0:00 In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious 0:01 , the Most Merciful. Peace be upon you, 0:02 and Allah's mercy and blessings. O 0:04 Allah, send prayers upon our master 0:06 Muhammad and the family of our master 0:07 Muhammad. Praise be to God, we meet 0:10 again today, Thursday, the 4th of 0:13 Jumada al-Awwal 1448 Hijri, or October 0:17 15, 2026. We meet again on the Waqf 0:20 Talk show. Our interns are already here 0:24 , they are Virza Alfa and Arianto, and 0:29 of course, there is Algi Faruraji. 0:36 Alright, the theme we will take for our 0:38 Waqf Talk this time is building a 0:40 productive waqf system: the one waqif, 0:42 one step toward independence movement. 0:45 But excuse me, before we chat about 0:48 that theme, there is a message from the 0:52 program department to announce the dawn 0:55 study event at the Cibubur Country 0:59 Grand Mosque (MRCC). Dawn study at the 1:03 Cibubur Country Grand Mosque. It will 1:07 be presented by Ustadz Hamzah Alatos on 1:11 Sunday, October 18, 2026, after dawn. 1:15 After dawn, you are welcome to attend 1:18 at the Cibubur Country Grand Mosque ( 1:21 MRCC) with Ustadz Hamzah. Please do 1:25 come after dawn there. Alright, uh the 1:31 leader of LWS, the Silaturahim Waqf 1:34 Institution, Mr. Safril Lubis, is 1:36 already here. Peace be upon you, Mr. 1:38 Safril. 1:39 >> Peace be upon you, and Allah's mercy 1:41 and blessings, Mas Krishna and 1:43 >> listeners and viewers of Rasil TV. 1:46 >> Okay, let's first listen to the 1:48 recitation of Surah Al-Baqarah verse 1:50 261 to inspire us regarding this waqf. 1:52 Please, sir. I will read it myself. 1:54 Alright. 1:54 >> Okay, please. 1:55 >> I seek refuge in Allah from the 1:56 accursed Satan. In the name of Allah, 1:57 the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. 1:59 The example of those who spend their 2:03 wealth in the way of Allah is like a 2:07 seed [of grain] which grows seven ears; 2:12 in each ear is a hundred grains. And 2:17 Allah multiplies [His reward] for whom 2:19 He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing 2:23 and Knowing. The parable of people who 2:29 spend their wealth in the way of Allah 2:33 is like a grain of seed that grows into 2:36 seven stalks. On each stalk, there are 2:40 100 grains. Allah multiplies [the 2:43 reward] for whomever He wills. And 2:46 Allah is All-Encompassing, All-Knowing. 2:50 So if we read this, Mas Krishna, it 2:51 feels like we will be encouraged to 2:56 give, 2:58 >> to give charity, 3:00 >> including performing waqf. Indeed, 3:03 Allah replaces this; beyond the 700, 3:05 Allah replaces it even further as He 3:08 wills. 3:10 >> Masyaallah. Okay. Alright. How generous 3:16 Allah is in multiplying, how bountiful 3:19 He is 3:19 >> in multiplying rewards for those who do 3:22 good. We will take the theme of 3:25 building a productive waqf system: the 3:27 one waqif, one step toward independence 3:29 movement. Perhaps you could elaborate 3:30 on it first as an introduction. Please, 3:32 Mr. Safril. 3:34 >> Well, listeners and viewers of Rasil TV 3:38 , perhaps in our daily lives, we see 3:41 the current situation is quite 3:43 concerning, isn't it? The number of 3:49 poor people, not only in the world but 3:53 specifically in Indonesia, continues to 3:56 increase. If we take the BPS parameter, 4:02 as long as someone gets a little over 4:04 20,000 rupiah a day, they are no longer 4:06 considered poor, Mas Krishna. 4:10 >> But the problem now is that the cost of 4:12 living keeps rising. 4:14 >> Yeah. 4:15 >> Yeah. Meanwhile, many people's incomes 4:18 are actually decreasing. Yeah. 4:22 >> Our brothers in online transport, Gojek 4:25 , and others, their daily income is 4:28 decreasing every time. Well, this 4:33 poverty is getting worse; according to 4:36 the BPS, the number is around 28 4:39 million or 23 million people. But if we 4:43 follow the World Bank standard, the 4:48 World Bank standard with a low 4:50 threshold, the number of people in 4:53 Indonesia classified as poor is around 4:55 185 million. Well, various efforts have 5:01 certainly been made to tackle this 5:03 poverty, Mas Kris. But waqf is one of 5:08 the tools that is capable and can play 5:15 a very effective role in poverty 5:18 alleviation. 5:19 >> Hmm. 5:20 >> Indeed, its impact is not yet very 5:23 visible in Indonesia, Mas Krisna. But 5:26 if we look at examples, I often mention 5:29 Bangladesh, where the level of, what do 5:34 you call it, wealth 5:35 >> is below us, yes. 5:36 >> Below us, Pakistan is more or less the 5:39 same. 5:40 >> Malaysia is already much better. Even 5:43 in Singapore, the role of waqf in 5:45 alleviating poverty is so significant. 5:50 >> The question arises, Mas Kris, why 5:51 can't we do the same? Of course, to all 5:55 listeners and viewers, we can, but we 5:58 must do it together. The poverty rate, 6:02 which is so high, that we see every day 6:08 around us needs to be addressed, and we 6:14 must be part of that solution. Who are 6:16 we? We are those blessed by God with 6:19 sustenance so that we are able to play 6:22 a part, able to provide waqf, infaq, 6:24 and charity. These three tools—zakat, 6:28 infaq, and charity—added to waqf, 6:32 become instruments capable of 6:36 effectively tackling poverty. Perhaps 6:41 for viewers who do not yet fully 6:44 understand these four components of 6:47 poverty alleviation, I can briefly 6:49 explain that zakat is an obligation for 6:52 someone whom God has blessed with 6:55 sustenance. 6:57 >> There are parameters for wealth. 6:59 >> Gold, for example, 87 grams a year. 7:02 >> One is obliged to pay 7:04 >> 2.5%as zakat. 7:06 >> What we usually understand about zakat 7:09 is just zakat fitrah. 7:10 >> Hmm. 7:12 >> But this zakat is one of the tools 7:14 capable of driving poverty alleviation. 7:18 There is also infaq. Infaq can be used 7:21 immediately; there are no parameters, 7:22 it is given as sincerely as one likes. 7:25 Like our brothers and sisters who 7:27 provide infaq to Rasil, it can be used 7:30 to support Rasil's da'wah. The same 7:33 applies to charity. 7:35 >> But there is one more: waqf. This waqf, 7:38 Mas Krishna, falls into the category 7:41 that God replaces sevenfold. However, 7:44 there is a provision that this waqf 7:46 cannot be consumed. 7:48 >> Then the question arises, if it cannot 7:51 be consumed, what is the benefit? 7:55 >> Well, it's not that it cannot be used, 7:58 but rather it must be used for 8:00 productive activities. This morning, we 8:05 are focusing more on cash waqf. It is 8:09 commonly understood by the public that 8:12 waqf is land, like cemetery land. There 8:16 is waqf for mosques, 8:18 >> there is waqf for Islamic boarding 8:20 schools. Yes. 8:22 >> The one we are discussing, whose role 8:24 is in poverty alleviation and building 8:27 economic independence, is cash waqf or 8:29 productive waqf. The point is this. 8:34 Collected waqf funds may be used for 8:38 development activities, for example, 8:42 building businesses, houses, and so on 8:46 to be sold, but the money must be 8:50 returned, or for building things like 8:54 plantations or agriculture. There is 8:59 one assembly, a waqf institution from 9:01 East Java, that is planning to build a 9:04 palm oil mill. 9:05 >> H 9:06 >> yes. Now, this can be used, but the 9:09 condition is that the money used must 9:11 be returned, at least equal to the 9:14 amount borrowed. 9:16 >> Hm. 9:17 >> However, the benefits may only be used 9:20 to alleviate poverty, for medical 9:23 treatment, schools, and so on. So, with 9:27 a concept like this, working capital is 9:30 actually available, Mas. Mas Krishna, 9:33 working capital is available to build 9:37 an economic activity. The only 9:39 condition is that it must be returned. 9:41 The difference with a bank is that 9:43 banks have usury, have interest. This 9:45 is without usury. Now, but we also need 9:48 to understand that if it is lent and 9:51 does not return, perhaps because the 9:53 business was unsuccessful or otherwise, 9:56 then it becomes the obligation of the 9:58 nazir—in this case, in Silaturahim 10:00 there is a waqf Silaturahim nazir—so 10:03 it becomes their duty to ensure it is 10:05 returned. 10:07 >> Then if it doesn't return, how? It must 10:09 be returned. 10:10 >> Does that mean they have to pay out of 10:11 pocket, Mas Krisna? 10:13 >> But the point we want to discuss today 10:18 is how we can work together to collect 10:23 waqf that ultimately leads to steps 10:27 toward self-reliance. Now, the initial 10:32 explanation regarding one wakif, one 10:35 step toward self-reliance. The meaning 10:38 is like this, if the wakifs 10:41 specifically this morning we are 10:44 talking about Agnia, Mas Krisna. Agnia 10:51 is someone whom God has given 10:53 sustenance so that they are able to 10:56 possess much wealth, with which they 11:00 can help others. Now, if at the 11:04 beginning of our meeting this morning 11:06 we talked about poverty, on the other 11:09 hand, there are the Agnia, people whom 11:12 God has given wealth, who can 11:14 fundamentally play a role in this 11:17 poverty alleviation through waqf. So, 11:22 this morning we want to talk about how 11:26 we encourage the Agnia to participate 11:29 so that waqf can become one of the 11:32 instruments for poverty alleviation. 11:36 That is more or less the explanation. 11:38 >> Alright, we are opening for questions. 11:39 For those who wish to ask, we are 11:41 waiting at 0811999720 on the Waqf Talk 11:47 show. We already have Mr. Hendri. Eh, 11:51 peace be upon you, Mr. Spril. In Islam, 11:54 wealth is a trust from God. To what 11:57 extent do wealthy people realize that 11:59 within their wealth lies a social 12:01 responsibility toward the community? 12:05 >> Very well, Sir. Who was it earlier? 12:08 >> Mr. Henri. 12:09 >> Eh, you bringing this up is something I 12:11 consider very positive. At the same 12:15 time, on this occasion, we mention that 12:18 everything God gives to His servants in 12:22 the form of wealth is entirely a gift 12:25 from God. 12:28 >> If someone says, "This is because of my 12:30 hard work, because of my effort," then 12:31 they become like Qarun. 12:33 >> Hm. Who was so wealthy, but because he 12:37 was boastful, did not give thanks that 12:39 it was a gift from God, God caused him 12:42 to sink, right? 12:44 >> So now many people are still looking 12:45 for his treasure, right? 12:46 >> Yes. Yes. Now, of course, if God gives 12:52 and we show gratitude by utilizing the 12:54 wealth given by Allah, and Allah will 12:56 replace it 12:58 >> and multiply it. In Surah Ibrahim, it 13:02 is stated that if you are grateful— 13:06 meaning if Allah gives you wealth and 13:09 it is then used for charity, infaq, and 13:12 so on as a way to show gratitude for 13:15 Allah's blessings—Allah will add to 13:18 it. So, the point is that everything 13:23 given by Allah to His servants is 13:26 solely because of Allah's generosity, 13:28 but with the note that it must be used 13:31 according to Allah's guidance, as not 13:34 all of that wealth is entirely yours. 13:39 Because within the wealth given to the 13:41 rich, there is wealth that belongs to 13:43 the poor and needy. It does not mean it 13:47 is just divided among the poor like 13:48 that. One of the mechanisms is through 13:51 zakat. If wealth reaches a certain 13:54 amount, if I'm not mistaken 87 grams of 13:56 gold, then 2.5%of it must be paid as 13:59 zakat, for example. So, it is mandatory 14:03 to set aside a portion of one's wealth 14:08 for the poor and others. 14:11 >> Okay, next is from Mr. Anto in Cepu. 14:13 Greetings, Mr. Safril. Mr. Safril, why 14:16 has waqf not yet become a major 14:17 economic movement for the community? 14:19 Even though the potential wealth of the 14:21 Muslim community is very large. 14:24 >> It's done, sir. Mr. Anto. 14:26 >> Mr. Tanto, right? 14:27 >> Mr. Anto. Anto. 14:29 >> Mr. Anto. 14:31 >> Your comment is very interesting. If we 14:34 look at the data the total Muslim 14:39 population in Indonesia is 14:42 approximately over 252 million. And 14:48 based on simple records, nearly 14%of 14:51 them are classified as wealthy. 14:56 >> So, that's about 30 million people. If 15:02 just 10%of those 30 million people, 3 15:05 million people, contribute to waqf to 15:09 any waqf institution, any waqf 15:12 institution at all. Then it is used for 15:17 productivity development and the 15:20 proceeds are used to tackle poverty, 15:23 God willing, it is very possible. 15:27 >> Like what is depicted in Bangladesh and 15:30 Pakistan, they are able to build cities 15:33 . Let alone universities, they can 15:36 build cities, a series of schools, a 15:39 series of housing for whatever, and so 15:42 on. Can we do it in Indonesia? We can. 15:45 What Rasil is doing is striving to 15:53 provide a complete and holistic 15:56 narrative to Rasil listeners about waqf 15:59 . That waqf handed over by the waqif 16:05 must be preserved and must not be spent 16:09 . Even if it is used, it must be 16:12 ensured that it returns. This amount 16:14 can be used as working capital for 16:17 various activities. The simplest 16:21 example, which has been a Rasil work 16:23 plan but has not yet been realized, is 16:26 the Rasil community. The Rasil 16:30 community store, through our 16:32 communication with a major Muslim 16:34 retail figure, with a capital of 5 16:37 million rupiah, one can open a simple 16:39 shop in the village, at home, at their 16:42 place of residence. However, due to the 16:47 limited collection of these waqf funds, 16:49 such activities have not yet been 16:51 realized. Yes. 16:53 >> So, the meaning is this, Mas Krishna, 16:55 to Mr. Anto. Why hasn't it been 16:57 possible yet? Because of one 17:00 understanding, secondly the lack of 17:04 growing awareness, and thirdly the lack 17:08 of a truly effective system to utilize 17:11 waqf as working capital for productive 17:15 activities. That is why our topic today 17:21 is one waqif, one step towards 17:23 independence. In several discussions 17:28 Mas Krishna had with some wealthy 17:30 individuals, that is what they said. 17:35 Basically, they want to be ready to 17:37 perform waqf, but what is done with our 17:40 waqf, and how is it used productively? 17:45 There is no clear system, clear 17:47 reporting, or clear management for that 17:50 yet. Now, this is what we want this 17:54 morning to convey to the listeners, 17:58 especially the wealthy. Let us exchange 18:02 ideas together and then build a system 18:05 for how to develop this waqf. It is not 18:09 just for social waqf. If waqf 18:13 institutions and foundations in 18:15 Indonesia can coordinate and interact 18:19 better, coupled with high awareness 18:22 from the wealthy, I believe the 18:25 collected waqf funds can be used to 18:28 tackle poverty through productive use. 18:33 The waqf money cannot be used to 18:36 provide food, but it is used to build 18:39 productive activities; the returns are 18:42 what can be used, Mas Krishna. So, Pak 18:46 Wanto, we strive, if Pak Wanto is part 18:49 of the wealthy, let us discuss this 18:52 outside this forum so that waqf can be 18:55 rolled out into a poverty alleviation 18:58 system that will continue to spin 19:01 because the funds can be used, but must 19:05 be returned intact. Roughly speaking, 19:08 the funds will continue to grow, but 19:10 every time they are used for the 19:12 development of productive business 19:14 facilities, it is allowed, but it must 19:16 be returned, more or less like that. 19:19 Alright, before we read the next 19:21 question, for those of you who want to 19:24 discuss with Mr. Safril or ask anything 19:27 about waqf, please contact Mr. Safril 19:29 at 0816 then 855 488 0816 8548. Yes, 19:44 the next question is from Mr. Muliana 19:45 in Tangerang. Peace be upon you, Mr. 19:47 Safril. Mr. Safril, is it enough for 19:50 the wealthy to just pay zakat, or do 19:53 they still have a moral responsibility 19:55 to develop waqf for the benefit of the 19:57 people? Yes, listeners and viewers of 20:05 Rasil, if we examine Surah Al-Balad, 20:10 this surah is a depiction of how 20:15 believers help one another. Yes, one of 20:22 the points is that during a famine, 20:24 even those with limited food are 20:29 obligated to help their other brothers 20:31 who are starving. Yes, both have 20:34 limited food, Mas Krishna. Limited food 20:37 , but even so, one must try to help 20:40 those who are starving, right? 20:43 Including the orphans as well. So the 20:45 picture in Surah Al-Balad is called " 20:48 falaqtahamal-aqabah." Allah says, "But 20:52 he has not broken through the difficult 20:57 pass." What is the difficult pass? It 21:01 is feeding the poor, the needy, and the 21:04 orphans during a time of famine. The 21:07 current condition is actually more or 21:09 less the same as what is described in 21:11 Al-Balad. the words that God conveyed 21:15 in Surah Al-Balad, but they did not 21:18 choose the steep and difficult path. 21:23 The meaning is that God wants us to 21:25 choose the steep and difficult path. 21:28 The wealthy (aknia) yes, the wealthy 21:33 spend their wealth once zakat mal is 21:37 mandatory. Yes, generally scholars say 21:41 2.5%, but Ustaz Husin often says don't 21:43 just give 2.5%, give 10%. So, in 21:47 several of our waqf institutions, Mas 21:48 Krishna, we distribute 10%for zakat. 21:52 >> Now, if the zakat mal is paid and then 21:55 added to by helping brothers and 21:58 sisters outside of that zakat, that is 22:01 a representation of taking the steep 22:04 and difficult path. I think this is a 22:09 momentum for the wealthy to show 22:15 gratitude to God by not only fulfilling 22:18 zakat mal, but also by helping their 22:21 brothers and sisters, including by 22:24 distributing waqf to tackle poverty. 22:27 Now, the picture is like that. The rich 22:31 , the wealthy are obligated to pay 22:34 zakat, but if more is given, the impact 22:38 will be even greater. And that is a 22:41 representation of being grateful for 22:43 God's blessings, which God promised 22:45 would surely be replaced with more. Now 22:49 , the picture of how the rich have 22:54 obligations beyond zakat mal. More or 22:57 less like that, Mas Krisna. 22:59 >> Alright, from Mr. Derajat in Bukit Duri 23:01 . Peace be upon you, Mr. Spril. Mr. 23:03 Spril, why are some wealthy people more 23:06 interested in donating to activities 23:09 with immediate results rather than 23:11 building productive waqf whose benefits 23:14 last for decades? 23:16 >> Alright, Mr. Derajat. This is somewhat 23:19 of an irony, isn't it? But here is the 23:23 thing, if we go to an area and many 23:26 people are starving, if we give waqf, 23:28 that waqf must first be used for 23:30 productive activities before the 23:32 proceeds can be distributed. Yes, if we 23:37 give infaq, that infaq money can be 23:39 used immediately to help our brothers 23:42 and sisters. That is why at the 23:45 beginning of our discussion this 23:48 morning, Mas Krishna, all financial 23:51 instruments to tackle poverty, ranging 23:54 from zakat, infaq, sadaqah, and waqf, 23:58 should be in synergy. Everything can be 24:01 useful. In a very urgent condition, 24:04 infaq is better because it can be 24:06 utilized immediately. But for the long 24:10 term, waqf is the most effective 24:13 instrument because it acts as a 24:15 provider of working capital for 24:17 productive activities. 24:21 >> The proceeds from those productive 24:23 activities, just like what is done in 24:25 Singapore, become very useful and very 24:27 powerful in helping to overcome poverty 24:29 . 24:30 >> Yes. So, this morning, Mr. Derajat, we 24:35 hope that the wealthy (aknia) can join 24:38 us in building a system to utilize this 24:41 waqf for productive activities. 24:47 Productive activity means this, Mas K: 24:49 activities that we analyze through, 24:52 let's say, a series of feasibility 24:54 studies before we run them, so we hope 24:57 the success rate is truly very strong. 25:01 These results are what will be used. 25:04 Once one project is finished, we move 25:06 to a second project, a third project, 25:08 and so on with the same capital. Now, 25:11 that will be more effective. Now, if 25:14 more of the wealthy realize how 25:17 powerful the role of waqf is in 25:19 overcoming poverty, surely, God willing 25:23 , with Allah's help in Indonesia, 25:26 poverty alleviation can be done 25:28 together, not just by the government 25:31 but by society through these wealthy 25:35 individuals, and with good waqf 25:37 management, it will be better able to, 25:41 uh, overcome poverty, Mas Kris. 25:44 >> Okay. Next is Mr. Seful in Tanjung 25:46 Priok. Peace be upon you, Mr. Safril. 25:49 This is from the Ustaz. Ustaz Sful. Ust 25:51 Mr. Safril. 25:53 >> Ustaz Saiful. 25:53 >> Ustaz Saiful in Tanjung Priok. Allah. 25:56 >> Uh, Mr. Safril. Allah states in Surah 25:59 Ali Imran verse 92 that humans will not 26:02 reach perfect righteousness until they 26:04 spend from what they love of their 26:07 wealth. How should this verse influence 26:10 the behavior of the wealthy regarding 26:13 waqf? 26:14 >> Alright, Ustaz Saiful. Indeed, these 26:19 verses, one of which is in Surah Ali 26:22 Imran, are a warning. 26:25 >> For those who still have not spent 26:28 their wealth, it becomes even stronger, 26:31 Mas Krishna. Because there are the 26:33 words "what they love of their wealth." 26:35 >> Hm. Then they have not yet attained 26:38 righteousness. Now, this meaning is 26:40 what I think we need to continue to 26:42 socialize. Our speakers at Rasil also 26:46 periodically keep promoting the 26:48 understanding that in the wealth we 26:51 love, there is someone else's share 26:53 that must be given out so that we 26:56 attain righteousness from Allah. Now, 27:01 just like this morning, to the wealthy, 27:03 I am sure Rasil listeners must already 27:06 understand and want to spend part of 27:09 their wealth for this. But if we 27:12 promote this even more intensively, yes 27:15 . I still want to, uh, greet some of 27:18 our brothers and sisters who have 27:21 become waqifs. Mrs. Ci. Mrs. C is the 27:25 first waqif at the Silaturahim Waqf 27:27 Institute. Then there is Mrs. Marisma 27:31 Mirazma, there is Mrs. Asmangia. There 27:35 is Mr. Selamat Riadi who gives waqf 27:38 almost every week, yes. There is Abu 27:41 Nanis and many others, yes. If this is 27:44 promoted, how do we promote it? First, 27:48 the wealthy must understand that by 27:50 spending part of the wealth they love, 27:53 Allah has promised not to make them 27:55 poor. 27:56 >> Hm. 27:57 >> One. Then don't just do it for yourself 28:01 , invite your children. Mrs. Mirasma, 28:06 uh, she invites her children to give 28:10 waqf. 28:11 >> She has, if I'm not mistaken, three or 28:13 four children, all of whom give waqf. 28:16 Now, if something like this is promoted 28:18 , families inviting their children who 28:20 are also successful to give waqf, then 28:25 the rolling out of this waqf becomes 28:29 stronger, faster, and there are more 28:33 productive efforts we can undertake as 28:37 a way to overcome this poverty, Mas 28:41 Krisna. So what Ustaz Saiful conveyed 28:45 earlier serves as a warning to us, to 28:48 the listeners, do not hesitate, do not 28:52 be afraid, and do not hold back the 28:55 wealth we love from being spent in the 28:59 form of infaq, charity, and waqf. Zakat 29:04 is already mandatory; if it is not paid 29:06 , you are immediately sinful, Mas. Now, 29:09 if it is not spent as mentioned earlier 29:12 , the second stage is not attaining 29:14 righteousness. 29:15 >> Hm. 29:15 >> Yes. So, dear listeners, once you have 29:20 fulfilled your zakat mal, give even 29:22 more from your wealth. Part of it is 29:26 for this ongoing charity. 29:29 >> Okay. So that we can roll out poverty 29:31 alleviation programs in our country 29:34 together. 29:34 >> Yeah. 29:35 >> Yes. Rasil will continue to be 29:37 intensive. Hopefully, in the next 29:39 meeting, we will invite colleagues or 29:42 experts in this waqf who have succeeded 29:45 to motivate us to be more intense in 29:48 giving waqf. 29:49 >> Alright. Next, from Mr. Ramdana on Dr. 29:52 Sarjo Street. Mr. Sapril, can someone 29:55 be called successful in managing their 29:57 wealth if they are rich? Personally, 30:00 but their wealth leaves no long-term 30:03 benefits for the community. In several 30:09 uh verses and hadiths of the Messenger, 30:11 it is described how Allah is wrathful 30:13 toward people like this. Yes, if we 30:17 take the example of Qarun, the story of 30:19 Qarun in the Quran, it took so many 30:22 strong men just to carry the keys to 30:24 his treasure vaults; he was that 30:26 incredibly rich. But Allah is wrathful 30:31 if they refuse to give, if they are 30:33 stingy. 30:35 >> Because Allah says, "If you give, I 30:37 will replace it 700-fold." On the other 30:41 hand, if you don't give it, you won't 30:43 get blessings. On the other hand, if 30:47 you don't give, then it is a form of 30:49 not being grateful for Allah's favors. 30:52 "The answer is, let us give. The wealth 30:58 you possess will not decrease if you 31:00 give it away. People will not become 31:05 poor by performing ongoing charity 31:09 through zakat, infaq, sadaqah, and waqf 31:12 . 31:14 >> Allah has promised they will not fall 31:15 into poverty. 31:17 >> Okay. What else are we worried about, 31:19 Mas Krishna? So, for the Agnia (the 31:23 wealthy) this morning, we specifically 31:25 want to greet our brothers and sisters 31:27 who are the wealthy. What is Agnia? 31:30 People who have extra wealth; well, 31:32 defining" extra "is difficult, but 31:34 their wealth, their lives are already 31:39 >> far above the level of sufficiency. 31:41 >> Okay. 31:42 >> Give waqf. 31:44 >> Alright. Next, from Mr. Gustaf in 31:46 Karawang. Assalamu'alaikum, Mr. Safril. 31:49 Mr. Sapril, how do we explain to the 31:52 wealthy that waqf is not just reducing 31:55 wealth, but turning wealth into a 31:57 source of ongoing reward and benefit. 32:01 >> Alright, Mr. Gustaf. If you already 32:04 understand about waqf, as well as zakat 32:07 , infaq, and sadaqah, please reach out 32:10 to those Agnia. But if you feel you 32:14 need help explaining it so the 32:17 narrative is clearer, you can find a 32:20 scholar near your home in Karawang to 32:24 approach those Agnia. Or if it is 32:28 really needed, for example from Rasil, 32:31 oh, one day we can find time to visit 32:34 them together. Because many Rasil 32:36 listeners who are far away, Mas Krishna 32:38 , 32:38 >> also 32:39 >> end up giving waqf. 32:42 >> One example is Ibu Asmangiah. Yeah. 32:45 >> She has a shophouse in Kutoarjo and a 32:47 rice field, and that field is very 32:49 fertile. 32:50 >> Oh, I see. 32:51 >> Very fertile. 32:52 >> Masha'Allah. Have you seen it, sir? I 32:54 have seen it, and she has endowed it. 32:57 >> Yeah. 32:57 >> Then I asked," Mrs. Asmangiah, where 32:59 does your livelihood come from? "" I do 33:01 have a few shophouses; from those, "" 33:03 >> I can make a living. "I apologize, Mrs. 33:05 Asmangiah. I am not talking about your 33:09 wealth, but what I want to convey is 33:15 your awareness in utilizing the wealth 33:18 God has given you to become a charity 33:21 that is truly worthy of us imitating. 33:25 Let's bring in Mrs. Syarifah in 33:27 Magelang. Peace be upon you, Mr. Safril 33:29 . How can wealthy people transform waqf 33:33 from just land and mosque buildings 33:35 into an economic force that creates 33:38 jobs, education, and healthcare 33:40 services? 33:42 >> Right, yesterday afternoon, Mas Krisna, 33:45 we talked with a friend of ours; there 33:47 is 10 hectares of land in Jonggol being 33:49 offered to be managed. 33:52 >> Okay. 33:53 >> Then we started the story. This is just 33:55 the very first story. I said, if there 33:57 is land, it doesn't need to be 10 33:59 hectares, Mas Krishna. Even if that 34:02 land is only 300 square meters, 34:05 >> it can be cultivated into productive 34:07 land. 34:08 >> Yes. Yes. Just like what we are doing 34:10 at the Rasil garden. The first Rasil 34:12 garden has already started, God willing 34:14 , to repay the waqf loan. 34:16 >> The second Rasil garden is starting to 34:17 be replanted. Hopefully, it can be 34:21 planted soon and become productive. And 34:25 to my other brothers and sisters who 34:27 have land, please discuss with your 34:30 nearest waqf institution to develop it 34:33 into a garden, for example, but for a 34:36 garden, we must understand not to plant 34:39 things with low demand. So if we plant, 34:44 find the marketing first, find the 34:46 market first, and plant high-quality 34:48 crops. For example, regarding Mrs. 34:52 Syarifah's question, how to utilize it 34:55 if you have wealth and synergize with 34:58 someone who has land, so that the 35:00 wealth goes through waqf. If you spend 35:05 it directly for garden costs, it ends 35:07 up as charity or alms, right? But if it 35:12 is put into waqf first, and then issued 35:15 from the waqf, the waqf money you 35:17 donated will remain intact. Even if it 35:20 is used for working capital, it must be 35:23 returned and will be productively used 35:26 for other projects. One garden followed 35:30 by another, one small stall joined by 35:32 another. One thing I also want to 35:36 convey, Mas Krishna, and encourage the 35:38 wealthy to seriously consider. These 35:42 community stalls play a very important 35:45 role because there are expensive shops, 35:47 but even cheap shops struggle to 35:49 survive. But if we manage it from the 35:54 initial logistics source—right from 35:57 the factory or the first distributor— 36:00 if we can get that, we can sell cheaper 36:02 , help consumers, and empower producers 36:05 . 36:08 >> Yes, this is becoming one of our waqf 36:10 programs, but it is still just in the 36:13 initial planning stage; if the wealthy 36:16 want to contribute, God willing, we can 36:18 roll this out and help many people. So, 36:23 for Mrs. Syarifah, how to utilize waqf 36:26 funds is to use them for productive 36:28 activities in a planned and controlled 36:31 manner. 36:34 >> Okay, Mr. Munaf in Bogor. Peace, Mr. 36:37 Safril. Sir. 36:38 >> Peace be upon you, and God's mercy and 36:39 blessings. 36:39 >> Can productive waqf be a solution to 36:42 reduce poverty and the community's 36:45 dependence on social assistance? Very 36:48 much so, Mr. Munif. Mr. Munif, yes. 36:51 >> Mr. Munf. 36:51 >> Mr. Munf. Mr. Munaf. I'm sorry, it is 36:53 very possible, Mr. Munaf. Why do I say 36:56 it's possible? From the endowment funds 36:58 collected, the cash endowment. That 37:01 cash endowment can be used as working 37:04 capital for productive economic 37:06 activities. When I say productive 37:11 economy, it means the utilization or 37:13 the economic activity must be 37:15 well-tested and well-planned so that 37:17 the profit potential is more convincing 37:19 . H. 37:22 >> Now, it is this profit that is shared. 37:25 The more activities like this are 37:28 rolled out, coming from even more 37:31 collected endowments, then there will 37:33 be more, uh, what do you call it? 37:37 People experiencing poverty will be 37:40 helped. There is one story, Mas Krishna 37:43 , about someone who was initially 37:46 struggling because he had just stopped 37:48 working. Then he looked for a way to 37:51 collect vegetables from the central 37:53 market at night. Then packed and 37:56 marketed them through online media. 38:00 Good. But just to have the initial 38:02 capital is difficult, you know. 38:04 >> Well, endowments can step in as an 38:06 endowment provider. But ensuring that 38:09 what is borrowed must be returned also 38:12 requires sufficient research, Mas 38:14 Krishna and all listeners, especially 38:17 the Aknia. Let us think about this 38:21 seriously as a way of utilizing the 38:24 sustenance that Allah has given us and 38:27 striving to make that sustenance more 38:30 blessed, more blessed, more blessed, 38:33 and more beneficial. 38:35 >> Okay. Alright. This is Mr. Spril's 38:37 phone number. For those of you who want 38:39 to discuss endowment issues, please 38:42 contact Mr. Safril Lubis. This is the 38:44 phone number: 0816. Okay. Then 855. 38:52 Then 488. 0816. 8548. Next, this 39:01 question does not mention a name. Mr. 39:03 Safril. If a businessman has large 39:06 capital, which is more strategic? 39:10 Donating money for immediate needs or 39:12 building a productive business whose 39:15 proceeds fund schools, hospitals, and 39:17 community empowerment. 39:20 >> My answer is certainly endowment. 39:23 >> Why endowment? Because with this 39:26 endowment, once you donate, you become 39:28 a wakif, and your endowment money will 39:30 not be exhausted. Even if it is used 39:34 for productive activities, it is 39:36 certain to be returned. So, once the 39:40 endowment is collected, you donate, for 39:43 example, then your endowment money is 39:45 used for productive activities. The 39:49 results from these productive 39:51 activities are used to tackle poverty, 39:53 education, health, and so on. And that 39:57 endowment loan must be returned. Once 40:01 it is returned intact, it is used for a 40:03 second activity, a third activity, and 40:05 so on. If compared to you directly 40:10 giving, uh, infaq, charity, and so on, 40:13 then what you give is used up. I do not 40:19 mean to say that what you use as direct 40:22 infaq or direct charity is not 40:24 beneficial. Allah replaces it up to 700 40:27 times. But the repetition of its 40:30 benefits will be far different from an 40:33 endowment. The repetition of benefits 40:36 from an endowment rolls on continuously 40:38 throughout time. Whereas infaq or 40:41 charity is only rolled out once and it 40:45 ends there. 40:47 >> Okay, Mr. Supartono in Kalibata. Shalom 40:50 , Mr. Safril. Mr. Safril, how can 40:53 neglected waqf land be transformed into 40:56 a productive asset without compromising 40:58 its purpose and Sharia provisions? Well 41:02 , this is very interesting, Mr. 41:03 Supartono. We have actually discussed 41:07 productive agriculture many times. 41:11 It’s just that the momentum might not 41:13 be enough right now. Productive 41:16 agriculture includes examples like 41:19 multicrop farming. Multicropping 41:23 isn’t just about cassava or palm oil; 41:26 it uses multiple crops, many plants. 41:31 Simply put, you could plant lemongrass, 41:36 cardamom, cloves, nutmeg, sugar palm, 41:40 rice, and so on. It depends on the size 41:45 of the facility, Mr. Supartono. Please, 41:47 if you have the chance later, we can 41:49 interact again and focus specifically 41:50 on this. Because in recent times, we 41:53 and our colleagues have been discussing 41:56 this productive agriculture issue, 41:59 which will be rolled out using waqf 42:01 funds, God willing. 42:03 >> Okay. Next, from Mr. Koko in Purwakarta 42:09 . Greetings, Mr. Safril. Mr. Safril, do 42:13 wealthy people need to form a 42:15 consortium or a joint waqf network so 42:18 that major projects like hospitals and 42:22 waqf universities can be realized? 42:25 >> That’s very good, Mr. Koko. However, 42:28 it must be understood that this waqf is 42:31 channeled to a nazir. 42:36 >> A nazir is, what do you call it? A 42:40 nazir is a recipient whose waqf 42:42 institution or foundation has been 42:45 certified by the Indonesian Waqf Board. 42:48 It is possible for several waqf bodies 42:51 —let's say a waqf institution—to 42:53 join together and discuss with other 42:56 waqf bodies. If we have various 42:59 projects, for example in agriculture, 43:02 health, or education, that is very, 43:05 very, very good. If Mr. Koko has 43:08 friends involved in waqf, let's 43:10 communicate with each other. God 43:13 willing, next month, Mas Krishna, the 43:16 synergy of these waqf institutions will 43:19 be one of our topics so we can roll out 43:23 a strong synergy plan for waqf 43:25 institutions, as suggested by Mr. Koko. 43:29 Thank you, Mr. Koko. 43:31 >> Then, Mr. Sultan in Banten. Mr. Safril, 43:38 why are many wealthy Muslims able to 43:40 build large businesses but not 43:43 necessarily able to build waqf 43:45 institutions whose benefits are felt by 43:47 millions of people? 43:52 >> Compared to several other countries, 43:54 the understanding of waqf in Indonesia 43:57 is indeed not as advanced as elsewhere. 44:00 We understand that Al-Azhar was founded 44:04 from waqf funds. Yes, in Pakistan and 44:07 Bangladesh, there are many. In Malaysia 44:10 , hundreds of clinics were established 44:12 using waqf funds. In Indonesia, the 44:15 narrative or understanding of waqf is 44:17 still limited. Through forums like what 44:20 we are doing together this morning, Mas 44:22 Krishna, this waqf discussion. We hope 44:25 the listeners will understand waqf. 44:27 Simply put, waqf, specifically cash 44:30 waqf, is like this. Yes, cash waqf is 44:34 what is deposited with a nazir by a 44:37 wakif, and the nazir is obligated to 44:40 manage it productively to provide 44:43 benefits. So, that money will not run 44:47 out; it will keep circulating and must 44:49 be utilized. 44:51 >> Yes. To the wealthy who understand, 44:55 please help educate your friends. For 44:58 those who do not understand yet, please 45:01 study waqf again. Waqf is an ongoing 45:04 charity that even while we sleep, it 45:06 continues, God willing, to flow with 45:08 rewards. Continuously until, God 45:11 willing, the time comes for us to face 45:13 Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. 45:17 >> Wow, someone has already transferred, 45:19 from Adi Sr. Alhamdulillah, Mr. Safril, 45:21 the waqf has been transferred. May it 45:23 be beneficial and blessed. We ask for 45:26 prayers from the listeners. Okay. 45:28 >> Alright. May Allah increase the 45:31 blessings of the wealth of those who 45:33 give waqf today. 45:36 >> Hm. Mr. Safril, it seems all questions 45:41 have been answered. Is there a 45:43 conclusion you would like to convey? 45:51 Right, and to all the viewers, 45:56 >> remember 46:00 >> let us understand this waqf. Then let 46:07 us realize that Allah gives us wealth 46:12 which, when we give it away, is part of 46:16 our gratitude for the provision given 46:19 by Allah. Let us release our wealth to 46:24 be managed so it can provide more 46:26 productive results in the form of waqf. 46:31 It does not have to be through the 46:33 Silaturahim waqf institution. Hm. 46:35 >> You are welcome to give waqf to any 46:37 waqf institution. If you want to give 46:40 waqf to Radio Silaturahim, Mas Krisna 46:42 will read the account number later. I 46:44 >> God willing, it will be managed 46:47 trustworthily, and if this is rolled 46:50 out, especially for the wealthy, the 46:53 wealth you have, if given as waqf, will 46:56 God willing be beneficial. Let us 46:59 tackle poverty together. Let us help 47:02 our children. so they can obtain a good 47:06 education through waqf. Give waqf, it 47:10 is guaranteed that Allah will replace 47:13 it 700 times over, and specifically for 47:15 waqf, the rewards will continue to flow 47:18 from Allah, even while we sleep, until 47:21 we face Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. 47:24 >> Alright, we will read the account 47:26 number that Mr. Safril mentioned 47:28 earlier. The BSI number, the 2 is 4 47:35 times, then 300, then 307. BSI 2, the 2 47:41 is 4 times, then 300 or 3007. in the 47:49 name of the Silaturahim Waqf 47:50 Institution, BSI 222 22307 Silaturahim 47:58 Waqf Institution. For those of you who 48:00 want to discuss waqf issues with Mr. 48:02 Safril, here is the phone number. We 48:04 will repeat it again. 0816 then 855 488 48:12 0816 858. Thank you to those who asked 48:20 questions earlier. There are Mr. Anto, 48:23 Mr. Mona, Mr. Mulyana, Mr. Hendri, Mr. 48:25 Koko, Mr. Drajat, who else? Mr. Seful, 48:28 Ustaz Seful. Mr. Ramdana, Mr. Gustaf, 48:31 Mrs. Sarifah, Mr. Sultan in Banten. 48:34 Thank you for your attention. Hopefully 48:36 , this broadcast is beneficial. Thank 48:38 you, Mr. Safril. 48:40 >> Alright. I am Muhammad Krishna, along 48:43 with Firza, then also Alfa and Reianto, 48:46 and also Algi. We take our leave. 48:49 Wabillahi taufik walhidayah. 48:51 Wasalamualaikum warahmatullah. 48:52 >> Waalaikumsalam warahmatullahi 48:53 wabarakatuh.
