kiss their 56:05 hands, wow, this is a great Wali, okay, 56:06 but they can't be a Murshid, why? 56:09 Yes, they just, well, you know, they 56:11 don't know the journey, suddenly they 56:12 are at the top. 56:13 Yeah, yeah. 56:15 It's like there's a helicopter here. 56:17 Taking you to the mountain peak. 56:19 Not trekking. Don't know the way. 56:22 Don't know the way. 56:23 Geez. 56:23 We ask," Teach us so we can reach the 56:25 mountain. "How do we do it? 56:27 How do we do it? He'd be confused. He 56:29 never traveled it, he doesn't know 56:30 which path to take. Even though this is 56:32 about whispers, or divine thoughts, or 56:34 satanic ones, or the pitfalls of the 56:36 ego, he hasn't experienced that, you 56:37 see. It's not that he's wrong. No. He's 56:39 not wrong, he's chosen by Allah Ta'ala. 56:41 But to be a Murshid, no. 56:43 He must be a Salik who is Majzub. Not a 56:44 Majzub who is a Salik, in their terms. 56:47 That's the summary, Habib. MasyaAllah. 56:48 Jazakullah khair. Is the caller, Mas 56:50 Agus, still on the line? 56:53 Still, yes. Bismillah. Assalamualaikum. 56:57 Who is this? A lady. 56:58 Assalamualaikum. 56:59 Or a gentleman. 57:01 Hello. 57:02 Louder. 57:03 Assalamualaikum. 57:03 Waalaikumsalam warahmatullahi 57:04 wabarakatuh. Who is this? Where are you 57:06 calling from? 57:06 It's a lady. 57:10 Madam. 57:10 Like this. 57:12 Yeah. I am following every one of these 57:17 lessons from what I have printed, but 57:20 the obstacle is...the text lacks vowel 57:27 markings (harakat), Habib. The writing. 57:33 Yeah. Please, when reading the Matn...I 57:43 mean, don't do it too fast. 57:45 And if possible, repeat it. 57:48 Okay. 57:49 So I can follow along and add the vowel 57:51 markings, especially for the Hadith 57:53 texts. 57:53 Okay. Understood, Madam. Ready. 57:56 Ready. Thank you very much for the 57:57 input. Is there anything else you'd 57:59 like to ask? 57:59 One more thing. I am not following this 58:01 from the beginning, am I? Habib. Yes, 58:05 because I only found out about this 58:08 after several meetings or sessions had 58:12 already passed. I suggest that if this 58:16 book is finished, could it please be 58:19 repeated from the beginning? 58:23 Oh, I see, I see, a suggestion to 58:25 repeat it; you can check the YouTube 58:27 recordings of the Tasawwuf presentation 58:30 . Habib, please, for the Matn, could 58:34 you go a bit slower, not too fast, and 58:37 repeat it so I can follow along, Habib. 58:41 Sorry, I don't have a background in 58:43 Arabic, but I really want to follow 58:44 along. 58:45 Understood. Thank you very much, Madam, 58:47 for the... 58:48 That's all, Habib. Thank you. 58:49 You're welcome. Assalamualaikum, Madam. 58:52 Waalaikumsalam. Maybe this is good 58:54 feedback, I'm thinking about it too, 58:55 Bib. Maybe in our next meeting, I can 58:58 help read the text first. Excellent, 59:01 that's great. Then I'll provide the 59:05 explanation. 59:05 Oh, cool. MashaAllah. 59:07 Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. 59:09 God willing, next week, brothers and 59:10 sisters. God willing, it really doesn't 59:12 have diacritical marks. Correct. 59:13 True. True. 59:14 There are no diacritical marks. This. 59:15 Correct. 59:16 I know, Habib, there were some brothers 59:19 who... 59:20 what is it called? Rewrote this book 59:23 and translated it. 59:24 Oh, there's a translation. 59:25 There is a translation. In English, 59:26 there are many translations, and a good 59:28 one in English is" Ma'hid Tasawwuf. "In 59:29 Indonesian, as far as I know, there is 59:31 one. 59:31 In Indonesian, there is, yes. 59:32 There is a brother who translated it, 59:34 what is the title? 59:35 What is the title?" Mengungkap Hakikat 59:36 Ilmu Tasawuf "(Uncovering the Essence 59:37 of Sufism). 59:37 Oh, there it is. For the brothers, you 59:39 can look it up on Google," Mengungkap 59:41 Hakikat Ilmu Tasawuf, "written by Habib 59:44 Umar bin Muhammad bin Salim bin Hafid. 59:47 Written as Habib Umar bin Hafid. 59:49 MashaAllah. MashaAllah. 59:51 Yes. Ready. Thank you, Ma'am. I was 59:53 actually thinking, Habib, should we 59:56 read it first? I mean, so the brothers 59:59 and sisters can follow along, like from 1:00:01 page X to page Y, and then provide the 1:00:02 explanation. Kak Roha, Kak Roha. 1:00:07 In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious 1:00:08 , the Most Merciful. Lastly, Habib, 1:00:09 perhaps this is the final question from 1:00:11 Ibu Nurul. Peace be upon you, Habib. 1:00:15 How can we make our dhikr truly 1:00:17 permeate our hearts, even to the point 1:00:19 of crying when remembering our sins? 1:00:22 From Nurul, Habib Allah. MashaAllah. 1:00:27 MashaAllah, Habib. Amazing. This is 1:00:28 amazing. How can our dhikr permeate the 1:00:32 heart, to begin with? May Allah reward 1:00:34 you well, Ibu Nurul, for that 1:00:35 magnificent question. A question that 1:00:38 indicates sincerity, God willing. Oh, 1:00:42 we discussed earlier, what was it? The 1:00:44 essence of dhikr is for it to be able 1:00:46 to enter our hearts. So, how do we do 1:00:48 that? Follow the steps, Habib. The 1:00:51 first step here is to strive with the 1:00:54 outward, with external matters. 1:00:57 One, find a quiet time, yes. 1:01:00 H. 1:01:01 With a calm mind. 1:01:03 Yes. 1:01:04 Also a quiet place. H. Oh, that is very 1:01:07 influential for beginners. Later on, 1:01:09 for the future. 1:01:10 It will be possible to do it anywhere. 1:01:13 Ah, that’s why, what is it? And the 1:01:15 most extraordinary time for dhikr is 1:01:17 the night, they say, right? 1:01:19 Dawn, like that. Until Allah Ta'ala 1:01:22 highlights the matter of the Quran," wa 1:01:25 qur'anal fajr. "" Inna qur'anal fajri 1:01:28 kana mashhuda. "Indeed. 1:01:30 Dawn is an extraordinary time, Habib. 1:01:32 The time of dawn is blissful for dhikr. 1:01:36 A few minutes before dawn and after 1:01:38 dawn, there is an extraordinary 1:01:41 calmness there that is amazing. Wake up 1:01:44 in the middle of the night. The meaning 1:01:46 of middle of the night here is like the 1:01:48 last third of the night, 3:30 AM for 1:01:49 example. That is the most effective 1:01:51 time for dhikr. 1:01:53 With a calm mind. 1:01:55 We haven't gone through the day yet, we 1:01:57 don't have many thoughts yet, so it's 1:01:59 still empty and clear. Yeah. It's 1:02:01 easier to enter into the state of dhikr 1:02:03 at that time. So, find a quiet place as 1:02:06 well, if possible. And indeed, that 1:02:09 time is usually quiet, people are 1:02:10 usually sleeping. 1:02:12 Now, find a place where 1:02:14 it's up to you, in the dark or in the 1:02:16 light, each has its own virtues. What 1:02:18 do you call it? Some prefer darkness. 1:02:21 For them, it's dark. For others, no, 1:02:22 light, yes. Light, each to their own. 1:02:25 Now, with the help of a quiet and 1:02:27 peaceful place, and a time that is, 1:02:30 what do you call it, quiet and calm, 1:02:32 and a calm mind too, here we little by 1:02:34 little enter into what is called 1:02:37 khusyuk (deep focus) in the chanting of 1:02:39 dhikr. 1:02:42 Whether it's with a melody, some use a 1:02:44 melody, eh 1:02:46 or maybe not using a melody 1:02:48 that's also possible, it depends on 1:02:50 each person's preference and 1:02:51 compatibility. This is just like prayer 1:02:53 , Beb. 1:02:54 How is it good to pray? Eyes closed or 1:02:56 open? 1:02:57 Emm, I don't know, it seems better with 1:02:59 eyes closed, Bib. Yes. 1:03:00 Now, that 1:03:00 but it's good to be open, yes. But how, 1:03:02 Bib? 1:03:03 That’s it, the question is, they say 1:03:04 praying with eyes closed is actually 1:03:06 encouraged. 1:03:06 The answer is no, it depends on where 1:03:08 the khusyuk (focus) comes from. 1:03:09 Some people find it more comfortable 1:03:11 closing their eyes. Bismillah, closing 1:03:12 eyes makes it more khusyuk. 1:03:13 Oh, it is actually encouraged if that 1:03:15 makes you khusyuk. 1:03:16 Some close their eyes 1:03:17 and end up daydreaming. Closing eyes 1:03:20 makes them daydream about everything. 1:03:22 That's true too. 1:03:24 The process regarding this dhikr, 1:03:26 whether dark or light, yes. That 1:03:28 that's one. The second one, Habib, this 1:03:31 is one. So, the pattern to be able to 1:03:33 start absorbing dhikr and for dhikr to 1:03:34 enter the heart is the way we mentioned 1:03:36 earlier. The second one, 1:03:38 ah, through the congregation, through 1:03:40 group dhikr. Group dhikr, Bib, is 1:03:42 extraordinary, extraordinary. Because 1:03:45 there is indeed a virtue in being with 1:03:46 a congregation, right? Yadullah maal 1:03:47 jamaah (God's hand is with the 1:03:48 congregation). Yadullah maal jamaah. 1:03:49 Even prayers are accepted. Heh. 1:03:52 Even if there is no khusyuk, thanks to 1:03:53 the congregation, the hadith says Allah 1:03:55 Ta'ala looks at the heart of the Imam. 1:03:57 If the Imam's heart is right 1:03:58 then the prayers of all the 1:04:00 congregation are accepted thanks to the 1:04:02 Imam. 1:04:02 What if the Imam's heart is daydreaming 1:04:03 ? 1:04:04 The prayer is not khusyuk, look at the 1:04:05 first row, is there anyone among them 1:04:07 who is khusyuk, whose heart is right? 1:04:09 If there is, all are accepted thanks to 1:04:10 that person. If there isn't in the 1:04:12 first row, look at the second row, if 1:04:13 there isn't there, the third row. What 1:04:14 if there isn't anyone at all, Bib? If 1:04:16 they are all daydreaming 1:04:17 how? Their prayers are still accepted 1:04:20 thanks to that congregation. Ah, that 1:04:22 is the virtue of congregational prayer. 1:04:24 It turns out this applies not just to 1:04:26 prayer, but to everything where we can 1:04:28 gather in a congregation. So there is a 1:04:30 virtue in congregation there. Wow, that 1:04:33 includes dhikr. 1:04:34 Masyaallah. Insyaallah. 1:04:36 Now, that starts from there, group 1:04:38 dhikr 1:04:40 with friends who are of one purpose and 1:04:42 one mindset, that is more comfortable 1:04:46 to do dhikr together. Now, the question 1:04:48 is, what dhikr? What kind of dhikr is 1:04:50 this? We start with something beautiful 1:04:53 and amazing. The beginning level of 1:04:57 dhikr and the final level of dhikr is 1:04:59 one, and that is lailahaillallah. 1:05:02 Say it often, lailahaillallah 1:05:05 as much as possible. Now, if there is a 1:05:09 murshid or a teacher, then it is the 1:05:11 teacher who provides those 1:05:12 determinations, for example, so many 1:05:14 thousands for the second stage, and so 1:05:16 on. And it's also not wrong if we take 1:05:19 a" package, "as they say. What kind of 1:05:21 package? A Ratib Haddad package, for 1:05:23 example. 1:05:25 That package is all complete. The Ratib 1:05:27 Al-Latif package and the Haddad one are 1:05:29 also extraordinary. Amazing. 1:05:31 Wow. 1:05:31 Well, that is what can be started with. 1:05:33 Now, 1:05:33 I want to add one more tip, Habib. 1:05:35 In the name of Allah. That's cool, 1:05:36 Habib. Pay off your debts. Because if 1:05:38 you have debts, it's hard to be focused 1:05:40 in dhikr as you'll be thinking about 1:05:41 the debt. Masha Allah, Masha Allah 1:05:43 tabarakallah. May Allah reward you for 1:05:45 the explanations and the answers to the 1:05:47 questions; hopefully, it is beneficial 1:05:49 for all the brothers and sisters. We 1:05:52 sincerely apologize to the brothers and 1:05:53 sisters whose questions we haven't had 1:05:55 the chance to answer via WhatsApp. 1:05:56 There's Ibu Eti, Ibu Yani, Bunda Keisya 1:06:00 , Ibu Hani, Bunda Ingga, Ibu Suryanti, 1:06:03 Ibu Sita, and Ibu Tini. Masha Allah, 1:06:07 there is Umi Farhan. Masha Allah, may 1:06:10 Allah reward you with the best of 1:06:11 rewards. Hopefully, this is useful for 1:06:13 all the brothers and sisters. And to 1:06:15 the brothers and sisters listening on 1:06:17 the Radio Silaturahim partner stations. 1:06:20 There is Radio Habibullah in Banyuwangi 1:06:22 , and there is one in Bondowoso as well 1:06:24 . There are also stations in Semarang, 1:06:28 Jogja, Magelang, then in Sukabumi, 1:06:31 Batam, and for our brothers and sisters 1:06:34 listening in Malaysia and Singapore. 1:06:38 Then to the brothers and sisters 1:06:40 watching via Rasil TV, may Allah reward 1:06:41 you with the best of rewards. Hopefully 1:06:43 , it's beneficial and becomes a means 1:06:45 of guidance for us all. May Allah 1:06:48 subhanahu wa ta'ala instill guidance in 1:06:50 our hearts so we remain on the straight 1:06:52 path of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. Not 1:06:55 the path of those who have been led 1:06:57 astray or those who have earned the 1:06:58 wrath of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. 1:07:00 Amen. Amen, O Lord of the worlds. Thank 1:07:02 you very much once again, Habib. 1:07:04 May Allah reward you with goodness. 1:07:05 Hopefully, you stay healthy, Habib, and 1:07:07 can come here again. Masha Allah, may 1:07:09 Allah reward you with goodness. Thanks 1:07:10 also to Mas Iqbal for escorting Habib 1:07:12 Mustaba. 1:07:13 Thanks to Ondi the cameraman and also 1:07:15 Agus Susilo.
